Episode # 9930 ~ Daniel Is Shocked By Phyllis' Confession

Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma

Daniel: What the hell is she talking about-- did you try to kill Paul and Christine?

Phyllis: I don't know.

Daisy: You ran down Paul and that "Little Bug," Cricket.

Phyllis: She's lying.

Daisy: Here's the proof. They found out that it was a rental car that ran down Paul and Christine in 1994. You rented a car for one day in December of 1994.

Kirk: There a problem?

Lauren: I just-- I-I'm sorry. I-I've changed my mind.

Neil: Hey, Lauren, hi.

Lauren: Neil.

Neil: Didn't mean to interrupt. I just wanted to say hi. It's, uh, been a long time.

Lauren: Yeah. Yeah, I've been, you know, so busy with Jill gone and, uh... uh, uh, I'm sorry, this is Kirk.

Neil: Yeah, hi, Neil Winters.

Lauren: Yeah, we've just been discussing his designs for fall.

Neil: Okay, well, um, keep discussing. I'll let you guys get back to work.

Lauren: All right.

Neil: All right, take care.

Kirk: If you change your mind...

Paul: Hi.

Heather: No bomb squad?

Paul: Just rocky road and, uh... an apology for slightly overreacting earlier. (Chuckles)

Heather: And, uh, by "Slightly," you mean "Insanely over-the-top," right?

Paul: Well, sometimes a music box... is just a music box.

Heather: Right, even one that plays creepy music. It's kind of like Ricky, which is why I gave it back to him.

Paul: You don't.

Heather: He was messing with you, making you think he left a bomb here. I told him if he didn't stop, he'd be dealing with me next time.

Paul: Oh, man, I wish you hadn't have done that.

Heather: I'm not afraid of him.

Paul: (Sighs) I'm afraid for you.

Heather: Well, I mean, what--what am I supposed to do, lock myself up here?

Paul: Look... (Sighs) I want you to get a restraining order.

Heather: (Laughs) Restraining order? Really?

Harmony: Can I have a menu, please?

Harmony: Drinking alone? That's bad.

Tucker: Well, not much choice these days.

Harmony: Thank you. Well, it certainly can't be this that's got you down 'cause it's not even opened.

Tucker: I don't need to open it.

Harmony: Oh, so now you're Superman, and you can see right through it.

Tucker: I can't stop a divorce, much less a speeding bullet.

Harmony: Ashley filed?

Tucker: I knew it was coming.

Harmony: (Sighs) Mick, I'm so sorry.

Genevieve: "We regret to inform you that all of the credit cards you've submitted have been rejected. Unless you come up with an alternate form of payment to cover your bill, you'll have to vacate your suite by the end of the business day."

Kevin: Look, I'm still working on trying to find out who's taking money from your Swiss bank account.

Genevieve: Uh, forget that. I got a new job for you. Close my account, uh, have all my money moved out. It's gotta be done discreetly and quickly. Nobody can know that the funds are being moved.

Kevin: Fine.

(Laptop keys clicking)

Kevin: Well, that's weird.

Genevieve: What?

(Laptop keys clicking)

Kevin: Somebody changed your password.

(Laptop keys clicking)

Genevieve: Kevin, I have got to get my money out of there.

Kevin: Well, you're gonna have to do it in person.

Genevieve: I can't do that! Nobody can know that I own the account.

Kevin: I have a chipmunk head you can borrow.

Genevieve: What?

Kevin: Nothing.

Genevieve: Okay, look. Whoever changed the password obviously hacked into the system, so why can't you just do the same thing?

Kevin: Well, I can try, but it's gonna take some time. I mean, your hacker put up some serious firewalls.

Genevieve: Right, so you--you break 'em down, you tear through 'em, I don't know. Whatever it is you computer geeks do, do it.

Harmony: You know, making amends is one of the steps, but I don't know how to do that with you. I mean, I've apologized, but I can't put your marriage back.

Tucker: You're not the one who took it apart.

Harmony: I knew you'd had too much to drink, and I took advantage of you having a lousy day.

Tucker: (Chuckles) (Chuckles) It wasn't just one day. It's my life. It's who I am. It's who I've always been.

Harmony: But you love Ashley.

Tucker: I do. Yeah, I tried. I tried to be a good husband... honest, faithful. If I was gonna be able to do it with anyone, it would have been Ashley. I like women. I like the way they look, the way they smell, the way they feel. I like being with 'em. That's not your fault. You didn't lure me away from my wife. I wanted to be with you. I still do.

Heather: Well, no judge is gonna issue a restraining order because my brother gave me a music box.

Paul: I don't trust Ricky.

Heather: Neither do I. That doesn't mean he's dangerous.

Paul: Thanks. (Sighs) You know, I just wish I knew what was going on in that kid's head.

Heather: That's the thing-- you don't, and I can't live my life like a prisoner because you have a bad feeling about him.

Paul: Right. You know, if Ricky hurt you and I didn't do everything I possibly could to protect you... I would never forgive myself.

Phyllis: That's forged.

Daisy: No, it's not. It's the real deal. You can look up all the details online, but the short version is that the police thought it was a hit-and-run, and then they found out that it was a rental car that ran over Paul and Christine, but when they looked up to see who rented the car, the records vanished. Poof. Somebody deleted them-- somebody who knew about computers.

Phyllis: Paul and Christine were in an accident.

Daisy: No, no, no. An accident is something that you don't mean for it to happen, and it happens. You meant for this to happen. You hated Cricket. She hated her so much, she even rented a car to try and kill her. Now you can check. Right here is the proof. Look at the date.

Phyllis: You're not listening to this.

Daisy: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Phyllis: Oh, my God, you're not listening to this.

Daisy: Don't--no, don't-- no, don't listen to me or you might find out what a hypocritical liar your mother is. You just love to judge me, tell me I'm a horrible person. "You tried to kill Lauren and Jana and Daniel." Look in the mirror, Phyllis. You are no better than I am. You're way worse. You never had to pay for what you did.

Daniel: Whoa, whoa, whoa, where are you going?

Daisy: I'm gonna get my baby. I don't want her around your crazy mom.

Daniel: Is this true?

Phyllis: Are you kidding me? Daniel...

Daniel: Mom, is any of what she's saying true?

Phyllis: We're not gonna talk about this. We're not gonna talk about this right now.

Daniel: Why not? Why are we not--when we not gonna talk about this? I mean, if there's nothing to it--

Daisy: There is something to it. We've all done things we're not proud of. Now all families have secrets. As long as I'm a part of this family, you don't have to worry about this one getting out. Oh, and you can keep that. I have copies.

Daniel: Mom, you gotta tell me what the hell is going on here.

Phyllis: You know she's lying, right? She's a liar.

Daniel: I saw the look on your face when she showed you this statement. You looked a little freaked.

Phyllis: This is what she's doing. No, no, no. She's pitting us against each other. That's what she's doing. She's succeeding right now. That's her pla--

Daniel: This is something that she can use to keep me trapped in this marriage with her, or to take my little girl away from me. You gotta tell me what's going on here.

Phyllis: Nothing's going on! Nothing!

Daniel: Okay, then I'll call Dad.

Phyllis: No, you're not. You're not calling your dad!

Daniel: Would you prefer that I call Christine or maybe Paul?

Phyllis: No! Would you let... this... go? Let it go.

Daniel: I cannot let this go. No, no, I will not let this go! I'm not gonna let this go, not this time. Now you need to trust me and tell me the truth, or do you want me to go and get it from someplace else?

Paul: Hey. You come here often?

Lauren: Oh, Paul, you scared me.

Paul: What, were you expecting someone tall, dark, and running the D.A.'s office?

Lauren: (Laughs) Well, I actually don't know what to expect these days. Daisy has me so jumpy.

Paul: Yeah, I can certainly understand that. Um... let's see, whatever you have on draft is fine. What as Daisy done now to put you on edge?

Lauren: Actually, not me. She got Phyllis so upset that Phyllis lost the baby.

Paul: I didn't know Phyllis was pregnant.

Lauren: No, but Daisy did. And she also knew that Phyllis was miscarrying, heard her cries for help, and did nothing.

Paul: I'm sorry. That--that's cold.

Lauren: She nearly killed me. She didn't lift a finger to help save Phyllis' baby. I mean, how much are we supposed to take before someone is allowed to stop her?

Tucker: Ahh. So what do you say? You want to get out of here?

Harmony: You really think that's a good idea?

Tucker: (Sighs) Its over with Ashley. You're not with anyone, right?

Harmony: That's not my point.

Tucker: Oh, you're right. That doesn't-- doesn't really matter to me.

Harmony: That's not what I meant. Me and you?

Tucker: Well, you seemed like you were having a pretty good time.

Harmony: (Scoffs) Yeah, Mick, you do know how to make a woman feel good, and a night with you could be quite satisfying... same way a good hit would be. You know, really exhilarating at first, and then you wake up and realize, maybe I shouldn't have done that. Now a few weeks back, we made a big mistake. I don't want to make another one.

Tucker: You sure it would be a mistake?

Harmony: As flattered as I am by your offer, it won't make either one of our problems go away.

Tucker: Will he? Why don't you just admit it? You got it bad for that dude.

Harmony: Doesn't matter. It ain't gonna happen.

Tucker: Why, because of one night with me?

Harmony: My son lost respect for me because of what we did, and if he thinks I'm responsible for ruining Neil's marriage--

Tucker: You're not. Now listen, Sof means the world to me, but that marriage was never gonna work. She loved Neil, but he didn't feel the same way about her, and that is not your fault. You need to give yourself a break.

Harmony: I will, if you will.

Tucker: Now see, I don't deserve one. (Chuckles) Listen, Darlin', you be careful, 'cause one heartless bastard in a lifetime is enough.

Neil: (Speaking indistinctly) Thanks. Appreciate it.

Harmony: Hey.

Neil: Hey.

Harmony: Hey. I was just leaving.

Neil: We can't keep avoiding each other.

Daisy: Hi, Kevin!

Kevin: Hey, Daisy.

Daisy: Hey.

Kevin: Looks like you're in a good mood. (Gasps) Hi, Lucy. Hi. (Chuckles)

Daisy: Well, yeah. Things are looking up.

Kevin: Hmm. Well, I figured, with Phyllis blaming you for her miscarriage, you wouldn't be smiling like that for a while.

Daisy: Well, she reconsidered that.

Kevin: Really? 'Cause Daniel made it sound like she was pretty adamant it was your fault.

Daisy: I, uh, I think they realized that it's a mistake, going after me, and I made 'em see things this way. You know, accidents just happen, so I'm pretty sure we're gonna put the whole thing behind us.

Kevin: That's amazing.

Daisy: We're a family. That's what families do.

Daniel: Mom, I want you to tell me the truth, and I need to hear it from you. I do not want to go and ask someone else.

Phyllis: Listen. Christine was supposed to be marrying Paul, but I saw her kissing Danny. Danny was my husband, and she was kissing Danny, and everybody saw Christine as this beautiful, perfect princess, and I knew differently. Here she was, marrying one man, and she's kissing another, and I just snapped. I didn't want her to get away with it.

Daniel: What'd you do?

Phyllis: I rented a car.

Daniel: (Sighs)

Phyllis: (Exhales slowly) I rented a car. I just wanted to follow Christine and Danny. I just wanted to follow them. I didn't want them to know it was me. So I waited outside of Newman Towers. Christine came out, but she was with Paul, not Danny. And then Paul left. It was just Christine. I just wanted to scare her. So I started driving toward her. Paul came running back. They were both there. I tried to swerve, but there was nowhere to go. Honestly, I didn't mean to hurt them.

Daniel: (Scoffs) Oh, my God. (Chuckles)

Phyllis: I swear it was an accident. It was an accident.

Paul: Well, I know how you feel about not being able to do anything about Daisy.

Lauren: You mean, Ricky?

Paul: Both Avery and Heather think I'm overreacting... but I'm not. There is something off about Ricky.

Lauren: I'm sorry. This must be really hard for you.

Paul: I tried to get Heather to file a restraining order against him.

Lauren: Do you really think he's that dangerous?

Paul: (Sighs) You know, I missed the warning signs with Patty. I don't want to do the same thing with Ricky.

Lauren: Look, I know you. You have great instincts. You're not one to jump to conclusions.

Paul: Well, I might have. He left Heather a housewarming gift, and when he told me about it, he made it sound like it could be a bomb, so I called in "The marines" and, um... it was nothing but a music box. Heather joked, but she thought it was way over-the-top.

Lauren: Yeah, well, you happen to be talking to the lady who pulled a gun on Daisy in my boutique, so...

Paul: Justifiable, I'm sure.

Lauren: Mm-hmm. Police didn't think that. But I'm not gonna let anybody tell me I'm overreacting, and you shouldn't, either.

Daisy: I've been out of jail for months, but for the first time ever, I feel free.

Kevin: Don't forget what I told you. It's gonna take a long time to undo the damage you've done to Daniel and Phyllis.

Daisy: Yea, but today was a step in the right direction, and it's all because of you.

Kevin: What did I do, besides give you some free coffee?

Daisy: Believed in me. You said you were on my side. I finally feel like we're brother and sister.

Kevin: Okay, if you say so.

Daisy: You know, it's funny, I don't know anything about you.

Kevin: That's not true. You know that I own this place, and you know that I'm married to Chloe. What else do you want to know?

Daisy: Mm, do you have any secret dreams, goals, other than owning a coffee shop?

Kevin: Well, actually, uh, Chloe and I have this new internet project we're trying to get started.

Daisy: Mm.

Kevin: It's this social network site where you can--where you can buy the items that you, uh, that you post. But it's gonna take a lot of capital, and--and we have a couple of investors, but it's not easy to get people to part with their money, you know?

Daisy: (Laughs) Yeah. If I had any, I'd give it all to you.

Kevin: (Chuckles) Well, thanks.

Daisy: (Chuckles)

Kevin: Actually, I don't mind most of the money coming from us. This way, we'd have more control, you know?

Daisy: Sounds risky.

Kevin: I thought I had a way to make some extra money so I wouldn't have to tap into our savings, but it doesn't look like that's working out.

Genevieve: I'm selling my jewelry to pay for the hotel suite, which I am living in. Are you trying to completely ruin me? My only crime was helping you. You know, it's a good thing that they have free Wi-Fi here at the club. You have no idea how many web sites there are on how to exact revenge on someone.

Harmony: Thank you. Keep the change.

Neil: Hey. (Laughs) Look at this. Check this out.

Harmony: Oh, my God, I can't believe how fast he's growing.

Neil: Right?

Harmony: Already standing.

Neil: Yeah. Sofia's text said, uh, he had to work hard to get there, but he was determined, you know?

Harmony: (Sighs)

Neil: I-I just wish that I'd have been there to see it. But, you know, he'll, uh I'm sure he'll pull himself up when--next time I'm--I'm there.

Harmony: Neil, listen--

Neil: Yeah? Hey, what about you? Did--did you, uh, did you have a good night last night? What'd you end up doing after Devon and I left?

Harmony: Uh, not much. I went to a meeting.

Neil: Yeah, you went to a meeting, huh?

Harmony: Mm-hmm.

Neil: That's good. I'm glad about that.

Harmony: How about you? Mm, how was the Brewers game?

Neil: Uh, that game. Yeah, we, um, we--we didn't-- we didn't end up watching the game.

Harmony: How come?

Neil: Well, we decided to order a pizza and... talk.

Harmony: Yeah? What'd you talk about?

Neil: Talked about you.

Daniel: "According to eyewitnesses, the car headed straight for the victims. A lack of skid marks supports accounts that the driver made no attempt to slow down and in fact, accelerated..."

Phyllis: Mnh-mnh. Mnh-mnh.

Daniel: "As he or she approached Ms. Blair and Mr. Williams."

Phyllis: Mnh-mnh, no.

Daniel: (Sighs) This is bad, Mom. This is--

Phyllis: No, its not-- that's not how it happened, that's not what happened.

Daniel: This is the third article. They all say the same thing.

Phyllis: I don't care what they say. It's not what-- it didn't happen like that. I don't care what they say. I tried to stop. I tried. I put my foot on the brake. It was the gas. People do that all the time. I was confused.

Daniel: Even if that's true--

Phyllis: It is true!

Daniel: You tried to cover it up.

Phyllis: Of course I did! Of course, I tried to cover it up. Everybody knew that I hated Christine.

Daniel: But enough to kill her?

Phyllis: No! No.

Daniel: Well, it looks-- I mean, it looks that way!

Phyllis: I don't care what it looks like. I freaked out, Daniel. I panicked. (Voice cracks) You know what that's like. Come on, you've done that! You've done that, too, when you don't know what to do. Everybody knew that I hated that woman. I couldn't go back. I couldn't go back. I was frightened, just like you were frightened after Cassie's accident. You--

Daniel: Mom, that was different.

Phyllis: It was not different, except one thing. One thing was different. You had me. I had your back. I was there for you the entire time, Daniel. Back then, I had nobody.

Ricky: What can I do for you?

Paul: I want you to stay away from your sister.

Ricky: Hmm. Well, Heather and I have had some arguments, but...

Paul: (Sniffles)

Ricky: You don't think that I'd actually ever hurt my sister? Wow. I take a few pictures of my sister, I get her in trouble at work, and suddenly, I'm a threat to her? That's a pretty big leap, Dad. Or it would be, if you thought that that was all that I'd done, but it isn't, is it?

Paul: No.

Man: Ms. Atkinson.

Genevieve: Uh...

Man: I've been trying to reach you.

Genevieve: I'm so sorry. Mr. Lane, I'm sorry. I, you know, I have been so busy, uh, business meetings, charity luncheons. You know how it is. I-I just haven't had a chance to catch my breath... (Laughs) Let alone return my phone calls.

Mr. Lane: About your account here.

Genevieve: Oh, yes. I got your letter, and I'm--I'm afraid it's just a big misunderstanding as a matter of fact, I was just headed out right now to, um, transfer some funds. I should be back in about, oh, an hour or so.

Mr. Lane: One hour, Ms. Atkinson. If you can't cover your bill by then, I'm afraid you'll have to leave.

Tucker: Everything okay?

Genevieve: Uh, yeah, everything's fine.

Tucker: Genevieve, if you need any help--

Genevieve: (Laughs) Tucker, I told you before, I-I-I don't need any help. I'm--I'm fine. So if you'll excuse me...

Tucker: Okay.

Genevieve: Oh! (Sighs)

Tucker: You're fine, huh? Good, and be sure to put all of Ms. Atkinson's expenses on it. If you need anything else, contact my office.

Genevieve: You didn't have to do that, you know? I mean, I do have the funds. I just--I just need to liquidate a few things.

Tucker: Listen, I know you're in trouble. It's gonna be all right.

Genevieve: Thanks.

Harmony: Um, I should go. Dinner's getting cold.

Neil: Oh, yeah, you wouldn't want your dinner to get cold, would you? You don't want to hear about what Devon and I said about you?

Harmony: Well, I thought maybe you didn't want to tell me.

Neil: Harmony, I told him that he should cut you some slack, that you're doing the best you can do... and that people, you know, everybody makes mistakes. You try to correct them... and move on.

Harmony: Well, I'm... I really should go.

Neil: Yeah. Good night.

Harmony: Night.

Ricky: So did you find anything? Anything to justify cutting me out of your life?

Paul: There are a lot of things that don't add up.

Ricky: Like what?

Paul: You said you knew what I was up to.

Ricky: You know, growing up, even though you weren't a part of my life, I always wanted to be just like you, the investigator uncovering the truth, bringing down the bad guy, and now you're sure that I'm that bad guy. You want to bring me down, and I don't understand why. Dad, what did I ever do, besides be Isabella's son?

Paul: I'm not out to get you, Ricky. I'm really not. I'm worried about you.

Ricky: Really? Because it seems like you're a little bit more worried about Heather than you are about me.

Paul: I'm concerned about both of you. That's why I'm asking you...stay away from her.

Heather: Kevin, hey!

Kevin: Heather, welcome home.

Heather: Hey. Thanks.

Kevin: So how is it being back?

Heather: You know, same job, same apartment, same drama.

Kevin: Yeah, I think my sister's creating a lot of that.

Heather: Oh, my brother's adding his fair share.

Kevin: You know, I'm trying to give Daisy a chance. The whole "Innocent until proven guilty"...

Heather: Mm-hmm.

Kevin: Again.

Heather: Yeah, it's the same with me and Ricky, and I'm trying to keep an open mind about him. You can't convict someone on a bad feeling.

Daisy: Fen? (Chuckles) When did you get back into town?

Fen: A few days ago. Uh, can I get that to go? Thanks.

Daisy: You must be excited to be home.

Fen: Yeah.

Daisy: Any big plans this summer?

Fen: Look, leave me alone, okay?

Daisy: All I'm doing is--

Fen: No, I don't care what you're trying to--

Lauren: You get away from my son.

Daisy: I was just talking to him.

Lauren: No, you don't talk to him. You don't look at him. You don't get anywhere near him.

Daisy: Jeez, get a grip. People say I'm crazy.

Lauren: No, you get away from him!

Fen: Okay, come on, Mom, Mom! Mom, let's wait over here.

Daisy: Don't worry, I'm--I'm leaving. It's fine. Oh, you know what? You should take a hint from Phyllis. She and I worked everything out. (Quietly) She's a meanie.

Fen: (Scoffs)

Lauren: I'm sorry.

Fen: Hey, let--let-- let me--let me grab my drink.

Lauren: Okay.

Fen: Then we can go, okay?

Lauren: All right. I'm sorry, Baby, I'm--

Fen: You okay?

Lauren: Yeah.

Lauren: Kirk. Can we meet? As soon as possible.

Phyllis: I did not try to kill Paul and Christine. I swear to you, I did not try to kill them.

Daniel: But, Mom, it looks like you did.

Phyllis: I did not try to kill them. I care about those--

Daniel: It looks like you did, and to make things worse, you covered it up. You kept it secret for all of these years, and now Daisy--Daisy! Daisy, of all people, is the one who figures it out.

Phyllis: Oh, don't worry about Daisy.

Daniel: (Sighs)

Phyllis: (Sniffles) I'm taking care of Daisy.

Daniel: Hmm?

Phyllis: I'll take care of Daisy, okay?

Daniel: We had that security footage that we could have used against her at the next custody hearing to get Lucy away from her, to get me out of that insane marriage. (Scoffs) (Sniffles) Now this. I-I-I don't know. I mean, you know, if we don't come up with some kind of way to get rid of Daisy, she is never gonna be out of our lives.

Next on "The Young and the Restless”...

Daniel: What are you doing here?

Daisy: My wonderful brother gave me a job.

Nick: You were talking in your sleep all night last night.

Phyllis: What'd I say?

Nick: You kept saying, "Don't do it, Daisy. Stop."

Victor: What the hell are you doing here?

Nikki: I have returned to the scene of the crime.
