Genevieve: My--my what?
Cane: Your secret Swiss bank account. We know all about it.
Genevieve Kevin had absolutely no right to tell you about that.
Cane: Kevin didn't tell us about it.
Lily: It was Chloe. She doesn't want her husband involved in something that could get him into serious trouble.
Cane: Mom, Mom, I'm worried about you, okay? And trying to put one over the feds is the quickest way to get yourself put in jail. What are you doing?
Genevieve: I-I have already given those people everything. I can't be left with nothing. Come on, that is not fair. Why should I be punished for Colin's crimes? I mean, I consider that money a divorce settlement.
Lily: If it came from Colin and you hid it from the government--
Cane: And they're gonna find the account!
Genevieve: No, I set it up specifically so that it can't be.
Cane: Oh, really? Well, somebody already has.
Jack: Leave Jabot? As in quit? Why would I do that?
Ashley: Because, for months, all I've heard you talk about is your dream of merging with Beauty of Nature and creating the biggest cosmetics company in the world. Now suddenly, you want to run them as separate entities, without even consulting me.
Jack: I'm telling you now.
Ashley: If you think you're gonna railroad this through without a discussion, you're wrong.
Jack: Ash, Ash, Ash, just slow down.
Ashley: You can't possibly give advice to two companies that are in direct competition. It's a huge conflict of interest. So either you merge them now or you choose, but you can't have it both ways.
Paul: Here you are.
Eden: Okay, I'll get your change. Hey, Michael. Your usual?
Paul: Thanks. Hey.
Michael: Hey. If you'd be so kind.
Eden: Okay.
Paul: Actually, put it on my tab.
Michael: Oh, thank you.
Paul: You're welcome. I guess congratulations are in order.
Michael: Thank you again. Lauren mentioned that you sent your regards.
Paul: Well, now I can do it in person, and let you know how grateful I am that, uh, you brought Heather on board as assistant D.A. She is thrilled to death to be a part of it and, uh, I'm very excited that she's back in town.
Michael: She, my friend, is the right woman for the job.
Paul: Yeah, I think so. You heard about this?
Michael: Nothing beyond what I've read in the press. Kenosha is out of my jurisdiction.
Paul: It's kind of interesting that Tim Reid is back in the news after all these years.
Michael: I was gonna contact my counterpart over there, se there was any information that I didn't read in the press...
Paul: Mm.
Michael: Just for old times' sake.
Paul: Doing a little digging on my own, for the same reason.
Ricky: I keep going through all this stuff of Phyllis'. I've got bank, I've got credit card statements.
Daisy: (Exhales slowly)
Ricky: I got these notes from her shrink about how screwed up she is. The timeline he told me that I should look at, and yet I keep on coming up empty. If there's a smoking gun in this mess, I'm not seeing it.
Daisy: Maybe this Tim guy is yanking your chain.
Ricky: Yeah, maybe. Too bad I can't ask him. You heard he went missing?
Daisy: Yeah, I heard. Look, what am I doing here? What do you want?
Ricky: I thought a fresh pair of eyes might help. Maybe you can see something that I overlooked. Here.
Daisy: Forget it.
Ricky: Excuse me?
Daisy: I don't want any part of this.
Ricky: Need I remind you? You owe me, Daisy.
Daisy: For how much longer?
Ricky: For as long as I say.
(Knock on door)
Daisy: (Exhales slowly)
Ricky: Heather.
Heather: Hello, Ricky. Excuse me. What's she doing here?
Daisy: Collecting the rent.
Heather: In the middle of the month?
Ricky: I like to be early.
Heather: There's no need. I mean, you're not gonna be here next month. In fact, you won't be here tomorrow.
Ricky: (Exhales sharply)
Daniel: Mm.
Phyllis: I'm okay. Sweet of you to come by. You know, when Nick left, I-I just... I got dressed up and put on some makeup. I didn't want to wallow in my misery anymore.
Daniel: Good. Look good. (Chuckles) I didn't want you to be here alone, though, and I know that, you know, Nick's over packing at the tack house.
Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah, with all the drama that's going on at the ranch, we're living here. We don't want to be there. It's better for Summer we're in the city. She's not in the boondocks, you know?
(Doorbell rings)
Phyllis: Hmm.
Daniel: Mm-hmm.
Phyllis: Hey.
Man: Hi.
Phyllis: Hi, how are you? What's up?
Man: I found this bracelet in the hallway.
Phyllis: Um, yeah, that's not mine. Wrong apartment. (Chuckles)
Daniel: Can I-- can I see that? Yeah, no, no, no, this is my wife's. This is Daisy's.
Phyllis: Um, uh, this is my son Daniel. This is--this is Brody. He's our new doorman. He started a few weeks ago.
Brody: Good to meet you, Daniel.
Daniel: Likewise.
Phyllis: Um, why would you think this was mine?
Brody: Oh, uh, when I checked the security footage to see who dropped it, I saw the woman come out of this apartment.
Daniel: Hey, man, do you think, um, do you think it'd be possible for us to see that footage?
Jack: You are making this issue much bigger than it needs to be.
Ashley: You know, this unilateral decision-making of yours--and by the way, it's become a pattern with you-- it kind of makes a-a person feel ambushed, and if you haven't noticed, that causes problems.
Jack: I'm not saying I won't eventually merge the companies. It's just, right now, they both have an excellent reputation. We need to work carefully to protect both brands.
Ashley: You know very well that Beauty of Nature can operate as a line under the Jabot umbrella. In what way would that damage either brand? The answer is, it won't, so what's the real reason, Jackie? What is it? Why do you want to keep them separate?
Jack: I will make this work-- in my own way.
Ashley: Okay, so this is about control. Three guesses who that reminds me of.
Jack: Do not compare me to Victor!
Ashley: If the ego fits. You're already spread too thin, Jack. You've got your-- your physical therapy, you're planning a wedding with Nikki. Something's gotta give, or everything and everyone in your life is going to suffer.
Jack: Why are you being such a pain about this?
Ashley: Oh, I'm being the pain? Are you kidding me?! I'm trying to protect you and Jabot... because God knows somebody has to.
Jack: So you're protecting Jabot now? That is all I have ever done!
Genevieve: I need to stop whoever it is who's siphoning off my money bit by bit. I mean, look, it's my account. What is so illegal about me wanting to identify the thief?
Cane: I think we already know who the thief is.
Genevieve: Colin. Possibly.
Cane: Mom, why are you messing with the man? Even in prison, you know he's dangerous. It's not worth the risk. Why are you doing this?
Genevieve: (Sighs) I have never longed for poverty, Ethan. This is a lot of money.
Cane: Its money you can't touch.
Genevieve: There will be a way.
Lily: Listen, just open a different account in a new name. Why is this so complicated?
Cane: Can't do it. The justice department will find it.
Genevieve: I will take the necessary steps to preserve what's mine, but first, I need to know who's behind this.
Cane: Why? Why? What are you trying to prove? What are you gonna do, go to the authorities, say, "Hey, I gotta find this money that doesn't belong to me, that I stole. Can you help me do it?" They're not gonna do it, Mom.
Genevieve: I just need proof, okay? And after that, I'll shoot from the hip.
Cane: You just better make sure no one's shooting back.
Genevieve: Look, I turned myself in willingly to protect you and your family, but I am not willing to be a scullery maid for the rest of my life.
Cane: And I don't want that for you, either.
Lily: Neither do I.
Cane: Giving away your freedom for some misguided attempt at revenge is stupid.
Genevieve: I appreciate your concern. Look, I know what I'm doing.
Daniel: Mom, this is from today, right? Right before--
Phyllis: Before I lost the baby. It's when I threw her out.
Daniel: Well, why is she just standing there? Why isn't she leaving?
Phyllis: Oh, my God, is she just listening? She is. She's just listening... listening to me beg for help and doing nothing. Oh, my God.
Ashley: If your real interest was in protecting Jabot, then this ridiculous idea of keeping the two companies separate never would have occurred to you, Jack. Your only interest is in yourself, and I can't tell you how sick to death I am of men. The only thing they think about is what they want.
Jack: Do not project your anger at Tucker on me.
Ashley: This isn't about Tucker, Jack, or anybody else. It's about how selfish you're being. Our father's legacy doesn't mean nearly as much to you as you having power.
Jack: That is not fair, and you know it.
Ashley: That's fair. You're so thrilled to have this prize that everybody fought over. Beauty of Nature belonged to Victor. Don't you dare try to tell me that wasn't the sweetest part of this deal. This whole thing-- it's about payback-- Genevieve, Victor. You know what really makes me mad? You used my daughter to make it happen.
Cane: There's no point in having Kevin commit felonies hacking into foreign bank accounts. There's other ways we can get this information.
Genevieve: How?
Cane: I'm gonna call the prison in Australia. Every phone call Colin would have made would be on record, and I guarantee he's not doing this without help from the outside.
Genevieve: Uh, w-wait. (Sighs) He's not there. He's out.
Lily: What?!
Woman: I'm trying to think how else I could help you. Um, hey, I asked around after you were here before, and nobody I talked to knew anything about Mr. Reid gone missing.
Paul: Have you seen this guy around here?
Woman: Yes, I have. I-I mean, I saw him in the hall. A kid that cute, you just don't forget. Is he a friend of Mr. Reid's?
Paul: Uh, that's what I'm trying to find out. Do you remember when you saw him here?
Woman: No, it was a while ago. I don't really re-- are you a cop or something?
Paul: No, um, I'm a, uh, private investigator, and I'm looking into Tim's, uh, Mr. Reid's disappearance, and I would really like to take a look at that apartment, if, uh, you know someone who has a key.
Woman: Well, my husband Ray is the super.
Paul: Ah.
Woman: You know, I was just thinking, all the tenants always call him to fix stuff, 'cause this place is a dump, and, um, the only time Mr. Reid ever called was when his pipes burst, okay?
Paul: Mm.
Woman: He just really keeps to himself.
Paul: So, um, could you let me in?
Woman: Well, like I said, he's just--no, it's a-- he's a private guy, and, um, oh, yeah, it's illegal.
Paul: Yeah, but it's already on the news that he's missing, and I just want to make sure that he's safe. I promise not to take anything. I just want to look and see if there's anything, any clues that I can find that point to where he might have gone.
Woman: Well, you know, the police are investigating this.
Paul: Right, supposedly, but who's to say they're going to put the effort in to find Mr. Reid that we think is necessary?
Woman: (Sighs)
Paul: Now, look, it--it-- if you were missing, wouldn't you want someone to care for you and--and try and find you?
Woman: I'll-- I'll be back with the key.
Heather: I meant what I said before, Ricky. I want you out of my place now.
Ricky: Um, you're not expecting me to move out in a day.
Heather: Hmm, let me think about that. Yes.
Ricky: (Chuckles) I have some rights, you know. I looked them up. A tenant has 30 days to comply with an eviction, longer if he decides to fight it.
Heather: You're not a tenant, remember? I am. You're an illegal sublet, a squatter. You have-- you have no rights in this situation. None.
Daisy: Uh, I'm gonna take off now, okay? B-bye.
Ricky: Heather, the only reason you're doing this is because I took those pictures of you and Adam.
Heather: You're right. I am. Actions have consequences.
Ricky: Yes... they do.
Heather: Start packing.
Phyllis: She's just listening to me.
Daniel: Yeah, I think so, too.
Phyllis: Oh, my God.
Daniel: How long after she left did--
Phyllis: Did I-- the pain started right away. I started screaming right away. I was screaming the enti-- I was screaming. I was so loud, Daniel, she would have had to be deaf not to hear me.
Daniel: What kind of person would listen to that and not respond?
Phyllis: Somebody like Daisy. Somebody like Daisy, someone who is evil. If she would have come back in there and if she would have gotten me to the hospital in time...
Daniel: Can you send me a copy of this?
Phyllis: Where are you go-- where are you going? Where are you going?
Daniel: Just e-mil me a copy of his. I gotta get someone.
Paul: "Take one tablet daily to control high blood pressure." Valsartan. So if you went away willingly... why wouldn't you pack the meds you need every day? It's a brand-new script.
Ricky: You're just being so unreasonable.
Heather: Oh.
Ricky: You're not even giving me a chance to find a new place to live.
Heather: Oh, no, my--my room at the club will be vacant.
Ricky: (Sighs) A couple days.
Heather: Mm-hmm.
Ricky: That's all I'm asking.
Heather: (Laughs) I'm an assistant D.A. You want to do this the hard way, its fine by me. You want to bet who will win?
Ricky: You're gonna call the cops on me?
Heather: Mm-hmm.
Ricky: You're gonna throw my stuff out on the sidewalk, have me hauled out in handcuffs? Heather, you'd do that? You'd do that to your own brother?
Heather: Brother? (Laughs) I'm sorry, are you kidding me? Clock's ticking. Start filling your suitcases. I'm gonna make sure you didn't damage anything.
Cane: Colin's out of prison?
Lily: When did this happen?
Cane: Why didn't you tell us about this?!
Genevieve: I didn't want to worry you.
Cane: Oh, wow.
Lily: How could you not warn us? He tried to kidnap our children. I mean, wh-what if he's on his way back here?
Genevieve: He's not.
Lily: How do you know that?
Genevieve: (Sighs) Because I've talked to him.
Lily: What--
Cane: When did you talk to him?
Genevieve: Uh, it was quite some time ago.
Lily: When, Genevieve?
Genevieve: He just called me one time, to tell me th-that he had gotten out and to gloat about it.
Cane: And where is he now?
Genevieve: I don't know. I have no idea where he's gone or how to reach him. All I know is that he's not gonna show up here. Coming back to Genoa City would be stupid. It's what got him put in jail.
Cane: (Scoffs)
Michael: Thanks again, and I'll be in touch.
Daniel: Michael. Hey, your, uh, office told me I could find you here.
Michael: Okay, what's wrong? Why are you upset?
Daniel: Um... Mom lost the baby.
Michael: I'm sorry. I didn't know.
Daniel: She hasn't told a lot of people.
Michael: Poor Phyllis. That's why they canceled the wedding.
Daniel: When Nick got her home from the hospital, um, they got married at home.
Michael: Good. Good, at least she has that. Uh, what can I do?
Daniel: (Breathes deeply) You can have Daisy arrested and thrown back in jail, where she belongs.
Michael: Great. What? What did she do now?
Daniel: This is... see, this is security footage from outside of the penthouse, all right? Now Daisy went over there to see Mom before the wedding was supposed to happen, and I guess they got in this big argument, right? Okay, now watch this. This is where Mom tells her to leave and she slams the door on her, and then right after that, Mom's doubled over on the other side. The other side of the door, she's screaming out for help, and look, look, she's standing there. She's listening, Michael, and now-- and now she's gonna walk away? Come on, are you serious? Mom's on the other side of the door, screaming, and she's walking away from--
Michael: Okay, all right, yes, this is an outrage. That's an outrage.
Daniel: Yeah, it is. You know, I-I don't know how someone-- just have her off the streets. Can you get her off the streets? Can you do that?
Michael: Look, I'm as disgusted and--and as appalled as you are, but unfortunately, there's nothing I can do.
Daniel: What the hell are you talking about, there's nothing you can do?
Michael: There's no audio. We have no proof that Daisy heard Phyllis or that she ignored her cries for help.
Daniel: Come on, Michael.
Michael: I want to rip this woman from li-- I am as disappointed in Daisy as you are, but without more to go on, as the D.A., I got nothing. I'm sorry.
Daniel: Yeah. I'm sorry, too.
Michael: Listen. Do you think its okay that I check on Phyllis?
Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, I think you should. She needs her friends right now.
Michael: I'm sorry.
Daniel: Come on, Daisy. "Where are you"?
Lily: I don't care what Genevieve says. Nothing scares a guy like Colin. What's stopping him from coming back here and just finishing what he started?
Cane: And get his family back in the fold.
Lily: Yeah, including his grandchildren-- especially them.
Cane: I'm gonna call Christine. Don't worry, I'm not gonna say anything about Mom or the money. I want to see what she knows about Colin.
Lily: (Sighs) Yeah, you don't trust Genevieve, either?
Cane: No.
Genevieve: Excuse me. I'm looking for Kevin.
Eden: Oh, he's not here at the moment.
Genevieve: Okay, uh, may I use this?
Eden: Oh, sure.
Genevieve: Here is my number. Tell him to call me as soon as possible, okay?
Eden: Okay, I will do that.
Genevieve: It's urgent.
Eden: Okay, I'll give him the message.
Genevieve: Great. Good. Damn it! (Sighs)
Jack: You honestly think this is only about payback?
Ashley: I think a big part of it is, yeah. I also think that you're trying to compensate for being in that chair, Jack. You want to prove that you can take on the world and win. Well, congratulations. You did it. It doesn't mean that every notion that pops into your brain is golden, because this idea of keeping Jabot and Beauty of Nature separate is probably the stupidest idea you've had in years.
Jack: I will decide that.
Ashley: We'll see about that.
Jack: Ash, we are co-CEOs. Equal power. You can't run me out.
Ashley: Not alone, but the board can.
Phyllis: (Laughs)
Michael: I am so, so sorry.
Phyllis: Thanks.
Michael: Come on.
Phyllis: (Chuckles) Ohh, I'm sorry.
Michael: Don't apologize.
Phyllis: I'm an idiot.
Michael: No. I know exactly how sad you must be.
Phyllis: (Voice breaking) I never expected to have a baby anyway. Oh, I just got caught up in, you know, everything, the excitement, and all my hopes and my dreams. Well, it's over. It's gone, so...
Michael: (Scoffs) Shh. Come here, come here. Mm. It's okay.
Eden: Hey.
Daisy: That was quick. My bracelet, yay! You found it.
Daniel: Mm-hmm.
Daisy: Where?
Daniel: You dropped it... right outside of my mom's apartment, right before she had her miscarriage. You want to know how I know that?
Daisy: How?
Daniel: Well, the doorman who found it-- he went and he checked the video surveillance tapes to see who dropped it.
Daisy: Hmm.
Daniel: There's cameras all over that building. Did you know that?
Daisy: No.
Daniel: Well, I have seen the footage, and I watched as you stood there outside that door, listening to my mom while she was curled up on the floor screaming out for help.
Daisy: That is not true.
Daniel: And you could have gone back in there, Daisy. You could have gone back in there. You could have called 9-1-1. You could have told the doorman. You could have told any of the tenants or anybody that you saw in the lobby, but no. M-maybe you could have saved the baby. Who knows? But you chose to walk away. (Drops tablet) You did nothing!
(Knock on door)
Paul: Hey.
Ricky: Dad.
Paul: Got a minute?
Ricky: No, actually, I'm in the middle of packing.
Paul: Packing? How come?
Ricky: Because Heather evicted me.
Paul: So, uh, when did this happen?
Heather: Just now.
Paul: Okay, uh... it is her apartment.
Ricky: She wants me out with zero notice.
Paul: Is that really necessary?
Heather: (Stammers) You can have till tomorrow, but when I come back, I want you gone.
Ricky: So much for sisterly love.
Paul: Yeah, well, forget about that right now. I want to know what you were doing at Tim Reid's apartment.
Michael: Okay. Here we go.
Phyllis: Ooh, tea and sympathy
Michael: Yeah, the real thing, huh?
Phyllis: Mm-hmm. (Chuckles)
Michael: There you go.
Phyllis: Ah, thank you.
Michael: It's hot.
Phyllis: Thanks (exhales slowly)
Michael: So what do you want to do? You want to listen to the radio? You want to watch the television? What?
Phyllis: No. I want quiet. I just want quiet. I've been bombarded with noise. (Sighs)
Michael: You happen to catch the news, by any chance?
Phyllis: Mnh-mnh.
Michael: Tim Reid is missing. It's been in the newspapers, on the radio.
Phyllis: He's missing? What do you mean?
Michael: He didn't show up at work, hasn't been at the apartment. A police report has been filed. You said you went to go visit him recently, right?
Phyllis: Yes, I went. I went and I left.
Michael: Yes. Did he happen to mention that he was gonna leave town or anything like that?
Phyllis: No, Mr. D.A.
Michael: All right. Yeah, aren't I good at it? Okay, I see. Good.
Phyllis: Nick and I got married earlier. Did you hear that?
Michael: Yes, Daniel told me. Congratulations. That's wonderful. Good.
Phyllis: Thank you.
Michael: (Chuckles) Again. (Laughing)
Phyllis: He's being really strong.
Michael: Hmm.
Phyllis: I know he's hurting. He's being incredible.
Michael: Well, you have each other, for better or worse.
Phyllis: Yep. Did Daniel tell you about Daisy?
Michael: He told me, and he showed me the video. It made me ill.
Phyllis: I'm frightened for my son... and for Lucy. Honestly, I'm frightened for anyone who has to deal with that person.
Michael: I wish there was something I could do, legally... legally, to punish her, but without more evidence that a crime was committed, my hands are tied.
Daisy: You weren't there. You don't know what happened.
Daniel: No, no, no. See, I saw the whole thing. Here, here, look. Why don't you watch? Why don't you take a look? And I could see how you just stood there as my mom was losing her child.
Daisy: Daniel, I swear I didn't hear anything.
Daniel: What do you mean, you didn't hear-- you're standing right there! You're listening to her!
Daisy: No!
Daniel: Then why didn't you leave? Why didn't you go to the elevator?
Daisy: I told you, Phyllis and I got in an argument, and I went back to apologize to her, but she was so upset, and I finally decided there was no point, so I left.
Daniel: So you left. You know what? After seeing this, I know in my gut you could hear her screaming.
Daisy: No. Daniel, please, you have to--
Daniel: Oh, no, no, no, no, don't you touch me. Don't touch me!
Daisy: (Sniffles)
Lily: What did Christine say? Is Colin out of prison?
Cane: Yeah, he's out.
Lily: Did he e-escape? I mean, why weren't we told about this?
Cane: All Chris knows is it was a, uh, humanitarian early release. She said he's on the no-fly list, so immigration won't let him cross the border and he can't get back into the country.
Lily: Well, yeah, legally, which is never how Colin operates.
Cane: Look, I am disturbed about this, just like you are, okay? But I'm not gonna live in fear. I'm not gonna turn my house into a fortress and give that man the satisfaction. I'm not gonna do it.
Lily: But, Cane, what happened last time--
Cane: It's not gonna happen again. Come here. It's not gonna happen again. I promise you, Baby. I give you my word. (Sighs)
Genevieve: You son of a bitch. I know what you're doing, and you're not gonna get away with it.
Jack: You're actually talking about firing me from Jabot?
Ashley: If you don't agree to merge the two companies, as per your original plan, or step down from Jabot until that can be accomplished, yes.
Jack: And if I refuse?
Ashley: I'm certain the board will agree with me that there's no way you can run Jabot and its biggest competitor. Look, Jack... if you just step back and look at the big picture, I'm sure you're gonna agree that this is what's best.
Jack: Forget about it. You want to go to the board, go to the board. Bring it on.
Ashley: Gladly.
Ricky: I'm writing a story about Phyllis Newman, and I interviewed Dr. Reid as part of my research.
Paul: What happened?
Ricky: We talked. We had a little wine. The guy has some serious issues with Phyllis, and I'm betting he knows some major secrets. I was hoping to see him again, but then I heard on the news that he's gone missing. Any idea where he went?
Paul: That's what I intend to find out. I'll leave you to your packing. (Sighs)
Daniel: One way or another, I'm gonna find a way to get rid of you, and get you out of my life and Lucy's life for good.
Daisy: (Sobs)
Phyllis: But who am I kidding? This is completely my fault. This is completely my fault. I let my love for Lucy cloud my judgment. I--the position that I put you and Lauren in-- I know I've apologized for this, but really, Michael... what I did to you guys by baiting Daisy to come back into town-- and that's not my only mistake. When--when Daniel said he wanted to marry that crazy person, I should have stopped right away, and I didn't. So now we're all paying the price, aren't we? There's only one thing I can do.
Michael: What, what? I don't like that. What are you-- what are you gonna say?
Phyllis: I'm telling you as my friend... I need to do something to get Daisy Carter out of our lives permanently.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Nikki: I didn't think you'd mind if I rode him first. That sort of thing doesn't seem to bother you.
Heather: Maybe we could call a truce.
Ricky: Wouldn't that be nice?
Paul: Well, guess if anybody would want Reid gone, it would be Phyllis.
Avery: (Scoffs)
