Episode # 9878 ~ Jack & Genevieve Plan for Their Future
Provided By Suzanne
Victoria: This really seems to be our day for running into each other.
Genevieve: Along with most of Genoa city's corporate elite.
Victoria: Are you here to meet with one of them?
Genevieve: No, not at all. I was planning a very solitary lunch.
Victoria: Oh. Well, I'm just having coffee, and you're welcome to join me. Maybe that'll keep the vultures at bay.
Genevieve: Okay. That'll give us a chance to go over some of those production issues, as well.
Victoria: Oh, yeah, great. Well, we can talk about whatever you want.
Genevieve: Mm. I couldn't have planned this one better if I'd tried.
Tucker: I'd like to send a special drink to the woman in the purple coat.
Nikki: Oh, that woman. Why does she have to strut and preen like she's the queen of Egypt?
Jack: Yeah, Genevieve has never been one to shy away from the spotlight. (Drops menu)
Victor: Let me get it for you. There we go. So it was nice of you to... drop jack off.
Nikki: Well, um, yes, and I-I was gonna go, but now that I see Victoria's here, maybe I'll spend a little time with her.
Victor: I think Victoria and Genevieve are having a business luncheon.
Nikki: Well, then perhaps we shouldn't interrupt.
Victor: Uh-huh.
Nikki: Do you want to leave with me?
Victor: No, no. Uh, I'll see you at home, okay? I got some things to deal with.
Victoria: This expansion will reflect really well on you.
Genevieve: It will boost the price when I go to sell.
Victoria: Mm-hmm.
Victor: If you don't mind, I would like a word with you, Genevieve.
Victoria: We're in the middle of something, dad.
Genevieve: I'm sure we can pick that up later, Victoria.
Victoria: Maybe tomorrow.
Genevieve: Sure. Tomorrow, then.
Victoria: Great.
Victoria: Hi, jack. Hi, mom.
Nikki: (Sighs) I cannot believe your father hijacked your meeting like that.
Jack: It was rude and unnecessary, but quintessential victor. Anyone surprised?
Victoria: No, that's true, but I am not gonna sit here and watch. I think I'm gonna go home and check on Chelsea.
Nikki: Oh, I'm gonna come with you.
Victoria: Okay.
Nikki: Jack, I'll see you later, okay?
Jack: Thanks. Thanks.
Nikki: (Makes kissing sounds)
Victor: Don't you think it's prudent to consider all of your options?
Genevieve: And entertaining, as well.
Victor: Well, I suggest you stop playing games and do what is best for you and your company.
Genevieve: Ah. And what would that be?
Victor: You know what that would be-- to sell to me. You and I know damn well that no one is gonna top my offer.
Genevieve: Still, I need to ponder.
Victor: Okay, well, you keep on pondering, and when you so feel like it, just knock at my office door, all right? It's always open.
Adam: Could I have a lunch menu, if you don't mind, and a coffee? (Cell phone rings) (ring)
Adam: This is "man of leisure." How may I direct your call?
Chelsea: Do you have a stir-crazy friend department?
Adam: Um, what do you need?
Chelsea: I need to get out of here--now. We could do lunch, tea. I-I will slog through slush. I don't care--anything!
Adam: Walls closing in?
Chelsea: (Sighs) yes, and they have got ears and they have got eyes. You don't even understand. (Sighs) I could really use some company.
Adam: I'm at the club. Come on down.
Chelsea: Ohh, yes! You have saved my sanity. I just have a couple errands to run, and I will meet you there.
Abby: Are you going someplace? Hey dad. See how the carrots I grow
Genevieve: Only you would send me a wine cooler.
Tucker: Yeah. You used to love those things.
Genevieve: Never seen one served here before. How'd you manage to get it?
Tucker: Well, um, they had to send a busboy out to get it.
Genevieve: Oh, you went to a lot of trouble.
Tucker: I like to go the extra mile.
Genevieve: (Laughs)
Tucker: Why not do it for you?
Genevieve: Yeah, right. Nobody more deserving than me.
Tucker: All this competition for your attention-- bushels of money being thrown at you. (Inhales deeply) you must be eating it up.
Genevieve: You're overstating it.
Tucker: Don't deny it. I know you.
Genevieve: It's been a long time since you've known me, tucker.
Tucker: People don't change that much.
Ashley: Jackie, hi.
Jack: Hey.
Ashley: Mm, I didn't know you were gonna be here. I'm gonna have a seat real quick, okay?
Jack: Yeah, hi.
Ashley: Hi. We have a lot to talk about.
Jack: Well, it's gonna have to be another time. I'm meeting someone.
Ashley: Look, I know this isn't the best place to have an important conversation.
Jack: Okay, good.
Ashley: No, no, no, no, no. Look, I really hate the thought of you even considering that risky surgery. I hate it so much, jack.
Jack: Really? I never would have guessed.
Ashley: And also, I'm never gonna be comfortable with you contemplating having business...
Jack: Ashley, we have to have this conversation at another time.
Ashley: With Genevieve. Look, just do me one favor. I have to get this in before you run away from me. I really need you to stop and consider what you're doing before you make any big decision. Please, just slow down.
Jack: Being tied to this chair has given me a lot of time to think.
Ashley: I didn't mean it like that.
Jack: I may have been injured. I haven't forgotten what I want, and I intend to get it.
Ashley: I understand that, but if you go about it the wrong way--
Jack: As far as beauty of nature goes, everyone else is going to be sorely disappointed...
Ashley: Jack.
Jack: Including your husband over there.
Ashley: Excuse me.
Ashley: Well, hi.
Tucker: Hi. Hey, beauty.
Ashley: Wow, hi.
Tucker: What's up? Hi.
Ashley: This is so interesting, isn't it? Running into each other this way? (Laughs)
Tucker: (Chuckles)
Abby: You had a huge smile on your face, and I was just wondering who put it there.
Chelsea: I didn't realize we were B.F.F.'S now.
Abby: We can't have a friendly conversation?
Chelsea: This seems more like an interrogation to me.
Abby: (Sighs) look, since we are practically roomies--
Chelsea: Ah, that was not my choice, and you even admitted to me that you came here to spy on me, so...
Abby: Mm. I was kind of bitchy about that.
Chelsea: Kind of?
Abby: Can you blame me, given the situation? Upside-- it's gone a lot better than expected, don't you think? Why don't we just be pleasant with each other?
Chelsea: Sure. Actually, I have an idea that would make things really pleasant.
Abby: Excellent. What?
Chelsea: How about you move out?
Abby: No can do. Gotta stick until Billy gets back.
Chelsea: (Sighs) whenever that happens.
Abby: (Sighs) Chelsea, I do get what you're going through, okay?
Chelsea: Really? You've been pregnant and spied on before, too?
Abby: (Laughs) no, but I know what it's like constantly having eyes on you.
Chelsea: Okay, my life is nothing like your vapid reality videos.
Abby: Whoa. Back off dissing my art.
Chelsea: Naked art?
Abby: I'm not the one who got you in this mess. (Footsteps approach)
Chelsea: Wha--
Victoria: Is there a problem?
Victor: Hello, son.
Adam: Hi. You here for, uh, a business lunch?
Victor: No, I'm not.
Adam: Are you meeting Sharon again or something?
Victor: No, I actually came to see you.
Genevieve: Tucker was just saying hello, but if you two have a lunch date--
Ashley: No, we don't.
Genevieve: Oh.
Tucker: Genevieve and I were just discussing her sale of beauty of nature.
Ashley: Oh, really? Well, since I work for the competition, maybe I'd better leave, right? So you can speak privately.
Genevieve: Oh, that's not necessary.
Tucker: No.
Genevieve: I already know what tucker has to offer.
Ashley: Well, don't you work fast?
Tucker: (Clears throat)
Genevieve: I'll be in touch.
Tucker: Yeah.
Tucker: (Sighs)
Chelsea: There's no problem.
Abby: She's right. It's not like, uh, a red alert situation.
Nikki: Well, then what is it?
Abby: Head-butting. It's pretty standard for us. It's not like Chelsea and I were ever going to be besties.
Nikki: Oh, thank goodness, because Victoria and I really had no idea what we were about to walk in on.
Chelsea: Uh, no, like Abby said, there's really nothing for you to be concerned about.
Nikki: Well, then I won't be. My goodness, that baby's coming along.
Chelsea: Uh, yeah. (Laughs) it's crazy how fast he's growing. I feel like every other day, I gain 5 pounds and grow 6 inches.
Nikki: Mm. It won't be long now.
Chelsea: Yeah. He can't come fast enough for me. Anyway, I was just leaving.
Victoria: Oh, Chelsea, uh, did you say that you were out of prenatal vitamins?
Chelsea: Yeah, I'm actually gonna stop by the drugstore. Um--
Victoria: Oh, I--you don't actually have to do that, because, um, I picked some up for you. Here.
Chelsea: Uh, you didn't have to do that, Victoria. I wasn't gonna forget to take my vitamins.
Victoria: Oh, I know, I wasn't trying to imply that. I was just trying to be helpful.
Chelsea: Right. Okay, thanks. Well, I'll see you.
Victoria: Uh, Abby and I have plans, but we'll check back in with you later.
Chelsea: I'm sure you will.
Nikki: I'm sorry, did you say something, Chelsea?
Chelsea: I just said I'll be seeing you. Bye.
Victoria: Bye.
Nikki: Bye. (Door closes)
Victoria: (Sighs)
Adam: So you came looking for me, huh? What do you think I did now?
Victor: Nothing, son. I just merely came to check on you.
Adam: Well, I'm merely super.
Victor: And I'm very glad to hear that.
Adam: Come on, dad. We know there's more to you being here right now.
Victor: There is.
Adam: So say it.
Victor: I'm very glad you got your eyesight back, son.
Adam: You mean that?
Victor: Yep, I do.
Adam: You had, uh... you had a few other opportunities to say that to me before, and you didn't, so why now?
Victor: (Sighs)
Victor: You and I have had our issues, serious issues. I was close to disowning you several times. But I don't wish blindness on my son, and I've been thinking about the epiphany you had.
Adam: About being a better person?
Victor: Yeah. Maybe getting your vision back means that you're on the right path.
Adam: Well... I saw the light, and then I literally saw the light. Can't help but feel like there's--I don't know, like, a connection between the two.
Victor: I'm very glad to hear that you're encouraged.
Adam: Okay. Dad, I have to ask. We're having a great father-and-son talk here.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Adam: Is it because you're genuinely happy for me, or is it that you are afraid that I might slip back into old habits, now that I can see and I'm able to cause trouble again?
Sarge: Jack.
Jack: Hey, Sarge. I'm glad you could join me.
Sarge: Well, we could have met at your house. You didn't have to invite me out to a fancy lunch.
Jack: Well, hey, it's just my way of saying thank you.
Sarge: Uh, if you say so, but if you think I'm going to go any easier on you because of this, forget it.
Jack: Oh, I wouldn't presume you would lighten up on anyone for any reason at all.
Sarge: Is that a compliment or a complaint?
Jack: Maybe a little of both. What are you in the mood for?
Sarge: How about the truth, as always? What's this all about, jack?
Jack: I told you, it's gratitude. I truly appreciate everything that you've done for me in trying to get me back on my feet.
Sarge: Are you about to give up?
Jack: No. I am changing course, though. I am no longer gonna need your services.
Sarge: This is a mistake.
Jack: I've made my decision. I'm going ahead with the surgery that's going to allow me to walk again. (Bell rings)
Victoria: Dad is just doing his thing.
Abby: His "I'm right because I own the world" thing?
Victoria: His "you're a terrible daughter, Victoria" thing.
Abby: Why?
Nikki: Because she wants to buy beauty of nature.
Victoria: Which is exactly what he would do if he was in my position.
Abby: Wait, wait, wait. Where did this happen?
Nikki: Gloworm.
Victoria: He interrupted my conversation with Genevieve and tried to woo her right in front of my face.
Nikki: Totally uncalled-for.
Abby: Wait, I'm--I'm sorry. You would be, like, the perfect owner for beauty of nature. You know that company better than anyone.
Victoria: Thank you.
Abby: You're so plugged into the cosmetics world. I really think you could take it to the iconic level.
Victoria: Thank you. Thank you very much. Would you like to come and work for me once I make the deal?
Abby: Hell no.
Nikki: Ooh, I would say that's emphatic.
Abby: I love my sister, but this is why I didn't go work for Genevieve, okay? I knew how dad would react.
Nikki: He does expect unflinching loyalty when it comes to his family.
Victoria: Hmm, well, what about his loyalty to us?
Abby: It doesn't matter, and I have visited the dark side of victor Newman and I never, ever want to drive by there again.
Victoria: Well, you may not always have a choice.
Nikki: As long as you stay away from his businesses.
Victoria: You don't have to overtly cross dad. I mean, just make a decision that he doesn't like.
Abby: We have been getting along just fine.
Victoria: Have you forgotten how he bullied you over "the naked heiress"? And don't forget our lawsuit.
Abby: Let's not mention it, okay?
Victoria: Look, that was your first big falling-out with dad, but he always, always finds failings with nick and me.
Abby: I'm gonna stick with safe topics, not going to work for or against any of his companies, and peace will prevail.
Victoria: Mm. Well, you know, dad wants to dictate every facet of our lives, and he always will. Right, mom?
Nikki: I have to admit, when it comes to his family, he does require loyalty. However... I will always hope that things will get better.
Victor: So what you're saying is there must be some agenda behind my well-wishes for you. Is that it?
Adam: If past behavior is any indication...
Victor: Son, perhaps you're not the only one who sees things differently.
Adam: A supportive dad-- how novel.
Victor: You don't believe it, do you?
Adam: Let's just-- let's put it this way. Whether or not I believe your sincerity, whether or not you believe mine, it doesn't matter. The point is, I'm trying, but if you're looking for proof, I got nothing.
Victor: You have nothing to prove to anyone... not anyone. Just prove it to yourself. Once you do that, you'll be on the right track.
Adam: I'll remember that.
Victor: I hope that epiphany you had about changing your ways will stay with you. I'll see you around, son.
Chelsea: Mr. Newman. (Scoffs) huh.
Adam: Hey.
Chelsea: Hi.
Adam: What was that, uh, little dance you did with my father?
Chelsea: Oh, you know, just more of the same. All of the Abbotts and the Newmans, except for you, like to treat me like I'm beneath them.
Adam: Of course they do.
Chelsea: (Exhales quickly)
Adam: That's where they think everyone is-- beneath them.
Chelsea: (Sighs)
Jack: I'm sorry. I know this is short notice.
Sarge: Oh, no worries, jack. I've got a full client list.
Jack: Well, that's good.
Sarge: What's good about it is that my clients know they need me. They also know that it takes extremely hard work to achieve their goals.
Jack: You honestly think I'm doing this because I don't want to lift weights?
Sarge: I'm not judging you. I mean, who wouldn't want to blow off years of grueling physical therapy for a couple of hours in surgery?
Jack: If I thought physical therapy would get me out of this chair, I would do the work. I would put in the time.
Sarge: Then do it.
Jack: The surgery is going to do it.
Sarge: You're looking for a quick fix, jack...
Jack: No, I am not.
Sarge: And you want it so bad that you are willing to risk erasing any chance of ever walking again.
Jack: I am taking the best shot I have right now.
Sarge: (Puts hands together) then I guess we're done here.
Jack: Well, I wish you well, Sarge.
Sarge: And I wish you good luck.
Tucker: I kept my word.
Ashley: (Sighs)
Tucker: I didn't act on what you told me about beauty of nature being for sale until I heard it elsewhere. Genevieve told me herself.
Ashley: And then you didn't waste a single second, did you?
Tucker: (Sighs) I honestly don't understand why this surprises you. I've wanted this company ever since I came to town.
Ashley: It doesn't surprise--
Tucker: You even tried to help me get it.
Ashley: It doesn't surprise me, tucker, it disappoints me.
Tucker: Why?
Ashley: (Sighs) I understand that you want beauty of nature, but you don't need it.
Tucker: What does that have to do with anything?
Ashley: You can't understand that it would bother me that my husband is determined to compete with my family's business?
Tucker: This is not personal.
Ashley: (Gasps) it's personal to me!
Tucker: (Sighs) uh, will you just sit down with me for a second?
Tucker: Please, explain that to me.
Ashley: (Sighs heavily) it seems that my feelings don't carry any weight with you.
Tucker: That isn't true.
Ashley: Well, we're married, and I'm starting to think that maybe that means something else to me than it does to you.
Genevieve: I thought you were going to be tied up all through lunch.
Jack: Yeah, my meeting went shorter than anticipated.
Genevieve: It seemed very short to me, and you didn't seem to be having much fun, and the man you were with looked rather perturbed when he left.
Jack: The man I was with was my former physical therapist.
Genevieve: You didn't like him?
Jack: I let him go because I'm having the surgery.
Genevieve: And you have definitely made up your mind?
Jack: I have.
Genevieve: Well, that's rather alarming.
Jack: And the reason I haven't run it by you or Ashley or Nikki is it's not up for debate. It's my decision to make, and I'm not gonna hear any arguments against it.
Victoria: (Sighs) sorry, I just don't see any hope where dad and I are concerned.
Abby: Because of what he pulled with Billy and Chelsea?
Victoria: He paid her to sleep with my husband. You know, I'm sure it's killing him right now that he unintentionally gave Billy and me a baby and my marriage happens to be stronger than ever.
Abby: Hmm.
Nikki: Are things really going well with Chelsea?
Victoria: Yeah, so far, so good, though I'm not gonna let my guard down.
Abby: That guard being me.
Victoria: Yes, you, and thank you so much for being here and helping me keep an eye on things while Billy's gone.
Abby: (Chuckles) all right.
Victoria: I appreciate it.
Nikki: Yeah, you know, I really thought he'd be back by now.
Victoria: Yeah, he's coming back soon. He's gonna try to be back by Easter.
Nikki: Chelsea seemed pretty abrasive with you.
Abby: Oh, other than being generally annoying, she hasn't done anything wrong since I've been here. Maybe we should cut her some slack.
Nikki: Oh, no, absolutely not. We do not give that girl an inch. We don't give her half an inch.
Abby: That's kind of harsh, isn't it?
Victoria: Maybe, but I can't let anything happen to this baby. I mean, Billy and I have been trying to have a family of our own for so long, and it's just been one loss after the other. (Sighs)
Nikki: Not this time, it isn't. Not this time.
Victoria: Mom. So even though Chelsea has toed the line till now, until that baby really belongs to Billy and me, I can't really afford to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Chelsea: Well, thanks for hanging with me, Adam.
Adam: Well, you did say we're friends...
Chelsea: Mm-hmm.
Adam: And I did a little research on that. Apparently, hanging out is one of the major requirements, so come on, tell me, what is the necessity for this emergency get-together?
Chelsea: I don't know if it is the hormones or whatever, but I am having a really hard time keeping it together.
Adam: With Victoria, you mean?
Chelsea: I mean with the deluge that has become my life! I mean, I've bailed myself out of a lot of situations before, but now, it's like... (sighs) I have a father who won't even acknowledge my existence. I have a mother who leaves town without even telling me--
Adam: Well, yeah, but wait, I thought that was a good part, that she left.
Chelsea: (Sighs) my mother and I have always had a very screwed-up relationship. (Exhales slowly)
Adam: Well, at least you and the baby are healthy. There's always that.
Chelsea: That's the other thing--that is the other thing. I've been doing everything I can to take good care of myself and this kid, and Victoria and her family are all over me-- what I'm eating, if I'm sleeping enough, the vitamins. It's like, I've-- Aah! I've never been this claustrophobic in my life.
Adam: Walls closing in, huh?
Chelsea: Yeah, and I'm really, really sick of it. (Sighs)
Adam: Well, what are you gonna do about it? You're not considering taking off before you have the baby, are you?
Genevieve: We don't have to talk about the surgery if you don't want to.
Jack: Thank you. I appreciate that.
Genevieve: Is beauty of nature an acceptable topic?
Jack: Of course it is. Kind of interesting how all of the players were in Gloworm at the same time.
Genevieve: Mm, almost as if we'd planned it.
Jack: I certainly hold no grudge against Victoria. In fact, I feel a little sympathy.
Genevieve: She has been a great C.E.O.
Jack: However, I did enjoy watching tucker and victor suck up to you so shamelessly, knowing they were going to lose.
Genevieve: (Laughs) have you noticed how life becomes infinitely more pleasurable when you've got something that everybody else wants?
Jack: I'm not sure I ever thought about that.
Genevieve: (Laughs) and look where it's brought the two of us. We are about to start a whole new chapter of our lives together.
Jack: Acknowledging that, I have a little surprise for you.
Genevieve: (Chuckles)
Chelsea: I do have serious fantasies-- hot beaches, cold beer, surfing, wearing a bikini again.
Adam: So you are thinking about leaving.
Chelsea: I would love to, but I won't. Truthfully, I just want something to go right for me for once, that's all. Or I want the people in this town for two minutes to stop thinking of me as a cross between the spawn of Satan and the village idiot.
Adam: That's it. I got it.
Chelsea: (Sighs)
Adam: That's why we're friends. You're the spawn of Satan. I'm the devil himself per "restless style," so...
Chelsea: Right! I totally forgot about that. See? I knew we were destined to be a dynamic duo.
Adam: Exactly.
Chelsea: That's it.
Adam: At the very least. Blow it up.
Chelsea: I forgot. (Laughs) (sighs) tell me it'll get better.
Adam: Well... having never been pregnant, I can't speak to that, but, um, I can relate to being under the town microscope, where all your moves are scrutinized.
Chelsea: Well, wh-when did it stop?
Adam: It hasn't.
Chelsea: (Sighs)
Adam: It's like these people here, they make a decision about who you are, and then it's near impossible to--to change their opinion of you.
Chelsea: So how do you deal with that?
Adam: You remember what's important. You know who you are.
Chelsea: I used to. (Chuckles)
Adam: Look, if you're lucky, you got someone, maybe more than one person, but you at least need that one person who sees the good in you.
Chelsea: Well, then I guess I elect you for that.
Adam: Look... do right by the baby, do right by yourself. You don't have to worry about all the rest. Who cares what these other people in this town say?
Victoria: I don't know if I'm in the mood to go out, Abby.
Abby: Ugh.
Victoria: I'm so wiped. (Sighs)
Abby: Oh, all the more reason for shopping mania and a chick flick, and we're seriously running behind schedule.
Victoria: Why isn't Chelsea back yet?
Abby: Uh, it hasn't been that long.
Victoria: Did she say where she was going?
Abby: Um, no.
Victoria: Did you ask her?
Abby: Yes, I did, but I didn't push.
Victoria: Well, why would she be so secretive about it?
Abby: I don't know. It honestly didn't seem like that. I-I think she's just tired of us being all up in her-- her face. I mean, she does have the right to leave. She's not under house arrest.
Victoria: No, but where could she be for so long?
Abby: She probably just wanted to get out, like I do. Let's stick to the plan, end this day in a good place-- shopping.
Victor: You know, I'd rather we talk at home. I have a lot of work to attend to, okay?
Nikki: Victor, you always have a lot of work to do, and this can't wait.
Victor: (Sighs) okay, what is it?
Nikki: I'm very worried about what you're doing to Victoria. You did everything within your power to try to end her marriage to Billy, and that failed, and so now you're going after beauty of nature.
Victor: They are two separate issues.
Nikki: Victor, no, they're not. She's C.E.O. Of the company. That has been her baby since she was here at Newman.
Victor: That company was a very profitable division of Newman enterprises, and I will get it back, okay?
Nikki: At what cost? You're constantly punishing her, and it's got to stop!
Victor: Did you come here to try to stop it?
Adam: Chelsea, hey.
Chelsea: Hi.
Adam: You left your phone...
Chelsea: Oh, my god, ohh!
Adam: At the restaurant. Yeah, I tried to reach you, but...
Chelsea: Pregnancy brain. I've been forgetting all sorts of things. Thank you for this. Oh, my god.
Adam: No problem.
Chelsea: And, um, uh, thank you for the talkrttoo.
Adam: Sure. Use it to call me anytime you want.
Chelsea: Okay.
Adam: Hey.
Chelsea: Wow.
Adam: Are you okay?
Chelsea: Yeah, I'm fi-- (laughs) yeah, I'm--I'm fine. I--whoo! I forget that my center of gravity has shifted since pregnancy. Thank you.
Adam: It's understandable.
Chelsea: That's. (Laughs) it's bizarre. Thank you.
Adam: Take a load off.
Victoria: What are you doing?
Adam: I was just leaving, Victoria. It's no big deal.
Victoria: I told you to stay away from Adam.
Chelsea: He was just helping me inside.
Victoria: The last time Adam was hanging around a pregnant woman, he stole h baby. Is that what you want to happen?
Tucker: Sorry, I had to take that. (Sighs)
Ashley: I understand. Really, I understand. Re (sighs)
Tucker: Listen, beauty, our marriage means just as much to me as it does to you.
Ashley: It seems sometimes that that's not true.
Tucker: I love you. I hope you don't have any doubts about at.
Ashley: Oh, hey, I don't have any doubts about that.
Tucker: But nobody has ever told me how to run my business.
Ashley: I am not trying to tell you how to run your business. That is not what I'm saying.
Tucker: I never have, and I never will try to tell you w to run yours. I know how you'd feel if I did. Am I right?
Ashley: Of course you're right! That's not-- (sighs) don't you see what's happening? What's happening between us? This wall is coming between us now.
Tucker: There doesn't have to be wall.
(Cell phone rings)
Ashley: Uh, sorry. Oh, it's the office. I have to take this. Ashley Abbott.
Tucker: (Sighs)
Victor: I'm not trying to punish Victoria by getting beauty of nature back, okay?
Nikki: Victor, you have so much, and she wants it desperately just let her have it.
Victor: The company was mine. It was stolen from me. I have every right to get it back.
Nikki: Oh, my god, what, are we 6 years old? And what, to hell with your daughter?
Victor: Listen carefully to what I'm saying to you now. Our daughter has a hell of a reputation in business. E has great acumen, all right? Everyone likes her in business. She could have worked for any company she wanted to. but she chose to work with Genevieve Atkinson. she's not that innocent, is she?
Nikki: I ha that our family is at odds. I hate it!
Victor: It'll be all right.
Nikki: Really? Because there doesn't seem to be end in sight.
Victor: When I get back beauty of nature, Victoria can come with it, okay?
Nikki: Oh, my god. I believe you actually think that.
Victor: I do.
Nikki: After everything you've put her through, you think that she's gonna work with you again?
Victor: I certainly hope so.
Nikki: Victor,' don't you understand that you are pushing her farther and farther away? And the way you treated her today, she's gonna fight even harder for beauty of nature.
Victor: She can fight all she wants! That company was mine! It was stolen from me! Just like jack Abbott and tucker McCall, she can fight all she wants. I'm gonna get it back!
Nikki: Oh, my God. Now you're just lumping her in with your other rivals.
Victor: You bet!
Nikki: (Slaps purse) okay. (Stomps feet) I will let you get back to your... work.
Victor: You do that.
Jack: I have made all the arrangements for our wedding.
Genevieve: Really? Do I get to know when and where?
Jack: Next week in Vegas. You em surprised.
Genevieve: (Laughs) I'm deliriously happy. Oh, jack, I'm so excited! (Laughs)
Jack: It is my pleasure. And let's remember, this is our secret until the timing is right.
Genevieve: Okay. But when everybody finds out that we're married and that you own beauty of nature, ooh, there are gonna be fireworks! (Laughs)
Jack: Bring on the noise, I am ready.
Genevieve: (Laughs) I'll be, too. I gotta run, all right?
Jack: Yeah.
Genevieve: I'll let myself out.
Jack: Okay.
Genevieve: (Clears throat) (chuckles)
Genevieve: (Sighs)
Genevieve: Hmm. (Telephone rings)
Victor: Well, Genevieve. I was thinking about you.
Genevieve: You said your door was always open.
Victor: Well, to you, anytime, so come by.
Genevieve: I will. I've got some good news.
Victor: Well, if it's good news, why don't you tell me now?
Next on "the young and the restless"...
Daisy: The restraining order says you have to leave. Sorry.
Phyllis: You're hardly sorry.
Kay: I assume we're talking. About, uh, beauty of nature. You want me to buy it?
Chelsea: You're no better than my mother. You're just using me for whatever you can get.
