Provided By Suzanne
(telephone buttons clicking)
Nick: Thank you.
(Cell phone rings)
Nick: Hey, dad.
Victor: Son, I need you to get in touch with Genevieve Atkinson right away. Tell her that we are ready to move immediately to purchase beauty of nature, all right?
Nick: Okay, yeah. From what you told me, it sounds like the sooner she can wash her hands of this, the happier she'll be. Plus, we don't want Victoria s getting the jump on us.
Victor: She may not be our only competitor. Seems that Genevieve talked to jack Abbott this morning.
Nick: To solicit a bid from jabot?
Victor: I guess so.
Nick: Well, I'm at the club, and she just walked in.
Victor: See what you can find out, okay? Okay.
Nikki: I think you have jumped to the wrong conclusion. Jack would never trust that woman well enough to do business with her.
Victor: Jack Abbott would sleep with the devil if he thought it would help him to best me, which, of course, he never has and never will, okay?
Nikki: (Sighs)
Jack: I've agreed to your terms.
Genevieve: That's about the least romantic acceptance to a marriage proposal I can imagine.
Jack: I'm simply pointing out I have a couple of terms of my own.
Genevieve: Tell me. I want to make you happy.
Jack: No one knows a word of this arrangement until it's a fait accompli.
Genevieve: So... a secret engagement. I like that, and a short one, too, I hope.
Jack: That is my second point. T's get this done right away.
Genevieve: Wonderful.
Genevieve: Uh, you know, there's someone who's here to see me. I'm gonna have to go. I, uh, we'll speak soon. Bye. Hello.
Victoria: I am ready to make you a firm offer for beauty of nature.
Ashley: Oh, come on. Please don't make me regret opening up to you.
Tucker: No, of course not, but if it's true beauty of nature is in play, I've gotta--
Ashley: Well, it is, but not for you.
Tucker: (Exhales slowly) are you telling me I can't act on the information because I heard it from my wife?
Ashley: Yes, because I'm your wife and you love me, and you don't want to see me hurt.
Kay: I see. Well, get ahold of Maureen, get her started on the press releases. No, no, no, he won't be changing his mind. (Chuckles) I'm going to make sure of that this time. Mm-hmm. All right. Ah, thank you.
Harmony: I don't mean to be nosy, but something big going down?
Kay: Neil has finally agreed to return to chancellor.
Harmony: Wow, I didn't know that was in the works.
Kay: Well, it was, then it wasn't, and, uh, now it is. (Sighs) thank god. That company needs him.
Harmony: Was he still waiting till he could get Devon's blessing?
Kay: No, I don't think that was it. I mean, he hasn't even told Devon yet. Why? You--you think that's gonna be an issue?
Neil: I don't quite understand what's going on with tucker. Blowing up at you like he did a few days ago, and now firing you today? What--on what grounds?
Sofia: Nothing that makes any sense.
Neil: Sofia, he's gotta know that he can't run that company thing without you.
Sofia: True, but we shouldn't be talking about this in public.
Neil: Okay, that's fine. Then let's just go home. I--you know what? Let me call Devon.
Sofia: No, look, you don't have to change your plans. No--
Neil: I will tell him that I will meet him later. No, nonsense, let s--wait--
Sofia: No, just look. Look, here--
Devon: Hey, guys.
Sofia: Hi. (Chuckles)
Neil: Well, speak of the devil. I was just calling you.
Sofia: Ugh, this is too much.
Devon: Something wrong?
Sofia: Um, I'll be fine. Husband, I will see you at home.
Neil: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I want--you stay right there in that chair. I-I want to--I want to tell you guys something.
Sofia: What? What is it?
Neil: I wanted to let you know that I've accepted Katherine's job offer. I am the new... C.E.O. Of chancellor industries.
Sofia: (Sighs)
Devon: Huh. I am loving this Greek yogurt.
Kay: Is Devon still that angry with me, do you think?
Harmony: I don't think so.
Kay: No?
harmony: Y-you know, lately, Devon has been all about his music and--and getting over the surgery. That's what we talk about.
Kay: Yes, I know, but, uh... are you still worried about uh, s reaction to Neil coming back to work for , right?
Harmony: (sighs) you know what, Katherine? Devon has just never been good at surprises. I mean, it's-- it's like the operation. Tucker and I, we had e best intentions, getting that arranged, but springing it on Devon out of the blue-- it did not go over.
Kay: Mm.
Harmony: He's just had too many secrets kept from him in his life, you know? Things that he had every right to know, and that was my fault.
Kay: Mnh-mnh. No, sweet lady, I'm just as guilty of that as you are. Oh, god, uh, who could blame him for questioning my motives now? Because that was simply a smart business move. That's all it was-- a smart, smart business move.
Harmony: Katherine, I can understand that.
Kay: (Sighs) yes, but the question is... will Devon?
Neil: You know, son, I believe that Katherine genuinely regrets the way she treated you.
Devon: Oh, man, you don't have to defend your decision to me. I'm behind you, okay? You've always supported me and my career.
Neil: Well, look, I-I mean, this really doesn't have to affect you at all, you know? You don't have to have any more involvement with Katherine than you want to.
Devon: Well, Katherine might have different ideas about that, but it's fine. I can draw my own boundaries if need be, okay? Um, uh, look, congratulations,, and good luck on you-- on your "new" old job, right?
Neil: Yeah.
Devon: Uh, I have to get back to work, though, so I' see you guys later.
Neil: All right.
Devon: Bye.
Neil: (Sighs)
Sofia: He is not loving it.
Neil: No, but I get it. She betrayed his trust. It's very hard to recover from that. Speaking of which, you're going through a very similar situation yourself.
Sofia: (Scoffs) what do you mean?
Neil: Yeah, tucker. Tucker let you down.
Sofia: Neil, I don't want to get into this.
Neil: Listen, I appreciate so much what you did f l me, okay? S helping me sort out my life, my business life with Katherine, figuring out where I needed to be. But now, w your husband wants to return the favor, so let me do that, and I hope--I really hope that you can confide in me.
Sofia: (Sighs)
Ashley: I guess I shouldn't have told you that Genevieve is thinking about selling beauty of nature, but... you're my husband. I-I hate to think that every time I slip up, but I have to be worried that you're going to pounce on it.
Tucker: Look, you don't even want jack to buy beauty of nature.
Ashley: I also don't want him thinking that I'm teaming up with you again. Please don't put me in that position, honestly.
Tucker: Come on. Jack is a businessman. He's--
Ashley: Don't say he would understand, because he wouldn't, not even under normal circumstances. (Sighs) and right now, he's desperate. He nee to know that his family is--is standing by his side and not conspiring behind his back. Tucker, I need him to trust me, so he'll listen to me when I try to talk him out of this ridiculously risky surgery. I don't need him shutting me out, not now.
Tucker: Okay. I won't act on what you've told me.
Ashley: (Sighs) thank you.
Tucker: But if I hear the same news elsewhere, that's a different story.
Ashley: And you're gonna make sure that you do hear it someplace else.
Tucker: It's not the kind of thing that stays quiet for very long, and I always have my ear to the ground. You know that.
Ashley: Why can't you do this for me? I mean, it's not liked. Your empire is gonna completely collapse if you miss one business opportunity!
Tucker: Wow. This is starting to feel like some kind of test.
Ashley: Yeah, and you're flunking.
Tucker: Ashley, listen.
Ashley: No, you know what, Tucker? You don't have to rationalize. Please, don't, because you're just gonna do what you're gonna do, right?
Victoria: I think that you and I understand each other.
Genevieve: Well, I do feel a certain solidarity with you, Victoria, but... (sighs) please don't count on that as having an edge with--
Victoria: No, not at all. I, in fact, think that my offer can stand on its own.
Genevieve: (Gasps) my goodness.
Victoria: And I don't need to go to the board for approval. Unlikely father, I can make this happen today.
Nick: Ladies.
Victoria: Hello, nick. Were you listening to us?
Nick: You know, I did happen to overhear, and I'm glad I did. T I just wanted to make sure you didn't have the impression that there would be any sort of delay if you accepted my dad's offer. He's very eager to move forward.
Genevieve: Yes, so it seems, but I'm in no rush. This is an important decision for me. I'm gonna take my time with it.
Nick: You are considering other offers. I'm assuming jack has shown a level of interest.
Genevieve: (Chuckles) uh, jack and I didn't part well. I don't think he would even speak to me right now.
Nick: Okay. Well, I'll leave you to your conversation see you, Vick.
(Telephone rings)
Victor: Yeah.
Nick: You were right. Something's up. Genevieve did not want to show her cards.
Victor: Keep looking into it. Are you on the way to see jack?
Nikki: Yes, I am, and please don't ask me to do any investigating for you.
Victor: Oh, that would never occur to me.
Nikki: Oh, well...
Sofia: Thanks.
Neil: Mm-hmm.
Sofia: You've had your run-in with tucker. You know how he can be.
Neil: Yes, I do, but u always seemed to know how to handle tucker before now. What--what happened? What changed?
Sofia: I mean, he used to listen to me, value my opinion, but ever since I got back from maternity leave, it's just...
Neil: You're--what?
Sofia: Okay, it's not the whole issue. It's just one example. Do you remember that huge project I was working on before I had little Moses?
Neil: Um... yes, I--the one you were very excited about, Sofia.
Sofia: He canceled it-- no discussion, no warning, nothing.
Neil: Oh, no.
Sofia: We just have different ideas about what my role should be, and I'm tired of arguing with him. I just want to move on to something else.
Neil: I understand, I do. Um... okay, a little piece of advice-- uh, don't make any rash, sudden decisions, right? Why don't you think of this as an extension d of your maternity leave? And--and it gives tucker a chance to cool off, come to his senses. In the meantime, between-time, I got your back, whatever you want to do.
Sofia: I know you got my back, okay? You don't have to remind me.
Neil: All right. (Clears throat)
Sofia: Look, no, baby, I'm sorry.
Neil: Oh.
Sofia: You're the last person I need to take this out on.
Neil: It's okay. Um, I'm supposed to meet a chancellor P.R. Rep at, uh, crimson lights for a meeting. I-I can stay, if you want.
Sofia: You go do what you need to do, and I'm gonna do the same.
Jack: That depends. Is your honeymoon suite wheelchair-accessible?
(Front door opens)
Nikki: Jack, you here?
Jack: Uh, I'm gonna have to get back to you on this. In here.
Nikki: Hi.
Jack: I had a visit from Ashley earlier.
Nikki: Oh, and you're upset that I told her about the surgery.
Jack: If you had presented it objectively, maybe I--
Nikki: jack, I cannot be objective when we're talking about something that has such risk. Nobody who loves you could.
Jack: Nikk, I appreciate your concern.
Nikki: No, you're dismissing my concern.
Jack: This is not your decision to make. It's mine.
Nikki: You're in no frame of mind to make it.
Jack: It is my legs that aren't functioning, not my brain. You and Ashley seem to be confused on that point.
Nikki: Jack, I am just asking you to give yourself time to recover emotionally before you throw yourself into something that you might regret forever, and I'm not just talking about the surgery. I'm talking about Genevieve, too.
Victoria: Hello. (Sighs)
Nick: Hey.
Victoria: So, you know, it really wasn't that long ago that you and I were talking about buying beauty of nature and running it together.
Nick: That was never all that realistic. Dad won't t it go.
Victoria: Well, he already did.
Nick: Temporarily. He is determined to get beauty of nature for rick, and for your sake, I hope he does.
Victoria: For my sake?
Nick: Yes, Vick. It's never a good idea for family members to be competing against each other in business. It's too easy for things to get ugly.
Victoria: Oh, well, I don't think that things could get really any uglier than they are between dad and me right now.
Nick: I'm not so sure about that.
Victoria: Well, that's not a reason for me to give this up.
Nick: (Sighs) Look, Vick, I know how much beauty of nature means to you. You took it when it was a virtual unknown and turned it into a worldwide success, but, Vick, you can do that with any other company. You owning beauty of nature-- it just means that you're gonna be locked in bate with dad until the day he dies. Is that what you want?
Victoria: I told you that it isn't.
Nick: Then why haven't you backed off?
Victoria: I really think you need to sit down and ask yourself why you're really doing this.
Tucker: Scotch, neat. (Sighs)
Genevieve: Well, my goodness. I can't remember when I was this popular.
Tucker: I can.
Genevieve: (Laughs) well, thank you, but we're not here to reminisce, Where were we? I bet you're here to weigh in on victor's bid on beauty of nature.
Tucker: Oh, you're entertaining offers? It's the first I've heard of it.
Genevieve: Hmm. Well, I happen to know that you voted in favor of Newman selling the company, So I can't see that you'd want them to buy it back now.
Tucker: Forget about Newman. Ball to me.
Victor: All right, let's wrap it up. Just show me that you can duplicate those results on a larger scale, and then we'll do business, all right? Okay. Nice to see you.
Victoria: (Sighs) hello. Um, I just ran into nick.
Victor: Mm-hmm, okay.
Victoria: Well, he's worried about the strain on our family if we own competing companies. I think he has a point.
Victor: Does that mean you're gonna withdraw your bid to get beauty of nature?
Victoria: No... but I hope you believe me when I say that I'm not doing it to spite you or to get in your face. Bu it's just that I feel like I've invested a lot of myself in this company, and I want to see where I can take it.
Victor: Mm-hmm. I see.
Victoria: And I also hope that you'll reconsider this new cosmetics start-up, because from a business standpoint, it really doesn't make any sense. And as far as the family goes, I think nick's right. It's just asking for trouble.
Victor: In other words, you're asking me to back down, but you have no intention.
Victoria: Dad, I just wish that we could call a truce or something.
Victor: Well, your actions say something different. Excuse me.
Genevieve: So is there anyone in Genoa city who doesn't want to buy beauty of nature?
Tucker: Well, they're not after the company. You know that, right? This one wants revenge, that one, vindication. Yeah, they've all mastered the art of expressing their deepest, darkest selves through commerce.
Genevieve: Hmm. And you?
Tucker: I just know a good thing when I see .
Genevieve: So there's nothing personal in it for you?
Tucker: Well, it's always a pleasure to do business with an old friend...l, versus having to watch your back every second, like you do with all the other major players in this town.
Genevieve: Mm. Well, thank you. This has been very enlightening. I'll keep your interest in mind.
Tucker: Before you go, t me enlighten you a little bit further.
Genevieve: (Chuckles) really?
Tucker: Just indulge me.
Genevieve: All right. Al
Tucker: There you go.
Genevieve: Wow.
Tucker: You know a good thing when you s it, too, don't you?
Genevieve: Yes. Yes, indeed, I do. (Chuckles) but, uh, money isn't everything, tucker.
Tucker: what else are you looking for?
Genevieve: You'll know soon enough.
Ashley: I love the concept. Let's run with it. Okay, thanks a lot. Hey, there.
Nick: Hey.
Ashley: (Sighs)
Nick: Sorry to drop by unexpectedly.
Ashley: Yeah, it's good to see you. I don't have a lot of time, though.
Nick: Uh, this shouldn't take long. I'm sure you've heard Genevieve Atkinson is making the rounds, trying to gauge the level of interest for beauty of nature.
Ashley: Yeah, I haven't spoken to her myself, though.
Nick: Well, jack has, and my father and Victoria. This could escalate to no-holds bidding war, and that's not good for anyone.
Ashley: Do you see any way around it?
Nick: I gotta believe that we can find one if we work together.
Ashley: Have a seat. Here.
Devon: (Chuckles) what-- what brings you by, Katherine?
Kay: Well, you must know by now that your, uh, your father's coming back to work for me. I just wanted to know how you feel about that.
Dev: Right. He mentioned that, but right now is probably not the best time for me to talk things over 'cause I can't hear, and reading lips doesn't cut it for long conversations.
Kay: Let's not, let that: Stop us.
Devon: I didn't know you knew how to sign.
Kay: I didn't. I learned... because I wanted... to talk... to my grandson. (Chuckles)
Nikki: What you have been through is so traumatic, having to deal with Genevieve on top of all of that is--
Jack: Is what? Too much for me to handle?
Nikki: I just don't know why you would o-- put yourself through it, not when you have so many adjustments to make.
Jack: I don't intend to make any adjustments. I am taking control of every aspect of my life. If you have a problem with--
(front door opens)
Jack: Is somebody there?
Genevieve: It's just me. Now that we offi--Oh.
Nikki: You were saying?
Genevieve: I can just imagine what you were saying. Warning you about my feminine wiles?
Jack: Yeah, that's about e size of it.
Nikki: So tell me, what is your opinion of this surgery jacks considering? I'm sorry. Maybe he hasn't to you about the tremendous risk he could be taking.
Genevieve: What is she talking about? What risk?
Jack: (Sighs)
Harmony: Well, you know, maybe it might be better for Sofia and tucker to part ways if they ain't feelin' it. She could always come work, for you and Katherine.
Neil: Mm, that's interesting. The thought did cross my mind.
Harmony: And you all worked well together before, right? When tucker m took over chancellor?
Neil: You heard about that? Sofia and I, we did work together, but we--we butted heads a lot, so...
Harmony: Oh, well, well, then you don't want to go down that road again. Gotta keep the marriage first, ahead of career... or so I've heard. Mm, I ain't exactly an expert on either topic.
Neil: Mm-hmm.
Harmony: But congrats on the new gig.
Neil: Thank you. Appreciate that. Yeah, it looks like I'm gonna hit the ground running. You know, the P.R. Person that I was sitting down with when you walked in has got me booked solid with interviews.
Harmony: Uh, uh. Yes, well, that's all well and good, but what you gonna do to celebrate?
Neil: Coffee, decaf.
Harmony: Oh, not even with any caffeine?
Neil: Mnh-mnh.
Harmony: You know what? You need to stop trippinar, cause I have seen you cut a nyol.
Neil: Mm-hmm.
Harmony: Well, a little bit, anyway.
Neil: Yeah, my name's Bennett. I ain't in. I plead the fifth.:
Harmony: Uh-huh, all right, I see, so now you're all "Mr. Suave too-coolin C.E.O. Man," huh? You're too dignified to have any fun. You know, there's a word for that.
Neil: Yeah, "maturity."
Harmony: No, you ain't mature. You're repressed.
Neil: What?
Harmony: That's right, I said it. (laughs)
Neil: (Laughs)
Sofia: I' changed my mind. I can't go through with this plan.
Tucker: What's the problem?
Sofia: Lying to Neil. I'm not okay with it.
Tucker: So don't lie to him. Evade.
Sofia: That's not gonna fly. He's really concerned for me-- like, more than I thought.
Tucker: Well, that should make you feel good.
Sofia: (Sighs) yeah, but it makes me feel guilty. Besides, look, your plan wasn't gonna work. Victoria turned me down when I asked her for a job, so you weren't gonna have your eyes and ears inside of beauty of nature. Look, why don't we just tell everyone we worked everything O.? And then that'll be the end of it.
Tucker: Sorry, darlin'. It's not that simple.
Devon: I told my dad at he has my support.
Kay: But... you think he's made the wrong, um...s
Devon: Choice? It's a choice?
Kay: Choice.
Devon: , I don't think he's making the wrong choice. It's just, he's forgiven you, And he thinks at you've learned your lesson. Me, on the other hand-- I'm--I'M... I'm just not there yet, as much as I'd like to be.
Kay: You have all the time in the world, Devon. I do not.
Harmony: You know, you weren't such a dud in Dallas.
Neil: Is that how you see me?
Harmony: Oh, is it just me. I thought Devon was gonna go into shock watching you get your groove on. When's the last time somebody seen you dancing.
Neil: Well, um... new year's. See, Sofia and I went-- were going out for new year's eve. Yeah.
Harmony: And?
Neil: And, um, well, you know, it's-- we ended up watching the twins instead. It--it w-wasn't my idea. Sofia actually insisted on it. She--
Harmony: Uh-huh, yeah, yeah, so now--now you're gonna blame you woman.
Neil: Well, no, the--the fact is, I get more satisfaction, more joy, out of being with my family, than going out and, you know, what did you s--"cuttin' a rug," dance, whatever. I do! It's just--it's how I'm wired. That's all. It's what--
Harmony: Yeah, yeah, but you know what? Being responsible is good, but it's like anything else in life.: Yeah you gotta have some balance. It's like when I first started goin' to meetings, I just knew it was gonna be full of people who partied too hard but they just got just as many folks in there to work too hard. They don't even know how to play.
Neil: I know how to play.
Harmony: You know how to play? (Chuckles)
Neil: Yeah.
Harmony: Yeah, sure you do.
Neil: I'm very serious.
Harmony: Exactly.
Neil: Okay. Okay, look, um, tomorrow, tomorrow morning, I am--I'm gonna walk out of the house and I'm gonna wear a big red clown nose, and that will all that make you feel better?
Harmony: No, but it might do wonders for you, 'cause I know, underneath that stiff white collar and that no-nonsense attitude, there is a real fun guy, and I want to be there when you finally let him out.
Sofia: Ohh, so that's what Victoria meant when she said things were "in flux" beauty of nature.
Tucker: Yeah, and it's a good thing she didn't hire you, because where I need your eyes and ears now is at Newman.
Sofia: Newman? Tucker, I told you, I don't want to--
Tucker: Listen to me. It's not gonna be long-term.
Sofia: You say that now.
Tucker: I mean it. M (quietly) Sof, listen to me. I need your help on this. I just need you to get inside long enough to find out what they're offering Genevieve, so I can adjust my bid accordingly.
Sofia: (Sighs)
Genevieve: This surgery sounds like something you would only do once you've exhausted every other possibility.
Jack: (Sighs)
Nikki: I agree.
Genevieve: I don't think you gave physical therapy a fair shot.
Jack: I could do that for years and get no results.
Nikki: But at least you wouldn't be any worse off. If the surgery fails, there's not a chance you could walk again.
Jack: I have to be somewhere.
Nikki: Jack. Jack! (Sighs)
Genevieve: I'll talk to him. (Laughs) well, isn't that what you wanted when you shared this information with me, so I would use my influence?
Nikki: Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you had any.
Genevieve: Ohh, come on, Nikki. Jack knows that I care about him, and I am gonna be a part of his life, so you might as well just get used to it.
Nikki: Well, if you're going to be a part of his life, you had better get used to the fact that I will be watching you like hawk. I don't trust you, and I will never let you hurt jack again.
Kay: I ho I'm not coming across, um...
Devon: What?
Kay: How--how-- how do you say, uh... "pushy"?
Devon: Pushy-- you're--no, you're not-- if you think you're coming off pushy, you're not coming off pushy at all.
Kay: I'm so proud of you.
Devon: (Exhales slowly) what do you say...
Kay: I... (laughs) I'm just starting on this language. Why don't--start--
Devon: Okay.
Kay: What--what--
Devon: I said, what do you say that wert-- start over, wipe the slate clean?
Kay: Oh, no, that's too easy. Let's see, um, forgive, but not forget?
Devon: Okay.
Neil: well, you know, I-I'm kind of flattered that, uh, that you think there's hope for me, right? That I'm not gonna be-- what is it, a dud? A dud all my life?
Harmony: That depends on you.
Neil: "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood," huh?
Harmony: An A.A. Leader back in Minneapolis loved that Robert frost poem. He ended every meeting with it. "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by."
Neil: "And that has made all the difference."
Neil: (Clears throat) um, you know, I, uh, I-I better go. I gotta get-- I gotta go to the office, so...
Harmony: Get that nose to the grindstone.
Neil: Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's it. (Sighs)
Harmony: Well, um, good luck on your new job. I'm happy for you, and I hope everything works out okay with Sofia.
Neil: Yeah. Yeah, me--me, too. (Sighs) sorry, I gotta go. Bye. Thanks
Harmony: Bye.
Ashley: I actually don't know w far jack's discussions with Genevieve have gone. He hasn't shed that with me.
Nick: But you are coheading jabot.
Ashley: Yes, and I had a very strong reaction when I found out he was speaking with her at all, given the way that she treated him. (Sighs) he didn't like it very much that I was questioning his judgment.
Nick: So whatever he's doing, he's doing on his own. (Intercom buzzes)
Ashley: Excuse me. Yeah? Okay. All right, I'll be right there. I'm sorry, nick. I gotta cut this short. I gotta check on something.
Nick: (Sighs) No problem. Ashley, let's, uh, let's stay in touch on this, okay? I'd really hate to see things get out of control.
Ashley: Yeah, you and me both. Can you see yourself out?
Nick: Yeah. Thank you.
Ashley: Okay. Bye.
Nick: Bye.
Tucker: Hello, victor.
Victor: Tucker.
Tucker: You know, I, uh, ran into Genevieve earlier.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Tucker: She tells me you're in discussions to buy back beauty of nature.
Victor: (Sighs) mm-hmm. Hmm. That sale should never have taken place.
Tucker: Well, I still think it's a bad idea for Newman.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Tucker: I'm gonna share that with the board.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Tucker: I'd be surprised if you get the votes to authorize the purchase.
Victor: Won't be a problem, tucker.
Victoria: So I hope yore having fun in L.A. Shooting t pilot. (Sighs) and by the time you come back, I might be the new owner of beauty of nature. I have to go toe-to-toe with my dad, but I've done it before, and I came out on top, so... I can do it again.
Nikki: Do you need anything else?
Jack: No, I'm fine. Ng victor: I didn't realize you were going to be here.
Nikki: Well, I didn't, either, but jack needed a ride.
Jack: A situation I plan to remedy.
victor: Mm-hmm. Looking forward to regain your independence?
Jack: When I want something, I get it.
Victor: If you're referring to beauty of nature, then I'm afraid you're gonna be disappointed.
Jack: We'll see.
(footsteps approaching) I
Victor: Sooner rather than later.
On the next "The young and the restless"...
Ashley: You can't understand that it would bother me that my husband is determined to compete with my family's business?
Adam: Are you meeting Sharon again or something?
Victor: No, I actually came to see you.
Jack: I have a little surprise for you.
