Proofread By Emma
Billy: Thank you, thank you. (Slams receiver down) All right. So Rafe is gonna draw up a contract, and once we sign it, the money'll be transferred into your account.
Victoria: Ohh, and "Restless Style" will be yours again. That's great.
Billy: Aah! Thank you for doing business.
Nick: Sure.
(Cell phone rings)
Nick: Nick Newman. Hey, Greg. What's up?
Billy: (Giggles)
Nick: What? Hey, can you guys turn on your TV?
Billy: Yeah.
Nick: All right, thanks for calling. Dad's been arrested.
Man: Billionaire Victor Newman confessed to the murder of his ex-wife Diane Jenkins. Mr. Newman turned himself over to authorities at his ranch earlier today.
Billy: Didn't see that one coming.
Nick: That's 'cause it's ridiculous. No way would Dad kill Diane.
Victoria: Why would Dad confess?
Nick: I don't know, but we gotta get to the police station.
Victoria: I'm sure that Michael is with him, and we should get to Mom, because this is gonna hit her really hard.
Nick: Yeah, let's go see her first. I'll drive.
Victoria: Okay. Bye.
Billy: Bye.
Nikki: Ohh. (Sighs) Victor? Victor, are you here?
Deacon: Sorry, it's just me.
Nikki: What the hell are you doing here?
Deacon: Uh... I brought you home. Don't you remember what--?
Nikki: Get out of here.
Deacon: Nikk, Nikk--Nikki, come here.
Nikki: Get out!
Deacon: Let me help you. Let me help you, please.
Nikki: I don't need any help, and I don't need your help. You can't help me!
Deacon: Honey, you know what? I'm the only one who can help you.
Nikki: God!
Ronan: I can't remember a time taking a more detailed confession, especially with somebody with such a nasty hangover.
Victor: My head may be pounding, but I... can still think straight, okay? I just didn't want there to be any... (Exhales quickly) Misunderstanding.
Ronan: Well, if your son confirms your story, there won't be.
Paul: Thanks. All right, I just-- I'm sending it over now.
(Hangs up phone)
Adam: I got a message from Detective Malloy.
Paul: He wanted me to take your official statement on what you saw in the park the night Diane Jenkins was murdered.
Adam: You mean my eyewitness account of my father killing her?
Paul: I mean the truth.
Ronan: It's your statement. If it's true... sign it.
Michael: I'd like to have a moment with my client--alone.
Michael: All right, all right. Tell me. Now is the time to tell me what's going on.
Victor: Not now and not here. Now give me the statement.
Michael: Victor--
Victor: I said give it to me now, okay? I know what I'm doing.
Adam: Why would I lie?
Ronan: Because you're Adam.
Paul: And you tried to frame Victor for murder before.
Adam: Well, if you don't want to hear what I have to say--
Ronan: Wait. I do. Just wait here a second. Jake, don't forget Mr. Newman.
Michael: This could mean years in prison, Victor, maybe the rest of your life. You've got to li--
Victor: This, Detective Malloy, is my confession for Diane Jenkins' murder, signed, okay?
Ronan: Take him away.
Daniel: Oh, can you, uh, keep this warm?
Eden: Yeah.
Daniel: I'll be right back. Hey.
Lily: Hey.
Daniel: How you doin'? You lookin' for someone?
Lily: Um, yeah, I'm actually looking for Cane.
Daniel: Well, I don't think he's here right now. You want to sit with me?
Lily: Um, sure. Oh.
Daniel: So... (Clicks lips) How are you? How are the kids? How's life?
Lily: Uh, good, you know, busy. Kids are amazing.
Daniel: Mm-hmm, and life?
Lily: Life--I feel like I can actually breathe for the first time, you know? And I can actually walk outside of my house and not feel like someone's gonna hurt me or my children, so that's good. (Chuckles)
Daniel: Happy looks good on you.
Lily: Well, it wouldn't have happened without Cane.
Daniel: You know, Lily, you may trust the guy, but I still don't.
Billy: Hey.
Cane: Hey.
Billy: You got a second?
Cane: Sure. What's up?
Billy: You know, I didn't get a chance to say thank you for making that Myanmar trip for me. Not exactly a fun vacation spot.
Cane: Yeah, well, uh, you know, considering the whole point of going was to find that girl Chelsea, um... (Clicks lips) I didn't get much business done, but--
Billy: Yeah, it's all right, it's all right. You did one better. You found Mom and Vicki. Who knows what would have happened if you didn't?
Cane: Huh. Well, I got a feeling those two could have, uh, taken care of themselves.
Billy: Yeah, I'm sure they'd agree with you. But I'm glad you found 'em just the same.
Jack: There was a time I imagined us spending every evening this way-- sharing wine, talking.
Emily: Yeah, it's hard not to think about how different our lives might have been if, uh, Patty... but she did.
Jack: I didn't mean to bring up a bad memory. I--
Emily: No, it--it's okay. It's hard for you, too, remembering those times.
Jack: Suddenly and strangely as Patty appeared, she disappeared.
Emily: So I take it that you haven't heard from her since she escaped from the mental hospital? No? Mm.
Genevieve: Myrna.
Myrna: Hmm?
Genevieve: (Sighs) I know you don't like being out in public, but I do think it's good for you.
Myrna: Oh, I don't know about that.
Genevieve: (Laughs) Look, it's just a few errands. I wrote you a list, okay? I'm gonna go to Jack's house. I'll be there. Meet you back at the house?
Myrna: Uh... yeah. Okay, then. I guess I better get going, then. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Genevieve: Myrna? What's the matter?
Myrna: It's just I'm... feeling a bit dizzy and--
Genevieve: Okay, look...
Myrna: (Sighs)
Genevieve: Just stay seated, take a deep breath, have a little bit of cold water.
Myrna: Okay. Okay. (Breathes heavily)
Jack: No, not since Patty called from South America to talk to her brother has anyone heard from her.
Emily: Oh. Well, I have to confess that the doctor part of me thinks it's a shame, but the rest of me is just so relieved. Is that so terrible?
Jack: After what she put you through, hardly. Can I get you a tissue or something? I--
Emily: I'm sorry. No, I'm okay, I'm okay. (Sniffles)
Jack: You know what throws me? I--
Emily: (Clears throat)
Jack: I don't know how Patty looks out for herself that far away from home.
Emily: (Sniffles) I think its better that she stays far away from here. It'll be easier for her to cope.
Jack: You mean, far away from Victor.
Emily: Oh, Jack. You and I did our fair share of damage to her.
Jack: Unintentionally.
Emily: I know.
Jack: He brought her to town to hurt me, and in the process, my-- my niece Colleen... you know, I still look at my sister Traci and wonder if she'll ever lose that pain in her eyes.
Emily: I am so sorry.
Jack: My God, so much was lost.
Emily: Just move forward.
Jack: Move forward.
Emily: I should go.
Jack: (Stammering) Wait. Could you--could you stick around a bit longer? I'd-- I'd love for you to meet someone. She's helped me move forward.
Emily: (Sighs) I--you have me curious.
Jack: Then you'll stay?
Emily: Yeah... (Sniffles) Sure, for a little while.
Genevieve: Okay, Myrna, listen, why don't you do the errands tomorrow? Right now--right now, just go back to the house and get some rest.
Myrna: Oh, no, it's-- I don't--I don't think I can do it on my own, I don't, I--
Genevieve: It's gonna be okay. I will call you a cab. I really believe that once you're back inside the house and you feel safe and secure, you're gonna be just fine. All right? Come on now, 'cause I've gotta get going.
Myrna: (Whimpers)
Genevieve: I'm already late for my date with Jack.
Myrna: I just don't feel good. I can't do it.
Genevieve: It's okay.
Michael: Okay, we're alone. Attorney-client privilege in effect, all right?
Victor: (Inhales deeply) That's what I'm counting on, okay?
Michael: This has to do with Nikki, doesn't it?
Victor: She admitted to killing Diane Jenkins. She got drunk, and she told me.
Michael: That's why you confessed.
Victor: Yeah.
Michael: Why didn't you come to me? Why didn't you come to me, Victor, first before--
Victor: There was no-- there was no time, okay? The cops were at the door, ready to arrest her, so... I had to act quickly.
Michael: (Laughs) Oh, God. Of course you did. I don't know if I can get you out of this one.
Victor: All I want you to do now is help me sell this to Malloy.
Michael: That you're guilty.
Victor: Nikki is very, very fragile, very fragile, so under no circumstances must we allow Malloy to go after her, all right?
Michael: You're gonna have to con--
Sharon: Victor, look me in the eye and tell me that you killed Diane.
Adam: I was walking along the path near the footbridge. I heard some noises that sounded like struggling.
Paul: And what did you do?
Adam: I tried to get a little bit closer. See what was going on, see if there was anything I could do. It sounded like someone was in trouble, and I was a little too late. Victor was already bashing Diane's head in with a rock. There was nothing I could do.
Paul: (Scoffs) You could have called the police.
Adam: All the times I've been brought in here for questioning, and I've told you that it was my father that did it--
Paul: You know what? If you had told us that you actually witnessed the murder, that might have made a difference.
Adam: And you would have just believed me? No. I had to wait until my father was trapped in a corner and confessed. Then I could tell you what I saw with my own eyes. Then you would believe me.
Nikki: (Sighs)
Deacon: You feeling better?
Nikki: Look, I meant what I said. I don't need your help, okay?
Deacon: Yeah, I think I'm gonna go back and get you some more coffee.
Nikki: Oh, whatever.
Victoria: Oh, Mom. Good, you're here.
Nikki: Hi.
Victoria: Hi.
Nikki: Uh, what is it? What's going on?
Nick: We just heard the news.
Nikki: What news?
Deacon: (Sighs)
Nick: What the hell are you doing here?
Deacon: Look, your mo--
Nikki: Its okay, it's okay. He drove me home from a meeting.
Deacon: Yeah, it was kind of a rough meeting, and your mom really wasn't in any shape to drive, so I brought her home.
Victoria: Okay, well, thanks. We'll take care of her now.
Deacon: Okay.
Nikki: Thank you, again, for--for your help.
Deacon: Anytime.
Nikki: Mm-hmm.
Nikki: So, um... what is this news?
Nick: There's no easy way to say this. Dad just confessed to Diane's murder.
Billy: I am quite positive you helped me out because of Mom and Delia, but I do appreciate it.
Cane: Yeah, well, you know, Victor, you know, forced you to make some impossible choices with your family, so...
Billy: Yeah.
Cane: Yeah.
Billy: He got in my head. He almost broke me. He had me halfway out of town before I, uh... remembered what you said.
Cane: "I'm not gonna serve you"?
Billy: That's right.
Cane: Oh.
Billy: At Jimmy's. "I'm not gonna serve you." I wanted to drown myself in scotch and sorrow, and had to go halfway around the world and back before I realized I'm gonna lose everything, and I finally got the message.
Cane: Well, it's better late than never.
Billy: I owe you.
Cane: I'll just put it on your tab.
Lily: You can't blame Cane because his dad's a criminal.
Daniel: No, no, I can't, but you know what I can blame him for? I can blame him for lying to you and I can blame him for trying to drag you into that life.
Lily: Okay, he made some mistakes, okay, but I... (Sighs) I forgave him, Daniel, okay? And I wish that you would, too.
Daniel: Well, if you want to be with him, there's nothing I can do about that, but I don't have to get behind it.
Nikki: I can't believe your father did this.
Nick: That's because he didn't, Mom. It's not possible.
Nikki: I have to go to him.
Nikki: Yes, could you please bring a car up? Thank you. Are you gonna go to the station with me?
Victoria: I'm sorry. I'm--I'm not going.
Nikki: Victoria, your father needs all of us.
Victoria: I'm sorry, okay?
Nikki: Well, you're gonna go, aren't you?
Nick: I'll meet you there.
Nikki: (Sighs) All right, will you please talk to your sister?
(Door slams)
Victoria: I'm not changing my mind.
Sharon: You can't say you killed Diane because it isn't true.
Victor: Yes, it is.
Sharon: Then it was an accident, or it was self-defense.
Victor: No, it wasn't.
Sharon: Victor, you wouldn't kill someone in cold blood. Diane had a child. You were close to Kyle. There's no way you did this. What's going on?
Victor: You have to accept what I'm telling you, okay? And now you must go.
Sharon: No. No, I will not walk away, not after the way you stood by me. You did everything in your power to free me when I was accused of a murder I didn't commit, and now you're confessing to one I know you didn't do. Why, Victor?
Lily: Hey.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: I thought you stood me up.
Cane: I ran into this guy.
Billy: Hello. Mm. (Growls)
Lily: Hi. Welcome home.
Billy: Thank you, and, uh, thank you for helping out with DeeDee while I was AWOL.
Lily: Yeah, um, I heard something about you donating bone marrow or something, and it wasn't really Kevin?
Billy: Yeah, yeah, that's a very long story, and not shockingly, I also got into a lot of trouble in Myanmar. Your mate here was trying to get me out of it.
Lily: Wait, Billy's the reason you left the country?
Cane: Yeah.
Emily: Oh, my God. (Sniffles) Did you get a cat?
Jack: The woman I'm seeing gave Kyle a stray. It's missing right now, but apparently he was around long enough to leave a few fur balls.
Emily: Oh, well, this confirms that it's really me, then. (Laughs)
Jack: Can I get you an antihistamine or something?
Emily: (Sighs) Oh, no, no. You know what? (Sniffles) I should be going. I need to get back to Chicago, and I'm so terribly sorry I missed your friend.
Jack: I'm glad you stopped by.
Emily: Yeah, me, too. (Sighs) (Sniffles) Well, Jack, take care.
Jack: You take care, too.
Emily: (Sighs) Okay.
Jack: I'll walk you out.
Emily: Ohh. (Sniffles) Whoops!
Jack: Oh, I'm sorry.
Emily: Oh, thank you. (Sniffles) Ohh.
Jack: (Sighs) (Sighs) Okay, Dave, come out, come out, wherever you are. If it weren't for Kyle, you could stay lost.
(Doorbell rings)
Jack: Oh, Genevieve. Uh, come in, uh...
Genevieve: You were expecting me, right?
Jack: Uh, yeah, yeah. Uh, you--you just missed-- you know what? Never mind. Never mind. I've actually been looking for Dave.
Genevieve: Oh.
Jack: He is missing. The wily cat gave me the slip.
Genevieve: Uh-huh. You know what? Now I'm getting a little curious. Hmm. Who'd I miss?
Nick: Vick, come on. You don't want to know what's going on with Dad?
Victoria: I know what's going on with Dad. Dad confessed to Diane's murder.
Nick: You know, you got every right to be mad at Dad for what he did to Billy, but you can't possibly believe that he would do something like this.
Victoria: Well, I didn't expect him to keep a sick little girl's father away from her, either. What kind of man does that? Maybe the kind of man that-- that kills his ex-wife in a fit of rage.
Nick: Well... (Sighs) All right. If you don't want to come to the police station for Dad, then come for Mom, all right?
Victoria: (Sighs)
Nick: She needs us.
Victoria: Okay, well, Mom knows that I will always be there for her.
Nick: But not Dad.
Victoria: Billy spent all that time in jail because of Dad, so let's see how he likes it.
Sharon: Victor is an innocent man, and I am gonna prove it...
Michael: Listen to me, Sharon.
Sharon: I don't care what it takes.
Michael: You have no idea what you're up against.
Sharon: (Sighs)
Adam: A little role reversal. You're here to rescue Victor.
Ronan: We'll call you if we need anything, Adam.
Adam: Yeah, or we could just hang out, Ronan.
Sharon: What was he doing here?
Paul: Confirming Victor's confession.
Ronan: He claims that he saw Victor kill Diane.
Sharon: Oh, my-- you don't believe him, do you?
Nikki: Look... (Sighs) I won't let you do this for me.
Victor: Baby, listen to me. You were drunk that night. Your memory of what happened isn't clear. Mine is.
Nikki: So you know the truth.
Victor: The truth is that things are where they should be.
Nikki: Why should you pay for something that I did?
Michael: Thank you, Guard. Nikki.
Nikki: (Sighs)
Victor: Look, Michael is a very good lawyer, one of the best in the country, and he will work with the D.A. to make sure I get a fair sentence, okay?
Nikki: For a crime that you didn't commit.
Victor: I am guilty, period.
Nikki: I don't believe you, and I don't think Michael believes you. Do you? Michael, will you please talk to him? Tell him that you're not believing a word of this and you're not gonna go for it.
Michael: Victor is a man of honor. He would never say or do anything that he didn't feel in his heart was right.
Nikki: Oh, my God. I was there. I was there that night in the park, a-and... Victor says I don't remember. That might be true, but I do remember some, maybe not all, and I remember seeing Diane. And when I woke up, that rock was by my hand, and there was blood on it. There was blood on me.
Victor: But you don't know what happened in between, and I do.
Nikki: Plea--will you please talk to him.
Michael: Victor and I have discussed this.
Nikki: All right, if neither of you are gonna do anything, I-I'll go talk to that detective. He'll do something.
Michael: No, no. Nikki, no! No. You will make things more difficult for both of you if you tell anyone you were in the park the night Diane was killed.
Victor: You listen to Michael.
Nikki: This is not gonna work.
Victor: It already has. You have got to keep quiet.
Nikki: (Sighs) You might have somehow convinced the police. You may have even convinced Michael, but there are people who will never believe you.
Victor: (Sighs)
(Door opens)
Nick: You want to tell me what's going on?
Sharon: (Clears throat) This your new pastime? Making sure people go to jail for crimes they didn't commit?
Adam: Like father, like son.
Sharon: So that is what this is about--payback, for Victor trying to frame you for Skye's murder.
Adam: (Clicks lips) Some people might see it that way.
Sharon: Hmm, you mean like, everyone?
Adam: Dad knows the truth.
Sharon: You don't even deserve to call him that. You have been his biggest disappointment in his life. You've never once done anything to make him proud.
Adam: That's not the job of the black sheep.
Sharon: Victor made sure that you didn't put me away for Skye's murder, and I'm gonna make sure you don't put him away for Diane's.
Adam: He certainly made sure to plead the fifth a year ago, which kept you in prison this whole time. You show too much loyalty, Sharon.
Sharon: That's something you'll never understand.
Genevieve: So, uh, you never told me who you were having a glass of wine with when I arrived.
Jack: Her name is Emily.
Genevieve: She has good taste in lipstick and men.
Jack: We're not an item. Not anymore.
Genevieve: Did you love her?
Jack: Once, very much, yeah. We came awfully close to getting married.
Genevieve: What happened?
Jack: Things got, uh, complicated.
Genevieve: Yeah, I know a bit about complicated.
Jack: Yeah, I'm afraid I've been in a few too many relationships that were complicated.
Genevieve: Mm. I've only been in one, and that's enough for me.
Jack: Well, then... what do you say we do something that's uncomplicated?
Genevieve: Okay. (Laughs)
Victor: (Sighs) Sorry I lied to you, Son. I should have come forward in the beginning, and, um... admitted to killing Diane Jenkins.
Nick: Why are you confessing now?
Victor: To be frank with you, this Detective Malloy is getting on my nerves. He has hauled every one of my family into that interrogation room and given all of you a hard time. It's got to stop. I had to come clean.
Nick: After all those years with Diane, all of a sudden, you just snap and-- and kill her?
Victor: Do you know how awful she was? She came after you. She filed a lawsuit against Nikki, used her innocent son to get what she wanted to get. And then to make things worse, she makes a pact with that pathetic excuse of a man, your brother Adam, to help him frame me for a bogus murder. That was it. I'd had it. Sorry.
Nick: You're sorry for killing Diane?
Victor: No, not for that. I'm sorry for having dragged all of you through this terrible ordeal.
Nick: Well, we are behind you, Dad, no matter what.
Victor: Appreciate that, Son. I don't think your sister feels that way, does she?
Nick: I can't speak for Victoria.
Michael: I was hoping Victoria would take over the company, at least temporarily, but she's made it clear that's not gonna happen.
Nick: Which leaves Adam in charge, and we all know how that worked out last time.
Victor: (Sighs)
Nikki: You have "Restless Style" to run.
Nick: I had "Restless Style." I sold it. So I'm available, if you need me.
Victor: I can't think of anyone I'd rather have run the company.
Ronan: Visitation's over. It's time to go back to your cell.
Daniel: You know, maybe I should just forget about it. I mean, nothing I say is gonna change Lily's mind about cane.
Eden: Yeah, well, this isn't FacePlace, you know? You can't just unclick "Like."
Daniel: Why not?
Eden: Oh, come on. The heart doesn't work that way. I learned that in Paris.
Daniel: You want to talk about it?
Eden: Uh, no. (Slaps bar top)
Daniel: Whew! Good. Wait. (Laughs) Wait, how come, um, I get to give you a personal tour of my crappy life, but, uh, yours is closed to the public? Is it--is that what's goin' on here?
Eden: Uh, yeah, pretty much.
Lily: So is Cane's trip the reason you made it back home?
Billy: It's a big part of it.
Lily: Wow. I never thought I'd see this day.
Billy: What can I say? The guy had my back...
Cane: (Sighs)
Billy: And if you ever quote me, I'm going to deny it. The guy's okay. I gotta go. Bye, Guys.
Cane: See ya.
Lily: Bye.
Cane: (Chuckles)
Lily: You're definitely more than okay.
Eden: Okay, new plan to make you forget your troubles.
Daniel: Or to make me stop asking you questions about Paris?
Eden: They are showing my favorite French film at the Strand. One look at Jean Seberg will drive all thoughts of Lily from your mind.
Daniel: Mm-hmm, and who does Jean-Paul Belmondo drive from your mind?
Eden: You've seen it.
Daniel: I may already have my ticket, and I may have seen it every year since they started showing it.
Eden: (Chuckles) Wow, I thought I'd be the only one in the theater. Well, I guess it'll be just the two of us, then.
Daniel: (Chuckles)
Cane: What made you do it?
Lily: What?
Cane: Trust me again.
Lily: I don't know. When I found out that you were Colin's son, I felt like I didn't know you, you know? Like I'd never known you. But then when you went after him and put him in prison, I realized that you were the same man I'd always known, the one that I loved and trusted.
Cane: Well, the, uh, man that you love and trust would like to take you out tonight on a date.
Lily: Tonight?
Cane: Mm-hmm, tonight.
Lily: Um... (Laughs) I would love to, but I don't have a sitter.
Cane: Oh, yes, you do, 'cause I spoke to Cindy and she's gonna stay late, and I already bought the tickets, so you can't say no.
Lily: Tickets?
Cane: Mm-hmm.
Lily: Okay, where are we going?
Cane: Well, c'est une surprise.
Lily: Ah, French.
Cane: Mm-hmm.
Lily: Sounds very romantic.
Cane: So can I take that as a yes?
Lily: Oui, Monsieur.
Genevieve: Mm.
Myrna: (Exhales heavily)
Victoria: Deacon. Can you believe it? (Groans)
Billy: Okay, Honey, maybe he really did just give her a ride home, you know?
Victoria: No. That sleazebag is trying to take advantage of her, and with Dad in jail--
Billy: I'm surprised you didn't go with your mom to see your dad.
Victoria: (Exhales sharply) Nick's with her.
Billy: Well, Victor's in some trouble here.
Victoria: (Sighs)
Billy: If you want to go there and be with him, you just--
Victoria: No, listen. My dad forced me to choose between the two of you, and I chose you.
Billy: He's family.
Victoria: You're my family now.
Billy: (Sighs)
Victoria: I love you.
Nikki: Victor.
Victor: Everything will be all right.
Nick: He's lying.
Paul: Something's not right about this.
Ronan: Maybe Nikki can tell us what that is.
Adam: So Victor's the perfect hero. I'm pure evil, huh?
Sharon: Well, now that we have that cleared up...
Adam: He's going to disappoint you, Sharon. It's only a matter of time.
Sharon: You know, he once said to me the very same thing about you.
Adam: Mm. Well, I guess we aren't that different, then, after all. Oh, wait. Yes, we are. I didn't kill Diane.
(Sets down glass)
Adam: (Sighs)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Sharon: I will do anything for Faith.
Nick: You gotta stay away from Adam.
Eden: You just did not do that. (Laughs)
Adam: You might want to be a little bit nicer to me, especially after we talk about what you've done.
