Murphy: (Sighs)
Chris: Not to take away from any of the other veterans in the parade today, but--
Nina: But we brought home two of the handsomest.
Chance: (Chuckles)
Paul: (Laughs)
Murphy: Well, I wouldn't have looked so dapper if it wasn't for Katherine's seamstress working her magic.
Chris: (Laughs)
Paul: Oh, gosh, Murph. Don't be so modest. You look fabulous. I mean, who cares if you've-- you've gained a pound or 2?
Murphy: Oh, really? Yeah, well, how about 20?
Paul: Since the Korean war?
Nina: (Laughs)
Chance: (Laughs)
Nina: Well, I know Katherine doesn't care.
Murphy: Luckily for me.
Chris: Where is she anyway?
Murphy: Oh, uh, she stayed behind. She wanted to talk to some of the--the Purple Heart recipients.
Chance: Oof. Well, if anyone can give them inspiration, I know Katherine can.
Murphy: Yeah.
Paul: Yeah.
Chance: (Chuckles)
Chris: So were you surprised at the big turnout?
Chance: It was... humbling to see so many people go out of their way just to shake hands.
Murphy: Yeah, and, uh, and the kids taking pictures with you.
Chance: Yeah, yeah.
Nina: (Chuckles)
Chance: Oh, uh, Paul, by the way, how did the, uh, the video come out with me with the military dogs?
Paul: Oh, it--great. I already forwarded it to Chloe. Chance wanted, uh, Delia to see the dogs.
Nina: Yeah, with any luck, they'll be gettin' some good news at the hospital, and Delia will be home soon.
Paul: (Sighs)
Chloe: How excited are you? You have your two favorite grandmothers here to play with you today.
Esther: Yeah, uh...
Jill: Yes, you do.
Esther: Okay, name the game, Delia.
Delia: Tea party!
Esther: Yes!
Jill: Excellent idea, and we need cups for that, right? And hats. We need hats.
Esther: Oh. Oh, okay. Coming right up.
Jill: (Laughs) Oh.
Chloe: Um, you know what? Um, I'll--I'll be back in one minute.
Jill: Okay, I'm gonna come down and pick out a hat for you.
Esther: Good.
Jill: Ooh, look. Don't do--
Esther: I like that.
Jill: Please don't do that to me.
Esther: Why not?
Victoria: Oh, Chloe, hey.
Chloe: Hi. (Sighs)
Victoria: What's the matter? You look upset. What's wrong? Is it Delia?
Chloe: (Sighs) She's in there playing with her grandmothers. It's just that two months ago, she would have been running around, gathering up her tea set, and draping herself in gaudy jewelry and... (Sighs) I just can't stand to see her in that bed anymore.
Victoria: Oh, no. It's only temporary. Really, because today, Dr. Larson is gonna tell us that the transplant is working.
Chloe: It has to work. She has to be okay. It has to work.
Victoria: Shh, it's okay.
Victor: As always, nice doing business with you.
Man: (Chuckles)
Victor: All right? Thanks for coming by.
(Cell phone rings)
Victor: Hello?
Victor: Well, if Billy Abbott isn't where he's supposed to be, then where the hell is he?
Billy: Hey, Buddy. I'm glad you came.
Kevin: Don't speak. You and me--we're done. You got it?
Billy: Aw, is this about Halloween?
Kevin: Dressing up like Santa? Going to see Delia and Victoria?
Billy: How'd you know about Victoria?
Kevin: Because I was there at the hospital when Delia and Victoria started comparing notes.
Billy: Oh, that's not good. Anybody else there?
Kevin: Yeah, a very curious Chloe, who I had to lie to--again, spin that St. Nick was some old hospital volunteer there to trick-or-treat with the kids.
Billy: What did you tell Victoria?
Kevin: Uh, I don't know. I-I convinced her she had had some drunken dream, and that the Santa she saw and the Santa Delia saw couldn't have been the same Santa. (Sighs)
Billy: That's just silly. But I guess I owe you.
Kevin: No, don't owe me. Don't call me. Forget you know me.
Billy: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa. Since you're already here...
Kevin: Yeah, for two reasons. Number one, to tell you we're breaking up, and number two, to tell you that Delia is getting her results today.
Billy: Hey, no, really? We're--we're gonna find out if the transplant took this soon?
Kevin: Yes, and I will text you with the results, and then we're done.
Billy: (Clears throat) Hey, Kevin?
Kevin: (Sighs)
Billy: Do you really want to stop lying to Chloe? I found a way to defang Victor.
Kevin: Okay, I'm kinda, sorta listening.
Billy: We just have to tap into the skill set of the smartest guy you know.
Kevin: S-- you're talking about me.
Billy: Boop.
Chris: So Katherine is a regular visitor at the veterans' hospital?
Murphy: Oh, yeah, and a contributor, too, to the local V.A. hospital and the V.A. home.
Chris: Wow, that is so incredibly thoughtful.
Chance: Oh, hold on a second, all right? Let's not overshadow what you do, as well, with all your volunteering.
Chris: How did you hear about that?
Chance: How else? Mom.
Chris: (Sighs)
Paul: So this, uh, content facade-- very effective.
Nina: Oh, you think so? (Chuckles)
Paul: Well, what's going on underneath?
Nina: (Groans) I'm just regretting how I handled things with Ronan yesterday, and every day, for that matter. How about you?
Paul: Me?
Nina: Yes, well, I know a forced smile when I see one.
Paul: You know, seeing those veteran cops reminded me of my dad.
Nina: Mm.
Paul: And then I thought about Ricky and me, and I don't know. I just wish he would have joined us for dinner last night.
Nina: They're adults.
Paul: Yeah. What are we gonna do?
Nina: Well, what I'm not going to do is let my problems with Ronan overshadow my visit with Chance.
Paul: Has he, uh, gotten his orders yet?
Nina: No, any-- any minute now.
Paul: Are you worried?
Nina: No, I'm not going there. I refuse to let today be about dreading where Chance will be sent next. He's here now. I'm gonna enjoy that and cherish it.
Jill: (Slurps loudly)
Delia: (Laughs)
Esther: (Laughs)
Jill: What? What are you staring at? Do I have spinach in my teeth?
Esther: Oh, that might be an improvement.
Jill: Hey, hey, hey. I think I look marvelous, thanks to my marvelous stylist.
Esther: Uh-huh.
Jill: (Foreign accent) May I have some more tea, please?
Esther: (Foreign accent) Oh, yes, and Pinkerton would like some tea, as well.
Jill: He would?
Esther: Yes, thanks so much.
Jill: What kind of tea is that, Delia?
Chloe: I-I have to prepare myself if Dr. Larson tells me that the leukemia is still here or if it's getting worse. (Sighs)
Victoria: Well, y-you can't really brace yourself for something like that, Chloe.
Chloe: (Sighs) I know. I have to be strong for Delia.
Victoria: Well, you will be, just like you have been. And if it gets to be too much for you or for her, then we, everybody who loves you so much, will be here for you.
Chloe: Except for her own father. (Sighs) You know, I'm--I'm sorry. I just have to stop being mad at him and complaining about him, e-especially in front of you.
Victoria: Oh, don't worry about it. It's fine.
Chloe: No. No, no, it's not. Victoria, you are her stepmom in the truest sense of the word. I mean, when everything got bad, you stepped in and you stepped up, and I appreciate you so much for that.
Victoria: Well, thank you. Thank you for, you know, for letting me be here. So where's Kevin? Is he working?
Chloe: You know, um, uh, he said he had something to do. I thought that he would be back by now.
(Cell phone rings)
Victoria: Excuse me one minute. (Chuckles) My dad.
Chloe: Yeah.
Victoria: Hi, Dad.
Victor: Hi, Sweetheart. Listen, I just had a meeting with Arthur Hicks, and some issues came up that you and I need to discuss. When--when are you available?
Victoria: I'm not actually gonna be available for a while. I'm at the hospital waiting to hear about Delia's test results.
Victor: Oh, I didn't know that was happening today. God, I hope she doesn't need another... bone marrow transplant. My goodness.
Billy: And then Cane decided that the only way we were gonna get anywhere is if he went to Myanmar.
Kevin: Myanmar?
Billy: Yeah, what about it?
Kevin: Well, Jack got a tip that you were there. Yeah, he told Victor about it, but then the lead went nowhere.
Billy: Of course. That's because Victor made sure it went nowhere. But rest assured, I was there in jail.
Kevin: In jail. That's just great.
Billy: And, uh, that thing that happened there, the thing that Victor's holding over my head... (Clears throat) It involves a girl.
Kevin: Well, there's a surprise.
Billy: Yeah, well, the-- a little different. If you want the details, I can--
Kevin: No, I don't want the details. I'm already keeping track of way too many cover stories. Just bottom-line it for me.
Billy: The bottom line is I was set up, and I need to prove it.
Kevin: Isn't that what Cane is doing? What do you need me for?
Billy: I need you to get a photo of the girl to Cane so he can find her.
Kevin: Where's the photo?
Billy: It involves hacking into a computer.
Kevin: Easy enough. Whose?
Billy: Victor's.
Kevin: Breaking into Victor's computer? That is... bananas.
Billy: Are you saying you can't do it?
Kevin: No. (Scoffs) I can do it. But the risk? I mean, if Victor finds out--
Billy: No, no, no, you're not gonna get-- you--no, no, no. He's not gonna find out. Not if you're as good as you say you are.
Kevin: Hmm. No, I'm not gonna do it.
Billy: Oh, come on, Man. This whole mess could be over.
Kevin: We're already over.
Billy: Look, I could come out of hiding. I could see my kid with my own face.
Kevin: Eh, do us all a favor and have plastic surgery.
Billy: You could stop lying to Chloe. I could try to explain to Victoria.
Kevin: Look, even if we worked this out, neither of them would ever talk to us again.
Billy: We'll never know unless we find this girl Chelsea. Everything hinges on you getting that photo to Cane so he can find her, so come on, Man. Help me make this right.
Kevin: Billy, I don't care about you.
Billy: Yeah? But you'll do it.
Kevin: (Scoffs) Oh, you're that sure of me, huh?
Billy: I'm sure of what Delia and Chloe mean to you.
Kevin: I'll see you, Billy.
Billy: Hey. Because we're the same. We're willing to do anything it takes for our family. So you'll do it. You'll do it for them.
Kevin: (Sighs)
Victoria: So how did you talk Esther into taking a break anyway?
Jill: (Chuckles) I told her if she passed out from starvation, I wouldn't catch her before she hit the floor.
Victoria: Oh, yeah, why be nice when threats do?
Jill: That's my motto.
Victoria: Well, listen, would you just kind of, you know, go easy on Chloe? Because she's a little more vulnerable than she looks right now.
Jill: She's also a better mother to my grandbaby than I ever would have imagined. It more than makes up for Billy taking off. Oh, I'm sorry.
Victoria: No.
Jill: (Sighs)
Victoria: Its okay if you mention his name, because I actually can't stop thinking about Billy today anyway, and I'm kind of wondering if maybe I was right. Maybe he's in some kind of trouble, and that's why he hasn't come home. I-I know that you think that maybe he is just ashamed to show his face, but... even at the lowest points in his life, he's somehow tried to contact you or Jack or his sisters. He wouldn't just be silent like this, Jill.
Jill: Hmm.
Victoria: Hi.
Victor: Hi, Sweetheart. Hi, Jill.
Jill: Hi, Victor.
Victoria: Uh, I didn't expect you to come.
Victor: I came to see Cordelia. She's still in that room?
Victoria: Yeah.
Victor: Okay.
Chloe: That sounds like the most fun dress-up party ever, and I missed it.
Victoria: Hi!
Chloe: Hi.
Victoria: I have another visitor for Delia if that's okay.
Chloe: Oh, yeah, come on in. Oh, Delia, do you remember-- do you remember Victoria's daddy? Come on.
Victor: Hello, Sweetheart. I've been very anxious to see you. You know why? Because Victoria has told me what a brave girl you have been, and I wanted to bring you something. Did you know that I have a big ranch? And I have a brand-new pony. Want to see him? There. Isn't he beautiful? You know what I'm gonna call him? Pinkerton, after your best friend.
Delia: (Chuckles)
Victor: What do you think?
Chloe: (Gasps) A real live Pinkerton?
Delia: Really?
Victor: Yeah. You like that? And when you're out of the hospital, you can come visit him any day, all right? Yeah.
Chloe: That is very, very kind of you, Victor.
Victor: Well, Cordelia has been a very, very brave girl. Come here. Oh, yeah.
Paul: So, um, why am I sensing this isn't an ordinary visit?
Chris: I like being here on Veteran's Day. What?
Paul: Oh.
Chris: (Sighs)
Paul: Really?
Chris: All right, you know I was trying to get through to Ronan. Why won't he allow himself to have a decent relationship with his mother?
Paul: Don't worry about it. We'll wear him down.
Chris: Well, it's good that Nina's had you to help her get through this.
Paul: Hey, you know what? The goodness flows this way, too.
Chris: I'm glad to hear that for both of you.
(Doorbell rings)
Chance: I'll get it. Excuse me.
Nina: I wonder who that could be.
Murphy: Well, I know who you'd like it to be. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard it. You're not gonna give Ronan a second thought today. You know, but seein' all those gold-star mothers out there, it must have crossed your mind how short life can be and that you have to do your best to live it.
Nina: Can you tell that to Ronan?
Murphy: Yes.
Nina: Thank you.
Chance: (Sighs) It was a messenger.
Nina: With business papers on a holiday?
Chance: They're my orders for my next assignment. I'm being assigned to the pentagon.
Murphy: Mm.
Paul: Wow, really?
Nina: (Laughs)
Paul: You and Chris are gonna be neighbors. That's cool.
Murphy: What--what will you be doing?
Chance: Um, training for an intelligence position within the defense department.
Chris: Impressive.
Nina: (Gasps)
Chris: When do you report for duty?
Chance: (Sighs) Next week.
Paul: I had no idea you were even in the running for a job at the pentagon.
Chance: I didn't, either.
Chris: Well, you should be very proud of yourself. Only the best of the best get chosen to work there.
Billy: Shouldn't you be typing or hacking or something? Hey, Man, don't look at me in that tone of voice. You're just sitting there, and your computer's spitting out all these numbers and letters and--and stuff and--
Kevin: Stop talking. I have a program that is breaking through the first few firewalls, saving us about 15 or 20 hours, okay?
Billy: Well, that's good. Are you sure it's gonna work? I mean, what if Victor's computer does something you didn't program for? How about that?
(Computer dings)
Billy: What was that?
Kevin: (Laughs) Whoa.
Billy: What happened?
Kevin: Victor's computer does not like us snooping.
Billy: He can see us?
Kevin: I need you to stop breathing down my neck.
Billy: You said you could do this.
Kevin: I can. Or do you want to try it?
Billy: Okay, you're right. I'm sorry. (Stammers) Continue. Con--do your thing. I'm gonna stand over here and just... (Clears throat)
Kevin: Gosh, note this precision.
Billy: What?
Kevin: Wait for it.
(Alarm sounds)
Billy: Oh, no, Man.
Kevin: Oh, yeah.
(Alarm stops)
Billy: Wait, wait, that was-- that was--that was good?
Kevin: I just disabled the ancillary virus programs. A couple more to go, and we are home free.
Jill: That was, um, a very nice gesture.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Jill: But why did you do it? I mean, it's not as if you've ever spent any time with Delia. And yet, you can't seem to get enough of her now. You're here every day. If I didn't know better, I'd say that you were keeping an eye on her, like her very own watchdog.
Victor: So what, pray tell, am I watching for?
Jill: Ahh, well, now that's the question, isn't it?
Victor: Mm-hmm. Cordelia is very important to Victoria. And hence, she's important to me.
Jill: But not important enough to use your resources to bring her daddy home to her. Where Billy's concerned, you won't lift a finger.
Victor: For your information, I've tried to help Cordelia in my own way. I will continue to do so, not withstanding my intense dislike for your son Billy.
Esther: I love this picture that Reed drew for you. I think that's you.
Chloe: Mm-hmm.
Victoria: Did you know that he asks about you every time that he calls?
Chloe: (Chuckles)
Victoria: Mm-hmm.
Chloe: We miss him a lot.
Esther: Yeah.
Jill: (Quietly) Chloe.
Chloe: Yeah?
Jill: Dr. Larson wants to talk to you.
Chloe: (Quietly) Okay.
Jill: Okay.
Chloe: (Normal voice) Um, Baby Girl, I'll be right back. Just one minute, okay?
Victoria: Uh, do you want to step out and get some fresh air?
Esther: Oh, that'd be great. Thank you.
Victoria: Yeah? I brought this book. We can read it.
Esther: Good.
Victoria: We'll have a good time reading it. It's a very good book.
Chloe: Okay, all right. All right. Okay, we're ready...
Jill: Here she is. Here she is.
Chloe: Whatever it is.
Dr. Larson: The transplanted cells have been grafted.
Esther: Wh-which means what, exactly?
Chloe: Well--well, the cells have pretty much set up shop in Delia's bone marrow, so they're making new blood cells and-- and platelets that she needs, right?
Dr. Larson: Basically, yes. There are no signs of infection, graft-versus-host disease or relapse.
Jill: (Gasps) Oh.
Victor: That's wonderful news.
Chloe: (Sighs) Okay, well, what about the leukemia?
Dr. Larson: Undetectable.
Jill: What?
Esther: (Gasps)
Chloe: So she's in remission.
Dr. Larson: She's in remission.
Jill: Yes! Yes!
Esther: Oh!
Chloe: (Laughs)
Esther: So our baby girl is gonna be just fine, right? That's right, isn't it?
Dr. Larson: We'll still need to be cautious with Delia, but I'm very pleased with the results.
Chloe: Oh, my gosh.
Esther: I'm so happy. I'm so happy.
Chloe: Okay, does she get to go home, soon?
Victor: So nice to hear, Doctor.
Dr. Larson: A little while longer.
Jill: Okay.
Chloe: Okay. All right. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Dr. Larson: Of course.
Jill: I'll call the family and tell them.
Chloe: Okay. (Laughs)
Victor: I think you have to tell this to someone, don't you?
Chloe: Yes, yes, yes, I do. Hi.
Victoria: Hi. Well, maybe we should take a little book break.
Chloe: Guess what? Dr. Larson gave us the best news ever. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yay! (Laughs)
Delia: (Giggles)
Murphy: Yes!
(Indistinct conversation)
Murphy: That was Jill. Delia's in remission.
Paul: Oh, I thought so!
(Voices overlapping)
Paul: That's so awesome.
Chris: Finally! Fantastic!
Paul: Yeah.
Murphy: I can't wait to tell Katherine.
Chance: Oh, this is the best news. This really is.
Nina: Oh, isn't it? Now you can leave knowing that she's gonna be okay.
Chance: I know, I-I hated the fact of having to take off and not hearing if she was gonna be doing better or not.
Nina: I know. (Sighs)
Paul: This is just a wonderful day all the way around, isn't it?
Chris: Isn't it great?
Jill: Oh, the family was so excited to hear Delia's news.
Victoria: I know. (Laughs)
(Cell phone rings)
Victor: Oh, excuse me.
Victoria: (Clears throat)
Jill: Oh, I should call Jack and Ashley, too.
Victoria: Uh, Chloe said that she would take care of that.
Jill: Oh, she did? Okay.
Victoria: Yeah.
Victor: Really? Thank you. My sweetheart, I'm sorry. I have to go. There's some business to attend to.
Victoria: Oh, okay. Is there anything that I can help you with?
Victor: No, just... I'll deal with it. Um, you finish up here.
Victoria: Yeah, okay.
Victor: Okay?
Victoria: And we'll discuss that meeting with Arthur later.
Victor: Yes, we will.
Victoria: Okay. Bye, Dad. Mwah.
Victor: Bye. (Sighs)
Jill: It looks like they could use some more alone time in there.
Victoria: Okay, all right. Well, I would like to say good-bye to Delia, but after that, um, I was kind of wondering if you'd like to get some coffee.
Jill: Is something wrong?
Victoria: Not really. I've come to a decision, and, um, I'd rather just not discuss it here.
Chloe: Because the transplant's making you better, you get to go home soon.
Delia: Yay!
Chloe: (Laughs)
Esther: Yay! That's what we say, too. Oh!
Chloe: Exactly.
Victoria: Oh, hate to interrupt.
Chloe: Hi.
Victoria: Uh, I-I'm gonna be heading out now.
Chloe: Okay, thanks so much for coming by today.
Victoria: Yeah, well, congratulations on the fantastic news. (Laughs)
Jill: (Laughs)
Chloe: Thank you, and I'm just so glad that you were here to share it with us.
Jill: Oh, me, too. I'm gonna be heading out, too. And you, little one, you keep on getting better. You hear Grandma? Mwah.
Chloe: (Chuckles)
Jill: I love you.
Esther: And I'm gonna walk out with you, too.
Victoria: Okay.
Esther: Honey, I loved our tea party, and the next one-- mwah-- is gonna be in your very own room, right? I love you. Mwah. Love you. Bye.
Victoria: Bye.
Esther: Get some rest, okay?
Chloe: I will. Mwah. Thanks, Mom, so much for today.
Esther: Oh, I love you.
Chloe: Love you. Bye.
Esther: Bye.
Chloe: Wow, we had a lot of visitors today, didn't we?
Delia: Where's Kevin?
Chloe: You know what? I was just wondering the same thing.
Kevin: I'll say one thing for Victor. He hired some pretty good I.T. guys to protect his files. But unfortunately for him...
(Computer dings)
Kevin: He didn't hire me.
Billy: What, are we in?
Kevin: Feast your eyes. (Sighs) Okay, now let's find this mystery woman Chelsea.
Billy: Ooh, lots of files.
(Cell phone rings)
Kevin: Hey, sorry I missed your call.
Chloe: Well, you should be. I'm here with Delia.
Kevin: Is there news?
Chloe: (Sighs) The best news ever.
Kevin: It worked? That--that is the greatest news ever. Okay, will you give Delia, like, a ginormous kiss for me?
Chloe: Oh, okay, well, why don't you get over here and give her a kiss yourself?
Kevin: I-I will be there as soon as I can. I promise. Bye.
Chloe: I--
Billy: Thank you, God. I mean, she's okay? Really? This worked?
Kevin: I mean, it's been forever since I heard Chloe this happy.
Billy: (Sighs) Man, I didn't, uh, realize how scared I was until I thought that maybe... thank you.
Kevin: (Sighs) Back to work?
Billy: Yeah. Yeah, let's go find this girl, find whatever we need to find so that I can go back and see my daughter.
Kevin: Cheers.
(Bottles clink)
Woman: (Sighs) Hi.
Cane: Hey.
Woman: You're new here.
Cane: Yes, I am.
Woman: What can I get you?
Cane: Um, beer, please. Thanks.
Woman: You got it.
Cane: And, uh, you know, actually, I'm looking for something else.
Woman: Oh? What's that?
Cane: I'm looking for a girl. Her name is Chelsea Lawson.
Woman: I don't know that name, so she must not be a regular. Can you describe her?
Cane: (Sighs) Uh, not that well. She's just a friend of a friend.
Woman: Uh, is she American?
Cane: Yes, she is. She's--she's a surfer, and I heard she, uh, you know, hangs out here.
Woman: (Chuckles) Well, that doesn't really narrow it down. A lot of us yanks come here hoping to surf off the beaten path.
Cane: Which is why I'm here. I'm also a surfer, and I, you know, I was hoping she could, you know, show me around.
Woman: Yeah, we've had mostly ankle slappers here lately. So most people have headed south.
Cane: Oh. Okay. Do you, uh, know what beach?
Woman: You know what? (Sighs) Try... that one. Even if you don't find your friend, at least you'll find some great waves.
Cane: Thank you. So, um, what do I owe you for this?
Woman: Don't worry about it. First one's on the house.
Woman: (Sighs)
Kevin: How many jpeg files can Victor have?
Billy: I don't know, Man, seems like thousands of 'em. Stop. Right there. Right there, right there. Go back. Go back. There she is. That's Chelsea right there.
Kevin: Okay.
Billy: Mm-hmm.
Kevin: All right, it's been zapped to Cane. Now I gotta bounce.
Billy: Are you gonna see Delia?
Kevin: Uh, yeah.
Billy: That's-- that's good, Man. Look... (sighs) I really appreciate this, and thank you. And--and--and thank you for letting me know about the results.
Kevin: Yeah, this was, uh, this was fun.
Billy: (Sighs)
Murphy: Ahh, our own little wounded warrior came through, didn't she?
Kay: (Laughs) Oh, I'll never forget all those hospital visits...
Murphy: Mm.
Kay: When Delia was so weak, she could barely open her eyes, but she always ended each and every visit by telling me that she was gonna get better soon because she knew how much I missed our tea parties.
Murphy: Aw, you know, with me, it was fishing. Uh, she said she had to come home because she wanted to teach me the right way to fish.
Kay: The right way?
Murphy: Yeah, after you hook 'em and you reel 'em in, you have to throw them back.
Kay: (Laughs) Well, of course. Every good fisherman knows that.
Murphy: Oh, such innocence, huh?
Kay: Yeah, poor little girl. She couldn't really even understand what was wrong with her.
Murphy: You know, sometimes, it's a blessing not knowing what you're up against.
Kay: Not like those men and women I saw today. The things they have to face... maybe that's why we're sent these reminders now and then about just how fragile it all is.
Murphy: Yeah, at least Nina doesn't have to worry that Chance is gonna be sent to one of the world's troubled spots.
Kay: That's true. But she's gonna have to say good-bye to him--again.
Murphy: You know, and the good thing is, that she hasn't taken this time for granted. And Chloe, she's in the hospital sending prayers of thanks upstairs because she's got a second chance with her daughter.
Kay: And we certainly know she won't squander it.
Murphy: Like you have?
Kay: My sons are healthy and safe.
Murphy: Yeah, but one of them considers you his enemy.
Kay: When he considers me at all.
Murphy: Listen, I know you were crushed because Tucker didn't invite you to the wedding, but instead of whining about it--
Kay: I never whine.
Murphy: (Sighs) You encouraged Paul to reach out to Ricky.
Kay: There's hope for the two of them. And it's no use crying over Tucker. Things'll never change between us.
Murphy: All right, listen. I-I know you don't whine. But you mope.
Kay: I do not.
Murphy: Yes, you are carrying a planet of regret over Tucker.
Kay: You're accusing me of feeling sorry for myself?
Murphy: No. No, I'm not. I'm reminding you that you have a choice.
Kay: That being?
Murphy: Either wash your hands of Tucker once and for all. Don't look back.
Kay: Well, I can't wait to hear the other option.
Murphy: Well, the other is, stop playing this game, and fight to have a relationship with your boy.
Kay: Why would you want me to do that? You don't even like Tucker.
Murphy: No, but he is your son. And despite all that you've done to each other, you want him in your life, and you both know that.
Nina: Your father's very proud of you.
Chance: When he was asking me all these questions about how this came about, it kind of got me thinking. Did you know anything about this new job?
Chris: Like what?
Chance: Did any of your friends at the pentagon ever tell you anything about it?
Chris: Mnh-mnh, my friends had nothing to do with your new assignment.
Nina: How can you be sure?
Chris: Because I was contacted by someone from the pentagon whom I've never met who knew that we worked together.
Paul: Hmm. Curiouser and curiouser.
Chris: I gave you a glowing recommendation, but I never heard if anything was gonna come of it.
Nina: Well, it looks like somethin' did.
Chris: (Sighs) We all know that my words had nothing to do with Chance getting a shot in D.C.
Nina: Mm.
Chris: Those positions are earned, and your record speaks for itself.
Chance: Well, I just appreciate you talkin' me up. That's all.
Chris: Absolutely. Any time. You excited? (Chuckles)
Chance: I am, actually. I'm always up for a new challenge, so, yeah.
Nina: Can you guys give me a minute to talk alone with Chance?
Paul: Yeah, let's get something to eat, shall we?
Chris: Great idea. Yes.
Nina: I saw how quickly you put away those papers.
Chance: You don't miss anything, do you?
Nina: And you haven't gone into any details about your new assignment.
Chance: Well, if anybody asks, I'm just gonna let them know that I got my cop genes from you.
Nina: There's more to this, isn't there?
Chance: Yeah. (Sighs) Well, I was, um, I was going to tell you about it later, but, uh...
Nina: Now's a good time.
Chance: Okay. After I finish my training in D.C... (Sighs) I'm heading back to the Middle East.
Nina: I thought it might be something like that.
Chance: You sound a bit calm.
Nina: You've been chosen to do important work to serve your country, and I admire that. I respect you. And wherever you go, whatever you do, I am behind you 100%.
Chance: Come here.
Nina: I love you, Baby.
Paul: I'm more hungry than I thought.
Chris: Hey, Murphy, you hungry?
Paul: Yeah, we can fix you and Katherine some plates if you like.
Murphy: Oh, no, no, no. I'll get 'em myself. And, uh, Katherine's not around.
Chris: Did she go out again?
Murphy: Well, it turns out, she had a meeting she had to take.
Chris: Hmm.
Chloe: (Gasps) Hi! Mm!
Kevin: (Sighs)
Chloe: Mm. (Sighs)
Kevin: Hi.
Chloe: Hi.
Kevin: Uh, now that I got that out of my system, I cannot wait to see Delia.
Chloe: Oh, she can't wait to see you. I wish you would have been here when we got the news.
Kevin: Yeah, me, too.
Chloe: What were you doing that was so important that you couldn't be with us?
(Knock on door)
Victor: Did you really think I didn't know that you were still in town?
Billy: I didn't really care.
Victor: I came to tell you personally that Delia is all right.
Billy: Wow. Good news. Thank you.
Victor: Let me just say that now there's no longer a need for another transplant, you can leave town-- now.
Cane: (Sighs)
(Cell phone alert chimes)
Cane: (Sighs) Damn it. Damn it.
Victoria: So I've decided that the only way for me to truly let go of Billy is to find out why he left and why no one has heard from him.
Jill: You know, you could be leaving yourself open for a huge disappointment.
Victoria: I know that, Jill, but I just--I have so many questions. And it's-- it was killing me today watching Delia and watching everything that she's going through and wondering why she doesn't have the dad that she adores with her right now. And I know--I know that Billy has not stopped loving his little girl. But I can't get it out of my mind. I just--I can't.
Jill: I know. I want answers, too. But if Jack and Tucker and Victor have all tried--
Victoria: I know.
Jill: Well, then... (Stammers) If they can't find him, how do you expect to?
Victoria: Well, Billy would avoid Jack, and he would avoid anyone that my father or Tucker would--would send. But he might not avoid me.
Jill: Where would you start?
Victoria: At one point, Jack had a tip that Billy was seen in Myanmar.
Jill: Yeah, but, Victoria...
Victoria: Look, I know. It's the longest, longest, longest of long shots. But I don't know where else to start, so I'm going to Myanmar, and please don't try to stop me, because the only reason I told you at all is because I know that if anyone understood where I was coming from, it would be you.
Jill: I'm not gonna try and stop you.
Victoria: Good.
Jill: 'Cause I'm goin' with you.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Abby: You murdered Diane Jenkins, and now you're setting up the rest of us to look guilty.
Nick: Nick Newman.
Voice recording: I'll kill you.
Avery: Nick, what is it?
Myrna: Soon, darling, I promise. I'll make it happen for us all over again.
