Chloe: Will you go with Grandma?

Esther: I'm gonna race you to the kitchen.

Chloe: Go ahead. Go! Go! Go in the kitchen.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Chloe: (Sighs)

Kay: Well, long day?

Chloe: I thought you were going to that party.

Kay: Well, I've, uh, I've got a few minutes before I get dressed.

Chloe: Mom told you about the hearing?

Kay: Mm-hmm.

Chloe: I was just trying to keep it between Billy and me.

Kay: Chloe, now you grew up without a father, and let's face it, you're still resentful, and you're hurt because of it.

Chloe: Katherine... (Sighs) Can you please not lecture me right now?

Kay: No, j-just a moment. Billy is a-a willing and a full-fledged, involved parent. Now be honest. Are you going to cut him out of her life?

Billy: I probably, uh, shouldn't have come. I lost Delia.

Victoria: Completely? No visitation?

Billy: I have, uh, very brief, supervised visits, but I lost all my custody rights to Delia.

Victoria: Oh, I'm so sorry, Billy. I'm sorry for you and Delia.

Lauren: Oh.

Jack: Wow!

Lauren: (Laughs)

Jack: (Laughs)

Lauren: I was wondering where you were.

Jack: Well, I got waylaid by reporters. You have promoted this launch brilliantly.

Lauren: Oh, well, thank you. And I am a walking, talking demonstration myself, from the body wash to the lip liner.

Jack: Not bad.

Lauren: Love it-- I love everything.

Michael: Mm-hmm. And tasty, too.

Lauren: Ooh. (Chuckles)

Michael: Good luck, Jack.

Jack: Thank you.

Jill: (Sighs)

Jack: Wow, you're cutting it a little close, aren't you?

Jill: I couldn't get here any-- um, I need to check in with Lauren, okay? Sorry. Lauren, oh, I meant to get here so much earlier.

Lauren: No, all of our prep has paid off, and...

Jill: (Sighs) Good.

Lauren: Everything is good-- not to worry.

Jill: Okay, okay.

Michael: Oh, is that woman trying to wave you down?

Lauren: Oh, yeah. Uh, the press is probably getting antsy.

Jill: I can take care of that.

Lauren: Oh, no, no, no, um, Michael can come with me.

Jill: Okay.

Lauren: (Quietly) Find out what's going on with Jill.

Jack: Yeah. Yeah.

Jack: Hey, everything all right?

Jill: (Sighs) Billy just lost custody of Delia.

Jack: What? When?

Jill: Just now. There was this hearing. I didn't even know about it until it was almost over. Did you know about it?

Jack: No. Oh, Chloe's got rotten timing.

Jill: Well, yeah, that's what I thought. But now I understand why she's been pushing it.

Jack: Was he completely out of control?

Jill: Jack, he was arrested last night for soliciting a prostitute.

Jack: (Sighs) Where is he now?

Jill: I have no idea where he is. You know, I tried to talk to him at the hearing, but he made it really clear he didn't want anybody's help.

Jack: Okay, well, we're not gonna give up. Oh, damn, this was supposed to be a big night for the family.

Jill: Well, it's all right. It's all right. There'll be enough Abbotts here.

Jack: Yeah, well, I heard from Traci. Her publisher has moved up her deadline, so she's not flying in. Abby has decided to embrace a low profile.

Jill: What, the Naked Heiress? That could play in our favor.

Jack: It better. Everything has to go perfectly tonight.

Man: Hey, Abby.

Abby: (Gasps) George!

George: Hey!

Abby: Hey! Mwah! Mwah!

George: Mwah! Mwah!

Abby: Shiva!

Shiva: Hi! Mwah! Mwah!

Abby: Are you here for the Jabot launch?

Shiva: The minute George told me about it, I booked my flight.

Abby: (Chuckles)

George: Yeah, I got a sneak preview from Lauren at "Restless Style." It's amazing.

Shiva: And he hasn't stopped talking about it since. I can't wait to see it for myself.

George: So come on. Let's go.

Abby: Oh, I-I'm not going. I'm not going. I have a dinner thing.

George: You're gonna miss a party to eat?

Abby: Well, I-it's my mom's thing and Uncle Jack's. And I don't want to steal their spotlight, so, you know... (Chuckles)

George: Hey, that's what spotlights are for. Come on.

Shiva: George, you have to tell her.

Abby: What?

George: Yeah? Um, last week, Abbs, you were in the "Where are they now?" Column.

Abby: (Gasps)

George: Yeah.

Abby: No.

Shiva: Time to resurrect.

Abby: (Scoffs)

George: You--you can be boring when you're dead.

Abby: (Chuckles) (Scoffs)

Ashley: Mm.

Tucker: Mm.

Ashley: You have lipstick on now.

Tucker: Mm, I don't mind. Wow. That is one good-lookin' party dress.

Ashley: Oh, thanks. I'd rather be spending the evening with my good-looking husband, though.

Tucker: Why don't you lay your bad news on me now? I can see something's going on.

Ashley: What are you talking about? What bad news?

Tucker: How did Abby take it when you told her we were married?

Ashley: I haven't told her yet. No, we've been playing phone tag. But I'm gonna tell her tomorrow, for sure.

Tucker: Why not tonight at the event?

Ashley: I got a message from her and she can't make it. Tomorrow-- tomorrow, definitely.

Tucker: Well, why not, uh, at the apartment? We'll tell her together.

Ashley: What do you mean, the apartment?

Tucker: They're lettin' me out of this hellhole tonight.

Ashley: (Gasps)

Tucker: (Laughs)

Ashley: (Squeals) Really?

Tucker: Oh, yeah.

Ashley: Ohh.

Kay: Well, did you even attempt to compromise with Billy?

Chloe: I almost dropped the custody suit. I went to go talk to him.

Kay: Well, what did he say?

Chloe: (Sighs) He was drunk, Katherine.

Kay: Oh. (Sighs)

Chloe: Yeah, well, that just seems to be a constant state with him lately. And he's been gambling. And he was arrested. (Sighs)

Kay: On what charge?

Chloe: He tried to pick up a hooker last night, the night before the judge was going to rule for custody.

Kay: Billy, Billy. What--what--what can you be thinking?

Chloe: Well, he's obviously not thinking about Delia. He doesn't care about her.

Kay: Yes, he does care about her. She is very, very important to him.

Chloe: Oh, really? Well, then why is he being so selfish?

Kay: I wish I had an answer to that.

Chloe: You know, so-- so he's not with Victoria and his life sucks right now. But he has a child, a child who used to be a priority, and she's obviously not anymore.

Billy: You know, I knew going in I could lose custody. But until the judge said the words, I actually thought I had a chance.

Victoria: Even after what happened last night?

Billy: You know?

Victoria: Your arrest? Yeah.

Billy: (Sighs) Oh, God. The way you're lookin' at me right now...

Victoria: A prostitute?

Billy: I swear on my father's soul, I didn't do it.

Victoria: I don't want to hear it. I really don't.

Billy: You--no, you need to hear it. You--you have to hear it, because I don't care what anybody else thinks. I didn't do it, and I need you to know that. I need you to believe me.

(Camera shutters clicking)

Jill: (Chuckles) Great. Great. Great. You have everything you need now?

Woman: One more with just the sisters, please.

Michael: Oh, sure. Here. Mm-hmm.

Jill: Okay.

Lauren: Uh-huh.

(Camera shutter clicks)

Jack: Please tell me I'm not going to regret that you changed your mind and decided to come.

Abby: I will not be dropping this dress.

Jack: Good.

Abby: (Laughs)

(Camera shutter clicks)

Jack: Thanks. You're not gonna be dropping your dress even if you decide you suddenly want to save the whales or the seals or the trees?

Abby: (Laughs) You know, I will not be touching any bubbly this evening, so there will be no spontaneous urges. It's not gonna happen.

Jack: Good deal.

Abby: (Chuckles)

Jack: Have you talked to your mom since you got back?

Abby: Uh, no, why?

Jack: Well, her life's changed quite a bit since they dropped the charges.

Abby: How so?

Jack: Talk to your mother.

Abby: I will plan some quality time, okay? Tonight, we're partying. Party, party. (Laughs)

Jack: Okay, turn around. Here we go. We're-- we're taking pictures.

(Camera shutter clicking)

Abby: Thanks. (Chuckles)

Ashley: So was this the doctor's idea or yours?

Tucker: His. But, uh, I'm not completely free yet.

Ashley: More tests?

Tucker: Yeah, I got follow-up appointments, rehab, you know, puzzles. But I'll take that over having to live here. I'll tell you that.

Ashley: Yeah, so will I. You're comin' home.

Tucker: You gettin' sentimental on me?

Ashley: I am. I mean, after the accident, we didn't know if you were gonna live or not. Now here we are. We're married. We get to have our lifetime together.

Tucker: You could make this night even better, you know.

Ashley: (Chuckles) What'd you have in mind? Yeah?

Tucker: Come here.

Ashley: What? Really?

Tucker: A little bit of this.

Ashley: Okay.

Tucker: And-- well, a lot of that.

Ashley: Mm, okay.

Tucker: And... a little something else.

Ashley: Like what?

Tucker: Tell me you'll run McCall while I'm recuperating and let me announce it at the Jabot launch party.

Jill: So when Jack Abbott came to me with this remarkable product, we both agreed that it was just a perfect match-- Jabot and Fenmore's.

Lauren: You think Jill's okay?

Michael: Yeah, she's a pro.

Abby: (Clears throat)

Michael: Hey.

Lauren: Ohh!

Abby: Hi. Look who's here!

Shiva: Nice to see you.

(Voices overlapping)

Abby: (Laughs)

Shiva: So nice to see you. Hi.

Lauren: Mwah. Oh, you've made it. Thank you so much.

Shiva: Oh, well, you can't set the trends unless you get the good stuff first.

Lauren: Mm, that's right. And everything they're saying about these products is true, right, George?

George: Oh, absolutely. Cactus pectin is gonna be Hollywood's new best friend. They're gonna be naming their kids after it. It's the best.

All: (Laugh)

Shiva: (Laughs) Okay, I have to try this now.

Lauren: Okay, I was hoping you would say that. Come on.

Michael: Cactus pectin?

Jack: It was actually quite a challenge bringing this new line to market. I came into this job as C.E.O. under difficult circumstances.

Woman: Tucker McCall's accident?

Jack: Exactly. Exactly. I stepped in to protect my sister's amazing work and to keep leadership of Jabot in the family. And, frankly, I'm very proud of what we've accomplished since I've been back.

Tucker: I want Jack out of Jabot and you back in charge.

Ashley: You know, if I hadn't caused the accident, then we wouldn't have needed anybody to take over Jabot.

Tucker: Really?

Ashley: Yeah, really. We were very lucky that Jack was available.

Tucker: Well, the crisis is over now, isn't it? (Sighs)

Ashley: Honey, come on. Jack's done a great job with the new product line and the launch and everything, and he will continue to do a good job if we just give him a chance.

Tucker: Jabot is only one part of McCall, Unlimited. You know that.

Ashley: So this rush is more about getting Katherine out of McCall.

Tucker: I need to clean up the mess she's made. Listen, we both know I'm not ready to take on my old responsibilities yet. So if you're handling the business, I can focus on gettin' back to 100%. Now I need your answer.

Ashley: I haven't accepted because I want to focus on you and your complete recovery.

Tucker: We have to be realistic. That could take a while.

Ashley: Oh, not necessarily, knowing you and your drive. You're gon-- you're gonna be back as C.E.O. in no time, and I want to make sure I can do everything in my power to help you get there.

Kay: Well, I have just been so busy, you know, running, uh, McCall, Chancellor's, worrying about Tucker...

Chloe: (Chuckles) You can't constantly take care of every single person that you care about in your life.

Kay: Really?

Chloe: Besides, I think that Billy's just been hiding out.

Kay: Well, I certainly never expected him to fall apart like this. He's always been so... well, uh, stable.

Chloe: He got it together when he married Victoria.

Kay: Did you tell him that?

Chloe: Please. It was hard enough just watching that another woman made him a better man.

Kay: You listen to me. You are the one who made him a better man when you had Delia.

Chloe: I thought so. I really thought that he was finally getting it together, finally acting like a grown-up, but apparently, he's just reverting back to his old ways.

Kay: You're worried about him, hmm?

Chloe: It's not my job to take care of Billy. It's my job to take care of Delia.

Kay: By effectively removing him from her life?

Chloe: Well, the way that he's been acting, I have no regrets about what I've done.

Billy: Look, I bought that woman a drink and gave her cab money, and that's all.

Victoria: All right.

Billy: The cops-- they misread the situation. I tried to explain it to them, but they weren't gonna listen to me, because they thought they had their man, so...

Victoria: I believe you, Billy.

Billy: It seems like forever since someone's said that. Thank you.

Victoria: It doesn't matter.

Billy: Of course it matters.

Victoria: Do you know where I was last night while you were being arrested? I was at your place waiting all night long. I fell asleep there, and you didn't come home.

Billy: You came to my place to be with me? But you said you didn't--

Victoria: Yeah, I know. I know I told you that I wanted you to leave me alone. I know.

Billy: Do you have any idea what that did to me? It shook me straight to the core, and do you think-- the--the last place I wanted to be was at that trailer missing you alone.

Victoria: So you went to a bar?

Billy: Yeah, I went to a bar. I was depressed. But... (Sighs)

Victoria: Well, you know what? Things are tough all over, Billy. They're tough all over. I lost my daughter, too.

Billy: Yeah, because of me.

Victoria: No, I'm not blaming you.

Billy: Then what's this about?

Victoria: It's fear. I'm scared. You're hanging out in bars. You're getting yourself thrown in jail. I can't watch you do this to yourself.

Jack: Have you sampled the products?

Shiva: Oh, enough to believe the hype. This is one gift bag I'm not regifting.

Jack: Well, I will have our P.R. department get in touch with you, and, of course, if it can get on "Local Rose," we'd love that.

Shiva: Of course. (Laughs)

George: Subtle, isn't he? (Laughs)

Abby: Christina, oh, my God, I haven't seen you in forever. Are you covering this for "The Insider?"

Christina: Of course. Like we'd miss this event?

Abby: Oh, I know. As soon as my mom told me it was happening, I knew I had to be here.

Christina: Well, I'm glad you could be here. Now I heard about...

Abby: Rehab. It's okay. I'm not hiding it.

Christina: No, I was told it was for exhaustion, though.

Abby: Yeah, yeah, I was fried beyond the beyond-- everything that's been going down-- so I just needed to get out of town and try to find some peace.

Christina: Oh, did you find any?

Abby: I--you know, I did, as soon as I got home. What I was looking for was right here with the people I love and that love me.

Christina: Good, well, I was hoping to get a statement from your mom.

Abby: Oh, absolutely. She'll be here any minute.

Ashley: I'm gonna get you checked out of here, and we're gonna get you settled in at home.

Tucker: Uh-huh, well, even if I can't announce that you're taking over the reins at McCall yet, I still want to go to that launch.

Ashley: Oh, would you please stop it? Reconsider. You need to take it easy.

Tucker: I need people to see that I'm strong, that I'm myself.

Ashley: Now look, you've made a remarkable recovery, but you had a very serious brain injury.

Tucker: Really? I don't remember.

Ashley: That's not funny. You still have a problem processing things.

Tucker: It's just a little hiccup. I can't quite grasp, uh, complex ideas.

Ashley: Mm-hmm. People are gonna ask you questions if you go.

Tucker: I'll tell you what, if anyone asks me anything about how you make the cosmetics, I'll hand them off to you. Now I want you to stop worrying. I'll be fine.

Ashley: As of now, it's just the two of us and the doctors that know about your problem.

Tucker: And no one else is ever gonna know.

Ashley: I'm just gonna say this last thing, okay? If you make an appearance, I'm afraid that it's not gonna go as smoothly as you'd like it to. Seriously.

Esther: So Delia was asking about seeing her daddy. This is supposed to be their night together.

Chloe: Mm-hmm. Will you come sit with Mommy for a second? Yeah. (Sighs) Um... so... we're not gonna be seeing daddy tonight.

Delia: Why?

Chloe: Why? Well, um, he's just not feeling very well, no. Daddy's a little sick.

Delia: Oh.

Chloe: Yeah. But you know what?

Delia: Huh?

Chloe: I'm here, and Grandma's here, so we're gonna have a super-duper fun night, right? I have an idea. You know what we should do? (Gasps) How about we have a slumber party?

Esther: Oh, that is a great idea. Isn't it, Delia?

Delia: Yeah.

Chloe: Yeah, right? Won't it be fun?

Delia: Yeah.

Chloe: We'll have a-- we'll have a super-duper marathon slumber party. And we'll do each other's hair...

Delia: (Giggles)

Chloe: And we can have pillow fights, and, oh, we'll watch princess movies. You want to do that? Yeah? Okay, we'll do that.

Billy: You deserve a lot more, Victoria.

Victoria: So do you.

Billy: (Chuckles) Do I, really? Still? I don't know.

Victoria: You know, we worked so hard to make this home together. Now it's empty. How did that happen so fast?

Billy: You don't see it coming. One minute, I'm having pillow fights and watching girlie movies with Delia. Then that's gone. And Lucy's gone.

Victoria: (Sighs) We thought we were so special. Remember what we used to say? We were gonna be the one Newman/Abbott couple that made it.

Billy: We still can make it. Don't give up on me.

Victoria: I really don't want to. But I really need you to show me that there's still something to hold on to.

Billy: I will. I will show you.

Victoria: Can you? Can you do that, Billy? Because ever since you moved out of here, I haven't seen anything like that.

Abby: This was amazing. Call me. (Chuckles)

Shiva: Glad you partied now?

Abby: So glad.

Shiva: (Laughs)

George: Hey, we're gonna go to Giacometti's. Why don't you come with us?

Abby: Oh, you know, I would. I don't want to cut out early on my fam.

Shiva: Okay, Los Angeles next month, the opening at MOCA.

Abby: I will be there.

George: Okay, good. Love you. Love you. Mwah. Mwah.

Abby: Love you more. Mwah. Mwah. Mwah. Mwah.

Shiva: Mwah. Mwah.

George: All right, bye.

Abby: (Giggles) See ya.

Jack: Your, uh, friends are leaving without you?

Abby: Yeah, well, you know, I'm where I want to be. Is Mom going to show up? (Laughs)

Jack: Well, she better show up pretty soon, or she's going to miss all the kudos that she deserves.

Jill: Thank you. Thank you. Where have you been?

Kay: Chatting with Chloe.

Jill: Oh, about the hearing.

Kay: You may disagree, but I understand why, uh, she took Billy to court.

Jill: (Sighs) No, I do agree.

Kay: Really? Well, what happened to your motherly loyalty?

Jill: It got knocked out by my grandmotherly loyalty.

Kay: Hmm. How is, uh, Billy doing?

Jill: I have no idea, Katherine. It breaks my heart. I just don't know how much more loss my son can take.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Victoria: How could you do this to us, Billy?

(Knock on door)

Chloe: Billy, you can't be here.

Billy: Can I, uh, come in for just a minute?

Chloe: (Sighs)

Billy: Thank you. (Clears throat)

Chloe: (Sighs) Billy, you gotta go.

Billy: I was supposed to see Delia tonight.

Chloe: Well, that changed after the judge's ruling.

Billy: Yeah, I guess it did, didn't it? Look, I... (Sighs) I know I didn't discuss this with you, but, um, maybe you'll let me make this one of my supervised visits.

Chloe: (Sighs) No, Billy.

Billy: Delia is too young to understand about judge's rulings and all that crap. I just--let me explain it to her, please? Let me tell her why I'm not gonna be around as much. I gotta do that. Will you please just give me that little bit?

Chloe: Billy, I can't.

Jack: Quite a shindig, isn't it?

Kay: Mm. Do you know? I was really impressed when you first brought this product to me, but seeing how quickly and effectively you launched it-- my God. I mean... (Stammers) I'm so impressed.

Jack: Well, that means a lot coming from you.

Kay: (Chuckles)

Lauren: I don't mean to interrupt here, but we're almost ready.

Jack: I'm right behind you.

Lauren: Okay.

Kay: Hmm. Yes, Sir, I nearly blew it.

Jack: When you almost didn't rehire me, you mean?

Kay: Mm-hmm. I wanted to honor Tucker and his plans for his company, but in this case, uh, he should be overjoyed that I didn't.

Lauren: How do you think its going?

Michael: Hmm? Mm. People are having fun. They're enjoying the product. They're having their photos enjoying the product. I just wish I didn't have to go.

Lauren: I know. Me, too. But you can make it up to me later at home.

Michael: Hmm. You can count on it.

Lauren: Good.

Michael: Here's a trailer.

Lauren: Mm.

Michael: Oh. Is that Pat Wooten?

Lauren: Uh, yeah. Yeah.

Michael: Ooh, I should probably say hello.

Lauren: Okay, you go. 'Cause, you know, I need to talk to Jill about something.

(Camera shutter clicks)

Jill: Thank you. Hi.

Lauren: Hi. You're good.

Jill: Hmm?

Lauren: You're smiling for the camera. You're talking to people, but I know something's bothering you.

Jill: No, not at all. Listen, you have those announcements soon, you know, and a thousand details to take care of.

Lauren: Jill, we're new at this, but we're sisters, and you can talk to me about anything.

Jill: (Sighs) Its Billy.

Lauren: Are he and Victoria having problems?

Jill: No, it's just-- when Delia was a baby, he really wasn't the world's best father, you know?

Lauren: But he grew into it so beautifully.

Jill: Oh, he did.

Lauren: I know.

Jill: He did. He has become the most wonderful father. He was a great father to those two little girls, much better a parent than I was when he was young.

Lauren: So what's going on?

Jill: He's throwing it all away, Lauren, and nobody can stop him.

Billy: You really can't be serious here.

Chloe: Does it look like I'm joking?

Billy: You're gonna keep me from having one short talk with our daughter?

Chloe: I can't.

Billy: Yes, you can. Just like you don't have to act like a little bitch right now.

Chloe: You don't have to talk to me like that.

Billy: I don't have to talk to you that way? After you let your lawyer eviscerate me in court? I don't have to talk to you that way?

Chloe: That's what lawyers do, Billy.

Billy: No, not my lawyer, because I told him to back off of you.

Chloe: Okay, fine. I-I mean, I felt bad about that.

Billy: Yeah, yeah, that's very convincing. I'm sure you did.

Chloe: Yeah, until I found out that you were just sampling the local delicacies last night.

Billy: I didn't sample. I didn't even look. What do you know about it? Just--just don't judge me.

Chloe: No, I-- I didn't even have to do that. The judge did that.

Billy: Yeah.

Chloe: Right? And then he gave me full custody, and he was right to do that.

Billy: No, I don't think so. I'm going to appeal.

Chloe: Great. Good. Appeal away. Go ahead. Until you act like a saint, you're not gonna win. And you probably won't after that. So until the judge orders me otherwise, you are staying away from Delia.

Billy: (Sighs) Really, just look. I just want... one short conversation. Listen to me. One short conversation, a hug and good-bye. Let me explain to her, please?

Chloe: No.

Billy: (Scoffs) All right.

Chloe: Mm, hey. Listen, you are not going near her.

Billy: You need to move.

Chloe: No.

Billy: Get out of my way.

Victoria: Hi, uh, Nikki Newman please. Oh, uh, right. Yeah, right. I didn't realize it was so late. Um, I'm sorry. Would you just tell her that her daughter called? And that, um, tell her, uh, tell her that I love her. Thank you.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Victoria: (Sobs)

Chloe: Come on. What are you gonna do? Do you want to push me out of the way?

Billy: (Chuckles) Like I'd ever lay a hand on you. Just please let me see my daughter.

Chloe: Why? Because once again, you're thinking about what you want, and not what is best for Delia.

Billy: I'm thinking about what's best for her. I want to let her know what's going on. I don't want her to think that I have abandoned her, that she's not important to me.

Chloe: Really? Do you really want her to see you like this? She's gonna be so confused. You're a big, strong daddy to her.

Abby: (Cheering)

Jack: Well, you start with thanks, right? I would like to thank Lauren Fenmore Baldwin and Jill Abbott Fenmore for all they have done on behalf of Fenmore's.

Michael: You almost missed it.

Sofia: Hey, oh, I couldn't help it, but I am so glad I made it in time for this part.

Jack: Let me also thank my sister whose amazing creation...
