Episode # 9677 ~ Billy's Drinking Angers Chloe

Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma

(Doorbell rings)

Victoria: I'm coming. (Sighs heavily) Chloe, uh, now is really not a good time.

Chloe: I heard about Lucy. I'm really sorry.

Victoria: Thank you.

Chloe: Did Rafe say anything about an appeal? You think you have a chance at getting her back?

Victoria: No, she's gone. We lost her.

Chloe: To Phyllis. I know. I heard... which is just wrong on so many levels. I don't know what the judge was thinking.

Victoria: What do you want?

Chloe: This whole custody thing really made me think about the situation with Billy and--and Delia, and I... I just want to talk to him about it.

Victoria: Billy's not here.

Chloe: Okay, well, then I'll just wait.

Victoria: Billy moved out.

Chloe: (Sighs) Man, he's such a moron. I don't believe he leaves you at a time like this.

Victoria: You know what? I really don't feel like talking about it right now.

Chloe: Do you know where he is?

Victoria: (Sighs)

Kevin: So I do the quarterly taxes for the bar. I'm just here to pick up the books.

Man: Mac said you were comin' by. I'll get 'em.

Kevin: Thanks. (Sighs)

(Glass shatters)

Billy: Oh, I'm up. I'm--wow. (Mutters)

Kevin: Billy? What are you doin' here, you drunk fool?

Piper: Morning, Sheri.

Sharon: Oh, morning, Piper.

Piper: Can I help?

Sharon: Sure. Why don't you grab a rake and help me lay down this fresh hay?

Piper: Okay. Wow. This place is cleaner than I've ever seen it.

Sam: Sheri did a good job, didn't she? She even cleaned the tack and all of the saddles.

Sharon: Well, I'm just trying to earn my keep, you know? I wouldn't want Sam to throw me out for being a freeloader.

Piper: He wouldn't do that. He wants you to stay forever. Right, Doc?

Michael: I believe you two gentlemen already know each other.

Victor: We do, indeed. Hello, Gus.

Gus: Good to see you, Mr. Newman.

Victor: Nice to see you again. My goodness. You came to work for me right out of law school.

Gus: Y-yeah.

Victor: Yeah, and then you went on to bigger and better things.

Gus: (Laughs) Well, that's half right.

Michael: That explains why Mr. Newman asked for you when he sent me to the S.E.C.

Victor: Gentlemen, shall we sit down? So do you think we have enough to charge my son Adam with stock manipulation?

Gus: Well, as Michael has undoubtedly informed you, we have started an investigation. Once I interview you, I would like to meet your son Adam and your ex-wife.

Victor: Well, it is my opinion that my son and my ex-wife were the ones who colluded in this rather damaging affair. They released some information that was obviously erroneous.

Michael: Driving down the price of Newman stock.

Gus: Yeah, but can you substantiate this?

Victor: I can substantiate the fact that Diane Jenkins lured me into an ambulance.

Gus: Well, that's not enough to indict your son. He wasn't the only buyer who took advantage when the stock dropped.

Victor: You're talking about Jack Abbott?

Gus: Well, your feud with Mr. Abbott is well known. A case could be made that he has reason to take action against you.

Victor: Well, we will present our case against Jack Abbott in due time. Meanwhile, I want you to concentrate on my son Adam. He is the one, I'm almost certain, who engineered this hoax.

Adam: Couldn't have done it without you.

Diane: I hear Newman stock is up even more this morning.

Adam: That it is. There's a little bonus in there for you.

Diane: All right, what's going on here? You're being way too nice to me. Even yesterday, saying that I'd, uh, I played the whole thing well, when really you should have been furious with me for tipping off Jack.

Adam: Are you kidding me? You did me a huge favor.

Diane: A favor?

Adam: Yeah, thanks to you, I, uh, I'm in the clear with the S.E.C., but you and Jack? Eh, not so much.

Billy: You know... (Sighs) I think I could use a drink. Hey! Nurse?

Kevin: It's a little early, no?

Billy: Oh, come on. Um, I would really like a whiskey, "Neat," and I think my little rodent friend here would like one, too.

Kevin: No, thanks.

Billy: Oh, come on, Kevin. Loosen up, Bub. Have a drink. It's not gonna kill you, is it? (Chuckles) (Sighs)

Kevin: I heard about Lucy.

Billy: Yeah, well, so you're team Phyllis, huh?

Kevin: No, I'm not.

Billy: Kevin, you don't want me raisin' your niece.

Kevin: I just testified that I did. Besides, I sure as hell don't want Daisy raising her.

Billy: Yeah, that's a good point. Phyllis certainly made a deal with the devil. You know... I don't see breakfast. Hey, Buddy, you're a bartender, right? Where's that drink?

Kevin: (Sighs)

Billy: Thank you.

Kevin: Make it two.

Billy: Ahh, there you go.

Victoria: I don't know where Billy went. I mean, he just packed his bags and he--he left.

Chloe: Ah, he'll be back.

Victoria: Maybe not. (Sighs)

Chloe: He knows that he screwed up royally. He knows that. And I'm sure that he's just feelin' like the biggest heel of the world. (Sighs) You know, I-- can I help you with anything? Um...

Victoria: Chloe, what did you want to talk to Billy about anyway?

Chloe: When I heard about Lucy, all I could think about is what it was gonna do to Delia. And, um, well, then Kevin made me realize that fighting for sole custody is really gonna affect her. (Sighs) You know, I've been saying that I'm just protecting her, but the truth is that I've been really, really angry at Billy. And that's just not a good enough reason to keep him away from her, because he is a really good father.

Victoria: He is.

Chloe: I just want to talk to Billy about dropping the lawsuit.

Victoria: Well, you're doing the right thing.

Chloe: So, you know, um, you know, you-- you can tell him if you see him.

Victoria: Honestly, I think that you will probably see him before--before I do.

Chloe: You guys really love each other. You're gonna work this out.

Reed: Mommy? Daddy told me Mac had a baby last night.

Victoria: What? Oh, wow. That's--that's so exciting. How about that?

Man: Hey, Doc, do you have a 12-inch auger I can borrow for that digger?

Sam: Yeah, that should do. What's on it now?

Man: 9.

Sam: Yeah, let me look.

Piper: Daddy! Daddy! Come meet Sheri. Come on.

Man: Uh, hi, Sheri. Lee--Piper's father.

Sharon: Nice to meet you.

Lee: Same here. Piper talks about you all the time. I hope, uh, I hope she doesn't bother you too much.

Piper: (Giggles)

Sharon: No, no, not at all. She's a pleasure to have around, hard worker. Honestly, I-I'd be lost without her.

Lee: So how long, uh, how long you been workin' for Doc?

Sharon: A couple months already.

Lee: Oh, you from around here?

Sharon: No. No, I'm just passing through. I've been moving around a lot. I take whatever odd jobs I can find.

Lee: It's a tough time to be out of work.

Sharon: Yes. It is.

Michael: Adam did not purchase one share of Newman stock until after the announcement of Victor's death.

Gus: Yeah, but that proves nothing. Jack Abbott bought it about the same time himself.

Victor: He waited for the price to hit rock bottom. Just before it rebounded, he made his buy.

Gus: And some people would call that good business.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Gus: Do you have the final figures?

Michael: Not yet.

Gus: (Sighs) Your ex-wife, Diane Newman-- did she invest in this?

Victor: Diane Jenkins is penniless, okay? Doesn't have a dime. After the annulment of our marriage, she, um, moved in with Adam. They must have made some kind of a deal.

Michael: And Adam does nothing without an ulterior motive.

Gus: I don't know. It could be just a personal vendetta. When your ex-wife tricked you into that ambulance...

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Gus: She did it for her own reasons. Was she trying to drive down the price of your stock, or was it just unfortunate timing? We don't know.

Michael: You don't see how her actions are connected with Adam's?

Gus: That's speculation.

Victor: Gus, I can assure you that my son Adam leaves nothing to chance-- nothing.

Diane: You're the one who bought up all the stock when it hit bottom, not me.

Adam: Me? I only happened upon a-an opportunity. You and Jack, however, you two deliberately manipulated the I.P.O. in order to stick it to my father, and there were witnesses.

Diane: What witnesses?

Adam: Paramedics, Diane. They saw how you lured my father into the ambulance with your fake pregnancy act.

Diane: You set me up.

Adam: If you would have just trusted me the way I trusted you and keep your mouth shut instead of selling information to Jack, you could have talked your way out of this. Instead, it looks like you and Jack conspired. You sabotage my father, Jack makes a bundle of money. The onus is off me, to which you have my undying gratitude.

Diane: (Sighs) Do--do you really think the feds will come after me?

Adam: With Daddy dearest leading the charge.

Diane: I'll make a deal with the feds. I'll tell them it was all your idea.

Adam: Your word against mine, and I'm... semi-positive that I can be pretty convincing that you were the one that set me up.

Diane: I set you up?

Adam: You came after me to protect your interests with Kyle's father.

Diane: You paid me off.

Adam: Cash, untraceable.

Diane: We're living together.

Adam: (Clicks lips) Not enough to indict, really, but I can't say the same will be true for you.

Diane: Everything I've heard about you is true.

Adam: That's funny, coming from you. You were the one who double-crossed me. I wonder how long it'll be until the feds show up.

Adam: (Sighs)

Billy: So why'd you decide to stay, huh? You want to gloat?

Kevin: Billy, you and I... we're never gonna be pals, Buddies. Acquaintances is a stretch.

Billy: (Chuckles) You are slow, Man. Are you just now figuring that out?

Kevin: (Clears throat) Mostly, it's 'cause I think you're a self-centered jerk.

Billy: Eh, right back at ya.

Kevin: Thank you.

(Bottles clink)

Kevin: However, when it comes to Lucy, it's clear that you and Victoria really love that little girl.

Billy: Yeah, we do. You know, you never really know what it means to be a parent until you have kids of your own. I was a very good father to her.

Kevin: What Phyllis did was wrong. She shouldn't have been taken away from you. I told that to Chloe. Now I'm telling you. I'm sorry.

Victoria: Wow, Mac had her baby. That's--that's really exciting.

Chloe: Hey, uh, hey, Reed.

Reed: Yeah?

Chloe: Um, you know, Delia was asking about you this morning. Would you like to come over and play?

Victoria: Reed has, um, actually been asking to see Delia. We might try to stop by later if we can.

Chloe: Okay, yeah. No--no pressure. Um, uh, I'm gonna get going. And again, I'm-- I'm really--I'm really sorry.

Victoria: I have an idea. How would you like to make a card for Daddy and Mac?

Reed: And Dylan. I'm a big brother twice.

Victoria: Yes, you are. Dylan's a nice name. Come on, let's do it. We're gonna get crayons and paper...

Reed: Crayons and paper and color.

Victoria: And color a beautiful card.

Reed: All right.

Victoria: Go to the couch.

Reed: Couch, couch, couch, couch.

Victoria: Okay. Here we go.

Reed: All right.

Victoria: All right.

Reed: Let's see. All right. All right.

Victoria: Okay.

Reed: When's Lucy coming home?

Victoria: Sweetheart, do you remember I told you last night that--that Lucy wasn't gonna be living with us anymore? She went to live with her first family. But in our hearts, she's always gonna be a part of our family, and we're always gonna love her, no matter what. She just won't be living with us anymore.

Reed: And Billy, too?

Lee: You like working with animals?

Sharon: I do.

Lee: They're straightforward, aren't they? They always tell the truth.

Piper: Daddy's a U.S. Marshal. He arrests criminals.

Sharon: That sounds exciting.

Lee: Well, it's not like in the movies, you know. I spend most of my time in front of a computer or driving from town to town.

Piper: But not for a while, right? You're gonna be home more.

Sharon: Oh?

Piper: He's getting a common... oh, commendation because of how good he is at his job.

Sharon: Well, you must be very proud.

Sam: So I got the 12-inch. You still want that box blade?

Lee: Can you spare it?

Sam: Sure.

Lee: I'll give you a hand.

Sharon: (Sighs) Well, your dad seems nice.

Piper: We're going on a picnic later with my mom. She's making fried chicken and potato salad. Do you want to come with us?

Sharon: Um, that sounds really nice, but--

Piper: You'd really like her.

Sharon: Oh, I'm sure I would. But you know what? Today is your special day with your parents.

Piper: They won't mind. Please, Sheri? Pretty please?

Sharon: (Sighs)

Victor: What's next?

Michael: Well, the S.E.C will not move against Adam until they have solid proof that he used Diane to manipulate the I.P.O.

Victor: Mm-hmm. Now you and I know that Diane Jenkins isn't clever enough to have orchestrated this.

Michael: Well, there's a weak link somewhere.

Victor: And we have got to find it, because this time, I want to make sure that Adam Wilson goes down. What about the other matter?

Michael: I'm on my way to see her now.

Victor: I appreciate it. Thank you, Michael.

(Door opens)

Victor: Did you forget something? I'd like one of those desserts and some coffee.

Victoria: We need to make the sky now. We don't have blue. Would you go up to your room and grab another box of crayons? We've gotta make the sky.

Victoria: "Dear J.T. and Mac, congratulations on the birth of your son Dylan. Nothing brings more happiness... and joy than a child."

Billy: Isn't there, like, a-a-a game or something on?

Man: Cubbies and White Sox are on later. Don't you have work or someplace else to be?

Billy: Right here is just fine, thank you. Too bad you can't drink for a living. Oh, you do. You're a bartender. Fill it up.

Chloe: Billy, what the hell are you doing?

Billy: Awesome.

Sharon: Um, you know, I really appreciate that invitation, but, um, I'm just not up for being around new people.

Piper: So just me and Sam?

Sharon: For now. Do you mind?

Piper: I guess not. Is Sam your boyfriend?

Sharon: What? No. Definitely not. Where'd you get that idea?

Piper: Well, he likes you. And you like him, right?

Sharon: I like him as a friend, like you and I are friends. Look, Sam's a really great guy. But right now, there's no room for a man in my life.

Sam: (Sighs)

Diane: Kyle, I was hoping to find you. Where's Toby?

Kyle: Oh, with his mom. They're picking me up in a little while. I gotta get my homework done. Is that mine?

Diane: Sweetheart, I don't want you to get upset, but we have to go. We're leaving Genoa City.

Kyle: What? Why? I like it here.

Diane: I know you do.

Kyle: Well, I can't just leave Dad. He was so happy this morning, and he's gonna take me to the movies later.

Diane: I'm sorry, Kyle.

Kyle: I don't want to go.

Diane: Kyle, I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. We're leaving now.

Victor: So you and Diane, huh? You put her up to this?

Adam: You think I had something to do with reports of your death? It was the paparazzi. They're always chasin' you around.

Victor: You have a pathological hatred of me, don't you? After all the opportunities I have thrown at your feet.

Adam: I was an Ivy League graduate with a successful career on Wall Street before you ever had any involvement in my life. Then you... sucked me into this tragedy you call the Newman family business. Everything you've given me I pray comes back to you.

Victor: The feds don't look kindly on fraud, you know.

Adam: I got nothing to hide. So how was that little meet and greet with the S.E.C. you had this morning?

Victor: You're going to prison.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Michael: Hey.

Victoria: Hi.

Michael: I just thought I'd-- I'd stop by, check up on you. How are you feeling?

Victoria: I'm feeling like my soul's been ripped out of my body. (Groans)

Michael: Mm.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Michael: I'm sorry. It shouldn't have happened.

Victoria: Well, you know, there's absolutely no stopping Phyllis.

Michael: No. No, there's no stopping her. She wouldn't listen to me.

Victoria: All she cared about was getting her own way. I mean, I cannot believe that Judge Welchert thought that this was in the best interest of Lucy.

Michael: Listen, she went by the book. The biological mother had not voluntarily surrendered her parental rights. Daisy must have been very convincing.

Victoria: Oh, yeah. You should have heard her declaring her love for Lucy and how she sacrificed everything for her child.

Michael: Daisy is also a consummate liar.

Victoria: What if Daisy gets out of jail?

Michael: She won't.

Victoria: But if she does, Michael, if she does, will the judge give her Lucy?

Michael: There's one thing about Phyllis-- she will do anything in her power to protect that child-- anything.

Victoria: Well, I hope so.

Michael: Look, your father wants you to know you have his complete support. He asked me to explore...

Victoria: (Sighs)

Michael: All legal avenues. So with your permission, I would like to call Rafe and start the appeals process.

Victoria: Listen, I really appreciate your offer, but I'm afraid if... if we fight this, the judge might put Lucy in foster care. And that would be so much worse.

Michael: Agreed.

Victoria: Okay. So just tell my dad thank you, and I won't be filing an appeal.

Michael: It's your call. Hey. Does this mean that, um...?

Victoria: Yes, Mac had her baby.

Michael: Mac had her baby. I could tell that was her. (Chuckles)

Billy: All right, there-- there--there are no ex-wives in here. There's a--there's a sign, actually, and I believe its outside. You should go look at that. Go look at that sign.

Chloe: Billy?

Billy: Just leave me alone right now, Chloe. I don't want to see you. I'm--I'm working on stuff right now, you know what I mean? I'm trying to get a little clarity, and I could use--hey, Man. I thought we agreed we-- we were gonna keep 'em comin', like, one after the other. Like, you know, that's how it works. There he goes. Watch this. He's really good at this. Nice. Thank you...

Chloe: (Sighs)

Billy: Sir.

Chloe: Okay, um, you've gotta pull yourself together. And if it's not gonna be for yourself, it should be for your family. All right, come on. That's your last drink. Let's go. You gotta go home.

Billy: Really? Really?

Chloe: Come on. Yeah. Let's go.

Billy: Really? Hey. Who the hell are you to tell me what to do, huh?

Chloe: I am the mother of your child, so when you act out, it affects your daughter. You know what? I was gonna drop the whole petition for full custody, and now I see you like this, and I just can't. I can't do it. I gotta go ahead with it.

Billy: Is that it? You need to justify taking my daughter away from me like this?

Chloe: No, I have to protect my daughter, Billy.

Billy: Just--just-- you need to-- just get out. Go that way. (Sighs)

Chloe: You know what? I'm gonna go. And why don't you sit here and self-destruct like you always do? And when you come up for air, maybe you will realize that other people are suffering here.

Billy: Yeah, well, Victoria doesn't want to see me anyway.

Chloe: (Sighs) Victori--I-I was actually talking about Delia. She's too young to understand that she just lost a sister. And did you ever think about Reed? What he might be going through right now? I mean, he loses a sister and gains a new sibling, all in one day?

Billy: What do you mean, he gained a sibling? Uh, what?

Chloe: Oh, you don't even know. Well, um... (Chuckles) J.T. and Mac had their baby last night. The world doesn't stop for Billy Abbott. Life still goes on. But you know what? Why don't you have another drink? You know what? Have ten.

Sam: Piper, say good-bye to Sheri. Your dad's ready to go.

Piper: Bye, Sheri.

Sharon: Bye. Thank you for your help.

Piper: (Sighs) See ya, Doc.

Sam: Take it easy, Little Squirt. So Lee-- he said to tell you good-bye.

Sharon: He's a marshal?

Sam: Federal marshal, yeah. He doesn't talk about it a lot. It makes some people uneasy.

Sharon: Mm. Well, I'm gonna go and see if the blankets are dry. Ow! Ow!

Sam: You all right, Sheri?

Sharon: Ow. Ow. (Winces)

Sam: You okay?

Victoria: Mac's baby was born yesterday, right about the time we lost Lucy.

Michael: (Sighs)

Victoria: I'm not begrudging them. I'm not. I'm--I'm happy for them.

Michael: I know. I know. Look, if you change your mind about the appeals, just let me know.

Victoria: Thank you. But I won't.

(Doorbell rings)

Victoria: Kevin.

Kevin: I hope you don't mind my stopping by. I just--hey, Michael.

Michael: Hey. I was just leaving.

Victoria: If you don't mind, I'm sorry to be rude, but I'm--I'm all talked out, really.

Michael: No, I'll walk you to the car. I'll fill you in.

Kevin: We'll talk later?

Victoria: Yeah.

Billy: Seriously, Mac, I-I couldn't be happier for you and J.T. there's nothin' better than havin' a baby, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're--we're-- we're all fine here, you know? Look, um, please send my congratulations to J.T. Yes, I-I will--I will... (Sighs) I'll tell her. All right, uh, congratulations. Um, good-bye.

Adam: You can't toss me in the clink if I didn't do anything illegal.

Victor: So it's just a coincidence that the two biggest buyers were you and Jack?

Adam: I can't speak for Jack, or Diane, for that matter. Well, you know what? Wait a second. Hold on now. Do you think that maybe Diane partnered up with Jack? Oh, Dad, you should have come to me for advice. I would have told you not to be so greedy. All you had to do was make a settlement with her. She wouldn't have come after you.

Victor: You put Diane up to this, didn't you?

Adam: It wasn't me.

Victor: Son, I have heard enough of your B.S., so why don't you get out, okay?

Adam: Hey, whoa. Whoa. Hold on now. That is no way to talk to the newest member of the board of directors.

Victor: You will never sit on my board of directors.

Adam: I don't know if you've seen the latest figures from the I.P.O. that is how many shares I own of Newman. As a major stockholder, I have the right to demand a seat at the table. You know what? (Hits desk) I got an idea. I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll set up shop. I'll elect myself as cochairman. We can work together hand in hand, father and son, side by side. What do you think?

Kevin: Wait, he's how big? (Chuckles) He's a monster. All right, send some pictures.

Michael: Congratulations, Mac!

Kevin: Michael. She says thanks. And just so you know, Uncle Kevin does not do diapers. (Laughs) Okay, I will. Is that Dylan crying? All right, go ahead. I love you. Bye. Hi.

Chloe: Hi. Well, I just saw Billy boozing it up over at Jimmy's.

Kevin: What were you doing there?

Chloe: Well, after you had that whole talk with me and you convinced me to give him a break, I was gonna drop the custody suit. Kevin, he's too destructive.

Kevin: Babe, imagine what he's going through right now. He's hurting.

Chloe: (Scoffs) What about Victoria? He should be there with her. She needs him.

Kevin: Since when do you care about Victoria?

Chloe: Billy only thinks about himself, and if he can't be there for his family, I can't share custody with Delia. He deserves to be alone.

Victoria: (Sniffles) (Cries) (Sobs)

Sam: Wow, this cut is deep.

Sharon: (Sighs)

Sam: We have to get this looked at.

Sharon: You can take care of it.

Sam: (Sighs) I can look at this and tell you you're gonna need some stitches. Let me--let me finish cleaning this up. I'll give you a ride to the hospital.

Sharon: No, no. No hospitals. (Sighs)

Sam: Sheri, you--

Sharon: No, you're a vet. Look you take care of little cuts like this all the time.

Sam: This is not a little cut, Sheri. This is a deep laceration.

Sharon: (Sighs) I don't want to go to the hospital. I don't want to see a doctor, okay? Now you fix it for me, please! (Sighs)

Sam: Sheri, if you want my help, you're gonna have to tell me what's going on.

Sharon: There is nothing going on.

Sam: You seemed pretty nervous when you found out that Lee was a lawman.

Sharon: You said yourself, it makes people nervous.

Sam: I'm not an idiot, Sheri, all right? You don't like the police. You won't go to the doctor. The only people you spend time with is Piper and myself. I respect your privacy. I do. But I think you owe it to me to tell me what I'm gettin' involved with. Now what kind of trouble are you in?

Kyle: But, Mom, what about my hockey gear?

Diane: I'll buy you new equipment, okay? Now come on. Let's go. We can't waste any more time.

Gus: Diane Jenkins?

Diane: Yes.

Gus: I've been looking for you.

Diane: Get yourself a cookie.

Kyle: But, Mom, I thought we were leaving.

Diane: Do as I say. What is this all about?

Gus: My name is Gus Heyman, and I work for the Securities and Exchange Commission, and I'm here to tell you that you're under federal investigation for stock manipulation, and if you try and leave this jurisdiction, you will be arrested.

Victor: You propose an interesting idea. In fact, very interesting.

Adam: Not what I expected to hear.

Victor: You know what I think of you sitting on the board in that chair?

Adam: No, Dad, I don't know. You tell me.

(Glass shatters)

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Sofia: I was with someone.

Malcolm: What did you just say?

Sam: I'm running from mistakes that I can never fix.

Lily: And I don't want to know anything about you.

Jill: Back off, Bitch.
