Episode # 9661 ~ Nina Fears for Chance's Future
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Nina: I displayed a blue star flag every day that Chance was in Iraq.
Chance: Ahh, where'd you get that?
Nina: Oh, I brought it with me from L.A.
Chance: I'm glad. It's lucky.
Nina: Excuse me. Sorry.
Phillip: Uh, I'll talk to her.
Chance: No, no, no. I should be the one, okay?
Phillip: Okay.
Chance: Thank you.
Jill: Maybe we shouldn't have planned a picnic for today.
Kay: It's Memorial Day. Chance wanted to have a cookout. Now, damn it, let's at least look like we're having fun.
Chloe: Good girl. Oh, hi. I thought everyone was outside.
Nina: Oh, yeah, hi.
Chloe: Nina?
Nina: I'm just-- I'm goin' for a walk. Be right back.
Nina: (Sighs heavily)
Chance: Hey. Did you see my mom?
Chloe: Yeah, she went that away. Hey, Soldier. Attention.
Chance: What?
Chloe: A-are your eyes broken? Someone spent hours putting together the perfect outfit.
Chance: (Chuckles) Hey. Come here, you. Look at you. You look beautiful.
Delia: Thank you.
Chloe: It's all for you. (Chuckles)
Chance: You're welcome. Did she seem upset?
Chloe: It's never easy saying good-bye to your kid.
Heather: Hi.
Paul: Mm, hi.
Heather: Mm, I'm so sorry I had to miss breakfast today.
Paul: Oh, that's okay. Busy morning, huh?
Heather: (Sighs) Extremely.
Paul: Here you go.
Heather: Thanks.
Paul: We'll get you fed and relaxed, catch a breath.
Heather: Oh, I can't. I'm leaving town.
Sam: Sheri, truck's packed. We are gonna have to haul some serious butt to get to that festival in time for Piper to get her lamb.
Sharon: Sam, I tried, but I can't go.
Nick: I thought the point of doing this on Memorial Day is that it would be quiet around here.
Adam: So did you know this fair was gonna be going on around here?
Man: The stretch of road we'll be examining won't get that much holiday traffic.
Nick: So where do we start?
Man: With you tellin' me everything you know about Sharon's actions leading up to the alleged accident.
Adam: Oh, no, first of all, it wasn't alleged, okay? She didn't commit suicide...
Nick: Adam, you--
Adam: And if you're not gonna get those facts straight, then we're just gonna hire another forensics team, okay?
Nick: Adam.
Man: I'll get the files.
Nick: (Sighs) You gotta let this guy do his job.
Adam: I'm just making sure he does it right, okay?
Diane: Arguing already?
Nick: What are you doing here? All right, you two are newly shacking up. I don't care, but don't treat this like it's a vacation.
Adam: That's not what we're doing, Nicholas. Uh, Diane, why are you here?
Diane: Well, you--you told me what you wanted to accomplish, and I'd like to help.
Adam: Why?
Diane: Because I know what Sharon meant to you, to both of you.
Nick: If you want to help, go home.
Adam: You're not gonna just order her around, Nicholas, okay?
Nick: Look, this is Diane's M.O. She goes from wealthy guy to wealthy guy getting what she wants, pretending like she cares, is that shoulder to lean on, just so she keeps you around. You want to go after Adam's wallet? Do it. But don't use my wife's memory to make that happen.
Adam: Technicality-- she's your ex-wife, my fiancée.
Nick: Well, she wasn't anything to Diane.
Adam: Diane is with me, and you have nothing to say about it.
Diane: I'm not here to use anybody.
Adam: Can we just focus on why we're here? And that's for Sharon.
Sharon: You know, when I told Piper I could go to the festival, I thought I could. But when I was getting ready, I just got so anxious.
Sam: Why is that?
Sharon: Because it's a small town.
Sam: And?
Sharon: Well, when people see me, they're gonna ask questions.
Sam: You can do this, Sheri. You're not gonna be alone.
Sharon: No, I-I want to, but it's just...
Sam: You've changed, you know that? Over the last few weeks, you--you stopped hiding here, and I think you actually started living here.
Sharon: Well, you know, when I'm with you, or when Piper comes over, yeah, but...
Sam: It's just a few miles down the road.
Sharon: Will you explain to Piper?
Sam: Only if you let yourself down and you don't show up. It'd be a shame to miss that prize-winnin' pie.
Heather: So Michael can't leave town right now. Um, so he wants me to go in his place to help coordinate things for Newman Enterprises' I.P.O.
Paul: It's not a permanent move then, is it?
Heather: No, definitely not.
Paul: Good. Well, that's okay. I can share you with your mom for a-a little while. Have you called April yet?
Heather: Yeah, she sounds excited.
Paul: I'll bet she is. When do you leave?
Heather: This afternoon.
Paul: Wow.
Heather: (Chuckles) Yeah.
Paul: That's fast. Does Michael need you there that soon, or is this your choice?
Heather: Well, he wants me to get a jump on things.
Paul: And...
Heather: And... (Sighs) I mean, I could use a change of scenery.
Paul: So this is at least partly about what happened with Chance?
Heather: Maybe. (Sighs)
Paul: Well, you can't help it if you're not in love with the guy.
Heather: Yeah, but when the guy volunteers for combat duty immediately, it kind of puts a different spin on things.
Paul: You could call him.
Heather: He doesn't want to talk to me, and I-I don't want to put pressure on him. I mean, certainly not on his last day at home.
Paul: Well--
Heather: But y-you should go over there. Nina's gonna need you.
Paul: I'm not the best person for Nina to talk to right now.
Heather: Because she blames you for what I did.
Paul: Look... (Stammers) You know, I-I-I told you before. You didn't do anything wrong.
Heather: Well, then why can't Nina stand to be in the same room with me right now?
Paul: Because she's scared to death about her son. And as proud as she is of Chance, I'm sure there's a very big part of her that is angry at him, too.
Heather: But she has to support him, which means I become the target.
Paul: It's unfair, but true.
Chloe: So Chance just has to go away for a little while. That's all.
Chance: But I don't want you to forget about me, so that's why I got you a little something.
Chloe: (Gasps)
Chance: You want it? Yeah? Okay.
Chloe: Yeah. Presents? Presents?
Chance: (Gasps) Here it comes. Here it comes. Storybooks!
Chloe: Whoa!
Chance: (Chuckles) I got you a bunch of new storybooks, and it is now your job to make sure Mommy reads this to you 100 million bazillion trillion times.
Chloe: Of course we will. We love to read. Thank you. Say thank you?
Delia: Thank you.
Chance: You are very, very welcome. All right, and I'm gonna think about you every day while I'm gone, okay?
Delia: Okay. Okay.
Chance: Okay.
Esther: Okay, Delia, Honey, let's go read the books.
Chloe: Okay, wait. You know what? Can we just get a picture with you and Chance really quickly? Get by Chance, okay?
Chance: Oh, come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come right here.
Chloe: Let's do it. All right, ready? Okay, say, "Cheese."
Delia: Cheese!
Chance: Cheese! (Laughs)
Chloe: Yay, so pretty!
Esther: Aw.
Chloe: Okay, good, now you get to put the picture next to your bed. Okay, bring these to Grandma.
Esther: Yeah. Okay, come with Grandma. Ooh, lots of books to carry.
Chance: I know.
Chloe: Good job! (Chuckles)
Esther: Let's go. I've got 'em. Come with Grandma.
Chance: Can you e-mail me a copy of that picture?
Chloe: Sure.
Chance: Okay.
Chloe: Thanks for spending time with her.
Chance: Yeah. Yeah, Delia and I, we're pals.
Chance: What is it?
Chloe: Nothing. Nothing. Go back--go back to the party.
Chance: No, no, hold on. Not until you tell me what's bothering you.
Chloe: (Sighs) I was waiting for you to tell her that you would be back, and you just... you never said it.
Chance: (Sighs) I'm coming back, Chloe.
Chloe: You didn't say that to Delia.
Chance: A lot of things can happen over there, and I-I don't want to make a promise that I can't keep.
Chloe: You know, sometimes I wish you weren't so compelled to save the world. (Laughs)
Chance: (Laughs) You sound like you've been talking to my mom.
Chloe: How much of this is about Heather?
Chance: You have been talking to my mom.
Chloe: Hey, hey, don't dodge the question.
Chance: What? What? It's a--it's a stupid question, all right? And I'm sick of being asked the same thing, all right? This is not about Heather.
Chloe: Oh, well, you're the detective, okay? So what do you think? You fall in love, she breaks your heart, dumps you. You reenlist-- cause/effect.
Chance: Yeah, well, if I wanted to leave town really fast, I would have done it when I had to admit to my fiancée that I had cheated on you with Heather.
Chloe: I'm over it... mostly.
Chance: Look, Heather is not more important to me than you were, Chloe.
Chloe: Okay, well, evidence to the contrary... and my hot dogs are calling.
Chance: Whoa, whoa. Hold on a second. You know what? You've got it in your mind that Heather and I had this important relationship, and that now I'm just running off to get away from it. What--what--what'd you think we were? Did you think that we were just a fling?
Chloe: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what we were.
Chance: (Sighs) We were incredible, all right? We were undeniable. We were unstoppable. We were off the charts.
Chloe: That's a really nice way to remember it.
Chance: And I also remember that you, my first love, dumped me, but I didn't go and find the nearest bridge and jump off it.
Chloe: Okay, so you signing up for this tour...
Chance: Was my decision. And giving Heather the credit or the blame, well, that's just... that's insulting.
Chloe: (Sighs) Okay.
Chance: Why can't people understand that this is important to me?
Chloe: We do understand. We understand, but you have to understand how hard it is to think about you over there.
Chance: You gonna cry?
Chloe: Maybe later. Not now. (Chuckles)
Chance: (Chuckles)
Chloe: Because I am more glad than sad right now.
Chance: That I'm leaving and taking all of my drama with me, right?
Chloe: Because we are finally friends.
Chance: (Sighs) I never saw that comin'. (Sighs)
Chloe: I'm glad we had this talk.
Chance: (Sighs)
Man: Here's the police report and photos of the accident site. We have a team retrieving the wrecked car and another one at the crash site.
Adam: The cops didn't rule it a suicide at first. The said the cause of death was undetermined.
Man: When did the official ruling change?
Nick: After the D.A. read letters that Sharon wrote to my kids. I want that word "Suicide" erased from Sharon's name. She may have been scared and running from something, but she never would have taken her own life.
Sam: Right over here. Well, now that Fanny’s comfortable in her pen, we can chow down. I gotta tell you, that sash looked spectacular. She's gonna be the best-dressed lamb in the competition.
Piper: I wish Sheri was here.
Sam: Yeah, I know. But, you know, it's, uh, it's like I said. She's havin' a real-- real rough day. We're not gonna let it get to us. Fanny's gonna do great in the competition, and we're gonna tell Sheri about it when we get home, right?
Piper: (Sighs)
Sharon: Or right now.
Piper: Sheri!
Sharon: (Chuckles)
Piper: How come you changed your mind?
Sharon: Well, because I wanted to see you and Fanny and the decorations. And I think someone said something about apple pie.
Jill: Tell me you're not working today.
Colin: Well, I was expecting a call, but I guess not. What you need?
Jill: A way to make all of this easier on Nina. Do you think you can manage that?
Colin: (Sighs) I wish I could. I mean, having to watch a loved one walk off into a dangerous situation, that's-- I... (Sighs) Well, like you s-- no, it's not easy.
Jill: Mm.
Colin: Which makes you that much more...
Jill: (Chuckles)
Colin: Of a remarkable woman.
Jill: Mm, go ahead. Count the ways.
Colin: You've been very encouraging to Chance, and I know you are scared out of your skin.
Jill: Let's just keep that our secret, okay?
Murphy: You look like you're a long ways away.
Kay: Mm. I was thinking about, uh, Tony Womack. I had a very serious, serious crush on him.
Murphy: Oh? How old were you?
Kay: I, uh, was just a little girl.
Murphy: Mm-hmm.
Kay: He was a very popular senior in high school. He would wave to me when I'd ride by on my bike. And I just thought he was so "Swell."
Murphy: (Laughs)
Kay: (Laughs) Then the war came along.
Murphy: What, Tony enlisted?
Kay: One day, his mother put this banner with a blue star in-- in the front window. And I-I would ride by on my bike, and I'd, uh, wave to Tony's star. And then, uh, I don't know, one day, uh, it was a gold star in the window.
Murphy: (Sighs) He was... killed in action?
Kay: Uh, well, just as other military was lost, a lot of the military. I honored them, and I respected them. I didn't know them, but... that blue star brings back all the realities of war to me.
Murphy: Yeah. You know, uh... (Clears throat) A son, a daughter, they, uh, they leave their home, their friends, their family, fight for our country. They save a lot of people, and--and they kind of changed history for the better. You know, when I was... when I was younger, th-they were my heroes. They--they still are.
Kay: Is that why you, uh, joined the marines?
Murphy: Oh, yeah, yeah, as soon as I was old enough, and--and then my mom, well, she hung a blue star banner up for me when I, uh, shipped off to Korea.
Kay: Well, thank God that star stayed blue. (Chuckles)
Murphy: (Laughs) I'll say. You know, I'm gonna... I'm gonna pray every day that that's gonna be true for--for Chance.
Kay: It has to be. It just has to be.
Chance: (Sighs heavily) Has Mom called you?
Phillip: No. Sometimes she's gotta walk things off. But she's gonna be back.
Chance: Uh, yeah. With as mad as she's been, she's gonna have to walk to Wyoming to walk this one off.
Paul: She's not mad at you.
Chance: No, I know she's not mad at me. She's mad at--at--at Heather and Paul. But, Dad, that's a waste of time. She's head-over-heels in love with the guy, all right? And to see her cut herself off from him because of all of this... (Sighs)
Phillip: You can be wiser about this. You're the one that's getting on a plane. You're goin' off...
Chance: No, I know.
Phillip: Doin' your work...
Chance: I know. I-I know. I know. Waiting and worrying-- that's a lot a harder. I get it. I just... (Sighs) I just wish there was something I could do to make it easier on you guys.
Phillip: You could have had the challenging career of working in the library.
Chance: (Scoffs)
Phillip: Or doing some online trading at home.
Chance: (Laughs)
Phillip: Yeah.
Chance: Yeah. Yeah, that wasn't gonna happen.
Phillip: Well...
(Footsteps approach)
Nina: Hi.
Chance: Hey.
Chance: Nice walk?
Nina: Necessary.
Chance: Was it something I said?
Nina: That flying the flag had been lucky for us.
Chance: Uh... I'm not following.
Nina: Well, that's how I'd been thinking about it, you know? That--that you've been lucky to have survived three tours overseas.
Chance: So what about it?
Nina: Well, it leaves you out of the equation-- your skill and your experience and your knowledge. It's--I haven't been giving you enough credit.
Chance: I should have told you I'd been thinking about this again.
Nina: (Inhales deeply)
Chance: Obviously, it blindsided you. You know, I, um, I knew that if I brought it up, you would just try and talk me out of it.
Nina: Could I have?
Chance: No.
Nina: I'm proud of you. I'm proud that you are your own man. I'm proud of your courage and your sense of duty and your commitment to doing what's right.
Chance: (Sighs) Come here. Well, what aren't you proud of? (Chuckles)
Nina: (Voice breaking) That I'm not you. And when-- when it comes to my kids, I'm just a wuss.
Chance: (Chuckles)
Nina: (Sighs)
Chance: You're allowed to be, Mom.
Nina: (Normal voice) Listen, from now on, I am not counting on luck. I am believing that you have everything you need to take care of yourself and the-- the beautiful men and women serving beside you, and that you'll come home whole and safe.
Chance: I am lucky. I am damn lucky to have been raised by a mother like you. (Sighs)
Nina: (Sighs)
Diane: Nick?
Man: I'm heading over to the accident site shortly to check in with the team. You want to come with me?
Nick: Yeah.
Man: Adam?
Adam: Being over there once was enough, more than enough.
Piper: Bye.
Sam: Good seeing you. Take care of her.
Sharon: Sam, I think every single person in town has said hello to you.
Piper: Well, everybody loves Sam.
Sam: Well, I think everybody just loves the vet, you know? Since the majority of people rely on animals for their income, so...
Piper: No, it's... just the way he does things, like with my friend Josiah.
Sharon: Oh, the one whose father breeds horses?
Piper: One of his stallions was sick, and Doc Sam gave him this medicine and stuff for free 'cause Josiah's dad doesn't have much money. Isn't that cool?
Sharon: That's the coolest, and I'm not surprised.
Colin: Well, Katherine, can I fix you a plate?
Kay: No, thank you.
Murphy: Hello, Baby.
Chloe: Hey, it's a tough crowd. Give it some time.
Colin: You mean, uh, they might actually... like me?
Chloe: "Like" is pushing it.
Colin: (Chuckles)
Jill: You know, it's really hard for me to be around you right now. I'd prefer not to see the woman who is ripping my son's daughter away from him.
Chloe: Okay, okay. I am totally justified in filing for full custody of my daughter, and you should be happy about it, because that just means you get to spend more time with her.
Jill: Wow. Normally, you'd be wearing this by now, but I'm not gonna let you ruin my day.
Phillip: I knew you'd come through for Chance before it was too late.
Nina: (Scoffs) Just under the wire, huh?
Phillip: (Chuckles) Yeah.
Jill: You do have a way of bringing people together.
Chance: (Chuckles) Including people that you don't seem to like at the moment. Chloe?
Jill: She is the reason that Billy's not here today. I swear, if she takes Delia away from him, I will scratch her eyes out and feed 'em to the wolves.
Chance: And some grandmothers just knit.
Jill: (Chuckles)
Chance: (Chuckles) Um, I need you to do a favor for me, something a little less... bloodthirsty.
Jill: Anything, anywhere, anytime.
Chance: Okay. Keep an eye on Mom for me. She's not "Iron Woman."
Jill: Don't you worry. I will be steely enough for both of us.
(Cell phone rings)
Chance: Uh, excuse me one second.
Phillip: Mom?
Jill: Oh, Sweetheart. How are you holding up?
Phillip: (Groans) Better than Nina's gonna be in about ten seconds.
Nina: I thought I made it clear to you before, you're not welcome here.
Kay: Paul, what is going on here?
Nina: Heather didn't realize that this is a family event, and they were just leaving.
Chance: Hold on. Don't go. I invited Heather. Come inside? Please.
Kay: Calm down.
Paul: Well, I'm glad that Chance called. She's been really going through it.
Nina: She has?
Paul: Look, if they can talk this thing out, it's better for everyone, don't you think?
Nina: Yeah, well, Chance can be very forgiving.
Paul: Maybe you could follow his lead.
Nina: She was very careless with him, Paul, and no matter what Chance says, I know I'm losing him because of her.
Chance: I should have called you before now. You know, we could have gone someplace else instead of you having to deal with...
Heather: Oh, she's angry. She has a right to be.
Chance: She doesn't. So, uh, you said something on the phone about going to New York?
Heather: For business. (Sighs)
Chance: Oh, well, it looks like we're both heading someplace new on exactly the same day. Strange how things work out.
Heather: Chance... I hope you know--
Chance: It's a good thing, Heather, what happened. This is what I'm supposed to be doing.
Heather: Is it?
Chance: It's who I am, all right? This is who I've always been-- a soldier. Now I may not have realized it if...
Heather: So... we're okay?
Chance: Enjoy New York.
Heather: I will. And you, uh, dodge those bullets.
Chance: Come here.
Heather: (Sighs)
Sharon: Mmm! That apple pie is to die for.
Piper: Mm-hmm. Aren't you glad you came?
Sharon: I would not have known what I was missing, and I'm really glad I didn't miss it.
Sam: We'd better get going.
Piper: Is it time for Fanny's competition?
Sam: Just about.
Sharon: Oh, okay. Now wait, you guys. Whether Fanny wins or not, we all know that she is the best lamb in all of San Pueblo, okay?
Piper: Okay.
Sharon: (Chuckles)
Man: That's the, uh, San Pueblo city limits, and here is the accident site. Can you find your way there?
Nick: Yeah, I'll be right behind you. (Sighs)
Adam: The guy's good. He's thorough.
Nick: Yeah. I'm gonna go check this out, and then I'm gonna go home. I need to be with my kids.
Adam: Okay, I'll stick around a little while in case Bob has any questions.
Diane: Hey. Have a safe flight.
Diane: (Sighs) So... what would you like to do now? I could get us a couple hotel rooms for the night so you wouldn't have to worry about that. I--
Adam: Diane.
Diane: I'm-- I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad to see you. I know you've said you loved Sharon. I didn't realize... I'm sorry.
Adam: Thank you. I just need, uh, need a little time, I guess. Maybe I'll just get away from here for a little while, go to that festival or something. (Sniffles)
Diane: Okay, I'm up-- I'm up for that. It might be fun.
Adam: Diane, I appreciate you, uh, coming out here all this way. I do. But I think... I think what Nicholas said was-- was true. There's-- there's no place for you here.
Adam: (Sighs)
Kay: Nina's gonna calm down in time.
Paul: Well, it might be a very long time.
Kay: Oh.
Paul: That's something, uh, Nina and I will have to work out. So, um, how's Tucker?
Kay: Well, every time I go to the hospital, I'm hoping he'll open his eyes, but... I don't know, nothing changes.
Paul: I'm sorry. I-I-I can postpone that business we discussed if you're not ready--
Kay: No, no. No, no. No, no, no. I want you to set about that search as soon as possible. After all, I do have a grandson out there I've never known.
Paul: Do you have any more information for me?
Kay: Not a clue.
Paul: Okay, so I don't know if I'm looking for a toddler, a teenager, or an adult. And considering Tucker's international connections, this--this son of his could be anywhere.
Kay: Mm, oh, I know that. He's been with any number of women. I'm gonna get you Tucker's private files. You can go over those, and we can, um, we can start this search in earnest.
Chloe: You want to talk to me?
Heather: Yeah, about your custody case.
Chloe: Okay, well, whatever it is, can't it just wait till tomorrow?
Heather: I have an assignment in New York, so I'm-- I'm passing your case on to another lawyer in Michael's office.
Chloe: (Scoffs) This is so your thing.
Heather: Wh-what? Being responsible? Making sure that my client's needs are being met? Yeah, yeah. That is my thing.
Chloe: No, no, what you do is you get people to rely on you, and then you dump them. You did it to Chance, and now you're just doing it to me.
Heather: No, I'm not.
Chloe: I am fighting for my child, and you just don't seem to care. You're just gonna pick up, you're gonna leave, and just leave this entire mess behind you?
Heather: Chloe, I realize this is an emotional day for you, but I refuse to be your punching bag.
Paul: Heather? Ready to go?
Heather: Definitely.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Jill: Hey, you.
Nina: Hey.
Jill: Pretty impressive backing off of that smack down with Heather.
Nina: Just thinking of Chance. (Voice breaking) Shoot.
Jill: Don't.
Nina: I don't want to cry right now.
Jill: Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't. Get angry. Get angry, okay? Think about how much you'd like to drop-kick her.
Nina: (Normal voice) Okay, good. It's working.
Jill: Okay?
Nina: Give me more.
Jill: Remember how you hated me? Remember when you were pregnant, and you lived here with Katherine and me, and you wanted to tear my hair out and kick me down the stairs?
Nina: Yes, I do. (Laughs)
Jill: (Laughs) Do you still?
Nina: (Laughs)
Jill: (Laughs)
Chance: I was hoping that we'd get some good news about Tucker before I had to take off. I really hate to leave you guys right now.
Kay: Oh, hey, now listen. I can take care of myself.
Murphy: Yeah, and there are plenty of us to force her to do it.
Chance: (Laughs)
Kay: No, seriously. Uh, you know, if you need help, just shout out. No, no, listen to me. I-I know a couple of generals, and I won't hesitate to call them if necessary.
Chance: You are one scary woman, Katherine. I'll tell you that.
Murphy: (Chuckles) Oh...
Kay: (Chuckles)
Chance: (Chuckles)
Nina: It's later than I thought it was.
Chance: I'll get my gear.
Jill: (Sighs)
Chloe: Hey, Guys, no tears, right?
Jill: (Sighs)
Nina: Yes, Ma'am.
Diane: (Sighs)
Nick: What are you doing?
Diane: I thought you were going out to the accident site.
Nick: That just took a few minutes.
Diane: Looks like we're gonna be stuck with each other for a while.
Nick: (Sighs) Where's Adam?
Diane: He's in San Pueblo for now. You're obviously annoyed that we're sitting together, but I'm here. So you can either talk to me like you used to, or ignore me completely.
Piper: I can't believe Fanny and I won the blue ribbon.
Sharon: Oh, I never doubted it. She's excited.
Piper: I can tell. I can't wait to show my mom and dad.
Sam: Well, I guess we should probably hit the road, huh?
(Medal jingling)
Piper: Already?
Sharon: Hey, uh, didn't you say something about cotton candy?
Piper: (Gasps) Can I get some? Please? Please?
Fanny: (Bleats)
Sam: Do you mind?
Sharon: (Chuckles) Why don't we get the big one and we'll eat it on the way home?
Sam: All right, we'll be right back.
Sharon: All right.
Sam: Come on.
Piper: Okay. Come on, Fanny.
Fanny: (Bleats)
Heather: Thank you for stopping here, Dad. Ooh, Boy, I did not have an appetite until now.
Paul: Are you all packed?
Heather: Mm-hmm.
Paul: Great. So we got your sandwich to go. We'll swing by, pick up your bags, and we'll be at the airport in plenty of time.
Heather: (Sighs) I didn't know I'd be in such a rush. Of course, I also didn't know we'd be going over to the Chancellors', not that I'm complaining.
Paul: Well, you seem happier.
Heather: Yeah, I am.
Paul: I'm gonna miss you when you're gone.
Heather: (Chuckles) I'll be back before you know it.
Jill: (Sighs) (Sighs)
Kay: (Sighs)
Esther: Ooh. (Inhales sharply) I love you, Chance. Please be careful. Please. (Sniffles)
Chloe: I couldn't send you off without some lip-lock.
