Episode # 9654 ~ Colin's Manipulation of Lily Is Revealed

Chloe: Hey, uh, how about some candles?

Kevin: They're, uh...they're under the counter.

Chloe: Um, a Ouija board? Was this...

Kevin: Uh, yeah, it was Jana's.

Chloe: (Scoffs) Get it away from me.

Jill: What? I'm just checking to see if I accidentally turned off the sound.

Colin: I think you need to go back to the hospital and...

Jill: (Scoffs)

Colin: Be with Katherine.

Jill: Well, you don't know Katherine like I know Katherine, okay? She doesn't like to not be in control. It makes her very crabby, and trust me, it won't help if I'm there.

Colin: (Sighs)

Jill: I'm sure that Tucker's stable. The nurse told me that she would call me otherwise.

Colin: I think it would help her if you were there. I mean, she might lose her son. (Sighs) I mean, going through what you've just gone through with Cane, you know what that's like.

Jill: If I thought she really needed me, I would--

Colin: Look... (Sighs) Beneath that black heart, there is a bond.

Jill: Oh, my God, you're exactly the opposite, and I would have regretted it later.

Colin: Yeah. You don't want to have regrets. Come on. I'll drive you.

Jill: Okay.

Colin: (Sighs)

Jill: You should tell him what you saw earlier.

Colin: Uh, that can wait. Katherine can't.

Jill: No, no, no, no, no. It'll only take a few minutes, okay? If it were my daughter, I'd want to know.

Colin: All right.

Jill: Okay. Neil?

Neil: Yeah? Hi, Jill, Colin.

Jill: I'm really glad that we ran into you.

Neil: Really? What's happening? What's going on?

Colin: Uh... (Sighs) I dropped by to see Lily earlier, and I--something happened. I-I wasn't gonna bring it up. Uh, Jill thinks I should. Uh, we're both concerned about Lily.

Cane: It took them a long time to go down. Maybe they're, um, afraid I won't be here when they wake up.

Lily: Yeah, I don't... think that you should be. I think that you should go.

Cane: What's the matter?

Lily: I mean, the twins-- they--they saw you. They--they touched you.

Cane: Yeah, that's right. They did.

Lily: Well, what if somebody walks in and--and sees them the way that Colin saw me talking to you?

Cane: Maybe we should just be more careful.

Lily: No, I-I don't think that you should be here. It's--it's wrong. It's too much of a risk.

(Monitors beeping)

Kay: He seems to be doing very well. His breathing is regular.

Dr. Charles: That's what we want to see.

Kay: Could that mean that he's turned the corner?

Dr. Charles: I can't guarantee there won't be setbacks. The next 24 hours will be critical.

Mauro: Where-- where's Abby?

Ashley: She was taken to radiology for tests.

Mauro: I'd hoped to get her statement for the accident.

Ashley: Sorry.

Mauro: That's okay. It's a good opportunity for me to finish taking yours.

Ashley: You know, Detective, actually, I'll let you know when I'm ready to speak with you, okay? Because this experience has been stressful enough without having you harass me.

Mauro: You're feeling harassed?

Ashley: I-I do. I feel harassed, yeah. And if I have to get an attorney to get you to back off, then I will.

Mauro: Why don't I just check in with you later?

Ashley: Okay.

Ashley: Hey.

Abby: Hey, Mom.

Ashley: Hi, Honey. Thank you so much. How are you feeling?

Abby: Like I really want to go home.

Ashley: Well, I think you're gonna be released soon. The doctors just have to check out your test results.

Abby: How are things with Tucker?

Ashley: He's breathing on his own, so that's positive.

Abby: He's still in a coma?

Ashley: Yeah, but it's to be expected, you know? It's the kind of head injury he has.

Abby: There's something that I don't understand.

Ashley: What's that?

Abby: You know, you said you were driving.

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Abby: I remember getting behind the wheel. I remember you were sitting in the passenger seat when we left Gloworm.

Ashley: Right. Now do you remember that you were swerving all over the road?

Abby: I was?

Ashley: Mm-hmm. Yeah, you had clearly had too much to drink.

Abby: (Sighs)

Ashley: So I told you to pull over. You probably don't remember that, either, do you?

Abby: Everything after we left Gloworm is gone.

Ashley: Well, you know, practically from the second that I-I took the wheel from you, you passed out, so you wouldn't remember anything beyond that.

Abby: Oh.

Ashley: And then you were asleep when the accident happened.

Abby: I was?

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Abby: Um, I just... (Sighs) I mean, everything that happened before I passed out--I just-- why would I not remember that?

Ashley: Honey, you had a lot to drink, way too much. Why are you expending all this energy trying to recover memories that you don't have? I'd rather have you focus on getting better and getting out of here.

Kay: Well, here I am again. If you want me to stop badgering you, you know what you've gotta do-- I mean, take what has gone on this past year. I mean, Liz and Sharon and Cane. I... yeah, I know you did spare Murphy. I--you know how grateful I am for that. I mean, has a day gone by that you have-- well, I know there's not a day that's gone by that--that-- that I haven't told you how grateful I am. And, um, I just have a sneaking suspicion that, um... the whole point of that was to take me down just maybe, like, a peg or two, teach me, you know, humility. Because there I was barreling down the wrong road, and boom! In you stepped and... had you not set me straight, I don't know what my life would be like today. I don't. More and more, I'm realizing that you had a whole other purpose in mind, testing me like that...protecting myself, preparing myself... you know, like Tucker now, this situation. But if you do want me to stay humble, I mean, what better way, for God sa-- for God sake than to keep Tucker in my life? Has anyone---anyone done a better job of rubbing my nose in my failures than Tucker? Oh, come on, Joe can't even compare. But thank you. (Sniffles) (Sighs) Thank you for giving me a second chance.

(Monitor alarm beeping)

Tucker: (Breathing shallowly)

Woman: Heart rate is 40 and dropping. B.P. is elevated.

Dr. Charles: Get him to the O.R.

Woman: But he has a D.N.R. we need to--

Dr. Charles: He's breathing on his own, so we're not violating anything by putting in tubing. Anyway, there's no time to argue this. He needs that surgery now.

Tucker: (Breathing shallowly)

Colin: When I arrived, she, uh, was in the midst of a very animated conversation.

Jill: She was talking into thin air. There was nobody there.

Neil: Well, uh, I mean, maybe, uh, she could have been on the phone. I-I-if it was on speaker, or...

Colin: That's not the explanation she gave me.

Neil: What'd she say?

Colin: That she was praying out loud.

Neil: Is that so hard to believe?

Colin: Well, the, uh, the wild hand movements, animated facial expressions... I would swear that she was interacting with someone.

Jill: (Exhales)

Neil: You know, that's kind of interesting, because, uh, sometimes... sometimes I talk to Dru, and I imagine her response. I'm--I'm sure you've done the same with John, Jill, right?

Jill: Yeah, of course I have, and it could be that. It could be, all right? It's just, you said that... she thought she saw Cane at the cemetery after the burial, all right? And we were there at Sofia's birthday party when it happened. It just seems like maybe this is the same sort of thing.

Colin: She's seeing a therapist.

Neil: Excu--excuse me?

Jill: Oh, Neil, for God sake, if she needs help, she shouldn't be ashamed to ask for it.

Colin: I mean, there are children involved here.

(Cell phone rings)

Jill: Oh, excuse me. Yes?

Neil: (Sighs)

Jill: What happened? Yeah, well, thank you for calling me.

Colin: What?

Jill: It's Tucker. It's an emergency surgery. I've gotta go.

Colin: We'll continue this later. I--

Neil: Yeah.

Jill: No, no, no, no. We should do it now, okay? I'm all right to drive. This is important, okay? And besides which, we know how Katherine feels about you.

Neil: Jill, if she needs anything at all, please...

Jill: The same thing goes for us with Lily, okay?

Neil: Yeah.

Jill: Mwah. Anything we can do.

Neil: Yeah.

Colin: She means that. We think the world of Lily.

Neil: You barely know Lily.

Chloe: My fortune is better than yours--again.

Kevin: I don't care. I am done with fortune-telling.

Chloe: Its okay, you know, to talk about Jana.

Kevin: What is there left to say?

Chloe: Well, maybe nothing to me. Is there something you want to say to her?

Kevin: I think it's a little late for that.

Chloe: Or maybe not. What if you can communicate with her? It's worth a shot.

Lily: Wait. (Sighs)

Cane: What is it? Don't you miss this?

Lily: Yes, of-- of course I do. I... maybe I just-- I-I need it so much that I just invented this. I mean, I can feel your blood pulsing. And the twins-- they--they see you, and they played with you. I mean, I-I... am I hallucinating this?

Cane: Aren't you happy? We're together again.

Lily: I just--I-I can't-- I can't lose touch with reality. I mean, they-- they need their mother.

Cane: They need their father, too. Okay? It's my love for you, Baby, that's brought me here.

Lily: Are you really here?

Colin: You're right. I haven't been in Genoa City all that long. In fact, I don't know many people, probably only my wife. But you don't have to be around Lily l hat long to realize how special she is, and she's had a lot thrown at her of late, and she's handled it with grace, but everybody has a breaking point.

Neil: Yeah, that's true. I understand that, and I appreciate your concern, but let's leave it up to Lily's family to take care of her, okay?

Colin: Jill considers herself part of that family, Lily as her daughter-in-law, and--and the grandkids as--

Neil: Yeah, Colin, Charlie and Matty are just fine.

Colin: Did I say something to offend you?

Neil: You keep bringing up these kids like they're in some kind of jeopardy.

Colin: You misunderstand me.

Neil: Well, let's just make sure no one else misunderstands you the same way, okay? Because the wrong words in the wrong ears can have devastating consequences. I have seen it happen before.

Colin: You and Jill are the only two people that I have shared my concerns with.

Neil: That's good, because you wouldn't want to be responsible for costing me my grandkids.

Colin: Nobody knows more than I what those kids mean to you.

Neil: Hmm.

Abby: Are you in trouble for hitting Tucker? They--they know it was an accident, right? It was an accident, right?

Ashley: Of course it was an accident. (Sighs) Abby, there's a, um, a detective that's investigating, and she's gonna want to ask you questions, but I really don't want you to talk to her, okay?

Abby: Why not?

Ashley: Because you're not well enough, and I don't want you to put yourself through that.

Abby: None of this would be happening if I had just shut up and minded my own business. You'd be on your honeymoon.

Abby: Are you furious with me?

Ashley: No.

Abby: I wouldn't blame you if you were.

Ashley: You were right about Tucker. I saw Diane. She was on her way to meet him at the cabin.

(Door opens)

Dr. Berkseth: (Sighs) Ready for your farewell checkup?

Ashley: (Sighs)

Kay: Oh, dear God. Oh, God, what happened? Uh... what--what's...?

Kay: Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.

Jill: Now the nurse just told me the doctor's on his way here to explain. Oh, here he is.

Kay: Oh. (Stammers) What happened? I just heard emergency surgery--

Dr. Charles: There was additional bleeding, more serious this time, because it was coming from an artery rather than a vein, causing increased pressure.

Kay: Were you able to help him?

Dr. Charles: The bleeding stopped once we clipped the lacerated blood vessel.

Jill: Oh, thank God. Then he's okay?

Dr. Charles: We repeated the C.T. scan. It indicated more extensive damage than from the initial traumatic insult.

Kay: I see. Now what--what would that mean?

Dr. Charles: My primary concern is that he'll be able to continue breathing after we take him off the ventilator.

Kay: Mm-hmm. Right.

Jill: Well, then don't take him off the ventilator.

Dr. Charles: He has a "Do not intubate" order in his living will. We have no choice.

Kay: Uh, how much time would that give me before you take him off the ventilator?

Dr. Charles: I'm sorry, Mrs. Chancellor. As you know, I have to follow your son's wishes to the letter. I can't delay the procedure.

Kay: I-I-I-I swear. I was just in the chapel, you know, thanking God for a second chance, and now... it's gone. That he would leave this planet and... well, thinking that-- that I despised him--

Jill: No. No, no, no. He knows the truth.

Kay: Okay, God, please. Wake him up... just one more time so I can tell him.

Dr. Berkseth: Feeling nausea?

Abby: No.

Dr. Berkseth: Headaches? Blurred vision?

Abby: Nope.

Dr. Berkseth: Well, I'll have them bring you in the paperwork so you can get out of here.

Abby: Great.

Abby: You still love Tucker.

Ashley: I'm sure that surprises you.

Abby: Not really.

Ashley: (Sighs)

Abby: Oh, I hate seeing you hurting.

Ashley: You probably hate him for basically causing all this, right?

Abby: I'm so sorry I have to tell you this. Diane only went to that cabin because--

Ashley: No, I'm not-- I'm not hearing any more about Diane and Tucker, Abby.

Abby: No, I just-- I just need you to listen to me.

Ashley: Abby! Abby, stop.

(Door opens)

Jill: I am sorry. I am interrupting.

Ashley: No, it's okay. What? What's happening?

Jill: Um, I don't know if you've heard about this, but they had to take Tucker back into surgery, okay?

Ashley: Yeah?

Jill: Well, he--he's come through it, but the doctor says... (Sighs) There's reduced brain activity.

Ashley: Oh, no.

Jill: They're bringing him back to his room now.

Abby: Mom, go, go.

Ashley: Okay.

Cane: All I know for sure is how I feel when I'm with you, and I can trust in that like I always have. Can't you do the same?

Lily: I want to. I do, but... things were better. They were--they were safer when we--we kept them at the cemetery.

Cane: Look, if you-- if you want to establish boundaries, we can establish boundaries and whatever rules you want, all right? I'll be fine with that. Just don't... don't take my kids away from me, please?

Lily: For all I know, you're a figment of my imagination.

Cane: Really? Really? Yeah? Tell me something. Does a figment of your imagination make your heart race like this? Hmm? Look, I don't know how much time I have, Sweetheart. So can we just not waste any more time? Hmm?

(Knock on door)

Lily: (Sighs)

Cane: (Sighs)

Neil: (Sighs)

(Knock on door)

Lily: (Sighs)

Kevin: I can't believe you're up for this.

Chloe: Well, look, it's probably gonna give me nightmares, but if Jana's trying to contact you, this is probably how she's gonna do it, right?

Kevin: Eh... maybe. (Clears throat) Jana... (Sighs) If you can hear us, uh... let us know.

Chloe: And we're not mad. We're just... we're just checking in.

Kevin: Hmm.

Chloe: This is a bust. Whoa. "G." Did you just do that?

Kevin: No.

Chloe: Go... g-go away?

Kevin: Wait.

Chloe: (Sighs) Another "O."

Kevin: "Good." She's good?

Chloe: I guess she's good. I don't--wait. More.

Chloe: "B."

Kevin: Whoa.

Chloe: "Y." I think I know where she's going with this.

Kevin: Good-bye. Good-bye. (Sighs)

Kay: Well, Ashley, I... I didn't want to say this in front of, uh, Tucker, you know, just in case he--

Ashley: I mean, he seems to be doing okay without a ventilator.

Kay: I-I know that, but the doctor says that can change. Darling, when a person is comatose, the muscles in the airway sometimes collapse, and he wouldn't be able to breathe. He never anticipated a s-- a situation like this--he-- when he wrote that living will. I mean, he is a man who would never give up. I know my son. He wouldn't give up having someone like you out here waiting for him.

Ashley: (Sniffles)

Kay: He loves you. He truly does. You know, he--

Ashley: (Sighs)

Kay: He has his moments. He disappoints-- disappoints people. But don't you ever doubt for one minute that he does not love you.

Ashley: I don't know what you've heard.

Kay: Rumors. Come on. They're just rumors. I-I mean, I-I-I really don't care to discuss it... unless you do. Fine, then. And I don't care what police or... reporters or anyone has to say. I don't give a damn, because I just want you to know that I know you didn't try to kill my son.

Abby: I was just trying to protect her. You know as well as I do that Tucker would have sliced her heart to ribbons. I just wanted to wake her up. She trusts everybody, no matter what huge liars they are. She trusted me. (Sighs) I am gonna tell her the truth-- that it was me that got Diane to come to the cabin and not Tucker, and she is gonna hate me. And she still won't have Tucker. I didn't want him to die, okay? I just wanted him to leave us alone. What am I gonna do now? (Sighs) god.

Mauro: Abby? I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to intrude. Um, I'm detective Mauro.

Abby: I'm not supposed to talk to you.

Mauro: Oh, really? Who said that? Your mother?

Mauro: Why do you suppose she doesn't want us to talk?

(Monitors beeping)

Jill: (Sighs)

Jill: Just one more reminder not to bet against you. You're about as tenacious as they come, aren't you? Except, of course, for your mother. She's fighting as hard as you are on your behalf. It wouldn't be smart to let her down. Listen, Tucker, I know she's not easy to please, 'cause I saw just now how much she needs me and depends on me, and that goes double for you. Please don't abandon her. I don't think she could bear it.

Kay: Good news.

Jill: What?

Kay: We found a loophole in the living will. We're gonna save your life in spite of your stubborn self. Oh, Tucker, Tucker.

Mauro: I don't plan to ask any trick questions. I just want to wrap this up. I mean, I've been waiting around a while. I mean, I could go get a subpoena, but you probably don't want to drag this out any longer than I do.

Abby: No.

Mauro: So... why don't you just fill me in about what happened last night?

Abby: (Sighs) I don't remember much past Gloworm. I kinda had a lot to drink. (Sighs)

Mauro: Yeah, good point. Uh, your blood alcohol content was .10.

Abby: Whoa, really?

Mauro: Mm-hmm.

Abby: Well, that would be why my mom was driving.

Mauro: Did she seem tired or distracted? I mean, the reason I'm asking is there was a report that the car was drifting on the road.

Abby: I don't remember that.

Mauro: Well, let's just talk about the accident itself. What was your mother's reaction when she saw Tucker?

Abby: Um... I-I have no memory of that. I-I-I was already passed out by then.

Mauro: Are you sure about that? Because according to your mother... yes, here. She said that the two of you were arguing before the accident.

Ashley: What's going on?

Neil: So too late for me to be visiting?

Lily: Uh, no, no, no. It's fine. Um... (Clears throat) I'm just-- I'm a little out of it. It's been a-a long day.

Neil: Yeah? What's been going on?

Lily: Um, nothing. Just, you know, the twins.

Neil: Mm-hmm. What's new with them?

Lily: Not a whole lot.

Neil: Hey, Honey. Are you not getting enough sleep?

Lily: (Scoffs) Why? Does it show?

Neil: Maybe, um, this is just a suggestion, but maybe this is something that you could talk to your therapist Dr. Mason about.

Lily: Okay. (Stammers) What's going on? Why are you hovering?

Neil: I'm not--I'm not-- I'm not hovering. I-I--actually, I ran into Colin earlier.

Lily: Right. (Sighs) You ran into Colin, and he said that I was talking to myself.

Neil: No. He said that you were talking to someone else.

Colin: Well, I'm glad you could finally make it.

Kevin: You know, the Ouija board's not usually so on the nose. You did it, didn't you? You spelled out "Good-bye."

Chloe: Me? No.

Kevin: Oh, come on. You are so busted.

Chloe: Oh, okay, fine. I'm sorry. Fine. I'm sure it's some flagrant violation of the Ouija board etiquette or something like that, but... nothing was happening, and I just wanted you to get closure.

Kevin: Well, now we get to do it again.

Chloe: Seriously?

Kevin: Yeah, seriously. I'm not settling for your pity push.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Kevin: We have to give it a real chance. Put your hands on it and ask it a serious question. All right. Jana... what do I do now? What do I do to fill the void that you have left in my life?

Chloe: Whoa. That was quick.

Kevin: Well, sometimes, you just have to know...

Chloe: "S," "P"...

Kevin: How to tap into...

Chloe: "R"...

Kevin: The spiritual energy.

Chloe: "A"...

Kevin: Hmm.

Chloe: Hey!

Kevin: Ow.

Chloe: You're spelling "Spray tan girl."

Kevin: Oh, wow. Really, Jana? Okay. (Sighs)

Chloe: That is so not funny.

Kevin: Oh, come on. It's a little funny.

Chloe: No, I was trying to help you when I pushed it.

Kevin: I know, and it was very sweet-- manipulative and sneaky, but sweet.

Chloe: (Gasps)

Kevin: And you need to know that Jana, the real Jana, I said good-bye to her a long time ago.

Chloe: Yeah?

Kevin: Yeah.

Ashley: You know, Detective, I think this is unethical. My daughter is medicated and probably still in shock.

Abby: Well, I told her that I don't remember anything.

Ashley: Could you go back to your hospital room, please? I'll be there in a second.

Mauro: I will need to speak with you and your daughter again. There are discrepancies in your stories.

Ashley: Really? How so?

Mauro: I'll be in touch.

Ashley: (Sighs) God.

Ashley: Victor, hi. Not so good. I'm gonna take you up on your offer to call Michael. I think I'm gonna need an attorney after all.

(Monitors beeping)

Abby: You know, I, um, I think my mom would have survived knowing that you cheat. (Voice breaking) But I don't know how she's supposed to live with this, knowing that she did this to you. None of this would have happened if I had just stayed out of it. Oh, God, this is all my fault. (Cries) I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.

Kay: My lawyers have confirmed that, uh, there's nothing that prohibits you from putting in a feeding tube.

Dr. Charles: Technically, no, but if we did that, we may have to put Tucker on a ventilator.

Kay: Really? I'm so very surprised.

Dr. Charles: It would violate the spirit of the living will.

Jill: You think we care about that?

Kay: As the next of kin, I insist he have a feeding tube immediately.

Lily: You know, I knew this was gonna happen. I told Colin that I was fine, that I was just praying. Sometimes when I pray, I talk to Cane. There's nothing wrong with that.

Neil: All right, all right. It sounded a little bit like what happened after the funeral when you were talking to Cane. That's all.

Lily: No, Dad. No. No. It is not like that.

Neil: Okay. All right. Baby, I'm not here to judge you, all right? I just want to help. Whatever you need, I'm here.

Lily: I don't need anything. I'm fine.

Neil: Lily, this is me you're talking to, all right? If there's anything you want to tell me, anything at all, please feel free.

Baby: (Cries)

Lily: (Sighs) That's Charlie, and he's gonna want me to rock him, so I think that you should go.

Neil: All right, cool. I love you. I'll talk to you later.

Lily: (Sighs)

Colin: The game is finally afoot. Even Lily's family thinks she's talking to the walls. She's four steps from the nuthouse. And when she's comfortably checked in, I intend to scoop up the grandchildren and take them back to Australia, raise them as Atkinsons.

Man: As it should be.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Mauro: Maybe she was going out there to confront the man who walks on water.

Abby: No, that is not what happened. This was my fault.

Sofia: If he wants it done, I have to make sure that happens. That's my job.

Kay: Accept it and move on.

Adam: Meet my new roommate.
