Tucker: One more step, and...
Ashley: Should I be nervous?
Tucker: No, no, no. Nervous is not the reaction I was goin' for.
Ashley: Okay.
Tucker: Here we go.
Ashley: (Gasps)
Tucker: That's the reaction I was going for.
Tucker: Huh?
Ashley: It's gorgeous. Thank you.
Tucker: You're welcome.
Ashley: Mm, it's beautiful.
Tucker: Oh, no, no, no, no. Come on. Come on. We need to practice.
Ashley: Traci's flight has already landed, and I need to make sure everything's ready for dinner.
Tucker: Okay. it'll give me a little time to do some work.
Ashley: Mm-hmm.
Tucker: I'll see you in a bit?
Ashley: Mm-hmm. It's so incredibly beautiful.
Tucker: Mm.
Ashley: I love you so much. Thank you so much.
Tucker: I love you.
Ashley: I love you so much. Oh, I can't believe this!
Tucker: Bye-bye.
Tucker: Hi. I need to see you tonight.
Victor: I'm not ready to let you go.
Diane: I can't lose this, not again.
Nick: "Suicide"-- as if Noah doesn't have enough to deal with already and someday, Faith is gonna hear all this.
Victoria: Jana-- she held Lucy, and she--she fed her. Now I-I can't believe that this is even happening.
Billy: I just got off the phone with Esther. Delia's fine, but she's definitely picking up on the weirdness. Honey, I think I'm gonna go over there tonight and tuck her in.
Nick: Vick told me that Michael dropped Phyllis as a client.
Billy: Yes.
Nick: A tiny sliver of good news, but we're gonna take it.
Victoria: Phyllis is Michael's best friend, though, so why would he back off unless someone asked him to? Like Dad.
(Knock on door)
Nick: It'd be great if losing Michael would make Phyllis walk away from this completely.
Victoria: (Sighs) Great. (Sighs)
Billy: Hey.
Jack: Hey, you got a minute?
Billy: Yeah, come on in.
Jack: Nick, I didn't expect to see you.
Nick: Hey.
Billy: What's up?
Jack: I just came from seeing Phyllis. Michael has excused himself.
Victoria: Yeah, we heard. It could be a good sign.
Jack: No, I think Phyllis is rolling on. She is gonna fight you for full custody.
Victoria: So no truce? No working together for Lucy's sake?
Nick: You can't talk her out of coming after your brother's family?
Jack: I don't have the sway with Phyllis I once had. We parted ways.
Nick: I'm sorry. I didn't know that.
Jack: Look, when Phyllis is like this, no one can change her mind.
Billy: What are you trying to say, Jack?
Jack: I'm saying you should prepare for all-out war.
Phyllis: Hey.
Daniel: Mm.
Phyllis: Leslie should be here any second.
Daniel: (Sighs)
Phyllis: Um, she'll probably have the D.N.A. test results. I mean, maybe. (Clears throat) We can get interim custody and... Daniel, are you listening?
Daniel: Yeah, um, Abby and I broke up. It's over. It's done.
Phyllis: I'm sorry. Mm, she's Victoria's sister. That would have been complicated, right? Listen, just focus on getting Lucy out of foster care and home with us.
Abby: Mom? Uncle Jack?
Traci: Abby? Hi.
Abby: Aunt Traci. (Sighs)
Traci: Ohh. Honey, it's gonna be okay.
Abby: No, no, it's not. Mom and Tucker and Daniel-- it's--it's-- absolutely nothing is okay. Oh, thank God you're here.
Traci: Honey?
Abby: (Sighs)
Victor: You know me too well, don't you? Hmm? You knew that when Michael Baldwin refused to defend Phyllis, that I had something to do with it. Didn't you?
Nikki: Well, I was hardly reading your mind.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Nikki: The day you stop loving your children is the day I'll check you for a pulse.
Victor: (Laughs)
Nikki: Mm. Why are you laughing?
Victor: It feels so good.
Victor: What?
Nikki: Victor, I'm sorry, but this was a mistake.
Nick: (Cell phone rings)
Victoria: Phyllis knows how much we love Lucy. She knows that. She agreed that-- that we would raise her.
Nick: (Sighs)
Jack: Problems, Nick?
Nick: Uh, look, the only thing that matters right now is Lucy. Vick, you got two families behind you on this. We'll help you however we can.
Victoria: You're gonna help me? You're gonna help me get her back, or are you gonna help me cope if I lose her? Oh, I'm sorry. You know what? Don't answer that. I just--I can't have a rational conversation right now. And I'm really glad that you're with us on this, so thanks.
Nick: First Reed, now this.
Billy: You know what, Guys? I am gonna go be with my wife. I don't think she should be alone.
Jack: Yeah, yeah, you go. Hey, listen, don't worry about Ashley and Traci. You can skip the dinner tonight, both of you.
Billy: I might do that. Thanks.
Jack: Yeah.
Billy: I'll--I'll keep you posted. See you later. (Clears throat)
Nick: It's fair to say this month couldn't suck any more than it does. Wow. (Sighs) You know, I'm--I'm sorry about bringing up Phyllis. That's, uh, that's between you two. Sorry.
Jack: Yeah, things are real nice in St. Bart’s this time of year.
Nick: We didn't go down there expecting to--
Jack: Yeah, yeah, no. You know, we've already been down this road a few times. I don't think we have to go any further. Whatever you and Phyllis do is none of my concern. Besides, you and I have bigger things to deal with right now.
Phyllis: So the test results--
Leslie: No, no, the D.N.A. test results aren't in yet.
Phyllis: Are they--no. All right. All right. Okay. We know what they are. So let me just--let me ask you, um, so once we--we prove to the court that--that Lucy is Daniel's biological daughter, then how quickly can we get her out of foster care?
Leslie: Uh, well, it's not always that easy.
Phyllis: All right, well, listen, Leslie. It was an illegal adoption. I'm sorry. Billy and Victoria, they're not blood.
Leslie: (Sighs) Yeah, which is actually why we have another concern-- the biological mother.
Daniel: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Daisy? Come on. The courts are gonna let her swing by while she's a fugitive, grab the kid? They'll chase her all the way to the door? Come on.
Leslie: Yeah, well, her parental rights haven't been legally terminated. And until they are, no one can get permanent custody of Lucy-- not Billy and Victoria, and not you two. I'm sorry. I have to check in with a client, but as soon as I hear anything, I'll let you know.
Phyllis: Thank you.
Leslie: Yeah.
Daniel: Just when you think things can’t get any worse.
Phyllis: (Muttering) No, no, I-it's fine. She's a lawyer. Come on. They--they're trained to talk like that.
Daniel: Mom, this has to stop before Daisy messes that kid's life forever.
Nick: Phyllis, it's me. I need you to call me.
Nick: Hi.
Diane: Hi.
Nick: I saw you called. Uh, sorry. Things have been kind of crazy.
Diane: I just wanted to check in. I've been thinking a lot about you since Sharon's funeral. I hope things have gotten easier, less awful, at least.
Nick: (Sighs) Easier. Um, no, not easier.
Diane: Well, I'm happy to listen if you'd like to talk. I could use the distraction, really, 'cause things for me have not been all that easy, either.
(Cell one buzzes)
Nick: Phyllis, where are you? Okay, I'm on my way. Sorry, I gotta, uh, I gotta take off.
Diane: No, o-of course. I hope things... get better.
Daniel: How the hell is this my life, huh? Oh, oh, yeah, I forgot. Daisy drugs me, and then she has sex with me. This is ridiculous.
Phyllis: It's insane. It's--tell me about Saskatoon. How is Daisy? I mean, mentally, how is she?
Daniel: Well, she didn't have anyone locked in a cage, if that's what you mean, but she's still a delusional loose cannon, and now that freak has a say in an innocent kid's life? Come on.
Phyllis: Now come on. But you're here. You have say in--in her life.
Daniel: (Sighs)
Phyllis: You are here. You're not on the run. That counts for something.
Daniel: I wanted that baby to have a good life with Billy and Victoria, but if she needs to be put in a foster home, you know, with another family that can keep her safe and--and keep her the hell away from Daisy? Then fine. You know what? It's time for plan "B."
Phyllis: You're already acting like a father.
Daniel: (Clears throat)
Phyllis: I'm just saying.
Tucker: Well, thanks for meeting me.
Kay: Well, I was intrigued.
Tucker: Ashley and I would still like you to be at the rehearsal dinner tomorrow.
Kay: Mm. Well, I have not made my mind up yet.
Tucker: (Sighs) You know, um, I keep hearing more and more about what an impressive person John Abbott was.
Kay: There was none better.
Tucker: I know how fond you were of him. And you've always treated Ashley like family. So please come tomorrow night. Celebrate this marriage with us for John and for Ashley. It'd mean a lot to me, too.
Kay: (Sighs) All right, I'll be there.
Tucker: Thank you.
Kay: I must admit I'm surprised. I thought you called me here for business.
Tucker: No. No, not tonight. No. Business can wait.
Kay: Well, we may as well get it out of the way, you know, before the wedding and all the distractions and...
Tucker: Um, I have consulted with legal about an idea.
Kay: Hmm?
Tucker: When Newman goes public, Chancellor can use as much liquid resources as possible to buy up a big chunk of stock and then sell it to me at a loss. Chancellor gets a major tax write-off, and we get a substantial piece of Newman. It's a win-win.
Kay: Like hell it is. I will never agree. No. You lose.
Traci: I know that things have been really hard, and I want you to know all you have to do is pick up the phone. Just call me. Whatever it is, I can handle it. There were times when Colleen was spinning out--
Abby: Wait, what? "Spinning out"?
Traci: Abby, you just dragged yourself in here hung-over, m-maybe still drunk. I know.
Abby: (Sighs)
Traci: Your mom is very worried about you.
Abby: Oh. Well, I'm not the one who is about to make the mistake of a lifetime. (Chuckles) Aunt Traci, you have to listen to me, okay? Tucker McCall, he's a liar. He's a manipulator. He's a cheat. He's a womanizer. He is. The fact that Mom is about to vow her undying love to this slimeball is so bad.
Traci: (Chuckles) Okay, Sweetie. There were, I'm sure, a lot of choice things that Colleen had to say about Steve from time to time.
Abby: No. No. No, no, no, no, no, no, Tucker is not Steve. He's not Steve. He is disgusting. He's vicious. He has Mom totally conned. This is like Adam all over again.
Ashley: Abby, you shut up, and I mean right now. How dare you compare a good, kind man like Tucker to that... that scum that Adam is?
Abby: Do you remember--
Ashley: How dare you?!
Abby: Do you remember, Mom, telling me that Adam was your only friend, that he was the only one you could count on? You believed that!
Traci: Okay, please, please, both of you, this is not the best way to handle things.
Abby: (Scoffs)
Ashley: No, Abby, don't go for it, Abby. It's time for you to sober up. You need to sober up and stop with the--stop it. Stop your tantrums. I mean, what is it? What happened? You know, I'm up at night wondering what happened to you, Abby. I mean, is it--is it-- is it Victor cutting you off? Is it Brad and Colleen? Do you miss 'em so much, Honey? I want to know. Is it me? Is it the way I brought you into the world? I'm sorry. I don't understand. Is it that you don't have the words, so you just keep lashing out at me? Wha-- why do you keep punishing me, Honey?
Abby: Did she tell you that Tucker uninvited me to the wedding? Not that I would go away.
Ashley: He uninvited you to the wedding because you were absolutely horrible to him.
Traci: Please, just a minute! Abby, do me a favor. Please stop!
Abby: This guy robbed his own mother.. he robbed his own mother, okay? He will sleep with anything in a skirt. He sucked at being a Chancellor, so now he wants to be an Abbott so that he can beat the Newmans into the ground, but I will tell you that the worst thing that Tucker McCall has ever done is show me just how weak and gullible you really are.
Kay: Very nice. All the soft-shoe about John Abbott and the wedding, and now you drop a bomb right in the middle.
Tucker: You know, I don't need your permission for this move on Newman.
Kay: Hmm, well, I have controlling interest in Chancellor.
Tucker: (Chuckles) You also have a board of directors who will approve this idea once I take it to them. They'll see it benefits Chancellor Industries.
Kay: You're a real little bastard, do you know that?
Tucker: Bastard? (Scoffs) Whose fault is that?
Victor: (Sighs) You don't have to go.
Nikki: Yes, I do. I do. This--this isn't my house. It's not my bed. That wasn't my file with architect's plans, and, Victor, you're married to somebody else, and I don't want to compromise myself, even for you.
Victor: It was wonderful. I loved it. It feels so good. You belong here with me. You know that, don't you?
Nikki: Good night. Good night.
Victor: (Sighs)
(Door closes)
Victor: (Sighs) So what do you think?
Tucker: Looks good, huh?
Jack: The mogul conquers romance.
Tucker: It's my first time at the altar. Go big or go home. Got the, uh, family dinner tonight, rehearsal dinner tomorrow, big event the day after that. You're on for tonight, right?
Jack: Oh, yeah.
Tucker: And Phyllis?
Jack: Phyllis will not be there.
Tucker: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
Jack: I'm touched.
Tucker: Ooh, there's that Jack Abbott sarcasm. (Clicks lips) You know, Jack, uh... (Sighs) I know our contact has been mostly business, but we're gonna be family now. I think we're better as comrades than rivals.
Jack: That's exactly why I offered you those shares in Newman in exchange for Jabot.
Tucker: It seemed prudent for me to respectfully decline.
Jack: So reconsider. You pair my shares in Newman with whatever you can get your hands on-- that's not just a smart business move, Brother. That's a coup d'état. I'll see you at the house.
Abby: Tucker never stops playing games. Everyone can see this except for you! You know, when Mom told you that I was such a train wreck, did she mention that Tucker's own mother thinks he's a jerk?
Ashley: That's between the two of them, and that is none of your business, Abby.
Abby: Let's talk about the brother of the bride for just a second, 'cause he didn't want this wedding to happen. He hates your fiancé, Mom.
Ashley: If he hates Tucker so much, then why did he offer to sell him his shares of Newman?
Abby: What? What? Those are my Newman shares.
Ashley: Which you sold them to Jack.
Traci: Wait. Aren't these Brad's shares? Honey--Honey, you sold them? Brad left them to Colleen. Colleen left them to you.
Abby: Oh. Uncle Jack turned on me.
Traci: (Sighs)
Abby: Why does this surprise me? Why does this surprise me?
Traci: No.
Abby: It's Vicky and Nick and Dad and you.
Traci: Sweetie, nobody-- nobody has turned on you.
Abby: And you. And you. And you. And you now, too.
Traci: Abby, stop this. You're not thinking straight.
Abby: No, please, Mom. Please take a look around...
Traci: Please, Sweetie.
Abby: Because this is how wonderful Tucker is, okay? This is--this is how great life is with him. The second that you say "I do" to that man, you are as good as lost.
Traci: Abby, wait, you can't--Abby, please. (Sobs)
Ashley: Traci. Traci.
Traci: Oh, this is terrible.
Ashley: Don't--don't...
(Front door slams)
Traci: (Sighs)
Ashley: What do I do? I mean, this isn't acting out. This is off the rails.
Traci: (Sighs) I am so sorry.
Ashley: Yeah, me, too.
Nick: Hey.
Phyllis: Hey.
Nick: I just saw Jack.
Phyllis: Okay.
Nick: You guys split up?
Phyllis: And?
Nick: He knows about St. Bart’s.
Phyllis: And?
Nick: You're not giving up this fight for Lucy, are you?
Phyllis: (Sighs) Go for the big finish.
Nick: How can you do this? How can you go after my sister's family like this?
Phyllis: There it is. There it is. There it is. There it is. Let me tell you something. Me and Jack? It's none of your business. Me and Daniel's baby? It's none of your business. Get that straight, okay?
Nick: Sit down. You're not--you're not walkin' away from me right now. Do you know what kind of hell Victoria is in right now?
Phyllis: You know, yes, I do. I do, Nick, and it doesn't make me happy.
Nick: Lucy already has two parents who love her very much.
Phyllis: And she has a biological family who never had the chance to love her.
Nick: Okay, don't do this. Don't do this. Don't get all defensive...
Phyllis: (Sighs)
Nick: And dig your heels in, all right? You have to admit, Lucy has a chance to have this amazing life with Victoria and Billy. You’ve gotta look at the whole picture.
Phyllis: How was that whole picture for you when you ripped Faith out of Ashley's arms?
Tucker: (Sighs)
Ashley: Hi.
Tucker: Hello.
Tracy: Tucker, any sign of Abby?
Tucker: No. Nothin'.
Traci: (Sighs) Well, maybe she's just chilling out on the grounds somewhere, you know?
Ashley: I bet a friend picked her up, you know? And probably, um, she's gonna pout all night, and then she'll have lots of great material for her show.
Traci: (Laughs) Maybe you're right.
Ashley: The next couple days are gonna be magical. I'm not gonna let anything ruin it, okay?
Abby: (Sniffles)
Kay: Hmm. My, that's lovely, isn't it? The way the light hits them.
Nikki: (Clears throat) Katherine, I was just thinking.
Kay: I'm sure you were.
Nikki: I know it's a mistake. I know that, but at the same time, I don't...I know that at all. I still want him.
Kay: Deacon?
Nikki: Victor.
Diane: Well, hello there.
Victor: (Sighs) There's some things we should talk about. Um... could you sit?
Diane: I'd love that. We can have dinner. You know, open a bottle of wine. Kyle's at a sleepover, so we'll have lots of time to talk.
Victor: (Sighs) You're a very bright woman. Very insightful, and I think you know what I'm about to say. I think this marriage is a mistake.
Diane: It--it isn't all bliss and romance. But we didn't expect that, did we?
Victor: (Sighs) Diane, when you and I plunged into this, we both agreed that as long as things were mutually desirable, we would stay in it. I think that time has passed.
Diane: Relationships evolve over time.
Victor: We need to be as honest and direct with each other as we were when we started this relationship. Um... you have a great son. I have provided for him in a trust that I've created for him, and you will be taken care of during the transition period. We'll have Michael Baldwin work out all the details, all right?
Diane: This is about what's going on between you and Nikki, isn't it?
Victor: (Sighs) Why do you ask that?
Nick: All right, don't do that. Don't try and compare what happened with Lucy and what happened with Faith. Lucy's parents didn't grieve for her. Lucy's parents didn't go and scatter fake ashes in the woods and cry for her. Faith was wanted.
Phyllis: Oh, are you kidding me? I went to court to make sure that this kid was not born in a prison. I've been worried sick since Daisy took off. I have done everything in my power to make sure that this baby was loved and cared for. Don't you dare sit there and tell me that she's not wanted.
Nick: Okay. Okay. You want her loved and cared for. She is getting that with Billy and Victoria. Look--
Phyllis: Nick--
Nick: She is a gift.
Phyllis: (Sighs) I am sorry.
Nick: She is a gift to them.
Phyllis: I am sorry. I am sorry. I am sick that this is happening to them. I understand what they're going through, but there's nothing that I can do about it. If I could turn back time, I would do it but I can't. I have to deal with what's happening now. I have to think of my son. Admit it. You know-- you know what the best thing for that child is.
Nick: Yes, I do. Unfortunately, you do not.
Daniel: And... this would be why I didn't tell anyone who Lucy was, for her sake and for everyone else's.
Phyllis: That? With Nick? Oh, don't worry about that. It's a big deal. We have to find Daisy and be there when she finds Lucy.
Kay: Well, we have been here many times before, haven't we? (Sighs)
Nikki: Well, Katherine, you're the one that always says that Victor and I will never be over each other.
Kay: I meant you and me and that, uh, pretty row of--of poin... although, uh, you have a point about you and the Victor thing.
Nikki: Yes.
Kay: You know, it's always been just a matter of time, hasn't it? Before you and Victor seek comfort in one another.
Nikki: Katherine, he's married.
Kay: And you're not about to be someone's mistress.
Nikki: What are you doin' here anyway?
Kay: Uh, loathing my son. (Chuckles) But he does have a point. I-I suppose John would want me to be there to support Ashley. Going to that damnable rehearsal dinner... I-I--Tucker--
Nikki: He pushes your buttons, doesn't he?
Kay: Mm. You know, makes that poison look prettier, times like these.
Nikki: (Sighs) You don't have to hint, Katherine.
Kay: Fine. Are you sober?
Nikki: I'm going to meetings.
Kay: You need that consistency. (Sighs) Now you listen to me. If you're tangling with Victor, forget Diane. The only triangle there is you, Victor...
Kay: And booze.
Diane: As I recall, the last time I asked, you said that you and Nikki had mutual respect. But it's a lot more than that, Victor. But I'm not territorial, and you and I are sophisticated people who can make our own rules. Tell you what, why don't I sleep in the guest wing tonight? And tomorrow, we can look at this with fresh eyes. In the meantime, there's no reason we can't have dinner, talk about other things. Have you seen the sketches for the upstairs office?
Victor: I'm gonna take a ride, okay? Go to the stables.
Diane: I'd be happy to go with you.
Victor: I'm going alone.
Diane: (Sighs) (Sighs) (Sighs) Aah!
(Plate shatters)
Diane: (Breathing heavily) Who's gonna get me out of this now?
Tucker: When I came to town, I didn't come to make friends. You have enough.
Traci: (Chuckles)
Tucker: And I definitely didn't come to get a family. That idea was way out of my wheelhouse. But now here I am...
Ashley: Yep.
Tucker: With all of you. And I have to tell you, I'm really impressed. You actually like each other.
Ashley: (Laughs)
Jack: Most of the time, yeah, we do.
Tucker: Well, you look out for each other.
Traci: All of the time.
Tucker: And you can damn near survive anything and you never surrender. Now that's not just any family, that's the Abbotts. And trust me when I say I know how lucky I am that you let me in.
Ashley: Me, too.
Jack: To Tucker and Ashley. May the rest of our lives be filled with as much joy and love as you feel at this moment.
Victoria: Hear, hear.
Ashley: Aw, yeah. Thank you.
(Glasses clink)
Abby: (Sobs) Mm... (Sobs) (Sighs) (Sniffles) Do you Mom-- I'm sorry--Ashley. Ashley, do you... do you promise to ditch your daughter for "Man-whore McCall"? Do you promise to fall for his shtick and to swallow all of his lies-- excuse you!
Abby: Slowly humming Wagner's "Bridal chorus from 'Lohengrin'")
Abby: (Continues humming)
Abby: Aah! (Gasps) (Breathing heavily)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Nikki: I'm an alcoholic. This is my fourth day without a drink.
Jack: As long as I get Jabot back.
Kay: You'll make a deal with the devil to get it.
Victor: I'm dissolving my marriage to Diane.
