Episode # 9646 ~ Kevin & Chloe Are Accused of Murder
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Michael: You have done everything you can as private citizens to help find Kevin. You've been on television. You've printed fliers. You're wearing T-shirts.
Kay: Oh, come on. Uh, it doesn't seem to be helping. Nothing is happening.
Gloria: Kevin is out there someplace in terrible trouble, and we need to find him.
Kevin: Nobody killed Jana. She just died.
Man: During a struggle that no one else witnessed?
Chloe: We called 9-1-1.
Kevin: We're not trying to hide anything, Detective, all right? Jana was holding me hostage--
Man: All I see is you two and a corpse. What I don't see is any proof you were innocent in all this.
Kevin: She was obsessed with me, okay? She lured me here after she kidnapped Lucy and Delia, and she had this crazy idea that the four of us would go on the run and be a family. I was the one who convinced her to take the girls to the church and let them go.
Chloe: Kevin traded himself in for my daughter and Lucy Abbott. I am telling you that Jana is the criminal, not Kevin.
Man: And yet she's the one who wound up dead, and the two of you have no one but each other to corroborate your story. Unless, and until, the evidence proves otherwise, I'm treatin' this as a homicide, and I'm lookin' at my two prime suspects.
Chloe: What?
Kevin: You gotta...
Ashley: Well, you know, the good thing is that Billy's with Jack tonight. At least he's got somebody he can talk to.
Tucker: Yeah.
Ashley: Not that I blame Victoria for wanting some time alone. Can you imagine having the authorities come in and take Lucy away like that? No parent should ever live through that kind of horror, and I know what I'm talkin' about.
Tucker: Listen, I'll keep a good thought that it works itself out quickly and your brother and Victoria can keep that baby.
Ashley: Yeah.
Tucker: But listen, if the worst happens, they will survive. You did.
Ashley: Yeah, with the help and support of people that love me.
Tucker: I hope that includes present company.
Ashley: Especially present company. You made me happy again. I didn't think I ever could be. Sometimes I feel like something is missing, you know, because once you love a child, you can never break that bond.
(Restaurant door opens)
Abby: (Laughs) Oh, Jefferson, you are just the man that I wanted to see, because we are in the mood to have some serious fun.
Jeff: Well, you've come to the right place. But, um, we're-- we're gonna need a credit card.
Abby: Oh, well, that--wait. Hold on. We got... (Grunts) One credit card coming up. Please, please, let's get this party started.
Jeff: Right this way.
Abby: Thank you, Sir. Thank you. (Laughs)
Tucker: (Sighs)
Sharon: It's such a relief that she's doing so much better.
Fanny: (Bleats)
Sharon: I was really scared for a while there.
Sam: Well, Fanny was a sick little girl. We certainly could have lost her. You know, a lot of the reason we didn't is because of you.
Sharon: Me? You're the doctor.
Fanny: (Bleats)
Sam: Well, I'm the one that provided her with the medicine. You're--you're the one that stayed up with her most nights, gave her the care she really needed.
Fanny: (Bleats)
Sharon: Hmm, well, it was a labor of love, wasn't it, Fanny?
Sam: I certainly wish I could give that kind of personalized attention to all my patients that walked through the door, but the fact of the matter is, I am overworked and understaffed. I don't suppose that...
Sharon: What?
Sam: What would you say if I asked you to work with me up at the house? In the veterinary office? I mean, you'd be great with the animals and the pet owners. And I've gotta be honest with you, I mean, anybody with a face like yours certainly shouldn't be hiding away in a barn.
Fanny: (Bleats)
Nick: Are you sure you don't want me to come over, Mom? Well, at least Vick's gettin' some sleep, I mean, even if she probably cried herself there. Okay, well, you call me if you need anything, okay? I'm just droppin' by Sharon's house to get the rest of Faith's things. Um... yeah, yeah, I love you, too. All right, good night.
[Nick remembering]
Sharon: (Giggles)
Nick: (Laughs)
(Kicks open door)
Nick: (Chuckles)
Adam: What are you doin' here?
Nick: Well, I live here, in case you forgot. Now you got three seconds to get out of here before I throw you out.
Adam: I guess you haven't heard. This is my place now.
Nick: In your dreams.
Adam: It was in Sharon's will. She left the house... (Sighs) And the ground that it sits on to me. So you can take your, uh, bad attitude and your threats, and you can walk 'em right back out the door you came in. Either that, or, uh, I can throw you out, which I'm more than happy to do.
Sharon: Well, that's... it's a really nice offer, and I love animals. Taking care of Fanny's... it's been a blessing. It's just given me a chance to take my mind off my own problems for a while.
Sam: That mean you'll take the job?
Sharon: I'm sorry, Sam, but I have to say no.
Sam: Okay, uh, do you mind if I ask why?
Nick: All right, Michael. Thanks.
Adam: So I'm assuming he told you I have the right to stay.
Nick: For now.
Adam: Good luck prying me out of here. That will is airtight.
Nick: Okay. Then I'll buy it from you.
Adam: (Laughs) You're kidding me, right?
Nick: I'll do anything to get you off this ranch. Name your price.
Adam: You're just like Dad. You think you can use money to buy and sell people.
Nick: I'll give you ten times what its worth.
Adam: This isn't about money, Jackass. The place isn't for sale.
Nick: So what, you're just gonna hang out here and try and get to us, try and piss us off?
Adam: That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I can't tell you how happy it makes me when I drive up every day, get up to that guard gate, Frank has to let me in, no questions asked, 'cause I picture Dad late at night reviewin' that security tape and his blood pressure rising as he sees me wave at the camera, and I drive through his property to get to mine. Speaking of Dad, you should talk him into having a checkup with his cardiologist. An old man with a heart transplant like that... (Clicks lips) It's not too healthy to have an elevated B.P.
Nick: Aren't you tired of wastin' your life here? Move. Go get a job. Get a new life. No one wants you here.
Adam: Sharon did. That's enough for me.
Gloria: (Sighs) While you were taking your call, Katherine has decided to kick the search up a notch.
Michael: (Sighs)
Kay: No, well, no, I'm offering a reward-- $50,000 for information that leads to Kevin being found.
Michael: Thank you. That's--that's extremely generous of you.
Kay: Well, it's the least I could do.
Gloria: And if we hurry, we can get this on the 10:00 news.
Michael: Well, all right. Hold on. Hold on. Um, what about logistics? What number are you giving the people to call?
Gloria: The number on the flier, of course.
Michael: When money is involved, there's always a higher call volume. Now who are you gonna get to answer and screen these calls?
Kay: (Sighs) That's right.
Michael: How are you going to liaison with the police department to pursue leads that are pursuable? I'm not saying this is a bad idea, but you need time to implement things.
Gloria: (Scoffs)
(Cell phone rings)
Michael: Excuse me. I'm sorry.
Gloria: (Whimpers) More delays.
Kay: No, uh, listen, listen, listen. Michael is right. Tomorrow, I'll have a phone bank set up. All right? Don't worry.
Gloria: And if it's too late?
Kay: (Scoffs)
Michael: They-- they found Kevin.
Kevin: Detective, look, Chloe and I were victims of that woman's insanity, and if Jana hadn't died, there would be two body bags, and we would both be in them.
Man: If you were really being held against your will, how did your girlfriend end up here?
Kevin: (Sighs)
Chloe: Because she called me and told me to come.
Man: You get a call from a woman you've insisted was crazy and dangerous, and you decide to check it out yourself? It never occurred to you to call the police?
Chloe: She told me that she would kill him if I did, and she's killed before. Look, I'm telling you, I walked in the door. She was holding a gun at him. He knocked it out of the way, and we just started to struggle on the floor.
Woman: The preliminary exam didn't turn up much. No obvious cause of death.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Kevin: Jana's had a brain tumor, surgeries, an aneurysm. This is all making sense now. I mean, the bizarre, crazy behavior.
Chloe: Wait, yeah, you know what? Before she died, she kind of just went limp.
Kevin: Could she have had another aneurysm? Would that explain this?
Woman: Possibly. We won't know till after the autopsy, once the tox screens come back.
Man: We'll sort it out at the station.
Chloe: (Scoffs)
Man: Guys. There's an outstanding warrant on Mr. Fisher for suspicion of kidnapping. Take him in.
Chloe: What? You can't arrest him. You're arresting him?
Man: You want a set of bracelets, too?
Kevin: Look, you be quiet. I'll be all right.
Man: Separate cars. Keep 'em apart.
Chloe: (Scoffs)
Kevin: It's okay. It's all right.
Man: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to hire a lawyer...
Kevin: Uh-huh.
Man: Have him present during questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to you for any questioning if you so wish.
Abby: (Laughs)
Jeff: There we go.
Abby: Keep those libations coming, Sir.
Jeff: Oh, yes. Oh, y-- I can get pitchers, if you'd like.
Abby: Mm.
Woman: Yes, we'd like it.
Abby: We'd like. We'd like it very much.
Jeff: Okay, comin'--
Abby: Can we turn that music up?
Jeff: Absolutely.
Abby: Thank you. Mm.
(Music playing louder)
Abby: Mm, uh, louder.
(Music volume increases)
Abby: Louder. Louder. Lil--
(Music volume increases)
Abby: Little--I-- yeah, that's it. That's it, 'cause it is so time, so incredibly time. (Laughs) Wow!
Group: (Catcalls, cheering)
Woman: Yeah!
Abby: (Laughs)
Woman: Ow!
Abby: Tell me, do you like what you see down there?
Man: Oh, yeah.
Woman: (Laughs)
Abby: (Laughs) Then you should help me down so that you can get a closer look. Ow! (Squeals) (Giggles) Oh, my God! You're good. You didn't drop me. And you're hot. I think that you deserve a reward. You deserve a reward. Mm.
Tucker: I've seen enough. You?
Ashley: Yeah, more than enough.
Abby: Mm, uh-oh. (Laughs) Here comes the fun police.
Ashley: It's time to go.
Abby: Oh, okay. Bye-bye.
Ashley: I'm talking about you.
Abby: Oh, "Mommykins," you need to chill. You need to chill. You, too, Cowboy.
Tucker: You shut that camera down...
Abby: (Laughs)
Tucker: Or I'll sue. We haven't signed any releases.
Kent: Well, we'll just blur your faces.
Ashley: Get your purse, Abby, right now. Get your purse. We're leaving.
Abby: Okay, let me think about that. Mm, no. No, no. (Laughs)
Ashley: Abby, right now. We're driving you home.
Abby: I'm not going anywhere with you, and especially not with you, 'cause I am over 21. I'm not driving myself home. I hired a car, so T.T.Y.L.
Ashley: T.T.Y. now.
Abby: (Sighs)
Michael: The missing persons were filed, but you can't do that unless you have absolute-- hey, there he is. Kevin!
Gloria: Angel, Angel, we have been so worried.
Man: Ma'am. Ma'am, excuse me.
Kay: Handcuffs? My God, Michael.
Michael: Please, handcuffs? What the hell is this about-- handcuffs?
Gloria: Are you all right? Are you okay?
Kevin: I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm okay.
Man: Kidnapping warrant.
Gloria: That is ridiculous.
Kay: Oh, where is Jana?
Chloe: She's dead.
Kay: What?
Michael: Dead? What?
Gloria: Oh, my God.
Kay: (Stammers) I mean, what are you doing here? Wh-what do you have to do with this? What happened?
Spencer: That's what I'm here to find out.
Michael: Spencer, Kevin and Chloe are both my clients. There's no questioning of them without me being present.
Kevin: I had nothing to do with any of this.
Michael: All right, you will stay quiet.
Kevin: I wasn't an accomplice. I was in custody.
Gloria: And we know that.
Michael: What part of "Quiet" are you not understanding?
Kay: He would never be involved in a horrible crime like this.
Chloe: Okay, well, make that jerk understand it.
Michael: All right, I would like to talk to my clients in private, please, Spencer.
Spencer: One at a time.
Michael: All right.
Kevin: T-shirts--nice touch. Where's yours?
Kay: I owed you one.
Michael: All right, listen to me. Not a word.
Chloe: Okay.
Michael: Come on. This way.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Gloria: (Quietly) He only meant to the cops.
Kay: (Quietly) Now we want to hear everything.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Adam: Tell you what, Sport. If you're so upset about me livin' close by, why don't you move? I buy you out. Money's no object now that Tucker bought my Newman stock options.
Nick: What stock options? Dad disinherited you a long time ago.
Adam: If you say so. Be that as it may, Tucker paid top dollar for my options.
Nick: I'm gonna go get Faith's things.
Adam: No, you're not. I will box them up, and I will have them delivered to you. As a matter of fact, I'll deliver 'em myself. I actually miss that little girl. It'll be a nice opportunity to see her.
Nick: You won't go anywhere near my daughter. You hear me? And trust me, this is not settled.
Adam: Sharon settled it in her will. Oh, and one more thing, Nicholas. Your key.
(Key bounces off coffee table)
Nick: Damn. Spencer Walsh-- he hounded Sharon to death. Now he won't even let her rest in peace.
Sharon: I'm just not ready to face people right now.
Sam: Well, it can't be easy, you know, being that isolated.
Sharon: This is just what I need right now.
Man: Sam, you in there?
Sam: Yeah. Yeah, be out in a sec. That's a buddy of mine, Marco. He's a state cop stationed over in the next county.
Marco: Hey, Doc. What are you up to?
Sam: Not a whole heck of a lot. Yourself?
[Sharon remembering]
Marco: Oh, you know... I pulled you over because of that broken taillight, but then you became agitated like you had something to hide.
Sharon: Oh, uh, I'm just-- I'm not used to dealing with law enforcement. Or--or maybe it was that I-I-I drank too much coffee, not enough sleep.
Marco: There's some motels just up the road. Sleep deprivation's a killer.
Marco: It's great to see you.
Sam: Yeah, you, too. So what brings you out this way? You--you out here to see your mama?
Marco: Got a wedding to go to.
Sam: Yeah.
Marco: My cousin Audie.
Sam: Oh, nice, nice.
Marco: Yeah. What about you? How's the, uh, how's the sick kitty-cat business?
Sam: It's good, you know? It's busy. You still out there on the highway collecting the bad guys?
Marco: It's a livin'.
Sam: Yeah. You know what? I got somebody I want you to meet. Hey, Sheri? Sheri? Well, that's weird. She was here a minute ago. You know what? She must be in the bathroom or somethin'. You thirsty? Want a beer?
Marco: I wouldn't turn one down.
Sam: Step up to the house.
Sharon: (Sighs)
Nick: "According to Walsh, forensic experts have verified that the letters Ms. Newman wrote to her children could be read as suicide notes." You son of a--
Adam: Did you know about this?
Nick: After Walsh read the letters, he threw that theory out. I told him it was a lie and that he better not bring it up again.
Adam: We can counteract this somehow. I don't want Sharon's memory tainted by this-- this idiot's lame opinions.
Nick: None of this would have happened in the first place if Sharon hadn't been tainted by you.
(Front door slams)
Kevin: I knew that I had to get Lucy and Delia away from Jana, so I told her that we could run off together, start our own family... and I convinced her to take the girls to St. Mary's where I figured they'd be safe.
Michael: That-- that's amazing. That's amazing. I-I'm so proud of you. You know, you probably saved their lives. You know that, right?
Chloe: When my phone rang and it was Jana, I knew it was about Kevin, so I just reacted. You would have done the same thing.
Gloria: But you shouldn't have gone by yourself. You could have been killed, Chloe.
Kay: Why didn't you call us, Chloe?
Michael: She pulled a gun on you. She pulled a gun on you in the church?
Chloe: So Kevin, he knocks the gun out of Jana's hand. I mean, I couldn't let her get the gun back.
Spencer: Is that why you killed her?
Chloe: (Sighs)
Michael: She locked you in the closet?! She knew--she...
Michael: (Chuckles)
Kevin: (Sighs)
Michael: She knew what you'd been through.
Kevin: Jana said that she wanted to break me so that I would fall in love with her again.
Michael: Well, Clint could. When he did that, you... you snapped. What was different? What was different this time?
Kevin: I found a ball in the closet. I just kept throwing it at the door, kinda keeping a rhythm. I would just focus on that instead of where I was, and then Jana said the noise was giving her a headache, but I couldn't decide which was worse-- not throwing the ball and then losing focus of the one thing that was keeping me sane... or continuing to throw it, potentially ending up with a loaded gun pointed at me. (Sighs)
Michael: It's over. It's over, and you did good, Brother. You did really, really good.
Kevin: Well, what if I tell that to the cops and the D.A. and they don't believe me? Then what? (Sighs)
Abby: Seriously? I thought you just pulled me aside to lecture me.
Ashley: Well, I did, but I also thought it was important for you to know this. You are Lucy's godmother, after all.
Abby: Well, how can they just take her?
Ashley: Because there's some issue with the adoption, I guess, and so C.P.S. was called in.
Abby: What is gonna happen to that sweet little baby?
Ashley: (Sighs) I don't know.
Tucker: No one knows. This is very upsetting, so try not to give your mom a hard time, okay?
Abby: This is terrible. This is terrible. Does Daniel know? Oh, God, I-I can't even call him.
Ashley: Why not?
Abby: (Sighs) I dumped him.
Ashley: Just let me take you home, please? Please. You'll get a good night's sleep. Everything will look better tomorrow morning. Please?
Tucker: I'll get the car.
Abby: Actually... (Clicks tongue) I really don't need sleep. What I need is another drink.
Ashley: Abby, come on, please?
Tucker: Wait, wait, wait. Hang on a second. You know what? You know what? This is--your family is in a crisis right now. This is no time to be carrying on like this.
Abby: Is this a lesson in proper behavior from you? I don't think so. I don't need it.
Tucker: You don't like me? That's fine. I can live with that. But I won't have you treatin' your mother this way.
Abby: Is that your stepdaddy speech? 'Cause that--that was-- that was pretty good. So why don't you go tell that to someone who cares? Because I have had enough daddies, and I sure as hell don't need you.
Tucker: (Sighs)
Abby: See, I know that you're a cheater, because I caught you with that trash Diane. You managed to talk your way out of it, but that's only because my mom lets men walk all over her.
Ashley: Abby, Abby, that's enough. Keep your voice down, Abby.
Abby: My dad did a great job, and then there you were. There you were, "Mr. Rebound." I wonder if she'll ever learn. Probably not.
Tucker: That's enough. That's enough. Shut up! You are the worst kind of brat I've ever seen. How dare you disrespect your mother that way?
Abby: (Scoffs) We should say that to Katherine. I'm sure she would love it.
Ashley: Abby, I'm warning you. I'm not kidding.
Tucker: Well, you know what? This isn't about me. This is about you. It's about you not gettin' your way, and when "The Princess" doesn't get her way, oh, the lawsuit's are flyin', and the empires crumble.
Abby: Please, keep it coming. Keep it comin'. Come on. Please show the world what you're really made of. Come on, show us. Show us all, please.
Tucker: Okay.
Tucker: (Kicks camera across the floor)
Michael: Thank you.
Kevin: What's that?
Michael: Evidence cataloged at the scene. The police found a burner phone. That should have Jana's fingerprints and a record of the call to Chloe's cell. The gun, the handcuffs corroborate your story, and your D.N.A. and fingerprints will be all over that closet. A cause for optimism, I'd say.
Kevin: I guess I'm just having trouble feeling hopeful about any of this. I mean, I'm relieved to be free. And I'm really glad Chloe and the girls are okay. But Jana's not. (Sighs) I don't know how much that's hit me... that she's gone. I'm never gonna see her again.
Michael: You know, at one time, she was your wife. You loved her very much.
Kevin: Right. (Sighs) So why didn't I realize that something was wrong with her before it was too late? Or maybe I did, and I ignored it, because I didn't want to have to step in and try and save her. (Sighs)
Spencer: You told Detective Matthews there was a struggle between you and Jana, and now she's dead. Did you slam her head against the floor?
Kay: (Scoffs)
Spencer: Tighten your hands around her neck? You saw her with your boyfriend. You were angry, jealous. Things will go better for you if you talk to me.
Gloria: Chloe will talk to her lawyer, a brilliant lawyer who also happens to be my son.
Spencer: A woman's dead. I--
Michael: Spencer! Spencer! I warned you about talking to my clients unless I'm present.
Kay: (Sighs)
Spencer: Now you are. Shall we?
Michael: Forget it. You have no cause of death. You can't prove this is even a homicide. So my clients will make their statements, but unless you're prepared to charge them, we're goin' home.
Kevin: So before Jana took Lucy, Daniel knew that she was his kid?
Chloe: Yeah, and he was praying pretty hard that no one would find out, especially Daisy. He wanted to make sure that she didn't come back here and she couldn't trace the baby back to Billy and Victoria.
Kay: And I always said, you know, that young man has a good head on his shoulders.
Kevin: This is-- this is just--
Kay: Mind-blowing, right? Well, I wouldn't try and digest that all at once in one night.
Kevin: (Sighs) You know what? Right now, I just want to relax, spend some time with you guys.
Kay: (Sighs) Chloe? Chloe, what is it, Darling?
Chloe: Just...
Kay: Well, what?
Chloe: This whole time, I've just been thinking about Kevin and what happened to him, and what Jana was doing to him, all the horrible things that she could have been doing. And then she calls me, and I go over there, and... I walk in, and there's a gun, and then we start fighting, and then... and she just dies.
Kevin: You've been through a lot, too.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Nick: Your assistant said you'd be here. Are you enjoying your meal? Hope you had just a swell day of grandstanding in front of the press.
Spencer: Word leaked out about the letters when they started questioning Adam's release. They came to me for a statement. I wasn't gonna lie.
Nick: Well, that's just it, Spencer. You did lie. Your so-called opinion is pure speculation. I know Sharon better than anyone. I told you before. I'm gonna tell you again, Sharon did not kill herself.
Adam: When I was in New Mexico, I saw the accident report and the coroner's report, and there was nothing about suicide.
Spencer: Since the letters have come to light, the investigation has been reopened. The coroner in San Miguel county is amending his report. The consensus now is that Ms. Newman was depressed and purposely drove her car into the ravine. That will be the final word officially. We're considering the case closed.
Sam: There you are. There's somebody I'd like you to meet. This is actually our old farmhand's son. Went off and joined the highway patrol of all things.
Marco: Don't worry. This is not my jurisdiction.
Sam: Sheri Coleman, this is Marco Duran.
Marco: Pleased to know you.
Sharon: Yeah, um, you, too. We need more blankets.
Sam: Okay. You know, she's, uh, she's a bit shy.
Marco: Kind of a strange story. A lady just showin' up here, keepin' so much to herself?
Sam: Some people are just like that, you know?
Marco: For all kinds of reasons. You want me to check her out?
Kent: Who the hell do you think you are, huh? You can't just go around destroying people's property. I ought to call the police.
Jeff: I don't think that's necessary.
Kent: You bloody know how much these things cost.
Woman: This is turning out to be kind of a bummer. Maybe we should just go.
Abby: (Sighs)
Tucker: I'll tell you what, this'll cover your little camera. And as for you, I've gone out of my way trying to make peace with you. I'm tired of placating you. I care about Ashley's feelings, not yours. And if all you can be is rude and obnoxious toward her, I don't want you at our wedding.
Abby: You're really gonna let him talk to me that way?
Ashley: Given the way you're behaving, I have no choice but to agree with Tucker. Sorry.
Abby: (Sighs) I am thirsty. So, um, drinks for everyone all night on me.
Patrons: (Cheer)
Abby: Whoo!
Sam: You don't need to have her investigated for me, Marco. I mean, I appreciate you lookin' out for me, but, um, she's fine.
Marco: Okay. Let me know if you change your mind. Great to see you, Buddy.
Sam: You, too. Give my best to your parents.
Marco: Will do.
Sam: What was Sheri talkin' about? You got plenty of blankets in here.
Sharon: I saw your friend Marco leave. Hope you guys had a nice visit.
Sam: Yeah. I guess I'll, uh, see you in the morning. Hey, one of these days, you're gonna tell me what you're running from.
Sharon: (Reading) "Figures she offed herself. Sharon Newman was a coward, and that's the coward's way out." "She must have felt too guilty and ashamed to want to go on living." "My heart goes out to her family, especially her kids. Suicide is hell on all the loved ones left behind." Oh, my God. They think I killed myself?
Adam: You and your colleagues, you're guessing. That's all this is.
Nick: Making your lie official may not seem like anything to you, but if you stop and think about her children for one second, those letters that she wrote her son and her daughter, telling them how much she loved them, now they're suicide notes. I'm telling you, you couldn't have hurt 'em any worse.
Spencer: Believe me, I take no pleasure in making these kind of calls, but its part of my job. I realize this is difficult. (Sighs) But your denials won't change the facts. Experts in two states have reviewed the letters and come to the same conclusion as I did. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work.
Adam: Faith and Noah, they'll know the truth, Nicholas, because you'll tell them. Sharon--she loved life too much to commit suicide. That I am absolutely certain of.
Nick: That's the only thing you and I will ever agree on.
Michael: Kevin's home safe. (Clears throat) That's what's important.
Gloria: Mm-hmm.
Jeff: Yes, I'm very happy for you, Buttercup.
Gloria: Mm.
Jeff: But poor Jana.
Gloria: Poor Jana? My eye. After what she did to Kevin, if she weren't dead already, I'd kill her myself.
Michael: The Jana who held Kevin hostage is not the Jana we all loved. That's the woman I'll mourn.
Jeff: To Jana.
Gloria: To Kevin.
Michael: To the whole nightmare being over.
(Glasses clink)
Kevin: Oh, that was delicious.
Kay: (Chuckles) Well, obviously, you were starved.
Kevin: Yeah, the biggest meal I had over the last few days was some cereal and apple juice.
Kay: I'm so sorry you had to endure all of that.
Kevin: Well, thank you for not giving up on me, and for being here for Chloe.
Kay: Well, that's what friends do for each other, and I do consider you a very dear friend, young man.
Kevin: (Chuckles)
Kay: I wouldn't wear a t-shirt like this for just anyone.
Kevin: (Laughs)
Kay: (Laughs)
Kevin: I love you, too.
Kay: Well, it's been a very long day. I'll see you in the morning, I hope.
Kevin: Sounds good.
Kay: Uh-huh. Love you, too, young man.
Kevin: (Chuckles)
Kevin: (Sighs)
Chloe: Are you ready for something sweet? Yeah?
Kevin: Hey, there.
Chloe: Hi.
Kevin: Hi.
Chloe: Are you gonna give Kevin his cupcake?
Kevin: (Gasps)
Chloe: Look what she made for you.
Kevin: Is that for me?
Chloe: Which one? Pick one.
Kevin: Ooh, can I have that one?
Chloe: (Chuckles) Yeah.
Kevin: Thank you, Delia. Can I have a hug? Oh, thank you, sweetness. Mm! This makes me happy. You know what makes me even happier? Having you both here-- healthy, safe, and here. (Sighs)
Chloe: We're gonna get through this, Baby.
Kevin: I know. Kisses. (Sighs)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Jack: You knew what you were in for--the name, the status.
Diane: It ain't enough.
Jack: So tell Victor.
Victor: (Sighs) Don't go.
