Episode # 9600 ~ Jana is Blindsided

Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma

Leslie: You'll be giving this deposition under oath.

Adam: Yes.

Leslie: Whether that means anything to you remains to be seen. I know it means something to Sharon.

Michael: This is a relatively straightforward process. We'll be covering the same ground as the arbitration.

Leslie: Giving you the opportunity to correct any misstatements you may have made, set the record straight.

Michael: And once you have stated for the record that you rewrote-- forged your father's signature on Abby, Victoria, and Nicholas's trust documents...

Adam: (Sighs)

Michael: They will be rendered null and void, along with Ms. Michaelson's case. After that, we're done, and you can resume your regularly scheduled life.

(Clears throat)

Victor: Hello, Sharon.

Sharon: Is that all you have to say to me?

Victor: What would you have me say?

Sharon: Oh, I don't know. It's not as though you could justify what you're doing...

Victor: (Sighs)

Sharon: Blackmailing your son and using his love for me to force him to follow your orders.

Victor: He's his own man. He could have said no.

Sharon: He tried to say no. You blackmailed him.

Victor: He had various options. This is the one he chose. Now he can... get up from that table in there and walk out any time.

Sharon: I hope he does.

Victor: Yes, and I wish he had done that years ago without wreaking all that havoc amongst people I love and care about.

Sharon: Victor, you're using him as a weapon against the people who you care about. And you're letting me, someone who you used to treat as a daughter, go to prison for life for something that I didn't do

Victor: You once told me to stay out of your business. I'm now telling you to stay out of mine.

Victoria: Um... I-it--it wasn't insensitive of me, was it, um, asking you to meet me here?

Jana: Why?

Victoria: Well, I mean, you know, if you run into Kevin, and I don't, you know, want it to be awkward. It might--

Jana: (Inhales sharply) (Sighs) Oh, no.

Victoria: No?

Jana: No. No, we're still friends.

Victoria: Oh, good.

Jana: Actually even more comfortable now that we've both moved on.

Victoria: That's good. (Chuckles)

Chloe: Oh, great. It's "Nanny Dearest."

Daniel: Are you saying Jana's Lucy's nanny now?

Chloe: Oh, yeah. And Delia's, too. You'd think that Billy would want my input, right? Because it directly affects my daughter. But, no, he didn't tell me until after the fact.

Daniel: Well, it's gotta be hard not having a say when it's your own kid.

Kevin: Says the guy who was ready to hand his kid off to strangers.

Chloe: Hmm.

Kay: Oh, good. You're still here.

Jill: Now there's a phrase I don't hear from you very often.

Kay: I, uh, wanted to ask you about Lily. Do you think, um, she's up to having some guests?

Jill: You're asking for my opinion?

Kay: Well, you do have an occasional cogent thought.

Jill: Just remember you said that, okay?

Kay: I'm afraid to ask, but, uh, why?

Jill: Well, not that I have to run this by you, but I though I'd give you fair warning. I intend to have Colin move in here with me.

Kay: You--you--you cannot be serious.

Jill: (Sighs)

Kay: Uh, Jill, with him living right here under our very roof? I mean, uh, no one outside of our family is supposed to know he is here

Jill: Oh, my Lord. Colin is not outside of our family, all right? He's my husband.

Kay: But don't you understand?

Jill: (Sighs)

Kay: The more people who are aware about our "Houseguest," the bigger the chance is of it getting out there to those criminals who are about to go to trial you are putting Chance's life at risk.

Jill: You do not give me the credit of a tsetse fly! I am not talking about Colin moving in here until after Chance has testified, okay? Once it's not a secret that he's alive.

Kay: But if you're so determined to live with --

Jill: (Sighs) Well, he's my husband!

Kay: Well, can't you do it somewhere else?

Jill: No, Katherine, I can't, because this is my home, all right? And if I have to put up with Murphy and his dead fish and his "Gee, shucks" attitude, you can certainly handle my suave, sophisticated Aussie with his delicious accent. And you know what? If you can't, then you and Murphy can go back and live in his trailer. He would love that. I would love that.

Kay: No one knows who he really is. No one really knows what he is after, for heaven sakes. And you never answered me about Lily!

Lily: Cane?

Colin: Lily?

Lily: (Sighs)

Colin: You all right?

Lily: (Sighs) Hi. (Sighs) Winter can be beautiful.

Nikki: Go-- cockroach! Aah!

Deacon: What? Where? What?

Nikki: There, there, there, there.

Deacon: Okay, all right. Just stay back.

Nikki: Hurry!

Deacon: I got it. Okay. Okay, stay there. I got him.

Nikki: (Sighs)

Deacon: All right, Mr. Cockroach. Got you! Blech. Ugh.

Nikki: Thank you.

Deacon: Yeah. Oh, God.

Nikki: (Sighs)

Deacon: (Sighs) This is ridiculous. I'm sorry I... (Sighs) Got a woman like you in a dump like this.

Nikki: You know, we really-- we ought to just think about getting our own place together, at least a room at the club. What do you think?

Deacon: What are you saying, that we should live together?

Nikki: Well, it's just... sensible. We like to be together, and I think we'd like to be together even more if we were comfortable and clean.

Deacon: I just--I mean, obviously it's--I can't--

Nikki: Listen, if it's the money issue, please, don't worry about that. If you want to pitch in, pitch in. It really doesn't matter to me. Is there any other reason why you haven't already said yes?

Deacon: (sighs)

Meggie: (Sighs) Is there anything else on, maybe like "The Great Escape"?

Sharon: You only keep people around as long as they're useful to you, like Adam. You've rejected him. You've disowned him. But now that he can help you save your company, he's back in the fold, at least for the time being. What really breaks my heart is that I-I think that he actually believes that you might come through for him on this one, but why would you, when there's nothing in it for you?

Victor: Plenty of times I've come to your aid without there being anything in it for me.

Sharon: No, but see, there was something in it for you, only I didn't realize that then. You needed me. You needed all of us you needed your children. You needed Nikki, Ashley, all of the people who believed in that image of yourself that you built and you projected. You needed all those adoring eyes. But then, one by one, we saw you for who you really are-- your cruelty and your selfishness. How ironic is it that Adam is the last of us to hold out any hope that there's any decency left in you? And once you betray him, then who will you have?

Victor: You, of all people, are warning me against becoming a pariah, hmm? Fasten your seat belt, my dear. Nikki, Ashley, Victoria, Nicholas-- they loathe you now, because you have turned your back on your family.

Sharon: (Inhales sharply)

Victor: In fact, you have turned your back on your children in order to be with this murderous con man.

Sharon: But that's not true.

Victor: You bet that is true. If anyone is a fraud, it's you.

Leslie: When exactly did you forge your father's name on those trusts?

Adam: Mm... it's hard to say.

Leslie: I'll need you to be more specific.

Adam: Well, I really don't remember.

Michael: Try harder.

Leslie: I have copies of your itinerary during the period you were C.E.O. maybe that'll trigger some memories, help you pinpoint a date?

Adam: I doubt it. That whole time frame is pretty much a blur to me.

Leslie: A blur?

Adam: I don't mean it literally. My eyesight was pretty good back then... (Smacks lips) Actually. Now it is a blur somewhat, but I still have decent eyesight. I can tell that color is smashing on you.

Michael: What are you doing?

Adam: You know what? You're right. I'm so sorry. Strike that from the records. Uh, I don't need anybody sweating me down for a harassment suit on top of everything else.

Leslie: Were there any witnesses to the forgery?

Adam: Nope.

Leslie: Anyone who can corroborate your story?

Adam: Probably not.

Leslie: You must have consulted a lawyer, someone to help with the revision of the trust, the legal phrasing?

Adam: Mm-hmm. Yeah, well, it was all done online. You can pretty much find anything online nowadays, including takeout menus, and I am starved.

Michael: (Sighs)

Adam: Do--do we want to order in, Guys?

Michael: Maybe we should take a little break, allow Adam a chance to collect his thoughts.

Leslie: Better yet, we can call the whole thing off, since he clearly has no intention of conducting himself in any serious or believable way.

Michael: Five minutes.

Leslie: All right.

Adam: (Sighs)

Michael: What the hell game are you playing?

Adam: I didn't deny anything, did I?

Michael: That's not good enough. You have to be utterly convincing. You have to erase any shadow of a doubt they might have of your innocence. Do I have to explain to you what's at stake here?

Adam: Believe me, I know what's at stake.

Jill: It's all right, Esther. I'm sure you're very busy doing more important things. I'll get the door. (Whispers) Idiot. (Normal voice) Governor.

Governor: Hello, Jill. May I come in?

Jill: (Scoffs) What a surprise. Yeah.

Governor: Thank you.

Jill: Uh, so, Governor, I assume you're here to see my--

Governor: You. I, um, I heard about your loss, and I'm so terribly, terribly sorry.

Jill: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Uh, thank you. (Chuckles) Um, uh, but you didn't have to come all the way over here. I know you're a very busy man.

Governor: Why don't we have a drink, huh, sit and talk, two world-weary veterans of this life comparing battle scars, huh?

Jill: (Chuckles nervously) World-weary veterans?

Governor: (Chuckles) Let me do the honors.

Jill: Mm-hmm.

Kay: Did I hear just someone come in?

Jill: (Scoffs) You sent him over here, didn't you?

Kay: Who?

Jill: The governor, Katherine.

Kay: Your former lover? Oh, how nice! Just think...

Jill: (Sighs)

Kay: If he had known you were ready for marriage, you would have been first lady of... something or other, living in his mansion, not mine.

Jill: Ours. Ours, Katherine. And, what, do you think I'm gonna be unfaithful to my husband? How low do you think I will sink?

Kay: Don't be so hard on yourself. It's not like anyone takes this marriage of yours seriously.

Jill: I take it seriously, Katherine.

Kay: Oh.

Jill: I take it seriously, and so will you take it seriously if I have to marry Colin in that living room every damn day or a year!

Kay: (Laughs)

Governor: Katherine, hello. Join us?

Kay: Uh, no. No, thank you very much. I have, uh, some business calls to make, but, um, by all means, the two of you, just enjoy yourselves.

Governor: (Chuckles)

Kay: Nice seeing you.

Colin: Chamomile, right?

Lily: Yes, thank you. I promise not to fall apart on you again.

Colin: I wouldn't worry about that. I mean, you don't have to talk about whatever you're going through. But, uh, I'm a good listener. And, yeah, I know I'm not your father, and Jill--well, she's not--

Lily: Yeah, well, I've burdened them too much already.

Colin: Maybe they don't see it that way.

Lily: Well, I know I'm not the only one who lost Cane, you know, and who's suffering.

Colin: No, you're not.

Lily: I just-- I don't want to burden them with my grief, you know, when they have their own to worry about.

Colin: Look, I-I-I'm a big boy. I figure I can handle anything that you can dish out.

Lily: (Sighs) I don't know. I just... I just feel really... overwhelmed. You know, it's just hard to get up and... go through the motions every day. And I try to forget, you know, for small periods of time... but it doesn't last very long, because then something will just remind me of Cane, you know, just little things that he always took care of-- you know, like, bills will come in the mail that are always paid, or Humphrey will want to go for a walk, you know, when it's dark and cold outside. And then there are other things... bigger things that I was counting on him for... like taking care of the twins if I'm not around.

Jana: Let's move you over to here.

Chloe: I know. Who would have guessed? Billy and Victoria had to go and hire "Scary Poppins"...

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Chloe: And she's living in the apartment above the garage.

Daniel: Well, you gotta be happy that she's out of Kevin's apartment.

Chloe: I will be happy when she stops looking at him like a walking carton of rocky road.

Daniel: Kevin said that she moved on.

Chloe: No.

Kevin: (Groans) Here. You dropped this.

Jana: Oh. I didn't realize. Thank you.

Kevin: How's the new gig?

Jana: It's great. Yeah, it's exactly what I needed, a fresh new start.

Daniel: No?

Chloe: No. It's an act.

Kevin: You want to see me, you come to Gloworm. That's where we do business.

Angelo: While Hogan's away, I'm the boss. I decide where we do business.

Kevin: I don't want this place involved.

Angelo: Here's the thing-- if you can't motivate Jeff to cough up the money he owes, then this place, your family, your friends, the pretty girls, they're all gonna be involved.

Leslie: All right, Adam... (Sighs) What is it you want us to know?

Adam: I did it. I changed the trust funds of my siblings in their favor. I forged my father's signature on all three documents. It's exactly as I said to the judge.

Leslie: So the memories aren't blurry anymore?

Adam: Oh you think I like doing this? You're someone sitting across the table from me who's generally seen me in pretty humbling circumstances. It might surprise you to know I was pretty impressive once-- Victor Adam Wilson the smartest kid in the room. A lot of people had a lot of high expectations of me.

Leslie: Sharon still does.

Adam: Sharon... sees the kind of man that she wants me to be. My father... sees what I really am, just another arrogant punk who tried to take on Victor Newman and win. Not so smart after all, huh?

Leslie: What does he have on you, Adam? How is he forcing your hand?

Michael: For crying out loud. Strike that, please.

Leslie: He's obviously lying.

Michael: And your opinion's not biased at all by the fact that you stand to lose millions of dollars when this case is thrown out?

Leslie: Judge Phelps won't buy it, either.

Michael: There's not a shred of evidence to contradict Adam's sworn testimony.

Adam: I need some air.

Michael: Fine. We're done here.

Sharon: What happened?

Victor: Thank you for doing the right thing, Son.

Adam: I hope I did you proud, Dad.

Victor: As long as you tell the truth, I'm proud of you. What do you think the judge will think of this deposition?

Michael: It's hard to say. He was a bit dodgy in the beginning. He made up for it at the end, though a bit over the top for my taste. We'll just have to wait and see.

Victor: Well, that doesn't sound too comforting. The future of my company is on the line.

Michael: Victor, I wish I could express more confidence, but frankly, at the moment, I'm just relieved that Adam didn't turn on you outright and, believe me, don't doubt that it didn't cross his mind. All right, I gotta go.

Victor: All right.

Michael: I'll be in touch.

Victor: Thank you.

Victor: (Sighs)

Adam: Michael fill you in on my stellar performance?

Victor: (Sighs) It entirely depends on how convincing you were.

Adam: I said everything what you wanted me to say. Now you can keep your part of this bargain.

Victor: His reviews weren't too good, you know?

Adam: I certainly hope you're not thinking about playing me for a fool.

Sharon: It's amazing how the people with the least amount of integrity are the first to question everyone else's.

Victor: Good job, Son.

Nikki: Katherine, I have so enjoyed staying with you and Murphy. It's just--I don't know. The time is right for me to do something like this for myself.

Kay: Well, of course I understand.

Nikki: I'll be by in a little while to pick up my things.

Deacon: (Whispering) Oh, hey. Listen, we better take the minibar key away.

Nikki: (Whispering) I already did.

Kay: Who are you talking to? Oh, tell me that was not who I thought it was.

Nikki: (Normal voice) Katherine, stop.

Kay: Oh, Darling, no. No, no, no. Don't you learn from your mistakes? Why? Why on God's green earth would you do this?

Nikki: Can we talk about this when I see you, please? (Groans)

Deacon: (Normal voice) Honey, I think you better expect a lot more of that.

Nikki: Well, you know people are just gonna have to get over it. They have a lot more important things to do than worry about the fact that you and I are living together.

Victoria: You're... what?

Nikki: Um...

Victoria: What-- what do you think you're doing? Why can't you just leave her alone?

Nikki: Deacon, just give-- give me a minute here, okay?

Deacon: Yeah, no, absolutely. Um, I'll tell you what-- I'm gonna go over and get your stuff from Katherine's.

Nikki: I don't think that's a good idea.

Victoria: Oh! God!

Deacon: No, trust me, it's gonna be good. Victoria, I'm sorry, all right, about everything, but--

Victoria: No. Uh, no. (Sighs)

Deacon: Okay, I'm sorry.

Nikki: Honey...

Victoria: What is this?! You can't have the man you love, so now you're gonna ruin your life?

Colin: I understood that your cancer is in remission.

Lily: Yeah, I-I feel fine. I'm not--I'm not expecting the worst, you know? It's just that these thoughts will just pop into my head.

Colin: And I guess, at this point, you understand better than anyone how quickly the unthinkable can happen. But look... (Laughs) I want you to know that the twins will never want for anything. I mean, they're surrounded by loving family.

Lily: Yeah. Um, I-I know that they have my dad and my Uncle Malcolm and Devon to take care of them.

Colin: I'd also like you to include Jill and myself in that group. I mean, if... heaven forbid, anything were to happen, we--we'd look after these children like they were our own, I mean, in... Cane's memory, of course.

Lily: Thank you. That is very nice of you.

Colin: And speaking of Jill, she's probably wondering where I am.

Lily: Oh, yes, of course. Uh, well, thank you for, uh, the tea and the--the sympathy.

Colin: Any time. Take care.

Lily: (Sighs) (Whispering) How you doing? Hmm? Some lunch, hmm?

Daniel: Hey.

(Object crashes on floor)

Lily: Gosh. (Chuckles)

Daniel: I'm sorry.

Lily: No, it's-- it's not your fault. (Sighs) I just--I-- I'm still seeing things and hearing things and... (Sighs)

Daniel: Yeah?

Lily: Yeah. You should have been here earlier. You could have watched me chase down this poor unsuspecting man that I thought was Cane. It's just... (Sighs) You know, it's still happening. And the scary part is that... I don't think I want it to stop.

Adam: You know, it won't make much sense to you. I've done, uh... much worse things. But no one knew. Do you know what I mean? Nobody knew. I wasn't forced to face the shamefulness of it all, unless I thought about my mother, which I tried... very hard never to do. And now there's you. And I can't help but think what you must see when you look at me.

Sharon: You did this for me. You did this out of love. I-I-I didn't want you to, because I didn't want you to make that sacrifice, but the only person here who--who should be ashamed of himself is Victor. He's going to save his company, but that's about all he'll have. He's running everyone away from him, everyone who ever cared about him, and you know what? We're all better off without him.

Nikki: I didn't enter into this relationship with Deacon impulsively.

Victoria: Oh, relationship? I can't believe this.

Nikki: He's been very helpful.

Victoria: (Sighs) Yes.

Nikki: He is so... uh--he understands he's very compassionate.

Victoria: Right. Yes. The whole A.A. thing. I get it.

Nikki: Yeah. Yes. He--he--he gets what I'm going through.

Victoria: (Sighs) Well, so does Katherine. So do a lot of people who aren't complete slime balls. Mom, are you lonely? Is that what it is? If you're lonely, you can come live with me and Billy.

Nikki: Victoria--

Victoria: It'll be great. You can spend more time with Lucy.

Nikki: There is no need for you to be so alarmed by this. Deacon is not the same man he was when he caused you all those problems.

Victoria: Whatever satisfaction you're getting out of making Dad crazy, it's not gonna be worth what Deacon put you through, and don't try to tell me that he's reformed and that he's not gonna hurt you, because it's only a mater of time.

Kay: Well, I certainly did not expect you to respond to my message personally.

Victor: Tell me about your confrontation with Meggie.

Kay: (Scoffs) Victor, I swear to God, there was not an ounce of repentance, not an ounce and--and after all the misery she has put Murphy and his family through, she keeps goading him, goading him on.

Victor: I hope you let her have it.

Kay: Well, I don't know if anything got through to her, but, uh... (Whispering) I felt a lot better.

Victor: (Chuckles)

(Doorbell rings)

Kay: (Normal voice) Oh, excuse me.

Victor: Sure.

Deacon: I. I'm, uh, here to pick up Nikki's things.

Kay: (Sighs)

Victor: What is this about?

Kay: Uh, well, she's moving out, Victor. That's what I wanted to talk to you about. She's taken a suite at the Athletic Club.

Victor: I have to go somewhere. Nice to see you.

Kay: Mm-hmm. No, don't even think about it.

Deacon: Look, the last thing she needs is that guy going and giving her a bunch of grief.

Kay: And you have to understand you are no match for Victor Newman in any respect.

Deacon: (Sighs)

Kay: And you're certainly not worthy of Nikki.

Deacon: (Scoffs) Well, you got me there. You're right. (Chuckles)

(Cell phone rings)

Kay: Go ahead. Answer that.

Deacon: Oh. Um...

Kay: Farther down the drive.

Deacon: Yeah, you know what? Uh, actually, I think if it's all the same to you, I'd like to get Nikki's things.

Kay: And I'm not ready to give them to you.

(Ring)

Deacon: What.

Meggie: Are you coming up with ways of breaking me out of here?

Deacon: Oh, no, yeah, sure. I'm actually, uh, it's the top of my list, Meggie.

Meggie: It should be, for Nikki's sake. She's at a very fragile stage of her recovery. Think what it would do if she learned that you and I were thick as thieves. (Chuckles) Might drive her straight back to the bottle.

Deacon: (Sighs)

Lily: Okay, so why don't you distract her? What's going on with your situation?

Daniel: She's in the other room.

Lily: Lucy? Right now?

Daniel: Oh, yeah, and my girlfriend just decided to be her godmother.

Lily: Wow. Okay. (Chuckles) That's really weird.

Daniel: Well, weird has become pretty much a permanent state of being.

Lily: So it's not just me, huh?

Daniel: (Laughs) No, definitely not just you.

Victoria: Hi. Sorry. I didn't mean to keep you waiting. (Laughs)

Jana: Oh, that's all right.

Victoria: Uh, but I still can't take her yet, because Billy just called and needs for me to meet up with him.

Jana: Okay. Well, we--we can just wait for you at home then.

Victoria: Okay, thank you.

Jana: All right? Yeah.

Victoria: And thank you for being too little to know how crazy your family is.

Jana: (Laughs)

Victoria: Okay, so I'll see you guys.

Jana: Okay.

(Cell phone rings)

Victoria: Oh. Hello?

Michael: It's Michael. I wanted to let you know the deposition's over.

Victoria: (Sighs) How did it go? Someone told me that, uh, Adam decided to take back his whole confession.

Michael: Your source was misinformed. Adam didn't recant a thing.

Angelo: (Sighs)

Angelo: Catch ya later.

Chloe: Who is that guy?

Kevin: He's filling in for Hogan.

Chloe: He's a mobster?

Kevin: Shh, shh, shh!

Chloe: Well, are they still planning on burning down Gloworm if they don't get their money?

Kevin: No. No, now they've moved on to threatening everyone I care about, especially "The pretty girls."

Chloe: I'm pretty.

Governor: Let me take you out to dinner.

Jill: Oh, I can't go out to dinner with you, Governor.

Governor: (Sighs)

Jill: No, I have plans with my husband.

Governor: No need to keep up the pretense with me. I know you only married the Aussie to, uh, help him get his green card.

Jill: What?!

Governor: Don't worry.

Jill: Katherine tell you that?

Governor: Don't worry. I won't turn you in, unless... you turn me down.

Jill: What?!

Governor: You're not going to turn me down, are you, Jill?

Jill: Katherine! Good go! Katherine, get your carcass down here right now!

(Door closes)

Jill: Do you hear me? Do not keep me waiting, Katherine. Come now!

Colin: What's going on?

Jill: She sent him over here. She's matchmaking. (Sighs)

Colin: Oh.

Jill: (Sighs)

Colin: You shouldn't have.

Kay: (Clears throat)

Colin: But, you know, I'm glad you did. Well, then, hey. Aren't you the cupcake now? So what do you do for a living, hey, or is this what you do for a living?

Governor: I'm the governor.

Colin: Ooh! Well, then, I guess we're gonna keep this one discreet, huh?

Jill: Oh, I think maybe they want to be alone. Come on.

Colin: Indeed. Kat--always looking out for me. He's perfect.

Jill: (Laughs)

Governor: What the hell is going on?!

Kay: Uh, I have to apologize. Uh...

Jill: (Laughs)

Kay: They seem to be playing a joke at our expense. It--I call it the height of immaturity.

Jill: (Laughs) Do you?

Kay: Yes. Please, uh, let me show you out.

Jill: (Laughing)

Colin: Uh, leaving so soon? Was it something I said?

Jill: Oh, and you make such a cute couple.

Colin: A couple of what?

Jill: (Laughs) (Sighs) Mwah!

Colin: Mm.

Jill: (Clears throat)

Kay: What in the hell were you thinking?!

Jill: (Laughs)

Adam: I'm gonna go for a walk.

Sharon: Okay, but wait. Before you do, um, I have something for you. Sit down. Do you recognize it? It's like the one in New Orleans. When I saw you standing there at the feet of angels, I can't tell you the significance of that moment for me. I had my answer after questioning for so long. That was a turning point for us, when everything changed. What happened today was no turning point. It may have been depressing and unfortunate, but it in no way defines you or us or our future.

Sharon: So we're just gonna let go of it. Let's let it go.

Woman: You have a visitor.

Meggie: Victor. Look at you-- so handsome. No wonder I fell for you so quick.

Victor: I'm gonna make sure that you'll be consigned to a dark and lonely hole for the rest of your miserable existence.

Nikki: I could have told you Victor wouldn't have bothered to interfere with us, because we are... (Deep voice) Beneath contempt.

Deacon: (Laughs) What about Victoria? Was she petty hard on you?

Nikki: (Normal voice) Eh, she'll well-intentioned.

Deacon: (Clicks tongue) I don't know. You know, Nikk, I mean, this just doesn't feel right. I just--I feel like you need your friends and your family right now.

Nikki: Well, yes, I do, but--

Deacon: Hey, I mean, if you want me to stay in the motel, I-I will. I understand, really.

Nikki: What I want is for us to go upstairs and settle into our new home, okay?

(Cell phone rings)

Deacon: (Sighs)

Kay: Have you no respect?

Jill: For that old lech? No. He tried to blackmail me, Katherine.

Colin: Well, after a few drinks, he might actually be quite cute.

Jill: (Chuckling)

Jill: Oh. Thank God you showed up when you did.

Colin: Well, I might have got here a bit sooner, but I ran into Lily and the kids, and she's... a little emotional about Cane, and, you know...

Jill: It's so sweet of you to reach out to her this way.

Colin: I don't know whether it helped a whole lot, but I did say that you and I would step up our activity regarding the children I mean, you know, in--in his memory, of course.

Chloe: Okay, I don't think you have anything to worry about, because Hogan never followed through with any of this threats, right?

Kevin: There was that black eye he gave Jeff.

Chloe: Okay, well, a black eye? That's nothing. I mean, I think that your bookie was bluffing, and I think that this guy is, too.

Kevin: You think so?

Chloe: Yeah. That's what they all do. On the bright side, at least he thinks I'm pretty. (Giggles)

Kevin: (Sighs)

Jana: Well, thank you for your cooperation today, Miss Lucy. Did you see how impressed Kevin was with the two of us, hmm? Smooth move dropping your blankie like that. Where is your blankie?

Jana: (Screaming)

Next on "The Young and the Restless"

Neil: I was working at Newman when you cooked up this trust scam. You didn't have access to Victor's private files.

Billy: Then tell Kevin to cut ties with his gambling pals, or I'm gonna take Delia away. It's that simple.
