Episode # 9599 ~ Victor Threatens to Expose Adam
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Victor: My family has not shattered, and Newman Enterprises is not for sale, and my company is as strong as ever.
Tom: Has the lawsuit affected your relationship with your children?
Victor: Mr. Cassidy, for your information, and for everyone else's information, I love my family, and I love my children. You can quote me on that. Thank you very much for the interview.
Woman: Please call me if you have further questions.
Victor: Anyone else?
Woman: Billy Abbott is hanging around. He heard about the interviews and insisted he be included.
Victor: Oh, I bet he does. Send him in.
Billy: Hello.
Victor: Hello, Billy Abbott. Are you still using my name to sell your rag?
Billy: Well, when Victor Newman speaks, magazine sells. So is this your official concession speech or what?
Victor: Perhaps you haven't heard, but rumors of my company's demise are greatly exaggerated.
Sharon: Adam? Adam, are you in there?
Adam: Hey.
Sharon: There you are. I don't like waking up without you.
Adam: I couldn't sleep last night. I didn't want to wake you up with all that, uh, tossing and turning, so I-I came down here, and I went out for a jog. I wanted to sort some things out that we talked about last night.
Sharon: Did you? Did you sort 'em out?
Adam: You know, I mean, I... I'm trying to be a man that you can be proud of, but, Sharon, I will go to any lengths to make sure we get rid of this murder charge.
Sharon: Yes, but--
Adam: But it doesn't-- it doesn't mean that I have to lie on my father's behalf. There are other ways, yes. So I'm gonna go in there, and I'm gonna tell my dad deal's off.
Nina: Got it?
Chance: (Sighs)
Nina: I saw Nate in the hallway. He is very pleased with your recovery.
Chance: (Grunts)
Nina: He said you're ahead of schedule.
Chance: (Sighs)
Nina: Do you remember your first day of fourth grade?
Chance: (Chuckles) Does anybody?
Nina: Yeah, well, I remember yours. You were so excited, because you just got a brand-new pair of the coolest shoes, and you went to school, and one of your classmates, his parents couldn't afford new shoes. He was wearing hand-me-downs, and you came home, and you wanted to give that little boy your shoes. (Chuckles) It's just the way you are, Chance. You've always been that way.
Chance: But where has it gotten me, Mom? Half a liver later...
Nina: It's gotten you home.
Chance: (Sighs)
Nina: And that thrills me to no end. (Sighs)
Chance: (Sighs)
(Doorbell rings)
Murphy: Have you, uh, heard from Nikki?
Kay: Uh, yes, I, um, I received a text telling me not to worry.
Murphy: Yeah, well, looks like you really took her words to heart.
Kay: Well, I know who she spent the night with, for God's sake. I mean, the companion she's with is not exactly the right choice for her.
Murphy: Ahh!
Kay: Victoria, Darling.
Victoria: Hey. Hi. Hi, Katherine. Mwah. Hi, Murphy.
Murphy: Hi, you want some coffee?
Victoria: Uh, no, I'm good. Uh, is Mom around?
Kay: Uh, is mom around? No, as a matter of fact, she left before we woke up. Uh, God only knows what she's up to by now.
Deacon: Hey.
Nikki: (Sighs) Hi. Mm, did you sleep well?
Deacon: (Laughs) Yeah, once you finally let me get some sleep.
Nikki: (Giggles)
Deacon: (Chuckles)
Nikki: Sorry about that.
Deacon: Yeah.
Nikki: (Sighs) God, I don't know why everybody thinks we are so wrong together. But I don't.
Deacon: Mm-hmm? Tell me.
Nikki: I think you give me...
Deacon: (Sighs)
Nikki: I don't know, a certain steadiness that I haven't had in my life in a long, long time. And you make me happy. And... (Sighs) I just wish that my family knew that.
Deacon: (Chuckles) Yeah, well, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Nikki: No, I know. They don't see what I see. They just don't understand that having a drama-free, honest relationship is a lot better than all of this infighting and backstabbing and just money-grubbing turmoil. I...
Deacon: You know, Darlin', people with the most toys aren't always the happiest.
Nikki: (Laughs)
Deacon: You're in the Silver Star Motel. What you see is what you get.
Nikki: Oh, yeah, I do like what I see.
Deacon: Oh, really?
Nikki: And I love what I get.
Deacon: Mm.
Victor: That's when Adam came forward to atone for his deceit.
Billy: Adam is about as trustworthy as, well, your boss.
Victor: Adam has a litany of crimes to his name. Why do you think he would be incapable of forging documents?
Billy: I don't. I just know what you're capable of. I mean, really, come on, Man. How can you treat your kids this way?
Victor: I love my children. I don't want this to be happening.
Billy: There is a quote. That is a very good quote. I bet all the reporters that you paraded through here just ate that up with a spoon, right?
Victor: This interview is over.
Billy: Okay. No, sorry. I-I understand. I'm just not buyin' what you're sellin' because I know the man with the heartwarming platitudes has really just got an ice-cold heart, and well, your act-- it's not that good.
Victor: I have news for you. The people who read your rag and your stories certainly don't think they're based on real sources. You have a good day, all right?
Billy: (Laughs)
Billy: Hmm.
Victor: Come in, Son.
Victor: (Sighs) We need to prepare for this afternoon's deposition, all right?
Adam: (Sighs)
Kay: Oh, I, um... I just left a message for Nikki letting her know what I told Victoria. (Laughs) I-I feel like I'm back in boarding school covering for my best friend who's somewhere being naughty with her boyfriend.
Murphy: (Chuckles)
Kay: Still, it is not my place to drop a bombshell like that on Victoria.
Spencer: Uh, sorry to interrupt. Uh, Esther let me in on her way out.
Kay: Oh, oh, please. Please, come in. Come in.
Murphy: Hi, Mr. Walsh. Are you here to see our, uh, special houseguest?
Spencer: I am. But first I'd like to fill you in on the latest with Meggie McClaine.
Murphy: Meggie?
Spencer: Yeah, we'll have a trial date soon, so I'll need to prep you for the trial.
Kay: Uh, um, uh, thank you so much. Oh, yes, we appreciate that. Uh, you know what room Chance is in.
Spencer: I do.
Kay: Thank you. Thank you.
Murphy: Uh... you want to tell me with the district attorney is talking about Meggie like she's here in town?
Kay: Because she is here, and she is locked up in the Genoa City jail.
Murphy: How did that happen?
Kay: Well, the judge had to throw out a lot of evidence based on a technicality, so... (Clears throat) Meggie was extradited from Alaska shortly after.
Murphy: When did that happen?
Kay: Does it matter?
Murphy: When, Katherine?
Kay: A week ago. I didn't tell you, Murphy, because I--Darling, I didn't want to upset you.
Murphy: Look, this is not like, uh, Nikki and Victoria. I'm not some friend that you need to protect. I'm your husband, and it was your place to tell me.
Nina: Mr. Walsh.
Spencer: Chance.
Chance: Hey.
Spencer: You look well.
Chance: Well, I'm getting stronger every day.
Spencer: That's what I wanted to hear. Jury selection for the trial is starting this morning. We should begin opening statements-- could begin as soon as tomorrow or the next day.
Nina: What does that mean for Chance?
Nikki: (Giggles) I-I will personally buy a new shower curtain.
Deacon: Yeah, see, that's very considerate of you since I was the one that slipped coming out of the tub, so...
Nikki: Oh, please. Admit it. You were just showing off, trying to impress me with your acrobatics.
Deacon: Yeah. Did it work?
Nikki: It always does. Mm. Mm, wait just a minute. I just want to check. I don't want to be late.
Deacon: You know, Nikk, it occurs to me that there's a later meeting at St. Elmo's, uh, this afternoon if you want to soap up with me again.
Nikki: Mm, that does sound very tempting. Hold on just a second. (Gasps) It was Victoria.
Deacon: (Sighs)
Nikki: All right, um...
Nikki: (Clears throat) Good morning.
Victoria: Uh, hi, Mom. Uh, where are you?
Nikki: I am getting ready to go to an A.A. meeting.
Victoria: Oh, good. That's good. Uh, I won't keep you. Would you, uh, just, uh, call me-- call me after you're done, okay?
Nikki: Well, now wait a minute. I-is everything all right with Lucy? You need to talk?
Victoria: It's--its dad. He--he pulled something at the arbitration yesterday. And you know what? It's fine. It's not a big deal. Just, um, maybe we can meet up after your meeting and--and we can talk then. Okay?
Nikki: Victoria... (Sighs) I-I can always go to a later meeting, you know? I--
Victoria: No, Mom. (Sighs) I'm fine. Go.
Nikki: No, now stop this. Stop worrying. I'm not gonna jeopardize my sobriety by going to a later meeting. Just tell me where you are and I'll head on over there.
Meggie: Tryin' to read here. Aw, look who's standing upright. Oops, still can't talk? Well, that's okay. I have loads of time, if you want to tap out a message on the bars.
Murphy: I'm enjoying the view.
Meggie: Well, I guess so. I'm ten times easier on the eyes than that old bag you're married to.
Murphy: Well, it's been a long time coming-- you rotting behind bars.
Meggie: (Chuckles) This is only temporary. I'll be outta here before you can swallow another nitro pill.
Kay: I wouldn't count on it. This old bag is gonna make sure that you spend the rest of your life in jail.
Deacon: I got involved with this woman. (Scoffs) This incredible woman. But, see, I did it for all the wrong reasons. I didn't... I didn't go into it with the best intentions. And damned if somehow along the way I didn't wind up fallin' for her... hard. I thought about tellin' her the truth, but, um, you know, I just--I-I know what that would do to her. Life's thrown her some nasty curveballs, and I don't want to be another one of them, but... (Sighs) You see, if I'm-- if I'm honest with her, I'm gonna wind up losing her. And if I don't say anything, then I'm not the man that she thinks I am. And it's tearin' me up.
Nikki: Victor is aware of every I that's dotted and every T that's crossed at that company.
Victoria: I know that.
Nikki: He would have been aware of this long ago if those documents had been forged.
Victoria: When Nick joined this lawsuit, I think we backed Dad into a corner, and he's come out swinging, Mom.
Nikki: Why would he use Adam of all people? (Stammers) And why would Adam want to help Victor?
Victoria: Love. Love makes us do crazy things.
Nikki: So you think this has something to do with Sharon?
Victoria: (Sighs) Mom, who's the one person that we know powerful enough to step in and help her?
Nikki: Heaven only knows. Most of Sharon's misery is of her own making, and I have never understood the hold she has over Nicholas. But she is the mother of my grandchildren, and they need their mother.
Victoria: (Sighs)
Nikki: For Victor to bargain with her freedom is reprehensible. I'm gonna make sure that he knows that.
Victoria: Oh, Mom--
Nikki: Don't worry.
Victoria: Really?
Nikki: Talk to you later.
Victor: Kindly familiarize yourself with these before the deposition, all right?
Adam: Don't need to.
Victor: Really?
Adam: Yeah, I don't plan on perjuring myself.
Victor: You're turning your back on Sharon?
Adam: Never. But you already have. There's a hundred reasons that you should help Sharon out, the least of which the fact that she's innocent. But you would never do anything out of the kindness of your heart, would you? You gotta play those Victor games. Gotta show people how big and powerful you are. Well... (Knocks on desk) Don't worry. I'm gonna help Sharon out one way or the other. We'll take care of it.
Victor: By insinuating that Skye Lockhart is alive you mean?
Sharon: Thank you.
Victoria: (Sighs)
Sharon: Hi, Victoria. How's Lucy?
Victoria: You know what, Sharon? I'm really not much in the mood for chitchat. Did you happen to talk to Adam about recanting his confession by any chance?
Sharon: We did talk about it last night.
Victoria: And?
Sharon: I think you should have a little more faith in your brother.
Victoria: (Sighs) Well, you see, I'm not really like you, because I couldn't have faith in a man who stole my child, let alone share a bed with him. Once a liar, always a liar, right? Which his admission in arbitration pretty much proved yesterday.
Sharon: You don't know Adam like I do.
Victoria: No, you think you know him, but, uh, you're in for a rude awakening when the truth comes out.
Billy: Hello, beautiful.
Victoria: Hi.
Billy: Why the scrunchy face?
Victoria: Oh, I just had to listen to Sharon defend Adam again for the umpteenth time. It's like she lives in some bizarro universe where Adam's on the short list for sainthood or something. (Sighs)
Billy: Well, speaking of bizarro, I just left your dad's office.
Victoria: Why?
Billy: He decided to, uh, grant a few select interviews, and I decided I was going to crash the press party.
Victoria: Well, I don't see any battle scars.
Billy: Well, Victor wasn't Victor for this interview. He was the hurt father. Hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt. Let me see if I can remember his exact words. (Imitating victor) "I love my children. I don't want this to be happening." (Laughs)
Victoria: Did you bring a shovel?
Billy: (Normal voice) I should have.
Victoria: Hmm.
Billy: But wait, there's more. When I was leaving the office, guess who I saw slithering in trying not to be noticed. Your little brother Adam.
Victor: On February 9th, you rented post-office box 7736 in Paris under one of Skye's aliases, Grace Harwood. That day, an internet order was placed for Skye's favorite perfume, Galibier, to be delivered to the same P.O. Box. On Valentine’s Day, you ordered a pair of $2,000 shoes. Wow, $2,000. The money came from Skye's account. Do I need to continue?
Adam: No.
Victor: Do you think it would help Sharon's case if this information became public? I think it would make her look guilty as sin, don't you?
Adam: She had no knowledge of this. I will take the stand and take full responsibility.
Victor: Then you would face obstruction of justice charges, and she will still go on trial. If you go along as I want you to, then, uh, she'd go free. Why don't you study these before your deposition?
Adam: Hello, Nikki.
Nikki: Good-bye, Adam. I'll get right to the point. You've done a lot of vile things over the years, Victor, but forming an alliance with Adam against your other children? You can't justify that.
Murphy: Your days are numbered, Meggie. Two of your victims survived to testify against you.
Kay: And I've put my considerable resources-- and I'm sure a vagrant like yourself knows exactly how considerable they are-- at his disposal.
Murphy: You know, you tryin' to kill me was the best thing that could have happened. Finally, I got the opportunity to have justice for my son. I think he's looking down now smiling, knowing that you are gonna spend the rest of your life at Walworth state. Come on. Let's get out of here.
Meggie: Guard? Guard, I need to make a phone call now.
Spencer: Your arrival's gonna cause quite a commotion. But I've taken ever precaution to ensure your safety.
Chance: What about Ronan? He knows I'm here. He knows I'm the star witness.
Nina: You think Ronan would tell someone about you?
Chance: He up and vanished for the second time in his entire life. Anything's possible.
Spencer: He's not classified as a threat by the bureau or the justice department.
Chance: That's good.
Nina: (Sighs) I can't believe this is almost over. The bad guys are gonna be in prison, and you're gonna be free. No more hiding.
Chance: Mom, I'm gettin' kind of thirsty. Um, would you mind running downstairs and getting me some more orange juice?
Nina: Not at all. Not at all.
Chance: Okay. Mr. Walsh, would you care for anything?
Spencer: I could go for a cup of coffee.
Nina: Comin' right up.
Chance: Great.
Nina: Be right back.
Spencer: Why are you lying to your mother?
Chance: (Sighs) I am not lying.
Spencer: You're saying you might not go back into protection?
Chance: (Chuckles) Witness protection? Y'all might as well call it "Solitary confinement." All alone in some city that I don't know a single person with some stupid identity that you guys give me. What the hell kind of life is that?
Spencer: At least you're alive. Chance, I believe that your testimony will put those corrupt cops in jail for a long time. But there are others inside Owen's organization that we don't know about. And they'd all be gunning for a guy who put their friends behind bars.
Chance: You are basing my future on a supposition. Until you can show some concrete evidence that my life is still under threat--
Spencer: So you wind up with a real bullet in your heart while I'm out looking for proof. You can't take that chance.
Chance: I can take that chance. I have been taking that chance.
Spencer: Look at your friend Cane. Look at your friend Cane. He knew people were gunning for him, and--and he still couldn't protect himself. You leave yourself open to an unknown threat, and you'll never survive.
Deacon: I don't respond real well to threats, Meggie.
Meggie: It wasn't a threat, Sugar. Nikki was the next person I was gonna call if you didn't show.
Deacon: I didn't come down here to talk about her. I came down here for one reason-- to tell you to back off.
Meggie: Mm, so you're not still sniffin' around our pretty little mark, hmm?
Deacon: Look, Nikki's moved on, and so have I.
Meggie: Uh-huh. Right. Right. Hmm. "Nikki Newman, fresh off her latest broken engagement"...
Deacon: (Sighs)
Meggie: "With billionaire ex Victor cutting a rug with a most unlikely consolation prize, Gloworm bartender Deacon Sharpe." Huh.
Deacon: I'm a friend. I helped her get sober.
Meggie: No, no. You're a louse who helped her get back on the sauce, not to mention you were helping me break up her engagement. Now if she knew all that, I'm sure we'd be back to being pals-- prison pen pals.
Nikki: What is it going to take to get through to you? I've spoken to you. I've begged you. I've done everything I can think of, and you will not let this go. And it scares the life out of me, Victor. I worry about you. I worry about the kids. Now I know all these years, you have always prevailed. The whole family has, actually.
Victor: Okay, enough. Enough, enough. I've heard it all.
Nikki: Yes, you have.
Victor: It is your children, Nicholas and Victoria, that turned against me, that took this fight to the next level. Now let's see how well they get along without their daddy.
Sharon: So how did Victor react when you told him you were gonna go back on your confession?
Adam: I can't.
Sharon: You can't what? You can't talk about it?
Adam: I can't take it back. I'm gonna have to lie on my father's behalf.
Sharon: Wait. I don't understand. I mean, you told me that you were going to take this back, no matter what the consequences were. You said that this morning. What's changed between then and now?
Adam: Sit down, Sharon.
Sharon: Adam, you're scaring me. Just tell me what happened.
Adam: My father found out that I was doing something-- something that I thought would help you out.
Sharon: Okay, what was it?
Adam: I was creating a false trail that would suggest that Skye is still alive.
Sharon: What?! How?
Adam: I tapped into an account of hers, and I got a P.O. Box in Paris, and I ordered her perfume and a few other items, and I had it delivered there.
Sharon: Oh, Adam, what were you thinking?
Adam: Sharon, she's... she's faked her death before. Who's to say she wouldn't have done it again? All I was doing was raising reasonable doubt.
Sharon: How could you do this without telling me about it?
Adam: (Sighs)
Sharon: If this comes out, do you know how this is going to look? If the D.A. finds out about this, I am screwed.
Victoria: By tomorrow morning, Dad's spin on this lawsuit is gonna go global, and we are gonna look like spoiled children out for our father's fortune. (Sighs)
Billy: (Clears throat)
Victoria: I heard about your interviews, how you love your children.
Victor: I do.
Victoria: Well, then prove it. Admit your collusion with Adam.
Victor: I don't know what you're talking about.
Victoria: After everything that he's done to you, how can you even stand to have him sit next to you in that room?
Victor: Unlike you, Adam is willing to admit that he's a criminal. You and Nicholas and Abby are trying to steal from me and from my company. You're trying to rip it apart under the guise of this ridiculous lawsuit. And how do I stand sitting next to him, you ask? Very simple. He's the only one of my children who's tried to help me save my damn company, not rip it apart.
Victoria: Well, I hope that the company and Adam are a great comfort to you for years to come, because you know what? That's all you're gonna have. What this has cost us, all of us, can't be measured in money.
Adam: Nobody's gonna find out.
Sharon: How can you be so sure?
Adam: 'Cause there's only one other person who knows what I've been doing.
Sharon: And that's Victor.
Adam: Yes, and he's not gonna say a word if I do what he wants.
Sharon: (Sighs) I hate this.
Adam: You think I like it, Sharon? What do you expect from me? Look, I-I love you, Sharon, and I'm not gonna just stand idly by while you go away for something you didn't do. Don't you get that?
Sharon: Yes, I know your heart was in the right place, but, Adam, this was a crazy idea!
Adam: Yes, it was crazy. I give you that. It was unconventional, just like you and I are.
Sharon: Look, I'm not mad at you, okay? I just cannot believe that Victor is now gonna use this to make you perjure yourself.
Adam: Well, at least you understand.
Sharon: Whatever happens, we can handle it, okay? As long as we're together.
Spencer: As soon as I hear about jury selection, I'll let you know.
Nina: Thank you very much for your help. We appreciate it.
Spencer: Take care of yourself.
Nina: Are you as excited as I am?
Chance: Sure, Mom. I just need to get through the trial.
Nina: Pretty soon, this'll be all over, and life can get back to normal, okay?
Meggie: Like it or not, you're gonna help me.
Deacon: Help you what? Uh, what do you-- what do you want me-- (Scoffs) Find you an attorney? What do you want me to do? I mean, I can't do anything.
Meggie: Oh, you have such tunnel vision. Well, maybe you should just dig and dig and come through, get it?
Deacon: (Whispers) What do you want me to do, bust you out? (Normal voice) You're certifiable. You know that? I can't do that. It's impossible.
Meggie: (Chuckles) Well, keeping your rich bitch lady love is gonna be impossible if you don't. I'm not bluffing, Deacon. If you don't come through for me and get me outta here, and I go down, Nikki's gonna find out that her little working-class hero was working from the start against her.
Deacon: (Sighs)
Nina: Mail's here, and we've got movies. Why don't you pick one out, and I'll watch it with you?
Chance: Will you make some popcorn?
Nina: Well, is there any other way to watch a film? Of course I will.
Chance: It's been so long since I've had any.
Nina: Well, just you wait. After you testify, I'm gonna drag you to every movie that comes out. I'll be right back.
Chance: Mom, wait.
Nina: What?
Chance: Um, don't forget the parmesan on the corn.
Nina: Of course not. I'll make it like always.
Kay: The way you handled that sick woman... I was very proud of you.
Murphy: Well, you're not the only tough old bird around here.
Kay: (Chuckles) No, I suppose not. I suppose not. But I meant what I said. Whatever resources you need to prosecute her is at your disposal.
Murphy: I really appreciate that, Katherine.
Kay: Mm. Oh, gosh. When you think about the lives that she's wrecked... you lost your son.
Murphy: Hmm.
Kay: She hurt Nikki, Victor. I almost lost you. No, she will never, never, ever, ever again hurt anyone. Not anyone.
[Deacon remembering]
Meggie: I'm not bluffing, Deacon. You better come through for me and get me out of here. If you don't help me and I go down, Nikki's gonna find out her working-class Romeo has been playing her from the start.
Deacon: (Sighs)
(Knock on door)
Nikki: That man makes me so furious! (Scoffs)
Deacon: (Stammers) Victor?
Nikki: He has just-- he's gone too far this time.
Deacon: Hey, come here. Come here. Come on. Listen, the only thing these lips oughta be wearing is a smile. And since Victor's the one who seems to turn it upside down, you know what I'm gonna do right now? I'm gonna officially declare this right here a Victor-free zone, all right? No more talk about Victor--what--sorry. Wait, "He who shall not be named." Whatever he's said, whatever he's done, we're gonna forget it, because right now, Baby, you're with me, and the only thing I want to do is make you happy.
Nikki: And you do.
Deacon: Mm.
Nikki: And you will never know now much I appreciate your integrity. I know you'll always have my back. Mm.
Deacon: (Sighs)
Billy: Um, Honey?
Victoria: Hmm?
Billy: I'm sorry. I had an epiphany.
Victoria: Hmm?
Billy: I'm gonna write an article about your father after all.
Victoria: I knew it. I knew a Victor-free "Restless Style" was too good to be true.
Billy: But just hear me out, okay?
Victoria: No, no. Attacking my dad in the press is just gonna piss off the arbitrator. We had this discussion. Do you remember that?
Billy: I know, Honey, we did. But that was before he attacked you.
Victoria: Attacked us?
Billy: Yes.
Victoria: You said he practically wrote a love letter to us.
Billy: I--yes, but see, that's what we need to do. We need to show Judge Phelps what a crock this is. What we need to do is juxtapose all of Victor's statements about love and devotion for his kids to all the ways he's used, abused, hurt, screwed over, and--and just manipulated the hell out of you.
Victoria: Don't forget about fired and jailed.
Billy: See? Those, too. Okay, bottom line, we'll be printing the truth, and that's what your arbitrator is after.
Victoria: Okay. You know what? You're right.
Billy: Mm-hmm.
Victoria: Go for it.
Billy: You see? Now we're talkin', Baby.
Victoria: Yeah.
Billy: You know what? I'm gonna need you to make a list here.
Victoria: A list?
Billy: Yeah, a list of all the dirty little deeds daddy's done to you.
Victoria: I think I'm gonna need a bigger notebook.
Sharon: Adam, you don't have to do this.
Adam: I know. But I don't want my mistake to hurt you.
Sharon: We'll find some other way.
Adam: Well, it's Victor's way or... is there ever really any other way? When he wins this lawsuit, he will help get these murder charges dropped for you, and then I am done. That is it. I won't be his puppet anymore. Never again. And then you and I-- we can have him out of our lives.
Sharon: There was this time where I... I couldn't even conceive of that-- of having Victor out of my life forever. I thought I meant something to him, the way that he al... the way that he meant something to me. Why does it hurt so much every time he does something else to prove how little he cares? I... I just thought of him like a father.
Adam: All I can say is be glad he isn't your father.
Sharon: I'll be waiting here.
Adam: (Exhales)
Victor: (Sighs)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Michael: What the hell game are you playing?
Kevin: I don't want this place involved.
Angelo: This place, your family, they're all gonna be involved.
Man: You're not going to turn me down, are you Jill?
Jill: Katherine!
