Episode # 9596 ~ Diane Confesses Hidden Feelings

Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma

Diane: Why torture yourself reading that garbage?

Victor: Because I need to know what people are saying.

Diane: Who cares what they say?

Victor: Easy for you to say, my darling. It affects business, you know.

Diane: All right.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Diane: You've weathered far worse than this.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Diane: And for what it's worth, I have all the confidence in the world in you.

Victor: Well, that's very kind of you. By the way, did you sleep well last night? You seemed to be tossing and turning.

Diane: Kyle's first night at Jack's. I guess I was a little anxious.

Victor: Why'd you agree to let him stay there?

Diane: Not up for another battle, I guess. But he won't be there long if I know my son. He can't stand Phyllis, and Phyllis is always lurking around Jack, so I give it a few days, tops, before Kyle says he wants to come back here.

Victor: You're sure about that?

Jack: I love having my son with me full-time.

Phyllis: I'm happy for you. That's great. I can understand you not wanting him to stay at Victor's since Diane and Victor are playing house. Um, listen, I don't understand that. Why didn't she put up a fight?

Jack: Well, I think she knew I wasn't gonna give up on this. Besides, it serves her. This way, she has plenty of time to cement her place at Victor's side.

Phyllis: Well, we have a problem.

Jack: Oh? What's that?

Phyllis: Your son hates me. He's not gonna want me around.

Jack: Listen, I-I've been thinking about that. Let's just take it one step at a time. As soon as he knows you better, he's going to adore you every bit as much as I do.

Phyllis: So what are you saying? I tiptoe into your bedroom at night?

Jack: That does kinda sound like some fun. Let me say I'm sorry one more time about the way I went off on you yesterday.

Phyllis: Oh, no, no, no. I'm sorry. Let me say I'm sorry. I know you had a strategy in line, and I screwed it up by telling Nick about the video.

Jack: Well, I did. I know why you told Nick. It's just-- it was kind of a game changer. Anyway, so we don't have any further arguments, I want you to know what my next plan is.

Adam: Hmm. I just can't believe the heir apparent turned on Dad.

Sharon: Oh, it's happened before. But whatever it was that pushed Nick to turn on Victor, it had to be huge.

Adam: Well, if it hurts the old man, that's fine by me. I just want to find out what Jack and Phyllis found in Hawaii that would nail him and would help you out. I don't understand why they're being so secretive. They know your back is against the wall.

Sharon: Jack's priority is to screw Victor first. Helping me comes second.

Adam: Well, that's a bunch of crap, because if they have evidence that can clear you, they have no right keeping that to themselves.

(Cell phone rings)

Sharon: Oh. Hello, Jack. What do you want?

Jack: There's been a change of plans. We want you to know what we have on Victor.

Sharon: I'm listening.

Jack: I'm coming over.

Adam: What'd he say?

Sharon: He's coming over here to tell me what they found on Victor.

Adam: I'll believe it when I see it.

Sharon: Why now? Why the sudden change?

Lily: Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better. Yeah, Daniel stayed the night, and we had a really great talk, so... no, Dad... (Chuckles) I don't need you to come over here. I am fine, okay? Listen, as much as I love you, I could use a break. Yes, okay. Well, listen, I gotta get the babies' bottles ready before they wake up, so... okay, I'll talk to you later. Love you. Bye.

(Static crackles)

Lily: Cane?

Victoria: Really?

Abby: A "Prezzie" for my soon-to-be Goddaughter.

Victoria: Wow, this is for the christening, right?

Abby: Oh, it's like-- it's like a pre-christening gift, but open it.

Victoria: Oh, my--cute!

Abby: (Gasps) Baby bling. Do you love it? (Laughs)

Victoria: I love it. We are going to be stylin' in all the mommy and me classes.

Abby: I am telling you, the other babies are going to be so jealous. (Laughs)

Victoria: Yeah, this is somethin'. Oh, did I tell you that, uh, Lucy's got two Godfathers?

Abby: Oh, no, no. Who?

Victoria: Mm-hmm. Nick and, uh, Jack. They both said yes.

Abby: Well, she is one lucky little girl to have so many people watching over her.

Victoria: Yeah, she is. I know.

(Cell phone rings)

Abby: Oh, wait. Sorry. Hey, Leslie. What's up?

Victoria: (Whispers) Leslie?

Abby: Are you serious? Really?

Michael: Thank you. Mm-hmm. All right, bye.

Nick: Michael.

Michael: Hey. Have you, uh, heard from your lawyer yet?

Nick: No. Why?

Michael: Apparently, the judge is going to announce his decision today.

Nick: Vance and Leslie think we're gonna win.

Michael: Well, it's a stronger case now that you've joined the plaintiffs. But no one's really gonna be a winner in this case. I was hoping you'd, uh, reconsider and drop this suit while there's still time.

Nick: Eh, it's too late. What my father has done to this family is unforgivable.

Michael: I've known your family a long time. I've seen the demands Victor makes on his children. I've seen you and Victoria butt heads with him countless times. You may not like what he-- what he does, but he's always done it out of love of his family.

Nick: I used to think that. I don't anymore.

Michael: All right, I'm gonna talk to you as a friend-- you know, the guy you beat at basketball all the time. I'm very concerned about what this is doing to all of you. You know, Abby looks miserable. And though you and try and hide it, I know you and Victoria are hurting, too. Look... (Sighs) I know you don't want to destroy your father. I know you don't want to destroy Newman Enterprises. Take it from someone who has his share of regrets. I wish to God I hadn't done a lot of the things I've done. And you don't want to look back later on in your life and regret not having found another way to deal with your father.

Nick: Why is it that we're always the ones that have to change? Why can't our father find a different way to deal with us?

Michael: He's a proud man, you know? But there's still time to work things out.

Nick: (Sighs) I'll see you at the arbitration.

 (Static crackles)

Lily: Cane? If you're trying to communicate with me, I liked it better when I heard and saw you, because... (Sighs) This whole static thing is really freaking me out. Oh, my gosh. You pulled the cord out of the baby monitor, you crazy dog. You almost gave me a heart attack. (Sighs) Okay, Lily, replace the backup battery so this doesn't happen again, okay?

Victor: Don't you think it's a gamble you're taking? What if Kyle decides to stay with Jack?

Diane: Oh, that'll never happen.

Victor: I mean, I hate for you to lose your relationship with your son because you thought that things would turn out differently.

Diane: Well, what-- what do you think I should do?

Victor: Well, I think you should talk to Kyle, tell him that you understand that he wants to see Jack, who is his father, every so often, but that you really want him to stay here at the ranch with you and me.

Diane: You want Kyle here?

Victor: I think he's a great kid, from what I've seen. I think you did a very good job raising him.

Diane: Well, thank you.

Victoria: You didn't hear any of that, did you?

Daniel: I'm sorry, what?

Victoria: I see the way that you look at Lucy. It must be kind of strange for you. I mean, after everything that you've been through. Yeah?

Daniel: Yeah, um...

Victoria: Yeah.

Daniel: No, uh... (Chuckles)

Victoria: No?

Daniel: I am... I am really happy for you and Billy.

Victoria: Thank you.

Abby: (Sighs) Leslie just said she thinks this could be our final day of arbitration.

Daniel: But that's fantastic. I mean, that's huge, right?

Abby: Yeah.

Daniel: Um, you know what? You guys should probably talk about this, so I'll take off, all right?

Abby: Okay. All right.

Daniel: Good luck today.

Abby: Thank you.

Daniel: Good luck.

Abby: Thank you.

Daniel: (Clears throat)

Victoria: This is great. Oh, bye. See you.

Abby: See you.

Daniel: Bye-bye.

Abby: Hey.

Victoria: Hey. Uh, Leslie called, and we have really, really big news.

Nick: Yeah, I know. I ran into Michael at the coffeehouse. I'm surprised things are moving this quickly.

Victoria: Yes.

Abby: (Sighs) Quickly? Yeah, it's not for us.

Victoria: It's kind of hard to believe that this could be the big day, huh?

Abby: Well, I wouldn't pop open the champagne just yet. I know better than to underestimate Michael or Dad.

Victoria: Yeah.

Jack: I am certain it's Victor in that footage. He was there on the volcano the night that Sharon confronted Skye.

Sharon: Victor was there?

Adam: Son of a bitch. So not only does he hide Skye out in Hawaii, but he's a possible witness to her death.

Jack: It's quite possible.

Sharon: Which means he would know that was an accident.

Adam: Sharon, this guy's hangin' you out to dry. What a piece of work he is, huh? All right, you know, its one thing to come after me. That's fine. He can do it all he wants. Bring it on. But to take this out on you--

Jack: He's already alienated his entire family. What makes you think Sharon's gonna get a free ride?

Adam: Oh, you're one to talk, Jack. Remember that little talk we had where we agreed that you would give us information when you found it? You should have given this video up to Sharon's lawyer the second you stepped off the plane.

Sharon: Yeah, Jack, why didn't you?

Jack: I told you, the video is dark. It's not easy to make out the face. I wasn't sure authorities would agree that it's Victor.

Sharon: There has to be a way to prove it.

Jack: I've hired a forensic photographer. The hope is that he can do a computer enhancement and make the image clearer. I didn't want to tell you anything until I knew I had something solid.

Sharon: Why tell me now? Certainly not out of the goodness of your heart.

Jack: Well, there's been a change of plans. Unfortunately, Phyllis showed the video to Nick.

Sharon: What? She didn't.

Jack: And Nick, in turn, confronted dear old Dad.

Sharon: (Sighs)

Adam: Well played, Jack. Good. So now Victor knows everything that we know. That's--that's great.

Jack: He flat-out denied having any knowledge of what went on in Hawaii. I guess we have to hope that this specialist we've hired can make something of this video.

Adam: So you and Phyllis screw this whole thing up. You let Victor in on it. And then you tell us afterwards. So I'll be polite here, and I'll call it poor judgment.

Jack: I don't really give a damn what your opinion of my judgment is, Junior.

Sharon: Okay, wh-when did Phyllis talk to Nick?

Jack: The same day I talked to you.

Sharon: So that's why he joined the lawsuit.

Jack: Yeah, quite possibly. I'm sure Nick is pretty ticked off at his old man's lies.

Adam: So what now? We just wait around and let your "Expert" decide Sharon's fate?

Jack: I've said what I came here to say. I'm sorry things turned out this way.

Adam: Not half as sorry as you're gonna be.

Sharon: (Sighs) It never dawned on me Nick would join his sister's lawsuit.

Adam: As much as I like the sibs goin' after, uh, the old man, it doesn't change the fact that you're facing a murder charge.

Sharon: (Sighs) And my best chance at defending myself was sabotaged by Phyllis.

Adam: We need to see that video.

Sharon: I can't even talk about this anymore. I need some air or something.

Adam: (Sighs)

Sharon: I'm telling you, Adam, I could kill Phyllis for what she did. I could kill her. I knew she wouldn't keep up with her end of the agreement. Damn that woman.

Phyllis: Just missed Jack. That's a shame. He could have told you what a great time he had with Kyle.

Diane: Well, Kyle called me last night, and again this morning on his way to school. I'm delighted that he's handling the transition so well. So if you don't mind, I'd like to enjoy my breakfast without gagging.

Phyllis: Oh, okay. Well, um, Jack had some theories as to why you were so okay with Kyle staying with him, and, um, I think they're good guesses. One, you want to avoid a civil war. Two, you want to cozy up with Victor. I think you have something else going on.

Diane: And you can't wait to tell me.

Phyllis: (Whispering) Diane, I despise you. (Quietly) And I know you love your son. So I'm wondering why you didn't put up a fight when Kyle went to go stay with Jack. 'Cause the Diane I know and love would never roll over that easily.

Daniel: Is, uh, now a good time to stop by?

Lily: Yeah, Charlie and Matty had their bottles, and they're asleep, so what's up?

Daniel: I, uh, I saw Lucy again, and Victoria caught me starin' at her. She said it must be hard for me not knowing where my own kid is. And I started to kind of freak out.

Lily: Did she notice?

Daniel: No, I don't-- I don't think so. But I'm startin' to get scared every time I'm around that baby, you know, thinkin' that somebody's gonna figure it out. I mean, what if she starts to look like me as she gets older? You know, or Mom. I mean, she's got auburn hair. What if her hair gets really, really red? What if I'm over at the house someday, and Billy or Victoria o-or Abby... what if they realize that Lucy's my biological daughter?

Victoria: Lucy's gonna nap for a while.

Abby: Okay, I-I-I'm sorry. How can you be so calm? What if Dad has something up his sleeve that we're not expecting?

Victoria: Okay, listen to me. Don't wig out on us now. We're almost there, all right?

Abby: Okay, all right. Um, how did Michael seem when you saw him? I mean, was he confident? Did he seem defeated?

Nick: He said we have a very strong case.

Abby: Yeah.

Nick: Then he tried to get me to change my mind, back out before I did something I'd regret.

Abby: "Did something he'd regret"? What does that mean? What does that mean? Something that he'd regret?

Victoria: Nothing! Nothing. Nothing. It was nothing.

Nick: He was just talking to me as a friend, you know? Not--not like a lawyer, though he didn't say anything that I hadn't thought of already. Then again, maybe he was just acting as Dad's attorney and trying to spook me.

Victoria: Of course he was. Michael's panicking, 'cause he knows what everyone else does-- Dad's gonna lose.

Michael: It is my belief that the judge will render a decision in favor of your children today.

Victor: There's nothing else you can do?

Michael: Well, I was awake all night figuring out a solution, and there is an option. It's a long shot.

Victor: Let me hear it.

Michael: Have the new trust agreements rendered null and void, and have the older more stringent ones reinstated. The older agreements gave you full control over how the monies were handled.

Victor: And I managed my children's trusts as I saw fit.

Michael: You tossed out those old agreements during a very dark period in your life. This was around Sabrina's death.

Victor: When I disinherited both Victoria and Nicholas.

Michael: And you accorded Adam full authority over Newman Enterprises before taking off to Mexico.

Victor: How the hell did I ever do that? One of the most egregious mistakes I probably ever made.

Michael: And once you reconciled with Nicholas and Victoria, the new agreements gave them much more say in the management of the trust funds, hence the--the foundation of their lawsuit.

Victor: Any way to reinstate the old trusts?

Michael: You'll have to claim that when you created the new agreements, you were suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder in the wake of Sabrina's death.

Victor: (Sighs) You're asking me to declare that I'm nuts? Is that it?

Michael: Victor, if you want to save your company, it's the time for desperate measures.

Victor: (Sighs)

Jack: Hey, Phyllis, it's me. I thought I'd give you a little heads-up. If you're feeling any sudden sharp pains, that'd be Sharon sticking pins in your voodoo doll. My meeting with her and Adam went pretty much as you'd expect. Uh, I'll fill you in on that later. Anyway, I just-- I hope you're having a nicer morning than I am.

Diane: Sure, Jack and I have our differences, but that should not get in the way of Kyle becoming close with his father.

Phyllis: (Laughs) Oh, God. That is such a crock, Diane. You didn't want Kyle staying with Jack before. What's different?

Diane: I wasn't involved with Victor. A new relationship is a big change for Kyle. He's had me to himself for many years. I just-- I want to ease him into it.

Phyllis: Oh. Oh. Okay. You've been flaunting this relationship with Victor all over town. It has nothing to do with that. You need space. The question is, why?

Diane: Well, you undoubtedly have the answer.

Phyllis: I do.

Diane: (Laughs)

Phyllis: I do, actually. Um, we both know Victor's never gonna marry you, so I think you're just trying to squeeze a couple mil out of him.

Diane: Oh, good God, Phyllis. Don't you have anything better to do than obsess over my life? Flood a guest room, for instance?

Phyllis: You have bounced from man to man to man. You never really hold on to one long. I-I think we both know you're just a seat warmer for Victor until he goes back to Nikki.

Diane: We don't all repeat our mistakes.

Phyllis: Do you have a backup plan, Sweetie? You have another rich guy waiting in the wings?

Diane: Victor is everything I could possibly want.

Phyllis: An unlimited checkbook.

Diane: You should save that lurid imagination for that trashy rag you write.

Nick: If everyone knows Dad's gonna lose, I wonder if Dad knows that.

Victoria: He's too smart not to. The evidence is definitely against him.

Abby: Oh, you know, I almost forgot to tell you guys what happened yesterday. I was feeling really low. I was doing the whole depression thing, curled up on the couch watching tearjerkers, bawling my eyes out, and guess who showed up?

Nick: Dad.

Abby: He said he wants to be close again. He actually seemed really sincere.

Nick: Oh, I bet he was-- sincere about getting you to back out of the suit.

Abby: He said that we could put all of this behind us if I would accept one last settlement offer...

Nick: (Sighs)

Abby: Which, of course, I didn't take it. I explained to him that I'm feeling really close to you, and that I don't want to risk that. And I also mentioned that you asked me to be Lucy's Godmother. (Laughs)

Victoria: Yeah.

Abby: And, um, he made it seem like you had only asked me to do that, like, as a bribe to keep me from caving.

Victoria: Oh, that was low.

Abby: Oh. (Scoffs) I almost forgot. Diane walked in. I'm sorry, you guys. Was anyone gonna tell me that they were shacking up? I told him that I thought Diane was just using him for his money, and he told me that his personal life is none of my concern, and then it hit me. He is never gonna be the father that I want him to be. He's never gonna be that ever again. He used to be so patient and loving and sweet.

Nick: Look, you were young. You weren't a threat.

Abby: And now he's so cold and--and manipulative. (Scoffs) I'm not his pawn. Now I don't want Machiavelli as a father.

Victoria: You know, we did talk about this. Dad can be very loving and very wonderful if you obey him.

Nick: I mean, it's his way or the wrong way, and he will not tolerate anyone challenging him.

Victor: I refuse to claim that I had a mental disorder to win this damn case. Imagine what that would do to Newman Enterprises.

Michael: Then you'll lose, and you'll have to take the company public. Reconsider.

Victor: There's got to be another option.

Michael: I don't-- we only have a few hours. I'm sorry, Victor. We've run out of options.

Victor: (Sighs) No. You never run out of options. You just find a solution. That's what I pay you for.

Lily: So...

Daniel: Thank you.

Lily: Do you really think that someone is gonna figure out that Lucy is your child? Or do you think maybe it's possible that subconsciously, you're kind of hoping someone will because that's what you really want?

Daniel: No, no. That's not what I want at all. I want things to stay exactly the way that they are. It's best for me, and it's best for Lucy if she stays where she is. I mean, she's in a loving home with two pretty great parents. I don't know. Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid.

Lily: Maybe. Listen, I don't think anyone's gonna figure it out. I mean, as far as people know, Daisy was still pregnant when she was caught on that A.T.M. camera in Canada. And that's right around the same time that Lucy was adopted.

Daniel: Yeah, no, you're right. Uh, I'm probably just workin' myself up for nothing. A little ridiculous how jumpy I am.

Lily: Oh, it is not ridiculous. And you, my friend, are not the only one who's jumpy. Before you came over here, I heard static on the baby monitor, and I immediately assumed that it was cane trying to talk to me. Yeah, how wacked is that? (Chuckles)

Daniel: Well, did you hear his voice or something?

Lily: No, no. It was just static. I realized that Humphrey pulled the cord out of the adaptor, and the battery was low, so it wasn't functioning right.

Daniel: Well, we are quite the pair, aren't we? (Laughs)

Lily: (Laughs) Yeah. So lesson learned for today-- don't let our fears get the best of us.

Daniel: Yeah. (Sighs)

Nick: If we win today, it's gonna change everything.

Abby: Yeah, Dad's never, ever gonna talk to me again.

Victoria: He's gonna forgive you one day.

Nick: I disagree. When I turned in Dad for commercial bribery, it was almost the death of our relationship.

Victoria: Yes, but I-it wasn't.

Nick: Yeah, but I don't think he ever really got over that. And now he probably just sees the three of us ganging up on the real first child in this family.

Victoria: Newman Enterprises.

Abby: (Sighs)

Nick: It's the company he's devoted his entire life to. And he will never, ever forgive us if we force him to relinquish control and take this company public. And I, for one, can live with that.

Phyllis: I'm looking right at it. You promised us the exclusive. Why am I seeing it on our competitor's web site? Ow. Wh--ow! Okay, my guess is that you spoke to Jack.

Sharon: When you say you're going to help someone, you need to actually help her, not the person who's letting her take the fall for a murder she didn't commit.

Adam: You're gonna man up and do right by Sharon.

Daniel: Well, thank you again for the talk. It's nice to finally be able to tell someone about Lucy. You have no idea what it's like walkin' around with a secret like that.

Lily: I haven't exactly phoned people to tell them that I think Cane is trying to reach me from the great beyond.

Daniel: Well, you can call me anytime. You know that.

Lily: Yeah. It goes both ways.

Daniel: Mm, it does. And you, you little monster, no more tricking mommy, okay? You're gonna have to answer to me.

Lily: Oh, I know his ways. His little trickster days are over.

Daniel: Bye.

Lily: Okay, when the babies wake up, you want to go for a nice little walk? Hmm?

(Music box playing "When the wind blows")

Lily: (Sighs) Oh, my God.

Michael: Hey, you. Comin' or goin'?

Diane: Oh, hi, Michael. I'm going, actually.

Michael: Well, stay. Have a cup of coffee with a friend. I'm paying.

Diane: Wow, how could a girl refuse? Thanks. (Sighs) So you must be, uh, a little stressed over this arbitration?

Michael: (Sighs) Yeah, well, that's putting it mildly.

Diane: Mm. Victor wouldn't even talk about it this morning.

Michael: You and Victor.

Diane: (Sighs) I know.

Michael: Yeah. That's gonna take some getting used to.

Diane: (Laughs)

Michael: And that very public declaration he made on Valentine’s Day...

Diane: Mm, introducing me as the new woman in his life. It caused quite an uproar.

Michael: I have to say, you didn't look too enthusiastic.

Diane: Uh, I was just taken off guard, that's all. And really, I thought that Victor was just putting on a show for Nikki's sake, but it turns out that he is more invested in this relationship than I thought, and not just with me-- with Kyle, too.

Michael: Hmm. You happy?

Diane: (Sighs) Victor's been wonderful, of course. It's just, um, it's moved so fast, you know? In no time, I went from being his ex to his employee to whatever I am now. I don't know what I am. I'm his--his companion, or his mistress or his stand-in wife and family. I don't know. I guess I'd forgotten how quickly you can get swept up into Victor's world.

Michael: He sees what he wants, and he goes for it.

Diane: Michael, you swear as my friend that you will not repeat what I am about to tell you.

Michael: Mm. Okay.

Diane: Okay. Before I moved in with Victor, there was another man. And he--he said that it was over, but I think he still has feelings for me.

Michael: So you're saying that you might want to be with this man if you could?

Diane: Uh... I don't know. I just know that I can't stop... I can't stop wondering about it.

Sharon: You should have never gone to Nick with that footage of Victor.

Phyllis: (Sighs) Listen, Sharon. Nick needed to know who his father is. He needs to know that his father's a manipulator and a liar. It affects my daughter.

Sharon: No, this affects my children, too, Phyllis. I am the one who's on trial for murder here. This should have been my call, and you don't really care what happens to me, do you?

Phyllis: Okay. Okay, listen. Listen, please. None of this will matter once the forensics photographer proves that that was Victor on the volcano.

Sharon: (Sighs) You know, I'm so mad at myself for actually thinking that you would do something right. Once again, true to form, you broke your end of the agreement, didn't you?

Phyllis: I stand by my decision. I stand by it. And I don't appreciate you coming into my place of business and creating a scene, thank you.

Sharon: Really? Too bad. 'Cause I'm just getting started with it.

Jack: Okay, you know what? Calm down, both of you. Both of you.

Victor: You think you can just barge into my office and give me orders?

Adam: What has Sharon ever done to you to deserve that kind of treatment? You want to come at me? You want to play games? You want to hate on me? I'm here 24/7, Dad. But we're talkin' about the mother of your grandchildren. We're talking about an innocent victim here.

Victor: They will not have enough proof to find her guilty.

Adam: Listen, I know what you did. And now Nick and Phyllis and Jack and Sharon, they all know what you did in Hawaii. You faked Skye's death. You tried to frame me. (Applauds) You were on that volcano the night that Skye was accidentally killed.

Victor: Got any proof?

Adam: Yeah. It's comin' together. And here's what's gonna play out. You are gonna walk into the D.A.'s office. You're gonna tell 'em that you were complicit in this whole thing. Tell 'em all about this mess you made. You're also gonna tell 'em about what you witnessed. If you don't, well, I'll just have to walk into the D.A.'s office myself, and I'll tell 'em.

Victor: Now you listen carefully, and I'll tell you how this will play out.

("When the Wind Blows" playing)

Lily: (Sighs)

("When the Wind Blows" playing)

Lily: (Sighs) Who opened the music box?

Diane: He's sweet, and he's handsome, and he's funny, and I can relax and be myself.

Michael: All right, all right, just stop! Stop. You are playing a dangerous game. Now I urge you to be straight with Victor. If you want a relationship, commit to it. If you're having reservations, get out now while you can still keep your job and your friendship. If you stay with Victor, and he sees you're leading him on, you... (Chuckles) You will pay dearly.

Abby: I think it's really sad the way this has all turned out. I mean, Dad managed to alienate all of us, and yet he thinks that we have betrayed him.

Victoria: You know, after everything that's he's been through, growing up in an orphanage, you'd think that nothing would be more important to him than family.

Nick: You know, I get it. Dad has everything. He's got money and power and a-a family, but he's still that abandoned kid. It will always be him against the world, and that's why he can just switch off his humanity and justify everything he does. For him, its survival, and he's never figured out a way to get past that.

Victoria: That's why we filed this suit. We're gonna send the message that we can't be controlled anymore. I know the fallout is gonna be really epic. I'm sorry that things couldn't be different, but they're not. Hey, you know what? We're almost there.

Abby: Yeah.

Victoria: Right? We're just-- we're hours away from victory. Right?

Abby: Yeah.

Victoria: Okay.

Jack: Look, I understand your anger. Initially, I was angry, too, but I understand why Phyllis told Nick, and if the situation was reversed, you would do exactly the same thing.

Sharon: Oh, well, of course you would take Phyllis' side. Jack, even after she went behind your back?

Jack: Victor is the enemy here, not Phyllis, not me.

Phyllis: Okay, Guys, you know, unless the expert that you hired can prove that that was Victor on the volcano, really, we have nothing. That footage is useless. Victor says he wasn't in Hawaii. We say he was. It doesn't mean anything. We still don't have proof that Sharon didn't push Skye into that volcano.

Sharon: Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Phyllis: Instead of railing at us, you should really be praying for a miracle that somebody saves your butt from a long prison sentence.

Adam: What makes you think I want to hear anything you have to say? I'm not negotiating with you.

Victor: You will if you want me to help save Sharon. Do I have your attention now? I will save Sharon if you will do something in return for me.

Adam: What's that?

Victor: I want you to help me save my empire.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Sharon: You didn't make a deal with the devil to get me out of these charges, did you?

Victoria: What is he doing here?

Tucker: When Sofia came here, you could barely stand to work with her. What changed?
