Episode # 9594 ~ Jane Says Goodbye to Kevin
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Victor: My son Nicholas was supposed to testify on my behalf yesterday. Instead, he joined his sisters, his greedy sisters.
Michael: Well, it does baffle me how he could flip like that.
Victor: We'll have to lay off a lot of people.
Michael: I wonder if your children ever think of the effect their actions have on others.
Victor: Never gone hungry a day in their lives.
Michael: And this is how they repay you.
Victor: Yeah.
Michael: Well, uh, it is time to depose Nicholas. You coming?
Victor: I cannot listen to my children accuse me of being a thief.
Michael: For what it's worth, I spoke with Abby yesterday. She didn't seem as eager to sue you for her trust fund as her brother and sister. Something to think about, hmm? Okay.
Ashley: Oh, thank God, you're alive.
Abby: (Sighs) Hey. Sorry, I didn't hear the doorbell.
Ashley: Honey, well, I used my own key. I've been so worried about you. I've been leaving you messages since yesterday.
Abby: Yeah, I know. Daniel called me, too. I just don't feel like talking to anybody. (Sniffles)
Ashley: Well, no wonder you're so sad. Look at all these depressing movies. What are you doing?
Abby: (Sighs) No, it's not the movies. (Sniffles)
Ashley: What?
Abby: You heard about Nick?
Ashley: He joined the lawsuit.
Abby: Yeah.
Ashley: It's everywhere on the news.
Abby: I'm supposed to be happy or grateful, but... I mean, it's gonna give us a better chance of winning, so...
Ashley: Mm-hmm. But you're not happy?
Abby: The look on Dad's face when he realized that Nicholas had turned on him, too, it was horrible, Mom. It was horrible.
Ashley: I can't even imagine.
Abby: I feel like my father is losing everything he cares about, and it's all my fault.
Nikki: So is this true? You're suing your father now, too?
Nick: Mom, can we talk about this later? I have a meeting with Michael.
Nikki: No, you and I are going to your father's office right now. We're going to sit down and discuss this like three rational adults.
Nick: I have nothing more to say to him.
Nikki: Nicholas. Nicholas!
Victor: Don't you ever knock?
Nikki: Victor, how can you be so calm while your children are banding against you? This insanity has to stop!
Victor: What has to stop is that you think you have the right to barge in here anytime you want.
Nikki: I am trying to help you. Don't you see that?
Victor: If I needed your help, I would have asked you! Show yourself out.
Nikki: (Sighs)
Kevin: (Sighs) What are you doing?
Jana: Oh, sorry. Did I wake you? I was trying to be quiet.
Kevin: You're packing?
Jana: (Chuckles) Yeah, I can't go to Billy and Victoria's without my things, silly.
Kevin: You're in a good mood.
Jana: (Sighs) You know, it just hit me this morning-- I'm so tired of feeling sorry for myself.
Kevin: Yeah?
Jana: So my life didn't turn out the way that I had hoped. Whose does? (Chuckles) I'm gonna look at this as a new adventure, a chance to start again. (Sighs)
Chloe: Thank you for hiring a crazy stalker as your nanny.
Billy: Oh, come on. Jana's good with kids.
Chloe: Yeah, when she's not boiling bunnies.
Billy: (Muttering)
Victoria: I wonder if there's such a thing as drama queens anonymous.
Billy: Oh, Chloe's the least of our worries. Now that your brother has joined the lawsuit, the media is all over it.
Victoria: (Sighs) I know, and it's only gonna get worse.
Billy: Yeah. See? They--they don't know the family dynamic, though. I mean, the horrendous things that Victor has done, the way he manipulates you guys?
Victoria: Mnh, mnh, mnh, mnh! Don't even think about it.
Billy: Come on. Somebody's gotta set the record straight-- my job. My job. My job.
Victoria: (Sighs)
Billy: Hi. Thank you.
Victoria: You can't retaliate in "Restless Style." Do you want to piss off the judge? Listen, I gotta go. (Sighs) Uh, I told the sitter I wouldn't be that long, and I have to get Jana's garage apartment ready.
Billy: Okay. Well, would you give Miss Lucy a kiss from her daddy?
Victoria: You are such a good daddy.
Billy: I know. It's good, isn't it? Hmm?
Victoria: Yeah.
Billy: Bye.
Victoria: Bye.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Billy: Chloe.
Chloe: Hmm?
Billy: Uh, I think we might need to condense the style issue. It's getting real packed.
(Car horns honking)
Chloe: (Sighs)
Billy: Chloe, um, what's wrong?
Chloe: Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
Chance: (Groans)
Heather: Whoa. Whoa!
Chance: (Sighs)
Heather: Hey. Hey. Steady there, big guy.
Chance: Look, I'm fine, all right? I'm--
Heather: No, Honey. No, you're not fine. You just had major surgery. You're missing half your liver.
Chance: (Sighs)
Heather: You really should not be pushing yourself so hard.
Chance: When I face Pomerantz in that courtroom, I will not be in a wheelchair. (Sighs)
Heather: He still thinks you're dead.
Chance: Yeah, well, and won't it be a surprise to him to see that I've risen from the grave to help put him behind bars? (Inhales sharply)
Heather: Are you nervous?
Chance: About the trial? (Sighs) No way. I can't wait to see that creep suffer for the crimes that he's done.
Heather: (Sighs) Yeah, I hear you.
Chance: At least something good will come from me being back.
Heather: It already did. You saved your brother's life.
Chance: Yeah. And we all saw how filled with gratitude he was. (Sighs)
Heather: I-I thought you were giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Chance: Let me tell you something. I wanted to believe that he wasn't playing us for this transplant. But having himself transferred immediately following the surgery, without a thank-you, without a good-bye to whoever knows where he is...
Heather: If he was conning us, then, uh... (Sighs) I guess I can just add him to the list of losers that I never should have gotten involved with.
Chance: Am I on that list?
Heather: Here, let me just--
Chance: Heather, look, I can manage. I can manage.
Heather: Okay, you know what? Let's just talk later. You really should rest.
Chance: (Sighs) Stay. I want to talk about this.
Chance: Do you regret getting involved with me?
Heather: (Sighs) Listen, when I saw you at the hospital, all I could think was... (Chuckles) What a miracle it is that you're alive.
Chance: And now?
Heather: You promised me that you were gonna come back to me.
Chance: What about it?
Heather: Why would you say that when you knew you were going into hiding and that we would never see each other again?
Chance: (Sighs) It was something to make you feel better.
Heather: (Chuckles) Wait, when I was supposed to feel better? A-after the paramedics pronounced you dead?
Chance: Heather, I--
Heather: I mean... (Sighs) D-do you realize how many times I've replayed that scene in my head, like, over and over again? I mean, it was hard enough to come to terms with your death, but thinking about the fact that we might have had a future together and--and--and how much I lost?
Chance: Well, excuse me, okay? I'm sorry. I didn't plan things out perfectly. I had a little less than 24 hours to get all of my affairs in order before going off into witness protection. I didn't rehearse a good-bye speech to every single person in my life. So trust me, whatever you feel you lost, I lost more.
Billy: You know, you're usually so focused, but today, you're, um, not.
Chloe: (Sighs) Why can't I be more like you? (Scoffs)
Billy: Wow, there's a statement I haven't heard every day.
Chloe: I mean, you screw up all the time.
Billy: (Sighs) Thank you.
Chloe: You do. But I don't know. You just--you keep on moving, you know? You never look back.
Billy: Okay, so what are you looking back at? What's got you so worked up that you, um... (Clicks lips) Chance.
Chloe: Why would you say that?
Billy: You were engaged to the guy. He cheated on you. He broke your heart, and then he died.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Billy: That's pretty rough.
Chloe: (Chuckles) You have no idea.
Billy: You want my advice?
Chloe: No.
Billy: Stop living in the past.
Chloe: That's it?
Billy: Until you can give up your baggage and let go of last year, you'll never be able to move on.
Chloe: As impossible as it seems, you know what? You're right. (Sighs) You know what? I'm gonna go home, and I'm gonna finish this there. What is this?
Billy: Is what? (Clears throat)
Chloe: Uh, I don't know. You titled the layout space for your editorial. What is this? "Newman lawsuit piece"? Really? You are not going after Victor.
Billy: Tell you what, why don't you worry about the style section and leave the editorials to the guy who writes your paychecks?
Chloe: Okay.
Michael: You said you understood why your father borrowed from your trust fund.
Leslie: My client has already answered that. Now unless you have any new questions, we're done.
Nick: (Sighs)
Michael: I'd like to speak to Nick alone.
Leslie: Not a good idea.
Nick: It's cool.
Leslie: (Whispers) Okay.
Nick: (Sighs)
Michael: You have been against this lawsuit from day one. Why are you doing this? All right, fine. Look, you don't see? Here-- friend, off the record.
Nick: Because I finally realized my father's never gonna change. He keeps hurting people he claims to love over and over again, and we all just give him a pass.
Michael: What about the future of the company? Hundreds of employees will lose their jobs.
Nick: I know, and I hate that. I really do. But, Michael, I can't keep enabling my father.
Michael: Nicholas, you've made a name for yourself at Newman Enterprises. I'm sure one day you're gonna take over. But if you sue Victor and you win, everything you, he, and your sister have worked for will be destroyed... bang! Up in smoke. I hope you've thought this through.
Nikki: Hello.
Victor: You're pushing your luck.
Nikki: Victor, you need to set aside our personal issues and deal with this lawsuit.
Victor: I am dealing with it. What do you want?
Nikki: It's not too late. You have the power to fix this.
Victor: I shouldn't have to fix it.
Nikki: Victor, please, just once in your life, swallow your pride. Try to stop proving a point and start putting your family back together before they're gone for good.
Heather: I've, uh, I've never heard you talk like this before.
Chance: Finding myself in a new town, a new identity, with people around me that I didn't even know, unable to contact the people that I wanted to, that I cared about?
Heather: (Sighs) Okay, I... (Chuckles) I really never thought of it that way.
Chance: Why would you have? To you, I was dead.
(Door opens)
Chloe: Chance, I ju-- oh. Heather. Well, whichever brother's in town, that's the one that you just glom onto, huh?
Heather: All right, I'm gonna step out for a sec.
Heather: (Takes out cell phone) (Dials phone number)
Michael: Thanks.
(Cell phone rings)
Michael: Baldwin.
Heather: Hey, it's, uh, it's Heather. I-I just wanted you to have a heads-up.
Michael: Mm-hmm, about?
Heather: Victoria and Billy, they're--they're planning to use "Restless Style" as a platform to fire back at Victor.
Victor: Do you think I built this company, this billion-dollar company, one of the biggest in the world, just to look at it? I built it for my kids! Victoria, Nicholas, Abby, future Newman generations-- that's who I built it for.
Nikki: I know that.
Victor: If they want their damn trust funds, if they want to cash in... (Sets mug down) Let 'em wait until I'm 6 feet under.
Nikki: (Sighs) Oh, my God! How can you talk that way about your children?
Victor: Don't you think it sickens me to talk this way about my own flesh and blood?
Nikki: I'll tell you what sickens me-- the thought of your future without Newman Enterprises or your children. Because I'm telling you, that's exactly where this thing is headed.
Victor: So be it!
Nikki: You will regret this, Victor. (Voice cracks) You will regret this.
Ashley: Is this the scrapbook that Brad made for you when you were younger?
Abby: Yeah.
Ashley: Aw.
Abby: It's when I graduated middle school. I was lookin' at it last night.
Ashley: Because of the anniversary of his death?
Abby: (Voice breaks) Yeah, and, um...
Ashley: Oh, Honey.
Abby: (Sobs) I'm sorry. It was, um, something Michael said.
Ashley: What? What did Michael say?
Abby: (Sniffles) Um, he said how awful it would be if this lawsuit caused me to lose another father.
Ashley: Oh, my God. (Clicks tongue)
Abby: (Sniffles)
Ashley: Abby.
Abby: I'm sorry.
Ashley: No. No, don't apologize.
Abby: (Sniffles)
Ashley: You know you have so many people in your life that care about you and love you.
Abby: Yeah. Yeah, I know. Daniel's been great, and... (Sniffles) Victoria and Nicholas have been really supportive, and--
Ashley: Hello!
Abby: (Sighs)
Ashley: What about me?
Abby: (Chuckles)
Ashley: I'm the president of your fan club.
Abby: So why do I feel so alone?
Ashley: (Clicks tongue)
Abby: (Sniffles)
Ashley: You know, I'm not going anywhere.
Abby: Yeah.
Ashley: You know that, right?
Abby: Okay, I know I got mad, and I kicked you out, but...
Ashley: Oh, that.
Abby: Yeah.
Ashley: (Laughs)
Abby: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Maybe you could move back in.
Ashley: Abby, I'm getting married, remember?
Abby: Oh, yeah.
Ashley: Yeah?
Abby: I guess Tucker expects you to live with him after that, huh?
Ashley: Oh... (Sighs) Well, you know, that's usually how it works.
Abby: Yeah. Well, it's no biggie. Whatever. (Sniffles) And thanks. Thanks for stopping by.
Ashley: You're welcome. I love you.
Abby: I love you, too.
(Movie playing)
Abby: (Sniffles)
Nick: So why'd you want to see me?
Victoria: Well, I wanted to find out what happened when you went to see Dad.
Nick: You mean after it all hit the fan yesterday?
Victoria: He pressured you to drop out of the lawsuit, didn't he?
Nick: Yeah.
Victoria: Are you?
Jana: Well... guess this is good-bye. (Sighs)
Kevin: (Sighs) You gonna be all right?
Jana: Yes. Absolutely.
Kevin: Jana, its okay to admit that this is tough. It's tough for me, too.
Jana: You know, I'm--I'm not gonna fall apart. I'm not gonna fall apart, because I'm not that girl anymore. I'm not. (Laughs)
Kevin: Okay.
Jana: (Sighs)
Kevin: I'm glad we can still talk like this.
Jana: Yeah. Yeah. Me, too.
Jana: You take care of yourself now, okay?
Kevin: You, too.
Jana: Bye.
Jana: (Sighs)
Chance: (Winces) (Sighs) Chloe, would it kill you and Heather to try and get along for a little bit?
Chloe: It might.
Chance: Look, I know this whole Ronan thing threw us. It threw all of us, all right? But it is stupid. Taking it out on one another? Come on.
Chloe: (Scoffs) This has nothing to do with Ronan.
Chance: Then what?
Chloe: I am trying to start something fresh with someone new. I learned how to trust a man again. Meantime, I am living under the same roof with my ex keeping your secret. And then I get to watch you with the girl that you cheated on me with in your bedroom.
Chance: Chloe, please, can you calm down for two seconds?
Chloe: No! No, you calm down, okay? Because all I ever wanted, all I ever wanted was to be happy-- find a nice guy, get married, and live happily ever after with my daughter. And instead, I am reliving every horrible moment that I ever had with you. Things were a lot easier when you were dead. That's all.
Chance: Technically, I am, so you got your wish.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Chance: (Groans) (Door opens)
Chance: (Sighs)
Ashley: We need to talk about our daughter.
Victor: Is she okay?
Ashley: No, she's miserable.
Victor: I'm sorry to hear that. I thought that she would be happy now that Nicholas has joined the lawsuit against me.
Ashley: She feels that she's lost both her fathers.
Victor: Mm. Well, she still has me.
Ashley: No, she doesn't. Not while this suit is pending, she doesn't.
Victor: Yeah, well, I am still... dealing with the reality of my son Nicholas joining his greedy sisters in their lawsuit against me.
Ashley: You know what? Quite honestly, Nicholas and Victoria, um, they're adults, and I don't mean to sound harsh, but they're not my concern. Abby is my concern, and right now, she's falling apart.
Victor: (Sighs)
Nick: Yeah, I've been... (Sighs) Wondering if I acted too impulsively.
Victoria: Dad hasn't always been a horrible father. I have some pretty decent memories. Sledding--that's a good memory. Yeah. (Chuckles) Flying down the hill-- Dad behind me, me in front. He had his arms around me, protecting me.
Nick: (Chuckles) I keep thinking about when I got home from boarding school, and he took me out sailing, and we hit some pretty rough water. It was obvious I was in over my head. But Dad just patted me on the back and told me that everything was cool, and that as long as he was with me, I'd be safe.
Victoria: Yeah. (Clicks lips) And then we grew up, and we weren't his "Good little soldiers" anymore.
Nick: And he couldn't handle it.
Victoria: Nope. You do realize that no matter which way this lawsuit goes that...
Nick: We may never be that close with him again?
Victoria: We may not have any relationship with him at all.
Nick: Then how come you haven't backed down?
Victoria: Because, Nick, I can't live with Dad being more concerned about controlling us than loving us.
Nick: Yet in his own warped way, I know that Dad loves us so much.
Victoria: (Sighs) Well, you still haven't told me what you've decided.
Nick: Dad's pulled too much crap, told too many lies. I'm with you and Abby for the duration.
(Doorbell rings)
Victoria: Um, I think that's Jana.
Nick: (Sighs)
Victoria: Mom.
Nikki: Oh, good. I'm glad you're both here. Somebody has to have the sense to end this lawsuit.
Heather: Well, you know, when you walked in on-- on Chance and me before, it--it really-- it wasn't what you thought.
Chloe: I'm not jealous of you, Heather.
Heather: You have no reason to be.
Chloe: I am more frustrated at the situation. That's all.
Heather: (Sighs) When I thought Chance was dead, I dreamt about what I would say to him if I could only see him one more time.
Chloe: So did I.
Heather: Now that we have the opportunity, it's a bit more complicated, isn't it? (Sighs)
Chloe: Yeah, I mean, I'm--I'm thrilled that he's alive. I just want to kill him for what he's putting us through.
(Door opens)
Chance: (Sighs) What are you still doing here?
Heather: (Sighs) I-I couldn't leave with so much unresolved.
Chance: It has been resolved. I want you both to go.
(Computer keys clicking)
Michael: (Clicks tongue) Uh, a little birdie told me that you were gonna slam Victor Newman--again-- in your, um, magazine.
Billy: You don't say.
Michael: Mm-hmm. I know you think you're helping your wife's case, but you're not, and you damn sure aren't gonna win any points from the judge.
Billy: What if I decide to take my own chances?
Michael: Well, I'll file a cease and desist order.
Billy: Would you like to take a peek?
(Paper rustles)
Michael: Oh. Yeah.
Michael: (Muttering)
(Computer keys clicking)
Michael: Um, this isn't about the lawsuit. It isn't even about the Newmans.
Billy: Yeah. You need to get some new birdies.
Michael: So you're not going after Victor?
Billy: Michael... (Clears throat) My wife and her siblings, they don't need my help to bring down Victor. And when they do, then I will write an editorial that'll bury the bastard.
Victor: Do you want me to go to her?
Ashley: Yes, I want you to go to her, and I want you to reassure her that she still has her father. Please.
Victor: I remember the first time she came to me wanting money for that ridiculous reality show, and I quickly said no.
Ashley: Victor, I know she wanted to do it because she wanted to make you proud of her.
Victor: By showing up naked all over town?
Ashley: (Laughs)
Victor: I mean, come on. (Chuckles)
Ashley: (Laughs) I know. Okay, she was young, and she was naive and stupid, and she went about it all the wrong ways. But I still say she was trying to impress you. She wanted to make you proud.
Victor: (Laughing) God, I remember when she came into that dining room naked on horseback, for heaven's sake. But I gotta tell you, as ridiculous I thought her antics were, I admire her spunk, her passion, her drive. It reminded me of me when I was young.
Ashley: I know Abby started this whole court mess. The last thing she ever wanted, the last thing, was to be estranged from you. And I know that you don't want that.
Victor: (Sighs) I don't. And to be honest with you, it feels like a piece of me is missing.
Ashley: Victor, because you need her, too, you know? As much as she needs you.
Nikki: If you succeed in getting your trust funds, that's only gonna be the beginning. Newman Enterprises will be in a shambles. The entire family will be ruined. And I don't even want to think about what it would do to your father.
Victoria: Why do you even care after the way he's treated you for the last few years?
Nick: Yeah, he's a bully.
Nikki: I know. I know how vengeful he can be.
Victoria: Well, then how can you condone it?
Nikki: I don't condone it. I am just telling you if this continues, it's gonna be an all-out war. And when the dust settles, you are not going to like what you see. None of this would have happened if I hadn't have been drinking.
Nick: Mom, don't.
Nikki: No, it's true.
Victoria: (Sighs)
Nikki: I wasn't there for you when this whole lawsuit thing started to escalate. I let you down. But I am here now, and I am willing to do anything I have to.
Victoria: Mom, there's nothing you can do, all right? Too much has happened.
Nikki: (Sighs) I realize, painfully, that your relationships with your father may never be the same. But to completely dismantle what he has worked for his entire life? There is no coming back from that. Son, if you want to quit Newman, do it. And, Honey, if you want to go back to Italy like you did the last time your father pushed you too far, I wouldn't stand in your way. Anything is better than this.
Victoria: No. Mom, I-I'm not-- I'm not running away to anywhere because it--it doesn't matter where we go. Dad's gonna find a way to ruin our lives.
Nick: If anybody understands that, it is you. For the longest time, I could never figure out why my parents just couldn't stay together. Well, now I get it. I know why you had to break free, Mom. Now it's our turn.
Nikki: (Sighs)
Ashley: It was lousy, what you did to Abby.
Michael: Excuse me?
Ashley: Using Brad's memory to scare her into dropping the lawsuit? Nice going.
Michael: I might have pushed the envelope, but she needed to hear it.
Ashley: Oh, she needed to hear it? You don't give a damn about Abby. You just want to get another victory under your belt, and you know it.
Michael: Believe what you want. I know from experience that losing a father or, in my case, misplacing one, leaves scars. Come to think of it, you know that, too.
(Doorbell rings)
Abby: Go away.
(Door opens)
Victor: (Sighs)
Abby: Dad?
Victor: Come here, Baby. Come here.
Abby: (Sobs)
Victor: How did we let it get this far, hmm?
Abby: I don't know. (Sobs)
Victor: I don't want you to worry, okay? Daddy's here now.
Abby: (Sobs)
Chloe: Chance, I didn't mean what I said to you before.
Chance: Chloe, it doesn't matter, because once this trial is over, I'm gonna go back into witness protection service. And as far as the world is concerned, Phillip Chancellor IV is still gone.
Heather: You expect me to just erase the past couple weeks?
Chance: You have to, because that is what's best.
Heather: It's not best for me.
Chloe: Well, I wish I could go back and erase all of that before you were resurrected. But you came back, and everything brought up everything-- everything with Heather, and how much I hated you for getting yourself killed, and how crazy we were about each other.
Chance: That's nice, but obviously, I didn't love you enough. Otherwise, I wouldn't have cheated on you.
Chloe: (Chuckles)
Chance: And if we're being completely honest, you and I, we never really got off the ground, so it's no big loss now, is it?
Heather: No big loss? (Scoffs)
Chance: Here's how it's gonna go-- I'm gonna keep to myself until the trial, and you two can live your lives just as you have been.
Heather: Okay, if that's what you want, then you got it. (Scoffs)
Chloe: What happened to you? You are not the Chance that I knew.
Chloe: (Sighs) Oh, my God. Kevin. What are you doing here?
Kevin: I, uh, thought I'd surprise you. Isn't that Chance's room?
Chloe: Uh, yeah. Yeah.
Kevin: Oh. What are you doin' in there?
Jana: Hello. It's your new nanny reporting for duty.
Billy: Hey, Jana.
Jana: (Sighs) It's gettin' a bit windy out there.
Billy: Yeah. Hey, I'm just finishing up here, and then we'll get you all set in your new digs, o-- digs, okay?
Jana: Brilliant.
Billy: Okay. Um, you know, uh, Delia was psyched to find out that "Miss Jana" was gonna be there when she visits.
Jana: Really?
Billy: Yep, yep, yep, yep.
Jana: What a dear.
Billy: Okay, all set. (Clears throat) You ready?
Jana: (Sighs) Oh, I can't wait. You have no idea how important this is to me, Billy.
Chloe: I, uh, was just-- I was just looking for a photo for--for Nina. I couldn't find it.
Kevin: Oh, all right. So get this-- Jana moved out this morning.
Chloe: Oh, that's great-- that's great. That's great.
Kevin: Well, don't get too excited.
Chloe: No, I-I am so excited. Uh, I just--you know what? I'm really crazy in here. I just--I just need to get out of the house.
Kevin: Great. Let's get some food and celebrate.
Chloe: Okay, yeah. Come on.
Abby: Oh, God. I don't, um, I don't think you're supposed to be here.
Victor: Sweetheart, your mom told me how depressed you were. I'm worried about you.
Abby: (Sighs) I just feel like this lawsuit is never gonna end.
Victor: Don't you understand that all I ever wanted to do was protect you, make sure that you and your sister and your brother don't go down the wrong path? Trust me, if I could, I'd do this whole thing again.
Abby: (Sighs) See? Me, too.
Victor: Well, then why don't we do that? Let's stop all this nonsense. You and I once were so close. We could be again. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Abby: Yeah.
Victor: Hmm? Come here.
Abby: Yeah.
Abby: (Sighs)
Victor: (Sighs) Just know that my settlement offer still stands, all right?
Abby: Okay.
Victor: I love you.
Abby: I love you.
Victor: I love you with all my heart, okay?
Abby: I love you. Okay.
Abby: (Exhales slowly)
Nikki: What happened between your father and me was very different.
Nick: How?
Nikki: I didn't set out to ruin him.
Nick: Well, I wouldn't blame you if you did.
Victoria: Besides, that's not what we're doing here.
Nikki: Maybe your father is just too stubborn to change. He probably is. But, Honey, I know you. You're better than that. You can fix this. Please, please, do it for me.
Victoria: Mom, I'm sorry. I can't.
Nikki: (Sighs) Nicholas?
Nick: Mom, you know I would do anything for you. But I can't do this. I'm in it to the end.
(Door slams)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Daniel: I know where-- where Daisy-- I know where my baby is.
Neil: I think you're beautiful.
Nick: Wait a second. Wait. Wait a second.
Phyllis: (Sighs)
