Episode # 9580 ~ Cane Tries to Stop Jill's Wedding
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Neil: Can't I at least heat you up a little bowl of soup or something?
Lily: The second I'm hungry, I will let you know.
Neil: Okay. Mm. (Groans) Yeah. Been a rough 24 hours, hasn't it?
Lily: (Sighs) Thank you for letting me and the twins stay here. I couldn't even think of being in that house after Cane left.
Neil: Lily, this will always be your home.
Lily: I know that. I appreciate it all the same.
Neil: The twins are napping. Why don't you try to shut your eyes and get a little bit of rest?
Lily: (Scoffs) I wish I could, but every time I try to, my mind just won’t shut off. Plus the babies' schedules are all messed up and...
Neil: Yeah, that's because they're not in their own room, right? It's gonna take some getting used to.
Lily: Yeah, they're probably wondering where their dad is and why their mom is so upset. (Sighs) And to watch Cane say good-bye to them... I completely broke down after he left. And I still don't know if it's because I'm so hurt and confused or... (Sighs) If I wish I hadn't made him leave.
Cane: (Sighs)
Kay: Well, I'm glad you called. So last night-- how did your talk go with Lily?
Cane: Mm. Not as well as I had hoped.
Kay: Well, I'm sorry, Darling, about that.
Cane: Yeah. It's, uh, it's okay. You know, I caused her too much pain. It's my fault. It was hard to say good-bye to the babies and her. You know that? But, hey, Neil and Malcolm will take good care of them, you know?
Kay: Do you think maybe if... (Sighs) Well, if, you, uh, well, sit down. Sit down.
Cane: I don't know. (Sighs)
Kay: If you should give, uh, Lily time to think, perhaps she might, uh, listen to you again?
Cane: What, I'll have another chance? That's what I'm holding on to.
Kay: Where'd you stay last night?
Cane: I went to a hotel.
Kay: You always-- you can always stay here.
Cane: No, no. I-I can't do that. I can't stand the idea of seeing Jill and Colin together.
Kay: Oh, well... (Chuckles) Uh, I fear Jill moved in with Colin last evening.
Cane: (Sighs)
Kay: Said she would return at some given point with her new husband.
Cane: (Sighs)
Kay: God spare us all. (Chuckles)
Cane: Yeah, that's, uh, that's disastrous news, isn't it?
Kay: All right, I'm-- I'm sick of talking about Jill. I want to hear more about last night. Now... now Lily-- did you tell her what you had been keeping from her? (Stammers) And were you-- were you honest with her?
Cane: No, no, I wasn’t.
Kay: On, Cane. Cane.
Cane: I don't think I can be, Katherine. I think it'd make things worse.
Kay: What, for you?
Cane: No, for everyone. And I sure s hell am not gonna let that happen.
Sofia: Baby, I don't think I've ever seen you this upset before.
Malcolm: Yeah, well, I've never had a homicidal maniac try to run my woman down before, either.
Sofia: We don't know if it was Blake on that motorcycle, Malcolm.
Malcolm: Well, I know all I need to know about that scum. I know he better lay low and pray I don't find him. Better yet, get the hell outta town. That's what he better do.
Sofia: (Sighs)
Blake: You haven't returned any of my calls. (Sighs) Listen, Mate, I know you're furious at me. I really messed up attacking Sofia. I know that, but if you give me a chance, I'll fix it. (Sighs) I've never said no to you or turned down a chance to prove my loyalty to you, Colin. You know that. (Sighs) Anyway, you said to go home, and I will. I'll wait in Brisbane for your instructions, but I will find a way to restore your faith in me, Colin, even if it takes the rest of my life.
Colin: (Sighs)
Colin: Well, you must be Reverend Scott. We spoke on the phone. I'm Colin Atkinson.
Reverend Scott: I'm very pleased to meet you. Shall we go over the details for your wedding this evening?
Colin: Well, the florist should be arriving shortly, and as for the ceremony, well...
Reverend Scott: The more you tell me about yourself and your bride, the more I can try to personalize things.
Colin: I want to thank you for doing this at such-- such short notice.
Reverend Scott: (Chuckles) I understand. True love doesn't like to wait.
Colin: Agreed. You know, I-I looked at Jill last night, and I thought, I just gotta marry you as soon as possible.
Billy: Sorry we couldn't get together earlier. The day just kind of got away from me.
Jill: Yeah. How's my newest little granddaughter?
Billy: She is growing like crazy.
Jill: (Chuckles)
Billy: Vicky and I are glad you were able to come see her.
Jill: Yeah, I was, too.
Billy: (Clears throat)
Jill: I was, too. Um, the thing is, it was such a momentous occasion, I didn't want to talk about myself, but I would like to speak to you about something. I told you that I've been seeing someone.
Billy: Mm-hmm. Yeah, you mentioned that.
Jill: Mm-hmm.
Billy: Didn't say much about him, but it looked like you were having fun.
Jill: Uh, well, Colin and I are kind of past the "Fun" stage. It's really serious, Billy. In fact, it's so serious that we're getting married tonight at the First United Church, and we would love it if you could be there.
Billy: (Sighs) You're--wow. I mean, when did you get engaged? Do you even have a ring?
Jill: Sweetheart... (Sighs) He proposed to me a couple of days ago, and last night, we just decided to pull the trigger and elope, except we don't want to go anywhere. W-we didn't want a big wedding.
Billy: Mom?
Jill: Hmm?
Billy: This... you practically just met this guy. This is crazy.
Jill: Oh, my God, Honey, sometimes in life, you meet somebody, and you both just know it's right, okay? That's the way it was with me and Colin. I mean, it just kind of clicked the moment we saw each other.
Billy: Oh, you clicked?
Jill: Yeah.
Billy: Well, excuse me. I'm sorry. You're right. You must be soul mates. Why don't we go get some rice?
Jill: Oh, for God sake, how hypocritical can you be? What about you and Victoria? Didn't you get loaded and go to Jamaica and then get married and then find out it was invalid?
Billy: Yes, we made that legal. What is your point?
Jill: (Sighs) My point is, this is just... (Scoffs) It's crazy that you would mock me about getting married after a whirlwind romance.
Billy: How many years have I known Victoria? And how many seconds have you known... what is this guy's name even? I... (Scoffs)
Jill: Billy, Billy, Billy, please. Just try to be open-minded. Just say that you will meet him before the ceremony.
Billy: Oh, fine. I'll sure meet him. Call him.
Jill: Good. Okay.
Billy: Where is he?
Jill: He's at the church. He's talking to the minister. (Sighs)
Sofia: (Sighs) I am really looking forward to spending some time with Lily. I mean, you don't realize how many hours there are in a day when you don't have a job. (Winces)
Malcolm: Yeah, well, you know, Baby, when you have this kind of time, you ought to take advantage of it. You know, um, no more promising about gettin' together. We gotta make it happen. Lily really needs her family right now--all of us.
Sofia: Well, fortunately for her, you and your brother have been gettin' along lately.
Malcolm: Yeah, yeah. You know, it's cool. I'm not planning on starting anything with Neil, but, um, I'm not gonna be standing down anymore. I owe it to Lily to be there for her right now. And if Neil's got an issue with that, then that's his problem.
Sofia: Well, good for you. (Chuckles) You know, I'm really feeling this energy right now, Baby. Maybe it'll start me gettin' back movin' again, you know?
Malcolm: I know how difficult it's been for you since you got fired.
Sofia: And now I have to get back the salary we paid James Collier before Tucker nails me with embezzlement. I mean, I've pulled off some pretty good stuff in my day, but recovering that much money from a bunch of crooks?
Malcolm: No, Baby, just one crook-- that S.O.B. Blake. And when I catch up with dude, trust me, there's gonna be a reckoning.
Lily: The only thing that I know for sure is that Cane loves me, and he wants to have a life with me and the babies. So it's like, why couldn't he trust me enough to tell me about his past? I mean, e-even now, I can tell that he's hiding something I can see it in his eyes.
Neil: More secrets, huh? That ought to make your decision easier.
Lily: Yeah, it should, but it doesn’t. It's not that simple, Dad. I can't just forget everything that we've been through together in the last four years. I mean, Cane pretended to be this man that doesn't even exist because he was so ashamed of who he was and the life that he used to live.
Neil: Now, Honey--
Lily: And I believed in him so much.
Neil: (Sighs) I know. It must have been a shock finding out how wrong you were.
Lily: And now I'm in this terrible position of having to keep my children from their father. I'm just scared, Dad, you know?
Neil: I know. I know.
Lily: Is this what my life is gonna be like-- endless nights of being alone when all I want to do is hear his voice?
Neil: Yeah, I know. I know. You're gonna be fine.
Lily: (Sighs)
Neil: You'll be okay, Honey.
Kay: Darling, I know you have this great guilt, but hiding the truth, living in fear, my God, that is no solution.
Cane: Katherine, the people in my old crew, I know what they want, and I know I can deal with these people.
Kay: How do you know that?
Cane: 'Cause they told me.
Kay: Oh?
Cane: I mean, anyone who-- who has done what I have done, break a code of silence like that, go to the authorities and cost the organization millions would be killed. I mean, the fact they haven't killed me means they want to negotiate. It means that I have grounds to resolve this so the people I love will stay safe.
Kay: Well, uh... (Stammers) In that case--if that--
Cane: Wh-which... (Stammers) I believe it's--it's why I can't--I can't-- I can't antagonize these people. So the secrets I have left remain secrets. That's the problem.
Kay: All right, now, I-- I want you to listen to me, and I want you to listen to me well. Perhaps if you would just rely on the people--your family...
Cane: (Sighs)
Kay: (Stammers) And the powerful people you've--you've--you've met and you've made-- even the people who are angry with you now, I-I--they would stand shoulder-to-shoulder to help you bring down these criminals. And I promise you, Darling, I promise you, if you simply put the faith-- your faith-- in the people you love, that's the day you will break free...
Cane: (Sighs)
Kay: And the woman who loves you most--come on.
Cane: Lily. Lily.
Kay: Lily, yes, of course. Tell her the truth. All of it. Don't you understand she's your strongest ally? Hmm?
Cane: Do you know how much I love you?
Kay: Yes, I do. (Chuckles)
Cane: I hate to run out on you like this.
Kay: Oh.
Cane: There's someone I have to go and see. Is that okay?
Kay: Good.
Neil: Hey, you're putting too much pressure on yourself. You just got hit with all of this yesterday.
Lily: (Sighs)
(Doorbell rings)
Neil: Do me a favor-- just give yourself some time before you make any decisions, all right?
Malcolm: Hey.
Neil: Hi, Guys.
Sofia: Hey.
Malcolm: (Sighs) How's Lily?
Neil: Um, see for yourself. Come on in. Come on.
Lily: Hi.
Sofia: Hey.
Malcolm: You okay? What am I saying? Of course you're not okay.
Lily: It's good to see you guys.
Sofia: Well, we didn't want to crowd you. We wanted to give you some time before we checked in.
Lily: What happened to your hand?
Sofia: Oh. (Sighs)
Malcolm: That's partly why we're here--we want to tell you what happened.
Sofia: Well, Lily, last night, s-someone almost hit me with a motorcycle.
Lily: Oh, my gosh. Wh...
Sofia: When I saw him coming at me, I dove out of the way.
Neil: Has there been any word?
Malcolm: No, the police are still investigating.
Lily: Well, if it was an accident... or wait. Are you saying that it wasn't?
Sofia: Well, we don't know.
Malcolm: I'm not buyin' for a second that it was a complete stranger. Sofia and Blake exchanged words, and then this happened.
Neil: Yeah, we, uh, we have a feeling that it was Blake trying to get back at her.
Malcolm: (Sighs)
Blake: Uh, yeah, hi. I need a ticket to Brisbane, Australia. Uh, f-first flight in the morning. Blake Joseph. Uh, one-way.
Jill: Billy, this is Colin Atkinson. Colin, my son Billy.
Colin: I've heard a lot about you. Pleasure.
Billy: Wish I could say the same.
Jill: (Sighs)
Colin: Oh. Well, I understand. There's a lot to absorb here.
Jill: Yes, and since you're so good at rolling with the punches...
Billy: Hey, Mom, do you mind if Colin and I have a word alone, please?
Jill: Hmm. No, Darling. As a matter of fact-- mmm-- I'll see if I can slip in a manicure before the ceremony. Bye.
Colin: Bye. Your mum's a wonderful woman, and I'm a lucky man.
Billy: Mm. So wonderful that you're willing to put up a lifetime commitment. That's a lifetime, as in forever. What's that all about?
Colin: We're in love. We want to be together.
Billy: Oh, great. Perfect. Then get a place and live in sin. What's the rush to get my mom's signature on a marriage license?
Colin: You see, Billy, the older you get in life, the more you want out of it, and as far as I'm concerned, I want what I see right now.
Billy: As long as what you want is my mother and not her bank account or her business connections.
Colin: My life's an open book. Ask away.
Billy: (Clears throat)
Cane: Lily? Lily? Can you come out? Baby, I didn't call, 'cause there's som-- something I have to say. I want-- Lily?
Cane: (Sighs heavily)
Cane: (Thinking) "Dear Lily, I wanted to tell you all this in person, but you're not here. Last night when you asked if there were any more secrets, I couldn't bring myself to answer you. I realize now I owe this to you. I need to tell you my very last secret, the entire truth about myself and my father." (Sighs)
Malcolm: Look, Cane can promise all day that the threat is gone and that you and the kids are safe, okay? But when somebody tries to run my baby down on a motorcycle, all bets are off.
Neil: Lily, Cane forfeited his right to take care of you, all right? And we gonna be doin' that from now on.
Sofia: I know its hard thinking about a future without your husband, but, Lily, there are limits.
Neil: The people he associated with in Australia-- they have long memories and lots of muscle, all right? He must have known there was a serious threat, or he wouldn't have given in to their blackmail.
Malcolm: (Stammers) (Sighs) Lily, you--you need to close the door a-and never look back, Baby. Don't look back.
Lily: Okay, y-you know what? I get what you guys are saying. I do. But the person that I'm worried about is Cane, because if Blake is after anybody, it's gonna be him, and he's out there facing this by himself.
Malcolm: As he should be.
Lily: Okay, you know, it's not that simple.
Babies: (Fussing)
Malcolm: (Sighs) Lily, look, we're your family, okay? And if you and the twins are in danger, then we're gonna face it head-on. We'll deal with the threat together.
Lily: Cane fought to save my life, and he is the twins' father. Right or wrong, I will not leave him out there to get hurt.
Sofia: Honey, all we are saying is that maybe--
Lily: Okay, you know what? No. Stop. I'm taking Charlie and Mattie back to our place. I think that's best for us right now.
Neil: Lily?
Malcolm: (Sighs)
Sofia: (Scoffs)
Neil: (Sighs)
(Cell phone alert chimes)
Colin: And I hope that gives you a broad picture of how successful I've been in my own right. I also think you should know that I've done time for tax evasion. I was a typical businessman who's tried to beat the system. I got caught for it. But having put that behind me, I now want to work on establishing my reputation.
Billy: Oh, so I have nothing to worry about then, right?
Colin: (Sighs) If I was you, I'd be skeptical, too. But there's one thing you don't have to worry about. I am genuine in my love for Jill. For that reason, I want to marry her tonight and spend the rest of my life making her happy.
(Footsteps approach)
Jill: Mission accomplished. Hi. How have you two been getting along?
Colin: (Clears throat) Well, Billy's had a few questions that I've tried to answer.
Billy: Yeah. (Sighs)
Jill: So, Honey, are you feeling a little better about the ceremony? It'd mean so much to me if you were there.
Colin: To both of us.
Billy: Man, you are good. You know just what to say and when to say it. But I gotta tell you, there's a little voice in the back of my head and he's saying, "Something's not right here," and he's pointing right at you.
Colin: What else can I say that's gonna reassure you?
Billy: You could say that you would put off the wedding for a while until I got to know you a whole lot better.
Colin: I'm not prepared to do that. We've made arrangements. Your mother and I are gonna get married tonight.
Billy: If you really cared about my mother, you would do that.
Jill: Billy, stop this. I never expected this from you, for you to be so judgmental, so negative. You're just like all the rest of them.
Billy: All the rest of them? Oh, is that why you finally came to me? You're not eloping because you don't want a big marriage. You're eloping because you let everybody else know and no one supported this marriage, and you wouldn't have any guests.
Jill: (Sighs)
Billy: Mom, nobody who loves you wants to watch you make the worst mistake of your life, and there's a lot of people who love you, Mom. Maybe you should think about their message.
Billy: (Clears throat)
(Cell phone rings)
Cane: (Sighs) Yeah?
Billy: Yeah, well, I just met this Colin guy. Apparently I'm the last to find out about their big engagement news.
Cane: Well, I only found out about the whole thing myself the other day.
Billy: Yeah, well, someone should have told me.
Cane: (Sighs) I've been dealing with a bunch of stuff, okay? Uh, I agree with you. Someone should have told you. I should have thought of it. I'm sorry.
Billy: I get the feeling no one really likes this guy.
Cane: Let me just say the whole relationship is a colossal mistake.
Billy: Oh, yeah? Well, it's about to get a whole lot worse. She's marrying him tonight-- First United Church.
Cane: Um, all right, Man. Thanks, uh, I gotta go, all right? Damn it! (Sighs)
Colin: I'm sorry that, uh, things went so badly for you and your son.
Jill: I was hoping that somebody I loved would be there to stand up for me. But I guess the witnesses that the minister will bring will have to do.
(Cell phone rings) (Ringing stops)
Colin: (Sighs) I just don't like seeing you hurt all over again.
Jill: It's my own fault, you know? I just expect too much of Billy. (Sighs) I just never thought that he--
(Cell phone rings)
Jill: Go ahead. Get it. It's okay. It's okay.
(Ring)
Colin: Hello?
Cane: I know about the wedding, and you are not gonna go through with this. I will not allow it!
Colin: Please. Look. (Sighs) Don't do this. I kn-know a lot of things have been said by you and I-- stuff that we didn't mean. But you're my son. I-I want you to be part of my life.
Cane: What, you think threatening the people I love is the way you're going to accomplish that? Is that what you think?
Colin: I apologize for that. You and I have both said a lot of things. (Sighs) You ever thought that there was a reason for that? That's because we're both bullheaded. We're much more alike than--than you--
Cane: We are nothing alike, and you will stop this wedding, or I will go to Jill, and I will tell everyone exactly who you are. Do you understand me?
Colin: You tried to play that card once before. It's too risky.
Cane: But you're now the one with everything to lose, 'cause you're no longer at home. You're out of your league here, Son. So when I go and tell everyone the truth, you're gonna be the one with the tiger on your back. You'll have the Winters, the Fenmores, the Abbotts, Tucker McCall, and Katherine Chancellor comin' after you with everything they've got. Now let me ask a question-- is that what you want? Are you gonna take them on? Really? 'Cause we're about to find out, aren't we?
(Cell phone battery dies)
Cane: Damn!
(Cell phone rings once)
Cane: You've reached Cane. I can't take your call right now, so please leave a message.
Lily: Cane, it's--it's me. Listen, I have to talk to you, and I don't want to wait. So call me when you get this, okay? I'm just gonna be out trying to track you down. (Sighs)
Billy: Hey, oh, bad time?
Kay: Uh, oh, God, no. Nothing that can't wait. Come in. Come in. It's freezing out there.
Billy: It is a little cold. (Chuckles)
Kay: (Shivers) How are you?
Billy: Okay. You?
(Cell phone rings)
Kay: Oh, pardon me. Just a minute. (Sighs) Yes? Hello. Hello, hello. Katherine here.
Lily: Hey, it's Lily. Um, have you heard from Cane?
Kay: Well, yes, he was here, but he just left. I-I believe he was hoping to see you and the twins. (Stammers) Just a moment. Billy's here. He wants to talk to you. Okay.
Billy: Hey. I talked to Cane. I told him about Mom and Colin getting married tonight.
Kay: Married tonight?
Billy: Mm-hmm.
Kay: Where?
Billy: First United Church.
Lily: Well, what did he say?
Billy: Well, he sounded plenty pissed. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't on his way over there to talk some sense into Mom.
Lily: Okay, well, I'm not far from the church, so I'm just gonna head there first.
Billy: Okay, good luck. (Clicks lips)
Kay: What in God's green earth could she be thinking?!
Billy: That's the problem. She's not thinking. This guy, though, Colin, he is as smooth as they come. He's got her so snowed that she doesn't even care that her entire family is against this.
Colin: (Clears throat)
Jill: Wow. Whoever that was oh the phone, I can see it upset you.
Colin: It was-- it was just some business.
Jill: I wish that Billy hadn't been so narrow-minded. I expected him to be angry, but he was so rude to you. I'm sorry.
Colin: (Sighs) Well, when people see how happy we are, they'll reconsider. It's just gonna take a bit of time.
Jill: I hope you're right, Honey.
Colin: (Sighs) You're not reconsidering, are you?
Jill: What, marrying you?
Colin: Uh-huh.
Jill: (Chuckles) No. No, no. Not on your life. It's just my damn family has no faith in me. It--they're always finding fault with me. The hell with them. I don't care what they think. I've got you. That's all I need.
Colin: Those are the sweetest words I've ever heard.
Jill: (Chuckles) You know, we really should be going if we don't want to be late to the church, and I've gotta change.
Colin: Mm, I'm gonna meet you there. I gotta stop by the jewelers and pick up a couple of rings.
Jill: (Sighs) Oh. (Sighs)
Cane: (Thinking) I hope to hear from you soon, Sweetheart. With all my love forever, Cane."
Cane: Jill, it's me. I'm on my way to the church, okay? If you get this message, I'm gonna keep trying to reach you. Whatever you do, for the love of God, please do not go ahead with this wedding. I have something to tell you, and it's gonna change everything.
Billy: And after I said all that, I left. I just couldn't stand to be around the guy.
Kay: Oh, come on, Bill. I never trusted Colin from the day I met him. Neither did Murphy or Cane.
Billy: Well, you must have said something to Mom.
Kay: (Chuckles) I said a lot of "Somethings." But, uh, oh, God. Nothing penetrated. The more I would say something, the more she would become defensive. I hate to tell you this, but, um, your mother is her own worst enemy. Shoots herself in the foot every time she turns around. I highly doubt anything that any of us could say to her would stop her.
(Door opens)
Blake: I know you said to leave last night, but all the flights were booked.
Colin: Hey, I have one more job for you. And if you want a shot at a nice, quiet life without a price on your head, you won't screw up.
Blake: Sure. Anything you want.
Colin: Cane's found out about my wedding, and he's kind of worked up about it. I need to be able to marry Jill tonight, and whisk her off to a honeymoon without any interruptions. I need you to stop Cane from getting into that church and disrupting the ceremony.
Blake: All right, done. But--
Colin: But? But what?
Blake: Marrying Jill's not gonna change anything, Colin. Look, Cane is never gonna be a son to you. He's never gonna let you anywhere near the twins. But I can make it happen.
Colin: How?
Blake: Through Lily.
Colin: (Scoffs) She hates you.
Blake: Oh, come on. I can get close to her again. I can, so you can get closer to your grandkids, Colin. Listen, you give me the word, and I will make sure Cane is out of the way permanently. I'll see to it.
Colin: I'll take care of my son in my own way. (Scoffs) You just stop him from getting into the church. If you do anything stupid, I swear, I'm gonna make you regret it.
Neil: Okay, no answer at Lily’s. You know something? I'm gonna try her cell. She should have been home by now.
Malcolm: That's exactly why she shouldn't have left.
Sofia: Well, maybe she just went somewhere else, Honey.
Neil: Lily, I-it's--its Dad. Uh, where are you?
Lily: Uh, I'm at First United Church. I think Cane might be on his way here, and I have to talk to him.
Neil: You know, I really don't think that's a good idea.
Lily: This is not up for debate, Dad, okay? He's my husband, and I'm gonna see him. I'll talk to you later.
Neil: Wait. Uh, Lily? Wai-- (Groans) Okay, Lily's over at First United Church lookin' for Cane.
Malcolm: All right, come on. Let's go.
Neil: No, wait. Wait. Hold on. Why don't you go to Lily's place? I'm gonna go to the church. They may have left already. I don't want her alone with that guy.
Malcolm: All right. Right. All right. We'll keep our eye out for Blake, too. He better not show his face. It's on. Bye, Bro.
Lily: Won't it be nice to see your daddy? I'm hoping that he'll be here really soon, okay? Yeah. Okay. (Sighs)
Jill: Oh, Lily.
Lily: Hi. You look-- you look pretty.
Jill: Thank you.
Lily: Um, so I heard that Cane might be on his way here.
Jill: Oh, that's such good news.
Lily: Well--well--I-I-- don't get your hopes up. I don't know if he's changed his mind about the wedding.
Jill: (Sighs)
Lily: But I have to talk to him, and so I'm gonna do my best to stop him from disrupting the ceremony.
Jill: I feel so cut off from both my boys, Lily.
Lily: I know. It must be so hard for you. Listen, I know it's hard for Cane, too.
Jill: So... (Sighs) How do things stand between the two of you?
Lily: Um, well, I-I told him to leave last night and that we were finished.
Jill: (Sighs)
Lily: But, you know, as Cane said, we've overcome so much together, and I can't just walk away now.
Jill: Oh, good. That means you might be able to forgive him?
Lily: I'm gonna try. I love him so much. And these little babies here, they need their daddy. (Sighs)
Jill: (Chuckles)
Lily: So, you know, I want Cane to come home, and as soon as I realized that, I had to see him. And as for all the Blake stuff, we'll figure that out later.
Jill: Well, this is wonderful news. This is the best wedding gift you could ever give me.
Lily: (Chuckles)
Jill: (Sighs) Hi, Sweetie.
Colin: Well, hi there.
Lily: Hi, Colin.
Colin: Uh, I'm surprised to see you. But you and the kids are more than welcome.
Lily: (Chuckles)
Jill: Actually, she's waiting for Cane. He's on his way here.
Lily: Well, I-I'm hoping he'll be here.
Reverend Scott: If the bride and groom are ready to begin...
Jill: Mm, I'm ready if you are.
Colin: I certainly hope that you two can work things out. I'd love it if you could talk him into staying for the wedding.
Blake: Whatever you're thinkin', Mate, forget it.
Cane: Move aside. I'm goin' in.
Kay: I promise you this-- nothing good will ever come of this marriage.
Reverend Scott: And, Jill, do you promise to keep thee only unto him as long as you both shall live?
Jill: I do.
("Ebben, Ne Andro Lontana" continues)
Colin: With this ring, I thee wed.
Lily: Cane!
Reverend Scott: I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.
(Gunshot)
("Ebben, Ne Andro Lontana" continues)
Lily: (Screams) Oh, my God! (Wails)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Malcolm: If we gonna get married, we need to be able to trust each other.
Sofia: You don't trust me anymore?
Billy: By now, Mom and Colin are married, probably celebrating their little hearts out.
Jill: Stay with us. No. You're gonna be fine. You're gonna be fine, Cane!
Lily: (Sobs) I love you.
