Adam: None. It never happened, remember? And I never tracked down the accounts. I never acquired any funds. Thanks a lot, Dad.

Jack: Fine, you don't want to talk hard numbers? Fine. Until you transfer major capital into the Newman fund, you will not have access to the fund's account.

Adam: (Inhales) (Sighs) But we're partners, Jack, just like we are with Sharon and Phyllis in proving Sharon's innocence.

Jack: Yeah, we're besties. Right.

Adam: And we're gonna make a killing.

Jack: And make sure Victor gets what's coming to him.

Adam: Sounds good to me.

Victor: By the way, did you get a list of the assets I sent you?

Nick: Uh, sorry. I'm just a little distracted. I can't stop thinking about Faith being with Sharon, 'cause that means she's probably with Adam, too.

Victor: (Sighs) I can make a call, Son, and see to it that you get Faith full-time.

Nick: Sharon's gonna lose custody all on her own. Murder one charges should be enough to get a judge to reverse her order.

Michael: (Sighs) Aha, Gentlemen. I've just come from Judge Wilkerson's chambers. Given the change in Sharon's circumstances, she has agreed to revisit custody right away.

Sharon: Hello?

Leslie: Sharon, its Leslie. Judge Wilkerson just got in touch with me. Apparently, Michael Baldwin filed a motion on behalf of your ex-husband asking for full custody of Faith.

Sharon: So Nick did file.

Leslie: Yes, and the judge is ready to roll on it right now.

Sharon: So soon? Well, I'm--I'm gonna have to find someone who can sit with Faith.

Leslie: Actually, the judge wants you to bring her.

Sharon: Bring Faith in case the judge rules in Nick's favor?

Leslie: Yeah, chances are you and your daughter will go right back home again.

Sharon: Yeah.

Faith: (Babbles)

Sharon: Yeah, you know what? You're--you're right. You're right, because I have to believe that. Faith and I belong together.

Sofia: (Sighs)

Sofia: I don't expect you to give me my job back. But if you're ready to listen, I'm ready to explain why I covered for Cane about Blake.

Tucker: We're not buddies, Sofia. You're here because I'm going to give you the last orders you're ever gonna get from me, and you will follow them carefully. You will clean up this mess or go to jail. Your choice.

Colin: (Sighs) Bourbon. What kind of a game are you trying to play? I understand you got a call saying Tucker's on to you. Those two are probably talking about Blake the thief right now.

Blake: No, no, no, no, no. Cane did the stealing. He was the one who got me the job at McCall. He was the one who created James Collier. He was the one that got me that hefty paycheck. I just smiled and shook hands.

Colin: Your job is to follow orders, nothing else. So right now, you crawl into a hole somewhere, while I take care of this mess. Now get outta here.

Jill: Sweetheart, what's wrong?

Cane: I-I-I need to talk to both of you, okay?

Kay: Yes. Yes, of course.

Jill: Is it Lily? Is it the babies?

Cane: No, no, no. They're fine.

Jill: Oh, my God, that's all that matters. Whatever else it could be, we'll deal with it.

Neil: Wow, that was fast. Hey.

Malcolm: Hey.

Neil: Where is he? Where's Cane?

Lily: He's not here.

Neil: I just spoke to Sofia. She said that he's being blackmailed by a crime family. And, Honey, all right, right now, we need to get some details.

Malcolm: Yeah, 'cause they're not gettin' near you or the babies. I can't believe he put you in danger.

Lily: No, I-I'm not in-- in danger. Or that--that's what Cane said.

Neil: Okay. All right, then, Honey, tell me where he is.

Lily: I don't know, okay? I-I-I told him to leave, and he left. I don't know where he is.

Neil: Did he tell you everything? Extortion? Blake? This whole syndicate back in Australia?

Lily: Yes, he told me everything, just like he always does. He confesses, and then I forgive him, and then its lies. It's just more and more lies.

Jack: Well, how about that, Junior? You told the truth. A big, fat transfer was just made to the Newman fund. Now I can make some serious trades.

Adam: "I" can make some serious trades? What about "We," Jack? You've got a partner.

Jack: You were smart enough to let Skye call the shots. Don't start changing things now.

Adam: And you are no Skye, Jack.

Jack: No, I certainly am not. She had the touch. She knew just when to buy and sell. She made profits that... look, I'm good. She was great.

Adam: She was great. It was like poker to her. She knew the odds, gathered information.

Jack: She also appears to have had an advisor-- David Pelson, Pelson, Stefano and Belford. That sound familiar? I found regular deposits made to his account from the fund.

Adam: Pelson? How do I know this guy? Pelson...

Jack: I got someone lookin' into it. He's gonna get back to me.

(Cell phone rings)

Adam: Hi. You okay?

Sharon: Yeah. Um, I'm at the courthouse. The judge is about to rule on Nick's custody appeal.

Adam: Already?

Sharon: I need you here. How soon can you be here?

Adam: If the judge looks out at the gallery and sees me, Sharon, I-- I don't think that's gonna help your case any. There is nobody out there that loves their child more than you love Faith. This murder case-- it is just smoke and mirrors. That's all it is. It--you're gonna get Faith back, okay?

Sharon: Yeah, okay. You know what? You're right. Thank you.

Adam: Will you call me, Hon, when it's over?

Sharon: I will. Okay, bye.

Nick: I'm surprised you left Adam at home.

Leslie: The judge is ready.

Faith: (Babbles)

Sharon: Um, well, where's the social worker? I-I don't want to bring Faith in there.

Victor: I will take care of Faith, okay?

Nick: Thanks, Dad.

Michael: Nick, shall we?

Sharon: You're gonna go with Grandpa for a while, all right? Here we go.

Victor: Come here, Sweetheart.

Sharon: There we go.

Victor: Come here, Sweetheart.

Sharon: Go to Grandpa?

Victor: There we go. Come here. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Oh, there we go. There we go.

Sharon: You're always there for her.

Victor: There we go. Yes.

Sharon: Just like you promised to be there for me.

Victor: There we go.

Sharon: I hope that she-- I hope that she never knows what it's like to have you break your promise.

Victor: Look at that. Oh, thank you so much. That's so nice of you. Thank you. I appreciate--thank you.

Tucker: The salary I paid Collier-- Blake, whatever the hell his name is-- I want it back. I don't care how you get it.

Sofia: (Sighs)

Tucker: And when the D.A. charges Cane and Blake with larceny and fraud, you will cooperate with the police. Otherwise, I'll see to it there's a warrant for my right-hand woman, as well.

Sofia: I'll do whatever I can to make things right, but know this was not about scamming you, Tucker. This was about protecting someone who needed help. And you're a liar if you sit there and say you've never done the same thing.

Lily: And I called him a hero for standing up to the criminals. I didn't think that he was one of them.

Malcolm: Well, now they're after him. So let 'em have him. Let 'em beat his ass down.

Neil: You know, he-- he went to court against Mackenzie to get you those fetal stem cells to save your life, and then what does he do? He turns around, and he puts a target on your back.

Lily: Dad, I told you, I am not in danger.

Neil: The son of a bitch convinced me that he was good for you, Lily, even after all the lies. No more chances, not from me.

Malcolm: Yeah, whatever happens at this point is too bad. It's his problem. All that matters now is that you and the babies are safe.

Lily: Okay, can you guys just stop? Please. I told him to leave, but after that, I don't know what comes next.

Cane: Because becoming Phillip Chancellor was a lifeline. It--it was a chance for me to finally be a-a good man, a decent man. I couldn't go and tell Lily the kind of man I was, not when I had the deportation problem or she had the cancer scare. And then the twins came early, and I couldn't come to you, and I couldn't dump my problems on you, 'cause then they'd be your problems, and I love you too much to do that, okay? But the problem I have now is that my past has followed me here.

Jill: Honey, come on. You've come clean so often.

Cane: (Sighs heavily)

Kay: Yes, Cane, that, um, is an improper way to treat people. You call them family, and then you don't trust them enough to be honest. Now you said you left that life behind you?

Cane: Yes.

Kay: Well, your life is straightened out now, and that's all that matters. Tell me, um, this--this Blake. Who were the men he's-- he worked for?

Cane: That's what you both now need to know.

(Doorbell rings)

Jill: Oh, Colin. I forgot.

Kay: Well--

Cane: Um, let me get this, 'cause I-I-I-I want to finish talking about everything, all right? Excuse me.

Jill: Okay. I guess he'll understand.

Colin: Cane, my boy, how are you?

Cane: So I've told them everything about Blake. I've told them the truth. So I'm gonna give you a head start. So why don't you take your ass, put it on a plane, and go back to Australia, huh?

Colin: You've become the man I always expected you to be. The thing is, I don't take orders.

Judge Wilkerson: Be seated. We've been here once before, and I've read the brief filed by Mr. Newman's attorney appealing my previous ruling.

Michael: Your honor, both my client and his ex-wife love their daughter. They have successfully co-parented before, but given the murder charges against Sharon Newman, my client would like sole custody. There is the press, a criminal case, possible prison time. There--

Leslie: Your honor, we are not talking about "What ifs" and "Maybes." We're talking here and now. And right here and now Sharon Newman is more than capable of parenting her daughter.

Sharon: (Sighs)

Leslie: She's present, engaged, and most of all, she's loving.

Sharon: Your honor, may I?

Judge Wilkerson: Please, go on.

Sharon: (Sighs) This has nothing to do with the charges against me. This is just like last time we were here. This has to do with the man who I've chosen to be with, and I want to point out then when Nick started a family with another woman, a woman who I had every reason to dislike and distrust, I still trusted him with our son. I did not file for custody. These charges do not change me, and the man who I am with does not change me. I am still the same mother who would die for her children, and Nicholas knows that deep down, and I want you to know that, too.

Tucker: When did I ever screw someone over the way you did me?

Sofia: What I did might look like the wrong thing for the right reason, just like what you did for my father when you saved his job and pretty much changed my life forever.

Tucker: Well, your father earned my respect and my friendship with his honesty, his integrity. What do you think he'd say about your stunt?

Sofia: I'd think he'd remind you of a time way back when, back when you were a guest lecturer at his business university class, that you guys hit it off and became friends, like, good friends, the kind you only get, like, once in a lifetime. And all those arguments over the dinner table about economics-- you two were the reason that I was the only little girl on the cheerleading team who read financial magazines. And then it all almost went to hell. My father started a business with his university class and didn't let the university in on the profits. That was against the rules. And my daddy was as good as fired, even with tenure.

Tucker: I owned that company. I didn't owe the university any profits. It was a misunderstanding. Your father was in the clear.

Sofia: That was the lie you told to help him keep his job. And I got a free ride to the university. And the very first call I made after I graduated was, um, "Hey, Mr. McCall. This is Sofia Dupre, and you need me at your company. When can I start?"

Tucker: Now that smart, bright girl cheated me, lied to me. I'm ashamed of you.

Sofia: Cane is my family now. (Thumps tabletop) In a roundabout way, he's your family, too. And if you wouldn't have done the same thing to help him, well... (Scoffs) I'm ashamed of you, too.

Malcolm: Lily, you did the right thing putting Cane out. If he was here right now, he'd have a real problem.

Lily: Yeah, listen, I... (Sighs) I can't worry about you two going off and--and hurting him. Don't forget, he is the twins' father. I have to just figure out what to do. (Sighs)

(Cell phone alert chimes)

Malcolm: Sofia.

Lily: Go talk to her.

Malcolm: Mm. We're supposed to be making wedding plans, and she's running around here covering up Cane's tracks.

Neil: Come on, Man, she thought she was helping, you know? It was a protective instinct.

Malcolm: Yeah, but she was protecting the wrong person. (Sighs) Look, if you need me...

Lily: I know. Thank you.

Malcolm: All right.

Neil: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Malcolm: Gotta go.

Neil: All right.

Malcolm: Yeah.

Lily: Bye.

Neil: (Sighs) It's gonna be okay.

Lily: (Sighs)

Neil: You're gonna take things minute by minute, all right? Hour by hour. Um, if you want me to bring the babies to my place so you can think, or if you want to take 'em there, or if you want me to stay here and run interference in case Cane comes back, I'll do that, all right? Whatever you want, I'll do that.

Lily: We've just come so far. Its like, how can two people who have been through so much together not be meant for each other? It's like, what-- what am I supposed to think? What am I supposed to feel? I mean, was--was I wrong the whole time? Was I?

Neil: (Sighs)

Lily: (Sighs)

Neil: No, Baby.

Lily: (Sighs)

Cane: So you gonna stick around when Jill finds out you're not this dashing businessman?

Colin: No, I am a businessman.

Cane: No, you're a con. You're a thug in a nice suit. You're the head of a crime syndicate. That's what you are.

Colin: And I'm also your dear, old dad. Let's not leave that out.

Cane: Yeah, and you're also the reason that Samantha is dead, your own daughter. It should never have come this far. So I'm gonna go in there. I'm gonna tell 'em the truth. And you know what? Your threats are gonna mean squat from then on.

Colin: You sold me out to the police back in Oz, and here I am. And you can do it again, and I'll come back, because I'm a lot tougher than you think. Now you're gonna go and tell Jill, and she's gonna come out here and ask me, and that'll give me plenty of time.

Cane: So? For what?

Colin: To kill the woman who loves you like a son. (Chuckles) Now you can go and hire some protection. Good. But I'm a patient man, because being in prison is all about patience, if nothing else.

Jill: A crime family, and he has more to tell us?

Kay: I'm not sure I want to know.

Jill: Oh, Katherine, poor Lily. What she must be going through.

(Footsteps approaching)

Jill: Colin, Honey, I'm sorry. It's a bad time.

Colin: Cane's already filled me in a bit, and he has agreed to let me stay if you need me.

Kay: Really?

Jill: Are you all right with that?

Cane: Yeah, I'm all right with that, 'cause it's all gonna be public knowledge soon.

Kay: Well, whatever you had left to say--

Cane: Yeah, I was going to, uh, tell you about the, uh, rest of the family. The head in fa--

(Glass shatters) 

Colin: I am so sorry, Love. I've messed up your pretty picture.

Jill: Sweetie, it doesn't matter. Leave it.

Kay: Cane, go on.

Cane: Do you know I had a sister? I haven't told you that, have I?

Jill: "Had"?

Cane: She died 'cause she stood up to the boss, 'cause that's the kind of man that he is.

Jill: Oh, my God. Your sister was murdered?

Cane: Mm-hmm.

Jill: Thank God you got out of there.

Kay: These are the kind of men that you've been paying off?

Cane: Yes.

Kay: I knew there was more. I knew there was a reason you left Australia the way you did.

Jill: We're right by your side. Whatever these men want--

Kay: Whatever these men want, we will see them in hell first.

Kay: They're dealing with us now.

Colin: Look, I can come back later if you like. But... (Chuckles) There's something we've got to discuss, and kind of-- the time is moving on.

Jill: Okay, Cane, I'm so sorry, Darling. I just need a couple minutes with Colin, okay? And then we'll be right back.

Cane: Okay.

Colin: You know how I feel about Jill, but if there's any way that I can help you, all you gotta do is ask.

Lily: It's like, when he told me that he wasn't Phillip, you know, I was so hurt and I was so angry, but I forgave him. I still forgave him.

Neil: Honey, you'd just been diagnosed.

Lily: No, Dad, it wasn't just the cancer. It wasn't. I-I thought that I knew who he was inside. You know, his name and-- and his--and his history didn't matter to me. It was his heart and his soul.

Neil: Hey, you know what I hope? I hope this is the last time-- that you've forgiven him for the last time. Lily, he lied to you. He's hurt you very badly. The last thing I want is to see you suffer. Kiddo, I've watched you very carefully the last few years. You're so strong, you know? You'll get through this, and I'm gonna be with you. Don't you worry.

Lily: (Sighs)

Sofia: Oh, hell, no.

Blake: Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Sofia: Why don't you get out?

Blake: (Scoffs) Well, well, well. You see, I don't take orders from you anymore.

Sofia: Oh, yeah, that's right, because it's over. Tucker McCall wants your head on a plate. He wants his money back, and your ass is going to jail.

Blake: Uh, yeah, well, you see, I have my own boss, and I answer to him. McCall is your problem, not mine.

Sofia: Oh, Tucker was right. You were a smarmy jerk the day you walked in. Oh, b-but was it fun puttin' on a suit, pretending to have half a brain? Because now you can play as much as you want with your own kind in prison.

Blake: You really want to go up against me and the people I'm with?

Sofia: Guess what? I got people, too, Punk. Why don't you just get up out my face before I call the cops myself? (Scoffs)

Jack: No, thank you very much.

Adam: So what's, uh, what's this Pelson's deal?

Jack: Well, Pelson’s firm handles pretty much every company whose stock Skye traded from.

Adam: So when she bought and sold at just the right second--

Jack: It was inside information, and the reason his name was familiar is because he was at Harvard the same time you and Skye were.

Adam: That's where he's from. That guy had a crush on Skye back in school.

Jack: All the time you were with the fund, you knew nothing about her dealing with Pelson?

Adam: No. I let her do her thing, but I'm not surprised.

Jack: You were so obsessed with Sharon, you didn't know your own partner was cheating the system.

Adam: The question is, are we going to follow Skye's example or not? You know, I'm more than happy to call Pelson for the sake of the fund.

Jack: Hell, no. I am not gonna get busted by the S.E.C.

Adam: So much for thinkin' outside the box then, right?

Jack: This is the Newman fund, owned and operated by Jack Abbott. I own something with Victor's last name on it. It's so surreal, it's almost demented, and that makes me very happy, so I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize that fund. I can make money without cheating.

Adam: Well, Jack, I was only second in my class at H.B.S. So, you know, I still have a few things to offer.

Jack: Well, what do you say we put it to a test? You take the money you just deposited in the fund and manage it. I'll take what I built up. I'll manage it. We'll see who has the stuff. Maybe a little healthy competition will add to our profit.

Adam: I'm in.

Judge Wilkerson: Mrs. Newman, I do believe you're a good mother. I do believe you and Mr. Newman have raised healthy, fine, well-loved children. As a rule, that's all this court could hope for. But a first-degree murder charge... Mr. Newman was right in refiling his petition. This situation is serious. It's dangerous, and I'm awarding full custody to Mr. Newman of the minor child.

Sharon: What? No, wait. You can't treat me like I'm guilty! I didn't hurt anybody!

Leslie: We will refile after the trial, Sharon. Or better yet, after the case is dropped, okay?

Sharon: She was in my arms just a little while ago. But you would rip her away from me. You would do that to me, and you would do that to her.

Nick: Michael, can you go get my dad and Faith so Faith can say good-bye to her mother?

Michael: Of course.

Nick: You can still see her whenever you want, same as before.

Sharon: (Voice breaks) Right. With your permission. When I have your permission to see her and hold her or love her. (Gasps) (Sniffles) Hi, Baby. Honey, I know--I know that we had plans for tonight...

Faith: Yeah.

Sharon: But you're gonna have to go home with your daddy, okay? And we're gonna be together again real soon.

Sharon: Victor, I know that you're angry that I'm with Adam, but you know that I love Faith, and you know it's best for her. She needs to be with her mother. You of all people know what that is like. So please, will you do something?

Faith: (Babbles)

Sharon: Please, do what's best for her.

Kay: Let it go.

Cane: I don't want anyone to get hurt.

Kay: All right. Come on over here and sit down. Let's talk. (Sighs) All right, now you listen to me.

Cane: (Sighs)

Kay: Indeed, you did mess up. Oh, yeah, big, big-time. But in your heart, you know you are a good person. Despite your past, despite your lies, but-- it's a very big "But"...

Kay: I believe there is something more. Now I want you to be honest with me. Do you understand? Look at me. Look at me. Is there any more to that story?

Cane: I can't talk anymore, Katherine, and I know that's not the answer.

Kay: Actually, it is. Oh, I can imagine how Lily must be feeling about now.

Cane: I need to go home. I need to see her. I need to make amends. I need to go home.

Kay: No, now listen, do not--do not rush over there, Cane. Do not do that. If she wants more time...

Cane: (Sighs heavily)

Kay: Then back off. Give it to her.

Kay: And if she does want to see you, that... that is something we need to know. (Sighs)

Lily: It's like, haven't I proved to him that I can take it? And that I can forgive him? Why didn't he trust me with the whole story?

(Cell phone rings)

Neil: Hey. If that's Cane--

Lily: No. No. Hello?

Kay: Uh, Lily, uh, it's Katherine. Uh, Cane's here, and, um, he spoke his piece. And just in case you didn't want to hear his voice, I am calling on his behalf. Do you want to see him?

Lily: It's Katherine. Cane wants to see me.

Neil: Your call.

Lily: (Sighs heavily) Oh, gosh. Um, yeah. Send him over.

Sofia: (Sighs) Hey.

Malcolm: Hey.

Sofia: I didn't think you were coming. I-I left my drink inside.

Malcolm: Yeah, I almost didn't.

Sofia: (Sighs)

Malcolm: You know, my daughter is really torn up over her husband lying to her again. And the fact that you helped him, Sofia...

Sofia: But, Baby, I did it to protect your family.

Malcolm: So what? You proud of yourself? No regrets?

Sofia: Of course I have some regrets.

Malcolm: So is not tellin' me one of them?

Sofia: Malcolm, Baby, the bakery is waiting for us. Are we gonna go taste cakes, or not?

Malcolm: (Sighs) Right about now, it'd be like tastin' sawdust, Sofia. And I think I'm gonna go check into the club for a few days.

Sofia: What? You're running? Is this the kind of relationship that we have where we hit a rough patch and you bail on me? Look, if you are backing out of this wedding, you need to tell me now.

Jill: Where's Cane? Where did he go?

Kay: He went to see Lily.

Colin: Good for him.

Kay: Um, I need to, uh, talk to Jill. Uh, it's--it's a family matter.

Jill: Well, he is family, or he soon will be. (Sighs)

Kay: Jill, the man you love as a son needs at least 50% of your attention right now.

Jill: For God sake, Katherine, I can love Colin and Cane at the same time. Somehow, you manage with Murphy.

Kay: Don't you ever-- don't you ever compare him to Murphy.

Jill: Oh, that's right. My soon-to-be husband does not have a bait shop, nor is he marrying me so he can move out of his trailer. (Gasps)

Kay: Wake up.

Jill: (Sighs)

Lily: Okay, do I look normal, like I'm not falling apart?

Neil: Honey, just relax. You look beautiful, all right? What are you gonna tell Cane?

Lily: Uh... (Sighs) I don't know. I just--I-I have to, you know, hear what he has to say first.

Neil: Well, you know he's probably gonna want to work things out with you. Is that what you want?

Lily: (Sighs) I don't know, Dad. I don't know what I want, okay? I... (Sighs) Listen, things are complicated enough without you being here when Cane shows up.

Neil: (Sighs)

Lily: So if you could please just go, I...

Neil: Yeah, well, why don't I just stay and-- and--and sit with the kids?

Lily: Dad, come on. You said that you trust me.

Neil: Of course I do. All right. (Sighs) Call me when you're done, all right?

Lily: Okay.

Neil: (Sighs)

Jack: Gentlemen. Hey, can I buy you a drink? The Newman fund is doing so well, I can afford to be generous to those who are less fortunate. Wow, a third of your assets frozen. That must really sting.

Michael: Oh, this never gets old. Oh, no, wait. It does.

Victor: The Newman fund. The dregs and leftovers for you, Jack-- what you deserve.

Jack: You know, I actually just learned something about those dregs. When Adam and Skye were administering the fund, there was a great deal of questionable activity-- activity that could easily be pinned on Adam. We may actually have what we need to take down your, uh, weasel offspring.

Victor: (Chuckles)

Adam: Pelson, its Vic Wilson. And, uh, we've got some catchin' up to do. Give me a call.

Adam: Sharon, is, uh, Faith coming home?

Sharon: Baby, I love you so much.

Nick: Come on, Sweetheart. Let's go home.

Sharon: (Sniffles)

Adam: Hey, come here.

Sharon: (Sighs) (Sniffles)

Malcolm: Okay, so that's what we doin'? We callin' this weddin' off?

Sofia: You're the one walking away.

Malcolm: Yeah, for a few days, Sofia. I said a few days. We need some space, some time to cool off, and then maybe you won't have a problem admittin' that you were wrong.

Sofia: (Scoffs) What, is that the kind of relationship that we have? Where, what? You teach me a lesson, and then I come crawling back to you? Please, Malcolm, enjoy your space a couple of days.

Malcolm: Yeah, you know what? The more we talk about it, the more I think I will, Sofia. I'm done. Peace.
