Episode # 9575 ~ Adam Offers Jack a Business Proposition
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Nick: I'm really glad you came by.
Diane: Yeah, me, too. Victor actually wanted to work tonight, but I thought you probably needed moral support more than he needed to discuss architectural plans for Japan.
Nick: So was this a pity dinner?
Diane: No pity. The mother of your children was arrested for murder. You said you were torn over whether or not to bail her out. I just want you to know that I'm here, whatever you decide. Uh... I-is something wrong?
Nick: Um, we've talked a lot about Sharon. I think we should talk about us.
Adam: Okay, just let me know if you or Vance hear anything about anything, and I-I appreciate you steppin' up today.
Sharon: (Sighs)
Adam: Okay, bye.
Sharon: I never want to spend another night in jail for the rest of my life.
Adam: (Chuckles) Well, I-I hear-- it's just a rumor, but they're building an entire wing just for the Newmans.
Sharon: (Scoffs) Well, they're gonna have to with the amount of time we all spend there.
Adam: (Chuckles) Well, I think they broke the ground...
Sharon: (Sighs)
Adam: And there's a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and it's all under way.
Sharon: What did Leslie say? Did she figure out who paid my bail?
Adam: She didn't say, no. Apparently, they want to remain anonymous.
Sharon: Really?
Adam: Mm-hmm.
Sharon: Well, let's see. It can't be Victor. And it can't be Nick or even Jack, so... I mean, they've all made it perfectly clear they don't want to help me.
Adam: I mean, look, my dad did say he would offer assistance.
Sharon: Right, right. If I admit that I made a mistake and renounce you for the rest of my life.
Adam: (Sighs) We were so close, weren't we? We were so close to having everything go right for us, and having something that resembles normalcy, you know? The charges have been dropped against me. And we had Faith with us, and now it's just...
Sharon: We fought for your freedom, and we're gonna fight for mine.
Adam: Well, you better have a thick skin, Sister.
Sharon: I didn't kill Skye, and I'm gonna do whatever it takes to defend myself.
Billy: Thank you.
Jack: Yeah.
Billy: (Clears throat) So why did we get out scooped making sure his brain was still intact, and you were adopting a baby.
Jack: How is my beautiful little niece doing?
Billy: Well, she is perfect. She is beautiful. You can pick your superlative. You can see right here.
Jack: Ahh. (Groans) She met the Abbott family yesterday.
Billy: Yeah. Uh, Daniel was there, too, actually. Must be pretty tough for him knowing that his own baby girl is out there somewhere.
Phyllis: Yeah, we could just pray that they find Daisy and the baby.
Jack: Well, Daisy is not gonna stay underground forever.
Phyllis: Hey, um, uh, can I see that?
Jack: Yeah. Here.
Phyllis: (Gasps) She's really cute.
Jack: Yeah, she is.
Phyllis: So sweet. Your family must be in love with her.
Billy: Yeah. (Sighs) All but one. I'll give you three guesses who.
Phyllis: Oh, well, you're lucky if Victor keeps his distance.
Jack: No argument from me.
Phyllis: That's very strange. I'm surprised that Victoria even got together with him. I thought she was keeping her distance.
Billy: Yeah, well, she is, but, uh, I don't know. You "Snidely" just showed up to see Nick. He was dropping off Faith after Sharon's arrest.
Jack: And then he blew us all away with that news. I did not see that coming.
Phyllis: Yeah, you know, let's talk about that. You know, Skye wouldn't be a crispy critter...
Billy: Wow. (Sighs)
Phyllis: Well, it's true. She wouldn't be a crispy critter if Victor hadn't tried to set up Adam in the first place.
Billy: What did you talk to Sharon about in jail?
(Cell phone rings)
Phyllis: Oh, excuse me. I need to take this.
Billy: Mm. What do you think happened in Hawaii?
Jack: I don't believe for one minute Sharon could have killed Skye. You, however, appear to have had a change of heart.
Billy: No, I-I don't think it was premeditated. But I could see a heat-of-the-moment thing kind of happening.
Phyllis: All right, well, that was my source at the station. Sharon is out on bail. An anonymous benefactor just paid half a million dollars for her release.
Victor: And you're sure Sharon will never know it was me?
Nikki: Well, hello.
Victor: Hi.
Nikki: How are you?
Victor: (Sighs) Just had a very tiresome meeting. I want to get home.
Nikki: Well, I need to have a word with you first about your behavior at Victoria's yesterday.
Victor: Let's talk about it tomorrow, okay?
Nikki: No, we'll talk about it right now. Victoria has a beautiful new baby who's giving her so much joy. I-it's wonderful to see her so happy. How could you possibly tell her that that baby is a mistake and will bring her nothing but pain?
Victor: She bound herself forever to Billy Abbott with that child.
Nikki: (Scoffs) This is not about him. It's about our daughter. And this was the perfect opportunity for you to reach out to her. All you had to say was, "I hope you'll be happy," or something along those lines, but you and your ego couldn't even conjure that up. What is the matter with you? Your behavior was appalling. Why do I even try to reunite you with your family when you don't even deserve them?
Victor: Did I ever ask you to do me a damn favor?
Diane: You want to talk about where this relationship is going?
Nick: Too soon?
Diane: Mm, not--not if you need to.
Nick: (Sighs) That's really one of the things I like about you. You're very easy to talk to, easy to be with.
Diane: But?
Nick: No "Buts." You are... awesome.
Diane: Well, you're awesome, too.
Nick: (Chuckles)
Diane: Now that you've successfully flattered me, what is it you wanted to say? (Sighs)
Nick: (Sighs) My life is... unbelievably chaotic right now. I mean, my sisters are suing my dad. My mom just got out of rehab. Now that Sharon just got arrested, it's only gonna get more complicated. And I don't want to drag you into all that.
Diane: I can take it.
Nick: (Chuckles) I... I can't. I just, I-I can't... be serious right now with...I (Sighs) I just think it would be best if, you know, we went back to being friends.
Sharon: I think I must have dozed off for, I don't know, a minute. Maybe I got an hour of sleep, but the woman in the cell next to me was crying all night.
Adam: You know, I just hate that you were even there for one night. Just--none of this would have happened, Sharon, if you hadn't gone to Hawaii and tracked down Skye, you know? (Sighs)
Sharon: If I had to do that all over again, I would, if it meant getting you out of jail. I'm not gonna let Victor and Skye get away with framing you for something you didn't do.
Adam: No, I know. I-I-it just-- this is ludicrous, though. You have to admit the charges for murder are being dropped against me, and they're being charged against you. If anybody knew you, they would know, Sharon, you couldn't do anything like this.
Sharon: Okay, but you know what? Listen. Listen. Maybe--and this sounds crazy-- but maybe this is a blessing.
Adam: (Scoffs)
Sharon: I mean, I went to Hawaii. We found out Skye was alive. You didn't murder her. Now all we have to do is prove that her death was an accident, and this is over with for both of us, and no one can try to keep us apart anymore.
Adam: (Sighs)
Phyllis: Just to be clear, did you spring Sharon?
Jack: You have to ask?
Phyllis: Of course I have to ask. Being a hero is a hard habit to break. No offense. Did--did you-- please, Jack, did you?
Billy: If she didn't ask you, I was gonna ask. There's not a long list of people with that sort of disposable income.
Jack: I'm not exactly rolling in cash right now.
Phyllis: Okay, well, Adam is broke. We know it's not Victor, because, you know, from past experience, he doesn't care about collateral damage.
Billy: That leaves Nick.
Phyllis: (Sighs) Nick wouldn't hide it.
Billy: Mm... I don't know. I could see that he wouldn't want his ex-wife locked up, but he would probably want to keep his distance.
Jack: No, I agree with Red. It isn't Nick. You know what's strange about this whole thing? Anyone who really knows Sharon knows she could come up with the bail money on her own. So why all the urgency to rush in and rescue her?
Victor: So you have forgotten that, um, Victoria forgot to tell me... that she had adopted a child?
Nikki: Victor, when you left, she came after you. She asked you to stay.
Victor: Please. Stop it right now. She had no interest in reconciling at all, okay? She chose Billy Abbott over her own family.
Nikki: That is just not true. Open your eyes, Victor.
Victor: Will you open your own eyes? Are you serious? Victoria is suing me. I may lose my company that I've spent a lifetime building. You know that better than anyone. You know what's wrong with her? She has a sense of entitlement. She thinks she can do anything she wants and get away with it, that I'll forgive her, just like her mother who sleeps around in sleazy motels...
Nikki: Oh, s--
Victor: With sleazy characters.
Nikki: Will you please--
Victor: You open your eyes!
Nikki: (Sighs) Oh, my God. (Sighs)
Phyllis: We have a lot of tantalizing tidbits.
Billy: Yeah, but nothing solid. We got no proof that Victor helped Skye disappear, no proof that Sharon killed her, on purpose or accidentally.
Jack: No, you heard what Victor said yesterday-- the police have new evidence.
Billy: Yeah, but what is it? And what does your contact at the station say?
Phyllis: All he said is there was something that debunks what Sharon said regarding Skye's fall.
Jack: Wait, something from Hawaii?
Phyllis: Yeah, he didn't say.
Billy: A witness? Is it forensics?
Phyllis: I-I don't know. I don't know, but what I do know is that we have the scoop that Sharon is released from jail before anybody else.
Billy: Okay, then what are you waiting for? Just do it. Come on.
Phyllis: Ok, watch this. "Watch out, Genoa City. Sharon Newman, the accused murderess, who allegedly threw her lover's wife into a fiery lava pit, has just been sprung from jail. Word has it an anonymous moneybags dropped a cool half mil to bring the hot-tempered temptress home. Who's looking out for this deadly damsel in distress, and why?"
Victor: Well, because the judge froze a third of our assets, I have no choice but to-- well, I need to initiate layoffs-- not only at Beauty of Nature, but at Newman Enterprises. Right. You make sure you inform everyone who is affected at I'll rectify the situation as quickly as possible, all right? Thank you.
Nikki: (Sighs)
(Cell phone rings)
Deacon: Hey. Hello.
Nikki: Hi, it's Nikki.
Deacon: I was just on my way out to meet you.
Nikki: Well, I-I'm glad I caught you.
Deacon: You're canceling?
Nikki: No, I just don't feel up to being in a restaurant tonight.
Deacon: Um, do you want to... do you want to come over to my place?
Nikki: Would you mind?
Deacon: No, not at all. I-I tell you what, we can, uh, we can order some takeout when you get here.
Nikki: Okay, that-- that sounds perfect. I'll see you soon.
Diane: Of cour-- of course I understand. The last thing you need is to take on a new relationship. Things are complicated enough right now.
Nick: I don't want to hurt you.
Diane: I'm not that fragile.
Nick: Well, good, 'cause I really don't want to lose our friendship.
Diane: It's-- it's where we started out, right? No reason we can't go back there.
Nick: I've leaned on you a lot lately for support. And I hope you know that if you need me for the same, I'm here.
Diane: I do. H-how about a friendly hug?
Nick: (Sighs) Absolutely.
Diane: (Chuckles)
(Knock on door)
Nick: When'd you get out?
Sharon: Um, just a few hours ago. I'm surprised Phyllis hasn't blogged about it by now. You know, she actually had the nerve to come to my cell and ask me to give her the real story about how I killed Skye.
Diane: Sounds like the kids want to see a movie.
Diane: Kyle adores Summer. She's like a little sister to him.
Sharon: Oh. Well, do you mind if I just talk to Nick alone for a minute?
Diane: Oh, of course. Absolutely I'll--I'll--I'll-- I'll call you later.
Nick: Yeah, thanks for stopping by. We'll talk soon.
Diane: Uh-huh. Good luck.
Sharon: Where's Faith?
Nick: She's asleep. I'd like to keep it that way.
Sharon: Oh. Um, Nick, I just need to ask you something. Um, were you the one who put up the bond to get me out?
Nick: No, it wasn't me.
Sharon: Oh. Oh. Well, someone put up that money.
Nick: I have no idea who would do that for you.
Sharon: What? In other words, you have no idea who would want to help me?
Nick: I didn't say that.
Sharon: If it were up to you, you'd rather have me locked up still, wouldn't you?
Nick: (Scoffs)
Deacon: Can I take your coat?
Nikki: Sure.
Deacon: Wow. You look terrific.
Nikki: Thanks.
Deacon: You know, Nikk, I gotta tell you, uh, you could have knocked me over the other day when you called and said you wanted to get together. There was a little part of me that thought I was never going to see you again.
Nikki: (Sighs) Well, don't get too cocky. I wasn't sure, either.
Deacon: What happened?
Nikki: (Sighs) The last few days have been such a struggle. (Sighs) I...I really need a friend.
Deacon: It's been a long time since anybody's used that word to describe me. I'm--I'm glad you think of me that way. What's up?
Nikki: (Scoffs) Where do I begin? (Sighs)
Deacon: I don't know. When it comes to drama, family always seems to be a pretty good place to start.
Nikki: Well, mine is falling apart. (Sighs)
Deacon: Is it the-- the lawsuit thing, right?
Nikki: I've done everything I can think of to bring Victor and Victoria back together, and it's completely useless. (Sighs) I just had the most ugly encounter with him. I-I-I can't believe that that man claims that family is the most important thing to him, and then he just decimated the people who love him. (Sighs) I've just had a really rough time lately. And I'm... I'm not handling it well.
Deacon: Well, I think the first thing you need to do is just take a deep breath. And you gotta remember the first step. I mean, you're powerless.
Nikki: Even though Meggie was the one who started me drinking again, I mean, I... (Sighs) I've been to rehab. I... granted, I haven't been sober long. I'm just... I'm just really struggling. I'm--I'm having a real battle.
Deacon: Hey. Have you... have you taken a drink?
Nikki: No. But I really want to.
Jack: I'll see you, Billy.
Billy: See you.
Phyllis: I'll walk you to the elevator.
Billy: Uh, Guys, hold up. Come look at this.
Phyllis: What?
Billy: S-some guy that says he has information to sell on Sharon's story.
Jack: Does this guy know who paid her bail?
Billy: No. But he says he has a copy of the evidence that led to her arrest.
Phyllis: Do you think it's legitimate?
Billy: I say we find out. (Clears throat) Hi, this is Billy Abbott from "Restless Style." I got your e-mail. Well, yeah, the-- I might be interested. Uh, that's a steep price. Well, I-I-I didn't say no. If it's real, then we've got a deal.
Victor: Did you forget something?
Diane: My plans fell through, so if you'd still like to get some work done tonight...
Victor: Oh. Have you eaten?
Diane: Not yet.
Victor: Well, then I'll tell the chef that there's one more. How's that?
Diane: That's great.
Victor: I'm glad you decided to come back.
Adam: Hey, it's Adam. No, listen, don't hang up. I know I'm probably the last person that you want to talk to, but if you meet with me, you just might change your mind. Listen, it's just five minutes out of your life. What else have you got to lose?
Adam: (Sighs) You made it.
Jack: This better be good. I assume this has something to do with Sharon's release?
Adam: Mm, you heard.
Jack: It's news.
Adam: Or is it that you secretly paid her bond, then you left it anonymous so that old Red wouldn't tear you to pieces?
Jack: It wasn't me. Next time you have a question like that, call me on the phone, okay?
Adam: That's not why I call you, Jack. I have a business proposition that might benefit both of us.
Nick: Faith is still asleep. So whatever you have to say to me, please do it quietly.
Sharon: I must have been an idiot to think that you'd want to help the mother of your children. I'm sure it's just driving you crazy that I'm free. Doesn't it? It ruins your plan.
Nick: (Scoffs) What plan?
Sharon: Nick, you know that I'm innocent. You know I didn't kill Skye. Only you won't admit it because you want full custody of Faith. And my going to jail was exactly what you needed to get the judge to reverse her decision. How many minutes after my arrest did you file for a new case?
Nick: I'm doing what is best for Faith.
Sharon: Until the court says otherwise, we share custody of Faith, and I'm taking her home with me tonight, and, yes, Adam will be there.
Nick: I'm not lettin' you do that.
Sharon: You try to stop me, it's gonna get ugly. You better damn well get use to it Nick. Those charges against me-- they're gonna be dropped, and when they are, you're not gonna have any legal reason to keep my daughter away from me.
(E-mail alert chimes)
Phyllis: Is that it? Is that it?
Billy: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It needs to download, though, so just give me a second. Okay, so this guy said that he was hiking the volcano the night that Skye died, and he was taping the lava, so there's nothing to see here. We're just interest in the audio.
Phyllis: Right.
Billy: And here it is. Showtime.
(Steam vents hissing)
(Lava crackling)
Sharon: You're not gonna get away with this.
Skye: You can't stop me.
Sharon: Oh, yes, I can.
(Volcano rumbles loudly)
Phyllis: That's Sharon. Oh, my God, that's Sharon threatening Skye.
Billy: (Stammers) You can hear that?
Phyllis: Yeah, well, not anymore, but I could.
Billy: Damn it.
Phyllis: God, talk about a cliffhanger.
Billy: Yeah. I don't know, I mean--
Phyllis: Here.
Billy: Oh. (Sighs) Hi, uh, it's Billy Abbott. Yeah, um, so seriously, nobody else has this video besides the authorities? Great. Then we have a deal. I'll wire the money to your account. Thanks again.
Phyllis: This is pretty amazing. Do you want me to upload it, or do you want to?
Billy: I don't know. I really hate doing this to Sharon.
Phyllis: Oh, are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Why is it that every man wants to protect Sharon? I just-- I really don't understand this. She threatened another human being. Our little butterfly has turned into a barracuda. If we don't post it, somebody else will.
Billy: You're right. Okay. Do it.
Phyllis: All right. Move. Move aside. Move aside.
Billy: Here, my dear. Please sit.
Phyllis: Thank you. Thank you. (Sighs) Watch. Behold. "Breaking news. Restless Style has exclusively obtained evidence that led to Sharon Newman's arrest for murder. Listen closely." You like that?
Billy: Mm.
Phyllis: "You'll hear 'Blondie'"-- you like that?
Billy: (Sighs)
Phyllis: "Threaten her boyfriend's soon-to-be-ex-wife-- well, make that 'Dead ex-wife'-- was the accident not-so-accidental after all? Play the video, and decide for yourselves." (Gasps) (Sighs) It's good. It's good. "We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." Hmm. I should send this over to Victor.
Deacon: I really am sorry that he's giving you such a hard time.
Nikki: Hey, I can't blame him. (Sighs) If I take a drink, it's my fault. I just have to be strong.
Deacon: No, no. You know, wait a second. This isn't about willpower. I mean, we can't do this alone. Every single time that I've ever slipped, I have had to pick myself up and drag myself back to those meetings, because at least for me, I can't stay sober without the fellowship and without my higher power.
Nikki: Have you had the urge to drink since you left rehab?
Deacon: Yeah, Nikk. The temptation's always there. I mean, uh, you stayed sober for years. But the good news is, you're a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for.
Nikki: Then why do I feel like such a failure?
Deacon: Okay, you know what? Stop right there. I'm not even gonna listen to that. It's not like-- it's not like you walked into some bar and you ordered a drink. That bitch Meggie was poisoning you with alcohol. She tried to destroy you, and you--you survived. And for what it's worth, I gotta tell you, I just-- I admire the hell outta you.
Nikki: (Sniffles)
Deacon: Oh, come here. Shh. Come here, Babe.
Nikki: (Sobs)
Deacon: Oh, it's okay. It's okay.
Diane: I'd like to add a rooftop helipad and a private elevator.
Victor: All right, agreed.
Diane: I don't remember you being so easy to work with.
Victor: Well, maybe I have mellowed. Who knows, hmm?
Diane: (Laughs) (Sighs) (Laughs) Okay, moving on.
Victor: (Chuckles)
Diane: The lobby. Now I seem to recall you not being so keen on something similar that I designed for the Newman Towers many years ago.
Victor: You remember that? We had fun doing that, didn't we? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Diane: Yes, we did. We got married.
Victor: And then you broke my heart.
Diane: You were the heartbreaker.
Victor: Anyway, I'm glad we put all of that behind us, and now we're working together.
Diane: Yeah.
Victor: Mm.
Diane: And I am enjoying spending time with you again...
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Diane: Surprisingly. And this job came at just the perfect time.
Victor: Mm-hmm. I, um, forgot to tell you that I heard that you made rather bad investments with the divorce settlement money, and that your last job wasn't what you made it out to be.
Diane: (Sighs) I should have known that you would check up on me. If you're having reservations... (Clears throat)
Victor: Look at me. I have no reservations. You're perfect for the job. I like the idea that I'm helping you and Kyle.
Diane: It was tough when I lost the job with Tucker.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Diane: You know how I am, how I like to be in control.
Victor: Mm-hmm. (Chuckles)
Diane: And I felt helpless when it all fell apart, although I sure as hell wasn't gonna tell anybody in Genoa City about it.
Victor: Well, I don't blame you. That's no one's business.
Diane: I know that things have not been easy for you, either, lately.
Victor: (Sighs) Yeah. Well...to (Sighs) That damn lawsuit. I'm fighting with my daughters for the survival of my company.
Diane: I haven't forgotten how you struggled when you were a child, how you started with nothing. Look what you've become. And if you lost it all, I don't doubt for one moment that you could start again and come out on top. It's just who you are. You're Victor Newman.
Victor: You know me well, don't you?
Adam: There is only one way that my father would have convinced Skye to go along with his plan-- cash.
Jack: Yeah, money's a great motivator.
Adam: Mm-hmm. I know the banks that she preferred. I know all her favorite passwords, and I am next of kin. I'm going to hunt down that money. It is legally mine.
Jack: So why tell me all of this?
Adam: Because you're gonna try and trace this money back to Victor, and you won't be able to, but I don't want you getting in my way. I want to grow this green. I want to make a fortune. And I want you in on it with me.
Jack: You're kidding, right?
Adam: Skye wasn't the only one behind the Newman fund, Jack. You know my record on Wall Street. You work with me the way you worked with Skye, and we will make billions.
Nick: Despite what you think, nothing would make me happier than to see you proven innocent. You know, it makes me sick when think about how things fell apart with us when I found you in New Orleans with Adam. I really hated having to file for full custody of Faith.
Sharon: Then don't do it.
Nick: You're involved with Adam. I don't have a choice.
Sharon: He's not gonna hurt our children.
Nick: I know that you want to believe that. And, yeah, maybe Adam wouldn't hurt them purposely. But just look at all the damage he's caused. Sharon, open your eyes. You are s--in so far over your head, you went to Hawaii for Adam, and a woman died.
Sharon: That was an accident.
Nick: Your little girl saw you get arrested. Our son had to go and visit you in jail. He's scared for his mother. He can't take this anymore.
Sharon: Well, you know what? I'm gonna talk to him.
Nick: You can't. He's gone.
Sharon: Where?
Nick: He went to New York to work on his music.
Sharon: He didn't even say good-bye to me.
Nick: (Sighs) Noah had to leave because he can't stand seeing what is happening with his mother. He had to. He wants you away from Adam. We all do. But we also know that that's not gonna happen right now.
Sharon: Not now, and not in the future. Nick, Adam is in my life for good.
Nick: Okay. But just look at this from my perspective. Look at everything l that he has cost us. Ask yourself this-- if the situation were reversed, wouldn't you do everything in your power to protect our children? Of course you would. I want you in Noah's and Faith's lives. I do. So I'm asking you, for their sake, please find a way to be with our children and keep Adam away.
Jack: I'm recouping my money just fine on my own, thanks.
Adam: With the stocks that bottomed out after the fund collapsed?
Jack: Most of those stocks are bouncing back quite nicely.
Adam: But that is peanuts compared to what you and I could do together. Victor has screwed you and I both over and over. How much do you think it would kill him to see us turn an even bigger profit together?
Jack: I'm sorry, Adam. The idea of doing business with you leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Adam: Just think about it. If you want to show that my dad ain't the big dog in the yard no more, give me a call.
Faith: (Fusses)
Sharon: I'm sorry, Nick. I just don't see things from your perspective. I'm taking Faith with me. My daughter is gonna spend the night tonight with me and with Adam in my home.
Nick: Sharon.
Sharon: I'm coming, Sweetheart.
Phyllis: Any reaction to the video?
Billy: Oh, we have thousands of hits. It's gone viral.
Phyllis: Hmm.
Billy: “Hmm"? You could sound a little bit more excited.
Phyllis: You know, despite what we heard...
Billy: Mm-hmm.
Phyllis: I gotta be honest. I don't think Sharon killed Skye.
Billy: Yeah, okay, we all agree that we don't think that Sharon's a cold-blooded killer, but let me play devil's advocate here, okay?
Phyllis: All right.
Billy: I mean, if you're really upset, and you feel threatened, there's no telling what someone's capable of doing.
Phyllis: Yeah, I know. I-I know, but murder?
Billy: Well, so it's a crime of passion. Sharon was furious at Skye for, uh, framing Adam.
Phyllis: Okay, so why did she go straight to the police after Skye died? Why did she do that?
Billy: (Clicks lips) It's a good cover-up.
Phyllis: But wouldn't she want to prove that Skye was alive? I mean, to prove that Adam didn't kill her? What about that?
Billy: (Sighs) You got me there.
Phyllis: Yeah, there are too many unanswered questions. That's all I'm saying. I mean, Billy, as much as I would really love to see Sharon rot in jail, it just--it doesn't add up.
Nikki: You don't know how much I needed to hear that.
Deacon: I meant every word of it. You said that this couldn't happen again.
Nikki: You're right. I did. (Sighs) But I changed my mind. (Sighs)
Nikki: (Sighs)
(Zipper slides down)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Cane: I'm gonna go to Lily, and I'll tell her the truth.
Kevin: The baby may be your kid, but she's my niece. Do you really know where she is?
