Episode # 9566 ~ Nick Learns the Depths of Victor's Duplicity

Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma

Billy: Hey, you're awake. Good.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Billy: What would you like to eat?

Victoria: I'm not really that hungry.

Billy: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not taking that for an answer. This is the breakfast of champions. You kicked butt in that mediation. You deserve whatever your little heart desires. Just name it.

Victoria: A slice of toast?

Billy: Really? Oh, come on. You're not excited about the big victory? You turned the tables on your old man. You played hardball, and you won.

Victoria: (Sighs) I know.

Billy: All right, look, you have frozen 30% of his assets. He cannot conduct business. He's gonna be forced to give you what you want. This is awesome.

Victoria: I just don't really feel that great about the tactics we used. I just don't think that they were completely aboveboard.

Billy: Oh. Hmm.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Billy: Let's see. Did you send a pregnant woman to jail on her wedding day? Hmm?

Victoria: No.

Billy: No. Did you... hold somebody's mom hostage at a rehab center?

Victoria: No.

Billy: No. Wow, and you call yourself a Newman. (Chuckles) There's nothing wrong with fighting fire with fire.

Victoria: Even though I just torched my own moral code?

Billy: Honey, you were strong. You were tough. You're a woman. He heard you roar. (Growls) Now come on. Get up. Go back to bed. We're gonna start this day over. You are long overdue for some heavy-duty pampering. And I'm gonna make you breakfast and bring it up.

Victoria: Pampering?

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Victoria: That's not what I thought you were gonna say.

Billy: Well, you are long overdue for that, too. So get up there, okay?

Victoria: Yes, Sir.

Billy: Yes, Ma'am. (Clears throat)

Billy: Billy Abbott.

Prim: Uh, yes, Mr. Abbott. I was expecting your call.

Billy: I transferred the first half of the money.

Prim: First half? That wasn't the deal.

Billy: Yeah, well, you get the second half upon delivery. Oh, I gotta go. Yeah (Clears throat) What are you doing?

Victoria: Uh, I forgot my book.

Billy: Well, here you go.

Victoria: Who was that on the phone?

Billy: That was just work.

Victoria: Oh, Phyllis?

Billy: Uh, no, it's a new guy. You haven't met him.

Victoria: Billy, what is going on?

Jack: So the doctors finally have Daniel in his own room?

Phyllis: Yep. Eh, nothing's changed. I'm ready to... inject some espresso... (Sighs) Into his I.V. so that he'll just wake up more than a few seconds at a time and talk.

Jack: Hey, he's rebuilding his strength. That's exactly what he should be doing.

Phyllis: Yeah. How was Hawaii? Did you find anything?

Jack: Only a major bombshell.

Phyllis: Really?

Jack: I'll tell you all about it later. I-I have one more stop to make, okay?

Phyllis: Okay, I'll be here.

Jack: Bye. Hey. Thanks for meeting me, Nick.

Nick: I don't have long. I'm supposed to meet my dad.

Jack: Okay, I'll get right to it. (Sighs) Do you recognize this from the surveillance video?

Nick: That's Skye’s keychain?

Jack: That is Skye’s keychain. It was found on the trail where Sharon found Skye. Skye was definitely in Hawaii.

Nick: (Sighs) So my dad lied to me. I'm not sure why I'm surprised. Has anyone else seen that?

Jack: No, not yet.

Nick: Is there any chance I can convince you to keep this between us?

Jack: Nope. (Sighs)

Nick: Look, I know my dad screwed you out of millions, but just think for one second what Adam is capable of if he gets released.

Jack: Withholding this information would make me complicit in Victor's scheme. It would make us partners. I'm not making that mistake again. I assume you're going to, uh, give your father a heads-up on this.

Nick: (Sighs) I went to my dad about this while you were gone. He looked in the eye and called me disloyal for even asking him if he was behind it. He clearly wants to deal with this on his own. So I'm gonna let him.

Victor: The reporter's here?

Michael: Mm-hmm. He's waiting in the lobby. Here's a list of questions he gave us in advance. We'll probably triple his ratings with this exclusive interview, which is why he was more than happy to agree to our terms.

Victor: "How much do you anticipate Newman Enterprises will lose this quarter because of the judge's ruling?"

Michael: Okay, of course, you don't want to give away too many specifics there.

Victor: "What strategies will you undertake to mitigate the damage?" (Scoffs)

Michael: Now that's a good chance to spin this whole thing positively.

Victor: "Where do you see your company in a year? Will Newman Enterprises as we know it today still exist?" Are you kidding me?

Diane: Are you ready for the grand tour?

Kyle: You already showed me the pond and the stables.

Diane: (Laughs) And, of course, what more is there?

Bonnie: Well, I think you'll want to see the billiards room.

Kyle: Billiards?

Diane: Pool table.

Bonnie: It's also where we've set up your favorite video games.

Kyle: (Gasps) Cool!

Bonnie: Right this way.

Kyle: This is gonna be excellent.

Diane: I think we're gonna love living here.

Sharon: Listen to me. Yesterday, I wouldn't have thought that Nick would be capable of having a civil conversation with me, much less letting me have Faith for the day. But you know what? I stood up to him. I told him that he can't steamroll me like that, and he backed down, and that's exactly what we're gonna do with the D.A.

Adam: How was it with Faith?

Sharon: (Sighs) She was so happy to be with me. She was so snuggly, and she--like, she didn't want to let go. And part of me is afraid that that's her insecurity coming out. Maybe she fears I'm gonna disappear.

Adam: No, it's affection. She loves her mommy.

Sharon: Listen, I have some time today. I'm gonna bang on some lawyers' doors until I find someone who's gonna take your case.

Adam: (Sighs) Don't waste your time.

Sharon: You need legal protection. You're being set up.

Adam: And Victor did it brilliantly. He managed to convince the world of a murder that never happened.

Heather: I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to speak with you both.

Ronan: You mind if I handle this?

Spencer: All right.

Ronan: It won't take long.

Heather: I'm sure that you're very upset with me, but you just have to set that aside because I need your help.

Ronan: You went behind my back and betrayed my confidence. What makes you think that I'm gonna help you?

Heather: I'm not gonna apologize for telling your mother that you're sick. Honestly, it didn't even feel like I had a choice.

Ronan: (Scoffs) I'm sure that it didn’t. I'm sure, as usual, you were compelled to just stick your nose where it doesn't belong, and now you're trying to do the same thing with the drug ring investigation.

Heather: (Sighs)

Ronan: I mean, that's-- that's what all this is about, right?

Heather: The judge ruled that the recording from Chance's wire was admissible, right?

Ronan: What about it?

Heather: Well, I listened to it again.

Ronan: You, what? You did what? Where did you get that?

Heather: It fell into my hands.

Ronan: Do you realize I could charge you with evidence tampering right now? Unless you want to face your own trial, leave this case alone. Leave the D.A. alone, and leave me alone.

Man: Hi, heather.

Heather: Oh, hi.

Man: Does this mean you're coming back? Are you gonna be my boss again?

Heather: Oh. (Chuckles) No, I wish. Um, a-actually, y-you--you could do me a favor.

Sharon: (Gasps) Jack, when did you get back?

Jack: Just now.

Sharon: Well, I told the D.A. that you found Skye’s perfume bottle in Hawaii. He didn't care. He thinks I planted it there.

Jack: What was the number of the P.O. box where the perfume was delivered?

Sharon: 18.

Jack: This is the key to box 18.

Adam: Jack, that's Skye’s keychain.

Jack: I know. You definitely saw Skye in Hawaii. This'll help you prove it.

Adam: Where'd you find this?

Jack: It was turned in by a local to, uh, the lost and found at Koa's general store.

Adam: Jack, this is her good luck charm.

Jack: Well, it seems to be yours now.

Sharon: The D.A. can't deny this. Jack, thank you.

Jack: Don't thank me. I didn't do this to help you. And if it gets this bastard out of jail, it may turn out to be the worst possible thing I could ever do for you.

Adam: I guess I'm just lucky that you despise my father more than you want to see me behind bars.

Jack: Well, look at that. Good luck charm's already working.

Victoria: Uh, okay, so I know I've been a little distracted lately, but I've noticed also a lot of hang-ups whenever I walk into the room, and that you've been a little secretive, and you've been a little preoccupied.

Billy: You've been having a hard time. I just didn't want to burden you with my stuff.

Victoria: What? What stuff?

(Cell phone rings)

Billy: (Sighs) Yo, Phyllis, what's up?

Phyllis: Um, I-I-I--really I think I have a story for you. Um, can you come to the hospital?

Billy: Now?

Phyllis: Yeah. (Sighs) Jack is headed over with some news.

Billy: Okay, I'm on my way.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Billy: (Sighs) Jack's got a story. I gotta--I gotta--

Victoria: Is that what's been going on? I mean, is that what it is? You're on the trail of a story--

Billy: Honey, I-I owe you an explanation. I owe you breakfast you’re gonna have to wait.

Victoria: Well--

Billy: I'm sorry. I love you.

Victoria: I love you, too.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Victor: All right, bring him in.

Michael: You don't want wait for Nick?

Victor: There.

Michael: Hey, you're just in time.

Nick: Hello.

Victor: Speaking of the devil. Son, I, uh, appreciate you showing up. I appreciate your loyalty, especially now.

Michael: Okay. Shall I?

Victor: Let's go.

Michael: All right. Yes, Scott. Come on in. You remember Scott Wolf from the Financial News network.

Victor: Hello, Scott. I do remember you, indeed. I think last time we had a press conference, you asked some very, very good questions-- very insightful.

Scott: Thank you.

Victor: Yep. This is my son Nicholas.

Nick: Nice to meet you.

Scott: I understand what a challenging set of circumstances you're facing, and I appreciate your granting the interview.

Victor: And I appreciate you being here-- gives us a chance to calm the waters, alleviate any concerns that may have arisen because of yesterday's rather questionable ruling.

Victor: So shall we get started?

[Victoria remembering]

Victoria: (Clears throat)

Victor: Why are you doing this?

Victoria: You left me no choice.

Victor: You laid the groundwork for the sale when you were in Dubai.

Victoria: You know why I went to Dubai in the first place. It was so that the Savaneur stockholders wouldn't panic, and I misled them about your health. You trained me very well, Dad.

Victor: So you justify your actions by telling a lie?

Victoria: (Scoffs) You're accusing me of lying? Well, I have watched you justify yourself for years. You do and you say whatever to get what you want. And you just convince yourself that it's for me or for Abby or for Mom or for the best for Newman. And the truth and the lies just start to blend together, and you don't even know what's real and what isn't anymore.

Victor: You stop this right now, or you will destroy the very company that built this family.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Victor: Uh, that is correct. The judge did order that we freeze a third of our assets-- not as a penalty, you understand, but as a precaution. Unnecessary and unwarranted in our view. Nevertheless, we have complied.

Scott: Won't that have a devastating impact on your operations?

Victor: Not at all.

Scott: No?

Victor: Reaction to this has been blown so far out of proportion.

Scott: But I'm sure you wish you could have avoided the situation.

Victor: I'll tell you, the one regret I have is that I failed to appreciate the full extent of my daughters' ingratitude. I learned too late what a mistake it was indulging them as they were growing up. There's no doubt in my mind we wouldn't be in this situation if I'd done less of that.

Phyllis: Oh, God. God, Victor. (Sighs)

Scott: Have you and your management team had time to develop a response to the crisis?

Billy: What are you listening to?

Phyllis: Uh, your father-in-law live.

Billy: Oh, Boy.

Phyllis: Yeah, he's waxing eloquent about what a spoiled brat your wife is.

Billy: Oh, wow. I hope whatever Jack has, it's enough to pin his ass to the wall.

Phyllis: Mm, we'll see. Hey. Oh, you're watching it too.

Jack: And lovin' it.

Phyllis: You are?

Jack: He's diggin' his own grave live on camera. Watch.

Victor: I can assure you when all the facts have come to light it'll be clear to everyone I've done absolutely nothing wrong. These unjust accusations were motivated by greed, unmitigated greed.

Vance: One second. I want to hear this.

Victor: They're wholly without merit. It's been very trying, as I'm sure you can imagine, to have my integrity called into question by members of my own family.

Kyle: Look. Its Victor and Nick.

Diane: What are they saying?

Kyle: Oh, I just turned it on.

Diane: Bonnie just finished a batch of cookies. She's gonna need a taste tester.

Kyle: I'm on it.

Victor: I'm very grateful to have my son Nicholas as my ally and my right-hand man. He is someone that I can trust absolutely.

Victor: Mr. Wolf, in a year from now, I expect Newman Enterprises to be in a very strong position. I see a lot of opportunities in all the developing countries.

Scott: You don't see yourselves being hampered by this lawsuit in any significant way?

Victor: I don’t. Do you, Son?

Nick: No, Sir.

Victor: We will do what Newman Enterprises has always done best-- we'll work very hard for our fellow investors and partners and employees.

Scott: Mr. Newman, thank you very much for your time today.

Victor: Mr. Wolf, a pleasure as always.

Scott: I'll let you get back to work. You're gonna have your hands full for a while.

Victor: Thank you.

Michael: All right, I'll walk you out.

Nick: Thanks for coming down.

Victor: You have a nice day.

Michael: There you go.

Victor: All right. I think that went well.

Nick: You said all the right things. Too bad they weren't all true. We can work on getting a judge to lift the ruling, but if the consortium breaks up in the meantime, it just won't matter. The Dubai project sale will fall through.

Victor: Angelides will hold them together.

Nick: Angelides is not taking my phone calls right now.

Victor: Oh, really? I'll call him.

Nick: We already missed out on the Korean shipyard deal. They announced this morning. They're goin' with Miyoshi. I spent six months in those negotiations.

Victor: Yeah, I just heard that we have to withdraw our bid for Goliath Chemical.

Michael: All right, uh, they are threatening to file a breach of contract lawsuit.

Nick: This is gonna mean layoffs.

Victor: Yeah, if that has to happen, we'll start with Beauty of Nature. I want those people who get the axes to understand that your sister's responsible for them losing their jobs.

Nick: I'll issue a directive to all the department heads to start reworking their budgets for the fiscal year, identify a 10% cut.

Michael: Uh, 10%? That's gonna cause a panic.

Nick: H.R. will identify the top performers. I will reassure them personally that they're not at risk.

Michael: Yeah, well, those are the people with other opportunities. If they start racing for the exit, you jeopardize--

Victor: Listen to me. (Sighs) I started this company... with nothing, from the ground up, built it into one of the biggest corporations in the world. And now it's under siege from within my own family. Well, Gentlemen, if they think they have won, they have another thing coming. If Jack Abbott and Tucker McCall think they're going to pick up the spoils... I will declare war on them. And the war will start right now. No one threatens me and gets away with it.

Nick: It's been a while since I've seen him like that.

Michael: Um... I was gonna go over and visit, uh, Phyllis at the hospital. Do you want to come?

Nick: I'll cruise by there later. Right now, there's someone else I need to deal with.

Billy: Yo, Buddy. I think you're doing it a little too much on this beauty sleep. You're lookin' kinda scruffy.

Phyllis: (Chuckles) Yeah, he is. He is. Abby offered to give him a shave, but... I should have taken her up on it, actually. She's been here a lot. She's been really great.

Jack: Daniel, did you hear that? There's apparently been a peace summit between your mother and your girlfriend.

Phyllis: No, there's not. No, there's not. No, there's not.

Jack: It's safe to wake up now.

Phyllis: (Sighs) No peace summit between Victor and Victoria, right?

Jack: Boy, am I newly impressed with your wife. She really went for the jugular in that mediation.

Billy: Yeah, she's got "Raging Bull" against the ropes, no doubt. Now we just have to finish him off.

Jack: Oh, I think I may be able to help there.

Billy: Hmm.

Phyllis: Okay, what did you find in Hawaii?

Billy: You went to Hawaii?

Jack: Oh, boy, did I.

Sharon: That's Skye’s keychain.

Vance: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: You see it there in the photo?

Vance: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: This photo is directly from Newman security cameras. The key opens the P.O. box that Skye had her perfume delivered to in Hawaii. And Jack found the bottle in a shack that was recently burned to the ground.

Vance: Hmm. How do you do this?

Sharon: Well, Jack did it. He believed me when I told him that I saw Skye.

Vance: No, no, no. That's not what I mean. I mean, the man despises Adam, yet you convince him to travel thousands of miles, track down this evidence... ever thought about being a lawyer?

Sharon: Well, I might have to be, if I can't convince you to sign back on to Adam’s case.

Vance: I will take this to the D.A. right now. Yeah.

Man: (Quietly) I'll lose my job if Spencer finds out about this.

Heather: (Quietly) No, no, no. He won’t. Not from me. Thank you.

Chris: Good. We have a lot to catch up on.

Adam: (Sighs) Hey. So did you meet with Vance?

Sharon: He's back on board. He went to talk to the D.A.

Adam: (Sighs heavily) You know, this is all happening because of you.

Sharon: Well, we don't know what Spencer’s gonna say yet.

Adam: Yeah, Vance wouldn't bother, though, if he didn't think we could get anywhere with it.

Sharon: He did sound optimistic.

Adam: I cannot wait till I can hold you again.

Jack: It is totally your call whether to run with this story. I mean, there are risks. I do not have absolute proof that Victor spirited Skye out of town.

Billy: Yeah, but come on. Do you have any doubt?

Jack: Not even the slightest. There is one other thing to consider, though-- how this affects Adam. You cause a public uproar. You make him a cause celeb. It could force the D.A.'s hand. You may not want that on your conscience. I, for one, am having a little trouble with this myself-- the fact that I did something that could well open his jail cell.

Billy: Right. But this is the lesser of two evils. You can't let Victor get away with this, right?

Phyllis: You know, I'm sitting next to my son here, and...it reminds me of when I was in this hospital with Summer. I mean, I didn't know if she was gonna be okay. You'd think that Victor would learn from that, right? That he would learn from Colleen's death, that he would learn something, and he hasn’t. I think you should go for it.

(Keys jingle)

Victor: Oh.

Diane: Hello.

Victor: Diane, I had forgotten.

Diane: Moving day. (Chuckles)

Victor: Uh-huh. Where's Kyle?

Diane: Eating you out of house and home.

Victor: Oh, Boy. Mm-hmm.

Diane: Uh, so I had some thoughts about how to steal space for the new guest suite.

Victor: Diane, if you don't mind, uh, not now. I just have other things on my mind, okay?

Diane: I know.

Victor: (Sighs)

Diane: I saw the interview.

Victor: If you'll excuse me...

Diane: Victor?

Victor: Yeah?

Diane: (Sighs) I just--I want to let you know that I'm very sorry for what you're going through. As long as I've known you, your two greatest loves have been your children and your company. You've poured everything you have into them. Now one is trying to destroy the other. It must be very painful.

Victor: Oh, you sound like you mean it. I'll get through it.

Diane: I know you will.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Diane: In that interview, you made it sound easy. But I know it's not.

Victor: (Chuckles)

Diane: Is there anything I can do to help?

Victor: Unh-unh.

Nick: You know, it was one thing for you to make your point with Dad. I didn't like it, but I got it. But now you have gone too far.

Victoria: Oh, all right. Okay, so when this lawsuit was just a symbolic gesture, it wasn't a problem, but now that we have an actual chance of winning--

Nick: So this is your idea of winning? Getting rid of thousands of jobs for our people? Handing business to our competitors without a second thought?

Victoria: (Sighs) You know what? You should be having this conversation with Dad, because this would have been over a long time ago. It would have never gotten to this point.

Nick: And all he had to do was admit to mismanaging the trust, which never happened, Vick.

Victoria: Well, you know what? That's debatable.

Nick: No, this is a debate you knew you were going to lose, which is why you resorted to lying about Dubai.

Victoria: I didn't lie. I presented the mediator with the information, and it was his determination that--

Nick: Don't give me that! You knew we were gonna sell that property from day one. Look me in the eye, and tell me that's wrong. That's what I thought.

Victoria: Oh, come on, Nick. We both know that Dad is capable of these tactics that we accused him of. He said himself he'd rather see Newman burn to the ground than for me to get what I'm entitled to.

Nick: We all know what Dad is capable of, Vick. The real surprise here is you. You know, just before Christmas, I remember you telling me that I was turning into him. And that hit me. That really hit me.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Nick: So I took a long look at myself. Well, now I'm lookin' at you, and it's pretty clear which one of us got Dad's vindictiveness, his greed, and selfishness.

Victoria: That is not true.

Nick: You don't care how many people you use to get back at him, or how many people you hurt.

Billy: Get out of my house.

Diane: Bonnie mentioned it's the chef's day off. As crazy as things are at work, you still have to eat, don't you? I could whip something up, break in my new kitchen.

Victor: (Laughs)

Diane: (Chuckles)

Victor: I don't remember you ever being in the kitchen.

Diane: Well, I suppose-- I suppose I wasn't when we were together, but I've had to learn for Kyle’s sake.

Victor: Oh, yeah?

Diane: If you want a frank assessment of your cooking skills, ask a little boy. He'll give it to you straight.

Victor: So you're good at hot dogs and mac and cheese, right?

Diane: You are a skeptic...

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Diane: Aren't you? My mac and cheese, I'll have you know, is delectable.

Victor: Oh, really?

Diane: It is.

Victor: Wow.

Diane: I use prosciutto and sautéed shallots.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Diane: And I'm not gonna tell you what else, because you'll steal the recipe, and you'll turn it into some kind of billion-dollar business.

Victor: So you're withdrawing your invitation? Is that it?

Diane: No. Are you accepting my invitation?

Victor: I'm very hungry.

Diane: Well, then I'll...

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Diane: See what I can scrounge up in your fridge.

Victor: You do that.

(Doorbell rings)

Jack: Victor, how's it going?

Victor: I think you already know the answer to that, don't you, Jack? Otherwise, you wouldn't be here, would you?

Jack: Yeah. I saw your interview. Well, not to worry. I didn't come here to revel in your misfortune.

Victor: Oh, no?

Jack: No. I came here to tell you things are about to get much, much worse.

Victor: When will you ever learn that you will never get the upper hand with me?

(Keys jingle)

Vance: Hi, Adam. Good to see you.

Adam: (Sighs)

Sharon: Did you talk to the D.A.?

Vance: I did.

Adam: You showed him the keychain. What'd he say?

Vance: (Sighs)

Chris: Maybe you should have drawn Heather out and found out how far her investigation has gone.

Ronan: Well, it doesn't really matter now, because I already shut her down.

Chris: Can you be sure?

Ronan: I'm sure. I let her have it.

Spencer: Sorry for the interruption. (Sighs)

Ronan: So what was that about?

Spencer: New evidence in the Newman case. I'll fill you in later.

Ronan: Okay.

Spencer: So is Heather Stevens gonna be a problem?

Ronan: No.

Chris: She might. (Sighs) I've heard a lot about Heather from Paul over the years. She is persistent and strong-willed, and if you underestimate her--

Ronan: And I won't underestimate her. I'm already acquainted in dealing with her stubborn side. I mean, this is the woman that got me to go to Nina’s on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Chris: How did she manage that?

Ronan: She's persistent. Anyway, I know what I'm dealing with. And I also know what her career means to her. So I just threatened to arrest her for evidence tampering.

Spencer: Did she believe you? I mean, if you two are so friendly then, well--

Ronan: It wasn't friendly. And she does believe me, yes.

Chris: I hope so.

Ronan: She does. Trust me, Heather's going to back off.

Heather: (Sighs) Thank you for meeting me. Um, I have some questions for the E.M.T.s who were on the scene the night Phillip Chancellor died, but for some reason, their names don't appear in the record. I do have this photo, though.

Man: I don't know them.

Heather: Well, are they, uh, maybe recent hires?

Man: I'm in charge of training, have been for years. They're not on our staff.

Sharon: The D.A. must realize by now that Skye’s murder was a hoax.

Vance: Well, if he does, he made no indication to me. He did say he would show the new evidence to a judge.

Adam: When does that happen?

Vance: Already has. We're just waiting for a ruling to come down.

Sharon: What do you think he'll say?

Vance: Well, no guarantees, but it's possible they'll grant bail.

(Cell phone rings)

Vance: Excuse me. Yeah? Mm-hmm.

Adam: (Sighs)

Sharon: This could be the last night you spend in here.

Adam: (Sighs)

Jack: Well, you seem awfully confident for a man about to take a fall.

Victor: (Chuckles) You're as happy as a child at Christmas. But then, I shouldn't use that analogy, because you have never spent a minute with any of your own children at Christmas, have you?

Jack: I guess it remains to be seen whether any of your children will be visiting you in prison.

Kyle: Dad!

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Kyle: I thought I heard you. Did you come to check out our new home?

Victor: Did you like the video setup?

Kyle: Oh, the surround sound is killer. Thank you.

Victor: You're welcome, my boy.

Diane: Hey, Kyle, we're gonna be making dinner for Victor -- oh. I didn't realize you were here.

Victor: I don't think Jack had an idea that you and Kyle were both here. Did you, Jack?

Jack: Explain. Now.

Phyllis: I saw Victor's interview. I suppose you're responsible for that.

Michael: Actually, I am not here to talk to the editor in chief of "Restless Style." I'm here to talk to Daniel’s mother. How is he?

Phyllis: The same. The doctor tells me not to worry, but...

Daniel: Mom?

Phyllis: No, no, no. Stay down. Stay down. Stay down. Take it easy.

Daniel: What am I doing here?

Phyllis: Daniel, listen. New Year’s Eve, remember? Do you remember that? With Daisy?

Daniel: Yeah.

Victoria: It's okay. I can handle it. It--it's fine.

Billy: You shouldn't have to. What are you still doing here?

Nick: I said what I needed to say.

Billy: Good.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Billy: Mm. Mnh-mnh. Mnh-mnh, mnh-mnh, mnh-mnh. Don't listen to him. He's full of it.

Victoria: He's right, though. I acted like my father.

Billy: Really? You acted like your father? Then why isn't Nick over here kissing your butt? That's what he does to his daddy. He's just sore that he picked the losing side. That's all.

Victoria: I've lost my father. Now I've lost my brother. I lost my son. (Sighs) I'm running out of family to lose.

Billy: (Quietly) Prim, it's Billy. We're gonna do this tonight. Yeah, I'll have the other half of the money. You just... you just bring our daughter.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Chris: What's wrong with Ronan?

Nina: He could be dying.

Billy: Where's the baby?

Prim: Wire me the second million. I'll bring you your little girl.

Jack: Do not use Victor Newman against me. Bad things happen.
