Kevin: (Quietly) hello? Hey, where are you?

Chloe: I'm just getting a coffee fix. So how's Jana doing?

Kevin: Um, well, I kept her awake as long as I could. Doctor's orders. I think we both conked out sometime around 7:00.

Chloe: Oh. Oh, I'm-- did I wake you? I'm sorry.

Kevin: Mm, it's just as well. I didn't want to sleep the whole day away. Um, any news on Daniel?

Chloe: He's still unconscious.

Kevin: You know, the only bright spot in all of this is you in your pajamas and your bunny slippers chasing me down outside of jimmy's on new year's eve, finally admitting that you have feelings for me.

Chloe: Well, it took me long enough.

Kevin: Should I expect that you're always gonna be this clueless?

Chloe: When it comes to men, yeah.

Kevin: Well, don't go lumping me in with all those other losers.

Chloe: (Chuckles) so, uh, so how-- how soon is it gonna be till we actually get to, I don't know, spend some time with each other?

Kevin: I gotta go. Talk to you later?

Chloe: Okay. You better.

Kevin: (Sighs) how are you feeling?

Jana: What happened? Oh, I have such a bad headache. (Sighs) did I drink that-- did I drink that much champagne last night?

Kevin: Champagne?

Jana: Yeah, at dinner. Oh, god. Kev, I owe you an apology. You went through all that trouble to be so romantic, and I was really unappreciative. I feel so ashamed of myself. (Sighs)

Jack: I just saw the doctor leave. Any news?

Phyllis: Thanks. Um, unh-unh. No. It's inconclusive. They don't know, uh, when he's gonna wake up... if he's gonna wake up... and what condition he'll be in when he does. So I just, uh, you know, sit here and--and wait.

Phyllis: I did this, jack. I did this. I got daisy released from prison. I did this.

Jack: Stop blaming yourself. Are you listening to me?

Phyllis: (Whispering) hey, Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. Hey. It's your mom. (Normal voice) it's your mom. Daniel, wake up, please. Wake up, Daniel. Here's gotta be

Adam: (Sighs) oh, god, there's gotta be a way to prove that Skye was in Hawaii somehow.

Sharon: What about the investigators you sent there?

Leslie: Yeah, well, we spoke this morning. Still no leads. Really, it's been one dead end after another.

Sharon: All right, so what do we do now?

Leslie: Well, I have a call into Vance to see how he wants to proceed. Once I know, you'll know. Okay?

Sharon: (Sighs)

Adam: (Groans) we'll get through this. We'll get through this somehow.

Sharon: Yeah, let's just hope that happens sooner rather than later.

Adam: What's wrong?

Sharon: I just ran into nick today. He's furious with me.

Adam: What? He heard about your trip?

Sharon: Yeah. Now he's threatened me. He wants to sue for full custody.

Adam: What?! Why would he-- why would he do something like that after everything you've been through with here?

Sharon: I just can't imagine how this can get any worse. Adam, if we don't find evidence that Skye is alive, I could lose my little girl.

Nick: Mom, it really helps knowing you'll support me going after full custody.

Nikki: Honey, I know it's not a decision you made lightly. But given Sharon's outrageous behavior, you have no choice.

Nick: I know. I will not allow Adam to be a part of faith's life.

Nikki: You just let me know if you need any help looking after her or summer.

Nick: Thanks, mom. You're the best.

Victor: Hi.

Esther: Oh, boy. That picture of daisy on the run in Canada, it's all over the news, TV. I feel so sorry for that baby that she--she's carrying. I wonder what's gonna happen to it. What do you think?

Chloe: I don't know. Probably nothing good.

Esther: Oh, and poor Jana getting carjacked.

Chloe: Mom, let's not forget about Daniel, okay? He was a victim, too.

Esther: Oh, I hope they're both gonna be all right.

Chloe: Well, last I heard, Daniel's still unconscious, and Jana, I'm not sure how she's doing. I mean, she stayed over at Kevin's on account of her concussion. But I called earlier, and I mean, there's no word. She's still sleeping.

Esther: Wait, wait, wait. You and Kevin are speaking again? Because the other night, you--

Chloe: I know. The other night, I was upset, and I said a lot of stupid things. Then I realized... I realized I want to be with Kevin. Like, be with him.

Esther: Oh, sweetie. I am so glad, 'cause anyone can see that he is crazy about you.

Chloe: And, well, as soon as Jana's all better and ready to be on her own, the Kevin and I can be more than just friends.

Kevin: So what don't you tell me what you remember about last night?

Jana: Well... you took me to the athletic club for a very romantic dinner. Oh, god, you even reserved the honeymoon suite, didn't you? Kev, why do you look so confused?

Kevin: Jana, um... (sighs) you're not making any sense right now.

Jana: Yeah, I know. Everything is kind of a blur still. I do remember there was something about caviar, though. I just don't remember actually eating it. Oh, things were a bit tense between us, weren't they? 'Cause I've been spending so much time with Ryder lately. Don't be mad, okay? But I do think that there is a connection between daisy and Ryder, you know?

Kevin: Right. Right. We've known about that for some time.

Jana: No, no, no, no, no. But it goes back even further than that. I-I think that they may have known each other when they were kids.

Kevin: W-what's the date today?

Jana: February 19th.

Kevin: 2010?

Jana: (Chuckles) what is wrong with you? You're starting to scare me.

Kevin: Okay. Okay. I think I need to take you to the doctor.

Jana: No, why?

Kevin: Uh, you, uh, you know. You--you--you--your head hurts. And you can't remember things, and I think it's best if we just get you checked out. Why don't we, uh... let's go now.

Jana: What? Okay. Really?

Kevin: Yeah, really. Here you go.

Sharon: All we need is one tiny shred of evidence that she left here alive and that he went to Hawaii.

Adam: (Sighs) I still think victor's our best lead.

Sharon: I asked him point blank if he helped Skye disappear.

Adam: Let me guess. He said he wasn't involved.

Sharon: It's still hard for me to believe that he would do something like this, something so cruel, to his own son.

Adam: Still, Sharon, as close as you two are, you have to know he would no sooner look you in the eyes and smile than stare you in the face and lie, especially if it meant seeing me fry.

Victor: So... what brings you by?

Nikki: Um, I came to see Nicholas.

Victor: Mm. You find him?

Nikki: Yes, I did.

Victor: Good. (Sighs) here we are.

Nikki: Yep.

Nick: I hope I'm not interrupting.

Jack: (Sighs) no, actually, your timing is great. I'm on my way out of here to get something to maybe tempt this one to eat. You mind keeping her company until I get back?

Nick: I'd be glad to.

Jack: Thanks.

Nick: How's he doing?

Phyllis: The doctors told me to be patient, that it'll take time...

Phyllis: Time. (Sighs) what if he doesn't have any time?

Phyllis: Thinking of Cassíe, aren't you? I'm thinking of her, too. She's kind of all I'm thinking about. I just wonder... (sighs) I keep on thinking about, um, the last conversation we had. It wasn't very good. (Chuckles) (voice breaking) it wasn't a good conversation. I just keep on wondering if that's the last conversation that I'm ever gonna have with him. And I just keep on wondering if that's just the last time we're--we're ever gonna talk. I keep on wondering if I'm ever gonna see those beautiful blue eyes anymore. (Sniffles) (sighs) (whispering) oh, god. Nick. (Sighs) what if she doesn't wake up?

Nick: It may not seem like it, but you being here-- it is helping.

Phyllis: Mm. You don't know that.

Nick: It was enough for summer. It will be enough for Daniel.

Phyllis: This is karma. (Sighs) this is karma. I'm finally getting my payback. Finally.

Nick: Not all karma's bad. Daniel's a great kid. He's been doing everything right lately. Look at the way he stepped up for daisy and the baby. I guarantee you, he is gonna keep on making us proud.

Phyllis: Everybody told me what daisy was like.

Everybody told me, but I didn't listen. I thought I was right. Everybody else was wrong. I-I had all the answers. That's what I thought. And now... I look at him, and I did this to him. I did this. I was so irresponsible. (Sighs)

Nick: You just did what you thought was right for the baby.

Phyllis: I know, but that doesn't really help me now.

Nick: All right, listen to me. Things happen. They just happen. And you're gonna drive yourself crazy trying to make sense of it. The good news is, things can't stay bad forever. Summer got better. Daniel is gonna get better, too.

Phyllis: You don't know that for sure.

Nick: But I can choose to believe in a positive outcome. I can focus my energy on the people who need me, not on my own fear.

Kevin: Then I woke up, and it was just crazy, like the whole last year just didn't happen.

Dr. Sachs: Well, she suffered a lot of brain trauma-- the stress of being kidnapped, an aneurysm, now a concussion.

Kevin: So you're saying that it's, like, cumulative, or is this just from her hitting her head last night?

Dr. Sachs: I won't know until I examine her.

Kevin: Okay.

Jana: (Sighs) hi. It's a lot of forms to fill out for a silly hangover and a bump on the head. Don't you think?

Dr. Sachs: You know, as long as you're here, I'd like to run some tests-- a C.T. Scan, neurological workup.

Jana: Really? You think-- you think that's necessary?

Dr. Sachs: Can't hurt. I'll walk you down to radiology.

Jana: Okay, well, you're coming too, right?

Kevin: Um, I'm-- I'll wait here. And I'll be-- I'll be here when you're done.

Kevin: (Sighs) (sighs) hi, it's me. I'm at memorial.

Chloe: Is it Daniel?

Kevin: No, it's Jana. You know how some people lose their keys? Well, Jana lost 2010.

Chloe: What?

Kevin: It's really scary. She's in with a neurologist right now.

Chloe: Okay, I-I'm on my way. I'll be right there. (Sighs)

Jack: A large cinnamon latte and a turkey club to go, please. Throw--throw in a-a brownie, too, okay? Thanks.

Sharon: (Clears throat) um, hey. How's Daniel?

Jack: No change. The doctors say all we can do is wait.

Sharon: I'm really sorry to hear that. I'll think good thoughts for him.

Jack: Thanks.

Sharon: Jack, you know, when I ran into you and Phyllis in the airport, um, obviously, she isn't going to believe anything I have to say, but you... I was hoping you would keep an open mind, because everything I told you was the truth.

Jack: Why do you care what I think? I'm not the police.

Sharon: Nick threatened to go before a judge and take full custody of faith. The only way I can stop him is to prove that Adam isn't a murderer.

Jack: Isn't a murderer this time.

Sharon: I saw Skye. She was standing as close to me as you are sitting right now. I took a picture of her with my camera. But then we were struggling over it, and that was when she... (sighs) she fell. I held onto her for as long as I could. But we were both wearing gloves, and I just-- I wasn't strong enough, and she--she just-- she slipped from my grasp. Jack, I watched her die. It's not an image I'm gonna get out of my head any time soon.

Jack: It's a heck of a story, Sharon.

Sharon: All right, look, I-I know that that's hard to believe. I-I realize that. But if just--if one person would believe in me--

Jack: They would have to overlook a lot of very damning evidence, evidence that says that there's no way Skye could have been out hiking on an evening in Hawaii last week.

Sharon: Adam thinks that victor was the one who got Skye out of town and set him up for her murder.

Jack: You've always been one of victor's biggest defenders. You believe that?

Sharon: I don't know. But I know that Skye did not die the night that fund collapsed, and I know that Adam was set up. Jack, if even a small part of you cared about that woman, don't you think you owe it to her to find out what really happened? That maybe Adam was right? Wasn't it?

Victor: Yeah, it was.

Nikki: It was great to see reed. And Noah, my god, for him to cut his trip short with his friends so he could be with his family at Christmas... at that age, believe me, I know what a sacrifice that was, and I really was very impressed by that.

Victor: Yeah. He obviously rearranged his priorities.

Nikki: Did you get the pictures?

Victor: No, I don't think I did. I didn't see anything.

Nikki: Oh. Uh, well, you know, I thought I did. Maybe I didn't. I've been rather discombobulated trying to settle in at Katherine's.

Victor: Oh, is that where you're staying now?

Nikki: Uh, just temporarily, until I find my own place.

Victor: Well, I think that's a good idea. You know, if anyone can help you with your recovery, it's Katherine. Let's see if I received any of the pictures. Here, let's check it.

Nikki: Oh, okay. Go ahead.

Chloe: Jana seemed fine. I mean, she was a little shaky, but she was fine when you took her home. And now all of a sudden, she's just forgotten everything?

Kevin: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I was asking her all these questions in the car on the ride over.

Chloe: Yeah? Like what? What'd you ask her?

Kevin: Um, like what did she remember about last night. Only to her, last night is the night that she got kidnapped, and she doesn't even remember that.

Chloe: Just the part when you took her to dinner.

Kevin: Yeah, she's bringing up all these tiny details about the night, you know, stuff that I haven't thought about since then. Like, um, there was this torn photo of Ryder and daisy as kids, and I had totally forgotten about it.

Chloe: Do you think it's legit?

Kevin: (Sighs) I have no idea.

Dr. Sachs: Uh, if you'll come inside, I have Jana's test results.

Kevin: Yeah.

Jana: Chloe. What are you doing here at the hospital? Is--is everything okay? Is--is--it's not chance, is it?

Phyllis: So did you-- did you tell summer about Daniel?

Nick: I told her there was an accident, but I didn't go into a lot of detail. So whenever you're ready, we can talk to her together, if you'd like.

Phyllis: Yeah, okay. Thank you for, um, for talking to our daughter. Thanks for being here. Thanks. Thank you. Thanks... for understanding.

Nick: I will always care about Daniel... just like I'll always care about you.

Phyllis: Ditto.

Phyllis: He's gonna be okay, right? He'll be okay, right? (Voice breaking) right?

Nick: He's gonna be okay.

Phyllis: (Sobs)

Nick: He's gonna be okay.

Phyllis: (Sobs) (door opens) (keys jingle)

Jack: Hello, Adam.

Adam: You're about the last person I expected to see here.

Jack: I ran into Sharon at the crimson lights. She seems totally convinced that Skye was alive and well and living in Hawaii as recently as last week. (Sighs)

Adam: She was, thanks to my father who was behind this whole scam.

Jack: Yes, so you've been saying for some time now. Initially, I thought this was just more of your propaganda, but... if Sharon is right, I want to know more.

Adam: Ask away.

Jack: Why don't you start by telling me your theory? How did victor mastermind Skye's disappearance and why? Why would he want to do that?

Victor: Well, thanks for sharing these with me.

Nikki: Everybody looks so happy.

Victor: Yeah. I wish they had continued to be happy after the festivities. They just started up vilifying me again.

Nikki: Well, victor, you didn't exactly extend the warmth after the holiday either.

Victor: I'd rather not discuss that, all right? You know how I feel.

Nikki: Yeah.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: Listen, um, would it be all right if I came by the ranch from time to time just to ride my horse, visit with segundo? There's just a lot of things there that still mean a lot to me.

Victor: Come any time you feel like it. I'm sure segundo will love to see you.

Nikki: The ranch is very special to me. I-I don't think that'll ever change.

Victor: Yeah. We made a lot of memories there, didn't we?

Adam: The hedge fund collapses. Skye disappears, and my father, he hops on his jet for a sudden extended business trip. If this doesn't reek of collusion--

Jack: What about the blood they found in your hotel suite and on the clothes that phyllis and I found?

Adam: That was a plant from skye and my dear old dad. Now we're not talking about buckets of blood here. We're talking about a finite amount of blood. She could have cut herself. This woman wouldn't have even flinched.

Jack: Why would she go along with a scheme like this?

Adam: The fund had just collapsed. She'd just lost her sterling, genius reputation on wall street. She'd lost me long before that. There was nothing left for her in genoa city. Let's not forget-- these two, they've teamed up together in the past.

Jack: It's a hell of a stretch.

Adam: Don't tell me you've forgotten about how my father took you for millions when he was screwing me over. This is exactly the kind of thing that he would do. (Footsteps approach)

Adam: You know it, and-- sharon, what are you doing here?

Sharon: (Sighs) leslie called. She has some news.

Jack: Well, I'll be on my way.

Sharon: Jack, thank you for coming.

Jack: You have nothing to thank me for. I didn't do this for you. You're still on your own.

Jana: I don't mean to be rude, but, um, this is a private matter.

Kevin: Um, jana, uh, chloe's been very sup--

Chloe: It's okay. You know what? I'm gonna go wait outside. It's not a problem.

Chloe: Hey, guys. Hi.

Phyllis: Hey.

Chloe: What's goin' on with daniel?

Phyllis: Uh, the doctor is in with him. There's not a lot of room in there.

Chloe: So how is he?

Phyllis: Uh, he's still unconscious.

Nick: But we're hoping he's gonna come out of it very soon.

Chloe: Okay. Well, all of his friends are praying for him.

Phyllis: Thanks, chloe. How's jana? How's she doing?

Chloe: Well, that's why I'm here. She's had a setback.

Jana: So... what's going on? (Sighs) why do I need all these tests?

Dr. Sachs: The date is not february 19, 2010. It's 2011. In fact, we just celebrated a new year.

Jana: (Scoffs) uh, I don't understand.

Kevin: You've blocked out a big chunk of time.

Jana: How can that be?

Dr. Sachs: Well, you suffered an aneurysm sometime back, and then a concussion last night. Now I-it's possible that that triggered this memory lapse. But, uh, well, I can't rule out, uh, certain other factors.

Jana: (Sighs)

Kevin: So what happens now? More tests?

Dr. Sachs: Um, step outside with me. Uh, we'll only be a moment.

Jana: No, no. Please. Please don't go. Please don't go.

Kevin: Uh, I'm--I'm not. I'm just--I'm just gonna talk to the doctor. I'll be right back, okay? Okay?

Kevin: Okay, if I'm reading you correctly, are you saying that what's going on might not be physical?

Dr. Sachs: Well, considering all that jana's been through, it's not surprising that she'd regress to a period of time when things were calmer.

Kevin: Before the kidnapping, the whole daisy fiasco.

Chloe: Or the divorce.

Dr. Sachs: I've consulted with a psychologist on staff, uh, dr. Mason, and I have some recommendations. Although, I'm not sure you're gonna like them. Ooo ata gothe?

Phyllis: Yeah, defi

Jack: Sorry it took me so long. I got waylaid. Uh, crimson lights did deliver my order, right?

Phyllis: Yeah.

Jack: Oh, good. Good.

Phyllis: Yeah, definitely. Thank you.

Nick: It was good to get some food in her. You were right.

Phyllis: (Sighs) um, I-I'm gonna go check on daniel. Thank you for coming by.

Nick: If you need anything, call me.

Phyllis: I will.

Jack: I'll be right in, okay?

Jack: I, uh, I just came from seeing adam. He is adamant that your father framed him.

Nick: Okay, I'll bite. What did our evil dad do this time?

Jack: Victor helped skye fake her death, and then whisked her off in his jet to hawaii where sharon found her before she died.

Nick: (Chuckles) that is ridiculous.

Jack: Is it?

Nick: Yeah, it is. Dad and skye couldn't stand each other. Why would my dad lift a finger to help this woman?

Jack: Your dad and skye have worked together before in brazil and again when adam was suing everyone. If the price was right, she'd play along.

Nick: I'm sorry. I'm not buying it.

Jack: Does your father appreciate this kind of loyalty?

Nick: Do you remember the big storm we had last fall when the tornado wiped out all the power? Well, at some point, dad and skye were trapped in an elevator at newman enterprises.

Jack: Together?

Nick: Yeah. I was there when the door opened. Those two could not get away from each other fast enough.

Jack: Really? You have surveillance cameras in all of the newman elevators, right? How far back does your coverage go?

Nick: I'm not sure. But I doubt they were working. Remember, there was no power.

Jack: Would you at least look into it?

Nick: What is it you think I'm gonna find?

Jack: I don't know. But what's the harm in looking?

Sharon: Jack wouldn't have wasted his time coming here unless he thought there was something to this.

Adam: Yeah, but he smells blood in the water-- victor's blood. Sometimes that's all jack abbott needs.

Sharon: Or maybe he--

Adam: Leslie, hey. Sharon said you had some news. Did someone see skye?

Sharon: Did the P.I. Find some evidence that--

Leslie: Look, before you get too excited, word came down from vance. It isn't good. I'm afraid he's dropping you as his client.

Dr. Sachs: Dr. Mason and i believe that jana's reaction is almost certainly post-traumatic stress.

Kevin: Will she need some therapy?

Dr. Sachs: Uh, yes, uh, but it will be a slow, delicate process. Look, we can't bombard her with the information that she's lost at once.

Chloe: Okay, so then just don't bring up the kidnapping.

Kevin: What else?

Dr. Sachs: Until jana's had an evaluation and her therapist can recommend a definitive course of action, I'm afraid you're gonna have to humor her.

Chloe: Are you saying that we just--

Dr. Sachs: Treat jana as she perceives the world.

Kevin: She thinks we're still married. Are you saying I'm supposed to let her go on believing that?

Dr. Sachs: For now, yes.

Chloe: Hmm.So nothing spoils this

Kevin: Are you saying I'm supposed to pretend to be married to jana, doc? How am I supposed to do that?

Dr. Sachs: I realize this is asking a lot. But we have to be careful not to overwhelm her. Look, whatever information is revealed to jana over time should be at the psychologist's discretion.

Chloe: Over time? Over time? How much time are we talking here?

Kevin: Hours? Days? Weeks?

Dr. Sachs: We'll have to play it by ear. Excuse me, will you? I have to check on my patient.

Chloe: (Scoffs)

Kevin: Tell me this isn't happening.

Chloe: I know. We finally get to where we are now, and then--

Kevin: And now-- and now this.

Chloe: I know. It's really, really, really bad timing. Or it's perfect timing, depending on who you ask. (Sighs)

Kevin: (Sighs) I mean, she's all alone. She has nobody. I guess I feel some obligation to see her through this. (Sighs) well, we've waited this long. We can handle it, right?

Chloe: (Sighs) sure. (Sighs)

Jana: How could i have forgotten almost a year of my life?

Dr. Sachs: I understand. It's disturbing. But we will get to the bottom of this, okay? Now I'll have dr. Mason's office set up an appointment. Right now, you can go.

Jana: Go where?

Dr. Sachs: Home... to your husband.

Jana: (Sighs) yes. (Chuckles) oh, my husband. Oh, how much I've missed those words. (Chuckles) (sighs)

Phyllis: (Sighs) daniel. Daniel.

Phyllis: (Sobs) (voice breaking) I'm sorry. (Sighs) I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.

Phyllis: (Sobbing)

Victor: Well, thanks again.

Nikki: Um, for what? The pictures?

Victor: No, for not taking no for an answer.

Nikki: Ahh. Well, I must admit, every time I pleaded with you to spend christmas with the family, it was kinda like talking to a brick wall.

Victor: Yeah. Nevertheless, you insisted that I come, so I'm glad you did.

Nikki: I owe you a lot. You saved my life by getting me to rehab when you did.

Victor: It was something that had to be done. That's all.

Nikki: Somehow I have a feeling we'll always look after each other.

Victor: Yep. Hope so.

Nikki: Me, too.

Victor: All right.

Nikki: Okay, um, I will let you get back to work.

Victor: Okay.

Victor: (Sighs)

Leslie: The D.A. Is confident he can persuade a jury to convict with the evidence he has. Bottom line, vance doesn't think he can win.

Sharon: Well, so that's it? Uh, you just pull the plug?

Leslie: Well, no one else has come forward saying they saw her. There's nothing vance can use to his advantage.

Adam: You all are being paid to find something.

Leslie: (Sighs) vance's win-loss record is more important to him than money. He doesn't want the firm associated with a losing proposition.

Sharon: Okay, well, what about my trip and the fact that I saw skye alive?

Leslie: (Sighs) you know, I'm sorry. You're in a tough spot. I wish you both the best of luck.

Sharon: (Sighs)

Adam: (Sighs)

Sharon: What are we gonna do now?

Adam: Maybe our last hope. Maybe our only hope.

Sharon: Jack.

Nick: So when the elevator security cam shows that my dad and skye didn't say two words to each other--

Jack: It may, in fact, show just that. And I will have wasted your time, but I'm asking you to do it anyway as a favor to me.

Nick: (Sighs) yeah, you're hoping I will help you get something on my dad. I'm really looking forward to that.

Jack: I realize I am putting you in an awkward position, asking you to choose between helping me and protecting your father. Look... nick, I'm appealing to your sense of decency. Skye was no hero. But she was a human being, a woman in the prime of her life, a woman I happened to think a great deal of. And I would like to know who is ultimately responsible for her death.
