Sharon: Leslie's computer artist was great. He made the photo of Skye look exactly like she did when she was in Hawaii.

Adam: Good. Somebody else had to see her. We just gotta get someone to come forward. (Footsteps approach)

Sharon: Oh, I was just telling Adam about the new photo of Skye.

Leslie: Yeah. Vance sent our top investigator to Hawaii with it. He's been asking around.

Adam: (Purses lips) any luck?

Leslie: Not yet. Skye must have kept a low profile while she was there.

Adam: Low profile? I don't know. That--that woman was, uh, very much an "eyes on me" kind of a person. You okay?

Sharon: Yeah, I just-- I keep reliving the moment that her hand slipped out of mine. You know, I went to Hawaii to prove that Skye was still alive, and she would have been if I-I could have just held on.

Adam: It wasn't your fault. Sharon, it was an accident.

Leslie: Yeah. There's nothing we can do for Skye now. Let's just focus on Adam, what we can do to help him.

Adam: Listen, low-profile or not, Skye had to eat. She needed the basic necessities, and believe me, the basic necessities to her was a-a luxury to most people. Someone out there knows the truth.

Leslie: (Sighs)

Nick: You're back.

Victor: Hi, son. That surprises you?

Nick: Yeah. I've had some problems wrapping up the takahashi merger. I've been trying to find you.

Victor: You take care of it?

Nick: Yeah, I took care of it.

Victor: Good.

Nick: So you gonna tell me where you've been?

Neil: All right, sending the chart. Let's move on to tax assessments, all right?

Sofia: I don't have that yet.

Neil: What do you mean, you don't have that yet? Are--are--are you serious?

Sofia: I left a message with Blake. He said he was on it. Hopefully, he'll be sending it.

Cane: All right, listen, I'm sorry. I know it's in the middle of the night, but I need the information right away. (Sighs) listen, come on, mate. There's gotta be someone you can call, all right? There's--there's gotta be someone who knows about local tax incentives. (Sighs) I-I can't wait till morning. (Sighs)

Lily: Oh, I guess the holidays are officially over if you're back to work.

Cane: (Sighs) yeah. Where are you going looking so beautiful?

Lily: (Chuckles) just to run some errands. But don't worry. Martha's coming to sit with the twins so you can stay focused. And they're asleep, and Humphrey's already been out. So you have nothing to distract you... except this, of course. Okay, I love you. Bye.

Lily: (Chuckles)

Cane: (Sighs) oh, god, I can't send them this. There's nothing in it. Damn it. What am I gonna do?

Fen: Hi, aunt Jill.

Jill: So listen. Tell me, did Santa like the cookies you left out for him?

Fen: A new bike.

Jill: Wow! Excellent!

Fen: (Chuckles)

Gloria: Fen, time to get you to school, honey. Go pick out a snack for your break.

Gloria: "Aunt Jill," huh?

Jill: Yeah. Lauren and I have been getting along much better lately, both personally and professionally.

Gloria: Mm.

Jill: So I assume you're taking fen to school so she can make our meeting.

Gloria: And what meeting...

Jill: Oh, we're going over the holiday sales.

Gloria: Ahh. Guess you haven't heard.

Jill: Heard what?

Gloria: Daisy escaped.

Phyllis: Shh. Shh. Shh, shh, shh, shh. It's the first sleep she's had in a really long time, I'm sure.

Abby: (Sighs) well, I tried. I couldn't. At least I got a shower. Did you hear anything new?

Phyllis: No.

Abby: (Sighs)

Jack: The guy at the gas station hasn't seen daisy or Daniel, and he's been here all night.

Michael: And nobody recognized them at the diner across the street.

Jack: I saw you on the pay phone earlier.

Michael: Yeah, well, since my cell phone is not functioning here, I put in a call to my contact at the police station. They put out an A.P.B. On daisy and Jana's car. Nothing yet, and I'm still trying to call Daniel.

Jack: Well, look, if he's not getting service, he could still be in the same area.

[ Be ]

Leslie: The law enforcement you dealt with in Hawaii has been in touch with the D.A.

Sharon: And told him there was nothing to back up my story.

Leslie: Now he's seriously considering obstruction charges.

Adam: Sharon didn't interfere with the investigation. She is the investigation.

Leslie: (Sighs)

Sharon: Uh, tell the D.A. I'll-- I'll take a lie detector test. Whatever he wants.

Leslie: I'm meeting with him now.

Adam: Your first priority is to make sure Sharon stays out of trouble.

Leslie: Okay. (Sighs)

Sharon: See you later.

Adam: You are not responsible for this. But we both know who is.

Nick: You going to answer my question?

Victor: (Sighs) with the offices closed, I thought it was a good time to get away, considering all the problems I've had with your mother and your sisters. I'd imagine you understand.

Nick: So where'd you go?

Victor: The house in telluride. I did some skiing.

Nick: What if you skied into a tree or something?

Victor: (Chuckles) your compassion is touching, son.

Nick: Dad, you gotta tell somebody when you go out of town like that.

Victor: I didn't think anyone would give a damn where I'd gone to, all right? Would you have had it not been for the takahashi deal? (Intercom buzzes)

Victor: Excuse me. Yeah? Mm... yes. Let me deal with that right now. I need to take this call, okay?

Nick: Of course.

Victor: Yeah? Well, they're meeting in Brussels right now to discuss...

Gloria: (Sighs)

Lauren: Hi.

Jill: Hi.

Lauren: Hi. Did fen get off to school okay?

Gloria: Yes, and auntie Jill conducted a thorough investigation of the school security system.

Lauren: (Chuckles)

Phyllis: Was it satisfactory?

Jill: It was very impressive.

Lauren: Mm-hmm. Well, things are certainly bad when these two are pairing up.

Gloria: Uh-huh. (Chuckles) heard from Michael?

Lauren: Actually, not for a while. Um, we think they're out of cell range.

Jill: "They"?

Phyllis: Yeah, Michael and jack went off to look for daisy. Daniel's with them, too.

Abby: Yeah. I definitely never thought I'd be the girl waiting for the phone to ring. (Cell phone rings)

Phyllis: It's nick. Hey, nick, what's up?

Nick: Um, so I was just calling to check in with you. Am I picking up summer this afternoon, or are you?

Phyllis: (Sighs) I'm sorry. Can you please do that? Um, daisy has escaped.

Nick: She escaped? How did that happen? Didn't she have, like, guards and an ankle alarm?

Phyllis: I know. She went into labor, and, uh, they turned off the ankle bracelet so Jana, who was with her, could take her to the hospital. Then she knocked Jana out and stole her car.

Nick: Was Jana seriously hurt?

Phyllis: Yeah, uh, she has a concussion, but that's all. She'll be fine. Nick... (sighs) I'm worried about Daniel. He--he went to look for daisy, and he's missing. (Footsteps approach)

Michael: Jack, is that Daniel's car?

Jack: Yeah, that's definitely his car.

Michael: Jack, look!

Jack: Oh, no. Daniel? Oh, the back of his head is bleeding. Daniel? Daniel! He's freezing.

Michael: He's got a pulse.

Jack: Come on, Daniel. Hang in there, buddy. Come on. Hang in there. We're gonna get you to a hospital. Daniel? Get your phone.

Cane: There's no way I'm gonna get this done. (Cell phone rings)

Cane: (Sighs heavily) hey, uh, Sofia. I hear, uh, you've had a busy morning.

Sofia: Yeah, have you talked to Blake?

Cane: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I talked to him a little while ago. Um, he's, uh, cranking. He's trying to get this, uh, analysis done for, uh, the presentation that tucker has for the board.

Sofia: I wasn't sure he even got my message. I was about to go over there in person.

Cane: Uh, no, no. You don't have to do that. Uh, you know, he's, uh, he's pretty reliable. He's--he'll get it done.

Sofia: Well, it would be nice if he would let me know.

Neil: Still no answer.

Sofia: Cane, why is he answering your calls and not ours?

Cane: Um, I-I think he said he had some cell phone problems or something. Uh, he mentioned that. But don't worry about it. He'll be--he's good.

Sofia: Okay, well, I'm gonna need you to do me a favor. Go over there. Make sure he's still on track. And I want him to understand that this is do or die.

Colin: Thank you.

Blake: Well, hi there.

Lily: Hi. (Chuckles) how are you?

Blake: Good. Oh, uh, Colin, you remember lily?

Colin: Of course, uh, Jill's daughter-in-law.

Lily: Yeah. Nice to see you again.

Colin: We got to talking after Jill introduced us and realized that we know a lot of the same people back in Australia.

Lily: Oh, well, that's a small world. (Chuckles) how long you in Genoa city for?

Colin: As long as it takes me to get my work finished.

Lily: Well, it's too bad you had to be away from home over the holidays.

Colin: You know, it hasn't been too bad. I spent new year's eve with Jill, and it was very nice. (Clears throat)

Lily: Oh, I-I didn't know that you--

Colin: In fact, we're very fond of each other.

Lily: Oh, okay. (Chuckles) well, I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of you.

Colin: I certainly hope so.

Gloria: You owe me $10.

Jill: I will pay you. Gloria, for god sake, I will pay you. Listen, I don't want to take no for an answer. I want you to eat something.

Lauren: Oh, come on.

Gloria: Yes, and I brought you some fruit.

Lauren: Really? I-I--

Gloria: Yes.

Nick: Hey.

Phyllis: What are you doing here?

Nick: Well, I figured I could keep calling you every ten minutes, or actually come down here and find out what's going on. Also, I figured you'd be out of your mind.

Lauren: Michael and-- and jack are searching. We decided to stay here.

Nick: Well, it's best if you stay in a public place. Do you need help with anything? Can I watch fen?

Lauren: You're so sweet. I-I think Gloria and Jill have that covered.

Gloria: Mm. (Cell phone rings)

Lauren: One second. I-it's Michael. Hello? Well, honey, I-- I can barely hear you. Wh-what about Daniel? What? (Scoffs) we got disconnected. He--I-I-I think he said something about Daniel a-and them bringing him here.

Phyllis: W-well, what-- how did he say Daniel was?

Lauren: We didn't get that far.

Jill: And what about daisy? Did Michael say anything about her?

Lauren: No.

Gloria: The police will find her.

Lauren: Let's hope.

Phyllis: The baby, too, I hope.

Baby: (Cries)

Daisy: Shh.

Baby: (Crying)

Daisy: Shh, shh.

Baby: (Cries)

Phyllis: (Gasps)

Michael: Doctor, this is Daniel Romalotti. He's got a head injury, uh, hypothermia.

Jack: He was unconscious when we found him.

Phyllis: D-Daniel. Daniel.

Abby: No.

Doctor: I need a full set of vitals and stat core temperature. Apply circulating heat blankets, torso only. Start, uh, I.V.-- Need it right now. D5 normal saline solution heated to 110 degrees, 250 cc's per hour. O2 by nasal cannula, 6 liters per minute. Alert radiology he'll be coming down soon for a C.T. Scan.

Lauren: What happened to him?

Michael: I have no idea.

Victor: You're back. Nicholas said you had gone out of town.

Sharon: I'm here to ask for your help-- not for Adam's sake, for mine. I have no way of proving that any of this happened. And the police in Hawaii, they think that I'm lying about seeing Skye so that I could help Adam. But you know I'm telling the truth, don't you?

Victor: Mm-hmm. Sharon, why would it matter what I think?

Sharon: Because as angry as you are with Adam...

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: I don't believe that you will sit back and let your son go to prison for a crime he didn't commit, not your own child.

Victor: Did he send you here to plead his case?

Sharon: He thinks you're the one who framed him.

Victor: I heard he said that. Mm-hmm.

Sharon: Victor, protecting and defending your family is what you're all about. I've benefitted from that. Times when I thought maybe I crossed the line, or you might wash your hands of me forever, you showed me great compassion.

Victor: (Sighs) is that what you want for Adam? What's the matter with you? Have you forgotten who this man is? Have you forgotten what happened the last time I showed him compassion? Have you forgotten what he has done to Ashley? To you? To Nicholas? When he switched babies in the hospital, making you think it was Ashley's baby? But in fact, it was yours? If it were up to Adam, you would still be mourning for the life of that child.

Sharon: I can't forget that.

Victor: You already have forgotten it. You're dealing with a very dangerous man. He's a psychopath.

Sharon: Victor, you've given up hope. And Adam is not a lost cause.

Victor: (Sighs) Sharon, I'm very fond of you. You know that. But I've got to tell you, Adam, my own flesh and blood, is a lost cause. Do you know how much it pains me to say that? He is where he belongs-- in prison. Do not let him take you down with him. I'm warning you.

Cane: (Sighs)

Colin: And in cairns, you can actually go white-water rafting through a rain forest.

Lily: (Laughs) wow, that sounds amazing. But I think our vacations for the next few years are gonna have to stay pretty stroller-friendly. (Laughs) so...

Blake: Yeah, I got you.

Lily: Yeah. (Cell phone rings)

Colin: Don't rule out a trip to Australia. I happen to know this really good travel guide... and I'm cheap.

Lily: (Laughs) well, that's so nice of you. Thank you.

Blake: Excuse me, I...

Lily: Okay. (Ring)

Blake: What's up?

Cane: F.Y.I., You've been spending your morning busting your butt getting a report ready for Neil and Sofia, okay?

Blake: Really? I'm very impressed with myself.

Cane: Well, I'm glad somebody is. Listen, they want an instant analysis of tax assessments, all right? That is not really exactly my field of expertise.

Blake: (Sighs) well, there's gotta be something online, right? Plagiarize.

Cane: Well, I did the best I could. Let's just hope it works.

Blake: Well, I hope so, mate. Otherwise, you're gonna have quite a problem on your hands.

Michael: We started on the back roads leading out of town from the old zoo.

Nick: Well, it makes sense. Daisy is familiar with the area.

Jill: And Daniel had the same idea.

Lauren: Did he ever regain consciousness or say anything at all?

Michael: No.

Phyllis: (Sighs) no. So we know what happened. I mean, he found daisy, obviously. And she did the same thing to Daniel that she did to Jana. Doctor, hi. I'm--I'm Daniel's mother. How is he?

Doctor: Hi. He's, uh, suffering from severe hypothermia. His core body temperature has gotten down to 88 degrees. We're gonna bring it back up, but it's a slow process. Too much heat too quickly can cause shock or cardiac complications.

Phyllis: Okay. And his head injury?

Doctor: Still waiting for the results of the cat scan.

Abby: But he's gonna be okay, right?

Doctor: Well, it's too soon to tell. His condition is critical. We're doing all we can.

Nick: You know they know what they're doin' here, right? When they pulled Noah out of that lake, they saved his life. They're gonna do the same with Daniel.

Phyllis: I know. I know that it's gonna be fine with Dan--I know he'll be okay. I just think this is ironic that I was trying to help that baby, and I'm ultimately risking the life of my own. (Sighs)

Gloria: Michael.

Lauren: What did the police say?

Michael: Uh, they found a tire tread in the snow where we found Daniel, and it matches Jana's car.

Gloria: So it was daisy.

Jack: Well, that's the working theory right now. It seems that Daniel found her, maybe got out of his car, maybe offered his coat. He wasn't wearing one when we found him. They never found it on the scene.

Jill: So daisy probably made him think that she was gonna come back with him.

Michael: And at some point, he, uh, turned his back, and she knocked him out cold.

Lauren: That's exactly what she would do.

Phyllis: (Sighs)

Nick: How long do they think he was out there?

Jack: The doctor said judging from his body temperature, he was there quite a while.

Abby: What, she just left him there to die?

Phyllis: She didn't do anything. She didn't call 9-1-1. She didn't put his jacket over him. She didn't put him in the car and put the heat on. She did nothing. She just let someone die. She did nothing!

Abby: I'm, um, I am--I'm gonna go call Kevin.

Nick: You okay?

Abby: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he's just, um, he's been texting, and he--he wants an update.

Gloria: Honey, thank you. He'll appreciate it.

Lauren: (Sighs)

Lauren: Kevin's gonna be so upset that his niece disappeared.

Jill: Honey, the police are gonna find them.

Lauren: Daisy has been gone for hours. She could be anywhere. (Sighs) w-were there any clues in the crime scene that could indicate where she was headed?

Michael: No. But they're gonna tow Daniel's car back.

Lauren: Which will tell us precisely nothing because she was never in the car.

Nick: There is a statewide manhunt going on. They're gonna find daisy. She's going back to jail.

Phyllis: It's not gonna get that far. I'm gonna find her first, and I'm gonna rip her apart if she takes my son away from me.

Jack: Nobody's taking your son away. Listen to me. Gloria's right. Someone was looking out for Daniel, starting with the weather. It was much warmer than it usually is. That could have been the difference between life and death.

Phyllis: You don't know that. You don't know if he's gonna survive. You don't know that, jack. (Sighs)

Jack: Hey. Hey.

Neil: Ready? Got 'em right here. Here, this one's for you.

Sofia: (Sighs) good. Finally.

Neil: I do not like cutting it this close.

Sofia: Me, either. So where are the projections for this year?

Neil: Um, should be right where I think it I-- yes, second-to-last page.

Sofia: Okay. I'm anxious to see what he did. Let's see. Wait. Do you have an analysis?

Neil: Um, I-I got a bit of it here at the-- at the bottom.

Sofia: Well, that's just a brief overview. Where's the study we commissioned?

Neil: Sofia, did you not download all the pages?

Sofia: Neil, of course I downloaded all the pages. You are... (chuckles) look, everything he sent is supposed to be right here.

Neil: No, no, no. This isn't right. No. This is--this is un-- unbelievable here.

Sofia: And there's not enough time for us to get someone else to do it. A-and there's no time for him to redo it, and we cannot turn this in to tucker like this.

Neil: Why not? He should see this. He'll see exactly where his money's going, what he's paying for.

Sofia: (Sighs) we're gonna have to get cane involved.

Neil: Cane's gonna be furious about this. Recommending this guy, putting his reputation on the line.

Sofia: (Scoffs) a mess. Cane? Yeah, Sofia. We need to see you right away.

Cane: (Sighs) is, uh, is there a problem?

Sofia: Well, we're just gonna have to talk about that when you get here.

Cane: (Sighs)

Colin: So you have pictures of the children?

Blake: (Clears throat)

Lily: Oh. (Laughs) do I have pictures? Okay, that--that's funny.

Blake: Okay, pictures? Uh, her phone is like the national archives depicting Mattie and Charlie's every waking moment.

Lily: What? Okay, you know what? Listen. I'm gonna go get a refill first and give you a chance to escape. How about that? (Chuckles)

Colin: Oh, I'm not going anywhere.

Blake: (Sighs)

Colin: Cane did well for himself. She is delightful.

Blake: Yes, she is.

Colin: I gotta get into that house. I want to see my grandchildren.

Blake: Yeah. Yeah, I didn't think seeing them across a parking lot was gonna satisfy you.

Colin: They're my legacy.

Cane: (Sighs)

Sofia: Did you talk to Blake?

Cane: Yeah, he, uh, he said he sent the information in. Is this it?

Neil: Sent the information in? What there was of the information.

Sofia: There is very little analysis, virtually no specifics.

Neil: I'm afraid this was a flimsy job at best.

Sofia: Completely unacceptable.

Cane: Okay, uh, I'm sure he gave it his all. He always does. You know, this-- this was a rush assignment. I mean, it's the middle of the night in Australia. There's no one he could call to, you know--

Neil: Cane. Cane. I don't want to hear about it. With all the projects that he's worked on, or claims to have worked on, this should have been a snap.

Sofia: We are paying him top dollar for his expertise. Tucker is not gonna be happy with this.

Neil: Cane, he's gonna hit the roof, and the fallout is gonna land on all of us.

Cane: (Sighs)

Leslie: (Sighs)

Adam: Convince the D.A. To back off of Sharon?

Leslie: For now. But the situation hasn't gotten any better for you.

Adam: You and Vance can make the D.A. See reason. It's tough to prosecute someone for murder when you don't even have a body.

Leslie: Half the job's been done for him in the press.

Adam: You talkin' about that article that Phyllis did for "restless style"?

Leslie: Yeah. It solidified your public image as a man without a conscience, a danger to society.

Adam: The D.A.'S just trying to appease the screaming hordes. All his evidence is circumstantial. You know it, I know it, and they know it.

Leslie: Yeah, well, when a jury's predisposed to convict, they don't need a lot of convincing, and he knows that.

Adam: (Sighs) so you're telling me that, uh, the D.A.'S not gonna be dropping these charges any time soon?

Leslie: He's already moving to get the trial on the court calendar, and he's planning to go for the maximum. Adam, if you have an ace in the hole, now would be a very good time to pull it out.

Sharon: I can't walk away from Adam.

Victor: (Sighs) (sighs) you're sacrificing yourself and your family to what end? You will not be able to save that man.

Sharon: Maybe not. I couldn't save Skye. I don't know if you've ever been in the same position where someone's life was literally in your hands. But the look on her face, the terror, and her voice screaming, it--it still wakes me up at night. Now I'm sure whoever set Adam up didn't intend for that to happen. They didn't want Skye to die, or for me to have to deal with this guilt. We were just collateral damage. But that won't be all there is.

Sharon: There'll be more, and Adam won't be the only one who's suffering, unless you help me set things right. And I think you're the only one who can, victor.

Sharon: Were you the one who sent Skye out of town?

Neil: And, of course, we still can't get Blake to answer the damn phone.

Cane: Um, all right, listen, I'll find out what happened here. Uh, you know, maybe you got a rough draft by mistake. Um, okay, listen, if he gets you the information you need before tucker has his presentation, can we maybe--

Sofia: No, look, it is too late for that, cane.

Neil: (Exhales)

Sofia: We gave Blake every opportunity to prove himself, and he just blew it.

Neil: And when you find him, tell him he's fired.

Cane: (Sighs)

Colin: So... let's see these miracle babies.

Lily: Uh, actually, it'll have to wait. My babysitter just called and said that she has to leave. So I'm sorry.

Blake: Isn't, uh, isn't cane working from home?

Lily: Um, well, he was, but he got called into the office, so, um, I guess you'll have to see the photo gallery next time, I guess.

Colin: Look, as it turns out, I've got a bit of time between meetings now. If it's not an imposition, I'd like to drop by in person, see the twins.

Blake: Well, maybe I could join him. I bet you could use an extra set of hands. Otherwise, those little ones will have you outnumbered.

Lily: Well, you know, Martha said that they're kind of fussy today, and they'll probably make a bad first impression. So another time?

Colin: It's been nice visiting with you.

Lily: You, too. Bye, you guys.

Blake: Bye, lily. See you soon.

Lily: Bye. See you.

Colin: Are you this obvious every time you're around?

Blake: (Sighs) what are you talking about?

Colin: Your instructions are to keep an eye on her, nothing else.

Blake: (Sighs) (clears throat) anyway, look, that was cane that called. He seems to have stepped in it again.

Colin: Uh, tell me later.

Jill: All right, just cancel all of Lauren's appointments for today. No, no, no. Give me his number. I'll call in person, okay? Uh, wait a second. I just gotta get something to write with. Hang on.

Jill: (Chuckles) just text me the number, okay?

Adam: (Sighs)

Victor: Well, I hate to see what you're going through.

Sharon: Well, then help me. Help me prove he's innocent.

Victor: I cannot do that. He created the situation he's in, not I.

Sharon: Victor, please?

Victor: Sharon, will you please come to your senses? You're dealing with a psychopath. I'm warning you, this is a dangerous man. He's in prison where he belongs. Please don't forget that. As far as Skye being in Hawaii is concerned, I have no idea how she got there. Probably Adam sent her there. (Knock on door)

Victor: Come in.

Nick: I heard you were back. I also heard your story about what happened in Hawaii.

Sharon: That's no story.

Nick: You know, Sharon, you leave your daughter to go cruising around Hawaii, then come back with this ridiculous alibi. I'm done waiting for you to come to your senses, and you know what? Faith is done waiting for you to be a real mother to her. I know Michael's got his hands full right now, but the second he is free, I'll be filing for full custody. (Monitors beeping)

Jack: Where did she cross?

Michael: The C.I.C. Has no record. She must have snuck across somehow.

Lauren: Well, at least we know that she's far away and she's not lurking around here waiting to hurt someone else.

Phyllis: And we know she's still pregnant.

Abby: She lied about being in labor?

Michael: At least it will make her easier to spot. The Mounties are looking for someone who's very pregnant.
