Episode # 9522 ~ Timing Is Everything
Provided By Eric
Proofread By Emma
Kay: You did the bravest, most loving thing a mother can do. Now you were saying good-bye to your son. You...
Victoria: (Sighs)
Kay: Never once let him feel your pain, and you didn't make it his burden.
Victoria: There are so many things I'm gonna miss about my little boy.
Kay: I'm sure there is.
Nina: Here you go.
Kay: (Sighs)
Victoria: Thank you.
Kay: Thank you, Nina.
Nina: Putting distance between a mother and son is just cruel. Excuse me.
Victoria: I know you want me to stay. I really want to go home, though.
Kay: No, no, no, no, no. I understand, but there's something you... you really need to know regarding your mother.
Victoria: I just saw my mother a little while ago.
Kay: Uh, she's fine. No, Darling, she's fine. But... (Sighs) Last night, your father married Meggie. That was to--
Victoria: He did what? (Scoffs)
Kay: Uh, no--
Victoria: Oh, my God... my mom!
Nikki: Meggie has changed her status from "Single" to “Married."
Deacon: Your assistant?
Nikki: (Gasps) Oh, my God!
Nikki: There's a wedding picture of her and Victor.
Deacon: You want me to stop?
Victor: (Growls)
Meggie: Aah! (Gasps)
Victor: What's the rush? What's the rush? Hmm? I'm not dead yet. Not even close, Baby. You know the drugs you put in my drink? Hmm? They're fake. I found the real ones and switched them. How's that? I'm all right. You, on the other hand, are in a whole lot of trouble.
Meggie: (Gasps)
Meggie: (Gasps)
Jack: Diane? I want to see Kyle.
Diane: No, you don't, Jack. If you really cared about being with your son, you wouldn't have let your ex-wife bash me in print. Tucker rescinded his job offer. I may have to go to New York for work.
Jack: That has nothing to do with my relationship with Kyle.
Diane: You had your chance, and you blew it. This is all on you.
Phyllis: Is Summer ready for some mommy time?
Nick: She is rarin' to go.
Phyllis: Good.
Nick: How is Daniel dealing with the Daisy issue?
Phyllis: He's okay. You know, she better not get close to him again.
Nick: Well, if anyone can take her, it is you.
Phyllis: Take her, or take her out? 'Cause if I have to, I will do that. (Chuckles) What?
Nick: It's our final divorce decree.
Diane: Do you think it was easy to convince a kid Kyle’s age to leave his friends? To leave his school? But he was willing to give it all up just to be near you. And then you let your ex run wild, and my son is the one who suffers.
Jack: Don't jerk Kyle around just to punish me. New York is off the table.
Diane: You know something? I think Kyle and I will be better off far away from here, far away from you.
Phyllis: Wow. Yeah, it's, um, it's weird to see it in writing.
Nick: Yeah, we knew it was coming.
Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah.
Nick: You okay?
Phyllis: Yeah. I'm fine. Um, what'd you think? I was gonna throw something at you?
Nick: Well...
Phyllis: (Laughs) I may have the urge later.
Phyllis: Are you okay?
Nick: Well, I can't help but think about Summer, you know, the...
Phyllis: Right.
Nick: Daddy days, mommy days, bouncing between two houses.
Summer: Mommy!
Phyllis: Hey, Baby girl. Look at you, beautiful. Are you ready to go?
Summer: If we have two houses, does that mean we get two Christmases?
Phyllis: (Gasps) Well, yeah. (Chuckles)
Summer: (Giggles)
Phyllis: She's really torn up.
Nick: She's a mess.
Phyllis: (Laughs)
Summer: (Giggles)
Victoria: My dad married Meggie?
Kay: Okay, Darling, now--
Victoria: What is he thinking? What is he trying to do to my poor mother?
Kay: (Stammers) Lis-listen to me, Sweetheart.
Victoria: (Scoffs)
Kay: What you have to know is that Meggie is very, very dangerous. Now she targeted your father. She planned to marry him, then to kill him, and live the life of a very, very rich widow.
Victoria: Oh, my God. Well, is he safe? Wh--
Nina: Oh, I'm sure he's fine, thanks to Ronan and Murphy.
Ronan: What's the matter, Meggie? Oh, you didn't expect Murph or Victor to make it this far, did you? Yeah, well, it's been tough luck for you, because Murphy here was able to rat you out.
Meggie: I barely even know this man.
Ronan: What's that, Murph? L, I, a-- (Chuckles) Oh, Murphy just called you a liar.
Meggie: So he's tapping his finger. It doesn't mean anything.
Ronan: No, you see, but it does mean something if you're familiar with Morse code.
Heather: I've been in touch with the D.A.'s office in the district where Murphy’s son, your previous husband, was murdered. But he wasn't the only one, was he, Meggie? Oh, no, you really had it made-- your own business, the money you stole from your victims.
Ronan: But then Victor came walking in, and you just, you know, you just couldn't resist it, could you? You had to have that one last score.
Victor: That's why you hit on me, didn't you, Meggie? You followed me back here. Although I told you that I loved Nikki very much, you still kept on trying, didn't you? Do you honestly think I'd leave her for you?
Meggie: (Sighs) This is insane.
Victor: Oh, yeah?
Meggie: Yeah. (Sniffles) What's wrong with you people? This old man is confused. He--he--you can't-- you can't trust anything that he says.
Victoria: I don't understand. How is Murphy involved in all of this?
Kay: Well, there's been a breakthrough, and, um, he was tapping his fingers for days, and I had absolutely no idea what--what he was trying to do or say.
Nina: But Ronan realized it was Morse code. He--he translated everything.
Kay: Yes. Oh, my God, the information was staggering. Aside from the fact that Meggie was married to Murphy’s son Frances, and she also was responsible for his death.
Victoria: (Sighs) Wha...
Kay: After that, everything snowballed. There was a plan set up for-- for Victor to fall into Meggie’s trap. She instead fell into his.
Meggie: All I ever wanted was to help you through a rough patch that you were having, like you helped me. And Nikki, she's my friend. I would never do anything to h-hurt her.
[Victor remembering]
Victor: What mix-up?
Nikki: Meggie brought me a drink. She didn't know I was sober. God, it's something I haven't had to deal with in so long.
Victor: What are you talking about, Baby?
Nikki: I have the urge to drink.
Meggie: Well, someone's drinking your booze.
Victor: She said she saw you drink spiked tea.
Meggie: It's a ridiculous accusation. Nikki was not drinking spiked tea.
Nikki: You know, just ask Meggie. She was there. She brought me my tea.
Victoria: So she was after Dad all along.
Kay: (Sighs)
Victoria: She got her chance because Mom ended up in rehab.
Kay: Darling, your mother knew absolutely nothing about this, and had no idea who Meggie really is.
Victoria: (Sighs)
Kay: Or the ends that your father would go to to protect Nikki.
Victor: You fed my ex-wife with booze. That's why Nikki's in rehab right now. You get this piece of trash out of here before I come back. Don't you ever show your face here again. I'm gonna see Nikki now.
Meggie: (Sniffles)
Nikki: (Sighs)
Deacon: (Sighs) You know, there's rules against this.
Nikki: Victor can do whatever the hell he wants no matter who he hurts. So can I. Mm.
Sharon: Oh, could I get a coffee to go, please?
Summer: Faith!
Sharon: Hey.
Phyllis: Oh, my gosh.
Sharon: Yeah, she likes you. Look how much she loves her sister. Look at that.
Phyllis: (Chuckles) Uh, fair warning. She has found, uh, matching outfits for the two of them. (Chuckles)
Sharon: Phyllis, you seem so... I don't know, mellow. Did you use up all your energy on another scandalous "Restless Style" piece?
Phyllis: Um, no. I didn’t. Uh, my divorce is final from Nick.
Sharon: Oh, right. I heard. I heard.
Phyllis: Mm. Yeah, I'm sure you did. I'm sure you were the first to know.
Sharon: Really? Why?
Phyllis: Oh, you think that I'm gonna freak out, don't you? Oh, you think I'm gonna blame you. Yeah, I probably would have in the past, but I really don't feel like doing that now. Mnh-mnh. No, I'm not interested in that. Um, I feel... mellow. You're right. I feel normal.
Sharon: Hmm. Even though, um, when you were with Nick, you were, you know, a little less irrational and less destructive?
Phyllis: Yeah, well, that's because I was being subservient and submissive. But, um, I don't need to do that anymore. I don't need Nick's approval. I'm myself again.
Sharon: You're yourself.
Phyllis: Mm-hmm.
Sharon: Yeah.
Phyllis: Yeah.
Sharon: Yeah, vindictive and--and vicious. It suits you.
Phyllis: (Laughs)
Sharon: Thank you. All right, off we go. Bye-bye, Summer. I'll see you later.
Phyllis: Hey, bye.
Sharon: See you later.
Phyllis: Bye-bye.
Jack: Thank you.
Nick: Newman?
Man: Yep.
Nick: All right, pork chops.
Jack: Lasagna.
Nick: (Sighs) Right on. So, uh, my divorce went through. Phyllis was actually with me when I opened the papers.
Jack: Any fallout?
Nick: (Sighs) It's the way things need to be. Plus, you know, Summer's a champ, so...
Jack: Yeah, she is. Actually, this is going home to Phyllis and Summer as we speak.
Nick: Same for me and, uh, Sharon and Faith, although Faith doesn't get pork chops just yet.
Jack: A little bit of déjà vu, here, huh? Could have played this scene five years ago, even with Diane in town.
Nick: Yeah, how's that going?
Jack: Well, she took Kyle away once. She's threatening to do it again. He wants a dad around. I want to be there for him. But Diane... (Sighs)
Nick: Oh, she's cheating him if she tries to keep you from him.
Jack: Well, thanks. If he turns out half as good as another young man I hung out with years ago... anyway, we should get this home while it's hot.
Nick: Okay. You're gonna fight for Kyle, right?
Jack: With everything in me.
Diane: So I have to fly out tonight if I'm gonna get that meeting first thing in the morning. Between you, me, and the fichus tree, I need this job, like, yesterday. So the babysitter's gonna come back. She'll stay with you tonight, and I'll be back as soon as I can, okay?
Kyle: Cancel her.
Diane: Kyle, you are nowhere near old enough to stay on your own.
Kyle: No, I'm just saying, why can't I stay with Dad?
Diane: I would have to call your father. The sitter's here.
Kyle: Why'd we even come to Genoa City if you're gonna leave me in a hotel with a stranger? If you'd just call my dad, he'd come and get me, and then you can go fly wherever.
Diane: All right, well, it's too late, okay? Conversation over.
Jamie: Hey. (Laughs)
Diane: Hi. Thanks for coming back.
Jamie: Yeah.
Diane: Kyle needs lights-out by 9:30, and make sure he has protein for breakfast, not just pancakes and cereal, which is what he'll ask for.
Jamie: (Laughs)
Diane: You still mad at me? All right, well, as long as you forgive me by the time I get back from New York. Bye.
Jamie: (Clears throat)
Kyle: Mom?
Kyle: Um, can you order me a cheeseburger? I want to drop this off in my room.
Jamie: Up and back.
Kyle: Yeah. Of course.
Jamie: Okay.
Ronan: There it is.
Kay: Oh, you're home! (Laughs)
Nina: So what happened? Is everybody okay?
Kay: Oh, I love you, Sweetheart. Mwah!
Ronan: Everybody is just fine. Meggie is on her way to jail because of Murphy here. He's a hero.
Kay: (Chuckles)
Nina: Look at you with Murphy. You guys are a new team.
Ronan: Uh, yeah. Battin' a thousand for now.
Nina: (Chuckles)
(Doorbell rings)
Kay: Oh, um, I'll get it. (Sighs)
Nina: You're really good with him. You're very kind.
Ronan: Oh, I don't know about that. Murphy--Murphy did me the favor, not the other way around.
Kay: Watch this.
Heather: Oh.
Kay: You may want to step over there.
Heather: Thank you.
Kay: It's easier.
Heather: Uh, I just got word. Meggie's in booking, thanks to you.
Kay: (Sighs) Oh, thank God Victor's in one piece. And so is his relationship with Nikki.
Victor: I should have throttled you the last time you went near my wife.
Nikki: I'm not your wife. I'm the woman that you abandoned, remember? I'm the one that you left behind.
Deacon: You know, Victor, for all your money and all your wealth, you're an idiot treating Nikki the way you do.
Victor: You shut up! What are you talking about?
Nikki: I may be a drunk, but I'm not a fool. Meggie is your wife, and you brought her down from Canada, that tramp, into our house, allowed her to live there, probably mocking me all the way.
Victor: I didn't marry Meggie McClaine out of love. You got that?
Nikki: Oh, oh, not a--
(Door opens)
Nikki: Well, then it must have been just the sex then. That's wonderful. That's different.
Woman: Hey, hey, Mr. Newman. You are not supposed to be here. And, you, out of this room.
Victor: Please get him out of here right now before I break his neck.
Nikki: Well, I'm all ears. Tell me all about your wedding and your new wife.
Nick: All right, come on in. Get it while it's hot.
Sharon: Wow.
Nick: Give me this beautiful little girl.
Sharon: Can't turn down that offer.
Nick: Oh, how's my girl? (Grunts)
Sharon: Hi, daddy. Ooh, yummy. Peas and mashed potatoes-- that's Faith's favorite.
Nick: Yep, and pork chops, because...
Sharon: Oh. Oh, that's not even funny.
Nick: Yeah, we're watching "Babe" again.
Sharon: Oh, okay, wait. No--no bacon and no pork jokes. I'm serious.
Nick: We'll see.
Sharon: (Chuckles)
Nick: I make no promises. So, um... I got some papers today. My divorce is final. (Movie starts playing)
Sharon: Yeah. Yeah, I heard.
Jack: Lasagna.
Phyllis: Lasagna. What do we have to do next before we eat lasagna? We have to... wash our hands!
Summer: (Giggles)
Phyllis: Go wash your hands. (Chuckles)
Jack: So I, uh, I saw Nick at the club. He told me about the divorce papers. How you holdin' up?
Phyllis: You know, you, me, everybody else is expecting this big wave of emotion to come over me. I'm fine. I feel free.
Jack: Good for you.
Phyllis: (Chuckles) Mm. You know... (Sighs) I don't want-- I don't want Summer to walk in to that just yet.
Jack: Okay.
(Knock on door)
Jack: Oops, excuse me.
Phyllis: You gave at the office. We have lasagna here.
Jack: Kyle? Come on in.
Kyle: Hey.
Jack: Is your mom with you?
Kyle: (Sighs) It's kind of hard when she's on her way to New York.
Jack: Wait, she left you alone?
Kyle: I had to ditch the babysitter because of what she wrote about my mom.
Phyllis: Did you read that?
Kyle: Me and everyone on the internet.
Phyllis: Kyle, you-- you shouldn't be going on the internet. You--
Kyle: Look, I came to see you, not her. Just tell me if it's true. Did my mom do all that stuff?
Woman: Pack your things. You're both out of here.
Deacon: Look, boot me, all right? Please. I broke the rules. (Sighs) Look, I'm as bad sober as I am drunk, but don't kick Nikki out. Please. She's trying to get sober. Don't take that away from her.
Victoria: Wait a second. What--what are you-- what are you even doing here? What did you do to my mother? What are you talking about?
Deacon: Your dad's in there with your mom, and she needs you, Victoria. Just tell her I said I'm sorry, please. Just--just tell her I said good-bye.
Victor: You honestly think I'd bring another woman into our home? Hmm?
Nikki: Well, you came to me in all your grandeur and gave me this gigantic ring. And then your wife posted a wedding photo of the two of you on Faceplace.
Victor: Now you listen carefully. I didn't marry her. It was a setup. It was a scam. She's a con artist. She marries wealthy guys. Then she kills them and runs off with their money. I was to be the next victim. As far as you falling off the wagon, she spiked your tea all along. She wanted you to fall off the wagon, get you the hell out of her way.
Nikki: Oh, my God. So that feeling I had like I... had already had alcohol before I even took a first drink... you didn't really marry Meggie or...
Victor: I didn't abandon you, either.
Nikki: (Sighs) Oh, Victor, why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you let me know what you had planned?
Victor: Because I had to act quickly.
Nikki: (Sighs)
Victor: Stay away from me.
Nikki: Did she hurt you?
Victor: No, she didn’t. What--what the hell are you pretending now? I'm fine.
Nikki: No, you're not. You're not fine, because I've hurt you. Victor, I am so sorry. I-I should have known that you would--wouldn't do that. (Sighs) Oh, everything in my head has been upside down ever since all of this... alcohol thing, I...
Victor: Yeah.
Nikki: (Sighs) I'm so sorry. I w-- (sighs) That whole thing was her. It wasn't me. It wasn't me. (Sighs) It--it makes sense to me now. Victor, you have to know my only constant through this whole thing has been loving you.
Victor: You disgust me.
Nikki: No. Please.
Victor: When you fell in bed with that slime ball...
Nikki: No.
Victor: Did you love me then, too?
Nikki: (Sighs) It's the alcohol.
Victor: Don't you ever come near me again! We are finished!
Nikki: What? Don't say that.
Victor: We are finished!
Nikki: Don't say that! We were so close to finally getting it right.
Victor: We never were close. We are finished!
Nikki: How can you say that?
Victor: I will never forgive you!
Nikki: How can you be so cold? I love you!
Victor: I don't give a damn! I don't give a damn!
Nikki: You're my soul, Victor. What will I do without you? (Sobs) Please.
Victor: Never will I lay hands on you again.
Nikki: (Sobs) Victor!
Nikki: (Sobs) (Sighs)
Jack: Hey, have a seat. Come on.
Phyllis: Okay, listen, Kyle. At, um, at "Restless Style," we actually don't expect kids to be reading our magazine.
Jack: Could we just have a couple of minutes?
Phyllis: Okay. We have lasagna if you're hungry. Did you have dinner? All right. (Sighs)
Kyle: Just tell me if my mom really did all that stuff.
Jack: Have you ever heard the saying, "Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear"?
Kyle: So it's all lies?
Jack: There's lots of different ways to tell a story. And one day, you and your mom and I are gonna sit down and talk about what you read, but right now, you need to know one important thing-- your mom loves you very much. And it shows. I mean, you're a great kid. You're fun. You're funny. Oh, and, uh, thank you.
Kyle: For what?
Jack: For knowing you could come here and ask me these things. That makes me feel good. You hungry? Really?
Kyle: Kind of.
Jack: Good. I think you should eat. And it makes no sense at all for you to go back to the club when you have a brand-new room all ready for you upstairs. If you want to see it, it's at the top of the stairs, turn right, last door on the right.
Kyle: Okay.
Jack: Good.
(Cell phone rings)
Diane: Hello?
Jack: Hey, it's me. I thought you should know Kyle is here at the house with me. He ditched the babysitter. I have already called her, but he wanted to talk to me about what he read in "Restless Style."
Diane: I warned you. How upset is he?
Jack: Well, he's a lot better now. He said you're going to New York.
Diane: Did I sound like I was kidding when I told you I would have to move for work? But what did you tell him about the article?
Jack: I told him that the three of us would sit and talk about it, and that you love him very much.
Diane: I really need this job. But if he needs me to come home--
Jack: No, no, Diane. He'll be fine here for the night. And a babysitter? What, you're really trying to stick it to me?
Diane: I'm sorry. I-it was stupid to try to come between the two of you. Tha-thanks for looking after him tonight.
Jack: You know, this could happen again. If he wants to see me...
Diane: I won't get in the way.
Jack: Good, because now that I'm back in his life, I won't let anyone mess this up for either of us.
Jack: (Sighs)
Nikki: Oh, God, I want to drink. I want to drink until I can't drink anymore.
Victoria: Mom. Mom, what happened? What is going on? Why is Dad so mad at you? If he--he should be upset at anyone, it should be Meggie. What--what's the matter?
Nikki: Your father saw us.
Victoria: "Saw us"? Mom, what are you talking about? He saw us? Are you talking about you and...? Dea--
Nikki: (Sniffles)
Victoria: Mom, what is wrong with you?
Nikki: (Sobs)
Victoria: What is your--
Nikki: (Sobs)
Victoria: I can't--after everything that I've--Mom!
Nikki: Honey, I'm so sorry. I haven't forgotten what he did to you, but he's been-- he's been so kind to me. He's--he's been so helpful and supportive, and... (Sniffles) Everything has just gotten out of control now.
Victoria: Well, thank God they're throwing him out of here.
Nikki: What? They kicked him out?
Victoria: Yeah, they kicked him out. He had the nerve to ask me to say good-bye to you.
Nikki: Oh, my God. What am I gonna do? What if-- what if they kick me out, too?
Victoria: Actually, he was out there begging them to let you stay.
Nikki: I need to stay. I need to be here.
Victoria: Okay. Okay.
Nikki: I-I owe him for that.
Victoria: Okay.
Nikki: Oh, but this thing-- betraying your father, I... (Sighs)
Victoria: Mom, it's because Meggie is a killer, and she's a con artist, and she used you to get to dad. She's trying to rip apart our family like she ripped apart Murphy’s family.
Nikki: Murphy? What-- what are you talking about?
Victoria: Mom, Murphy-- Meggie married Murphy’s son, and she killed him. Look, the only reason that Dad is okay right now is because Murphy was somehow able to expose Meggie.
Nikki: But I failed your father.
Victoria: No, no, no.
Nikki: He was right. I-I--
Victoria: No. No.
Nikki: I had no faith in him.
Victoria: No. No. Mom. Mom. Mom, listen to me. It's not your fault, okay?
Nikki: (Sobs)
Victoria: It's not your fault. It's Meggie’s fault. It's Dad's fault.
Nikki: (Sobs)
Victoria: You know that Dad makes it impossible to trust him. Anytime someone hands him their heart, he--he breaks their heart. And I know that firsthand, and you know that firsthand, Mom. It's not your fault. It's okay.
Heather: I-I'm gonna need your help getting Murphy’s formal statement.
Ronan: I think that can wait. Right? The guy just got out of the hospital, helped nail a killer, bolstered your slumping career all in the same night. I think he needs a little bit of rest.
Nina: It's really awful. I mean, he helped save a life tonight, but he doesn't have his own life back, not entirely. I mean, to depend on other people like that and feel trapped inside your own body...
Heather: Mm, and not know if or when you're gonna get better or worse.
Ronan: I, um, I have to make a call.
Heather: Did we say something wrong?
Nina: I have no idea. (Sighs)
Kay: Darling, um, are you thirsty or...
Kay: No. (Sighs) What? Murphy? (Stammers) Darling, what is it? Wha--
Heather: Was it because of what we said about Murphy? I mean, I-I didn't mean any disrespect.
Nina: No, of course you didn’t. I don't know. Maybe it's that he cares about Murphy? I mean, Ronan doesn't let himself care about anything. Just when I think he's letting me in, he shuts down.
Heather: He-- he doesn't give anything away, but there's something going on.
Kay: Heather, Nina? Come in here. Murphy has something to say.
Kay: No--no rush now. Is it a-about the case? Then I'll--I'll shut up.
Murphy: Love... you... old girl.
Kay: Oh, God. Sweet, sweet Murphy. You really are back.
Phyllis: That was impressive with Diane when you told her that, uh, Kyle is your son and no one's gonna mess with that.
Jack: I just want to be there for him whatever comes up.
Phyllis: Hey, you know I didn't write that article to upset Kyle, right?
Jack: Turns out Diane was right. Boy, do I hate that for a number of reasons. (Sighs)
Kyle: Summer says its movie time and we all have to watch like a family.
Phyllis: (Clears throat) No, not like a family, like friends. We're all friends.
Kyle: Yeah, right. Even after what she said about my mom you want to hang out? I'll be in my room.
Jack: Uh, wait, Kyle? Uh...
Phyllis: Hey.
Jack: You know what? I think we, uh, need a rain check.
Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah. Let's, uh, you know what? Let's watch the movie on my bed in our house. What do think of that? Yay! Slumber party.
Jack: I will do a little damage control here. Luckily, I am in the same town as him and I can do that.
Phyllis: Yes.
Jack: If he were in New York...
Phyllis: Yeah. No problem. No problem. I had some issues with Noah one time, and I'm sure he had some issues with Nick. It's gonna work out. No problem. Let's go, baby girl.
Jack: We'll see you tomorrow.
Phyllis: Yep.
Sharon: Faith's down.
Nick: I mean, honestly, that kid is such a lightweight. She didn't even make it through the opening credits.
Sharon: Eat, play, sleep. Eat, play, sleep. (Sighs) Wears a girl out. (Sighs) So... we didn't really get to talk about your divorce being final. I mean, and maybe you don't want to talk about it.
Nick: Sharon, my marriage has been over for a long time. I mean, it was over even before I knew it was over. And honestly, I would just like to enjoy being here with you right now.
Sharon: Live in the present.
Nick: The future matters, too.
Sharon: (Sighs) Things could be so amazing. I mean, in general. You know, everyone's future... like take your mom and dad, for example. You know, she's-- she's working through her problems, and--and problems that they had together. It's just such a... it's a brave and hopeful way to be.
Nick: My dad loves her. He always has, and he wants to be there for her. And deep down, he probably knew that it would always come back to her.
(Door opens)
Woman: I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to ask you to leave. I think its best that you don't accept visitors for the next few days so we can get you back on track.
Victoria: Mom, you know I hate leaving you like this.
Nikki: (Sighs) Well... I'm not innocent in this. How right can Victor and I be together if things always go so horribly wrong? Maybe this thing with Meggie was just a way of letting us know that it's not gonna work, and it never will.
Victoria: I love you.
Nikki: Oh, Honey, I love you. I love you.
Victoria: Okay. See you later.
Victor: I know you need to file a flight plan, but I don't know where the hell I'm going yet. Well, gas up the jet. Get everything ready. By the time you have done that, I'll know where I'm going, okay? Bye.
Diane: Did you miss your flight, too? (Laughs) N o? I guess that would be impossible. You fly private. Meanwhile, the rest of us fly commercial, and sometimes, we miss our flights, which means that we miss job interviews for jobs that we really need, damn it. And now I get to buy another ticket to New York.
Victor: Uh-huh. Want me to take you?
Diane: What? I-I wasn't fishing.
Victor: You want to go to New York?
Diane: Yeah.
Victor: Okay. Well, then I suggest you get on the plane before I take off.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Kyle: Well, when are you gonna explain what you're doing with someone like Phyllis?
