Episode # 9448 ~ Christine's Secret
Provided By Eric
Proofread By Emma
Emily: Did you get a hold of Ashley?
Jack: Yeah. There's nothing we can do. Abby's in jail for the weekend. It looks like they won't be able to arraign her until Monday morning.
Emily: Well, maybe a weekend in jail will do her some good.
Jack: I just wish my niece wasn't so hell-bent on humiliating herself. Is--is that Patty's diary?
Emily: It is. Yeah, I found it in the pool house with some of her things.
Jack: Did you read it?
Emily: Well, I've been skimming through it.
Jack: It's total gibberish.
Emily: It's an insight to what she was going through back then.
Jack: That diary was the clincher... the straw that convinced me that she was impersonating you.
Emily: She should have it back.
Jack: After everything she put you through, I am amazed you even care.
Emily: I know. I know. But it might help her.
Jack: Yeah, I guess a little compassion could go a long way, now that she's confessed to Hightower’s murder.
Adam: Hong Kong just opened. The Soon merchant is up 9.
Skye: Did I tell you?
Adam: How do you do this? I mean, you got it down to the exact number. It's--you're a frickin' genius when it comes to the market. It's unbelievable.
Skye: Oh, you--you know it.
Adam: Listen, I, uh, I gotta meet with Vance for drinks.
Skye: Now?
Adam: Yeah, he just got back from New York, and I gotta see him when I can.
Skye: Uh, make it a fast one. Your lawyer's a pro at racking up billable hours.
Adam: That shouldn't be a problem. Patty confessed to the murder, so I'm sleeping a lot better these days.
[Patty dreaming]
(Cat meows)
Patty: (Gasps) Cat. (Sighs) How did you get in here? I've missed you.
Patty: A tree. Maybe there are apples, huh? Cat? Oh, don't leave me. Come back. Hello? Cat? Hello? Can you hear me? Cat? Cat? Aah! (Grunts) (Breathing heavily) Oh, God. (Sighs)
(Breathing rapidly)
Adam: Murderer.
Patty: (Gasps)
Adam: Murderer.
Patty: (Breathing rapidly)
Patty: Adam? Where are you? Aah! Is that you?
Man: (Growls)
Patty: How did you do that? You can't be two places at once! Aah! Aah! No! No! No! No! No! No! There can't be two of you. No! Aah! Aah! Aah! (Gasps)
Patty's voice: You didn't do it.
Patty: (Gasps)
Nina: Where's Chance?
Chloe: He's with Meeks and the D.A. I can't believe this is happening again.
Nina: Someone planted those drugs on him.
Chloe: I know. Just like the night that they were planted when he was attacked in the Christmas tree lot.
Nina: (Sighs)
Heather: Where is he?
Chloe: They're investigating him right now.
Nina: Can you help him?
Heather: I mean, it's ridiculous. He's innocent.
Nina: You're his partner. What do you know about this?
Ronan: I know that Chance is in a lot of trouble. I'm not sure how much help I can be for you.
Heather: I wouldn't count on Ronan if I were you.
Nina: Why? Do you think he has something to do with this?
Chris: Have you talked to Chance?
Nina: No, he's being questioned. Thanks for coming. Listen, if he needs a lawyer, would you--
Chris: Yeah, I-I-I'm here.
Heather: Christine?
Chris: Yeah.
Heather: Um, I thought so. I-I'm--I'm Heather. I'm Paul's daughter.
Chris: Oh, my God, it's been years. Hi.
Heather: Yeah, I know. Hi. Um, uh, he told me that you were back in town.
Chris: Yeah, and you're working for the D.A.'s office.
Heather: Yeah, that's right.
Chris: Where is Paul?
Nina: Uh, he's checking in with Patty. I left a voice mail, but I guess his phone is turned off or something.
Heather: All right, excuse me. I-I should go check in with them. It's really good to see you.
Chris: You, too.
Chloe: Hi, Christine. I want to introduce myself. I'm Chance's fiancée.
Chris: Esther's daughter Katie, right?
Chloe: Yeah, I go by Chloe now.
Chris: Well, nice to meet you, Chloe. I'm sorry it's under these circumstances.
Chloe: So do you think that you could help him?
Nina: Did you not just hear her say she can help?
Chris: I-I'm sure we'll get everything straightened out.
Chloe: This case has been a nightmare from the start, and I'm just ready for it to be over with. (Sighs)
Chance: Somebody broke into my car, and they planted the drugs on me, Sid.
Sid: There's no sign of a break-in.
Chance: Fingerprints.
Sid: The crime lab's on it.
Chance: (Sighs) Sid, you've got to believe me. Somebody is setting me up here.
Owen: All right. You have any idea who might be framing you?
Chance: Yeah, I do. It's the same guy who's been out to ruin this case since he got on board-- Detective Malloy.
Paul: Hey, Patty. Hey, I know it's late, but, uh, I wanted to stop by and see you. I have a new case. So, uh, I might not be able to drop by every day. How are-- what's wrong? What's wrong, Patty?
Patty: Cat went down the rabbit hole.
Paul: Uh... Kitty Kitty's fine. Uh, Kitty Kitty's with me, remember?
Patty: Mnh-mnh. And I followed-- I followed him-- I followed him into the, uh, hole, and--and I fell in.
Paul: That sounds like a dream, Patty.
Patty: No, then--Pauly--
Paul: Sounds like a bad dream.
Patty: Pauly, then-- then I ended up in the basement with that man, the man that was murdered.
Paul: Well, what-- what basement? You mean--you mean Hightower?
Patty: I didn't do it. Why did I tell them I did it? Why did I tell that man that I was killer?
Paul: Are you talking about the D.A.? Are y-you saying you lied-- that you lied to the D.A.?
Patty: No! No, I didn't lie. I don't lie.
Paul: No, I know you don't lie. No, I-I mean--
Patty: I-I-I-I said I killed him. I-I-I guess I did. I don't-- I just...
Paul: No, but, Patty, you're saying you have doubts, right? You're telling me that you're not so sure.
Patty: Pauly, I don't know. I don't know. I don't-- I don't know what's real anymore.
Paul: Okay. Okay, okay, okay.
Patty: (Sighs)
Paul: Um... uh, y-you need to-- you need to have someone help you sort through this, right? So I want you to sit tight. I'm gonna get Dr. Fowler.
Patty: No. No. No. Please--please don’t. I don't like him. He doesn't care about me.
Paul: P-Patty, Sweetheart, you need to talk to someone.
Patty: Am I a murderer? Did I do it? I don't remember. I just don't remember.
Paul: I know.
Patty: (Sighs)
Paul: I don't know. I don't know.
Patty: You'll help me? Like you always do?
Paul: Of course I'll help you. I will help you. We will sort through this together. Okay? I'll be right back.
Patty: Okay.
Paul: It's gonna be fine. I'll be right back.
Patty: Okay.
Paul: Thank you.
Paul: (Sighs) Emily, its Paul Williams. Uh, well, I'm not sure. I'm with Patty. She is extremely upset, and, uh, she may be remembering, uh, the events of the Hightower murder. She may not have done it. I know. I-I suggested that, but she doesn't want to talk to Dr. Fowler. I know tha-- I-I know she does. Um... listen, you have every reason in the world to say no. But if you could find it in your heart to come down here to the hospital and--and talk to my sister, I--
Emily: Paul, I don't know if that's a good idea. (Whispers) He wants me to come and see Patty.
Jack: Tell him no and hang up.
Emily: (Normal voice) Did she ask for me specifically? Then if you're right, no. I--if she's innocent, then... okay. Tell Dr. Fowler and if he has a problem with it, have him call my cell phone. I'll see you shortly. Bye.
Jack: Em, you're making a mistake. You've been over there once. This is not healthy for you or for Patty for you to get involved again.
Emily: Okay, Jack, this will be my last time, okay?
Jack: Are you sure? I hate to see you get sucked back into this.
Emily: (Sighs) Patty's having second thoughts about her confession, and you said yourself you thought that Adam might have killed Hightower. So what if Patty's just another one of his victims? You really want me to turn my back on her?
Jack: (Sighs) How do I fight that?
Emily: You don’t.
Jack: (Sighs)
Nina: This is the second time someone's tried to plant drugs on Chance.
Chris: Did they find out who did it the first time?
Chloe: No.
Nina: Can they suspend him from the force?
Chris: If there's any truth to these charges--
Nina: Oh, everybody who knows my son knows he's trustworthy and honorable. Tell her.
Chloe: He is. He is trustworthy. He is honorable. And I don't think that those drugs were his, but he has been acting very strange lately.
Nina: Stra-- are you kidding me?
Chris: Well, do you think it has something to do with this?
Nina: No!
Chloe: Before he was arrested, he had a really hard time telling me something, and I don't know what it was.
Nina: Well, I promise you, it had nothing to do with drugs.
Chloe: I don't think that it's drugs, either. But I think that it's a very weird coincidence.
Nina: He has done everything he can to crack this case. S-someone is setting him up, and we're gonna prove it.
Owen: Chance, do you have anything to back up this accusation?
Chance: Why don't you ask him how he interfered with Frank Ellis?
Sid: Malloy wasn't even in town the first time we found drugs on you.
Ronan: Its okay, Sid. I know why this is happening, why Chance is standing here pointing the finger at me. We've never exactly seen eye-to-eye on this case, have we?
Chance: No. That's because you blew it with my informant.
Ronan: Chance is a naive rookie. But does that make me a dirty cop that's trying to ruin your career? No. You're doing a fine job of that all on your own, Chance.
Chance: You have been trying to stop me every move I've made from the get-go. In fact, I'm pretty sure he tipped off the jailhouse about the drug bust.
Ronan: It just as easily could have been you.
Heather: Why would Chance risk a jailhouse sweep if he were involved in a drug ring?
Ronan: To take suspicion off himself and to put it on me.
Chance: I've had death threats against myself. Heather here was almost killed in her own car. You think I planted that bomb?
Ronan: Did you?
Heather: That's crazy.
Ronan: Have you ever thought that maybe the reason Chance slept with you was to make you feel like you could trust him?
Sid: (Sighs)
Emily: (Sighs)
Paul: And if there are any doubts about Patty's confession, it--
Emily: Well, it means that the killer is still out there somewhere.
Paul: You know, to be perfectly honest with you, I-I didn't think that, uh, you would come. But you are the one person she trusts.
Emily: Paul, I don't know if it's gonna do any good to talk to her, but I will try, okay?
Emily: Hello, Patty.
Patty: Dr. P. You're here. Did--did Paul call you?
Emily: Yes, he did. I was gonna come by this week and give you this. I thought you'd like to have it.
Patty: My diary. Maybe if I write what I'm thinking, it will all make sense.
Emily: Uh, what will?
Patty: Who I am. If I'm a murderer like the devil said I was.
Emily: Okay, when you say "Devil," you mean Adam?
Patty: Which one? There were two Adams at the masquerade ball.
Paul: So, Patty, did-- did anyone else see the two Adams?
Patty: I don't know. I heard voices. It--it was dark in there. I was so certain that I m-- I-I murdered him.
Emily: But you're not anymore?
Patty: Shh. Shh. (Whispering) He could be listening.
Emily: (Whispering) Who?
Patty: Adam. If I tell you something, you promise you won't tell Dr. Fowler?
Emily: I promise.
Patty: Adam can walk through walls. He can be invisible. And he comes to me, and he whispers bad things while I'm sleeping.
Emily: Um... (Normal voice) The last time I was here you were certain that you murdered Hightower.
Patty: Yeah, but wh-what if the devil was-- was using Adam to trick me into thinking that I-I'd--I'd done it?
Emily: Do you remember the last conversation we had?
Patty: Yeah.
Emily: What changed? (Stammers) Are your remembering things from that night?
Emily: I don't know. Maybe. (Normal voice) It was just-- there was just blood. There was blood everywhere. There was blood... (Sighs)
Paul: It's okay. It's okay. We'll help you sort through this. Just relax.
Patty: And Dr. P., too?
Emily: Yes, of course, Patty.
Patty: Why... why would you want to help me after all the things that I did to you?
Emily: Because I care about you, Patty. All right? I need to speak with your brother for a minute. Will you excuse us?
Patty: Yes.
Paul: We'll be right back. Okay?
Paul: So what do you think?
Emily: I mean, it's impossible to know. But what's clear is her so-called confession is looking more questionable than we thought. (Sighs) But I better call, uh, the D.A. and alert him. I mean, this could change everything.
Vance: With Patty's confession on record, the D.A.'s got nothing to go on.
Adam: What about the earlier charges-- fraud, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy?
Vance: Your Mr. Pomerantz knows I'll make mincemeat out of him in front of a jury. With a little push, he'll drop the charges.
Adam: Hey, you know, my father, he doesn't, uh, he doesn't quit without a fight.
Vance: Hmm. That "Restless Style" article proved you were victimized. He's got no case.
Adam: Well, the two of you are gonna have to remind me to send Jill a dozen roses.
Vance: With luck, you'll be a free man in a matter of weeks.
Adam: Vance, my dearest friend, how do I thank you?
Vance: Pick up that check. Shake my hand.
Adam: Absolutely.
Vance: It was a pleasure, Darling.
Skye: Thanks.
Adam: Can you imagine the town's reaction when the D.A. drops the charges?
Jack: Don't get ahead of yourself there, Sport. See, I would partner with Victor Newman to see that you take your rightful place behind bars. Half this town would want to help us.
Heather: You sick bastard, eavesdropping on us.
Chance: Ronan, this is between you and me. This has nothing to do with Heather. Leave her out of it.
Owen: No, it's too late. You two broke protocol. You had relations with a woman you were supposed to protect.
Chance: It's my fault, and I accept responsibility for that. But right now, that is not the focus of this inquiry, is it?
Sid: I'm afraid it is. Internal affairs will want to conduct their own investigation. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna need your badge and your gun. You're suspended without pay.
Heather: That's not right.
Owen: You be careful, Miss Stevens. You're on very thin ice.
Sid: It's for your own protection.
Chance: Protection. This is bull.
Nina: Hey, what happened?
Chloe: Chance?
Chance: Later. Later.
Chloe: Chance, wait.
Nina: What happened?
Heather: Chance was suspended without pay. There's gonna be an internal investigation.
Nina: (Scoffs) He didn't anything.
Chris: It's usual protocol.
Nina: They knew he was set up the first time. Why don't they believe him now?
Heather: Ask him.
Ronan: There's evidence against him.
Nina: That my son was guilty? No, I don't think so.
Heather: He threw Chance under the bus. He even went so far as to suggest that everything Chance did was a smoke screen to take suspicion off himself.
Nina: You're his partner. He's supposed to be able to rely on you.
Chris: It will all get straightened out.
Nina: (Sighs) We welcomed you into our home. We--we tried to make you feel comfortable. Now I know that you and Chance don't agree on everything, but he bent over backwards to accommodate you.
Ronan: I'm a cop. It's my job to uphold the law...
Nina: (Scoffs)
Ronan: Aside of my personal feelings for my partner.
Heather: Yeah, don't hide behind your badge, Detective. You haven't exactly been squeaky clean. I wouldn't put it past you to frame an innocent man.
Nina: If that's true, then you are the most despicable man I've ever met. I hope you rot in hell.
Chris: No, Nina, stop. Stop it. I
Nina: After what he did to chance?
Chris: No. We don't know all the facts. I don't want you saying something you'll regret.
Nina: I don't regret one word.
Paul: Nina, I just got your message. Is Chance okay?
Nina: No, they suspended him.
Heather: They found drugs in his car. He's being framed.
Nina: Apparently by his partner.
Ronan: That's not true.
Paul: And who is watching over you?
Heather: Guess.
Paul: I don't want you anywhere near my daughter. Understood?
Chris: All right, just calm down. We still don't know who's framing Chance.
Ronan: Instead of standing around here throwing out accusations, how about we all wait until this case is investigated?
Paul: Okay, that's fine. I just don't want you guarding my daughter.
Ronan: Well, I am, and I'm going to continue to guard your daughter until my superiors tell me otherwise. But I need to assure you that Miss Steven’s safety is my top priority.
Heather: Mm-hmm. Well, sure, you'll say that now in front of all them. What happens when we're alone? Huh? I don't trust a man who turns on his partner.
Ronan: (Chuckles)
Paul: So I'm not letting the two of you out of my sight until I get you thrown off this case.
Nina: I think off the force would be better. You crossed the line going after my son. You're gonna pay for it.
Chloe: (Sighs) I can't believe you got suspended.
Chance: Yeah, well, it's Ronan again. It's always Ronan. He's behind everything!
Chloe: Doesn't Meeks get that?
Chance: (Sighs) I have no proof, Chloe. I have no proof at all. The guy has taken over all of my cases, and what's worse is that he's now in charge of taking care of Heather who I think he's also trying to kill.
Chloe: Okay, honestly, I'm glad that you're not guarding her 24/7. I obviously don't want anything bad to happen to the girl, but if you think that...
Chance: (Scoffs)
Chloe: Ronan is such a bad guy, then why don't you go and get the proof?
Chance: How? Hmm? They took my badge. They took my gun. I'm off the case. I have nothing. I have no interaction with them. I can't get to my files, info, nothing, Chloe. I have nothing.
Chloe: Baby, Baby, you're resourceful. There are other ways to get information.
Chance: (Sighs) Maybe. May--maybe. I-I don't--I don't--I--
Chloe: Listen to me. Listen.
Chance: (Sighs)
Chloe: You didn't do anything wrong. And your life does not completely suck. You have me, right? I'm not goin' anywhere.
Adam: Look at this. Shivering with fear. Don't you ever get tired of making empty threats over and over, Jackie? Now wonder nobody in this town takes you seriously.
Jack: You know, you may actually get away with murder. But for what you did to Ashley and Sharon--
Adam: I've got two words for you, Jack. Vance Abrams.
Jack: Your hot-shot lawyer isn't gonna be able to save you.
Adam: Oh, he thinks he can. Life is good. Now I got a new beautiful bride, new business venture.
Jack: Well, enjoy it while you can. Your time is coming sooner than you think.
Adam: You keep telling yourself that, Jack. (Sighs)
Skye: (Sighs) He's an ass.
Adam: So much for my fellow crimson alum.
Skye: I better get back to the room, see how the market is doing.
Adam: Okay, go ahead. I'll sign the bill. I'll be up there in a second.
Skye: Mm-hmm, okay.
Adam: (Sighs)
Emily: (Sighs)
Owen: So is Patty's confession solid or not?
Emily: I have to say not after meeting with her today.
Owen: (Sighs) Well, did she recant it?
Emily: She said she might not have done it. She is a very confused woman.
Owen: Well, how do we un-confuse her?
Emily: Well, I-I recommend that you meet with her.
Owen: All right, first thing in the morning. If--if Patty didn't kill Hightower, it changes the entire course of my investigation.
Emily: I know that.
Chloe: (Sighs) Paul is gonna get to the bottom of this.
Chance: Thank you. That's great, but what am I supposed to do in the meantime?
Chloe: We could plan our wedding.
Chance: (Chuckles)
Chloe: Or not.
Chance: (Sighs)
Chloe: You're gonna get through this, okay? The truth always wins out.
Chance: Not if the people framing me are the ones leading the investigation, Chloe. (Sighs)
Chance: What if I can't clear my name?
Chloe: You are innocent, aren't you?
Chance: I can't believe you'd ask me that.
Chloe: I-I'm sorry. It's just that, you know, you've been acting really strange lately.
Chance: (Sighs) I know things have been confusing for you lately, haven't they?
Chloe: Well, you were trying to tell me something before. I--does this have anything to do with it?
Chance: No. No, no. No, I-it, uh, it has nothing to do with it. I-I don't do drugs. I don't sell drugs. I don't deal around drugs. I--
Chloe: Okay, well...
Chance: (Sighs)
Chloe: You were having a hard time what it was before, so why don't you just tell me? We will get through this together.
Nina: Chance? (Sighs) We're gonna get you out of this mess, all right?
Ronan: You really need to tell your dad to back off. He's putting himself in danger.
Heather: Mm.
Ronan: If something goes down, if there's some trouble, he's gonna be in the way.
Heather: I-I think it's sketchy that you don't want Paul around. Chance would have welcomed backup.
Ronan: Yet another reason that he never should have been assigned to you in the first place. You never put other people at risk.
Heather: (Sighs) Where is Paul? He was right behind us in the parking lot. Did one of your goons stop him?
Ronan: One of my goo-- you know, you're ridiculous.
Heather: (Chuckles)
Ronan: You know-- don't go without me. Let me walk first.
Heather: Let go of my arm.
Ronan: I'm just saying. We've talked--we've talked about this.
Heather: Let go of me.
Ronan: Let me walk--
Paul: Stay away from my daughter.
Ronan: (Grunts, laughs)
Skye: I thought you were coming right up.
Adam: Houston, we have a major problem.
Skye: What is it?
Adam: Patty Williams is waffling on her confession. If I don't do something to stop her, I am screwed.
Jack: Hi.
Emily: Hi.
Jack: Just pouring myself a drink. You want one?
Emily: Yes, please. (Sighs)
Jack: So?
Emily: So...
Jack: How'd it go?
Emily: It was really hard to see her so broken. Working with her in Minneapolis, she was troubled, but not like this. She can't separate reality from fiction.
Jack: Well, won't that impact her confession?
Emily: (Clears throat) I can't go into details, but yes. Yes, it could.
Jack: What?
Emily: (Sighs) I'm gonna work with Patty again and help her make sense of all this. I know.
Jack: Well, I thought you said this was a onetime thing.
Emily: I know, Jack, but she needs me.
Jack: What's wrong with the doctor she has?
Emily: She trusts me, Jack, and what I've learned f-from being in a psychiatric hospital is that a patient needs someone to make them better, not just give them sedatives.
Jack: I want Patty to get better, too. I just don't want you treating her.
Emily: I know.
Skye: A bond to update the state mental hospital?
Adam: The best bond that never passed, as far as I'm concerned.
Skye: I don't get it.
Adam: See the link?
Skye: To what? Blueprints?
Adam: Of the hospital. That is how I get to Patty.
Skye: I hate to rain on your parade, but if anything happens to Patty, you're gonna be suspect numero uno.
Adam: And that is why we are heading to the Indian gaming casino.
Skye: That makes sense. Gaming casino?
Adam: Skye, my dear, you are my alibi.
Nina: What the hell is wrong with your sergeant? You're the best detective that he has on the force. How can he let this Ronan Malloy joker just waltz in and take your case? It doesn't make sense.
Chloe: It's because he thinks that he's God's gift to Genoa City.
Nina: No, I knew there was something off about that guy the moment I met him. Paul doesn't want him anywhere near Heather. He's gonna try and get him off the case.
Chance: Okay. Okay, Mom. Just stop. Just... (Sighs) I will handle it, all right? I will deal with this. Just--
Nina: You're gonna need some help. Someone's trying to set you up. The truth is gonna come out.
Chance: (Chuckles) How can I ever lose when I've got you both in my corner, you know?
Nina: (Sighs) How did you turn out so levelheaded?
Chloe: (Chuckles)
Chance: (Chuckles) You notice she was giving me a compliment, but actually, she was paying herself one.
Chloe: Yeah, I could actually learn a lot from your mom.
Nina: Thank you, Chloe.
Chloe: (Chuckles)
Chance: Mom...
Chance: I love you.
Nina: Oh, I love you, too.
Chance: But I need some privacy with Chloe, please?
Nina: Of cour--yeah. Yeah, sure.
Chance: Thank you.
Chance: (Sighs) There's something I need to talk to you about.
Chloe: Want to bet that we're gonna get interrupted again? (Chuckles)
Chance: Please sit down.
Paul: Are you okay?
Heather: Yeah, I'm--I'm fine. I'm--I'm glad you came when you did.
Chris: What happened? What--
Paul: He was manhandling her.
Ronan: I was protecting her.
Paul: I want you to stay away from my daughter. I told you that.
Heather: You know what? I'm calling Owen. I have every right to approve who watches over me.
Ronan: I have been assigned to you to protect--
Heather: Ronan, get it through your head. I don't like you. I don't trust you, and I sure as hell don't want to spend another second alone with you.
Chris: No, H-Heather, wait. You're making a big mistake.
Jack: You are not Patty's only option.
Emily: (Sighs) What, you want me to abandon her, Jack?
Jack: You know what I want? I-I... I want you to talk to another professional about this.
Emily: You know how important my work is to me.
Jack: (Sighs)
Emily: I am the woman at Christmas who won't take time off because of her patients, remember?
Jack: Yeah, and I'm the one that talked you into taking time off on the holidays for you. Remember?
Emily: I understand your concern, Jack. I do. But Patty's counting on me.
Jack: It's not that I don't feel compassion for Patty. But I would be fine, after everything she put us through, with her spending the rest of her life behind bars. You're making a mistake.
Emily: Well, if I am, then it's my mistake.
Skye: What's the plan once you're inside the hospital?
Adam: To make sure Patty cannot take back her confession.
Skye: Do I want to know what that means?
Adam: Do you?
Skye: No.
Adam: You all set?
Skye: Download of the blueprints.
Skye: Thank you.
Chance: (Sighs)
Chloe: (Sighs)
Chance: (Sighs) Chloe, I fell in love with you from the moment I first saw you, right here. Actually, I couldn't let go of your hand.
Chloe: Hmm.
Chance: You were funny. You're smart. You're beautiful. You're stunning, feisty.
Chloe: Okay, okay. (Sighs) Just tell me-- are you canceling the wedding?
Chance: No. No. No. No, I'm--I'm not.
Chloe: Okay. (Sighs)
Chance: I'm not canceling the wedding. I just--I-I-I need you to know that I love you more and more every day that I am with you.
Chloe: (Chuckles) Good. You know I feel the same way about you.
Chance: Yeah. Yeah, I know. But... you might not feel that way after you hear what I have to say. (Sighs)
Chloe: Um... did you sneak into a second movie after you saw that first movie the other night?
Chance: No.
Chloe: What did you do?
Chance: No. Chloe, I love you. I always have. But I made a mistake, one that I wish I could take back. One that I regret. Chloe, I cheated on you. I slept with Heather.
Paul: Do you know something about this case?
Chris: More than you realize.
Ronan: I can handle this.
Chris: No, I-- they need to know the truth before this blows up even more. (Sighs) Ronan isn't a dirty cop. He's here to protect Heather.
Heather: By getting Chance kicked off the case? You can't possibly believe--
Chris: He's working undercover. You can trust him, Heather. I give you my word.
Paul: And how do you know this?
Chris: The case came across my desk and the justice department. I'm involved, and trust me when I tell you the people we're after are bigger and more dangerous than you could ever imagine.
Paul: So is that the real reason you came back to Genoa City?
Chris: Yes. To protect your daughter.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Chloe: Well, you wanted Chance, and you sure as hell got him. And now you get to deal with me.
Adam: And you will die here if you don't do exactly as I say.
Heather: So you're saying that Chance is still in danger and we can't tell him?
Ronan: Yes.
