Episode # 9427 ~ Adam & Sharon: Reunited
Provided By Eric
Proofread By Emma
Skye: How do I look?
Adam: (Inhales slowly) Hot.
Skye: So how many crisp, green hundred-dollar bills have you ever made love on?
Adam: Offhand, none.
Skye: That's about to change, my love. As soon as I get back with all my winnings, well, I'll leave the rest to your imagination. I know you're worried about Victor catching up with us, but just a few more hours, and we're home free. I promise you won't regret changing your mind about us staying in town for this one last game.
Adam: (Sighs)
Sharon: Come out, come out, wherever you are. (Sighs) Okay, I just have to do this so I can get back home. (Sighs)
Nick: Mission accomplished. (Sighs)
Phyllis: You got Faith to sleep?
Nick: For now anyways.
Phyllis: Michael's on his way over. We're due back in court. I'm making sandwiches.
Nick: None for me, thanks.
Phyllis: Well, you eat-- you have to eat something.
Nick: I'm okay, really. Thank you.
Phyllis: You seem a little keyed up.
Faith: (Crying)
Nick: (Sighs) I'm not the only one.
Phyllis: She's usually not this fussy.
Nick: Yeah, well, Sharon's gone. This has been very hard for her. I know it's been hard for you, too. We just have to hang in there until Dad gets back with Adam.
(Cell phone rings)
Victor: Yes, Michael, what's going on?
Michael: Uh, I'm afraid we have a problem.
Victor: What kind of a problem?
Michael: Well, you've been subpoenaed. Owen wants you to testify. I need you back here right away.
Victor: You can't be serious. We're just about to flush out Adam.
Michael: Oh, uh, Owen's not going to care about that, and neither will the judge.
Victor: Michael Baldwin, I pay you a lot of money. You straighten this out, all right? I can't leave right now.
Michael: Ignore this, and they will issue a warrant for your arrest.
Victor: Do you think the Brazilian authorities will give a damn? Besides, by the time Pomerantz sends someone down here--
Michael: Victor, listen to me. If you don't show up, Owen is gonna make a big deal of the fact that you've rushed off to a country where it is notoriously easy to disappear.
Victor: What's your point?
Michael: If you are Owen Pomerantz, and you think you have an airtight case, and your defendant just happens to be the son of a billionaire you detest, on principle, what do you think's going through his mind right now?
Victor: Look, my son is not gonna jump bail. That's absurd. You know it.
Michael: (Sighs) Regardless, Victor, if you disobey this summons, you will hurt Nick's case, and frankly, I don't need anything else making your son look bad in the eyes of the jury.
Lily: Hey, what about "Asher"?
Cane: Sorry?
Lily: Asher, for our little boy.
Cane: "Asher Ashby"? Y-you--are you serious?
Lily: Yeah, I love that name. Don't you? (Laughs) I'm just kidding.
Cane: (Laughs) Oh, thank God for that.
Lily: Oh, my God, you should have seen the look on your face. That was hilarious. (Chuckles)
Cane: Yeah, we haven't laughed like that in a while, huh?
Lily: Yeah, it felt good. You know, I know that... (Sighs) Things have been hard, but, you know, I just-- I don't want to spend the time that I have left dying, you know? I-I want to get ready for the babies and-- and dream about their future.
Cane: You know, there's, um... (Sighs) Something I need to talk to you about. Um, do you feel... do you feel strong enough to talk about something?
Lily: Yeah, what is it?
Cane: While you were out of town, a letter came from your lawyer.
Lily: (Sighs) My will.
Cane: Yeah, um, it kinda threw me.
Lily: Yeah, I'm... Cane, I'm sorry you had to find out that way. I-I meant to tell you about it. I really did. But, you know, Aunt Liv and I were going off to France suddenly, and I just didn't have time, you know?
Cane: I know. I know. Yeah, I-it's all right. It's okay. It's just, you know, when I read the document, it was tough, and then I got to the section on, um, on guardianship, you know, and, uh, it just-- yeah, it just kind of... it took me by surprise to see that you wanted, you know, Mac and me to raise the babies together, you know?
Lily: Well, I mean, you know, the babies know her voice.
Cane: Yeah. Yeah.
Lily: They know her. They have a connection to her.
Cane: Yeah, yeah, I know that.
Lily: If I'm not here to, you know, be their mom...
Cane: Yeah, it makes sense. I do understand it, okay? It's just, you know, um... (Exhales) It's like, wh-when we did this surrogacy contract, you know, we talked about this. We didn't agree on it, you know? And, um, you know, it's just gonna add complications to the arrangement, so...
Lily: You mean how my being sick is what's keeping you from being deported.
Cane: Yeah. Yeah, and if that happens, you know, if they force me to go back to Australia, I-I-I-I can't go to Mackenzie and say, "Come with me. Just leave everything you have," you know? I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. I can't do that.
Lily: Well, what about the babies? I mean, what happens then?
Cane: You know I love these babies, don't you? You know I'm their dad. You know that's not gonna change. You do know that, don't you?
Lily: No, I know. I know. But, I mean, twins--that's a lot to take on by yourself.
Cane: Yeah, I can handle that. I can do this. I mean, people do this all the time. Don't worry about that.
Lily: (Sighs) I guess I didn't think things through as well as I should have.
Cane: Hey, you know that's okay, right? You had a lot on your mind. Look, let's, um, let's talk about this, all right? We'll work this out together. Is that okay?
Lily: Yeah.
Cane: Yeah?
Lily: I'm--I'm sorry if I hurt you.
Cane: No, you don't have to be sorry. You didn't hurt me. Let's sit down. We'll get Mac. We'll get Michael. We'll get our families together. And we will, uh, figure it out before those babies are born, okay?
Lily: Okay.
Cane: Okay, Baby. Come here.
Lily: (Sighs)
Cane: (Sighs)
J.T.: You okay?
Mac: I don't--I don't know. It's a sharp... (Sighs) Sharp pain.
Kay: Still? Careful, Darling.
Mac: (Sighs) It's gone.
J.T.: Uh, here, sit down. Sit down.
Mac: It's gone now.
Kay: Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. All right, now...
Mac: (Sighs)
Kay: Better?
Mac: Yeah.
J.T.: How's that feel?
Kay: Well, may--may-- maybe it's, uh, just cramps. I mean, uh, Darling, I know it's difficult. Relax. Just relax. Breathe. Breathe. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.
Mac: (Inhales deeply) (Exhales slowly)
Kay: Good girl. (Sighs)
J.T.: Do you feel better?
Mac: Yeah.
J.T.: Yeah? Okay.
Mac: Yeah.
J.T.: Yeah, maybe you just overdid it, you know? With the hearing and all.
Mac: Yeah.
Billy: Hey, hey, everybody. I am back from Tokyo with presents for my little boo-boo.
Kay: Oh, Lord.
Billy: Is she upstairs?
Kay: Uh, no, uh, Chloe took her off somewhere, Darling.
Billy: Oh, okay, well, then I'll just call Chloe and see when she's due back with Delia.
Mac: Aah!
J.T.: Mac, are you okay?
Kay: (Stammers) Mac--
Billy: Oh, wow. Whoa, what's going on?
J.T.: Are you okay?
Mac: No, I'm not okay! (Groans) Ow. Aah!
Kay: Uh, look, let's get her to the hospital. Come on.
J.T.: Yeah, let's go.
Billy: Let's go. Let's go.
Kay: Come on. Come on. Come on. Everybody.
J.T.: Breathe deep.
Kay: Both of you, take her. Billy, take her arm. Help her.
Mac: (Groaning)
J.T.: Come on.
Kay: Breathe. Try and breathe, Darling. Deep breaths.
Skye: As soon as I win, we'll be able to come and go as we please. No one would dare touch us.
Adam: That doesn't include my father.
Skye: Victor has no influence here-- none. The judge only deals with people he can trust.
Adam: (Shuffles cards) Only those who pay for their protection.
Skye: Money talks.
Adam: Well, my father's money screams at the top of its lungs.
Skye: We've greased enough palms here to be able to relax--
(Knock on door)
Adam: I thought you told management we didn't want to be disturbed.
Skye: I'll get rid of whoever it is. Then I need to get a move on. Mr. Wan doesn't like it when people are late.
Adam: (Sighs)
Skye: Judge Medeiros. What a surprise.
Judge: Don't you look stunning?
Skye: Thank you.
Adam: How'd you know where to find us?
Judge: I know everything. I will be accompanying you tonight, to the game, that is.
Skye: You will?
Judge: Yes. It's always a pleasure to play with the best. Is there a problem?
Skye: Mr. Wan isn't expecting you, so there might be.
Judge: (Chuckles) I have--
Skye: He's very particular about who sits in, so...
Judge: I have faith that you will convince Mr. Wan to let me in, especially with so much at stake.
Michael: Hey, thank you.
Phyllis: Hey.
Michael: Oh.
Nick: Hey, Bud, you want a sandwich or something?
Michael: No, thank you. I'm good. Oh, wait, no. Turkey? Yeah.
Phyllis: Oh. Oh.
Michael: Well, I didn't realize you had Faith today. Hello!
Phyllis: Yeah, um, Sharon actually left Faith with Nikki, but Nick wanted to spend some time with her before he went to court.
Nick: Poor thing's been bounced around so much. She's not gonna know which end is up.
Michael: Oh, Faith has always been loved and cared for. So you got a lot going for you, don't you, Baby? Don't you? (Chuckles)
Nick: Yeah, well, I'll never get back that time I lost with her. That's why every minute I can spend with her now means so much. (Sighs)
Phyllis: Strategy?
Michael: Hmm? Oh, yeah...
Phyllis: Yeah.
Michael: Strategy. Well, before we get into that, I got a phone call. The D.A. knows about Victor and Sharon's trip to South America.
Nick: Damn it.
Phyllis: Oh, no. He's gonna have somebody go down there and stop what they're doing?
Michael: Oh, no, I hope not. If Adam gets wind, there goes our chances of hauling him back to court to testify.
Phyllis: Oh, no. Okay, so this means that the tape of Nick actually-- no, of Adam actually setting Nick up, that's inadmissible, right?
Michael: Well, according to Owen, that doesn't matter anyway.
Nick: Why not?
Michael: The D.A.'s convinced that Victor and Sharon are preparing for you to join them.
Phyllis: Oh, my-- that's insane. So he thinks that Nick is actually gonna go down to Brazil and run off with Sharon.
Nick: I mean, that's ridiculous. Faith is here.
Phyllis: Yeah, not-- not to mention your wife and your other child Summer.
Nick: What is he thinking?
Phyllis: (Scoffs)
Nick: I'm not going anywhere, obviously.
Michael: Well, according to him, you're a flight risk. You have been from the beginning.
Nick: So what does this mean?
Michael: Well, for starters, Victor's been subpoenaed. Owen's demanding that he appear in court.
Phyllis: Oh, my God. Victor has to find Adam.
Nick: Well, so what's Dad supposed to do? Just leave Sharon down in Brazil? I never wanted her to go in the first place. It's too dangerous.
(Knock on door)
Sharon: Who is it?
Victor: It's Victor.
Sharon: (Sighs) Another five minutes, you would have missed me.
Victor: Why? Were you going somewhere?
Sharon: I thought I would go downtown, check out some of the boutiques, maybe eat in a café, you know. Uh, see and be seen.
Victor: You can't be serious. You were gonna go shopping?
Sharon: No, I figured since the photo in the newspaper isn't working, I might try and smoke Adam out this way.
Victor: Sharon, you're not gonna do that.
Sharon: Victor--
Victor: I won't allow it.
Sharon: Okay, I'm not gonna take any unnecessary risk. If you want, you can come with me. You can watch from a distance, make sure everything's okay.
Victor: Listen carefully. I'm gonna change our plans, okay?
Sharon: What's going on?
Victor: We need to go home as soon as possible.
Lily: The stuff for the nursery is so adorable.
Cane: Hey, you know, we can order those wallpaper samples whenever you like.
Lily: Ooh, Angels.
Cane: Ooh.
Lily: I love the idea of the babies feeling like angels are watching over them.
(Knock on door)
Lily: Oh, it might be Mac. She said she might come by, so...
Cane: Right.
Billy: Hey. Um, can I come in?
Lily: Yeah.
Billy: Hello, Gorgeous.
Lily: (Chuckles) Yeah, right.
Billy: I knew I should have called first, but I heard you were back from France, and I just wanted to see with my own eyes how good you are doing.
Lily: (Chuckles)
Billy: And I didn't want to blurt this out over the phone.
Cane: Blurt what out over the phone?
Lily: Did something happen?
Billy: Well, I was at Katherine's, and Mac was there, and she must not be feeling so hot, because they took her to the hospital.
Lily: Oh, my gosh.
Billy: But I'm sure she'll-- she'll be fine.
Cane: All right, hey, well, what happened? Do they know?
Lily: Is it the babies?
Billy: Uh, well, there was some twinging and some cramping and whatever.
Cane: (Sighs)
Billy: But, uh, Katherine wanted to play it safe. And--and--and I'm sure it's gonna be okay, and Mac just--she-- she wanted me to tell you. She made me promise, and she wants you to know that it's okay. She doesn't want you to worry.
Lily: W-well, we have to get to the hospital.
Cane: All right, come on.
Doctor: It's not Braxton-hicks. You're in labor.
Mac: But it's too soon. I had a miscarriage--
Doctor: Well, I don't believe that's an issue here. Preterm labor is common with multiples.
J.T.: See? You even told me that, remember?
Doctor: The babies' heartbeats are strong. I'm giving you nifedipine to try and stop the labor, and we'll start you on betamethasone to speed up the development of the babies' lungs. What I need for you to do is to get some rest.
Kay: Well, uh, you can make certain of that, Doctor.
Doctor: I'll be back shortly to check on you, okay? Try and relax.
Mac: Nothing can happen to these babies.
J.T.: The doctor's doing everything she can.
Kay: (Sighs) Oh, Sweetheart.
Kay: Katherine Chancellor here. Are you listening up there? Because we're counting on you to keep my granddaughter safe and these two precious children she's carrying as-- a-and we don't want you to let us down, Lord. You hear me? 'Cause if you-- if you do let us down, oh, we are gonna have words.
J.T.: Amen.
Mac: (Sighs)
J.T.: (Sighs)
Kay: Hmm?
Skye: Give me a moment, will you? I'm almost ready. Then we can leave.
Judge: My driver and I will be right here.
Skye: Thanks.
Adam: Skye, I don't know. I don't know, but this doesn't smell right to me. He--he knows where to find us, and now he wants in the game. Something-- something isn't right. What the hell's going on?
Skye: It threw me, too, but what are we gonna do?
Adam: What are we gonna do? You're gonna back out of the game. You find some kind of an excuse.
Skye: Everything will be fine, okay? I've got this.
Adam: Okay, what if you don't "have this"?
Skye: I have dealt with guys like the judge before. I can handle myself. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?
Adam: You serious? I don't know. You could lose. You could disappear. You could end up in an alleyway somewhere with some bullet holes in your head.
Skye: Okay, you've been reading way too many graphic novels. We need to find a better way for you to occupy your time.
Adam: Skye, I'm serious. This is serious--
Skye: Look, shh! Please.
Adam: Listen to me. You are way too complacent about all of this.
Skye: On the contrary. But I want the judge to think I am. The best way to get him to drop his guard and show his hand.
Adam: I don't know. This better work.
Skye: Just stay and chill out, okay? I'll be back before you know it. Then we can carry on ---
(Door opens)
Judge: Time to go.
Skye: All right.
Adam: (Quietly) Look, when the game's over, just meet me at the beach where we planned, okay?
Skye: Kiss for luck?
Adam: Kiss for luck, not that she needs it. (Whispers) Be careful.
Skye: (Whispers) You worry too much.
Adam: (Sighs)
Skye: (Sighs) Gentlemen, shall we?
Adam: (Sighs)
Sharon: I can't believe it. They actually subpoenaed you.
Victor: You know the way the district attorney operates. It shouldn't surprise you.
Sharon: I keep thinking that man is going to somehow see reason.
Victor: You always see the good in people, don't you?
Sharon: Yeah, that's one of my greatest failings.
Victor: No, it isn't. It's a quality I admire.
Sharon: Well, look where it's gotten me. If I hadn't seen something redeemable in Adam, I n--wouldn't have gotten involved with him. None of this would have happened.
Victor: You know that Adam would have found some other way to torment people.
Sharon: (Sighs) So what did Michael say about the subpoena? Can you fight it?
Victor: No other way but to go back to Genoa City and testify.
Sharon: Okay, so you go back. I will stay here. I'll look for Adam.
Victor: You will do no such thing, Sharon.
Sharon: Victor, I can handle this.
Victor: Come here. Do I need to remind you that Adam has been flushed out? That he's desperate? Okay? You can't do this. You're the mother of my grandchildren. Need I say more? You pack your things right now. You go to the airstrip. You wait by my plane. I'll get there as soon as possible, okay?
Sharon: What about Adam?
Victor: Don't you worry about Adam. When I get to that plane, he'll be with me. And please do as I say.
Lily: How--how's Mac? Is she okay? Are the babies okay?
Kay: Uh, uh, the d-doctor's in there with her now.
Cane: Have you talked to her?
Kay: Yes.
Lily: And wh--wh-- what'd she say?
Kay: She's in labor.
Billy: Is it false contractions like with Chloe?
J.T.: No, it's the real deal.
Cane: Wait, wait, wait. Mac's having the baby now?
Lily: But she's not due for two more months.
J.T.: The doctor's got her on some medicine. They're trying to put things on hold.
Kay: Yes. Oh, uh, here's the doctor now. Ask her.
Billy: Hey, what's the good word, Doc?
Doctor: Um, we've been able to slow down Mackenzie's contractions. I'm hoping to stop them completely.
Lily: And, uh, what if you can't?
Doctor: Well, the babies are 28 weeks. Their survival rate is good-- 80%.
Cane: All right, what about complications?
Doctor: My overall concerns at this point are, uh, overall size and lung development.
Kay: Well, how much do you think they're going to weigh?
Doctor: In the neighborhood of 2 1/2, 3 pounds.
Kay: Oh, God.
J.T.: That's a pretty small neighborhood.
Billy: Are they gonna be okay if they're that tiny?
Doctor: Well, every case is different. The timing's not ideal, but every day that we prolong gestation, the greater the odds tip in our favor. The babies will be stronger, and their lungs will be bigger.
Lily: Can I see her?
Doctor: Sure. She's anxious, so, you know, I want her on bed rest until, uh, she delivers.
Cane: Okay.
Lily: Okay.
Kay: Mm.
Lily: Hi.
Mac: I'm sorry.
Lily: (Sighs) Oh, Mac, do not be sorry. You have nothing to be sorry for. This is not about what you did or didn't do. Everything we read said that twins could come early.
Mac: But this is too early.
Lily: Well, you know, Dr. Caroll said that she thinks the medication could stop the contractions.
Mac: Yeah, she hopes the medication can stop the contractions, but there's no guarantees.
Lily: (Sighs) No guarantees. Where have I heard that before? No guarantees they can save my eggs. No guarantees they'll be viable. No guarantees there'll even be a pregnancy.
Mac: (Chuckles) You're an incurable optimist, you know that?
Lily: Well, it got me this far. We have to expect good things, okay?
Mac: (Sniffles) I'm trying. (Sighs)
Lily: Let me read you something.
Lily: "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."
Mac: My dad used to read that to me when we were down south building houses for the poor.
Lily: Well, my dad used to read it to me and Devon when, uh, he wanted us to clean our room.
Mac: (Laughs)
Lily: (Chuckles)
Billy: It's a hell of a thing, huh?
J.T.: Yeah. (Sighs) Especially now, after Mac had to go through that hearing.
Billy: What hearing?
Cane: You know, the thought that I could lose all of them--
Kay: Shh! Now listen to me. I know you're frightened. But your wife is alive, and so are your children. Yes, Lily has cancer, and things look bleak. But she's sill fighting, so you fight. Mackenzie's in there fighting to keep those babies inside of her.
Cane: Yeah.
Kay: And I--to have your guts tied in knots all the time, my God, that's not helping. Sweetheart, the worst-case scenario about this situation--
Billy: This is your fault. How could you do this to Mac?
Cane: What'd I do to Mac?
Billy: The lawsuit.
J.T.: Hey. Hey. Listen to me. You guys keep it down. Mac's right inside that room. Do not upset her.
Billy: Dr. Caroll, could I ask you a question? Could stress have caused Mac to go into labor?
Dr. Caroll: Oh, twins are prone to coming early.
Billy: Okay, but if she had a really tough day, and then suddenly she starts having contractions, could that have been...
Dr. Caroll: Well, I-I couldn't say for sure that there's a connection.
Billy: But it's possible?
Dr. Caroll: Yes, stress can be a contributing factor to premature labor.
Billy: Nice going.
Kay: That's enough, Billy.
Dr. Caroll: You know, what caused this isn't important. My concern is stopping it.
Billy: Yeah, you heard her. If it wasn't for you, Mac wouldn't be in the hospital. And those babies, they wouldn't be in trouble now.
Kay: Billy, I said, "That is enough!" Now this is not helping. You heard the doctor. She said she wasn't sure if stress had anything to do with it.
Billy: Come on. Like it's a coincidence that she's now in the hospital the same day he drags her into court.
Cane: I was trying to save her. You saw her. You saw how sick she was. So if you think I'm gonna sit around and organize a funeral when I can make a difference? It's not gonna happen.
Kay: Now, both of you, you--you listen to me. Whatever grudges the two of you are carrying, this is not helping. Do you understand that? Do I make myself clear?!
Billy: Yeah.
Cane: Yes, you do.
J.T.: What do you mean, "I can't wait on you"?
Mac: There's nothing I want right now except for the babies to be okay.
J.T.: All right, well, Lily, how about you? Strawberry shake from the café? I'd be happy to get it.
Lily: Uh, maybe later. Thank you.
Mac: You're sweet to offer, though.
J.T.: I know. Ouch. (Laughs)
Mac: You love it.
Lily: (Chuckles) Look at you two.
J.T.: Yeah, we are, uh, quite a pair, huh?
Lily: And when did this happen?
Mac: Um...
J.T.: Not that long ago.
Lily: Well, you two deserve a second chance. It's just so great for you guys.
Mac: No accounting for taste.
J.T.: Yeah, can you believe she puts up with me?
Lily: (Chuckles)
Mac: Oh, I am the lucky one. He has to deal with all my middle-of-the-night cravings.
J.T.: Yeah, try finding a hot dog stand open at 3:00 A.M.
Mac: Yeah, and then while I'm eating, he tells the babies super-corny jokes.
J.T.: Corny? All right, a skeleton walks into a bar and orders...
Mac and J.T.: A beer and a mop.
J.T.: See? Huh? I'll be here all week.
Lily: (Chuckles) Okay. Oh, well, I am very, very happy for you guys. Some crazy family we're turning into, huh?
Mac: (Winces) Ow! Ow!
Lily: What's wrong? Are you okay?
J.T.: All right, hold on.
Mac: Ow!
Lily: Okay, it's okay. Get--get a doctor, J.T.
Mac: (Groans)
Lily: It's okay. Just breathe, okay? Breathe.
J.T.: Hey, we need a doctor!
Mac: Ow! Aah!
Lily: Don't worry. Mac, it's gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay. Don't worry, okay?
Nick: Look, Owen knows that Adam is not dead.
Phyllis: Yeah, Victor is actually doing his job for him. He should be grateful.
Michael: Okay, that's not the D.A.'s concern right now. Mr. Hightower is dead. This is his murder trial, and you're the one accused with his murder.
Phyllis: I can't even believe this. This is so wrong. If we actually had a D.A. that cared about justice--
Nick: You gotta play the hand you're dealt.
Phyllis: (Sighs) We're gonna get through this, okay? We're gonna get through this. We've gotten through worse. We beat the odds before.
Nick: Now that the trial's started, do you have any sense of how it's gonna go?
Michael: Well, I'd have a lot more ammo with Adam than without him, but until Victor drags him into that court...
Nick: Which is probably not gonna happen unless Dad defies the subpoena.
Michael: Which I strongly advised him not to contemplate, given the negative impact it would have on your case.
Nick: So what you're saying is I'm damned if he does defy the subpoena and finds Adam, and damned if he doesn't and Adam gets away.
[Adam remembering]
Sharon: "Sharon, I thought true love was something for other people, but not me. I never expected I'd feel this way about anyone until I met you. I love you with all my heart. Never forget that. Adam." (Sighs) I think you're a closet romantic.
Adam: (Sighs)
Mr. Wan: Skye. (Speaking Portuguese) Delighted you could join us.
Skye: I've had a craving for pigeon ever since I woke up this morning.
Mr. Wan: (Chuckles)
Judge: What a coincidence. So have I.
Mr. Wan: This is a closed party-- invitations only.
Skye: He is with me.
Mr. Wan: My game, my rules.
Skye: The judge is a very influential man. In the event there's any trouble with the authorities, you'll be glad you added him to the list... and you'd be doing me a favor.
Judge: It is bad luck to refuse a beautiful woman pretty much anything.
Skye: (Chuckles)
Mr. Wan: (Chuckles) The buy-in in this game is--
Judge: I'm well aware.
Mr. Wan: (Speaking Portuguese) I'll have my, uh, assistant provide you with chips. (Speaking Portuguese)
Skye: Thank you.
Mr. Wan: Ahh. May I present to you, uh, Senhora Skye.
Skye: Pleased to make your acquaintance.
Mr. Wan: And, uh, Judge Medeiros.
Judge: My pleasure.
Man: Likewise. Senhora.
Skye: So where's our friend?
Mr. Wan: I'm expecting him soon, and his money.
Man: Well, soon to be our money.
Judge: I do enjoy mentoring beginners, don't you?
Skye: Ahh, my favorite part of the game.
Nick: No answer in Dad's hotel room.
Phyllis: What about a cell?
Nick: Straight to voice mail.
Michael: Well, maybe he's already on the plane flying home.
Phyllis: Without Adam.
Nick: We don't know that.
Phyllis: Maybe he, uh, ran into Adam on his way to the airport, right? That could--
Michael: Well, Victor has surprised us before. Maybe he'll surprise us again.
Nick: I could call Sharon. Maybe she knows something. At least we'll know she's safe. (Sighs)
Michael: Uh, Nick, I'm gonna go try and talk some sense into Owen. At the very least, he can't give us too much grief for Victor not being in the courtroom today. We were just notified of the subpoena, and it's a long flight from Sao Paulo. The court's at 2:00. Be there?
Nick: Done.
Phyllis: I'll walk you out.
Michael: What the hell is going on in there? It looked like you were about to blow.
Phyllis: (Exhales slowly) Not that he would notice.
Michael: Oh, well, I noticed. What?
Phyllis: I don't--I don't even think he realizes he's doing it all the time.
Michael: All right, doing what?
Phyllis: This man's entire life is on the line-- his entire life-- and all he's worried about is Sharon.
Michael: All right, you know, she is Faith's mother.
Phyllis: I'm Summer's mother.
Michael: This is just gonna have to be one of those times you're gonna cut that man--
Phyllis: Listen, Michael-- okay, listen, listen, listen.
Michael: You've got to cut him some slack.
Phyllis: (Stammers) I-I know. He's not guilty. I know that. It's not fair what's happening to him. I know that. But I have put everything on hold for him. I am fighting for him every single day. But I swear to you, Michael, when this is over, he's gotta fight for me. I mean, I love-- I love him so much. I love him with all my heart. But I'm so tired of only getting half of his.
Nick: Should we call Mommy? Huh? It would be so good to hear her voice. Let's do it.
(Door handle rattles)
(Telephone rings)
Sharon: Hello?
Nick: Hey, it's me. You okay?
Sharon: Hi, I'm fine. I'm on my way home. I'm--I'm just now leaving for the airport.
Nick: Then you're on your way back then. Good.
Sharon: All except for the part about not finding Adam.
Nick: So you haven't seen him?
Sharon: No, though he might have seen me.
Nick: What do you mean?
Sharon: Your dad arranged for my photo to be on the front page of the newspaper walking in front of some striking workers so it wouldn't be obvious to anyone unless they recognized me.
Nick: Anyone meaning Adam?
Sharon: Yeah, that was the plan, only there's been no sign of him. Nick, I'm really sorry. In spite of how much you were upset that I came down here, I know that you were hoping we would bring Adam home.
Nick: Look, you didn't cross paths with him, and that's a good thing. Trust me. You're safe, and that's important. You know, there's somebody else here who really wants to hear your voice. Can you say hi to Mommy, faith?
Sharon: Hi, Baby. Hi, Honey.
Phyllis: Okay, I know you have to get to town, and I have to, uh, pop about five to six tranquilizers.
Michael: And I'm gonna trust you not to do anything rash where Nick is concerned.
Phyllis: Of course. Of course. Of course. What, is that a vote of confidence or a warning?
Michael: It's a little of both.
(Car doors open then close)
Phyllis: Oh, my God. What are the police doing here?
Michael: All right, stay calm.
Phyllis: Michael, oh my God.
Michael: Stay calm, all right? Here, let me do the talking. Well, uh, hello, Officers. Uh, what can I do for you this evening?
Man: We're here for Nicholas Newman.
Phyllis: (Sighs)
Nick: She heard your voice and conked right out.
Sharon: It's been so hard being away from her. She's been through so much upheaval.
Nick: Well, hopefully, this is about the end. You're gonna come home. I'm gonna be acquitted-- without Adam's testimony-- and Faith will have both her mommy and daddy around. Life will go back to normal.
Sharon: I'll pray for that.
Nick: I-I gotta go. I'll call you back.
Phyllis: (Sighs)
Sharon: Nicholas ---
(Phone hangs up)
Nick: What's up?
Michael: Um, your bail has been revoked. These officers are here to take you back to jail.
Phyllis: I can't believe that they're doing this. This is so unfair. I can't believe this.
Michael: Owen must have convinced the judge that you're a flight risk.
Phyllis: Well, that is su--
Nick: Okay, just tell Summer that--
Phyllis: Yeah, that you're on a business trip. I know the drill. I know.
Michael: I'll keep trying Victor.
Nick: I'm gonna be fine. If you get a hold of my dad, just tell him to stay and do what he needs to do.
Sharon: How long, uh, before the porter can call me a taxi? Uh, I'm going to the airport, G.R.U., where the private planes take off. Great. I'll be down shortly. And if you could have my bill prepared... obrigado.
Skye: Thank you. I've always wanted to visit Bahrain. I hear it's lovely, and the shopping is supposed to be amazing.
Man: Well, if you enjoy fine jewelry, you'll find the finest pearls on earth there.
Skye: My birthstone. Hmm... now I'm seriously tempted.
Mr. Wan: Ahh, excellent. You found the place.
Victor: Sorry to keep everyone waiting.
Mr. Wan: We were starting to wonder if you, uh, changed your mind.
Victor: No, no. Wouldn't miss this for the world. Shall we?
Doctor: I need a gurney in O.R., stat!
J.T.: What-- Doctor, what's happening?
Doctor: I haven't been able to stop the labor. The babies are in distress, and I need to do an emergency C-section now.
Kay: Uh...
Lily: Oh, my gosh.
Billy: Oh, no.
Lily: (Sighs)
Next on "The Young and The Restless"...
Nick: You took Billy Abbott with you to Japan? You never should have gone through with that meeting.
Adam: Any feelings you had for me are long gone now.
Sharon: They're not gone.
Skye: Winner takes all.
Victor: Winner takes my son Adam.
