Episode # 9354 ~ Adam Faces an Inquisition

Provided By Eric
Proofread By Emma

Adam: (Moans)

Adam: Sharon? What's going on? Did you set me up?

Victor: You're in that chair because of your duplicity and lies. That's about to end.

Adam: You lured me here for this?

Sharon: This is your doing, Adam. Don't blame me.

Nikki: Hey, Victor, it's me. Um, I don't know if you're gonna get this message or not, but I'm on my way up to the cabin. (Gasps) Oh, my Lord. Guess who is on the cover of "Restless Style"? Our good friend Tucker McCall. Oh, listen to this. "The shocking truth-- con artist." (Sighs) I'd better call Katherine and make sure she's okay. I'll get there as soon as I can. Bye.

Nikki: Oh. Well, I suppose you are responsible for this.

Jill: Why, yes. As a matter of fact, I am, and very proud of it.

Kay: Oh, I'm as stunned by that as you are.

Tucker: Right. I'm being vilified in a national magazine, and you have no idea how it happened.

Kay: Well, I know exactly how it happened. Jill dug up the same information on you as I did-- proved that you bribed that foreign official.

Tucker: (Sighs)

Kay: And when she told me that was she working on some exposé, I thought I convinced her to bury it.

Tucker: Don't insult my intelligence, Katherine. The two of you were in on this together.

Kay: That is not true! She lied to me, Tucker!

Tucker: Well, I've got a news flash for you now. This deal we just signed-- it means nothing. You won't be running Chancellor ever again.

Adam: Ashley, don't tell me you're in on this, too.

Billy: Oh, hell, yes, she is.

Nick: We all are.

Victoria: You won't find any allies here.

Jack: Who do you think put the pieces together for all the horrific things that you did?

Ashley: Sharon and I did. We checked out Dr. Taylor's story, the one he told her the morning he claimed her baby was stillborn. The morgue at St. Mary's had no infant mortalities. Neither did Fairview. That's where Sharon delivered her baby before she was transferred. There were no death certificates issued. There was no undertaker within 20 miles that had received a baby's body.

Sharon: There's no way an infant died that night.

Ashley: It's time for you to come clean, Adam. We need to know what really happened.

Adam: How could I explain something that I know nothing about?

Nick: Cut the act. We know you're lying.

Jack: We're your witnesses, Pal-- judge, jury and executioner. Only here, you have no right to remain silent. Here, you have no rights at all.

Adam: (Sighs) You know full well you can't keep me here. (Sighs)

Billy: Sure we can.

Adam: Oh, what are you gonna do? You gonna--gonna threaten me? You gonna beat me up?

Nick: If that's what it takes.

Adam: This is a kangaroo court. That's what this is. I don't deserve this. You all know full well I don't. Let me be very clear about this. I've done nothing wrong-- nothing.

Adam: (Sighs)

Victor: Look at me.

Adam: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Victor: We've all been very reasonable, very reasonable. If you don't cooperate, you leave us no choice. You will stay in this cabin until you tell us what happened to Nicholas and Sharon's baby.

Nick: Where is Phyllis?

Victoria: Well, she got a call when we were leaving town, and she said it was important and she'd join us later.

Nick: She started this whole ball rolling. What could be more important than this?

Woman: I know how busy you are, Dr. Heath...

Phyllis: Yeah, thank you.

Woman: So I won't take up much of your time.

Phyllis: (Southern accent) Well, thank you. Um, does this concern some legal matter having to do with Dr. Taylor's estate?

Woman: The night he was struck by the car, he wrote a document-- more accurately, he dictated it in the ambulance on his way to the E.R.

Phyllis: (Gasps) Oh, my word. While--while he was...

Woman: Yes.

Phyllis: Dy--right. Oh. I thought he never regained consciousness.

Woman: Only briefly.

Phyllis: Oh, my. Well, whatever was on his mind must have been weighing on him terribly.

Woman: Dr. Taylor gave the E.M.T. very specific instructions.

Phyllis: What were the instructions?

Phyllis: "For Mrs. Newman's eyes only."

Nikki: Photos... the writing... it's all sensationalized.

Jill: Every word of that is true, and we are putting the S.O.B. out of business.

Nikki: Did Katherine know about this?

Jill: About Tucker's crooked deal? Yeah, and how much trouble it would get him into, yeah.

Nikki: Mm-hmm. Why didn't she use it herself as leverage?

Jill: Because she's a softhearted old fool. I told her she was making a huge mistake.

Nikki: So instead of just honoring her wishes, you decide to nail him on her behalf.

Jill: Oh, for God sake. Instead of judging me on this, you really ought to be thanking me, Nikki. Tucker is bad news. You used to know that about him.

Nikki: You know what? Again, you are making this all about you and what you want. All Katherine wants is to get to know her son. But you clearly are going to stop her from doing that.

Tucker: Your timing was impeccable. The minute those papers were signed, you stuck in the knife. You outmaneuvered me the way I outmaneuvered you.

Kay: All right, I want you to look me straight in the eyes, and you tell me that you believe that I would jeopardize what we have been working towards, and I don't mean just business-- that we had begun to reason with one another. We had begun to understand one another. Come on, Tucker. Don't ruin that, please. Don't.

Tucker: Ever since I took your company away, you've been settin' me up. Now I gotta hand it to you, Lady. I've been playin' liar's poker for years, and you are one of the best I've ever seen.

Adam: (Sighs) Sorry, Gang. Coercion doesn't work for me.

Billy: Eh, don't do that.

Adam: (Sighs)

Nick: You're not going anywhere.

Victor: Sit down.

Adam: This is outrageous. You know that? You guys are a piece of work.

Victor: Sit down.

Adam: You know what this is? This is kidnapping, assault, conspiracy, unlawful restraint.

Jack: Sit down now!

Adam: Don't touch me, Jack.

(Knock on door)

Billy: Heather, Rafe.

Heather: Hi.

Billy: Right on time.

Adam: So you two are in on it, as well, huh?

Heather: You seem surprised.

Adam: The two of you are officers of the court. You shouldn't condone this.

Rafe: I don't see any laws being broken here. Do you?

Heather: Nope, not a one.

Adam: Yeah, okay. Nothing. Right. I was hit over the head. I was knocked unconscious. Now I'm being held hostage by some misguided vigilantes.

Rafe: It looks more to me like a--like an intervention. You're lucky to have so many people in your life who care.

Jack: Adam, things could've gone a whole lot easier for you if you'd just confessed.

Adam: To what, Jack? Jabot?

Jack: What about Jabot?

Adam: Oh, I think you and I both know what we're talking about here, Jack.

Jack: Oh, no, no, no. That ship sailed, Junior. See, Daddy and I made a deal. No one wants your testimony.

Victor: Everyone in here has been your victim. I want to know why. What was your grand plan? And where did this Dr. Taylor fit in? And more importantly, what happened to my unborn grandchild, the baby that Nick and Sharon were expecting? You give us answers to that, and we can all get out of here.

Adam: I'm sorry, Dad. I have nothing for you or anyone in here.

Billy: "Sorry," my ass.

Ashley: You know you have answers.

Jack: That's not gonna work.

Adam: Sharon, listen to me. You know me better than anybody in this room. You know I'm not capable of the things they're accusing me of.

Sharon: You want me to help you, Adam? Then answer the question. What happened to my baby? Tell me!

Woman: As Dr. Taylor's executor, it's my responsibility to deliver that letter to its proper recipient. I thought since you're so familiar with the man's work and recently went through his private archives, that maybe--

Phyllis: (Southern accent) Um, oh, I-I'm sure I can help you.

Woman: Really?

Phyllis: Yeah. Um, I-I think that-- that this letter is meant for...

Phyllis: Mrs. Phyllis Newman, Nicholas Newman's wife.

Woman: So it is that family. I was wondering.

Phyllis: Yeah, oh, it's that family, for sure. Um, Phyllis Newman and Dr. Taylor became quite close when he was in Genoa City. And she--she is a lovely, lovely woman. I-I-I've met her socially, and I-in fact, I could just give this to her.

Woman: Uh, thanks, but no. I-I would like to take care of it.

Phyllis: W--

Woman: Now that I know who it belongs to, I can put it directly into her hands.

Phyllis: All right, well, you could trust me. You could trust me, because I-I'll just swing by there on my way home. I-I know exactly where she lives.

Woman: Thank you for your help, Dr. Heath, but I can handle it. Now if you don't mind, I really need to be going.

Phyllis: Um, just one-- one moment please. Just one--one second. Um, th-this letter here, uh... I-I'm--I'm gonna tell you something. (Sighs) It's gonna sound very strange to you. (Normal voice) I'm Phyllis Newman, and I'm quite certain that this letter is meant for me.

Kay: You need to blame someone, so you're lashing out at me. (Chuckles) Well... (Sighs) We just signed some papers, and we're stuck with each other. Now we're partners, whether you like it or not.

Tucker: That doesn't take effect for a month. And in the meantime, I'm running the show.

Kay: (Stammers)

Tucker: A lot can happen in 30 days, you know.

Kay: Listen--listen to me, please. Now don't do anything rash. I promise you, I wasn't the one who did it.

Tucker: Promise? Like that means anything to me.

Kay: Use this time then. Use--use the 30 days. You will see that I'm telling the truth. We were making such progress. My God, don't throw it away.

Tucker: Fine. 30 days, at the end of which Tucker McCall, Unlimited, may be in shambles. You have any idea of the legal mess that's about to rain down on me because of you?

Kay: For the last time, I'm trying to tell--

Tucker: Just stop. Stop. I'll find the truth my own way when I'm not dodging reporters, department of justice.

Woman: I don't know what game you're playing at, but clearly, you misrepresented yourself.

Phyllis: No, no, I didn't. Listen, a-a child's life is at stake. A child's life is at stake. That's why I pretended to be somebody else.

Woman: Why should I believe a word of what you're saying?

Phyllis: Because what I'm saying is true. I am Phyllis Newman.

Woman: I should have you arrested.

Phyllis: Please don't. Please don't, Mrs. Harrison, just--right here. I'll show you. I'll show you. I am Phyllis Newman. This is my wallet. And look at that. Look at that. There's--there's--there's my license--Phyllis Newman. Credit card right there. Um, what--library card. Well, no. Another credit card. Um, here, library card. This is--this is me all over this table. This is my life.

Mrs. Harrison: If this is legitimate, why use a fake name?

Phyllis: (Sighs) Because Dr. Taylor was brought in to treat several members of my family, some women in my family. And we believe that he was manipulated by my brother-in-law who is a convicted felon.

Mrs. Harrison: Manipulated, how?

Phyllis: It's a long story, but I was gonna meet with Dr. Taylor the day of the accident, if it was an accident. I saw him fighting with my brother-in-law before he was hit by the car.

Mrs. Harrison: You were there?

Phyllis: Yes, I was an eyewitness. It's on--on the police report.

Mrs. Harrison: None of that explains why you lied to go through his private papers.

Phyllis: I'll tell you why. (Sighs) Listen, I found several things in his storage facility to confirm our suspicions about our brother-in-law. Obviously, Dr. Taylor wanted-- wanted to come forward. That's why he dictated that letter. But he never got a chance. It's about a child. It's about a child. Please, Mrs. Harrison. Please help me. It's a matter of life and death. It truly is.

Adam: Why are you all so convinced that something sinister was going on?

Jack: You don't do anything that isn't sinister, Adam.

Adam: Why don't you look at Ashley? Everybody, look at her. She's fine. She's fine, and so is the baby. You've got a beautiful healthy baby girl, Ashley.

Sharon: And what about my baby, Adam? The one that Dr. Taylor said was dead. Is it--isn't my baby alive, too?

Adam: I don't know, okay? I-I-I-I don--I don't know, Sharon, for God sake. You know that I love you, okay? I-I- don't know. If the doctor said that the baby was stillborn, then that's what happened. Why would he lie about it?

Sharon: That's why we're confronting you, Adam. Because we're certain that he did lie.

Adam: Well, I don't know, okay? I don't know, everybody. I don't--I don't know if the baby is dead. I don't know if the baby's alive and the doctor took the baby. Sharon, I love you. I'm sorry. I wish I had answers for you, but I don't. God help me, I don't.

Jack: Sharon, don't let Adam get to you. Stay strong.

Victoria: Come on. It's vintage Adam. He's always the victim.

Ashley: He's trying to manipulate you. You know that.

Billy: Don't give in to this guy again.

Adam: Since when did I become the antichrist? I'm not some monster. I have feelings just like everybody in this room.

Rafe: For yourself, no one else.

Adam: She's my wife. What would you know about it?

Nick: How much did you get for her?

Adam: What?

Nick: For our daughter when you sold her. How much cash did you and Taylor get for her?

Adam: You think I sold the baby?

Heather: There's a thriving black market for healthy infants, Adam.

Adam: How sick can you be? You're sicker than I ever thought I could be. I've had enough of this garbage. I'm--

Billy: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Victor: Sit down, Son.

Adam: You know what I'm gonna tell you? I'm gonna tell you nothing, 'cause I know nothing, and I'm not gonna fabricate things. I know nothing.

Victor: Now sit down.

Sharon: (Sighs) Victor, can I talk to him?

Victor: Please.

Sharon: Adam, every day of my life, I wake up, and I think about the little girl who I had who didn't make it, who never even took a breath. But I heard her cry. And Dr. Taylor said she didn't, but... (Sighs) He said that maybe I was hallucinating and that I was so desperate to have her be okay, but... Adam, if that's not true, and if Dr. Taylor is lying, and my baby is out there being raised by some other people, then you--you have to tell me, Adam. Please. If you won't do it to save yourself, then do it for me. Do it for me.

Nick: I'm sick of you lying, Adam!

Billy: Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Nick: She was telling the truth!

Victor: Son, come on. Stay. Calm down.

Mrs. Harrison: I don't approve of your tactics, Mrs. Newman.

Phyllis: No.

Mrs. Harrison: But my job is to deliver this letter, and it appears to be for you.

Phyllis: Yes.

Mrs. Harrison: Sign by the "X," please.

Phyllis: Okay. Thank you, Counselor. Um, you've made the right decision. Thank you very much.

Mrs. Harrison: I hope you find the child you're looking for.

Phyllis: (Thinking) "Mrs. Newman, I may not have much time left-- need you to know the truth. You had a miscarriage. You were not pregnant."

Phyllis: Oh, my God. (Sighs)

Jill: Absolutely. I can provide copies of all the documents you need for your investigation. Yes, we can meet at the embassy-- whatever you'd prefer, whatever's convenient. Absolute-ly. Mr. Jovanovic, I'm gonna have to cut this short. There's something I have to take care of. Can I call you back? Thanks. The Serbian government is showing a lot of interest in your dealings with Alexander Tomas as well as the national business press. My phone hasn't stopped ringing.

Tucker: Oh, I bet you're loving that, aren't you, Jill?

Jill: This is shaping up to be a very special issue. Yeah, Tucker, I'm loving it.

Tucker: You know, any journalist worth their salt would have asked me to comment.

Jill: You and I both know that if I'd done that, you would have put a stop to it. This way, the article speaks for itself.

Tucker: Bravo. So where'd you get your information?

Jill: You know where I got my information.

Tucker: Katherine?

Jill: Let's just say it was Katherine, okay? What would your next step be?

Tucker: To make sure that if I go down for this, so does she.

Jill: Well, Katherine didn't give you up. Billy and I just happen to be incredible investigators.

Phyllis: (Thinking) "After you lost the baby, your mind couldn't accept it. You suffered an hysterical pregnancy, never gave birth. So sorry I couldn't tell you before this. Adam blackmailed me even to the end to convince you you'd had a baby. So much more to tell, but no time-- eternal regret. May God forgive me. Charles Taylor." "I have so much more to tell, but no time." Like Faith. So Ashley wasn't pregnant. (Sighs) Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Michael: Hey, Phyllis. Phyllis? Phyllis. Hey, what's wrong?

Phyllis: I'm sorry. Um, I-I-I have to go up to the Abbott cabin. Can you drive me? Can you take me? I-I'll explain e-everything on the way.

Michael: All right, I got a-- I got an appointment around--

Phyllis: Just-- are you gonna come? Are you coming as my friend?

Michael: Well, yeah, okay. Fine, let's go.

Phyllis: Are you gonna come?

Michael: But you know-- all right, fine. Really.

Adam: Okay, you know what? This has gone on long enough. You want to know some truths? I've got a few. Except for Sharon, there isn't an innocent face in this room. Each and every one of you have used me when it suited your purpose. You have taken advantage of me, undermined me. My so-called family never gave me a chance, treated me like an outsider, set me up to fail again and again and again. You think you can beat me down. We've got two hypocrites over here, Rafe and Heather. So much for upholding the law. Beat me down to learn the truth. The truth is, I have been beaten down ever since I arrived in Genoa City.

Victor: Now, Son, you will act like a man. This is your last chance.

Adam: You want to know the truth about Taylor? I'll tell you everything.

Michael: Wha-- you're saying that Nick and Sharon's baby may--

Phyllis: Is alive.

Michael: Because Taylor's letter said she is?

Phyllis: Yes. Yes, the baby that Cassíe supposedly predicted for them, the baby that Nick left me for before is alive.

Michael: All right, Phyllis. Don't do this.

Phyllis: (Sighs) Don't do what? You had a front row seat last time. You remember? Nick left me. You remember. You didn't forget. I mean, I certainly didn't forget.

Michael: Yeah, well, Nick came back to you.

Phyllis: Yes, he did.

Michael: And he made a commitment to you.

Phyllis: Yeah, he did. And I know all about Nick's commitments, and he's very sincere, and I know that he loves me, but then something... (Sighs) Then Sharon reminds him of their history together, and then... (Gasps) (Sighs) Turn this car around. I'm going home.

Michael: What?

Phyllis: No, I'm going home. I changed my mind. I'm going home.

Michael: Oh, Phyllis, please. Just--Phyllis--

Phyllis: No, I'm going home. I need time to think about this. I can't do this right now.

Michael: Think about what? This is not your decision to make.

Phyllis: It is my decision to make. I control my own life and my future.

Michael: Oh, right, fine. G-- great. Go ahead. Don't show Nick the letter. Lie to your husband.

Phyllis: It's not the first time, a-and it's a white lie.

Michael: Oh, will you listen to yourself? Look, y-you would be keeping a child away from Nick. You do that, you're no better than Adam.

Phyllis: What he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?

Michael: Oh, see, this is so typical of you. As soon as you feel backed into a corner, you start behaving like--

Phyllis: What? What do I do? What do I do? I claw my way out. I survive, Michael.

Michael: But you won't survive. Not like this.

Phyllis: Yes, I will.

Michael: Damn it, Phyllis, you know you won't! Look, somewhere inside, you realize what keeping this information will do. So I am taking you to the cabin because I know you will figure this out, and you will do the right thing. (Sighs)

Victoria: Hang in there, Sharon.

Sharon: Okay.

Adam: Ashley needed a doctor. Charles Taylor was the best.

Nikki: So you decided to blackmail him?

Adam: Because of what I knew, Dr. Taylor was gonna be at Ashley's beck and call. He was gonna devote himself to her.

Jack: A man who'd been accused of molesting his own patients? That's who you put in charge of my sister.

Adam: Jack, if he were anything but the consummate professional, he knows that I would have blown the whistle on him.

Ashley: (Groans)

Victor: Stick to the night my child was born, the night Nick's and Sharon's child allegedly died. You were there. Dr. Taylor was there. Let's hear it.

Sharon: Adam, please. I need to know what happened.

Nick: Whose ashes did we scatter? We know they weren't our daughter's. How'd you get 'em? Where'd they come from?

Adam: Nick, I am sorry. If I knew where your child was...

Billy: That's why you were there. Yeah, I saw you at the funeral home around the time the baby would have been cremated. We were planning Colleen's funeral.

Ashley: Oh, my God.

Billy: Explain that. Come on. Explain that one.

Adam: Funeral home? What are you talking about, Billy?

Nikki: Oh, my God. You stole someone's ashes?

Adam: No, Billy. Listen, you were grieving. You were under duress. You saw someone that you thought was me.

Billy: You know what? I'm sorry. I've got a better idea. I can make this guy talk. Come on!

Jack: No, no, no. Not now. Wait a minute.

Victoria: Wait a minute. Hold on. Hey, you guys, wait. Stop. Not like this! Not like this.

Jack: What kind of scum goes to a funeral home to steal ashes?

Nick: You lying creep.

Sharon: My God, whose ashes did we scatter?

Jack: Are you kidding me?

Victor: That's enough!

Nick: Dad, five minutes.

Victor: That's enough.

Nick: Five minutes alone with him, and will make him talk.

Heather: Wait, I'm sorry. I can't let you do this.

Victor: You will not do a damn thing. The D.A. needs a confession. We're gonna get it.

Heather: If it's coerced, it's useless to me.

Victor: If you don't like it, Miss Stevens, get out.

Heather: Look, if anyone wants to see Adam get what's coming to him, it's me, but I just--I-I-- I can't allow this to continue.

Rafe: I won't be a party to it, either.

Jack: You don't have to be.

Victor: The two of you, get out. Take a walk now. Take a walk!

Adam: You're gonna leave me here with these crazy people? If something happens to me, it's on your head.

Victor: Anyone else wants to leave... all right, now let's get down to business.

Jill: Your interest is gratifying. Yeah, I'll look forward to your column. No, no, no. Thank you. Okay, bye.

(Front door closes)

Kay: Now you promised me that you would not run that article. What did you do? Have your fingers crossed or your thumb up your--

Jill: Katherine, I just changed my mind. And you know something? I'm really glad I did. That story worked out exactly as I wanted it to. By this time tomorrow, Tucker will be the number one story in every newspaper across the country.

Kay: Oh, well, Tucker and I just signed a piece of paper giving me back controlling interest of Chancellor Industries when that rag of yours appeared out of nowhere! Now what do you think my chances are of ever getting my company back?

Jill: Tucker would be a fool to honor that contract with you.

Kay: Oh, he was smart enough to walk away from you.

Jill: Oh, what do you know about it?

Kay: Oh, I know you, Jill Foster. You are petty. You are jealous. You are a shrew!

Jill: Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, at least I never gave away my illegitimate son thinking it was a daughter for all those years. That's how screwed up you are.

Kay: Can you ever, ever find it in your life to let loose of the past?

Jill: Oh, shut up!

Kay: God, I've tried my best to make amends.

Jill: For once in our life, let's be honest, okay?

Kay: (Scoffs)

Jill: No, this is not about you playing mommy to Tucker. This is about you getting your company back. You admit that, and I will admit that this is all about me knocking the king off his throne.

Kay: (Sighs) Mm-hmm. You mean payback.

Jill: Yeah, Katherine, payback. Sue me.

Kay: Mm-hmm. And that you were not looking after my best interests while following your high standards of journalistic integrity and, um, your ethical responsibility toward the business community-- you will give up all those pretenses?

Jill: If you get real, so will I.

Kay: (Sighs)

Jill: Let's face it, Katherine. We're just a couple of selfish bitches.

Kay: Well put.

Tucker: (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Tucker: (Sighs) This is McCall. Of course I've seen it. No, no, no, no. You need to stay cool. Now you go to your department heads and you tell them it's being handled. (Sighs)

Tucker: This is Tucker. In the next 30 days, I want Chancellor Industries completely dismantled.

Victoria: (Sighs) All right, so what about it? Think you can go back in there and stick to the plan from here on out?

Billy: There's only one way to make Adam talk, and it doesn't involve threats.

Victoria: Billy.

Billy: Hey, he needs... (Chuckles) He's not gonna respond to intimidation. He needs to feel the pain.

Victoria: I want you to listen to me, all right? My father put this together very carefully.

Billy: (Sighs)

Victoria: We each have a role to play, and if you go off, and you try to do your own thing, and you mess this up, Adam is not gonna feel how determined we are as a group.

Billy: Okay.

Victoria: It's the best weapon that we have right now.

Billy: Fine. If that doesn't work?

Victoria: Well, if that doesn't work, then I fully support your plan to take him out back and-- and do things your way or whatever.

Billy: Fine.

Sharon: Adam, you keep telling me you love me.

Adam: I do, Sharon. You know I do.

Sharon: No, I don't know anything anymore. Please tell me what happened to my baby.

Adam: Sharon, look at me. Look at me. I would never do anything to hurt you more than you've already been hurt. Now you have to look at me and tell me that you believe me.

(Door opens)

Adam: Sharon, remember when it was just you and me when we first got together? Nobody else understood, but you and I did. It was just us against the world. Nothing has changed. Please, just tell me that you believe in me.

Victor: All right, I think I've heard enough. How about the rest of you?

Nick: More than enough.

Nikki: Mm-hmm.

Victor: Time is up, Son. No one is coming to your defense-- neither Sharon, nor Ashley-- no one-- not even the two people who are sworn to uphold the law. Are you getting the drift? No one is coming to your defense. We're gonna stay here until you tell us the truth. And we'll get it out of you by whatever means necessary.

Phyllis: No one has to know.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Nick: We need to talk.

Sharon: Nick, my head is spinning.

Nick: I know. Mine, too.

Adam: Dr. Taylor was alone with you. If he did anything, it was without my knowledge. I don't--

Nick: That's enough! That's enough! Start, talking, Adam! Now!
