Episode # 9323 ~ Victor and Jack Square Off
Provided By Eric
Proofread By Emma
Kay: Well, are they here yet?
Neil: Uh, no, they're not. Uh, you're actually early. And we'll be right over there. Hi.
Kay: Oh. Jack, Victor, you, me, Michael--in the same room? That'll certainly set tongues wagging, won't it?
Neil: Yeah, I'll say. You know, McCall's takeover of Chancellor Industries was front page in "The Journal" again.
Kay: Oh, I know. I read it. Well, are they right? Uh, do you think I'm done?
Neil: They don't know what they're talking about, all right? You have many, many more tricks up your sleeve.
Kay: Oh, God, Neil. Have I ever thanked you for your loyalty?
Neil: Katherine, the feeling is absolutely mutual, all right?
(Cell phone rings)
Neil: Oh, excuse me one second. I've gotta take this call. Give me one minute. Hello?
Kay: Okay, fine.
Neil: Yes.
Kay: (Sighs)
Cane: Hey. Good morning, Sweetheart.
Kay: Oh, hi, Darling. Are you joining us?
Cane: No, no, I'm going to the office, but I wanted to see you first and make sure you're doing okay. Are you all right?
Kay: Oh, well, I'm sick about this, but I have no one to blame but myself.
Cane: Hey, you don't do that. You don't blame yourself, all right? McCall took you in. He took us all in. I'll tell you this one thing-- I will get him for you, okay?
Kay: (Chuckles) No, its divine retribution. It's God's punishment for having abandoned him when he was an infant.
Cane: Listen, the only one punishing you is McCall, all right? You don't deserve this. Don't forget that, okay?
Kay: (Sighs)
Neil: Okay, so listen, uh, McCall has arranged for a meeting with all the department heads at Chancellor today.
Kay: Well, whatever strategy Victor and Jack have been plotting, believe me, this Tucker McCall is two steps ahead of them.
Jill: (Sighs) You have a lovely view of the Chancellor building.
Tucker: Well, I have a good view of a lot of the downtown buildings. Chancellor just happens to be one of them.
Jill: Mm-hmm.
Tucker: Mm-hmm.
Jill: (Sighs)
Tucker: What's the matter? You seem a little down.
Jill: Katherine didn't even give me a chance, you know? She just assumed that I was betraying her.
Tucker: (Sighs) How she could know you all these years and not see the truth...
Jill: Well, I'm sure Nikki was whispering in her ear.
Tucker: You deserve better. You know that. You know, if it makes you feel any better, Katherine's not a happy woman these days.
Jill: I know. Well, we should get to the meeting, huh? We don't want to be late for it.
Tucker: Well, they can't start without the boss.
Jill: You've got us all very curious, me especially.
Tucker: It's always like that when you acquire a new company. There's a whole lot of nervous Nellie’s.
Jill: You don't have any more surprises for me, do you?
Tucker: Nothing for you to worry about, Darlin'.
Lauren: Hey.
Michael: Oh, you're home.
Lauren: Yeah, I've been waiting for you.
Michael: Oh.
Lauren: Did you get any sleep?
Michael: I passed out at the desk for a couple of hours. You know, a cup of coffee, a shower, clean clothes, I'll be a new man.
Lauren: Look, I need to talk to you.
Michael: You know, can it wait?
Lauren: No. No, it's really important.
Michael: You know what? All--all this needs to be dry-cleaned. You know, I-I know I haven't been available the last few days. I'm telling you, that's all gonna end in a couple of days. (Stammers)
Daisy: Wha--oh, whoops. I--sorry, I-- I didn't realize, uh--
Michael: What are you doing here in--in your pajamas?
Victor: And kindly don't let anyone try to reach me, all right? Unless it's urgent, okay? Thank you. What are you doing here?
Adam: Delivering a thank-you gift to Dana, the intern assigned to me by Victoria.
Victor: I understand Tucker McCall hired you.
Adam: Well, news travels fast, don't it?
Victor: Watch your ass, Son.
Jack: Tell Katherine not to worry.
Ashley: Oh, God, you're kidding me.
Jack: Thanks, Neil.
Ashley: (Sighs) That's unbelievable.
Sharon: There's coffee.
Jack: None for me, thanks.
Ashley: Okay, no problem. Okay, thanks. That was Dante.
Jack: From the lab?
Ashley: Yeah, everybody's scared. They're freaking out.
Jack: Oh, just great.
Faith: (Cries)
Ashley: Oh, Honey, what's the matter, huh? You've been fussing since 5:30 this morning, my sugar baby. What are you doing? Huh? What's the matter, Sweetie?
(Cell phone rings)
Sharon: Hey, you, uh...
Jack: Jack Abbott.
Sharon: You want me to take her out for a few hours today? It's a beautiful day out.
Ashley: Um, well, I don't want to trouble you. It's okay.
Sharon: No, are you kidding? I love spending time with her.
Ashley: Okay. Okay, I mean, you're really good with her.
Sharon: Come here, Sweetie. Here we go.
Ashley: Here you go. Bye, Sweetie.
Sharon: All right, we'll just go out for a few hours.
Ashley: Okay.
Sharon: We're gonna have fun.
Kevin: Um, Tucker McCall wants to see all the department heads in his office today.
Jana: Are you in on that meeting?
Kevin: Yeah, for the I.T. department. What if he fires me?
Jana: Shh! He won't.
Kevin: Well, why else would he want me there?
Jana: Because, my love, you are fantastic at your job.
Kevin: Yeah, but I know the way this thing works, you know? A new regime comes in, the old regime gets sacked.
Jana: Look, you don't start from nothing and become as successful as Tucker McCall without making smart choices, and I think you should be recognized for your own work merit.
Kevin: Well, what if I don't want to stay?
Jana: You love this job.
Kevin: Yeah, but after everything Mrs. C. has done for me, I can't betray her. I mean, she gave me a chance when nobody else would. She believed that I had potential to be-- kind of like I tried to do with Ryder. We all know how that worked out.
Jana: You gave your brother more chances than he deserved.
Kevin: I wonder what he's up to? I've only seen him once in the last few weeks.
Jana: Well, do you know where he's staying?
Kevin: No, but I hope he's found a new job by now.
Jana: Maybe he left town.
Kevin: Yeah, I may never see him again.
Michael: You, uh, should have asked me before offering my sister's room to a relative stranger.
Lauren: (Sighs) Daisy is no stranger. She's a very sweet kid, and she's been a great help to me at the store.
Michael: Are we adopting all of Fenmore's employees? First, it was Amber. Now it's Daisy. Are we running the Baldwin home for wayward girls?
Lauren: You know something? I took in your sister, no questions asked.
Michael: My sister is family. There's no comparison. Daisy is nothing.
Lauren: What-- (Gasps) Daisy! Daisy?
(Front door slams)
Lauren: I can't believe you.
Michael: I'm sorry.
Lauren: You hurt her feelings.
Michael: She'll get over it.
Lauren: What's gotten into you?
Michael: I don't want someone I barely know living in my home. Why can't she stay at the dorm?
Lauren: Because she's miserable there. (Sighs) We're--we're her only friends in this town.
Michael: That is not your problem. Eden's gonna be home in a few months. What then?
Lauren: I don't think she should come home. You'd better take a look at this.
Michael: And what is that?
Lauren: That is a scrapbook that Eden has been keeping of my past with Sheila. And if you look in the back-- look at this. There's a receipt from a pet store dated the night of Daniel and Amber's wedding. You know, the night of the rat incident?
Michael: I know what night that was. Well, you know what? I really can't get into this right now. I will look at this binder when I get home from work. We will call Eden in France.
Lauren: Your sister is trying to scare me, and if that doesn't take priority--
Michael: All right, you know what? You cannot just jump to conclusions. Now I promise you, you will have my full attention when I get back from--
Lauren: (Sighs)
Ryder: Hey, Daze.
Daisy: Ryder, are you still at the boutique?
Ryder: Yeah, I'm taking off now.
Daisy: I need you to leave something behind.
Cane: Okay, so that was Jill calling. Tucker wants me to sit in on the Chancellor meeting.
Kay: Oh, Dear, I wish we'd had more time to plan before he made his official move.
Cane: Well, maybe it's just a, you know, "Get to know you" meeting.
Kay: Ah. You know, I have known some cutthroat businessmen in my day, but to learn that Jill was sleeping-- I mean, this is the woman that I came to love like a daughter, and--and she was plotting all the time, in bed with Tucker, the-- you didn't know?
Cane: I asked her. I looked her straight in the eye. I said, "Are you sleeping with this man?" She said, "No," and now you're standing here and you're telling me that she's sleeping with him?
Kay: Well, I assumed that she had told you. Well, apparently, she knew how you would react. But, um, it does explain a lot, doesn't it?
Cane: Yeah, it does. It explains a lot.
Ashley: (Sighs) Good luck with Victor.
Jack: Yeah, let's see how long this unholy alliance lasts.
Ashley: Just promise me that you won't fire the first shot, okay?
Jack: I will be a good boy.
Ashley: Okay.
Jack: Katherine's more important than any venom I'm storing up for Victor. I'll see you.
Ashley: That's true. Bye.
Adam: Oh.
Jack: You're in my way.
Adam: Mm.
Ashley: Jack.
Adam: There's a man on a mission.
Ashley: Oh, you know, this whole Tucker McCall situation has everybody on edge.
Adam: You know what this means for Jabot?
Ashley: No, not yet.
Adam: Well, who knows? Maybe this could end up being something good.
Ashley: Yeah, we'll see.
Adam: Well, listen, uh... (Exhales) As long as we have a minute, I should let you know I made a pretty important decision today, one that will definitely affect you and Sharon.
Sharon: You just love that pacifier, don't you? (Chuckles) Yeah. My little boy Noah was the same way. He loved to have his pacifier when he was your age. (Sighs) Ashley's the luckiest mommy in the world to have you.
Jana: Don't worry about Ryder. He can take care of himself.
Kevin: Well, what if he's disappeared?
Jana: Eh, you'll hear from him again.
Kevin: I just hope he's pulling his stuff together.
Jana: Almost got it. Voilà.
Kevin: (Chuckles)
Jana: Gorgeous. Okay, now... you need to focus on this meeting. Whether you decide to stand by Mrs. Chancellor or make a go of it with your new boss, either way, this is our future.
Kevin: Mm-hmm.
Jana: Okay?
Kevin: What do you think I should do?
Jana: I think that if you really want the job, and you do want to stay, go for it.
Kevin: I love you.
Jana: I love you, too. Feeling's mutual, Darling.
Kevin: (Chuckles)
Jana: Now go impress the hell out of Tucker.
Kevin: I'm gonna do it.
Jana: All right. Hey, remember, focus on the job, not on Ryder.
Kay: Thank you for coming.
Michael: Neil.
Neil: Hello, Michael.
Victor: We will see this through, you know.
Kay: Thank you.
Michael: Did you get my e-mail?
Neil: Your e-mail? Um, unfortunately, I haven't had the time to go through it point by point. But--
Victor: Hello, Neil.
Neil: Victor.
Kay: Oh, there's Jack.
Victor: Uh, Michael. Michael.
Michael: Hmm?
Jack: Holding up?
Kay: I'm okay.
Victor: Did you think some more about the divorce settlement?
Michael: I was gonna call you later about this. There is nothing legally stopping you from moving back into the ranch. Ashley will be forced to live with you or move out.
Jack: Victor.
Victor: Hello, Jack.
Jack: Lovely day to try to block a hostile takeover, don't you think?
Victor: Hell of a day.
(Cell phone rings)
Jack: Oh, excuse me.
Victor: Yep.
Jack: Hey, Billy, what's up? Who told you that? Yeah, that's very interesting. Okay, uh, thanks for the update.
Kay: Uh, everything okay?
Jack: Nothing for you to be concerned about.
Kay: Jack, listen, if this alliance of yours with Victor is uncomfortable--
Jack: For you, Katherine, I would cooperate with the devil himself temporarily.
Kay: (Chuckles)
Jack: Look, I am going to fight to the bitter end to save my father's legacy. You know how the Abbott family feels about Jabot. It was part of Colleen's heritage, as well. Now that Jabot is technically owned by Tucker, yes, I am willing to put my differences with Mr. Newman aside.
Kay: No matter how many times you told me what it felt like to have Jabot sold to Chancellor, I can honestly say I, for the first time, know how you felt.
Victor: By the way, uh, Tucker has called for a meeting of all the department heads.
Kay: Uh, well, listen, uh, I-I--whatever they have planned, all I can say is we have to work fast.
Jack: Well, I'm ready. Victor?
Victor: Let's get started.
Kay: (Chuckles)
Jill: I sure would like to have some idea what's on the agenda. I'd hate to be blindsided in front of everybody.
Tucker: Well, Darlin', it's not smart for me to tip my hand too early. Hey. Promise you won't get hurt?
Jill: (Chuckles) Any more than I already have been?
(Knock on door)
Tucker: Morning.
Cane: So why didn't you tell me you were sleeping with him?
Adam: Yeah, yesterday was a disaster. Nick was sniping at me. Victor was all over my case. I couldn't take it anymore, so I-I quit Newman Enterprises.
Ashley: You know what? I really wanted you to work things out with your family, Adam. But I think this is the right move for you. You're gonna do terrific things on your own, and once Victor gets over his initial anger, believe me, he's gonna end up respecting you for this.
Adam: Okay, why don't we just hold off on patting me on the back quite yet? Uh, I took a job with Tucker McCall.
Sharon: Hi.
Adam: Uh, um, what--what were you doing out with the baby?
Sharon: Shh. She's sleeping.
Ashley: (Quietly) Oh, just put her down.
Sharon: Okay, thanks. I'll put her in the bassinet.
Ashley: Uh, Sharon offered to take the baby so Jack and I could just, uh, discuss things. Adam.
Adam: (Quietly) Hey, uh, I'm sorry. I-I just get paranoid, with the flu and everything, of Faith getting sick, so...
Sharon: (Quietly) Well, I'm very careful.
Adam: No, no, I know. I know you are.
Sharon: So how did it go with Jack?
Ashley: (Normal voice) Um, we'll see. Adam just told me about his new job.
Sharon: (Normal voice) Well, I-I didn't mean to be deceptive this morning, Ashley. Um, I just thought that it would be best if Adam told you about the job himself, and that's why I left. I didn't want to be standing around while you were talking about business.
Ashley: So out with it. What are Tucker's plans for Jabot, Adam? Hmm?
Adam: Uh, well, I really don't know. We didn't talk about anything. Just did the deal last night.
Ashley: Uh-huh. He didn't tell you anything?
Adam: You know all that I know.
Ashley: (Clicks tongue) Mm-hmm.
Tucker: I'll make some calls.
(Door closes)
Jill: (Sighs) Boy, Katherine just couldn't wait to tell you that she walked in on us.
Cane: She assumed that you would've told me about Tucker.
Jill: Well, I would have told you, but Katherine found out first, okay? And then she assumed the worst. She didn't give me a chance to explain.
Cane: All right, why don't you, uh, explain it to me then?
Jill: I met Tucker in New York before he bought into the Chancellor I.P.O., okay? I thought he was a Bart-- it doesn't matter. I didn't know who he was, okay?
Cane: So why didn't you say something when you found out?
Jill: Because it was nothing. I didn't want to muddy the waters, all right? I thought I could keep my private life and my business life separate. I know. I know. It was a bad call. Honey, I promise you, I did not know he was Katherine's son, and I did not know about the takeover until after it happened. Plus, he knows how I feel about his tactics.
Cane: (Whispering) Then why are you still with him?
Jill: (Sighs) Could you please separate the fact that he's Katherine's son from the fact that he's one of the world's most brilliant entrepreneurs? And he wants to take Chancellor Industries to new heights and me with it. Now wouldn't I be a fool to walk away from that?
Cane: (Normal voice) There's one thing I want to know-- is this a business decision, or are you in love with the man?
Michael: A man this successful must have a few skeletons around.
Victor: By the way, so everyone is not surprised, Jack and I are working together on this one, all right?
Jack: Buying up some of McCall's smaller holdings as a distraction.
Kay: (Chuckles) Well, are you both, uh, comfortable with that?
Jack: As long as we're both open and honest with each other, I don't see that it'll be a problem.
Victor: I second that.
Neil: Uh, we will know more after today's meeting with Tucker, so...
Kay: Oh, but, um, do know that I'm very, very grateful for what all of you are doing. But remember this-- it's not a business takeover, 'cause Tucker McCall wants revenge against me.
Michael: Which may prove to be his Achilles' heel.
Kay: I can't make up for the pain that I have caused him, but let me tell you something-- all I can do is pray that he treats the Chancellor legacy with some respect.
Victor: I never have known you to let guilt make you soft. You're a fighter, Katherine. You've always fought. And we'll fight this. I
Lauren: (Winces) Oh. (Sighs) Oh, Dear. (Gasps)
Daisy: Are you okay?
Lauren: (Sighs) Oh, Daisy, I'm sorry. It's just this damn headache. I-I can't get rid of it. I mean, no matter what I take. (Sighs) By the way, um, I found this in the back room. Do you know anything about this?
Daisy: Me. I-I forgot I left it there the other night.
Lauren: Oh, my God, how long have you been staying there?
Daisy: (Sighs) A while. I-it felt so good to sleep in a real bed again last night.
Lauren: I know you're lonely in the dorms, but, um, you know, its Walnut Grove. I-it can't be that terrible.
Daisy: Well, uh, the kids have been making fun of me for--for being poor. The boys say I'm only good for one thing.
Lauren: I am calling that school right now.
Daisy: No, no, no, no. Please. Please don't do that. If--if you call, they'll hate me even more, and, oh, God, they already treat me as--horribly as it is.
Lauren: Oh, Honey. I'm so sorry. Look, I-I don't care what Michael says. You--you're gonna stay with us, all right? (Sighs) Oh, my-- sorry. Okay?
Michael: Katherine, forgive me if I'm overstepping, but I see no reason for you to feel guilty. Times were different then. You were a woman with a small son. For you to give up a child that you bore out of wedlock was the only tenable solution. He was adopted by a decent home. Not every child is that fortunate.
Victor: Katherine, what is important for you to know-- and all of us feel the same-- when Tucker declared war on Chancellor Industries, he declared war on all of us.
Neil: Well, this really could get down and dirty.
Victor: That's no problem for me. And I have a feeling it ain't for Jack, either.
Jack: Katherine, if you have to take the high road here, by all means, do it. The rest of us will do everything in our power to beat Tucker McCall at his own game.
Kay: God, I'm so grateful for your support. All right, high road be damned. If Tucker wants a fight, well, he'll get one. (Chuckles)
Jill: Who said anything about love?
Cane: Oh, please. The way you looked at him when he left the room, the way you let him touch you...
Jill: Don't be ridiculous. My courtship days are over. This is business.
Cane: Yeah? 'Cause I don't think you can separate the two.
Jill: Well, Cane, I've been doing that all of my life with John Abbott, with Katherine. I'll tell you the truth-- as the woman who used to believe she was Katherine's daughter, this whole thing has me devastated.
Cane: Yeah?
Jill: But as a businesswoman, my gut is telling me this is incredible for the two of us.
Cane: Yeah, I hope so, 'cause I don't want to see you get hurt again.
Tucker: Time to go. Really, really.
Jill: Okay. Thanks.
Tucker: Will I see you there?
Cane: Hey, uh, Tucker, could we be blunt with each other?
Tucker: Sure.
Cane: Yeah? All right. I don't particularly like the way you do business, but I believe in Jill, and I trust her business sense, so, uh, I think we can work together.
Tucker: You know, if I were you, I wouldn't trust me, either. But that's okay. I'll change your mind. Let's go.
Jill: Okay.
(Cell phone rings)
Cane: Oh, excuse me. I gotta take this. I-I'll catch up with you, all right?
(Ring)
Cane: Katherine, hey. Yep, it went exactly as you said it would. I'm in.
Adam: You don't think I should work for Tucker, do you?
Ashley: Uh, Jabot is still my family's company, Adam. I care what happens to it.
Adam: Well, look, I mean, there's only three players of consequence in this town. It's Chancellor, Jabot and Newman. I quit Newman. Jack hates my guts. That leaves Tucker. I mean, it's either that, or I uproot my wife and stepson, and we move to New York. I'm not doing that to them.
Ashley: Well, we don't know what Tucker's plans are for Jabot, yet, right? So... but he must know that you and I are close. Does he?
Adam: Ashley?
Ashley: Uh-huh?
Adam: Will you trust me on this one?
Faith: (Cries)
Ashley: Uh, we'll talk later, 'cause now I have to feed my child. Excuse me. Sweetie, do you need your bottle? Come here, Honey. Oh. Oh. Excuse me.
Sharon: Just give Ashley time, okay? Tucker controls her family's company, and now you work for him.
Adam: We could always move out of here, you know?
Sharon: Absolutely not.
Michael: I thought that meeting went very well this morning.
Victor: Does that surprise you?
Michael: You and Jack working together?
Victor: Mm. I gather you have similar feelings about Jack.
Michael: (Chuckles) After what he's done to my family? I'm doing this for Katherine.
Victor: Yeah, we all are. Uh, Michael, I've thought about the ranch. I do not want to move back in against Ashley's wishes.
Michael: You have every right to. It's your home. You never signed the documents transferring the property.
Victor: It would make it very uncomfortable for Nikki. The ranch means everything to me, but I want to move back in when it's mine, not when Ashley still has it.
Jack: Are we still talking about Tucker?
Michael: Ah, well, we'll finish this later. Excuse me. I have phone calls to return.
Victor: Thank you, Michael. So, Jack, I assume you're here to discuss which of Tucker McCall's divisions we should go after first.
Jack: One question before we do that-- why didn't you tell everyone at that meeting that your son is working for Tucker McCall?
Adam: Look, things just could get tense between Ash and me on account of this whole Jabot situation. I mean, why would you want to live with that?
Sharon: I can't explain it, but something about this house just feels like home to me.
Adam: But, listen, it's not home. I mean, it's just a temporary living situation, Sharon.
Sharon: Why are you constantly pushing to try to get us out of this house? You were fine living here with Ashley before we got married. Seems like you almost want to get me out of the house, Adam.
Jana: (Clears throat) Um, excuse me, Sir, but I'm gonna have to ask you to lea--
Neil: Okay, absolutely.
Kevin: Hey, any idea why Tucker called us together?
Neil: Nothing concrete, Kevin.
Cane: Yeah, but you were right about Jill.
Kay: I am not about to let Tucker and that female "Benedict Arnold" bulldoze over us. I'm not about to.
Kevin: Whoa, whoa. What did Jill do?
Kay: She's in bed with Tucker.
Neil: (Whispers) Uh, speak of the devil. (Clears throat)
Kevin: I thought you and she had, um... hold on a second. Hi, Jill.
Jill: Hi, Kevin.
Kevin: Do you know why Tucker called this meeting?
Jill: Well, if I did, I wouldn't tell you.
Kay: No, she wouldn't, Dear, but trade a man she's known for five minutes over her family...
Jill: Look who's pointing fingers.
Tucker: Welcome, everyone. Thank you all for coming on such short notice. Looks like we're all here. Let's get started. Welcome to my first official executive meeting as primary stockholder and C.E.O. of Chancellor Industries. Now we're all busy. I won't take a lot of your time. Just a few odds and ends to go over. First up on the agenda, you're all fired.
Ryder: Don't tell Kevin.
Jana: Why are you eating out of rubbish bins?
Ryder: Just don't tell him. Please. I don't want him to worry.
Jana: So that's it? You're just gonna-- just gonna walk away? I mean, you might want to, um, consider perhaps giving Kevin a phone call or something. (Sighs) Ryder, just because things didn't work out, it doesn't mean that he doesn't care about you.
Ryder: I-I've caused nothing but problems for you and your family. I think it's best if I just stay away.
Lauren: (Sighs)
Daisy: Thanks for all this stuff.
Lauren: Oh, sure.
Daisy: Did you smell the shampoo?
Lauren: No. (Inhales) Mm, it's nice, yeah.
Daisy: You can borrow it if you want.
Lauren: (Chuckles) You're so sweet. Here, look, I, uh, got you a key. Why don't you put that on your keychain, all right?
Daisy: Oh, cool. Thank you. How's your headache?
Lauren: Well, it kind of feels like there's an S.U.V. going in one ear and out the other.
Michael: Hi. Why is she still here?
Lauren: I asked her to stay. She's, um, she's going through hell. The boys in the dorm are harassing her.
Michael: Lauren, you can't say--
Lauren: She's been staying in the back of my store.
Michael: Be that as it may--
Lauren: No, Michael. She's staying. Get used to it.
Michael: All right, what-- what--what did I do?
Lauren: (Sighs) Do you really think that I just have the time to sit here and wait for you to show up? I tried to talk to you about Daisy. I tried to show you Eden's binder, but it seems that you are just a little bit more concerned about your clients than your own wife.
Michael: No, you know how important this is to Katherine.
Lauren: It's always someone else. Well, what about me? When does your wife get to come first?
Michael: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Where is this coming from?
Lauren: Your sister has been terrorizing me, and you don't give a damn!
Michael: Come on, no. You do not honestly believe that about Eden!
Lauren: Oh, my God. Oh, my God, are you taking her side over mine? Oh, my--
Michael: Oh, no, no. I-I do not want to fight! I do not want to fight. Let's just talk about this.
Lauren: I'm going to the-- I'm going to the store.
Michael: Lauren. Lauren!
Lauren: No!
Adam: Have patience with me, Babe, okay? I'm--I'm new to this marriage thing, and I just wanted to be sensitive to your feelings. I thought that you might be uncomfortable living here.
Sharon: I'm not.
Adam: Okay. Uh, you know that thing you told me about, um, running into my dad? Crossing him? You mentioned it last night. Well, it happened, and, uh, he now knows that I'm working for Tucker, so I don't--I don't know if it would be a good idea to be under this roof. It might be asking for trouble.
Sharon: Well, Victor doesn't live here anymore, so I don't see any reason why we should move out.
Ashley: Uh, I left one of Faith's bibs. Anybody see it?
Sharon: Oh, yeah, it's right here.
Ashley: Oh, great. Thank you. Hi, Sweetie pie.
Sharon: (Chuckles) You ready for your bottle? Hey, can I feed her?
Ashley: Um, uh, sure.
Sharon: Okay.
Ashley: Sure. There you go.
Sharon: You want your bottle?
Ashley: Go to Sharon?
Sharon: Come on. I'll give you your bottle. Here we go.
Ashley: (Chuckles) Here you go.
Sharon: Oh, bib.
Ashley: Um, did I hear what I thought I heard? Hello? You're gonna move out?
Adam: Um, I, um, um, under the circumstances, you know--
Ashley: I'd like you to stay.
Adam: You sure about that?
Ashley: Yeah. You know, I like having you around.
Adam: Even though I'm working for Tucker?
Ashley: You know, um, I always thought you should get away from Newman and strike out on your own, and I think that if we find ourselves on opposite sides, if we're straight with each other, I'd like to think we'd be fine.
Victor: So where'd you hear about Adam working for Tucker?
Jack: Billy. One of his sources said that Adam quit Newman Enterprises-- is now working for Tucker McCall, unlimited.
Victor: Who's the source?
Jack: He wouldn't say. Are you denying it?
Victor: It's true.
Jack: Why didn't you tell everyone at the meeting?
Victor: Because it's irrelevant.
Jack: Irrelevant? This pits you against your son.
Victor: Too bad for my son.
Jack: Look, if you and I are going to buy up Tucker's smaller holdings, we'd better talk about Adam.
Victor: I have not forgotten that you were part of creating that diary that damned me and that put Adam in prison. When I'm finished dealing with Katherine's situation, I'll deal with you personally.
Jack: Now there's the Victor Newman we all know and love. I wondered how long it would take for you to show your true colors.
Kay: Repeat that.
Tucker: I said you're all fired.
Tucker: (Laughs) That's, a-- I'm kidding. (Laughs) I'm just kidding. It's a joke, people. Relax. Your jobs are safe. I'm not making any changes to Chancellor Industries-- not right away. You've all proven yourselves to be valuable employees. However, there are a few companies under the Chancellor umbrella that have been underperforming. I plan to sell them off, cut the dead weight, starting with Jabot Cosmetics.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Ryder: You're underage. What are you doing?
Abby: We can have fun.
Ashley: With Tucker selling Jabot, we have no choice. We have to get Dad's company back.
Tucker: I'm going to dismantle what you took a lifetime to build.
