Episode # 9319 ~ Victor Summons His Family

Provided By Eric

Victor: There. That was a good walk, just like we took in Brussels. Could you open that for me?

Nikki: Yeah, I got it.

Victor: Thank you.

Nikki: He seems a little restless since we got home.

Victor: Yeah, well, dogs are very sensitive creatures, and they know when there's tension in the air.

Nikki: Yeah.

Victor: They feel it. Don't they, my sweetheart? Don't they? Yes.

Nikki: Well, we certainly had that from the minute we got off the plane.

Victor: Yes, yes. Come here. Do you want to go to mommy? Do you want to go to mommy?

Nikki: Yes, it seems like our whole life is off-kilter.

Victor: I can't believe that Katherine lost control of Industries.

Nikki: You know, I didn't trust that Tucker McCall from the minute I met him at Christmas.

Victor: Yeah. Well, the good thing is whatever's broken can be fixed.

Nikki: Including Nicholas and Adam?

Victor: Well, Sweetheart, they are-- they're just trying to get their father's approval, that's all. When I was their age, I was trying to prove myself to the world.

Nikki: Well, let's hope they don't kill each other in the process.

Victor: They just have to be reminded that they're both my sons, and the fight will be over. Sweet baby, yes.

Nikki: King Solomon, and a king should be in his castle.

Victor: You bet, and he will be. I'm gonna take back that ranch.

Nikki: What about Ashley?

Victor: She'll be well taken care of.

Nikki: And Sharon and Adam? They live there, too.

Victor: Yeah. They pose some interesting questions, don't they? The least of which is where they reside.

Nikki: Yes, that marriage is definitely full of unpleasant possibilities.

Victor: Mm-hmm, some of which have crossed my mind.

Nikki: You know, I thought almost losing you would bring our family closer together, but it seems like we're further apart than ever.

Victor: Come here.

Victor: Let me remedy that right now. Come here. You go to mommy. There we go. You go to mommy.

Nikki: Come here, my baby.

Victor: There we go.

Nikki: That's my baby.

Victor: There we go.

Nikki: (Kissing Segundo)

Victor: There we go. You're just adorable.

Nikki: Yes, I love you. Yes. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, yes, yes.

Victor: Hi, this is Victor Newman. Would you kindly reserve your largest table for us tonight for dinner? Well, "For us" meaning the entire family will come.

Phyllis: You know, if, um, I had a new house, with a nice big kitchen, I could make you dinner every single night. You know that? In a French maid's outfit-- that's what I'd do.

Nick: You trying to bribe me?

Phyllis: No. Oh, God, no. I'm just trying to convince you that, um, we need a place of our own away from the ranch.

Nick: (Sighs) It's like déja vu.

Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah, 'cause we already talked about it.

Nick: And resolved it.

Phyllis: Oh, we--no. No. You resolved it, not me.

Nick: Oh, okay.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Nick: I need to be here right now so I can look after the place.

Phyllis: Yeah, well, you know, Adam is not gonna wrap it up and drive off with it.

Nick: I wouldn't put anything past him.

Phyllis: Oh, Nick, you know, your dad is here for one day, and you're in this Newman vortex, aren't you?

Nick: Okay, I don't want you to hurt this.

Phyllis: (Laughs)

Nick: And I can't stop being a Newman.

Phyllis: I don't want you to stop being a Newman. We just need a place of our own-- you, me, Summer, away from the family. We need that.

Nick: You and Summer will always be my priority. But the rest of my family is always gonna be a part of my life.

(Front door opens)

Noah: (Sighs)

Sharon: Hey. Um, I got you all kinds of fun things from Fenmore's. Lauren sent us the gift certificates.

Noah: You should have told her not to do that. That fire was an accident. I-I'm tired of everybody blaming Eden.

Sharon: She was just trying to do something nice.

Noah: (Sighs)

Sharon: You okay?

Noah: Not really.

Abby: Eden's going to visit some aunt in France, and Noah here's a little bummed.

Sharon: Oh, I'm sorry.

Noah: I told her to go and have a great time. I thought that's what she wanted to hear. Now she's mad at me. Girls are--are so hard to figure out sometimes.

Abby: I don't even get why you would want to figure out Eden. She's a total loser. Well, when you're ready, I know, like, ten girls who are way better for you than her.

Noah: She doesn't get it.

Adam: I do. Maybe I can help.

Emily: (Sighs)

Jack: For you.

Emily: Oh, thank you. Okay, butter cream or whipped cream?

Jack: Ooh, I'm a whipped cream kind of guy.

Emily: (Chuckles) I'm talking about the cake. (Laughs)

Jack: Well, it's so hard when you smell so good.

Emily: Okay, let's just focus.

Jack: Okay, focus, focus, focus.

Emily: Yes, yes, yes.

Jack: What was the question?

(Cell phone beeps)

Emily: Uh, oh, wait. Hold on. Do not go away, literally or figuratively.

Jack: Problem?

Emily: Uh, Dr. Jasper has taken over Patty's case.

Jack: How does he think she's doing? Doctor/patient confidentiality.

Emily: I-I can tell you that he's been seeing more of her, and I've been seeing less, and that was going well.

Jack: Until this?

Emily: All right, let me find out, okay?

Patty: You can do this, Patty. You don't need those pills. (Sighs) Okay. (Wails) Jus--just one. Just--just one. Just one. You know, it'll get me over the hump, okay? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't do this, Patty. Don't do it. Okay, you gotta keep a clear head. Clear your head, okay. (Sobs) You're gonna be just fine. You are. You're gonna be just fine, okay? Just put that-- put it back. Okay, that's a good girl. That's a good girl.

Paul: Thank you so much. Hey, there, Sis.

Patty: (Chuckles)

Emily: Okay, thanks. (Clears throat) Well, everything's fine.

Jack: Great.

Emily: All right, let's get back to this cake. So I like this one. It's simple, elegant, and instead of yellow flowers, we could do pink or red for Valentine's.

Jack: Yeah, yellow sounds great.

Emily: I said I didn't want yellow.

Jack: I-I'm sorry. Uh, uh, red, pink, wha-whatever you like.

Emily: It doesn't matter. Where did you go in the five minutes I made my phone call?

Jack: I was in voice mail hell. I think I've left ten messages for Katherine today alone.

Emily: Let's just put this all on hold, okay? You need to focus on your work.

Jack: No, no, no. No, no, no, no. We're gonna finish this to-do list for Chloe, or we're not gonna be ready on time.

Emily: Jack, we can postpone this.

Jack: I am not letting Tucker McCall ruin our wedding.

Emily: But that's why we shouldn't get married until you have everything at Jabot settled.

Jack: (Sighs)

Adam: Lisa Griffey-- total babe, cheerleader, captain of the dance squad. We were inseparable from ninth grade to our junior year. (Sighs)

Noah: What happened?

Adam: Well, her dad got a job transfer to Denver, and that was it. Life was over for me. If I couldn't be around her, I didn't--I didn't care about anything.

Noah: That's exactly how I feel.

Adam: Yeah, we swore we'd never be apart. When I turned 18-- the day I turned 18, I was gonna move right out there.

Noah: Did you?

Adam: Well, she-- she met someone. I met a girl, and, well, we--we moved on. Eventually, we forgot about each other.

Noah: Mnh-mnh. That's not gonna happen to Eden and me.

Adam: You think maybe Eden's the one, huh?

Noah: She is.

Adam: Well, if she is, then when she comes back, you guys will be stronger than ever before. You know, and if she isn't, you know, you'll make it through. You'll see.

Noah: Look, Eden and I, we're--we're solid. We're in love. But it helps to know you get what I'm going through.

Adam: Well, I'm here if you want to talk anytime.

Noah: I got homework.

Sharon: I like how you're getting the hang of this stepfather thing. Um, I only have one question.

Adam: Mm-hmm. Yes?

Sharon: Who is this Lisa what's-her-name? (Chuckles)

J.T.: So I'm assuming this is about me and Mr. McCall.

Nikki: Oh, actually, no. But now that you've brought it up, I want you to know that I don't blame you at all for what he did to Katherine.

J.T.: Appreciate your faith in me. And for the record, I don't approve of his methods.

Nikki: I'm glad to hear that-- not surprised, just glad.

J.T.: So what's this about?

Nikki: Well, dinner-- the whole family. Victor would like to have a dinner with all of us tonight. Now I know that you and Victoria are having a tough time, but you're still family. We would really like you and Reed to join us.

J.T.: Have you talked to Victoria?

Nikki: J.T., remember when Victoria was in the hospital, and you never left her side, even though they told you there was no hope? You never gave up. Don't give up...

J.T.: (Sighs)

Nikki: Now. Victoria loves you. She wants this marriage to work. I know that she does.

J.T.: Thank you.

Nikki: So dinner tonight? The Athletic Club around 7:00.

J.T.: Yeah, well, uh, Victoria wants Reed to be close to her family, and so do I, so...

Nikki: This'll be good for all of us. Thank you. I'll see you then.

J.T.: Okay.

Phyllis: You know, I'm not asking you to, um, start any problems with your family.

Nick: Okay.

Phyllis: I just want you to put some, you know, separation between us and them.

Nick: I can't leave here right now, all right? I just can't let Adam have the run of the place.

Phyllis: Do you hear yourself? You're--you're trying to protect property. That's what you're doing. And I am trying to protect my family, not property.

Nick: Mm-hmm. We can do both.

Phyllis: No, we can't. (Sighs) I don't want to start a war with your father. I don't want to do that. That's not what I'm trying to do. But ever since we left "Restless Style" and started working at Newman, it's like there's no separation. I-I want a place where we can just, you know, be us again. You want that, don't you? You want to be us again, right? (Chuckles)

Nick: That's a very compelling argument.

Phyllis: (Laughs)

(Doorbell rings)

Phyllis: Hi, Victor.

Emily: All right, well, if you don't want to change the date, why don't we just scale it down, hmm? Family, friends-- oh, wait. No. You, me and city hall.

Jack: No way. A Valentine’s Day fairy-tale wedding is what the doctor ordered. That's what the doctor's gonna get.

Emily: Jack, I know how much Jabot means to you, so I--

Jack: Then obviously, you don't know how much you mean to me. I have been putting business first my entire life. I'm not gonna do that anymore.

Emily: I love being your top priority.

Jack: And if I ever forget, I want you to remind me.

Emily: Okay. Would you like me to text you or e-mail you?

Jack: Actually, I was thinking of something a little more personal than that.

Emily: How about, um, something like this?

Jack: Well, that's nice. Actually, I was thinking of something a little more like this.

Emily: Mm.

Paul: Oh.

Patty: (Groans) Dr. P. sometimes comes, but--but mostly its Dr. Jasper. (Groans)

Paul: Oh, how's that going?

Patty: I don't know. I guess its okay.

Paul: Yeah?

Patty: Yeah.

Paul: Do you miss Dr. P.? Whoops. War.

Patty: I-I just don't understand why she did that to me.

Paul: One, two, three, queen.

Patty: (Chuckles)

Paul: Jack-- you lose.

Patty: I always lose with Jack.

Paul: Oh, come on, Patty.

Patty: The night before our wedding, Jack slept with that slut Diane Jenkins.

Paul: It was a long time ago.

Patty: Jack is still sleeping with her, even when I'm pregnant.

Paul: Patty, come on. Here, look. Come on now.

Patty: But Jack doesn't care. Jack doesn't even want this baby.

Paul: Patty.

Patty: Jack just wants his daddy to make him president of Jabot. That's why he married me. Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack!

Paul: Patty! Patty! Patty. Patty. Patty. Patty!

Patty: (Sobs)

Paul: Come on. Look at me. Look at me. Just look at me.

Patty: Okay.

Paul: Look at me. Look at me.

Paul: You okay?

Patty: (Sighs) (Sniffles) (Sighs) Ooh, I'm fine, Pauly. (Laughs) Look at me. Why wouldn't I be? No, no, no. I'm fine. Hmm?

Victor: Hope I didn't interrupt anything.

Nick: No, that's cool.

Phyllis: Welcome home.

Victor: I came to ask a favor. Uh, Segundo, my dog, is rather restless at the club. Could he stay with you for a while until your mother and I move back?

Nick: Of course. So, uh, yeah. You and Mom are moving back to the ranch?

Victor: I haven't worked out the details yet, but I want to be close to my children and grandchildren.

Nick: Yeah.

Summer: Grandpa!

Victor: Talking about grandchildren--hi, Sweetheart. Hi, Sweetheart. Hi, Sweetheart. I have missed you so much.

Summer: I missed you, too.

Victor: You did? Look at you.

Summer: How's your heart?

Victor: My heart is better than ever-- strong, very strong. How's everything going with-- you've grown an inch, at least.

Summer: I'm in kindergarten.

Victor: You are? That's right. I know that. You know something? I found something for a girl in kindergarten. Do you want to see it? Yeah? Let's see here. I bought it for you in Belgium. There. Do you like that? Huh? Do you like that?

Summer: Mm-hmm.

Victor: That's so sweet. I'd like to ask the three of you to come and join us for dinner tonight at the club.

Phyllis: Oh, I-I don't think we can. I was--I was gonna fix something.

Summer: Please, Mommy?

Victor: I know we are rather far apart, but I don't think we'll get any closer unless one of us is willing to take a first step.

Phyllis: Yeah, um, sure. We'll come.

Victor: All right, I will see you tonight. Bye, Sweetheart. Bye.

Nick: See you tonight, Dad.

Nick: Thank you.

(Cell phone rings)

Adam: Mm, oh, hold on. Hold on. (Sighs) Who-- hello?

Victor: Hello, son.

Adam: Dad, hey.

Victor: Listen, I'd like you and Sharon to join me for dinner. 7:00 at the Athletic Club? Bring Noah and Abby.

Adam: Yes, Sir. We have been summoned to dinner by my father. Something's up.

Sharon: What could be up? It's a dinner invitation.

Adam: Mm, with my dad, anything.

(Cell phone rings)

Emily: Dr. Peterson.

Paul: Dr. Peterson, its Paul Williams. Listen, I am sorry to bother you, but I can't reach Dr. Jasper.

Emily: I-I'm covering for him. Is there a problem with Patty?

Paul: She's back to the way she was when she first got here. She's anxious, obsessing about Jack. I don't know. I-I'm worried about her.

Emily: O-okay, I-I'll-- I'll be right there. (Sighs)

Jack: Go ahead. You go. You go.

Emily: (Sighs) Okay.

Jack: I-I-I'll tell Chloe all of our choices. You gonna be home for dinner?

Emily: Thank you. Ye-ye--um, um, I'll call you if I'm not, okay?

Jack: Okay.

Emily: Thank you.

Jack: Hope everything goes well.

Emily: Yeah, me, too. All right.

Sharon: Wait. This can't be right.

Adam: Good, old dad. I knew he was up to something.

Sharon: Surprise.

Nick: Did you know about this?

Sharon: Um, Victor had invited us to join him and Nikki for dinner.

Phyllis: Oh, he made it sound like it was just us.

J.T.: Well, Victor probably thought you wouldn't show up if you knew it was a family reunion.

Adam: I can't imagine why he would think that.

Phyllis: Um, let's go. Do you want to go?

Nick: No chance.

Adam: Great, dinner and a show.

Sharon: Do you want to leave?

Victor: No one is going anywhere. It's been far too long since we've been together as a family. Let's act like one, okay?

Nikki: And I brought Belgian chocolates for the kids.

Adam: Ooh.

Nick: Not bad. Of course, we have other gifts, as well.

Victor: Hello, J.T. glad you quit your job with that lowlife McCall.

J.T.: Well, if you wanted accurate information about my life, you should have come straight to the source.

Victor: You're still working for that man?

J.T.: Yeah, I still work for McCall.

Victor: Hmm.

Nikki: I know how upset you were when he took control over Chancellor.

J.T.: Yeah, I was, but it was business.

Victor: But a good friend of ours got hurt in that transaction, you know.

J.T.: You went after Colleen in the name of business. Now look, M-McCall gave me a good opportunity. Hopefully, I can make the most of it and have a positive influence on the way he handles Chancellor.

Victor: And what kind of influence do you think you will have over McCall?

J.T.: I thought this was supposed to be a family dinner.

Victor: Have you talked to your wife about this?

J.T.: Victoria respects my decisions.

Victor: In other words, you haven't talked to her about it, have you? Why don't you forget about this McCall nonsense, okay? Come back to Newman. I'll find a job for you that's suitable.

J.T.: You don't have any idea what suits me, Victor. That's why I left Newman in the first place.

Victor: J.T., I know what you're capable of.

J.T.: Yeah, making my own decisions. I don't need your job or your approval.

Victor: And you think working for that lowlife McCall makes you your own man?

J.T.: Not working for you does. Hey, Reed, let's go, Buddy, okay? I'll get you a hamburger and fries. Come on.

Victor: Well, it is so nice to see all of us together. And to our family.

Emily: Hi. May I come in?

Paul: Ah, Dr. Peterson.

Emily: Hi.

Paul: Hi.

Emily: Hi, Patty.

Patty: Hi. (Chuckles) Why are you here?

Emily: Well, Paul called me.

Patty: I did a drawing. I-I made a pretty flower today.

Emily: Yeah. Like the ones in Minnesota?

Patty: No, like the ones here in my garden.

Emily: Who-whose garden?

Patty: Mine's and Jack.

Emily: Oh, you-- you and Jack have a garden?

Patty: The Abbott mansion has a beautiful garden and a swimming pool. That's where Jack and I live.

Emily: That's nice. Patty, would you mind drawing me a picture? I'm gonna be right back.

Patty: Okay.

Paul: Me, too.

Patty: Okay.

(Door closes)

Emily: (Sighs)

Paul: So wh-what happened?

Emily: I-I-it could be her meds.

Paul: She was doing so well.

Emily: I-I know, but sometimes, the medication works for a while, and then it needs to be adjusted. I'll just increase the dosage.

Paul: Okay, do you think she's going to be able to get back to where she was?

Emily: I-I really hope so. (Sighs)

Victor: Everything okay?

Sharon: Yes. I'm sorry to be on the phone. My mother keeps checking in more often than not.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: I guess a plane crash and a fire in one month has got her concerned.

Victor: Or is she worried about your sudden marriage to Adam?

Sharon: Well, that's a nice way of putting, "What are you thinking, Sharon?"

Victor: Why Adam?

Sharon: Are you concerned because he's Nick's brother?

Victor: Concerned because he is Adam.

Sharon: Well, I, um, I had always seen him through other people's eyes. And when I finally looked at him through my own, I saw a completely different person, someone who is loving and honest and generous, and I-- I just think he gets me instinctively. He knows exactly what I need and exactly what I don't.

Victor: (Sighs) You love him?

Sharon: He makes me really happy.

Victor: When he doesn't, you let me know, all right?

Sharon: This time, I'm gonna be your daughter-in-law forever.

Victor: Good luck.

Phyllis: No peanuts, right? (Chuckles) Good. (Clears throat)

Nikki: Don't worry. Victor called the kitchen three times.

Phyllis: (Chuckles) I just wanted to make sure.

Nikki: Yeah. I know coming here was not easy for you tonight.

Phyllis: I'm living with a constant reminder of what Victor did.

Nikki: We all are.

Phyllis: Mm.

Nikki: But he adores that child.

Phyllis: Yes, that is the irony, isn't it? She adores him.

Adam: You and Dad catching up?

Sharon: You could say that.

Adam: What else could you say?

Sharon: He wanted to know if I was happy.

Adam: So what'd you tell him?

Sharon: That I am.

Adam: But he isn't, right?

Sharon: Would you stop? I told you he wasn't gonna make a scene tonight, and he didn't. So I'm waiting.

Adam: Waiting for what?

Sharon: Those three words that some men find it so hard to say.

Adam: "I love you"?

Sharon: No, "You were right."

Adam: I love you.

Sharon: (Chuckles) Close enough.

(Cell phone rings)

Adam: Hold on a second. I gotta take this. Hello?

Noah: (Sighs) Why won't Eden answer any of my texts?

Abby: (Scoffs) I don't know. She's probably burning incense or doing yoga. But you know that really cute girl Josie who's in my algebra class? I have her number. I'm sure that she would love to date you.

Noah: I'm not interested in Josie or anybody except Eden.

Abby: I swear, she has, like, some kind of spell on you.

Noah: I'm gonna text her again.

Abby: Shocker.

Nick: Noah seems upset.

Sharon: Yeah, well, Eden, um, she's decided to go to Paris for a few months to spend time with her aunt, and Noah is just kicking himself, because he encouraged her to go.

Nick: Maybe I should talk to him.

Sharon: No, no, I wouldn't do that. Um, Adam already spoke to him, and I wouldn't want to overwhelm him, so I'll just let you know if things get worse.

Adam: Hey, did you hear from her?

Noah: Not yet. (Sighs)

Victor: There. Look at that. Come here. Well, thank you all for coming. It's so nice to be here, isn't it? While I was gone, I had a lot of time to think about what is important in life. This is important-- sitting here with my granddaughter with all of you. You mean everything to me. Family means everything to me. I want you all to know that. And, um, I know we will inevitably have our fights and arguments, and old resentments will come to the fore. I don't care. In the end, all that matters is family. And we are Newmans, and as Newmans, we stick together, okay?

Jack: Hear, hear! Welcome home, old boy.

(Cell phone rings)

Jack: Hello? Yeah.

Paul: Hi. Uh, scotch, neat.

Paul: Hey.

Nikki: Hey. No hug?

Paul: (Chuckles)

Nikki: Mm. We didn't really get to have a proper hello at Katherine's earlier.

Paul: No. Welcome home.

Nikki: Thanks. Are you okay?

Paul: Um, I just came from seeing my sister.

Nikki: How is she?

Paul: Let's not go there. How are you doing?

Nikki: Fine.

Paul: It's good to have you back.

Nikki: Thank you. Well, um, I guess I'd better get back.

Paul: (Sighs)

Phyllis: Adam, I saw, uh, an article about Dr. Taylor online. He was quite an accomplished doctor.

Adam: Yeah. You should forward me the article.

Phyllis: I absolutely will. I will. It was really great to read. I mean, he was a professor at Harvard, and he had some articles published in medical journals, and he came all the way down here to give Ashley a checkup. It's pretty incredible, right?

Adam: Yeah, he was a very dedicated doctor.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Sharon: Let's go.

Phyllis: I can't get that accident out of my mind. I honestly can't. I mean, I walk up. There you are arguing with him. He runs into the street. Bang! Dead.

Sharon: You ready?

Phyllis: I honestly will never forget it. Have a good night.

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: Let's go. Don't let her bother you. Let's go.

Nikki: (Sighs) Bye, Honey. You're leaving, too?

Sharon: Yeah, we didn't want to tire you guys out all night.

Nikki: Oh, not at all.

Sharon: Thank you so much for dinner.

Victor: I haven't felt this good for a long time.

Noah: Bye, Grandpa.

Sharon: Thank you, Victor. Mwah. Good night.

Victor: Take care.

Nikki: Bye, Sweetheart.

Victor: Hey, Son.

Adam: Hey, thank you for inviting us.

Victor: Yep.

Emily: Hi.

Victor: I'll be damned. I thought Patty Williams' doctor had left town.

Nikki: I guess she's still treating Patty... and enjoying a few other things, evidently.

Victor: Let's go talk to them.

Jack: You okay?

Emily: Mm, yeah, I am now. (Sighs)

Victor: You accuse me of taking advantage of Patty Williams, and here the two of you are involved in a relationship? What's going on?

J.T.: Hey, Victoria. It's J.T. uh, I'm surprised you answered your phone. I'm so used to getting your voice mail. Yeah, well, I've been busy, too. Oh, Reed's good. He's good. He, uh, he misses his mom, though. I'm sure he's gonna be happy to have you back. Wait a minute. How much longer? All right, well, listen, I wasn't gonna tell you this until you got home, but, uh, Tucker McCall took controlling interest of chancellor industries. No, of course I didn't know about it. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna keep working for him. Hey, you there? Victori-- no, I wasn't just gonna drop it on your lap like this, but you just told me you don't know when the hell you're coming back, so-- yeah, fine. We'll, uh, we'll talk about it when you get home...whenever that is.

Nick: Thank you for going tonight. I really appreciate it.

Phyllis: I wouldn't have missed that for the world.

Nick: (Chuckles) It really was an interesting evening.

Phyllis: (Laughs) Yeah, it was awesome. My gosh-- seeing Adam squirm like that, and Jack's entrance, perfectly planned, and J.T.-- (Sighs) Your dad--your dad going on about the family and how important after he laid J.T. out-- it was great.

Nick: Those were just some of the highlights.

Phyllis: Yeah, I gotta hand it to J.T. he didn't back down from your father.

Nick: Mm, he might be making a mistake going to battle with Dad.

Phyllis: Yeah, but your dad fired the first shot by giving Victoria those pictures of J.T. and Colleen.

Nick: Maybe he did cross the line.

Phyllis: Baby, this is a perfect example why we need to back away from the family. This is why. (Sighs) Your dad and Nikki are moving back to the ranch. We're gonna see him all the time now. (Sighs)

Nick: Look, you told me to think about getting us a new place, and I am.

Phyllis: Don't take too long.

Nick: (Sighs) I won't. But first, I need to get Dad to see that Adam is the one who's pulling this family apart.

Adam: Okay. (Sighs) You were right.

Sharon: (Gasps) Yes!

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: But?

Adam: Nope. No, no, no. No "Buts." Dad did not come down on me for fighting with Nick or for marrying you or for my general existence on this planet tonight.

Sharon: (Chuckles) I told you. You're his son, and that means something to Victor.

Adam: Ever since I came to town, I've felt like a second-rate citizen, a cheap imitation of Nick in Dad's eyes, but tonight made me feel equal.

Sharon: Victor accepts you as part of this family, which means that the others are gonna have to accept you, also.

Adam: You think they will?

Sharon: Victor's not gonna give 'em any choice.

Victor: So the two of you are getting married?

Jack: And you came over to congratulate us?

Nikki: You question my judgment about going back to Victor, and you do this?

Victor: You're just deplorable, aren't you?

Jack: Funny. You didn't feel that way when I talked my sister into giving you Colleen's heart.

Victor: One moment of compassion does not wipe away a lifetime of depravity, Jack.

Jack: One moment of compassion to save your life.

Victor: For your information, I will always be grateful to your sister and your niece. I owe you nothing.

Jack: Well, so much for hoping that an Abbott heart might give you even an ounce of humanity.

Victor: Who the hell are you to talk about humanity? How do you think Patty Williams will feel when she finds out that you are marrying her doctor? You're marrying the very woman that she's trying to become.

Jack: And who do we have to thank for that?

Victor: If she goes off the deep end, there's no one to blame but you.

Emily: Okay, wait a minute. Let's not assume that Patty is gonna go off the deep end.

Victor: It doesn't matter how the two of you work it out. Both of you are deplorable.

Jack: And we're right back where we started.

Victor: When I left, I told you we hadn't finished.

Jack: Game on.

Victor: It'll soon be "Game over," Jack. Let's go.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Neil: You keep playing that family card as if you're somehow entitled to be part of this family.

Brock: Well, you'll be giving birth to two children. Are you really prepared for that sacrifice?

Jill: This is not what it looks like.

Tucker: Katherine--

Kay: You shut up!
