Chloe: Well, you could have fooled me.

Billy: Look, the only person in my life that matters to me is Mackenzie. As far as you go, don't flatter yourself.

Chloe: Mm.

Billy: Mm.

(Cell phone beeps)

Chloe: (Sighs) Uh, there's something going down at the mansion.

Billy: What happened? Who's that?

Chloe: I-it's Phillip. He said get there ASAP, um...

Billy: Well, wait for me.

(Clears throat)

Lauren: Kevin. Look, I know Michael crossed the line attacking Ryder. I know it.

Kevin: You think?

Lauren: But I keep flashing back to that conversation that we had a few days ago. Do you remember when you were upset because Ryder was talking to Abby?

Kevin: Yeah. So?

Lauren: All right, do you remember what I called him?

Kevin: No.

Lauren: I called him a rat. Do you have -- I -- do you believe that? I called him a rat. He was right there. I know he heard it. And then somebody sends me a live rat? I mean, there is no way -- no way that is a coincidence.

Kevin: (Sighs)

Daniel: Pretty cool -- Mrs. C. and Murphy giving us those airline gift cards and money for food and hotels.

Amber: It was an awesome present, and how much fun is it gonna be going to the airport?

Daniel: Picking a destination at random!

Amber: It is unpredictable and romantic. It is totally us.

Daniel: Mm.

Amber: Mm.

Daniel: Let's get the hell outta here.

Amber: Yes, let's.

Daniel: (Laughs) (Sighs) Whoo-hoo!

Amber: (Laughs) On we go!

Daniel: (Gasps) Michael. Hey. (Chuckles) Don't do that. (Laughs) We were just gonna go --

Amber: (Chuckles)

Michael: The honeymoon will have to wait.

Amber: Um, why?

Michael: (Sighs) Daniel is back to being the prime suspect in the Ray Elkins case. He can't leave the state.

(Front door opens)

Cane: Hey.

Jill: Hey.

Cane: What are you doing here?

Jill: Well, I knew that Lily had a chemo treatment, so I brought over some healthy takeout.

Lily: Oh, that's so sweet. Thank you.

Jill: (Chuckles) You're welcome.

Mac: Hi, Jill.

Jill: Hi, Mackenzie.

Mac: I'll be in the bedroom.

Lily: Okay.

Cane: (Clears throat) Hey.

Jill: (Sighs)

Cane: You know how terrific you are?

Jill: Thanks, Honey. How is she?

Cane: She's excited.

Jill: She just got pumped full of toxic drugs, and she's excited?

Cane: Yeah, but she has her mind on other things these days.

Jill: What things?

Cane: We're looking into surrogacy.

Jill: Yes! Oh, my God! It'll be so wonderful to have another baby in the family.

Cane: Yeah, but, uh, technically, I'm not family.

Jill: Stop! You are as much my son as if I'd given birth to you myself.

Cane: Have you spoken to Phillip?

Jill: No. Why?

Cane: Look, I-I don't want to worry you, but I think he, um, he might be going back to Australia.

Kay: What on earth are you talking about?

Nina: Phillip just informed me that he's going back to Australia.

Kay: Now?

Nina: Tonight. Can you believe this? (Sighs) I'm so mad at him. I couldn't get angry before.

Kay: Yeah, because we thought he was dead.

Nina: Well, he's gonna wish he was dead when I get through with him. He has the chance to get back everything he lost, and now he wants to go halfway around the world to his bar.

Kay: Does Chance know?

Nina: Phillip is downstairs with him right now, that is, if he hasn't wimped out and split out the back door.

Phillip: Chance, I never smiled in photographs back then.

Chance: You seem kind of out of it. Is everything okay?

Phillip: I gotta go back to Australia.

Chance: (Sighs) For how long?

Phillip: Indefinitely.

Chance: I see.

Phillip: It's not like it was last time. This time, I-I've got a good reason.

Chance: Yeah? What?

Phillip: It's complicated. It involves confidences that I can't break. But thinking about it, there's no reason that I can come up with that's good enough, not after the pain that I've caused you.

Kay: Then why do it?

Daniel: They're zeroing in on me.

Amber: What about all the evidence that Daniel was set up? I mean, the forgery, the Terroni, everything that Deacon pulled?

Michael: It doesn't mean that Daniel couldn't have pulled the trigger.

Amber: Since when do people have to prove they're innocent? Last time I checked, we're still in America.

Michael: Don't think Ryder's gonna get out of this scot-free.

Amber: But you just said --

Michael: There are other things he'll be charged with besides murder. Hmm? I will be in touch.

Amber: Baby --

Daniel: I need to get some air.

(Door closes)

Kevin: Well, I appreciate you not coming in here with guns blazing.

Lauren: Oh, unlike my husband, you mean?

Kevin: Yeah. Yeah. He probably scared poor Ryder half to death.

Lauren: Oh, "Poor Ryder"? I think Ryder can take care of himself.

Kevin: Lauren, I know he can be a screw-up. He does stupid things. He hangs out with the wrong people. But -- but sending you a rat in a gift box? No, I refuse to believe he would do something so twisted.

Lauren: Then you're in denial, Kevin.

Kevin: No, I'm not. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. That's what you do with family.

Lauren: (Sighs)

Kay: Phillip, I would like an explanation as to why you have so suddenly decided to take off.

Phillip: I've got some unfinished business that I have to tend to.

Kay: Well, uh, we are your unfinished business, Phillip. Now what is so important that you have to leave tonight?

Chloe: Are you going back to Australia?

Nina: Yeah, apparently so.

Chloe: (Sighs) Are you okay?

Chance: Yeah, I just want to hear his excuse.

Phillip: I know I haven't earned it, but I-I need you guys to trust me, okay?

Kay: Why? You obviously don't trust us.

Nina: I was the first one to defend you when you came back. We were right there on the terrace when you told me that you were gay. You trusted me then. What's changed?

Jill: It's true, isn't it? You're leaving.

Cane: So I'll have to tell Jill her takeout was a big hit, huh?

Mac: Let me help you with these.

Cane: No, no, no, no, no. Sit back. Relax.

Lily: Uh, Cane, I'm fine, okay? I won't even feel the effects of the chemo until tomorrow.

Cane: Well, you -- you need to keep your energy up so you can, uh, have our baby. And you need to keep your energy up so you can go into remission and raise our baby.

Mac: Why don't you peel us some grapes?

Lily: Or, you know, maybe you can find some really big palm leaves so that you can stand there and fan us. (Laughs)

Mac: (Laughs)

Lily: Honey, its okay to laugh, okay?

Mac: She's right. Come on. We're embarking on an adventure. Lighten up.

Lily: Yes.

Cane: (Chuckles)

Mac: I'm gonna check in at the bar.

Lily: So... what's wrong?

Cane: I'm worried about Jill.

Lily: She seemed fine earlier.

Cane: Yeah, I know, but I told her Phillip might be going back to Australia.

Lily: Oh. So that's why she left so quickly.

Cane: And the thing is that, you know, I didn't tell the whole story 'cause Phillip asked me not to say anything, and the last time I kept his secret, it nearly cost us everything, so I just...

Lily: You should, uh, you should go find her.

Cane: Baby, I don't want to leave you.

Lily: No, Mackenzie's here if I need anything. Don't worry.

Cane: Okay, all right. I won't be long, all right? I love you.

Lily: Okay, I love you, too.

Cane: All right. Bye.

Mac: Bye. He didn't really go out to get palm leaves, did he?

Lily: (Laughs) No. No, he went to go, uh, run an errand, which is good, 'cause there's actually, um, something that I want to talk to you about that's really important.

Daniel: What's all this?

Amber: Well, I figured since we couldn't go on our honeymoon, I would bring our honeymoon to us.

(Seagulls screech)

Amber: See, over here we have a beach in Tahiti. Listen. Listen. You can almost hear the waves. (Imitates waves crashing)

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: And over there we have a nice little cabin in the mountains where we can make out by a roaring fire. Oh, and over here, we have a nice little café in gay Par-ee.

Daniel: (Sighs) You know you're nuts, right?

Amber: And that is why you married me. Hmm.

Daniel: Look, I'm sorry about running out on you before.

Amber: It's cool.

Daniel: No. No, it's not cool. I made a vow to you for better or for worse. Just right now, things seem like they couldn't get much worse.

Amber: Sure they could. You could still be single.

Daniel: You know, the only reason we're gonna make it through this is because we have each other.

Amber: Yeah.

Ryder: Look, if you're here to harass me, I --

Michael: I'm here to let you know that I'm cutting you loose.

Ryder: Why?

Michael: You're no longer the focus of a murder investigation. Daniel Romalotti is. I'm representing him.

Ryder: I mean, can they still come after me for making a false -- a false confession?

Michael: The grand jury will indict a ham sandwich if it believes it's involved in criminal activity.

Ryder: So who's gonna represent me?

Michael: I'm not the only attorney in town. I suggest you let your fingers do the walking.

Kevin: Hey, hey. What's going on here now?

Michael: I'm just informing your bro that he's no longer my client.

Kevin: But I thought he was off the hook for Elkins' murder.

Michael: He is. But he could be indicted on other charges.

Kevin: So -- so you're just gonna desert him?

Ryder: No, you know what, Kev? Don't worry about it. I don't want to cause any more problems.

Kevin: No, you're not the one causing problems. They are.

Jill: I thought we were getting along so much better. Our talks, our dinners. I-I mean, look how I'm getting along with Katherine since you've been -- have I done something to make you angry?

Phillip: No, Mom, of course not.

Jill: Then why are you doing this? Oh, Phillip, after the agony you put us through 20 years ago, are you really this selfish?

Cane: He's not selfish. He's doing this for me, to save my life.

Jill: What do you mean that "He's leaving to save your life"?

Cane: When Phillip and I were in Australia, I busted a ring of criminals. I turned them into the police.

Jill: Go on.

Cane: Well, one of them got stabbed in prison recently, so these wankers are now targeting Phillip's pub for retaliation.

Kay: Well, wouldn't it be dangerous for you to go back out there?

Cane: Yeah. Yeah, it would. But Phillip's worried if he doesn't go back, they're gonna find out where he is. They'll come here. Then they'll find me. Then we'll all be in danger.

Jill: So you're doing this to save us?

Cane: Yeah.

Nina: You -- you want to be a hero?

Phillip: I'm not a hero. I'm just standing up for what I gotta stand up for, not run away. My son taught me that.

Billy: You know, I think it's time for Delia's nap.

Chance: I'll put her down.

Chloe: Yeah, I-I'll -- I'll get her. It's fine, really.

Chance: No, it's fine. I could, uh, I could use the space.

Chloe: Got it?

Chance: Shh, shh, shh, shh.

Phillip: I should go after --

Chloe: No, you know what? I'll -- I'll get it. Excuse me.

Billy: (Clears throat) You know, man, I can't believe you. How many more lives are you gonna try to ruin here?

Jill: Oh, Billy, stop it.

Billy: No, I'm not gonna stop it. I've had enough of this crap. All you people do is bend over backwards for this jerk, and all he's done since he came to town is try to lie and manipulate.

Cane: So what do you want me to do, Billy?

Billy: I would like you to book a ticket and go home and quit trying to make other people do your dirty work. That's what I want you to do.

Kay: All right, that's enough. That is enough. No more infighting, understood?

Cane: Excuse me.

Jill: Billy, go somewhere and cool off. Why didn't you just tell us all about this?

Phillip: I didn't want you guys to worry about me.

Kay: Well, are these thugs after the both of you, Phillip?

Phillip: No, they were -- they were after Cane. But I can do something to stop them, and I owe that much to this guy.

Nina: So what's more important? Your imaginary debt to this creep who you think you owe, or finally becoming a father to your son?

Kay: Uh, he is trying to do what any one of us would do. He's trying to protect the ones he loves. I understand that.

Nina: (Sighs)

Jill: I am so proud of you. I am so proud of the man that you have become.

Phillip: I've dumped so much on you these past couple months. But there is one thing that I haven't said to you guys.

Kay: What's that?

Phillip: I'm sorry that I didn't tell you the truth all those years ago. Things could have been so different.

Jill: (Sniffles)

Chance: Hey, pretty girl. Yeah, sorry about that little ruckus before. I know you must be thinking to yourself, grown-ups can act so silly sometimes. You're right.

Chloe: Hey. Is this a private party?

Chance: Hey. No, please come on in.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Chance: (Whispering) Look at those little feet. (Normal voice) I, um, I didn't mean to duck out on you down there before, but I just had to get away from that argument.

Cordelia: (Sneezes)

Chance: Bless you. Oh.

Chloe: Bless you. No, I-I know. It was -- it got a little crazy.

Chance: (Scoffs) I was just so furious when I heard that my dad might take off again.

Chloe: Hey, you know...

Chance: (Sighs)

Chloe: I think that Cane uses people, and I would really hate to see your dad risk his life for that guy.

Chance: You know, when I think about it, what he's doing is noble.

Chloe: Yeah. You know, and he's not running out on you and Jill.

Chance: Growing up, you know, I didn't think much about my dad. I mean, I had Ryan there for a couple years. And, of course, there was Mom, and Mom was Mommy, she was Daddy, and she was big sister all rolled up into one.

Chloe: Mm.

Chance: You know, I think about it now, and seeing him back here -- I like having him around.

Chloe: And you guys can keep in touch. You know, he may even handle the situation and be, you know, back in, like, a month or so.

Chance: Yeah. It's just part of me believes that, you know, maybe he won't come back.

Chloe: I think you gotta give him a chance, okay? And if he doesn't disappoint you, then maybe you can start to let go of all the hurt that you keep bottled up inside all this time.

Lily: Um, I just -- I don't know how to thank you -- sacrificing the next nine months of your life. I just -- I want you to know that I know how much this is costing you.

Mac: Well, I, um, I met with Michael Baldwin. He's drawing up standard contracts -- no hidden clauses, no fine print. So if that's what you want to talk to me about, that's already taken care of.

Lily: No, no, no, no. I-it's -- it's not. It's not. Um... (Sighs) I... (Sighs) I just -- I can't -- I can't talk to Cane, not about this.

Mac: Lily?

Lily: (Sighs) (Chuckles) Um, just that -- what happens to my baby if I don't survive?

Kevin: You're doing this because of the stupid rat. What, are you denying it? You're trying to convince everybody he sent it to Lauren.

Michael: Is that what I'm doing? Is that really what I'm doing?

Kevin: You know, I thought you said you would never abandon me again, but I guess some things never change, huh, Mikey?

Michael: Oh, no, no. You don't -- you don't just say that and walk out.

Lauren: Ryder, I want to know what your problem with me is.

Lily: It's just that if I don't make it, I need to know that my baby will be okay.

Mac: You saw how wonderful Cane was with Delia, and she's not even his.

Lily: Yeah, but a child needs a woman's influence, especially if it's a girl.

Mac: Well, you have Olivia.

Lily: No. She just -- she travels so much for work.

Mac: What about Jill and my grandmother?

Lily: (Scoffs) Well, I mean, at this point in their lives, it's just -- it -- it wouldn't be fair. But, you, you know, you're -- you're -- you're generous. And you care about others more than yourself. And you actually want to make a difference in this world.

Mac: (Sighs)

Lily: I'm sorry. I'm making you uncomfortable.

Mac: No, I'm, uh, it's just -- it's a lot to consider. I mean, signing up for nine months is one thing. But a lifetime commitment, I-I just, uh, um, I-I-I don't -- I don't know. Can we -- can we do this later? 'Cause I sh -- I should go.

Lily: Oh, well, I-I mean, you're not having, um, second thoughts about being our surrogate, are you? Oh, no.

Mac: Um, it's been a long day, okay? Let's just, um, let's talk tomorrow.

Lily: (Sighs)

Phillip: I had so many years to think about what I would say to you if I saw you again. But you only had minutes to process that I was alive, and that was so terribly unfair.

Kay: Well, but the important part is that you did come back to us, Phillip.

Phillip: But if I would have been honest 20 years ago about how miserable I was, there would have been sadness and tears and frustration and anger. But it would have been better than faking my death, and I wouldn't have lost all those years with my son Chance. We wouldn't have lost all those years. None of us would have lost those.

Jill: (Sighs)

Cane: (Sighs)

Billy: (Clears throat)

Cane: I don't want to do this anymore with you, Billy.

Billy: Well, that's tough, man, because you are exposed as a fraud, and you would be so far out of my life, just gone, if it wasn't for Mac buying into your little puppy dog routine and convincing you to stay here.

Cane: All right. Okay. All right, listen to me. I stayed 'cause of Lily, all right?

Billy: Yeah, okay, all right. I hear that all the time, but now you've convinced the woman that I love that she is the only way that you and Lily could have a baby, not to mention that my real brother -- he's flying off to Australia because you messed with the wrong people. That's -- that's great, man.

Cane: All right.

Billy: No, I'm not done with you right now.

Cane: All right?

Billy: Yeah.

Cane: I told you I don't want to do this, but this is apparently the only way I can get you to listen. Is that right?

Billy: Good. Come on, hit me. Please. Just right here. Give me one. Please. Come on. Hit me. Do it. Hit me.

Ryder: You know, I couldn't have sent you that rat.

Lauren: Oh, really? And why not?

Ryder: 'Cause they freak me out -- those beady little eyes.

Lauren: You may think this is funny, but Michael and I do not.

Ryder: You want me to cop to something I didn't do? This may be hard for you to believe, Lauren, but I actually like you. Michael, too. And Kevin loves you. And I've tried to keep my mouth shut, but no matter what I do, you always seem to make it --

Michael: Hey! Hey! Is he bothering you?

Lauren: I can handle him. I'm not afraid of you, Ryder. I have faced adversaries that make you look like a kitten.

Michael: You have no idea what you're up against.

Kevin: Whoa, whoa. Stop threatening him. I want both of you out of here -- now.

Daniel: So if we can't leave the state, I guess we'll just have to honeymoon in Wisconsin.

Amber: Hmm.

Daniel: Oh, what about this? Look, we can go get a nice little cabin in the woods by Lake Winneha -- Winne-hatcha -- Winne-katcha-hatcha- hatcha-kootcha-ka.

Amber: Oh, gesundheit.

Daniel: (Chuckles) Come on, we can go kayaking. We can go hiking.

Amber: And we can get stung by bugs and bitten by snakes.

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: Hmm. I think we should talk about what's gonna happen if the grand jury indicts you.

Daniel: No. No, I don't want to waste one second of our lives talking about the "What ifs." So, Mrs. Romalotti?

Amber: Yes, Mr. Romalotti?

Daniel: Why don't we get cracking on this honeymoon right now?

Amber: But you still haven't decided where to go.

Daniel: What about the "City of Lights"? Hmm?

Amber: Ahh, gay Par-ee.

Daniel: Mm.

Amber: Oh, oui, oui.

Daniel: Oui, oui.

Amber: Oui, oui, oui, oui.

Daniel: Right this way.

Amber: Oh, mon ami.

Daniel: Wine?

Amber: Oh, sí -- oui.

Daniel: Oui. Si. (Laughs)

Amber: Oui. Si.

Daniel: Mmm.

Amber: Mmm.

Daniel: Mm.

Amber: Mm.

Cane: The only reason I put up with your crap for the meantime is because I felt guilty about lying to everybody about who I was, okay? Now don't you dare -- don't you ever -- don't you ever -- don't you ever portray me as someone who's a Machiavellian madman, okay, who brainwashes people. Do you understand me?

Billy: Kind of. I understand you...

Cane: Yeah.

Billy: "Machiavelli," but, uh, answer me this -- why is it that no matter how badly you hurt everyone you're in contact with, they just seem to forgive you?

Cane: You know why? 'Cause I didn't ask for any of this, Billy. I didn't say to Phillip, "Phillip. Phillip, I want to be the real Phillip Chancellor." I didn't say to Lily, "Reconcile with me." You know what? Mackenzie -- she offered -- she offered to be the surrogate of our child. You know why?

Billy: Why?

Cane: Because there are people out there. They're good people. They like to do good things for people, Billy. So why don't you just grow up, okay? And stop acting like I orchestrated all of this, all right? And if you want to know something, if you want to know why you're all alone and no one wants you, I'll give you a hint. Do you want a hint?

Billy: I'd love a hint, please.

Cane: Yeah, I'll give you a hint -- it's got nothing to do with me. Do you understand?

Billy: Thank you.

Cane: All right. You got it?

Billy: Have a good night.

Cane: Yeah, you, too.

Billy: (Chuckles) (Clears throat)

Cane: I am -- I am -- I am truly sorry about what happened with Billy.

Kay: Please, it's not your fault.

Cane: All right, look. I have to get back to Lily, so... are you sure you want to do this?

Phillip: Man, I've dealt with lowlifes like this in the bar for years. You just take care of your wife. And I'm sorry for everything.

Cane: Hey, hey. No apologies. We're gonna move on, all right? Come here.

Phillip: Yeah.

Cane: All right. (Sighs) I'll call you.

Phillip: All right.

Cane: I'll call you tomorrow.

Jill: Good night, Honey.

Cane: Bye-bye.

Kay: Quite a bond you two have.

Phillip: I never knew Billy. Cane's like -- like a brother to me.

Jill: You're very protective of him, aren't you?

Phillip: I put you guys through so much. I -- oh. Forgive me for that. Will you ever forgive me for that?

Kay: We already have.

Jill: And we need forgiveness, too.

Phillip: For what?

Jill: Well, we didn't give you everything we should have when you were a boy.

Kay: Mm. No, we treated you like a weapon to -- to hurt one another, and you certainly didn't deserve that.

Jill: Phillip, I made a lot of mistakes as a mother. But I want you to know something -- a little piece of my heart was missing when you were in boarding school, when we thought you were dead, and now that you're gonna be all the way across the sea...

Phillip: Yeah, but I'm coming back.

Chance: I'll admit, I thought the worst of you when I got back from Iraq. I thought the worst of you when you left the hospital the other day. I thought the worst of you when you told me you were heading back to Australia. But then I heard Cane's story, and I now know that what you're doing is right... Dad.

Phillip: (Sighs) I love you, son. My son.

Chance: (Sighs)

Phillip: (Whispers) Thank you.

Amber: (Laughs)

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: It was amazing. (Laughs)

Daniel: You were amazing.

Amber: (Chuckles) At least it helped us forget what Michael said for a while, hmm?

Daniel: Oh, you know, any time you'd like to help me forget...

Amber: (Laughs) Ooh.

Daniel: Yeah, well, you can go ahead and try.

Amber: You realize we're back where we started in June when they thought you shot that guy in the alley.

Daniel: Yeah. Mm, every time that damn doorbell rings, I'm gonna think it's the cops...

Amber: (Sighs)

Daniel: Which is why we need to make every second count.

Amber: Yeah.

Daniel: I mean, you know, the -- the car is already packed. We could just get in and drive someplace fun and goofy.

Amber: What about the authorities?

Daniel: Eh, the authorities. Come on. We're only gonna be gone for a couple of days. We're not gonna be crossing state lines, and, well, Michael does have our cell phone numbers. Unpredictable and romantic, remember?

Amber: Race you to the car.

Kevin: What part of "You're not welcome here anymore" don't you understand?

Lauren: You are turning your back on your brother? On me? On your best friend? For some guy that you already know is responsible for some shady things.

Kevin: Somebody has to. Nobody is willing to cut this kid a break. Now go.

Michael: Well, sorry it's come to this. Come on. Come on.

Lauren: (Scoffs) We won't come in here anymore.

Ryder: Yeah, Lauren got your present. They think I'm the one who sent it. You really jumped the gun.

Kay: You just call us the minute you land, young man. Mm!

Phillip: I will.

Kay: Good.

Jill: And then once or twice a week after that, okay? Mwah!

Kay: (Chuckles)

Jill: Oh. Oh, I am not kidding you. I thought I'd lost you forever. You have to forgive me for being a little clingy.

Kay: Listen, you gave Cane the family he always wanted, and you gave Jill a son, and you gave me a grandson.

Phillip: Oh, I -- it was stupid.

Jill: No.

Kay: Oh, well, perhaps, but remember, you did it with love.

Nina: Just like you're leaving now to protect us.

Kay: And remember, Phillip, you're a good man.

Phillip: Never too late to learn.

Kay: (Chuckles)

Jill: Good-bye, baby.

Phillip: Bye.

Kay: Be safe, Phillip.

Nina: I really hate good-byes. (Chuckles)

Phillip: Yeah. (Sighs) I love you so much.

Nina: (Sighs) I've waited 25 years for -- to hear those words from you. (Chuckles)

Phillip: Come here.

Nina: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Phillip: Okay.

Nina: Okay, can't do this. See ya.

Phillip: (Chuckles)

Chance: (Sighs) Be careful. (Sniffles) Have a safe trip.

Phillip: Uh, I want a picture of my son for my bar, okay?

Chance: (Chuckles)

Phillip: All right?

Chance: Yeah.

Phillip: And this is one that I know I'm gonna be smiling in.

(Camera shutter clicks)

Phillip: Whoa.

Kay: Depressing.

Jill: Hmm, yeah.

Kay: (Chuckles) You know? Having one less family member in the house.

Nina: (Chuckles) The way you take in strays, you're never gonna be an empty nester.

Kay: (Chuckles) Do you know, if there's one thing I have learned from Phillip's homecoming, you don't have to be related to still be family.

Jill: I wonder... (Sighs) Why Billy lit into Cane that way.

Kay: You have no idea?

Jill: No. I know they've been avoiding each other for months. Something must have set him off. I wonder what it was.

Cane: (Sighs) Hey.

Lily: Hey. How'd it go at the Chancellors'?

Cane: (Sighs) Well, there was a lot of chaos, but at least now all the secrets are out in the open, and you and I can now focus on "Operation baby." Where's Mac?

Lily: Um, she had to go.

Cane: Hey, what's up? Is something wrong? You look sad.

Lily: Um, no. I'm fine. I'm just, uh, I'm really tired, so...

Cane: Yeah? Come here. You okay?

Billy: What are you doing here?

Chloe: I thought I'd give Chance and Phillip some breathing room.

Billy: Well, I guess you saw that little pathetic showdown with Cane.

Chloe: I did.

Billy: Yeah.

Chloe: You know, I agree with you.

Billy: (Chuckles) Oh, yeah?

Chloe: Well, yeah. I mean, if it weren't for Cane, then Phillip wouldn't be leaving and making everyone all upset.

Billy: That is true.

Chloe: Well, I guess I'm gonna go check on Delia. You want to come?

Billy: Yeah, I do. But can I come up a little later? I just want to be out here for a while.

Chloe: Yeah. Okay.

Billy: (Chuckles) Oh, man.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Adam: I thought we were gonna meet at your place.

Sharon: Well, it's time for you to come out of hiding, Adam.

Ashley: I am going to invest in Chancellor. I'm just not doing it with you.

Phyllis: She followed Jack over here.

Nick: She saw you guys talking?

Phyllis: We were having sex.
