Phyllis: Thank you.

Nick: It's so great seeing Dad up on his feet. I was really worried this S.E.C. mess would cause a relapse.

Phyllis: Well, when Victor Newman stages a comeback, everybody watches, don't they?

Nick: You're still upset with him. I get that. Trust me, he's not off the hook with me, either.

Phyllis: He's your dad. I want him to get better. You know that. I want you to stop worrying about him.

Nick: Well, it's not just him. I mean, the company has really suffered since he left. Between Victoria being bombarded by the S.E.C. and the Savaneur launch, things have been very crazy.

Phyllis: Well, you could always hire me as a temp, and I could whup everyone into shape.

Nick: (Chuckles) Would you do that after all your issues with Dad and the company?

Phyllis: Of course. I wouldn't be doing it for your dad. I'd be doing it for you.

Nick: Well, you've got your hands full at "Restless Style" with no one to lighten your load.

Phyllis: Um, actually, someone does want to lighten my load... permanently.

Billy: You know, we could have had coffee in bed.

Mac: Yes, but if we hadn't left that trailer, we'd still be in bed.

Billy: Ooh, that works for me. Let's go.

Mac: No, you still haven't told me what had you so pumped last night.

Billy: Well, you almost broke me with that special interrogation technique of yours, and if you'd like to go home and try it again, well, you might break me. Mm.

Chloe: So you tell her the big news?

Mac: She knows?

Billy: Chloe, just--

Chloe: Well, I am the reason that he wants to buy "Restless Style." The boy just can't get enough of me. (Chuckles) (Sighs)

Cane: Are you okay?

Lily: Yeah, just-- it feels a little strange to be out in a public place feeling almost normal.

Cane: All right, listen. Your numbers are good, and you're in a safe part of your chemo cycle, all right? We're celebrate that, and we're gonna celebrate the fact that we agreed we have a future again, okay?

Lily: Well, I think we should wait before we share that news.

Cane: You mean with your dad and Devon?

Lily: Well, they're not gonna be thrilled that we've decided to stay together, and I'm not sure that I blame them.

Kevin: I told you, the entire 25 grand that Daniel gave me is being used to get Ryder out. I won't have anything left over to even consult with another lawyer.

Michael: It's not like we're talking about jaywalking here. It's murder.

Kevin: You didn't give up on me when I was in trouble. I'm not giving up on Ryder. Michael, it's that simple.

(Door opens)

Deacon: Just so we're clear, I am done getting jerked around by you and "Mommy dearest." Daniel pulled a bait and switch on Amber and the painting... (Hits table) And now I am left with nothing for all my hard work! As of this moment forward, I am done with you and your old lady. Our relationship is done! (Pounds on table) Over!

Amber: Daniel, wake up.

Daniel: (Groans)

Amber: Wake up, Daniel. Daniel, wake up. Wake up.

Daniel: Hmm? What? What?

Amber: Wake up. Wake up.

Daniel: What? What? (Sighs) Where'd that come from? (Chuckles)

Amber: We need to do it again.

Daniel: Oh, do we, now? Well, you don't have to ask me twice.

Amber: No, not--not that.

Daniel: Are you serious? You're already denying me sexual pleasure, and we're not even married yet.

Amber: You can have all the pleasure you want as soon as you put that ring back on my finger and we're officially back together.

Daniel: Oh, can I?

Amber: Oh, yeah, you can.

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: (Laughs)

Nick: This offer from Billy to buy the magazine-- is it legit, or is it just because he's trying to get back at the family because Dad took Colleen's heart?

Phyllis: I don't know. I didn't think of it that way. Um, I don't know. I forgot about it. (Sighs) It was just such a runaway train last night. I-I just--I've-- I just remembered now.

Nick: Is this because I forgot that biz quote?

Phyllis: N-no.

Nick: Um, okay. Well, then you're not really considering this, are you? I mean, this is-- this is our dream.

Phyllis: This was our dream. This was our dream. But a lot has happened since we started the magazine. You know, you left to go to Newman, and I was here alone. We lost our way as a couple more than once-- twice. And, um, my daughter almost died here.

Nick: I had no idea you felt like this.

Phyllis: (Sighs) I don't-- you know, Nick, it just hit me yesterday. It was so crazy here. And--and between running this magazine alone and everything that's going on with Summer, I just--I don't have a moment to breathe.

Nick: Well, I'm sure it hasn't helped that Mom was gone for so long.

Phyllis: No, it hasn’t. I mean, I understand. She had to go away to clear her head, but I-- I mean, I wish I had that luxury.

Nick: I-I don't know if I should weigh in on this considering I left, too.

Phyllis: But I-I want you to weigh in on this. Thi--this was our dream, and I-I really want to know how you feel.

Nick: Don't do it.

Mac: Are you seriously considering buying the magazine?

Billy: Actually, yeah, I am. And the best news is, it's not an Abbott or Chancellor Enterprise. It can be completely mine.

Mac: And what did Phyllis say when you made an offer?

Chloe: Well, you know, she, uh, she didn't exactly show him the door, but she definitely thought it was a lame idea.

(Clicks tongue)

Billy: She said that she was tired of running "Restless Style" without Nick.

Chloe: Why would she drop her dream into some complete stranger's hands, hmm?

Billy: J-just move. Get out of the way. Thank you. (Clears throat) Honey, she didn't say yes, but she had this look in her eye, and I've seen it a thousand times in different poker tables, and--and I know it's not over yet.

Chloe: (Chuckles) Oh, that's a--that's a great way to base a business decision on-- something that, uh, almost put you into rehab.

Mac: Why are you even here?

Chloe: I am here because "Restless style" is my turf, and I don't want him canning me. I am a single mother, and I've got a baby to feed.

Mac: Well, since you seem to think that he only wants the magazine to be around you, then you shouldn't have to worry about being fired.

Chloe: No, I just think that it is best for everyone if you take a job over at Jimmy's, and you can stalk your girlfriend rather than stalking your ex-wife.

Ryder: You don't seriously expect me to feel sorry for you.

Deacon: I don't give a damn whether you do or not.

Ryder: At least you've been staying in a nice hotel. I have been trapped in this hellhole sleeping above a heroin junkie. And if--if I can deal with that, I think you can suffer through room service.

Deacon: You're not listening to me! I am done being intimidated. Man, I want out.

Ryder: That's not your decision to make.

Deacon: She does not own me.

Ryder: Wanna bet?

Michael: Ryder lied to you.

Lauren: You don't owe this guy a thing.

Kevin: I robbed banks. I ended up in padded cells. You didn't give up on me.

Lauren: All right, Kevin, murder is a completely different thing.

Michael: I know why you want to do this. I really do, but he is not you, and he can't be trusted.

Kevin: Can you at least reserve judgment until you get to know him a little bit?

Michael: (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Michael: Excuse me. I have to get this. Hello?

Kevin: Well, someone's awfully quiet.

Lauren: You know, maybe I should check in at the store.

Kevin: Jana, come on! There is a good kid underneath all this crap. If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't even consider asking if--if he could stay with us.

Jana: What?

Kevin: Come on. There is no way he's gonna be able to find a job or a place to live. The least I can offer is to put a roof over his head.

Jana: "The least you can offer"? You have gone far and beyond "The least" things that you can do, Kevin.

Kevin: (Sighs) Will you at least just think about it? I've gotta get to the police station.

Jana: (Sighs)

Michael: Oh, he's off on his rescue mission?

Jana: My God. I want to support him, but I just have such a bad feeling about that guy.

Lauren: Because there is something not right about him. I just wish I could figure out what it is.

Cane: Look, I don't blame Neil and Devon for not being on board, okay? I know I broke their trust, and I know it's gonna take a while to win that back.

Lily: Yeah, it is.

Cane: Is there something else?

Lily: No, I-I don't know. I just--I can't explain it. (Sighs) Roxy! Hey! Oh, my gosh!

Roxanne: (Laughs) Hey.

Lily: Oh, my gosh, girl. I haven't seen you in forever!

Roxanne: (Gasps) I know. Well, actually, we were meeting here to come see you.

Lily: Well, it's about time.

Roxanne: I'm sorry it took so long. Things have just been kinda crazy.

Devon: Um, does anybody, uh, want anything to drink, or--or are you hungry?

Lily: Um, I'll take some water, actually. Thank you.

Devon: Okay. I'll get some for everyone.

Cane: I'll come with you. Here you go. Have a seat.

Roxanne: Thanks. So, girl, you look amazing.

Lily: Thank you. Bald becomes me.

Roxanne: (Laughs)

Lily: (Chuckles)

Roxanne: So you and Cane are back together?

Lily: Uh, well, sort of.

(Sighs)

Roxanne: What does that mean?

Lily: Well, we're still sleeping in separate bedrooms. You know, I'm not ready to go there yet. But we have recommitted to each other again, so...

Roxanne: That's a huge step.

Lily: Yeah.

Roxanne: What made you decide to take it?

Lily: You know, when the cancer hit, he was the first person I wanted to call. So I think just being sick kind of put into perspective about letting things go. Not that I still don't have my doubts, 'cause I do, but I'm just trying to, you know, work through those, so...

Roxanne: That's-- that's great.

Lily: You okay?

Roxanne: (Sighs)

Lily: Things seemed a little tense between you and Devon. Did something happen?

Roxanne: No. Uh, oh, my gosh. Do you know what? I totally forgot that I-- I have to take notes back to Chem lab.

Lily: Wait--

Roxanne: I have to go. I'm sorry, but it was so good to see you. Okay.

Devon: Did Roxy leave, or...

Lily: What did you do to her?

Devon: We broke up, okay?

Lily: What? When?

Devon: It was a while ago. You don't need to hear this right now, though.

Cane: Um, they've run out of coffee, all right? So I'm gonna go get some. Are you gonna be okay?

Lily: Yeah, I'll be-- I'll be fine.

Cane: All right.

Devon: (Clears throat) You don't want to hear this, okay?

Lily: Is it really that bad? Wait, did you-- did you cheat on her? Oh, my gosh. Devon, how can you cheat on someone as amazing as Roxy?

Devon: (Sighs) I didn't plan on it. I sure didn't plan on it. Tyra and I were fighting, and then all of a sudden, we--

Lily: Wait. Wait. Whoa. Whoa. Stop. Stop. Tyra?

Devon: (Sighs)

Lily: Wow. Oh, my-- okay, I'm-- I'm not even gonna go there. I thought you hated Tyra because she broke up Dad and Karen. D-does Dad even know? Wait, is that why she left town suddenly?

Devon: Yes. And, uh, believe it or not, Neil and I have made peace. And Tyra's--she's doing great. She got a new job back in Seattle, and Ana’s at a new school that she likes, so...

Lily: So what are you trying to say? This is a good thing that this happened?

Devon: No, not at all. I'd give anything to take back what I did.

Lily: Yeah, well, you can't erase it. And wanting it to won't make it go away, either.

Phyllis: Okay, so what's holding you back? Um, is it because you don't want to sell to Billy?

Nick: It's you. Because I love that look that you get in your eye whenever the new sales figures come in, or the latest issue comes out. And I don't want you giving up your dream just because I bailed and left you hanging.

Phyllis: Well, I'll be honest. I-I didn't like it when you did that. But I came to terms with it. And you wanted to work at the family business. I get it. I mean, I loved working at Newman, too.

Nick: Yeah, well, you love this more.

Phyllis: (Sighs)

Nick: And ever since Mom left, you have worked your butt off. You have single-handedly kept this magazine afloat. But there are different ways to ease the pressure other than selling.

Phyllis: Are you saying that you'll come back?

Nick: Nope, that's not gonna happen.

Phyllis: Oh. Oh, okay.

Nick: But I can find you a very solid coeditor.

Phyllis: No, no, no, no, no. You have too much to do. I'm not-- I'm not making you do that.

Nick: I just want you to be happy. I'll do whatever you want.

Phyllis: I just want to put my family first. The rest is cake.

Nick: So does that mean you do or don't want to sell?

Billy: Shouldn't you be styling some unstylish celebrity at this moment?

Chloe: (Chuckles) And he thinks that he actually knows my business. F.Y.I.-- we creative types, we actually only run on caffeine.

(Cell phone rings)

Billy: Crazy times.

Chloe: Oh.

Billy: She's crazy.

Chloe: Hi, Chance. I was just thinking about you. Hey.

Billy: (Groans)

Mac: I think it's a great opportunity to really let your voice be heard with hard-hitting exposés and features on what's really going on in the world.

Billy: Yeah, of course. I--that's good. Yep.

Mac: I just want you to think about what you're really taking on.

(Cell phone beeps)

Billy: Oh, uh, yeah, I asked my friend, uh, to tell me what a magazine with this size circulation goes for, and he says that-- oh, um... it's steep. And, uh, well, you know, I-I'm sure I can--I can get a loan for that amount.

(Clears throat)

Mac: Phyllis hasn't even said yes yet.

Billy: Yeah, but I'm telling you, if you'd have seen her face last night, you'd know that she is ready to unload it. And the best thing about this-- I mean, it--it's--it's-- its perfect. I mean, I-it's-- "Restless Style" is in Genoa City. It's not in New York. It's not in L.A. I don't have to miss Delia. (Tapping fingers rhythmically) This is perfect. I'm telling you. It's right. I know it. Just like I know, and I knew, that you were right.

Mac: (Chuckles)

Chloe: Oh, yeah. Okay, bye.

(Chuckles)

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Chloe: Oh, Chance is just one of those boys that you just want to clone.

Billy: Well, we're not stopping you.

Chloe: Tell me that you're still blue-skying about buying "Restless Style."

Mac: Can't you take a hint?

Chloe: I just hate to see his hopes dashed.

(Cell phone rings)

Billy: Wait a minute. (Clears throat) Hey, Phyllis.

Phyllis: Could we get together this morning? I think we should talk.

Billy: Uh, yeah. Where do you want to meet?

Phyllis: Mm, "Restless Style."

Billy: "Restless Style" it is.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Daniel: Can't we just get naked?

Amber: (Stammers)

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: Come on.

Daniel: (Sighs) Okay. I love-- I love this ring. (Chuckles) Okay. I love this ring because it's you. It's bright, and it's beautiful, and solid, and forever. That's what it stands for, and that's what I want for us. You know, I was scared to hold on to that before, and I let it drive us apart. But not you. You know, you were fearless, and you never gave up on us. (Sighs) You know, after seeing what a future would be like without you, I'm never gonna let you go again.

Amber: (Sighs)

Daniel: Can I have your hand now? Mm-hmm.

Amber: (Breathing rapidly)

(Sighs)

(Laughs)

Daniel: Amber, would you be mine now... and through those wheelchair races... and forever?

Amber: (Sobs) Mwah!

Daniel: Okay, I'm gonna take that as a yes.

Amber: Aah! That was-- that was a yes! A positively...

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: Yes. (Laughs) That was so beautiful.

Daniel: Thank you. Maybe we can use 'em as our wedding vows, huh?

Amber: (Chuckles) Wedding. (Gasps) Wedding.

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Amber: W-- we're getting married. (Slapping hands rhythmically) (Laughs) I have pictured this day so many times in my head, you know? But I-I want it to be us, you know? Like, Kevin and Jana, that was them, you know? Maybe we could do it like at an art gallery or a fashion show or something. Oh, and the reception, we could do-- we could do, like, an Indian theme, you know? 'Cause we both love bandore chicken. And we could--we'd have, like, the waiters with turbans on, and, like, beautiful embroidered--

Daniel: I don't love bandore chi--whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. The wedding you're talking about sounds like it's gonna cost a lot of money. I mean, don't you think that we should start saving if we're gonna get a new place?

Amber: Why do we need a new place?

Daniel: I don't know. I was thinking maybe it's time we thought about growing up a little bit. You know, get a place that has a bedroom or maybe multiple bedrooms, maybe multiple bathrooms so we can stop fighting over the same sink.

Amber: But, you know, this place is kind of like your--your ode to your creative genius... although the fact that someone broke in here and planted that painting in here is kinda creepy.

Daniel: Mm, very creepy.

Amber: Yes, very creepy.

Daniel: (Chuckles)

Amber: Can we afford new digs?

Daniel: We can't afford these ones.

Amber: (Chuckles) You wish you kept the remor-- ward money, don't you?

Daniel: Well, yeah. $25,000 sounds pretty good right about now.

Amber: Mm-hmm. Well, we're through with Deacon's head games, and that is good enough for me.

Deacon: Look, man, you want to play little mind games with mommy, that's fine with me, but I'm opting out.

Ryder: My mother decides when a contract is done.

Deacon: Not for me she doesn’t.

Ryder: What about little D.?

Deacon: He's been moved somewhere safe. Good luck trying to find him.

Ryder: You know, according to my mom, you're still on the payroll. In fact, she has your next job lined up, something to redeem yourself.

Ryder: Why don't you get on it?

Deacon: Yeah, I'll do that. Guard!

Lauren: I saw it the first time I met him, you know, the darkness of his eyes-- it just made the hair on my neck just stand up.

Michael: I've learned to trust my wife's gut instinct.

Jana: (Sighs) God, I wish Kevin would trust mine. I mean, when he asked if Ryder could move in, he--

Michael: Wait, he what?

Lauren: What did you say to him?

Jana: Well, I didn't say anything yet, but now I'm starting to think that the only way to stop Kevin from getting hurt is to keep Ryder close enough to watch him, you know? And if he's really as bad as we think, then maybe Kevin will see it soon enough before it's too late.

Michael: The logic's quirky, but it makes sense.

Lauren: Yeah, I just-- (sighs) You know, having him even closer to all of us makes me very uneasy.

Jana: Yeah, I know. I know. I'm with you there. But I think maybe in this case, keeping your enemies close might be a good thing, and we can finally get rid of this guy for good.

Ryder: Yeah, I gave it to him. You know Sharpe. Guy thinks he has a choice. Things are better with Kevin. Now that he has that reward money, he should be riding to my rescue any day now.

(Door opens)

Ryder: I gotta go. I was just calling you.

Kevin: Why? Did you think I forgot about you?

Ryder: I wouldn't blame you if you had.

Kevin: (Chuckles) Not a chance, brother man. I just posted your bail. You're sprung.

Ryder: (Laughs)

Kevin: (Laughs)

Ryder: (Sighs)

Amber: If we're gonna start saving our pennies, I should probably start cooking for us.

Daniel: Mm, yeah. Um, baby, as much as I love your cooking, I think maybe we should try and find some other areas that we can cut corners.

Amber: Hmm. What are the first steps of adulthood?

Daniel: Well, I guess we could probably start by maybe me getting a "J-o-b" job.

Amber: Oh, you know, I could get one, too.

Daniel: Mm.

Amber: I mean, I'm not gonna stop designing, but...

Daniel: Well, at least you want to still do that. I think it's gonna be a long time before I pick up a paintbrush again.

Amber: Oh, I hate that. You know, you don't need a paintbrush to be creative.

Daniel: You mean that?

Amber: Yes, I mean that. You know, you are a creative genius that shines in everything you do, everything from photography to painting to... (Cutesy voice) Marriage proposals.

Daniel: (Chuckles) Well, you make me feel like with you, I can handle anything.

Amber: (Normal voice) We can. 'Cause even if we don't have enough money to get new digs or have a huge wedding bash, we're back together. And we have each other, so that makes us the lucky ones, hmm?

Daniel: Mm, lucky.

Amber: Real lucky.

Daniel: Lucky. (Chuckles)

Amber: Mm.

Cane: Hey. I thought that was you.

Mac: What a surprise.

Cane: Uh, don't tell me I'm supposed to be working at the bar.

Mac: No, no. I--usually, when you're not serving drinks, you're holding Lily's hand through chemo.

Cane: Yeah, well, uh, she needed to spend some time with her family alone.

Mac: Have a seat.

Cane: (Sighs)

Mac: It's good she has such a strong support system. Between the cancer and losing her best friend, I know she's reeling. Billy is.

Cane: I mean, how-- how can you not be affected when you lose someone so young? But on a, uh, positive note, Lily's agreed to, uh, have a life with me again.

Mac: I am so not surprised. You have been proving yourself to Lily since I found you in the bus station ready to leave town.

Cane: Yeah.

Mac: It was only a matter of time before she forgave you.

Cane: Yeah, well, uh, forgiving's not really forgetting. I think my deception's hanging over us. And I think as much as she's gonna try, I don't know if she'll get past it.

Lily: She did nothing but love you. How could you destroy her like that? What were you thinking?

Devon: I look at what I did to Roxanne, and it doesn't even seem like me. At least, not the guy I want to be. But I guess you've heard that one before.

Lily: Okay, don't go there. Do not judge Cane.

Devon: I'm--I wasn’t.

Lily: Okay, because we're back together, and I know that you and Dad have your issues with him, but this is my choice.

Devon: Lily, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters.

Lily: Yeah, I am.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Billy: What, are you following me now?

Chloe: I work here. What's your excuse?

Nick: Billy.

Billy: Nick.

Nick: Let's, uh, let's come over here and talk.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Nick: (Sighs)

Phyllis: (Clears throat)

Nick: So were you serious when you offered to buy the magazine?

Billy: Do you still want to sell?

Phyllis: This place means a lot to us, Billy.

Billy: But you're at Newman now, so...

Nick: We worked our butts off getting this thing off the ground. We turned it into something great. Even if we did want to sell, why would we want to sell to someone who has pretty much shirked all responsibility his entire life?

Billy: Oh, well, if you just called me up here to insult me, I guess I could just--

Phyllis: Okay, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen. We want to know what you're bringing to the table.

Nick: The employees at this company deserve someone at the helm who isn't just interested in flexing his media muscles.

Phyllis: Yeah, which reminds me, if you do buy the place, you have to keep our current staff.

Billy: Seriously? Stipulations on the sale? Do you remember yesterday? You were so done with this place.

Phyllis: Yeah, well, that was yesterday. Things change. Today, I'm thinking you don't have a clue about what running a magazine entails.

Billy: Well, I'm not going to claim that I'm an expert.

Nick: Well, we don't want to seem like we're anxious to sell this thing we nurtured into a success to someone who couldn't care less about it.

Chloe: It's true. Billy doesn't know squat about running a magazine.

Billy: Do you ever stop?

Chloe: But like I said yesterday, he is definitely the most plugged-in guy I know. I mean, look at how he got us that quote yesterday from biz stone. You know, between all of his connections in L.A., New York, and Miami, I mean, they all translate into major gets. And I think that he's smart enough to know what he doesn't know, which means he may be foolish if he let go any of this staff, if only it would make him look better, so I think all you need to do is say yes.

Billy: Well, guys, I'm still here, aren't I?

Nick: What's the figure you were thinking?

Billy: Well, um, let's see. I could probably muster... this.

Nick and Phyllis: We'll take it.

Billy: Hmm.

Cane: Look, I know it was a huge leap of faith, but for Lily to give us a second chance at something I never thought would happen-- you know, but she did. And then it was like all the bad things that happened in the past couple of months just went away. And then she woke up this morning. I could just tell by the look in her eyes that she was having second thoughts, and I just knew-- I don't know. I just don't think there's anything I can do to make this go away.

Mac: I'm sorry.

Cane: Yeah, me, too. You know, it's like ever since the first night in the hospital, we've been living in this alternate cancer universe. I don't know. I don't know. I-I-I-just don't know. I just don't know if this is just a-a preview of what's to-- what's gonna happen.

Mac: You know, there's a chance that what Lily's feeling is more about the toll that chemo's taking on her body than about you. The hormones and the meds, they can really mess up your head.

Cane: (Sighs deeply) You know, I just want her to feel as good about us as I do.

Mac: It's funny, because I think that Billy felt that way about me in the beginning. But I was afraid of getting hurt again, and eventually, I got past the fear, and I'm more sure about us now than ever. She'll get past it. Just give her time.

Cane: (Sighs)

Kevin: Well, looks like you're not the only one who can help someone out of a pickle.

Michael: Congratulations, Ryder.

Ryder: My whole life, no one's ever cared for me. What can I say? This guy's my hero. Um, I just-- I just need a minute.

Kevin: Mm-hmm. (Sighs) Can you all at least just pretend to be happy for him?

Kevin: Well, I guess I don't need to ask how you feel.

Michael: I think I need a refill.

Lauren: Maybe a pumpkin scone.

Jana: You're really happy, aren't you?

Kevin: I am, which is why I wish you just consider--

Jana: One month on the sofa.

Kevin: Are you kidding?

Jana: I swear, if there is even an ounce of trouble, he is out.

Kevin: There won't be. I promise. Thank you so much. Mm, I love you. Guess what? Jana has agreed to let Ryder stay with us. Now if there was just some way to expedite his court case...

Michael: I guess I could speed up the process.

Kevin: (Sighs) No way.

Michael: I'll represent Ryder for you. But if he tries to leave town before the trial...

Kevin: He won’t. He won’t.

Michael: Or if he wants to bolt after the acquittal, I don't want you trying to keep him around. The bail, and once I know that he is in good hands, I will just let it go.

Kevin: Oh, thank you so much. You are the best brother.

Michael: (Sighs)

Kevin: Well, next to me. (Chuckles)

Jana: (Sighs)

Lily: You know, I was so worried about how you'd take the news about Cane and I getting back together, that I never expected for you to be able to relate to him.

Devon: I just wish that Roxanne would forgive me the way you forgave Cane.

(Footsteps approach)

Roxanne: Can we talk?

Devon: What made you come back?

Roxanne: Something... (Clears throat) Lily said earlier about having to let g-go of what Cane did in order to move on. I maybe think that maybe we had a chance.

Lily: Hey. You know, even though you and I said our wedding vows again, we never did have our first dance.

Cane: (Sighs contentedly)

Amber: (Sighs) Oh, I could get a job working for Lauren at Fenmore’s.

Daniel: Yeah.

Amber: Yeah.

Daniel: Yeah, you probably could.

Amber: I could.

Daniel: Yeah.

Amber: Mm. Oh, you know, maybe if we're not being creative on a daily basis, it'll make us realize how much we love it, right?

Daniel: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Amber: Yeah. Mm. Mm. O-oh, you could ask your mom for another photography job at "Restless Style."

Daniel: Yes.

Amber: Yes.

Daniel: Yes, I could.

Amber: Yes, you could. See? You could. She'd hire you, right?

Daniel: (Sighs) Would you please be quiet?

Amber: (Laughs)

Billy: Hello.

Mac: Phyllis decided not to sell, didn't she?

Billy: Actually, they said yes.

Mac: That's great.

Billy: Yep.

Mac: So why do you look like you want to jump off the nearest bridge?

Billy: Because Phyllis and Nick accepted my offer instantly. No haggling, no bartering-- just, "We'll take it."

Mac: And that's a bad thing?

Billy: Well, it probably means that I paid way too much for it, and now I gotta figure out where I'm gonna get the money.

(Laughs sarcastically)

Mac: Mm.

Billy: (Clears throat)

Chloe: (Sighs) I think that you guys really made a wise decision.

Phyllis: (Chuckles) Wise. Look at you-- all nonchalant. You're thrilled. We know it.

Nick: Hey, Billy's the boss now. Be careful. You gotta do what he says.

Chloe: Oh, don't worry about it. He would never pull rank on me, and looks like I'm gonna need that spa day that you promised me. (Clicks tongue)

Phyllis: Yeah, right. (Chuckles)

Nick: Second thoughts?

Phyllis: (Sighs) No. I mean, if it-- if it goes through, there's a lot to think about-- you know, payments, contracts, stuff like that.

Nick: Well, to me, Billy seemed excited, like he really wanted to make it happen.

Phyllis: Yeah. If it does happen, um, I'm out of a job. Any openings at Newman?

Nick: Maybe.

Phyllis: What do I have to do?

Nick: Can we talk about it later?

Phyllis: (Laughs)

Kevin: And then once you get him acquitted, that's when I can step in.

Jana: I thought getting him cleared of charges was your main goal.

Kevin: Well, he's gonna need some help getting back on his feet. I feel like if I could be there to show my support, I can undo some of the parental damage that's been done.

Ryder: I'm, uh, sorry about that before. You probably think I'm a wuss for blubbering like that.

Lauren: You mess with Kevin or anyone he's related to, including my husband, you're gonna regret it.

[Deacon opens up the envelope and it’s a picture of Michael and Lauren]

Deacon: No way.

[Deacon tears up the picture]

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Kay: I've decided to reinstate Jill at Jabot.

Woman: You couldn't have changed so drastically on your own. Someone had to help you.

Victor: Faith is a Newman.

Ashley: She's also an Abbott. For you of all people to want to put your stamp on this is the last thing that any of us needs.
