Kay: I have no idea. It's a bad day.

Murphy: Mm.

Kay: (Sighs) Oh, hello, hello, hello.

Murphy: Hello, everybody.

Kay: Oh, red, Colleen's favorite color. Come in. Come in.

Phyllis: Thank you.

Nick: Yes, we got the word-- no dark colors.

Murphy: Yeah, that was Billy's idea. He wanted the service to be a celebration of Colleen's life.

Phyllis: That's sweet. I heard he planned the whole thing.

Murphy: Yeah.

Kay: Well, I don't think Traci was up to it, uh, with everything else. Uh, by the way, your mother said that, uh, Victor's holding his own after the heart transplant.

Nick: Yes. (Sighs) We'll never be able to thank Traci enough for the donation.

Phyllis: Yeah, I-is she here?

Murphy: Uh, family's still at the cemetery.

Phyllis: Okay.

Kay: Uh, they, um, they buried her next to Brad.

Noah: (Sighs) Man, Abby's gonna be so ripped up.

Nick: She's really gonna need you today, bud.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Noah: (Sighs)

Kay: Uh, where's Summer?

Phyllis: Oh, she's with the nanny. She's meeting with her occupational therapist today.

Kay: Mm, how is she? Doing well?

Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She's getting better every day.

Kay: Thank God for that.

Phyllis: Yeah, thank God for that. Right. (Clears throat) So do you need any help? Can I help you with anything? Do you need me to--?

Kay: No.

Murphy: Well, I-- well, I could use some help with the chairs.

Phyllis: Okay. Lead the way.

Murphy: Thank you.

Kay: Oh, Nicholas? Nicholas. (Sighs) Darling, listen, um, your mother, uh, told me about Sharon losing the baby, and I'm so sorry, Sweetheart. I'm so sorry.

Doris: Sweetheart, why didn't you call me right away?

Sharon: I was in shock, Mom.

Doris: You didn't have anyone to turn to.

Sharon: Well, if you're worried that I did something crazy or self-destructive, I didn't. I wasn't even tempted. That was Faith's gift to me. I got better so that I could be a good mother to her. And now that's not gonna happen, but still, I'm a lot stronger now. I'm better because of her.

Doris: My baby.

(Sighs)

Sharon: I'll be all right, Mom.

Doris: How was Nick when you told him?

Sharon: I would have given anything to spare him that.

Doris: You'll help him get through this.

Sharon: No. He has Phyllis.

Doris: She's not going to feel his loss the same way you do.

Sharon: It doesn't matter. You know, it was grief over Cassíe that brought us back together, and I'll never regret that, but I'm not gonna go down that road again, either. I've just accepted that Nick and I aren't meant to be together.

Doris: (Sighs)

Neil: Thanks.

Lily: Hi. You ready to go?

Neil: Hey, Honey, you're not looking so hot.

Lily: Well, what do you expect, Dad? My best friend just died.

Cane: Sweetheart.

Lily: What?

Cane: Whoa. Yes, you're burning up.

Lily: No, it's just a hot flash.

Cane: No, no. I'm calling the doctor.

Lily: (Sighs)

Billy: Hey, the place looks great. Thank you very much.

Murphy: And here's your key. If there's anything more we can do, just let us know.

Billy: Thank you.

Murphy: Okay.

Kay: Um, here we go, Traci.

Traci: Thank you, Katherine.

Kay: Now, um, have you had anything to eat?

Traci: Yeah, I-I think so.

Kay: Well, I'm gonna get you something, and you make sure she eats it.

Traci: (Chuckles)

Steve: Okay.

Kay: I'll be right back.

Traci: Thank you.

Jack: From Mamie.

Ashley: Oh, I can't. It's gonna make me cry again. (Sighs)

Jack: I take it those are from Mother.

Ashley: Yes, of course.

Jack: Typical.

Ashley: I think its best she stayed on the cruise. She never really understood the relationship and the bond that Traci and Colleen shared anyway.

Jack: Amazing, isn't it, that you and Traci could be such terrific moms after the childhood we had?

Ashley: If we are good parents, it's only because of Dad's example.

Jack: I am just so thankful he didn't have to struggle through this, though I wish he could have met Faith.

Ashley: Oh, me, too.

Jack: Do you remember how gaga he went over Colleen when she was born?

Ashley: (Sighs) I do.

Jack: Hey.

Chloe: Hi.

Mac: Hi.

Chloe: Do I need a secret password? (Chuckles)

Mac: Oh, no. Um, I'm sorry. Come on in.

Chloe: Thanks. I, um--

Kay: Oh, hello, Chloe.

Chloe: Hi. Jill asked me to pick this up and bring it over.

Mac: Your mom's not coming?

Billy: No, she's covering for Neil at Chancellor so Neil could be with Lily. Hey, uh, thanks for hiring her again, though.

Kay: Yeah.

Chloe: Yeah, all of us who live with her are extremely grateful.

Kay: Well, no more grudges or feuds, especially when it leads to tragedies like this. Uh, let me take that for you, Darling.

Chloe: Oh, okay. Thank you.

Kay: All right.

Billy: So you probably just want to go home.

Chloe: Do you mind if I stay?

Billy: No, I-I-I just-- you weren't close to Colleen.

Chloe: I-I know. I know. Actually, she couldn't stand me, but she stood up for me when I needed her as my maid of honor, and I will never forget that. She was a real class act.

Billy: Yeah, she was the best.

Dr. Swift: Has the, uh, has the nausea eased up?

Victor: Somewhat.

Dr. Swift: Good.

Nikki: You're upping the dosage?

Victoria: What is that?

Nikki: Uh, it's the antirejection drug.

Victoria: Are you saying that his system is rejecting the new heart?

Dr. Swift: Oh, no, no, no. We haven't seen any signs of that.

Nikki: Good. (Sighs) So we can breathe easier.

Dr. Swift: It's important to remember that recovery from a transplant is more of a marathon than a sprint. Now that being said, I'm very pleased with your progress. I-it is better than anything we could have hoped for.

Victor: Thank you, Doc.

Nikki: Good. Thank you.

Nikki: You're thinking about Colleen's family, aren't you?

Victor: I'm saying good-bye to her as we speak.

Doctor: You do have a fever. That, plus your low white blood count--

Lily: Okay, well, I will wear gloves and a mask, and I won't touch anyone.

Doctor: With your weakened immune system, you can't risk going out.

Neil: Sweetheart, Colleen's family will understand.

Cane: Look, Colleen will understand. She would not want you putting yourself in danger.

Neil: I'll tell you what, Devon and I will go to the memorial service. We'll explain, all right?

Devon: And afterwards, we'll come right back and tell you everything that happened, all right?

Lily: No, it is not the same! Colleen was always there for me, and I want to be there for her.

Mac: Right here?

Billy: Yeah, that's perfect. Thanks. (Clears throat)

Mac: It's beautiful.

Billy: Yeah, I took it. Hmm.

Kay: It can't be too easy for you being here, hmm?

Chloe: Nowhere near as hard as it is for Billy.

Murphy: He--here you go, Sweetheart.

Kay: Ah, thank you, Darling.

Murphy: Oh, uh, your mom called. She said not to worry. Delia stopped crying soon after you left.

Kay: (Chuckles)

Chloe: Oh, thanks. We're having a little bit of a separation anxiety problem.

Murphy: Ah.

Chloe: But it's probably my fault, because ever since this has happened to Colleen, I just-- I can't let go of little Dee.

Kay: Sad, isn't it? You know, sad that, uh, Delia will never get to know her cousin Colleen.

Murphy: Hmm.

Billy: Oh, no, Delia's gonna know CeeCee. Daddy's gonna tell her all the stories.

Kevin: I hope you know how much it meant to me having those last few minutes to say good-bye. It was really kind of you.

Traci: Well, she believed in you, Kevin.

Kevin: I'm gonna do my best to live up to that.

Traci: So am I.

Jana: She was an inspiration to all of us, truly.

Steve: Thank you.

Daniel: This is for you.

Traci: Oh! Oh, Daniel. Oh, my God, it's beautiful. It's--it's her. Look at the eyes and the smile... (Chuckles) Steve.

Steve: We'll cherish this. Thank you.

Daniel: Well, you have no idea how much she meant to me.

Traci: Thank you, Honey.

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Traci: Oh. I'm gonna put this on the display, okay?

Daniel: Okay.

Traci: (Sniffles)

Traci: (Sighs)

Ashley: Oh, that's beautiful. Did Daniel do that?

Traci: He did. Isn't it breathtaking? My sweet baby.

Ashley: It's a labor of love, you can tell.

Traci: (Sniffles) Yeah. (Sighs) There were so many times when she was lonely. I just wonder if she knows how many people cared about her. (Sniffles) Ashley, I've gotten so many phone calls.

Ashley: Brad's mom, I'm sure.

Traci: Yeah, and Adrian. He's teaching in Europe. He couldn't get away.

Ashley: It must be so hard for the people that couldn't get here. You know, the ones that loved her should be together, right?

Traci: Yeah.

Sharon: So if you have trouble getting a hold of me, that's because I'm gonna be up at the cabin later, and they don't have good reception up there.

Doris: The Abbott cabin.

Sharon: Yeah. Um, there's this really great spot in the woods, and I want to spread the baby's ashes there.

Doris: So you won't be alone. You'll be with Nick.

Sharon: You know what? Nick has a lot of people who he's gotta look after right now.

Doris: You can't exclude him from this!

Sharon: Well, you know what? We'll--we'll go up there another time together once his father has recuperated and Summer is doing better.

Doris: Then why don't you wait until then?

Sharon: Because, Mom, I have to--I just-- I have to do this right now, okay? I love you. Trust me.

Doris: Mm. (Sighs)

Nick: You hanging in there?

Abby: I keep trying to picture her with my dad teasing each other the way they used to, but then I feel kind of left behind.

Phyllis: Oh, no, no. Don't feel left behind. They--they'll find ways to, um, to send you messages.

Abby: You think so?

Phyllis: Yeah, I do, definitely.

Abby: Uh, I'm gonna need to get some more tissues.

(Cell phone rings)

Nick: (Sighs) Excuse me.

Nick: Hi, Doris.

Doris: I've just been with Sharon, and I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about the baby.

Nick: Thank you. How's Sharon doing?

Doris: (Scoffs) She says she's made peace with this.

Nick: But you don't think so?

Doris: She just left to go up to the Abbott cabin alone with the ashes. She didn't want to bother you, but I thought you should know.

Lily: (Sighs) Cane, they are celebrating her life. I should be a part of that. Her mom would want me there.

Cane: Listen, we all would love you to be there, but not if it means we could lose you, too.

Lily: (Sighs) I hate this.

Cane: I know.

Lily: (Sighs) Can I just be alone? Please?

Neil: (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Devon: Yeah? What's up?

Daniel: Hi.

Devon: Hey.

Daniel: Neil, how you doing?

Neil: Hi, Daniel. I'm fine. How are you?

Daniel: Hey, I haven't seen Lily. Did she come with you?

Neil: She would have, but she's running a fever. The doctor insisted that she stay home.

Daniel: Oh, that sucks that she's gonna miss Colleen's memorial.

Neil: Daniel, she would have dragged herself here. I couldn't allow that to happen.

Noah: This is mom trying to be all independent again, right? Handle things on her own?

Phyllis: (Sighs)

Nick: I honestly don't know what your mom's thinking.

Phyllis: It's okay. You can go. It's your baby, too. You should be there.

Nick: The Abbotts saved my father's life.

Phyllis: And they know you're grateful.

Nick: (Sighs)

Phyllis: I'll stay here and represent the family.

Noah: I'm coming with you.

Nick: Okay.

Abby: Uh, Noah? Would you come sit with me? They're gonna start soon.

Nick: Yeah, why don't you go? I'll, uh, I'll take care of your mom.

Nick: Are you sure you're okay with me leaving?

Phyllis: You need to do this. Go ahead and go.

Nikki: The memorial service should be starting any minute.

Victor: (Sighs) I wonder how they'll react to-- to what I did.

Nikki: Hopefully, they'll understand it came from the heart.

Phyllis: (Sighs)

Daniel: Where's Nick?

Phyllis: There's something he needed to do. Amber?

Daniel: She wasn't that close to Colleen.

Phyllis: (Sighs)

Billy: I thank everyone for coming out. I know we're all wiped. It's, uh, it's been rough. It's been rough having to say good-bye to somebody we couldn't bear to lose. But, uh, we all had a chance to do that. We've all had a chance to say good-bye and to shed a few tears. Okay, maybe more than a few. (Chuckles) But that is not Colleen. That is not what she was about. Colleen was about joy, about making us laugh and about cheering us up. So we are gonna do this her way. We are gonna honor her life the way that she honored ours-- with smiles and laughter. Traci?

Traci: Thank you, Honey.

Traci: (Sighs) (Chuckles) (Sighs) (Sniffles) I think, um, all of you probably... (Chuckles) Know the story of how l-- how Colleen was born right inside there. I delivered her into Brad's awaiting arms. A few days ago, I had to do that again. (Sniffles) But I know that she is with him, and that she's not alone. I am so proud of my girl. (Sniffles) She's taught me so much. She was so much braver than I am, and so much more adventurous and--and forgiving. (Sighs) When she loved, she loved completely-- no holding back. Colleen touched so many lives, and she continues to. There is a 16-year-old girl who won't have to plan her life around dialysis ever again. (Sniffles) There is a father who will see his children for the first time. (Sniffles) (Voice breaking) My angel did that. She's making miracles. (Sobs) (Sobbing) (Sniffles) (Sighs) If any of you have memories of Colleen that you would like to share, please.

Victoria: I have a letter from my father. May I read it aloud?

Traci: Billy.

Billy: He's already got more than he deserves.

Traci: Read the letter.

Victor: (Groans) (Moans)

Nikki: What? What is it? Victor?

Victor: (Sighs) Nothing. (Sighs)

Nikki: Don't say "Nothing."

Victor: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Nikki: I can feel your pulse. It's strong and steady.

Victor: (Sighs)

Nikki: An Abbott heart beating inside of you, keeping you alive... after all these years, all these feuds.

Victor: Mm-hmm. They may only intensify.

Nikki: No, they won't.

Victor: Mm. But how can any of the Abbotts look at me without being reminded of Colleen's death?

Nikki: They won't do that. They're not going to sully her memory with bitterness, and this was an incredible act of mercy.

Victor: I wonder if the decision had-- had been in the hands of anyone but Traci--

Nikki: It wasn't just Traci's. I know Jack had a say in it. I'm convinced of that.

Victor: Mm.

Nikki: I just wonder if the situation had been reversed, could we have been that generous?

Victoria: "On this tragic day, my family joins with yours in mourning your daughter, your sister, your niece and your friend. We share your sorrow, and at the same time, we are filled with gratitude that somehow, in the midst of unbearable suffering, you found the strength and compassion to spare our family and so many others the same pain." (Sighs) "There could be no more fitting tribute to the beauty of Colleen's spirit, and at this very moment, she is bringing joy and relief and hope to dozens of people-- everyone she saved and all of those who love them. We are her living legacy. She will never be forgotten. Every time I hold my newborn daughter in my arms, I will think of Colleen. Every moment I spend with my grandchildren and my children, I will remember that she made it possible. And I will hold her forever in my heart." (Sighs)

Cane: So, uh, do you think you might be up for a visitor?

Lily: I can't have visitors, remember?

Cane: Oh, yes, you can... if they've been scrubbed from head to toe and disinfected.

Lily: (Sighs)

Cane: And in this case, from head to paw.

Lily: Oh, Humphrey. You gave him a bath?

Cane: And I gave him a blow-dry, and the whole thing was very traumatic, wasn't it?

Lily: Oh, poor baby. Yes, hi. (Sighs) Are you having a bad day? Me, too.

Cane: Well, and I know there's one more thing that's gonna make you feel better.

J.T.: I called her "Kid." (Chuckles) It turns out, it drove her nuts. Uh, of course, um, I didn't know, you know? I-I thought she was tutoring me all those hours just to be nice. Yeah, that's what-- that's what made it so funny. Everybody was worried about poor little Colleen, you know, and what's she got herself into? Hell, Uncle Billy was, uh, I think he was ready to take me out. The fact is, I was the one in over my head. I had no idea how she was gonna change my life.

Jack: I gotta hand it to you, Trace. If she was my kid, she'd be spoiled rotten. Honestly, I could not say no to her smile. Last year, when she was living at the house, she tried to convince me... (Sighs) (Chuckles) To wake up early with her and exercise. She had this great new music video. "Oh, come on, Uncle Jackie."

Traci: (Chuckles)

Jack: "Come on, Uncle Jackie."

All: (Laughing)

Jack: It was Zumba...

Billy: (Laughs)

Jack: Which is Latin dancing, for those who don't know.

Billy: Oh, show us your moves, Jackie boy.

Ashley: Come on, Jackie. Come on, Jackie!

Billy: Come on!

Jack: No, no. I am not--

Traci: Come on.

Devon: Come on.

Billy: Let's go, Jackie!

All: (Cheering) (Laughing)

Ashley: Okay, that's enough. That's enough.

All: (Laughing)

Ashley: So Colleen would ask her, "Who loves you?" And Abby would open her arms really wide, and she'd say, "Colleen loves me." And... (Sighs) Even when we left Genoa City, I'd ask her the same question, and I always got the same answer. I wanted to remind my little girl that Colleen always loved us, even when she wasn't with us. (Voice breaking) And, Traci, she still does. I--

Traci: (Sniffles)

Ashley: Sweetie.

Traci: Thank you, Honey.

Abby: I didn't always listen to her advice, but I will now. I know I'll still hear her voice in my head telling me things like, "Standing out is way cooler than fitting in," and, "Everything goes with black." (Chuckles)

Traci: (Chuckles)

Abby: And now I have a little sister, and I just want to be as good to her as Colleen was to me.

Neil: Our daughters have been best friends for a long, long time. I want you to know that Colleen is part of our family.

Traci: Thank you.

Devon: Hey, did you hear that?

Cane: Yeah, it's great. Thanks.

Neil: Colleen and Lily went through a lot together-- a lot of stores, a lot of money...

Traci: (Laughs)

Neil: And a lot of trouble, let me tell ya.

Traci: (Laughs)

Neil: And through it all, Colleen always looked out for my girl, even if it meant getting into trouble herself just to protect Lily. When Lily was diagnosed with cancer, Colleen was the best friend you could possibly ask for. She knew when to let her cry and how to make her laugh. And she knew that sometimes, the best medicine is a pint of ice cream...

Cane: (Chuckles)

Neil: And some hot gossip.

All: (Laughing)

Neil: You know, they were going shopping for wigs last I heard-- chartreuse in color.

All: (Laugh)

Neil: I know that deep in my heart, that Colleen-- she will continue to look out for my girl and for all of us.

Traci: Thank you. (Sobs)

Neil: (Sighs)

Lily: Thank you.

Cane: You're welcome.

Abby: I'm so glad you came.

Victoria: It was really beautiful what you said.

Abby: I really liked Dad's letter, too.

Victoria: Well, he wouldn't let this day go by without thanking Traci.

Abby: I should probably go thank her again. God, could you imagine if I lost Dad, too?

Victoria: Abby, he's doing really well. And you know what? I think he intends to take really good care of your sister's heart.

Nikki: I'm gonna go get your doctor.

Victor: No, please. This was just a dizzy spell. How much of this was in the papers?

Nikki: What, the surgery? Nothing.

Victor: (Sighs)

Nikki: Of course, there are a lot of rumors going around about what you're doing here. In fact, today there was an article speculating about it in the paper.

Victor: Let me see.

Nikki: No, I don't want you worrying about that stuff right now.

Victor: Wait a minute. Do I have to get it myself? Just let me see it.

Nikki: All right. All right. I'll get it. I'll get it.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: But I insist that you let Victoria and Nicholas take care of everything at the office.

Victor: (Groans)

Nikki: Because-- oh, my God! Victor!

Nikki: Oh, my God, help!

Victor: (Gurgling)

Nikki: Help!

Victor: (Grunting)

Nikki: We need a doctor!

Mac: Did you want to be alone?

J.T.: No, it's all right.

Mac: Pretty amazing letter Victor wrote.

J.T.: It's pretty amazing that Traci let her read it.

Mac: Did you expect her to say no?

J.T.: Well, let's just say, I wouldn't blame Traci if she told Victoria to take that letter and shove it. Everybody here knows that Victor was out to destroy Colleen, and now he's alive because she's gone.

Kay: I must say, I miss my dear friend John Abbott, but, uh, I do know, and I take comfort in the fact, that Colleen has her granddad now. I assure you, young lady, you are in very, very good hands.

Traci: Thank you.

Billy: Uh, would anybody else like to say anything?

Kevin: I would.

Kevin: Um, uh, I just want to say that, uh, I think Victor was right in his letter when he said that donating her organs is the best way to honor Colleen. She's giving people a second chance at life, and that's exactly what she did when she was here. She didn't turn her back on people. She didn't write them off, even when they deserved it. (Sighs) She made us want to be better and try harder, and I am tremendously grateful.

J.T.: Look, what-- what you heard me say before--

Victoria: (Sighs) Its okay.

J.T.: (Sighs)

Victoria: Really, it's okay. You loved Colleen.

J.T.: It's just hard to accept, you know? But I, uh, I shouldn't have said what I said.

Victoria: You know, my father wasn't trying to destroy Colleen. He went out to that lake to try to save her life.

J.T.: And now she has saved his.

Victoria: I know it's tragic, and it's unfair. But I can't be sorry that my dad is alive. I just can't.

J.T.: I know that. That's not what I meant.

Victoria: My dad is not an easy man to love, but I do. I love him, and I need him. Right now, he's fighting for his life.

Dr. Swift: 10 milligrams diazepam!

Victor: (Groaning)

Nikki: What's happening?

Dr. Swift: It's a myoclonic seizure. Hold him!

Nikki: What does that mean? Is his body rejecting the heart?

Dr. Swift: Harder.

Billy: So... one day we were at this exhibit, and, uh...

Jack: Thank you.

Billy: We were looking at all the paintings, and I don't get it. It just looks like somebody threw paint at a canvas, and--and I'm just befuddled. But Colleen's standing there like this, like-- like the heavens had opened up and angels were singing, and she saw beauty. And really, you know, that's how she was with us, with the people she loved, because the rest of the world could just see, uh, weakness and failure, but when she looked at you, she saw beauty. And the most amazing thing is the more time you spent with her, the more you started to see it her way, and you believed that you saw beauty in yourself. None of us got to spend enough time with Colleen. But if, uh, we would try to see the world the way she did, if we tried to, uh, treat people the way she would, offer that helping hand and that hug, that swift kick in the pants when you needed it...

Traci: (Chuckles)

Billy: Well, then she's not really gone.

("An Angel's Lullaby" playing)

Billy: Her spirit will live within us, even as it rises up to something more beautiful with more joy.

Woman: Go to sleep my little one hush now don't you cry listen close and you will hear an angel's lullaby the whisper of a mother's prayer the music of a sigh listen close and you will hear an angel's lullaby wherever fate may find us though our paths may part forever I will hold you in my heart may angel wings enfold you their voices fill the sky all the joy of heaven's song an angel's lullaby so sleep my child and have no fear for this is not good-bye listen close and you...

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Jack: We know you love your sister and want to protect her. She is building an insanity defense.

Victoria: I want you to stop any unauthorized deals that Adam's done.

Adam: I was not up to anything.

Patty: This is not what I thought our honeymoon would be like.
