Lily: (Laughs) Colleen, thank you, but Cane will be with me at the hospital, and so will my dad and Devon. Yep, they've got it covered. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get your chance, because unfortunately, I have to go back many times. Okay, I will. All right, love you, too. Bye.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: Hey. What's this?
Cane: This is organic fruit.
Lily: Ah.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: That's sweet. Oh, it's from Daniel. That was nice. (Sighs) Okay, well, I should probably, um, pack some things to do while I'm there.
Cane: Unh, I already did that... last night. I couldn't sleep.
Lily: Wow. (Chuckles) Okay.
Cane: (Clears throat)
Lily: Wow, okay. So six DVDs, two books and a stack of magazines. You know, chemo only lasts three hours, right?
Cane: Yeah, I know. I just, uh, I don't know. I wasn't sure what you'd want.
Lily: Thank you. That was very sweet of you.
(Knock on door)
Cane: (Clears throat)
Neil: Hey, Cane. How's Lily... doing?
Lily: Yes. Yeah, I should have warned you. Sorry.
Ryder: Brothers? You mean, like--
Kevin: I mean like brothers. This is my father, Tom Fisher. And you say he's your dad, too.
Ryder: No, his name is Tom Callahan.
Kevin: Yeah, he did use that alias sometimes.
Ryder: He never said anything about another kid. For it--for it to be you, I mean, that's--that's just-- that's bizarre.
Kevin: One of the very, very few advantages of growing up the way that I did is that you know when somebody's lying. Alarms go off. And right now, alarms are going off. See, the thing is, I think you're full of it.
Deacon: Doesn't seem real to me, either. You know, as many times as I pictured that ring on your finger... of course, when I pictured it, that was all you were wearing.
Amber: I thought you said this was about more than sex.
Deacon: Well, it would have to be, wouldn't it? I mean, with everything I've gone through? I mean, look, sex is easy. I could go down to the bar right now and pick up--
Amber: I wish you would. I wish you would, and just leave me alone.
Deacon: You sure about that?
Amber: Yes. Why don't you go be with someone who wants to be with you? I-I don't know what you think marriage to me is gonna be like.
Deacon: Oh, I think I got a pretty good idea. I mean, we did live together for a while.
Amber: (Scoffs) That was against my will, too.
Deacon: Oh, come on. It was good times. You remember living above the bar? You know, playing pool and you'd kick my ass all the time? Of course, I'd let you.
Amber: You're such a liar.
Deacon: What about, um, when we used to take "Little D" to the beach?
Amber: No, we're not gonna talk about that.
Deacon: All right, I'll tell you, why don't we talk about that time that I walked in on you in the shower, and you and I wound up... (Whispers indistinctly) You remember that?
Amber: I don't-- I don't remember.
Deacon: Yeah? Well, I remember. I should have taken you right then and there. Our lives would have been so different.
Amber: Weren't you just trying to tell me how unimportant sex is?
Deacon: Was I?
Amber: Mm, yeah. In fact, you know what? You're right. You're right. I think we should wait until after we're married to have sex.
Paul: (Sighs)
J.T.: What did the desk clerk say?
Paul: No one registered under her name.
J.T.: But you still think it's your sister you saw?
Paul: I only saw her from the back, but the way she-- she carried herself, held on to her rosary beads in her hand, it just triggered something, and...
J.T.: Well, look, I trust your intuition any day. Let's check this out.
Paul: Well, why don't you stay on Mary Jane's trail? I mean, this could be nothing.
J.T.: Yeah, all right. Uh, call me when you're done.
Paul: Yeah. I-I'll catch up with you.
Mary Jane: (Sighs heavily) oh, that was too close. (Sighs) (breathlessly) Thank God he didn't recognize me. Oh, my God.
Colleen: How did-- who took these?
Victoria: Does that really matter? The point is I know. Twice now, I have been humiliated by pictures of you and J.T. -- twice now.
Colleen: There--there is no reason for you to be humiliated, because--
Victoria: Do you have some sort of grudge against me or something? First, you get on the Newman board and you try to sabotage my acquisition.
Colleen: (Scoffs) Oh, my God, that wasn't about you.
Victoria: Oh, no? Was it about J.T. then?
Colleen: No!
Victoria: I have tried to be patient and understanding with you, Colleen, because you lost your father. I have tried.
Colleen: Oh, oh, oh, oh, okay, that was patience? Booting me off the board? That was patience?
Victoria: That was business? This--this is personal. You want my husband?
Colleen: Yes, I do.
Jana: Okay, there you are.
J.T.: Thank you.
Jana: Mm.
J.T.: Hey, would you mind showing this picture of Mary Jane around to your customers? Just let them know she probably looks a lot less put together than this.
Jana: Yeah, of course. No problem.
J.T.: All right, thanks. I'm gonna put my number on the back.
Jana: You know, we have an e-mail database of our regulars. I could have Kevin send it out if you like.
J.T.: Yeah, actually, that'd be great. I've got it scanned, so I'll, uh, I'll send you the file.
Jana: Okay, well, he's actually not here at the moment. He's got a mystery of his own to solve. Excuse me.
Kevin: So do you want to change your story?
Ryder: Story?
Kevin: You just happened to hear one of my speeches. That's why you came to see me. You just happen to know Deacon Sharpe, the guy who's setting my best friend up for murder, a murder that you happened to commit? Oh, wait, and one last thing. We just happen to have the same father? Come on, Ryder. Nobody's that stupid.
Ryder: Come on. After the chipmunk robberies, your story was in the paper. You sounded like me. So I checked you out, heard your speech, and you said things that I had been-- I'd been thinking for years and never told anyone about. My whole life, I've been cut off, alone. And somebody comes along, and-- and he's saying things like he's living inside my head. It was a risk, a huge risk, coming to see you, telling you the truth. But I had to know how you understood what it was like for me. And I guess now we have our answer. We lived the same life. Look, maybe-- maybe what brought us together, maybe it wasn't so much coincidence a-as fate.
Kevin: Fate? You--you're saying that the universe brought us together?
Ryder: Du-dude, come on, man, you've gotta believe me. I'm not--
Kevin: Sorry, buddy. I don't have to believe anything.
Deacon: You want to wait?
Amber: For your sake as much as mine.
Deacon: Oh, for my sake.
Amber: Mm, yeah. Without sex and-- and all of those endorphins clouding your judgment, you might decide you don't even want to get married.
Deacon: Well, you better hope that I don't change my mind. Otherwise, nothing's keeping Danny out of jail. All right, okay. Fine, we'll wait.
Amber: Really?
Deacon: You sound disappointed.
Amber: No. No, it's just-- that's--that's good. That's--that's good.
Deacon: I mean, it's only gonna be for a couple days.
Amber: What?
Deacon: I don't believe in long engagements. Is that a problem?
Amber: Y-you said that you want a-a-a real marriage, which means a real wedding. I don't even have a dress.
Deacon: Well, why don't you go, uh, go get yourself one.
Amber: I am a designer. I am not wearing off-the-rack to my own wedding.
Deacon: Well, you do whatever you want, but you do it quick. I'll march you down the aisle in an old t-shirt if I have to.
Amber: (Scoffs)
(Door slams)
(Cell phone rings)
Deacon: Yeah?
Ryder: Fisher was here.
Deacon: Good.
Ryder: Not good. He's pissed off. Doesn't believe me. I don't think he's coming back.
Deacon: All right, relax. Relax, he's coming back.
Ryder: Yeah, it's easy for you to say. You're not locked up.
Deacon: Ryder, chill.
Ryder: I don't like confined spaces.
Deacon: Listen to me. You keep it together, do you understand me? Don't screw this up.
Neil: Hey. Here you go. This just came for you.
Lily: Wow. People are being so sweet, like Kevin and Jana and Billy and Jill and Daniel. Oh, it's from Roxy. It's that movie that we saw on our double date together.
(Chuckles)
Devon: Um, is that, uh, one that you wouldn't admit you liked?
Cane: Yeah, even though you were laughing louder than everybody else in the theater? It was that one?
Lily: Yeah, it's that one.
(Chuckles)
Cane: (Laughs)
Lily: Well, this is definitely coming with us, so will you tell her that I said I really appreciate it?
Devon: Yeah.
Lily: Thanks. (Clears throat) Well...
Cane: Well, it's time to leave, huh?
Lily: Um, you know, I'm gonna go put Humphrey in his--in his crate.
Cane: It's all right. I can do it.
Lily: No, no, no. I've, uh, I've got it.
Cane: You sure?
Lily: Yeah. Thanks. Come on.
Neil: Cane, why did she do that?
Cane: You know, it made her feel like she was gonna be in control before it fell out.
Devon: Right, but it might not have.
Cane: Yeah, well, the doctor thinks otherwise. So now, you know, she took action. She feels better for it. Hey.
Lily: Hey.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: (Sighs)
Neil: Hey, Honey.
Lily: Mm-hmm?
Neil: Would you like me to take Humphrey for the night, or...
Lily: Um, actually, Mac is gonna pick him up later, and Billy even got him a little teddy bear that matches the one that he got me.
Devon: Oh, good Lord. That dog is spoiled.
Lily: Well, it might be the only baby I ever have, so...
Cane: Hey, hey, hey. You have some eggs saved up, and they're waiting for you to get healthy. You don't forget that, okay?
Neil: Lily, one day, we're gonna tell your babies and your grandbabies everything you went through just so they could come into the world.
Lily: Well, the, um, nurse said that we shouldn't be late, so we should-- we should go, you guys.
Cane: All right. All right. Come on. Let's go.
Devon: All right. I'll get this stuff.
Neil: All right.
Lily: (Sighs)
Jana: So you told Ryder you don't believe him?
Kevin: Yeah.
Jana: (Sighs) I bet that scared him.
Kevin: It did.
Jana: Well, you know what? Good. Now whatever that bugger was up to, he knows you're not falling for it.
Kevin: (Sighs) I just don't understand why he would confess to murder. He's facing life in prison now.
Jana: Well, it's better him than Daniel.
Kevin: Well, yeah, but nobody even suspected him. The feds never believed there was a third man in the alley. He could have just walked away.
Jana: Well, maybe his conscience finally got to him.
Kevin: He says that I got to him. I convinced him it was time to stop pretending and face up to himself.
Jana: You believe that?
Kevin: (Sighs) No. But what if he's just a pawn in--in somebody else's game, you know?
Jana: Well, then, th-that's very sad, and it's very much not our problem, is it?
Kevin: Even if he is my brother?
Jana: He's not.
Kevin: He might be.
Jana: Kevin, that man is a liar. He said himself that he's pretending all the time, right?
Kevin: When he was talking about being abused, how that changes you, that was real, okay? He has lived that. I know that. And if it wasn't with "Terrible Tom," then it was with somebody else.
Jana: Well, that is not your responsibility.
Kevin: I have to find out whether or not he's my brother, Jana.
Deacon: All right, I'm here. Are you satisfied?
Ryder: I just wanted to make sure, you know, you weren't off on some desert island with that chick.
Deacon: Hey, Ryder, we're in this together.
Ryder: No, you're not in here facing 25 to life.
Deacon: (Sighs) Well, you had to gain Kevin's trust.
Ryder: Well, I might have done exactly the opposite.
Deacon: No, not at all. No, no, no. He's being cautious, which you predicted. Now look, you played this guy perfectly. He's gonna come back, and when he does, all you gotta do is just keep working him. You just keep telling him your sad story, playing his sympathy, and you just beg him. You say, "Please, please, tell me about Tom Fisher's last days in Genoa City."
Ryder: You know, this would have been a whole lot easier if Tom had just told me where he hid the painting before he died.
Deacon: Yeah, well, if he would have done that, you would have lifted it out from under him.
(Chuckles)
Ryder: (Chuckles) True.
Deacon: Yeah. Listen, uh, it's gonna be a lot easier dealing with Kevin and his mom than Fisher. And one of them has to know where the Terroni is.
Ryder: Yeah, but this could take a while, right? I mean, are the buyers still gonna be interested?
Deacon: What, are you kidding me? We don't even have this thing yet, and there's a bidding war going on.
Ryder: (Chuckles) Man, if Tom had the kind of contacts you do--
Deacon: Yeah, well, if Tom had half a brain, he wouldn't have risked his life stealing something that he couldn't sell. Look, it takes years to build up relationships like this. Big-money clients aren't just gonna buy something from some clown off the street.
Ryder: You know, I-- I've heard this before.
Deacon: Well, you know, I just want to make sure that you don't make the same mistake that he did. You know, thinking that you could do this all by yourself.
Ryder: Same goes for you.
Deacon: Well, what am I gonna do? I'm gonna run an endgame on you? How's--how's that gonna work, huh? Kevin's gonna bare his soul to me? (Laughs) We're gonna-- we're gonna connect on some spiritual level? Hey, look at me. I know I need you, all right? You have to keep it together. We're almost to the finish line. Just hang in there.
Victoria: You know, you really have some nerve to just come out and say it like that.
Colleen: What am I gonna say, Victoria, huh? That I don't want your husband? Y-you'd know I'd be lying. It was obvious how I feel, okay? It was obvious to him. I laid it on the line. I said he could have whatever he wanted, and he shut me down cold.
Victoria: Yeah, because Abby was coming over, that's why.
Colleen: No, because he loves you, okay? Because he can't bear his life without you. Those were his exact words. Trust me. He said more than I ever wanted to hear, but you have nothing to worry about.
Victoria: Why are you telling me this?
Colleen: Because I want J.T. to be happy, okay? God knows why he still wants to be with you after the way you treat him, but--
Victoria: Whoa. "The way I treat him"?
Colleen: You act like he's an employee failing his performance review. You--you--you got your dad to bully him into resigning.
Victoria: J.T. didn't even want that job.
Colleen: Yeah, yeah, I know. Because he didn't want to spy on his friend. He didn't want to humiliate her in public. You know what that makes him, Victoria? A great guy.
Victoria: Or maybe he was just trying to hide a secret.
Colleen: Fine. If you want to believe that your smart, sexy, loyal husband is a sleazebag, then go right ahead, Victoria. Go right ahead. Trash your marriage.
Victoria: No, you-- you are trying to trash my marriage.
Colleen: You're doing a much better job of it than I ever could have, okay? Now would you please get the hell out of here? I'm gonna make dinner for Lily, someone whose problems are not all in her head.
Colleen: (Exhales)
(Cell phone rings)
J.T.: Hey, Colleen.
Colleen: Hey. Bad news.
J.T.: Why? What's up?
Colleen: Victoria has pictures of us kissing.
J.T.: What? Who took them?
Colleen: I have no idea. I am--I am so sorry.
J.T.: (Sighs) Did you tell her nothing happened?
Colleen: Yep, and why, but I don't think she believed me.
J.T.: All right, uh, I'll deal with it.
Mary Jane: Hopefully, Sharon will accept my invitation. (Chuckles) I just need to make a few points about Jack.
(Knock on door)
Mary Jane: (Sighs) (Clears throat) Oh, hi.
Woman: May I refill your minibar?
Mary Jane: Um, you know, that's okay. I haven't used it. Would you just wait one second? Would you deliver this to, uh, Sharon Abbott's room?
Woman: Mrs. Abbott checked out.
Mary Jane: Well, when? D-do you know where she went?
Woman: I don't know.
Mary Jane: Okay, well, thank you.
Jana: There's no way that Ryder is going to agree to taking a D.N.A. test.
Kevin: I need to do this.
Jana: (Sighs) You get so caught up in these things.
Kevin: Ryder can't hurt us. He's in jail.
Jana: Okay, yeah, but what about the people he works with, like Deacon? He's not in jail. Who knows what that man is capable of doing?
Kevin: Hi, Amber.
Jana: Oh.
Amber: Hi. Am I interrupting?
Kevin: No, nothing. You're not interrupting at all. I-in fact, I'm just leaving to go do something.
Jana: (Sighs) Well, I have wonderful news.
Amber: Daniel told me. Um, the charges against the two of you were dropped.
Jana: Why aren't you more excited?
Amber: Because, um, I had news for him, too.
Jana: (Gasps) No. Amber, you didn't.
Woman: Lily?
Lily: Yes.
Woman: Hi.
Lily: Hi.
Anita: I'm Anita.
Lily: Hi. Nice to meet you.
Anita: You can put your things down there, and we'll get you started.
Lily: Okay.
Anita: Dr. Winters wants us to take extra special care of you.
Neil: Yeah, Honey, um, Olivia's real sorry to be out of town right now. But I-it couldn't be helped.
Anita: She left something for you.
Lily: Oh, thank you. Ohh, Grandma and Grandpa sent me their old bible, the one they used to read to Mom. Oh, Olivia says that they're all praying for me, and that Mom is showering me with love and strength.
Neil: Sweetheart, you do know that your mother's watching down over you, right?
Paul: J.T., it's me. Listen, the woman I'm following is not Patty. It's Mary Jane Benson. She dyed her hair. She's staying in-- in Room 855.
Mary Jane: (Sighs) Oh!
Paul: Going somewhere, Mary Jane? Sit down, Mary Jane. You're not going anywhere.
Mary Jane: Let me-- okay, you know what?
Paul: Sit down.
Mary Jane: Please, just let me go. Please?
Paul: Too many people have been hurt. Now sit down right now.
Mary Jane: Look, you can--
Paul: I mean it, sit down.
Mary Jane: You can get me out of town. You can put me on a plane and--
Paul: You're not going anywhere.
Mary Jane: No.
Paul: You need to answer some questions. Now sit down.
Mary Jane: (Stammers) I don't want to hurt-- I don't want to hurt anyone.
Paul: Sit down! I don't care. You're not gonna hurt--
Mary Jane: (Yells) No! Aah!
Paul: Sit down! I mean it!
Mary Jane: (Whimpers)
Victoria: (Sighs)
Victoria: This is really not the time or the place, J.T.
J.T.: We've avoided this conversation long enough.
Victoria: No, you have. I didn't even know about you and Colleen.
J.T.: Come on. Colleen told you what it was. It was nothing.
Victoria: She's still in love with you.
J.T.: It doesn't matter what she wants or what your father wants.
Victoria: Don't drag him into this.
J.T.: No, he interjected himself. Those photos came from him, right?
Victoria: He had you followed because he thought you might lead him to Mary Jane. He didn't even know about Colleen, so don't try to blame this on him.
J.T.: (Sighs) I'm sorry, all right? I'm not blaming anybody else. That kiss shouldn't have happened, but it didn't go any further, and it's not the real problem. It's just a symptom. We're not connecting like we used to.
Victoria: Oh, here it comes. Here it comes.
J.T.: No, no. Don't get defensive, 'cause every time we talk about this, you get defensive.
Victoria: About what? What exactly is your problem?
J.T.: You're not-- you're not the same person, okay? You--you're emotional. You're irritable.
Victoria: Oh, what, now I'm not supposed to have emotion?
J.T.: You know what I'm talking about.
Victoria: Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Yeah, it's the same story that you sold Colleen. "My wife doesn't understand me. My wife is so hard on me."
J.T.: I told Colleen I love you. I told her that I want to work things out. (Sighs) I told her about seeing you in that hospital bed laying there, how scared I was to lose you. I feel like I did lose you. Ever since then, you-- (sighs) You haven't been the same person.
Victoria: Oh, all right. So it's me, then? It's all me. This is my problem.
J.T.: You know what I'm talking about. You know--
Victoria: Fine. That's just fine. The reason you're running around making out with your ex-girlfriends and God knows what else? Okay, that's fine.
J.T.: It's not what I mean.
Victoria: What the hell do you mean then?! What do you want? You want me to say it's my fault? Fine! It's my fault.
J.T.: (Sighs)
(Door slams)
J.T.: (Sighs)
Anita: Go ahead and get comfortable. We're just waiting for your drugs to get here. It should be any second.
Lily: Okay, thanks. (Sighs) I don't want to sit down yet.
Cane: Come here. Come here. Lean on me instead. Come here.
Devon: Wow, this is pretty plush.
Lily: Yeah, they were actually a gift from Katherine and Murphy. Isn't that sweet?
Neil: Everyone loves you, and they're wishing you the best, Sweetheart.
Devon: Hey, what do you say we set up the DVD player?
Neil: Hey, that's a good idea.
Devon: Yeah?
Neil: Yep.
Devon: Do you want, uh, do you want Roxanne’s movie first?
Lily: Uh, I don't think that I should be cracking up in here.
Neil: (Whispers) She's probably right.
Man: I haven't seen you here before. I'd remember a face that pretty.
Lily: (Chuckles) it's my first time.
Man: Ah. My second session on my second time around. It'll either cure me or kill me. But if I go down, I go down fighting. Harry gold, by the way.
Lily: Hi, um, I'm Lily Ashby. This is my husband Cane, my, uh, my dad Neil, and my brother Devon.
Cane: It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Gold.
Anita: You better call him by his first name, or he'll be very offended.
Cane: Sorry.
Anita: Isn't that right, Harry?
Harry: You listen to her. She's one smart cookie.
Cane: (Chuckles)
Anita: We're all set, Lily. Ready to get started?
Colleen: So who took the pictures?
J.T.: Victor had me followed.
Colleen: Are-- are you kidding me?
J.T.: Well, he wasn't doing it to dig up dirt. He thought I would lead him to Mary Jane.
Colleen: And now he thinks you're cheating on his daughter. Oh, J.T., I'm so sorry.
J.T.: No, I don't give a rat's ass what Victor thinks. If Victoria and I were solid, this wouldn't even matter.
Colleen: She's still angry?
J.T.: (Sighs) Yeah. Yeah, I mean, those pictures had to be a shock, especially after what your dad pulled when-- when they were married.
Colleen: Oh, come on. Don't make excuses for her.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Colleen: (Scoffs)
J.T.: Well, you think I'm making excuses for her. She thinks I'm making them for myself.
Colleen: No. I'm serious. She knows for a fact that you left here before anything happened, okay? She knows she's been treating you like crap. I said that the kiss was all me.
J.T.: Thanks.
Colleen: So what is her problem?
J.T.: She doesn't trust me anymore, you know? But that was true before the pictures.
Colleen: Why? Was there something else that you did that I don't know about?
J.T.: Yeah, I stood up to her dad. I stood up for you.
Colleen: So she'd just rather have a wimp that does whatever she says?
J.T.: That's never what she wanted before.
Colleen: J.T., I told her what you said to me about how much you love her and want to be with her.
J.T.: Yeah, so did I.
(Sighs)
Colleen: So what did she say?
J.T.: Didn't make a difference.
Colleen: (Scoffs) She's unbelievable. I mean, she has what millions of women want, and--
J.T.: I don't know about millions.
Colleen: Well, at least one. (Sighs) Look, J.T., she doesn't appreciate you. She doesn't deserve to be with you.
Ryder: I didn't expect to see you again. This a cop?
Kevin: Nope. This is Pete. Pete works at a lab, and I hired him to do a D.N.A. test.
Ryder: You really think we might be brothers?
Kevin: Well, that's what I'm here to find out. Are you up for that?
Ryder: Absolutely. There's so much my dad never told me about his life. I've got tons of questions. Maybe you can help me answer them.
Paul: Now you just sit down and relax, okay?
Mary Jane: (Breathing heavily)
Paul: Don't move.
Mary Jane: No, no, no, no. Don't. Don't you--don't. Don't. Please. Please.
Paul: Mary Jane, I mean it. Don't move! I am not kidding.
Mary Jane: I'm your sister.
Jana: Amber, you don't have to go through with this wedding, all right? Deacon is bluffing when he says that he can put Daniel in jail.
Amber: Every time Deacon said he was gonna do something, he has followed through. The last time I rejected him, he planted the forged painting in our apartment.
Jana: Okay, but you know what? He can't--he can't frame Daniel for murder anymore, because this Ryder person, he's already confessed.
Amber: Yeah, because Deacon made him.
Jana: Are you're sure about that?
Amber: Deacon said he knew who the third guy in the alley was, and he could get him to come forward.
Jana: How?
Amber: I don't know. But all I know is Daniel shows up and tells me that the charges against him have been dropped, and now Deacon wants me to hold up my end of the deal.
Jana: Oh, God. Okay, listen. You have to stall him, okay? You need to stall him for as long as you can until you can find out what this hold is that he's got on Ryder.
Amber: He wants us to get married in a couple days.
Jana: Oh, my God. Really? Oh, God, Daniel must be losing his mind.
Amber: Daniel does not know anything about this, and you can't tell him.
Jana: No. Why not?
Amber: Because he'll do something stupid and crazy, and he'll make Deacon mad and he'll end up in jail again.
Jana: (Sighs) You know, I'm still not convinced that Deacon can even do that.
Amber: I am. I'm not gambling with Daniel's future.
Jana: But you're willing to sacrifice your own?
Amber: Either I'm with Deacon, or Daniel ends up in prison. At least this way, he can be happy, and he can move on with his life with someone else.
Jana: (Sighs)
Amber: I gotta go.
Jana: No, Amber. Come on. Wait.
(Sighs)
Jana: Daniel, I need to talk to you. This is an emergency.
J.T.: Look, this-- this thing means something to me.
Colleen: It shouldn't mean that you have to be Victoria's whipping boy.
J.T.: Look, you--you can't blame her for getting upset. You know, I'd be more worried if she hadn't. Look, if I'd seen those pictures, something like that-- Victoria kissing another guy, I would--I would have reacted a hell of a lot worse.
Colleen: Well, if you ever need someone to talk to...
J.T.: Yeah, it's probably not a good idea right now, you and me spending time together.
Colleen: (Sighs) So we can't even be friends?
J.T.: Look, you know how I feel about you. I'm sorry, but Reed and Victoria-- they gotta come first.
Colleen: If you could just be a jerk instead of being... (Sighs) Such a great guy all the time, it would be a lot easier on me.
J.T.: (Chuckles) Yeah, I'll--I'll work on that.
Colleen: Just get the hell outta here, okay?
J.T.: See you later.
Colleen: (Sighs)
Anita: That hurt?
Lily: Uh, it's not too bad.
Cane: That's because she is a pro, right?
Anita: Not my first time around.
(Chuckles)
Lily: Must be really depressing working here.
Anita: Mm, I'm honored to be here. I've been witness to some incredible bravery, not only from the patients. (Pager beeps) Oh, Harry? Your cab's downstairs.
Harry: Hang in there, kid. See you next time.
Lily: Thank you, Harry. Take care.
Harry: Sure.
Lily: A cab?
Anita: His wife and most of his friends are gone. His kids live out of state. Well, here we go.
Mary Jane: (Grunts) Just stop. Stop.
Paul: No, that's very clever, but I told you I had a sister that time we had lunch together.
Mary Jane: Paul.
Paul: No.
Mary Jane: No, look at me. Look at me. It's Patty.
Paul: No.
Mary Jane: I had surgery so no one would recognize me. (Sniffles) I wanted a new start, but I couldn't fool you.
[Paul remembering]
Paul: Hi, um, I'm Paul Williams. Do I know you?
Mary Jane: (Breathing heavily) See? You knew all along.
Paul: No. My sister Patty would not send a kid to the hospital. She would not put a-a child in a coma.
Mary Jane: I didn't want to hurt her. I didn't. I thought Summer was gonna have just a tiny, little allergic reaction. I never wanted to hurt her. (Sniffles) I have been so scared, Paul.
Paul: Shut up.
Mary Jane: No, Paul, it's me.
Paul: Shut up!
Mary Jane: Paul, I have been very scared, and n-nobody to help me.
Paul: Stop it. Put the knife down. I mean it. Put the knife down right now!
Mary Jane: Would you listen to me?!
Paul: Put the knife down!
Mary Jane: Listen to me! Remember when we were little, and you used to sing me that song about the fairy ship? (Sobs) Remember? (Sobbing) (Sniffles)
Paul: No.
Mary Jane: And it was deeply laden with pretty things for me there were raisins in the cabin and apples in the hold.
[Paul remembering]
Young Paul: The sails were made of silk and the mast it was of gold you don't have to be afraid, "Pattycake." I'd never let anything hurt you.
Mary Jane: Paul. Come-- it's me. It's your Pattycake.
Paul: Oh, my God, no! (Sobs) No! Oh, my God! (Sobbing)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Jack: Do you honestly think for one moment I want you to be in an institution?
Ashley: Yes, I do.
Sharon: You thought maybe you'd find Nick here. Or you came to gloat, or both.
Adam: I will not let that happen.
