Jack: Want to hear a joke?

Billy: Do I have a choice?

Jack: Okay, so there's this-- this guy Jack who's played for a total sap, but he mistakes it for actual, t-true love. Funny, huh?

Billy: Okay. It is time to go home.

Jack: Oh, nobody there.

Billy: Let's--

Jack: Nobody home.

Billy: Come on, big fellow. Come on. You're gonna feel a lot better.

Jack: No, I'm not.

Billy: Well, no. No, you're not. But at least you'll feel rotten in a big, comfy bed, okay?

Jack: (Moans)

Billy: Uh... I'll be back. Whoops. Come on. Whoops. Whoops. Come on.

Mac: Okay, we're gonna have to order another case of scotch.

Man: (Sighs)

Kay: Uh, say, Miss, what does a lady have to do to get a club soda around here?

Mac: (Chuckles) Hi, Grandma.

Kay: Hello.

Mac: I thought you were meeting with Nikki.

Kay: I am, in just a few minutes.

Mac: Wedding plans coming along?

Kay: Uh, uh, it's almost finished. You know, Nikki has kept things simple.

Mac: That's not her usual style.

Kay: Well, she's changed a lot in the past few years.

Mac: I guess so. Just the fact that she's marrying someone other than Victor. I always thought they'd be together.

Kay: Well, you're not the only one.

Nikki: Okay. Oh, Todd-- have you talked to Todd lately? He's still coming?

Paul: Oh, yeah. I wish he could perform the ceremony. But as long as I get you in the end, that's all that counts.

Nikki: I love your smile.

Paul: (Chuckles) Good, because you're gonna be seeing a lot more of it, especially 48 hours from now when you become my wife.

Nikki: Well, I'm sorry to cut this short, but I don't want to miss Katherine.

Paul: Yeah. I'll pick up the tux. Can you get the rings?

Nikki: Um...

Paul: Well, if you can't, I will.

Nikki: Let's-- let's just touch base later, okay?

Paul: Okay. Hey. Love you.

Nikki: You, too.

Lauren: Sweetheart, I am sure you got through to the D.A. In fact, I bet he's gonna call you any minute to tell you that he's dropping the charges.

Michael: Well, I hope to God you're right, not just for Daniel's sake, but Phyllis'.

Lauren: And Amber's.

Michael: No matter how this turns out, he is still gonna have an issue with Amber's tactics.

Lauren: Daniel is just gonna have to cut her some slack. She made an enormous sacrifice for him.

Michael: Oh, well, he doesn't exactly see it that way. He sees it as a betrayal.

Daniel: Sorry. I, uh, thought you--

Amber: That-- that I'd be gone. Um, almost.

Daniel: Do you need a hand?

Amber: I got it.

Daniel: Okay.

Amber: (Cries)

Daniel: Hey, wait.

(Telephone rings)

Chloe: Hello? Uh, oh, yeah. He's right here. Hold on a second.

Chance: Here you go. The perfect bottle.

Chloe: Ahh. Switch.

Chance: Oh. Hello? Yes. (Chuckles) Um, I'd love to. Yes. That's all right. Sure. I'll see you then. Thank you.

(Chuckles)

Chloe: Well, it had to happen sooner or later, right?

Chance: Huh? What's that?

Chloe: You getting a life. Getting hit on. Whoo-hoo! I'm all for it, all for it.

Chance: I'm sure you are, but she was not hitting on me.

Chloe: Okay, okay. It's not my business.

Chance: Mm-hmm. Well, I'd like to tell you, if you do have a minute.

Chloe: Uh, yeah, sure. Uh, well, I'm waiting on Billy, but I'm sure that will take hours. (Chuckles)

Billy: Easy, big fellow.

Jack: (Slurring words) Are we there?

Billy: Easy, easy, easy. Yeah, here. Right here. There you go. Whoops! Good Lord. Oh, man. So this is what it's like to be the responsible one, huh? Is that it? I don't think—

(Cell phone chimes)

Billy: Man. Oh, Delia. Um... (Groans) Jack, you'll be all right. Good night, Jack.

Jack: Billy.

(Groans)

[Jack sees a foggy figure]

Jack: Sh-- Sharon?

Daniel: My key.

Amber: Oh, um, right. Uh... I can't believe we're breaking up over this for something that I did to protect you.

Daniel: You're just not getting it, Amber. This isn't because you slept with Deacon.

Amber: Then why?

Daniel: I just can't handle it anymore.

Kay: Well, tell me, um, have you seen much of Billy lately? Well, I understand he spends a lot of time here.

Mac: I wouldn't say a lot of time.

Kay: But he was here tonight. I mean, that was him that I saw in the parking lot.

Mac: He left before my shift started.

Kay: Mm. Uh, you got a package the other day. I signed for it. Um, it's, uh, from an RV sup-- supply store.

Mac: Oh, that was just something for the shelter.

Kay: Well, you know, Billy did buy Murphy's trailer. Oh, well, I thought maybe you'd heard. Just--

Mac: Why don't you just ask me what you want to ask me?

Kay: I think I already know the answer.

Mac: Billy and Chloe are separated.

Kay: And he's still married with a child. Now I am hardly the one to judge, and I can live with whatever makes you happy. I'm just wondering, can you?

Chloe: No Chancellor in the history of Chancellor-dom...

Chance: (Chuckles)

Chloe: Has ever interviewed to be a cop.

Chance: Detective.

Chloe: Whatever. Seriously? Really?

Chance: Yeah. Yeah. I was military police in the army, and I was very good at it.

Chloe: Well, it might come in handy, you know? The family could use a cop-- a detective.

Chance: Thank you.

Chloe: What we really need is a truant officer to look after my husband when he's playing hooky because he is about... yeah, 20 minutes late. He's supposed to visit Delia. And I know what you're thinking. (Scoffs) You're thinking what a fool I am to put up with it.

Chance: Not you. It's Billy that I don't get. When you have a sweet, beautiful girl here waiting for you, why would you want to spend a minute anywhere else?

Chloe: (Scoffs)

Jill: Where's Billy?

Chloe: What'd he do now?

Jill: He threw me to the wolves, that's what.

Billy: Oh, I was just returning the favor, Mom.

Daniel: See, this is your pattern, Amber. You just hide things from me.

Amber: That was ancient history. He didn't ever mean anything to me.

Daniel: Yeah. What about this kid that you raised, his kid? And what about your criminal record?

Amber: I can explain all of that.

Daniel: I'm--I'm sure you can explain it. And you should have explained it. I mean, you're sitting here, and you're pressuring me to get married to you, and I don't even know who you really are. And were you ever even planning on telling me, ever?

Amber: I was. I was, okay? I tried. It's just its really hard for me, because I have been rejected, and I know how bad that hurts.

Daniel: Well...

Amber: It just takes longer for me than most people to really trust someone.

Daniel: Just like it took me longer than it should have to realize that I can't trust you.

Amber: (Sighs)

Amber: (Crying)

Amber: (Sobs)

Kay: You know, having a-an affair with a married man, it just seems so out of character.

Mac: I wish you wouldn't look so worried. It's all gonna work out.

Kay: I hope so.

Mac: You feel bad for Chloe. So do I. But she went into this marriage knowing that Billy didn't really love her.

Kay: Chloe will always land on her own feet. She's not the one I'm concerned about.

Mac: Delia.

Kay: Mackenzie, you. You.

Mac: But I told you, I'm doing--

Kay: So happy, yes. Yes, I--deliriously happy, I know. But true happiness, Mackenzie, can only come from living according to your own values, and you have always had a strong sense of what is right and wrong.

Mac: Maybe too strong.

Kay: Well, we all make accommodations for those we love, sacrifices. And that's fine. Just make sure you don't sacrifice yourself.

Chloe: (Whispering) Did she fall asleep?

Billy: Yeah, just a few minutes ago, your mom said.

Chloe: Good.

Jill: Billy, do you even realize what you've done?

Billy: Just let a few people know what you did. That's all, Mom.

Jill: Victor Newman wants my head.

Chloe: (Normal voice) What happened?

Billy: Oh, Victor made her make me Jabot's C.E.O. He was the secret partner, and she didn't want to do it.

Jill: I trusted you with that information.

Billy: Oh, I-I trusted Ashley-- oh, and the Newman board and just a few members of the press, that's all.

Chloe: (Sighs) Oh, boy.

Jill: Well, if you wanted to make me suffer, you succeeded. I'm sure Victor will see to it that I never work again.

Billy: Well, you can always go back to painting nails. I've got an idea, though. You can always go back to doing what you do best. I'm sure even in a recession, there's a lot of lonely, old wealthy men just looking for some company.

Jill: Oh, my God. You really hate me, don't you?

Billy: Hmm.

[Mary Jane sits next to Jack, who laying on the couch and kisses him]

Jack: Sharon. (Groans) Oh. Oh, that perfume. I would know that smell anywhere. Oh, Sharon. Don't. Don't stop. You're here because you want to be here. Don't stop. Mm.

Lauren: What, no bachelor party?

Paul: (Laughs) Hi.

Lauren: Hi. Ohh.

Paul: Well, what's the point if I can't have you jumping out of the cake?

Lauren: Oh, well, excuse me. And who says you couldn't? You know, for old time's sake?

Paul: (Laughs)

Lauren: (Laughs) Do you know how happy I am for you?

Paul: Thank you.

Lauren: And does Nikki realize what a lucky woman she is?

Paul: Well, I remind her every hour on the hour.

Lauren: Good. And how did Victor take the engagement?

Paul: He wished us well. But it, um, it was kind of weird. It was almost as though he was giving us his blessing.

Lauren: Oh, jeez. Victor-- I mean, what, is he letting go while he's claiming her at the same time?

Paul: He's all right. He's a good guy. It doesn't bother me.

Lauren: You know what? It's Nikki's feelings that matter.

Paul: Well, they will always have that, um, that connection, and Victor will always be the great love of her life.

Lauren: He will? Paul.

Paul: Look, we've talked about this before. They... (Sighs) It doesn't make sense. Their relationship is destructive and-- and painful. And now she is ready for something more, something better, and she's got it with me.

Kay: Oh, all right. I'm here. What's left for me to do?

Nikki: There's nothing for you to do.

Kay: Oh, my God. You haven't called off the wedding?

Nikki: Oh, my God. No, Katherine. Why would you say such a thing?

Kay: You look so sad.

Nikki: No, no. I-I'm just preoccupied.

Kay: Mm-hmm. You thinking about Victor?

Nikki: I saw Ashley earlier, and she...

Kay: Oh.

Nikki: Didn't seem herself at all.

Kay: Mm.

Nikki: I talked to Victor about it, but he didn't seem to want to, and I'm debating whether to approach him again about it, but he'll probably just think I'm trying to start trouble. And, yes, I know this is not what I should be talking about two days before I get married.

Kay: So why are you?

Nikki: Katherine, I am ecstatic to be marrying Paul.

Kay: It was only a year ago that you called me from Mexico declaring this eternal love for Victor.

Nikki: (Sighs) I was drunk out of my mind. I was grieving.

Kay: (Stammers) You just wouldn't let go of him.

Nikki: You found a good man who loves you. Don't you want that for me?

Kay: Darling, of course I want that for you. But let me tell you something. Would I be happy with-- with Murphy if I were still in love with another man? Good heavens. That wouldn't be fair to Murphy.

Nikki: That's not what I'm doing. I love one man and one man only, and the day after tomorrow, I'm gonna marry him. And I was hoping that you would be my matron of honor, but if you don't want to stand with me--

Kay: Stop it. You know I will always stand up with you.

Jana: What? You're staring.

Kevin: I was just thinking that you never answered Daniel's question.

Jana: What question?

Kevin: Whether or not you would do what Amber did-- sleep with somebody else to get me off the hook for something.

Jana: Well, it would depend on what you'd done. And what about you? Would you forgive me? You said that Daniel should.

Kevin: Honestly, I don't know that I could.

(Footsteps approach)

Jana: Oh, no.

Kevin: (Exhales deeply)

Jana: Oh.

Amber: (Sniffles) He couldn't get past it.

Jana: Oh, my dear, you've just-- you've just got to give him more time, that's all.

Kevin: Yeah, he just needs to get that image out of his head, you know? You and that other guy.

Amber: No, that wasn't it. It was all the stuff I didn't tell him. He said that he couldn't trust me.

Jana: Oh, God. Look, come home with us.

Amber: I'm just gonna crash here in the back room.

Jana: Oh, God. Nonsense.

Amber: I don't want to be any trouble. You know, I could always just call Mrs. C. and--

Kevin: Oh, yeah. Go live with Jill. That'd be a hoot. Come on.

Jana: Yeah, I'm-- I'm sure that Daniel will come around. I'm sure of it. And in the meantime, we'll have some fun, you know? Like, um, slumber party, yeah?

Amber: (Laughs)

Kevin: Yeah.

Amber: (Sniffles)

Michael: The D.A.'s going forward with your case.

Daniel: They're gonna use that DVD of Balfour admitting that he set me up, aren't they? To prove that I had motive for killing the guy.

Michael: And I'm going to use it to establish reasonable doubt. Amber's not here?

Daniel: (Sighs) No. No, she, uh, doesn't live here anymore.

Billy: Thank you.

Jill: So you're leaving.

Billy: Well, Mom, as much as I would like to spend my evening listening to your rant, I--

Jill: No, no, no, no, no, no. Leave. Leave. It's what you've done your whole life-- run from responsibility.

Billy: See, uh, I didn't run from anything. I was sent away to nannies, to boarding school. But you know this.

Jill: Billy, whether you believe it or not, I was trying my best.

Billy: Well, whether you know it or not, your best sucks.

Chance: That's enough. Billy, you don't talk to your mom that way.

Billy: Oh, really? Buddy boy, you are a little bit outside of your loop, but, hey, I'll bite. Let me ask you a question. My mother's business partner used me as a pawn, and she let him do it. What should I say to her about that, huh?

Chance: Well, for starters, I think you should apologize.

Billy: Yeah. (Chuckles) Hmm.

Jack: (Sighs) (Groans) (Groans) (Sighs)

Jack: (Sighs)

Jack: No, I couldn't have dreamed all that. Sharon?

Jack: "I knew you were still in love with me."

[Jack picks up a cat’s tail]

[Jack remembers]

Jack: Is that cat dead?

Mary Jane: No, it's alive.

Jack: (Sighs)

Mary Jane: Oh, hey.

Mac: Hey. I was starting to worry about you.

Mary Jane: Oh, no, no. There's nothing to worry about.

Mac: You look great.

Mary Jane: Thank you. Thank you. I-I reconciled with my husband.

Mac: I-I thought you were afraid of him.

Mary Jane: No, he's really-- he's really a sweetheart. Um, he would never lay a hand on me... at least not in anger. So I'm just gonna get the rest of my things and, uh, be out of your way, okay?

Mac: Okay.

Mary Jane: (Humming)

Mac: Hey, Billy, it's me. I thought you'd be back by now, but--but that's fine. Um, something-- something a little weird just happened with that homeless woman that I told you about. But, uh, I'll give you the details when you get here. Okay. Bye.

Jill: Honey, thank you. But I discovered a long time ago that apologies, they really don't work when wounds are this deep.

Billy: Oh, you're talking about your wounds, right?

Jill: And yours. What, am I wrong? Would you feel better if I said I was sorry? Because the fact is, I am, Billy. I am really sorry. I am really sorry I raised you that way. I'm sorry that you felt alone and unwanted. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Jill: So you feel better? All that anger and resentment, it just washed away? Or are you still clinging to it like a damn security blanket? You know, I would give anything to put this behind us, but I'm beginning to think that you don't want that, do you? 'Cause then, you wouldn't have any excuse for all your failures.

Chloe: Okay, stop. Stop, please. Just stop.

Billy: (Clears throat) Mm-hmm.

Cordelia: (Cries)

Chloe: Shh. Shh.

Billy: Ay. Yeah, you and me both, "Kid Rock."

Chloe: Uh, where's her bottle? Can you--its right over there.

Chance: Yeah, I got it right here.

Billy: Oh, no, you have done quite enough today. Thank you, nephew.

Chloe: Knock it off, Billy. It's not Chance's fault.

Billy: Well, he's the one who interjected himself, God knows why.

Chloe: Because she's throw Delia over for some slime ball con artist who says that he's your kid? Are you? Because that's what my mom did, and I'm not gonna forgive her for it.

Kay: Oh, well, you may want to rethink that, Billy. Believe me, you'll live to regret it.

Daniel: If I knew where to find that bastard Deacon--

Michael: You know what, Daniel? I've got enough on my plate. Could we please not add assault and battery to your rap sheet?

Daniel: You know he knows more than he's telling.

Michael: Undoubtedly, but if there's any lesson to be learned by this, it's that you don't go up against Deacon Sharpe by yourself. It's a bad idea. Listen to me. Daniel, I am sure Amber regrets having slept with the man.

Daniel: (Sighs) You know, Michael, she's been lying to me for a long time. That's the reason we broke up.

Jana: Oh, come on, Amber. You know Daniel loves you.

Amber: (Crying) Well, it doesn't matter if he can't trust me. It's all my fault.

Jana: (Clicks tongue)

Kevin: Why don't you go back to our place? You don't have to wait for us.

Jana: Yeah, good idea. You can take a nice long, hot bubble bath, hmm?

Kevin: Yeah, let me get you the key. Hey.

Lauren: Hi. Good to see you.

Kevin: How's it going?

Lauren: Can I get my regular tea?

Kevin: Yes.

Lauren: That'd be perfect.

Amber: Oh, uh, I need to talk to her. (Sniffles) Hey.

Lauren: Oh, Sweetheart.

Amber: Hi.

Lauren: How you doing?

Amber: Oh, good. Um, look, about-- about the jackets...

Lauren: Yeah. When can I get them?

Amber: Um, well, I'm-- I'm kind of in the process of moving right now, so--

Lauren: I'm so sorry.

Amber: I know. I know.

Lauren: I'm so sorry, Sweetie.

Amber: Thank you. So, um, I'm gonna be crashing with Kevin and-- and Jana for a little bit, but I'm--I'm just not sure when I can get the jackets done 'cause I really don't have, like, a design space right now.

Lauren: You know what? I might be able to help you with that.

Billy: Okay, everybody, settle in. The "I heart Jill fan club" is now in session.

Kay: Oh, for heaven sakes, stop sulking. I read the article, and I know how upset you are with your mother.

Billy: Then why are you on my case?

Kay: Because you're the only one who stands to suffer if you don't get rid of this resentment. Let it go. How does it hurt Jill? It doesn't. And if you don't let it go, it's going to eat you alive inside out. I've already seen it coming, and it's a damn shame. No. (Stammers) Do you know how many people love you? Do you know how much you have to be grateful for?

Billy: (Chuckles) You know, I really can't believe this is coming from you of all people. You--your feud with my mother is older than I am.

Kay: Who better to tell you that it's a waste of time, hmm?

Billy: (Sighs)

Kay: I love you, Billy. I don't want you to ever have the regrets that I do. (Sighs) Believe me... (Pats Billy's lap) I do have your best interests at heart.

Billy: Well, at least somebody does.

Chloe: A lot of people do.

Billy: (Clears throat)

Chloe: Oh, Dee.

Billy: All right, look, uh, I'm not gonna have her out too late.

Chloe: Okay.

Billy: Okay.

Kay: Mm-hmm.

Billy: Good-bye.

Kay: Bye-bye.

Billy: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Kay: Uh, good night, you two. I think I'm-- okay?

(Kisses Chloe)

Chance: (Sighs)

Chloe: Well, I think you're ready for your interview. Your first domestic disturbance. (Sighs)

Chance: I shouldn't have interfered with that.

Chloe: Why? Let us have all the fun? What?

Chance: Fun? Fun? Chloe, that was not fun for you.

Chloe: Billy breaks my heart. (Chuckles) But I know what a great guy he is down-- down deep inside. But I don't expect you to understand that, because you guys are complete opposites.

Chance: Opposites?

Chloe: You're like, uh, "Mr. Law and order," and he's bending all the rules like he's making balloon animals. (Sighs) You know, I wonder what kind of life he would have had, had he been raised like you did, you know? And I think that's how he feels when he looks at you. You know, I think he sees what he could have been.

Chance: I hope not. That'd be really sad.

Chloe: You know, good for you. Good for you. And good for the girl who snatches you up. I mean, seriously, I'm already jealous. (Chuckles) Come come here. Mm.

[Daniel picks up the jacket Amber made him]

Daniel: (Sighs)

[Daniel remembering]

Daniel: Did you make this?

Amber: Yeah.

Daniel: Oh, my God.

Amber: (Laughs)

Daniel: This is-- thank you. Thank you.

Amber: (Giggles)

Daniel: This is--mm. Great. Mm. A great present.

Amber: Mm. Yeah.

Daniel: Mm-hmm. Mm.

[Daniel puts jacket in a box]

Lauren: Well, okay. Michael's fine with it.

Amber: (Sighs) Are you sure?

Lauren: Yeah.

Amber: You know, I feel funny taking over his home office.

Lauren: Oh, Honey, he never uses it, and we need to get you back to work and get those jackets in my store.

Amber: (Laughs)

Lauren: Not that they stay there that long.

Amber: (Chuckles) Yeah, I guess it'll be good to have something to focus on, you know?

Lauren: Oh, Sweetie, come here. We've all been there.

Amber: Yeah, thank you. (Sniffles)

Lauren: Of course. I'm here if you need me, okay?

Amber: Okay.

Lauren: All right. Talk to you later.

Amber: Bye. (Sniffles)

Lauren: Oh, somehow, it'll all get done.

Nikki: Oh, hi, Lauren.

Lauren: Are you excited for the big day?

Nikki: Yes. Yes, of course. I'm just, uh, caught up in all the details.

Lauren: (Laughs) Yeah. Well, you just have to think big picture and what Paul's gonna bring to your life.

Nikki: You're right. That puts everything in perspective.

Lauren: Well, you know, I wish you two the best.

Nikki: Thank you.

Lauren: Bye.

Nikki: Oh, good. You're still open. Um, this is Nikki Newman. I wanted to stop by and pick up my wedding rings. Okay. Thanks. Bye.

Paul: Come on. I'm not too busy to pick up my own brother at the airport. No, I-- well-- okay, okay. Yeah, you win. No, she hasn't returned my calls, either, and the e-mail a-address I have for patty doesn't, uh, it doesn't work. Yeah, I know. There are a lot of bad memories for her. May--may--maybe-- maybe she's just trying to avoid Genoa City altogether. Yeah, well, I—

(Call waiting beeps)

Paul: Um, uh, let me call you back. I gotta take this. Okay. Paul Williams.

Jack: Paul, Jack Abbott.

Paul: Hey, Jack, what's up?

Jack: (Sighs) You wouldn't believe it if I told you, Paul.

Mac: So tell me more about your husband.

(Door opens)

Mary Jane: Oh, uh, isn't that your boyfriend?

Mac: Excuse me.

Billy: I'll just set you here.

Mac: Hi, cutie.

Billy: Hey.

Mac: I didn't expect to see you tonight.

Billy: Yeah, it's my night. I forgot. I'm sorry.

Mac: You know, this isn't exactly the place for father-daugh-- daughter bonding.

Billy: I know, okay? But I got your message, and what's the weird thing with the homeless woman, hmm?

Mac: Shh. No, no, no. She's right-- oh, she left.

Billy: Hmm.

Mac: I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Do you want to have lunch?

Billy: Mm. Yeah. How about the trailer?

Mac: Billy.

Billy: I just-- I haven't had a Chance to tell Chloe yet, okay?

Mac: (Sighs) Grandma knows.

Billy: Did you tell her?

Mac: No, she guessed. People are gonna start figuring it out.

Billy: All right, fine. I just-- I need just a little more time to lay the groundwork, that's all. Hey. Look, if Chloe freaks out, she could run off with Delia. You don't know her like I do. I mean, she's a little-- frankly, she's obsessed with me, you know?

Chloe: (Chuckles)

Chance: Eyelash. Make a wish.

Chloe: (Blows eyelash)

Chance: What'd you wish for?

Chloe: I'll never tell. Ha.

Chance: (Chuckles)

Jill: Is the coast clear?

Chance: What's that?

Jill: Are you okay, Honey?

Chance: I am... great. I'm great. Come here.

Jill: Oh, thank you.

Chance: Good night.

Jill: Good night. (Sighs)

Kay: Oh, good. You're back.

Jill: Yeah, of course I'm back. (Chuckles) I live here.

Kay: I spoke to Billy.

Jill: Well, how wonderful. Just what he needed, another 101 reasons to hate his mother.

Kay: Well, I told him to forgive you. Anger, hatred-- they're poisonous, toxic.

Jill: Did he fall down laughing? I mean, coming from a woman who's made it her life's work to tear me down?

Kay: Is there anything more sad? All that time wasted... wasted opportunities to do something positive and joyous with my life. Who knows what I would have accomplished had I just, uh, stopped blaming you long enough to face the truth? That my marriage to Phillip was never that strong. It didn't sustain me or nourish me the way a relationship should. Not in the same way that old Murph does. And looking back, I have to wonder if I ever loved Phillip as much as I hated you for taking him from me.

Jill: I can't believe that you're saying this.

Kay: Well, it's long overdue.

Jill: All these years, you've beat it into my head that I was a despicable, lowlife tramp who ruined your life because I stole the man of your dreams, that it was my selfish, disgusting actions that took from you everything that was meaningful in your life, and now I find out it wasn't even that meaningful, that you never gave a damn about him?

Kay: Now that's not true. That's not true.

Jill: No, no, no. All right. As a trophy, as a possession, but not as a husband, not as a lover, not as a friend. I freed him from that. I freed both of you, and year after year, you punished me. You shamed me.

Kay: Well, I just thought it would help you to know that I am not--

Jill: Help me? Oh, my God. Of all the cruelties, of all the humiliations that I've suffered at your hands, you telling me this now-- you admitting that all of this has been for nothing... (Sighs) That's the cruelest of all. That's the cruelest of all.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Victor: Paul is a very good man. He loves you far more than you love him.

Jack: It's her dead cat's tail. This woman is deranged.

Nikki: I can't wait to take the final steps of that journey down the aisle tomorrow.
