Kevin: What’s wrong?
Daniel: (Sighs) Don't ask.
Jana: God, I wish I could give you a hug, but I think "Smiley" over there might object.
Kevin: It sucks that you're in here again. I mean, how can the authorities not see that this was a setup?
Jana: You know, we tried getting in touch with Amber to see if she wanted to get a ride over here with us.
Daniel: No, no, it's okay. She stopped by here earlier.
Kevin: Oh, good.
Daniel: Not really. You know what? I hope I never see that girl's face again.
Deacon: (Chuckles) Are you back for more?
Amber: I am here to tell you what a disgusting, perverted creep you are.
Deacon: Me?
Amber: Yes, it's bad enough you forcing me into your bed, but leaving the phone off for Daniel to hear? I mean, that's just cruel.
Deacon: I'm sorry, Cupcake. My bad.
Amber: What, you-- you think this is a joke? Breaking my boyfriend's heart was not part of our arrangement, Deacon.
Deacon: Aw, whatever. He'll live.
Amber: So are you really gonna send the D.A. the DVD that exonerates Daniel? Or was this all one big con, huh?
Howard: Romalotti's got no idea how screwed he is. It's almost too easy setting him up. It's like there's no challenge to it, you know? He believed every word I said about being a fed and wanting him to paint that forgery. What an idiot.
Heather: What do you think?
Michael: Looks legit.
Heather: Except there's no way to prove it-- the man's dead.
Michael: It's enough to get Daniel out of lockup.
Heather: Maybe.
Michael: (Chuckles) Come on, Heather. Your secret's out. There is a heart beating in that chest of yours.
Heather: What's that supposed to mean?
Michael: You were almost human when you admitted that my brother wasn't a monster. You didn't take a hard line on Daniel's bail. Why not go for the Trifecta and get him released from jail?
Victor: Careful. Careful.
Ashley: Okay. Okay. Ooh.
Victor: Step. There we go. Keep your eyes closed.
Ashley: What did you get me?
Victor: Well, you'll see.
Ashley: Uh, is this some holiday I've forgotten about? It's not my birthday. We've only been married a few days, so it can't be our anniversary.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Ashley: So...
Victor: This is something special.
Ashley: Really?
Victor: Uh-huh. Why don't you open your eyes?
Ashley: That's the chair you got me, right?
Victor: That's right. And that is symbolic of the seat on the Newman board of directors.
Ashley: Uh... (Sighs) Is somebody stepping down?
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Ashley: Well, who?
Billy: (Clears throat)
Billy: Hey, Mom. It's me. It's Billy. (Chuckles) Call me back. We need to talk. I swear if what Cane said is true, I'm gonna-- hey, you look tense. What's going on with you?
Colleen: I have just been summoned by Victoria, so I'm guessing I'm about to be officially booted off the Newman board of directors.
Billy: How is that possible?
Colleen: (Sighs)
J.T.: You're really gonna demand Colleen's resignation from the board?
Victoria: (Sighs) I don't have a choice.
J.T.: (Scoffs) You're treating her like she committed some kind of crime, Victoria.
Victoria: (Sighs) Practically everyone in here has seen the video of her flashing her breasts in that bar. You may have covered her up, but you can't erase their memories, J.T.
J.T.: Yeah, but canning her because of that, it does-- just don't--don't do it. Don't be that person.
Victoria: What person? Responsible?
J.T.: No, don't be your father
Victoria: Colleen compromised this company by exposing herself.
J.T.: Okay, so it wasn't her finest moment.
Victoria: You should have told me when this happened. You shouldn't have waited until it hit the fan.
J.T.: Oh, come on. We've been through this before. I was helping out a friend whose--whose indiscretion got blown out of proportion because some loser exploited her.
Victoria: I'm following my father's orders.
J.T.: Since when have you ever been a good little soldier?
Victoria: What are you suggesting that I do? Suggesting that I go against his wishes?
J.T.: Stand up to him. Stand up to him. I'll--I'll be right there by your side. We make a pretty good team when we want to.
Victoria: Why would I stick my neck out like this?
J.T.: Because people make mistakes, and it's not fair to crucify them for it.
Victoria: And you see, this isn't about people for you. This is about protecting someone that you used to love.
J.T.: Oh, come on. You've never complained that I've stayed friends with Colleen.
Victoria: (Sighs) No. No, I haven’t.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Victoria: But she's embarrassed the family, which you are a part of, and she's made the company that you work for look bad.
J.T.: Haven't you ever done something stupid because you had t-too much to drink?
Victoria: There is no point in debating this, all right? It--I have to remove Colleen from the board today.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Victoria: What? What? Why are you looking at me like that?
J.T.: I just-- I-I don't want to believe that you would give in to your father when you know he's wrong.
Victoria: This is his company. He calls the shots. And anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Victor: Yeah, distribute the press release as soon as the, uh, vote is final, all right? Yep. Cool. Bye. Baron says congratulations.
Ashley: Well, that's very kind. I haven't been approved yet, though.
Victor: Oh, Sweetheart, that's just a formality.
Ashley: (Sighs) Who's leaving? Why won't you tell me?
Victor: Why don't you try out this seat? I'll get you a cup of tea.
Ashley: Oh, please, no more tea. I-I've had enough tea to last me until the next baby.
Victor: (Chuckles)
Ashley: I don't understand why you won't tell me.
Victor: (Sighs)
Ashley: It's Colleen, right? It's Colleen. That's whose seat I'm taking.
Victor: Yeah. She's tendered her resignation.
Ashley: Well, why would she do that?
Victor: I've no idea-- personal reasons.
Ashley: Well, did she say what the "Personal reasons" are?
Victor: Well, she just, you know, wanted to live her life, and-- and--and it just didn't fit in with--with the responsibilities of being a member of the board of directors, that's all.
Ashley: That doesn't make any sense at all. I mean, that sounds ridiculous to me. I mean, that board seat was an honor to her. She took it as a way of paying tribute to her father by following in his footsteps.
Victor: And I think she's still mourning the death of her father.
Ashley: But that wouldn't stop her from making decisions at the Newman board. I mean--
Victor: But you know what happens when one is mourning. One is preoccupied. One doesn't pay attention. Besides that, she's the face of Jabot Cosmetics. It just wasn't the right fit for her. That's all.
Ashley: You've wanted her out of there from day one, Victor.
Victor: You bet. I wanted you in that seat.
Ashley: I know, but it's just strange.
Victor: Sweetheart, it's the best solution for everyone involved, okay? She lives her life, and you assume your rightful place.
Billy: Okay. So who was this mysterious stranger who egged you on?
Colleen: A bartender at the Athletic Club. I should have known it was too awesome to be true.
Billy: Well, did you call him on it?
Colleen: No, it was like I was talking in tongues. I mean, looking back now, I can see that he was playing me.
Billy: So, uh... (Clears throat) How'd he get you to flash your headlights?
Colleen: (Scoffs) Funny.
Billy: (Chuckles)
Colleen: I was wasted, and he dared me to do something wild, and how convenient-- someone got it on video.
Billy: And then they uploaded it to the internet for the world to see.
Colleen: I am road kill at Newman.
Billy: You think Victor's behind it?
Colleen: Yeah. I mean, he's been looking for a way to-- to knock me off the board of directors.
Billy: You know, it's-- it's bad enough that someone's messing with you, but at Jimmy’s? That is the one place you can cut loose without any fallout. Well, it was, until my fake brother bought it.
Colleen: Look, Billy... (Sighs) I know you blame Cane for everything from the mortgage crisis to the swine flu, but he doesn't even own the bar anymore.
Billy: I also blame Victor and the slime bag who uploaded the video.
Colleen: Well, you know what? You can blame Elvis, because it was my fault, and Jack is going to have a fit.
Billy: Why?
Colleen: Because-- because he was coaching me to get this board seat. I was supposed to be his eyes and his ears.
Billy: (Chuckles) Good ol' Jack-- never misses an opportunity to stick it to Victor, does he?
Colleen: I just hate letting him down, and I wish that I could do something to--to fight this, you know?
Billy: Well, there's always a way.
Colleen: Like I can go up against Victor on my own?
Billy: Who said you're gonna be on your own? Behold your trusty sidekick.
Colleen: (Clears throat) Did I ever tell you that you are my favorite uncle?
Billy: I'm not just doing it for you. The Newmans think they own the world.
Colleen: What? You mean they don't?
Billy: (Chuckles)
Colleen: (Chuckles)
Billy: Look, nobody is gonna treat my family like this, okay?
Colleen: Thank you.
Amber: You say you care about me?
Deacon: I do.
Amber: Then how could you take away what matters to me most?
Deacon: You mean your virginity?
Amber: Oh, don't be a jerk. I am talking about Daniel, okay? He and I had a great life until you came into town.
Deacon: Well, that's why we made this deal, right? So he could stay out of jail, huh? So the romance of the century could continue?
Amber: He wouldn't even be in jail if you hadn't framed him.
Deacon: Oh, details, details.
Amber: And what kind of dirt bag forces a woman into having sex with him?
Deacon: Wait a second. You could have left at any time, Honey.
Amber: I would have slept with a rattlesnake if it meant saving Daniel.
Deacon: Well, maybe you already have. See, you forget, I know you. I know what you like. You like the bad boys, Amber, and that sure as hell ain't Danny.
Amber: Well, that was the old Amber.
Deacon: Oh, the old one, the new one. That guy's too tame for you.
Amber: No.
Deacon: Honey, he ain't like us. He's got no edge.
Amber: Maybe not, but he's good and decent-- two qualities you couldn't possibly comprehend.
Deacon: Really? Let me guess. Danny didn't appreciate your little sacrifice, did he? Oh, that's it. Yeah. Let me ask you this-- how good and decent is he? And why the hell would you even want to hang out with some uptight guy like that in the first place? I don't get it. You know, "Blondie," you and I, we belong together. I'm the yin to your yang. I don't understand why you don't just admit that I get you hot, huh? That's what you need-- something that's sorely missing with "Mr. Milquetoast."
Amber: Shut up, okay? You do not know anything about him!
Deacon: Calm down. Relax. I kept my side of the agreement.
Amber: I don't believe you.
Deacon: I sent the district attorney the DVD which showed them that, uh, Romalotti was framed for the whole forgery scam.
Amber: Then why isn't he out of jail?
Deacon: How the hell should I know?
Amber: You know what? If you are lying to me--
Deacon: I'm not. I'm not. As a matter of fact, I think you owe me a great big thank-you, the kind that only you really know how to give me. (Chuckles) You are hot when you're angry, aren't you?
Daniel: Whatever feelings I had for her she killed when she cheated on me.
Kevin: What are-- what are you talking about?
Jana: Look, she would never cheat on you after what happened last summer.
Daniel: Well, guess what? She did--with some ex that she forgot to tell me about.
Jana: I don't know. There--there must be some sort of a mistake.
Daniel: No, the only mistake that I ever made was trusting her. I mean, I don't even know who this girl is.
Kevin: Dude-- dude, this is crazy.
Daniel: What's crazy is that I wanted to marry her when I got out of here, okay? How much of a moron am I?
Kevin: W-well, how can you be sure that she actually slept with this guy?
Daniel: Because the guy left the phone on while they were doing it.
Jana: Oh, God, what sort of a person w--
Kevin: (Exhales)
Jana: Was this chap's name Deacon?
Daniel: What, do you know him?
Jana: W-well, I just know that there was some fellow visiting from L.A., but I got the impression that Amber couldn't stand him.
Kevin: So, what? How did Amber explain all this?
Daniel: Oh, you know, she tried to spin it like she was making some big sacrifice for me. Apparently, the guy has evidence that could get me out of jail, but he wouldn't give it to her unless she slept with him.
Jana: Oh.
Kevin: So then this is what Amber was talking about.
Daniel: What do you mean?
Kevin: She was going on about having some big decision to make, and--and she was worried that she could lose you over it.
Daniel: So you knew that she was gonna sleep with this guy?
Kevin: No, no, I had no idea what the actual situation was. But--but I can tell you that she was really torn up about it.
Jana: Oh, God. Poor Amber having to make such an awful choice.
Daniel: Oh, yes, Jana. Poor Amber. My heart really bleeds for her.
Jana: Look, if she says that she did it to get you out of prison, then she meant it, okay, Daniel?
Daniel: I told her that I didn't want her doing anything stupid, so she runs off and she hops into bed with this freak?
Jana: She was desperate to help you.
Daniel: No. No. This is classic Amber. She just runs around and does whatever the hell she damn well pleases, and then she tries to make excuses for it later.
Kevin: So wait, wait. Does this mean that the guy that Amber was with is responsible for these trumped-up charges against you?
Daniel: I don't know. She said that he was responsible for the Terroni being found in the apartment, but not for the murder. But you know what? It doesn't really matter, does it? 'Cause the guy got what he wanted. He got her in bed, and he got me in jail.
(Sighs)
Michael: I want Daniel released now, and a public apology would be nice, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for that.
Heather: (Laughs)
Michael: What? What? What's so funny? What?
Heather: Uh, you act as if the case is solved.
Michael: Well, yeah. You saw the DVD.
Heather: Which was sent to us anonymously. We don't know who sent it or why.
Michael: Well, what difference does it make? It's an admission of guilt.
Heather: Even if the admission of guilt is true, it doesn't put Daniel in the clear.
Michael: The man Daniel supposedly shot admits he set the kid up, which is what Daniel has been saying all along.
Heather: (Sighs)
Michael: It proves he was telling the truth. What are you waiting for? You want Balfour to rise from the dead and give it to you in writing?
Heather: Okay, yes, as far as the forgery business goes, the video helps Daniel. But it also gives him motive to murder Balfour.
Michael: That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
Heather: Oh, come on, you know damn well that's exactly what I have to pursue.
Michael: You know damn well that Daniel is not a killer.
Heather: Oh, of course you would say that. You're his attorney.
(Cell phone rings)
Michael: Hold--shh, shh, shh! What?
Amber: Michael, I am standing here with a man who has proof that Daniel was framed for the whole forgery mess.
Michael: What kind of proof?
Amber: A DVD. Um, he said he mailed it to the D.A.'s office, but since nothing's happened, he must be lying, so I need you to bring the police down here so they can make him hand it over.
Michael: Uh, hold-- I think I know where that DVD came from. Look, Amber, um, the D.A.'s office did receive that DVD, but Heather would like to talk to the sender.
Amber: Good. Good. We're at the Athletic Club. Um, it's, uh, room suite 311.
Michael: Don--don't move. We're on our way.
Deacon: They get it?
Amber: For once in your life, you were actually telling the truth.
Deacon: All right. Now what?
Amber: Oh, well, the A.D.A. and Daniel's lawyer are gonna come down here, and then you're going to jail, and Daniel's gonna walk out a free man.
J.T.: Do you have to decide today? Can you sleep on it?
Victoria: Listen, I am not gonna sleep on it, all right?
(Knock on door)
Billy: Hi.
Victoria: (Clears throat)
Colleen: (Sighs) Victoria, you wanted to see me?
Victoria: Yes, um, I had a letter of resignation drawn up, and I would like for you to sign it.
Colleen: And what if I don't?
Victoria: Well, then I will be forced to dismiss you. Listen, do yourself a favor and just walk away. At least you'll be maintaining some dignity this way.
Colleen: This isn't even about me. This is about your father not getting his way. We all know that he wanted Ashley to have that board seat.
Victoria: Well, you gave him the perfect excuse to get rid of you.
Colleen: And, of course, he gets you to do his dirty work.
Victoria: My dad made his wishes very clear when you were in here the other day, and, uh, I'm just following through.
Colleen: (Sighs) Look, isn't there a way we can talk him out of it?
Victoria: I'm sorry, Colleen, but I happen to agree with him.
Colleen: That is not what you said before.
Victoria: Well, I have reevaluated the situation and I do see my father's point.
Colleen: (Scoffs) That is so bull, okay? You are not a prude.
Victoria: The fact remains that--
Colleen: I can't-- I can't even believe you're talking like this. You have--you have turned into your father.
Billy: She's right, you know. I mean, your father has wanted her off that board ever since she replaced Brad. And it makes sense. I mean, it is his company. But what I don't get is, um, why are you going along with it? She used to be your stepdaughter.
Victoria: What exactly would you have me do?
Billy: I don't know. There are other options.
J.T.: What options?
Billy: Well, she has decided that she will make a public apology, and she'll spin it any way you want. Give her a break.
Victoria: This isn't personal. It's business. I'm sorry, Colleen. As far as the Newman board is concerned, you're history.
Billy: Victoria... (Clears throat) Why are you being so damn unreasonable?
J.T.: Hey, relax, all right?
Colleen: I bet you a hundred bucks that your father is the one that engineered this whole thing.
Victoria: Did he open your mouth and pour the liquor down your throat? Did he ask you to behave like a little slut?
Billy: Okay, easy.
Colleen: (Scoffs)
Billy: On what grounds are you dismissing her?
Victoria: Moral turpitude. It's in the board's article of service.
Billy: "Moral turpitude"? Okay, if moral turpitude were a deal breaker, there wouldn't be a single Newman on the board.
Victor: Hello.
Ashley: Hi.
Victor: Well, since you are tired of tea, I thought I'd bring you a juice.
Ashley: (Chuckles)
Victor: What? Hmm?
Ashley: Well, you say you want me to be a part of an international conglomerate, but obviously, you don't think I'm capable of getting my own juice.
Victor: Sweetheart, you don't have to do much until after the baby is born, okay? That seat is just a symbol.
Ashley: Of what?
Victor: You asked me to treat you as an equal.
Ashley: Yeah. And I meant it.
Victor: And I mean it. You're my equal-- at work and at home.
Ashley: You're not just humoring me?
Victor: Do you know how much you have given me these past few months? I was dead inside. Your love has just reinvigorated me, given me a new reason for being. I adore you. You're my partner in business and in life, and that seat on the board of directors is the least I can do to show you how much I love you and appreciate you.
Billy: Your mother was a stripper, which is perfectly fine. I love strippers. Your father has been married and divorced more times than Elizabeth Taylor, plus he has a criminal record, and let's not forget the centerfold you posed for.
Colleen: Are you s-- (laughs) Are you serious?
Billy: Oh, you didn't think anyone would remember that one, did you? "Daddy Warbucks" had to come in and buy the magazine to keep the issue from hitting the streets.
Victoria: Hmm. Yes, well, the point is, he did stop it. And unlike you, Colleen, I wasn't a Newman board member. I didn't have the same responsibilities that you have. So my decision is final.
Colleen: You can't do this, okay?
Billy: Relax. Relax. You realize this could cost Newman a bundle if she decides to fight back?
Victoria: Are you threatening us?
Billy: Oh, me? No. I'm just saying that you're really going to regret being your father's drone.
J.T.: All right, that's enough, okay?
Colleen: Let's just go. Come on.
Billy: Fine.
Colleen: You know what I don't understand is how you can be such a good guy at Jimmy’s and protect my modesty and still be one of them, J.T. (Scoffs) Doesn't it make you sick how they treat people?
Victoria: Thank you.
J.T.: What for?
Victoria: Thank you for-- for standing up to Billy and-- and for not siding with Colleen. You were loyal to the family, and that's what matters.
J.T.: (Sighs) Well, as much as I hate to admit it... (Sighs) Billy may have been right about your dad.
Victoria: How can you say that?
J.T.: A couple of months ago, your father came to me and asked me to dig up dirt on Colleen.
Victoria: (Sighs) What did you tell him?
J.T.: "Yes, boss. Whatever you say." And then I ignored it.
Victoria: Why?
J.T.: Because I knew I wouldn't find anything, and she didn't deserve it. But then recently, he came to me, and he said, uh, "Forget about the investigation," and then I see a video on Viewclick of Colleen exposing herself, and two seconds later, she's off the board.
Victoria: You think my father's responsible?
J.T.: Yeah. Don't you?
Amber: This lowlife is Deacon Sharpe, and I want him arrested immediately.
Heather: Uh, for what?
Amber: He had the DVD because he's the one responsible for the shooting in the alley, the forgery and-- and Daniel was just a pawn in this sick little game.
Michael: Is this true?
Deacon: Of course not. I was in New York at a charity event when this poor man was shot. I--
Amber: Well, that does not mean that he--
Heather: Where was the disk found?
Deacon: I actually found it in a parking lot.
Amber: He's lying!
Deacon: Okay, I was curious. I put the disk in, and I-I saw that the drunk man was talking about Romalotti.
Heather: So you know Daniel?
Deacon: Uh, actually, I met him when I was doing business with Victoria Newman. Um, he's an artist. I'm an art dealer. I was just trying to be a Good Samaritan.
Amber: (Scoffs) Yeah, right.
Michael: Why did you send it anonymously?
Deacon: I probably should have put a return address. I just didn't know how long I was gonna be in town.
Amber: You aren't-- you aren't buying this, are you?
Heather: Amber, please tell me why I shouldn’t.
Amber: Because he blackmailed me into sleeping with him, and he made sure that Daniel knew about it. And you know what? It wasn't-- it wasn't enough for Deacon to know that Daniel was in jail, but he had to break us up, too.
Heather: And why would he want to do that?
Amber: So he could have me all to himself.
Deacon: Maybe I should tell you both that Amber and I have a-a long history together. We-- (chuckles) We even have matching tattoos.
Amber: No, we had matching tattoos.
Deacon: Okay, I-I'm not proud of the fact that we spent the night together. I knew she had a thing with Daniel. But that has nothing to do with the disk, and truth be told, Amber has always been a little obsessed with me, so...
Amber: He-- he is the one that is obsessed!
Heather: Okay, do--do you-- would you like to know what I think about this, Amber?
Amber: (Cries) What?
Heather: That these accusations are just a convoluted excuse for you cheating on your boyfriend.
Michael: (Sighs)
Jana: Amber obviously had good intentions.
Daniel: (Sighs) Yeah, well, you know what they say the road to hell is paved with.
Kevin: Oh, come on, man. Don't be so hard on her.
Daniel: And she pretends like she doesn't know this Deacon guy, and then it turns out she's known him for years.
Kevin: She should have told you.
Daniel: You know, it-- it's bad enough that I got screwed over by that moron, but her, too, again?
Jana: Look, Daniel, when someone panics, it really messes with their mind, okay? You remember when I thought Kevin was gonna be put in jail or a padded cell? I had those blinding, awful headaches.
Daniel: Well, would you have slept with someone to get him out?
Jana: I don't know what I would have done. I just know that when you feel like you're losing someone you love, it makes you do some awful, crazy things.
Daniel: Yeah, well, I think I'd rather rot in this place than be with someone who's gonna stab me in the back.
Amber: The guy's a sociopath.
Heather: The date and the time stamp fit.
Deacon: I can assure you, I don't have a twin.
Heather: No, your alibi for the night of the shooting is strong.
Amber: He obviously had an accomplice.
Heather: Look, Amber, I'm sorry, but the only thing that you have proven is that you and Daniel have issues.
Amber: What about the DVD?
Heather: It may affect the case, but to what degree remains to be seen. I am sorry, Mr. Sharpe, for wasting your time.
Deacon: No. No worries.
Michael: Listen. You know I'll do everything I can to help Daniel, all right? All right. All right. Thank you.
Deacon: You're welcome. Thank you.
Michael: Let's talk.
Heather: There is nothing to talk about. Romalotti stays in jail.
Michael: That's ridiculous. There's a DVD.
Heather: Which gives him motive for murder. I already told you that.
Michael: Okay, you want to play hardball? Fine. I can go to the judge and talk about how you're not giving the new evidence enough weight, and, to say the least, your theories on the chain of events and Daniel's culpability? No, you know, way off the mark.
Heather: What do you want from me?
Michael: Well, until you finally decide what you think Daniel's guilty of, I want you to reduce the bail and reinstate it.
Heather: And if I refuse?
Michael: Well, then you'll just be on another losing track, and your record is pretty bleak. But you know what? That's your call.
Heather: (Sighs)
Victoria: Tell me about this?
J.T.: I'm telling you now.
Victoria: How many other secrets are you keeping from me?
J.T.: What do you expect from me, Victoria? To--to obey your father's every command unless you say something different?
Victoria: No, I-I didn't say that.
J.T.: (Sighs) Listen to us. We never used to argue like this. But ever since you got hit that night in the head in the alley, you--we haven't been the same.
Victoria: What? What? How do you mean?
J.T.: Well, one minute, you're all emotional, the next you're business. See-- see, we're--we're not in sync like we used to be.
Victoria: Okay, so, what? So--so you're-- you're punishing me by defending Colleen and going against my family?
J.T.: No. No. In fact, there was a time where I could have told you about what happened at Jimmy’s, and you would have understood.
Victoria: Okay, the bottom line is, Colleen put the company in jeopardy. Now whether you like it or not, she's been dealt with. As far as her web exposure, you're gonna have to answer to my father on that one.
J.T.: (Sighs) I will. And I wish I would have been honest with him in the first place, but you can bet I will be now.
Victor: Tell me what's going on.
Ashley: I've just been accusing you of treating me like an invalid. And then you show your faith in me by doing something as wonderful as giving me a seat on the board.
Victor: (Sighs) I hope those are happy tears.
Ashley: I'm sorry.
Victor: For what?
Ashley: I've just been pushing you away. I've been keeping you at a distance, and then you do something like this for me? I'm sorry.
Victor: I just want you to be safe, okay?
Ashley: Do you understand that I've been so worried? I've been so concerned about keeping this baby. I mean, going to term with this baby. Do you understand that? How worried I've been?
Victor: Sweetheart, after what you've been through, I understand everything that you feel, okay?
Ashley: But for you to have this kind of belief in me, it makes me feel strong. (Voice cracking) It really does. It--it makes all the difference for me. Thank you so much.
Victor: (Sighs) Let me tell you something about that. If you hadn't found me in Paris, I don't know what the hell I would have done.
Ashley: (Sighs)
Victor: I don't know what would have happened to me. I adore you, and I love you.
Ashley: (Gasps) (Sniffles) (Normal voice) The baby kicked.
(Chuckles)
Victor: You just wait. You'll soon be with us, hmm?
Ashley: You listen to your daddy, Hope, okay?
(Sniffles)
Victor: Oh, my goodness. Look at this. I can hardly wait.
Ashley: I know. You know, that's what she means to me. She's Hope.
Victor: I know.
Ashley: It's you and me. It's a new start for you and me and our two girls.
Victor: And I think Abby will be a wonderful sister, won't she, hmm?
Ashley: (Chuckles) She already is. You know how doting she is? I mean, it's really silly. We're gonna have to sneak in time with our own baby. Thank you.
Victor: Now I've gotta go to the office.
Ashley: Oh, will you be long?
Victor: Every minute away from you is too long.
Victor: Take care.
Ashley: (Laughs)
Victor: I love you.
Ashley: I love you, too.
Ashley: (Whispers) I love you, too.
Kevin: You know, I was-- I was really out of it when Amber and I were, uh, on the run, but-- but I do remember her telling me something.
Daniel: What?
Kevin: Well, she had said that she had done a lot of horrible things in her life, but--but that being with you made her want to be a better person.
Daniel: Is that supposed to make me feel better?
Kevin: No. But all of this was for you, so that should count for something.
Michael: Thank you. (Sighs) Hello. Good news, Daniel. You're getting out on bail.
Man: Too many visitors at once, Romalotti.
Kevin: All right. We're gonna take off.
Jana: Looks like Amber came through for you, Daniel. She loves you.
Deacon: Alone at last.
Amber: Drop dead.
(Cries)
Deacon: Oh, come on. You're still here. You must like me a little bit.
Amber: (Sighs) I despise you.
Deacon: Yeah, but in a good kind of way, right?
Amber: You ruined my life. Everything I had, everything I loved is gone.
Deacon: Will you stop being such a drama queen?
Amber: You know what? You had your one night. Can't you just go away and leave me and Daniel alone?
Deacon: You don't see it, do you? I freed you. Well, the same as that I'm free from suspicion, 'cause I gotta tell you, that cute little D.A. chick-- she wasn't buying a word you were babbling. That just goes to show you, I still have my touch.
Amber: You weren't always like this.
Deacon: Sure I was. That's why you get such a kick out of me.
Amber: Go to hell.
(Door slams)
Michael: You should be out by tomorrow.
Daniel: How'd you do it?
Michael: Well, the D.A.'s office received a DVD that proved that you were framed in that whole forgery fiasco.
Daniel: So I'm off the hook.
Michael: Not entirely. But the evidence is strong enough the judge has reinstated your bail, and, uh, reduced it significantly.
Daniel: Thank you, Michael. I-I-I don't know how I'm gonna be able to thank you.
Michael: Well, don't thank me. Thanks to Amber. She's the one who got the evidence to Heather.
[Amber remembering]
Amber: (Sobs)
Daniel: You lied to me again. I guess that's just how you're made. I guess that's just always what you're gonna do. And how stupid am I for sitting here and believing that every time it happens, it's not gonna happen again?
Amber: This is not my idea! Can't you understand that?
Daniel: No! No, I can't understand that!
Amber: (Sobs) (Sighs) You know, even if-- even if you never forgive me, I just, um, I would rather lose you forever then see you spend the rest of your life in prison.
Daniel: Well, I guess you got your wish.
(Cell phone rings)
Amber: Hello?
Daniel: I'm getting out tomorrow. I need to see you.
Colleen: Look, I appreciate you going into bat for me, but, Billy, it's a lost cause, okay?
Billy: No way. It is not. Besides... (Clears throat) Cane's lecture about family loyalty has already pushed my buttons.
Colleen: Billy, forget Cane. You tried, and I am very grateful.
Billy: You know, it just--just drives me nuts, because I know I come off like I don't care. It's just, I'm not a suck-up like Cane.
Colleen: Why do you keep comparing yourself to him?
Billy: Because everybody else does. Anyway, it's not his family. It's mine. And it's my job to-- to protect you guys, so don't give up. This fight is far from over.
Victor: So how did she take it?
Victoria: Uh, not--not well.
Victor: Well, thank you for handling it in such a timely manner. I guess you've got some explaining to do, J.T., don't you?
J.T.: About what?
Victor: How come you were so protective of Colleen Carlton at that bar? Have you forgotten who you work for?
J.T.: (Scoffs) No, I work for you, and it's a job I enjoy, unless you ask me to ruin the reputation of an innocent girl. Victoria knows--she knows what you asked me to do, and she also knows that I didn't do it.
Victor: Do you think my orders are optional?
J.T.: If you don't like the way I do my job, I can resign.
Victor: You do that.
Victoria: J.T., no.
J.T.: I'll, uh, I'll turn in my keys and my badge.
Victor: Call all the board members except Colleen Carlton. She's no longer with us. Tell them the meeting is tomorrow.
(Hangs up telephone)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Jill: If it had been up to me, you never would have been C.E.O. of Jabot.
Nina: Your father was the love of my life, and I think he still is.
Jack: You are carrying my child.
Sharon: Well, I am responsible for her, Jack! Me!
