Billy: Hmm. (Humming) Hmm. (Sniffs) Good morning.

Mac: Good morning.

Billy: Morning. Mm. (Sighs) This feels right, like I was born to be right here with you.

Mac: I know.

Billy: It shouldn't have taken so long to get here.

Mac: Well, it was worth it, the wait.

Billy: Oh, yeah, every crazy little second. Nothing in my life feels like this. (Chuckles) Mm.

Deacon: (Sighs) (sighs) Mm. Wow. That was worth waiting for.

Amber: Sun's up. Night's over.

(Sighs)

(Sighs)

Deacon: Your tattoo.

Amber: What?

Deacon: You changed it. They, uh, they used to match.

Amber: (Scoffs) Yeah, because I moved on. You should try it sometime.

Deacon: Well, then we wouldn't have had last night.

Amber: My point exactly.

Deacon: Oh, oh, okay. So you're gonna pretend now that it wasn't good?

Amber: (Sighs) I am not going to speak to you at all unless it's about the DVD that's gonna set Daniel free. So where is it?

Deacon: I don't know. It's around here somewhere.

Amber: Unh-unh. We had a deal-- my cooperation in exchange for Daniel's freedom.

Deacon: I'm gonna send the DVD to the D.A. don't worry.

Amber: No, give it to me now.

Deacon: Now where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah, from you last night. (Laughing) You're just mad because you know that I know that you loved it.

Amber: Get off me!

Deacon: And guess what. I'm not the only one.

Amber: What is that supposed to m-mean? Oh, my God.

Deacon: Mm.

Amber: (Breathing heavily) You did it again. You did the same thing that you did with Bridget when you made her parents listen.

Deacon: Hey, hey, hey, I didn't make anyone listen, those pervs.

Amber: Daniel? You called Daniel?

Deacon: It is kind of a nasty habit.

Amber: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You son of a bitch! Oh, God, no! Oh!

Deacon: Wow, you forgot your DVD.

[Amber remembering]

Amber: (Gasping)

Deacon: Oh, God, Amber, it feels so good.

Amber: (Breathing heavily)

Deacon: Oh.

Amber: Daniel--Daniel can never know about this, Deacon. Promise me, please, you won't tell him ever.

Deacon: Oh, Honey, I promise he's never gonna hear it from me.

Esther: Oh, great. Thanks, Mrs. C. this should do it, definitely.

Kay: Yes.

Esther: Yeah, look at what I have. Look what Grandma has. Come on, Sweetheart, this will be so cute.

Kay: Oh.

Esther: Oh, look at you.

Chance: Is she havin' it?

Kay: Oh.

Chance: I don't think she's havin' it.

Esther: Mommy's gonna be so happy.

Jill: And where is mommy, out shopping again?

Esther: No.

Chance: No, she's party planning.

Jill: What does she have to celebrate?

Esther: Jill, it's her birthday. We're having a lunch.

Kay: Can you stay?

Jill: Gee, no. Something just came up.

Nina: Oh, well, that's too bad. What will we do without Jill here?

Chloe: Well, it's not gonna be the same without you.

Jill: Maybe the two of you can compare notes on getting pregnant to snag rich husbands.

Chloe: (Scoffs)

Nina: Look who's talking. She could give a seminar.

Esther: Look, there's Mommy.

Nina: (Gasps)

Esther: Hi, there.

Chance: Yeah, Mommy. Yeah, Mommy.

Esther: Yeah.

Phillip: Whoo!

Nina: Want to do Superman?

Phillip: Are we flyin'? Yeah, are we flyin' in the air? Are we flyin'? Here we go. (Imitates plane landing)

Chance: Mommy.

Murphy: (Laughs)

Chance: Good job.

Chloe: Oh, look at you. You're flirting, aren't you? What did they do to your head?

Chance: How can you tell?

Esther: It comes off.

Chloe: How can I tell? Look at her. She's drooling.

Chance: Oh, is that what it is?

Chloe: Yeah, she's drooling. Uh, try to be a little more subtle baby, huh? Yeah, who am I kidding? She's my kid, right?

Murphy: (Laughs) But he-- he's a natural with the baby.

Chloe: Ooh, yeah.

Kay: Yeah, he's gonna make a wonderful father.

Chance: Yeah.

Chloe: Yeah. Ha ha ha.

Nina: That's how I used to think about Phillip.

Esther: Oh, just like that.

Chloe: So pretty.

Phillip: Lily is in surgery right now?

Cane: Yeah, she should be done, but I don't know, 'cause her dad won't return my phone calls.

Phillip: Go down there.

Cane: (Scoffs) Yeah, I think that's, uh, what she wants-- her dad screaming at her soon-to-be ex outside her hospital room.

Phillip: What a mess, man.

Cane: You know, I just keep thinking about if I left town when I was going to, I wouldn't even know she was sick.

Phillip: So you're gonna stick around now?

Cane: (Sighs) No, I'll stay till I know she's okay. What about you?

Phillip: Yeah, it's time for me to get back. You--you disapprove?

Cane: (Clears throat) Look, I just think you have so much unresolved, you know? I don't know how you could turn your back on your family like this.

Phillip: You were just about to.

Cane: Yeah, but they're not my family. I just pretended to belong, but you actually do belong. I just--I don't know. I just don't see how you could walk away from something like this unless you had to.

Lily: Daddy.

Neil: Yes, baby. Yes. I mean, come on. Tell me. Tell me. What happened?

Chloe: Now, okay, I-I haven't heard back from him yet, but I-I don't care. You know, I don't want to make a big deal out of my birthday. It's not...

Esther: (Scoffs) Yeah, since when, hmm?

Chloe: Birthdays are for kids. It's just another day.

Chance: Ignore her.

Esther: Oh, yeah, I intend to. Hmm.

Chloe: Uh, excuse me?

Chance: What? Being alive is worth celebrating.

Chloe: Okay, yes, I guess you have a different perspective...

Chance: Mm-hmm.

Chloe: Coming back from war and all, but...

Chance: Birthdays are like-- they're like Victories. It's an act of defiance over there.

Chloe: Okay, so, like, "In your face, bad guys"?

Chance: Yeah, something like that.

Chloe: Oh, yeah, yeah. All right, all right.

Chance: Got another one?

Chloe: Uh, okay, okay, so I took a couple punches this year, and I'm still standing, right?

Chance: Mm-hmm.

Chloe: Right?

Chance: There you go. You got the right idea.

Chloe: Okay.

(Sighs)

Chance: Mm-hmm.

Chloe: Oh, whoa. Do I smell...?

Chance: Yeah, yeah.

Chloe: What I think I smell?

Chance: Yeah, you do.

Chloe: All right, here, give her to me, come on.

Chance: No, you know what? Birthday girls do not change diapers. So if you will excuse us...

Chloe: Here.

Chance: We have to take a little detour. Thank you. Come here.

Chloe: All right. Well, thank you.

Chance: Come here, come here. Come here, come here, come here.

Chloe: Well, chivalry is not dead, huh?

Esther: You know, Nina really raised him right.

Chloe: Yeah, yeah. I gotta ask her how she did it. (Chuckles) I mean, he grew up without a father, so all the more reason for him to act like a self-absorbed slacker, and look at him. He has turned it all the way around. He is just extremely responsible.

Esther: Yeah, like Mac. I mean, she didn't have anyone to look out for her, either, but that--that just made her more compassionate and more determined to help those less fortunate. Y-you know what? Th-th-they're like two peas in a pod that way.

Chloe: Wait a minute. Say that again.

Esther: Yeah, they-- they're really the same. They're both-- both out to save the world.

Chloe: Oh, my God. (Scoffs) Why am I so dense? Why didn't I think about this before?

Esther: Wait, what--what-- what are you talking about?

Chloe: Mac, Chance-- they are going to save the world, and I am going to save my marriage.

Mac: People are gonna know.

Billy: No, they're not gonna know.

Mac: They will. I am too happy.

Billy: (Sighs) All right, well, do you want me to tell Chloe?

Mac: (Scoffs) You owe her that.

Billy: Oh, she knows it's over.

Mac: Her face lights up every time you walk into a room. She's still hoping.

Billy: (Sighs) All right, fine, just not today.

Mac: Why not today?

Billy: Well, it's her birthday, for one, so...

Mac: Oh, okay. That would be mean, but soon.

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Mac: Billy.

Billy: Well, it-- mm.

(Cell phone rings)

Billy: (Grunts)

Mac: It's Chloe.

Billy: (Laughs) Oh, great. She probably has the place bugged already.

Mac: Hello?

Chloe: Mac, hi, it's Chloe.

Mac: Hi. Is Grandma okay?

Chloe: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's fine. No worries. Um, listen, what are you doing for lunch?

Mac: I'm not sure yet.

Chloe: Because it's my birthday, and we're getting some people together over at the house, and I would just love it if you could make it.

Mac: Uh... okay, thanks.

Chloe: Okay, great. I'll see you soon.

Mac: I just got invited to Chloe's birthday party.

Billy: Mm-hmm, she's up to something. Mm-hmm.

Mac: Does it matter?

Billy: Mnh-mnh, because I am not losing you again ever... ever...

Mac: Mm.

Billy: Ever. (Singsong voice) Ever.

Mac: Mm.

Billy: Mm.

Lily: Is it over?

Neil: Yes.

Lily: Did they get the tumor out?

Neil: Yeah.

Lily: How bad is it? Dad.

Neil: (Sniffles)

Doctor: Hello, Lily.

Neil: She's just waking up, Doctor.

Doctor: Probably feeling a little fuzzy still, hmm? I'm here to talk to you about your surgery, answer your questions.

Lily: How much did you take?

Doctor: Well, the cancer had spread to your fallopian tubes and your uterus. I had to remove them.

Lily: (Sighs)

Lily: No. (Sniffles) No. I'm just dreaming. I'm dreaming. (Sniffles) Dad. (Sniffles)

Neil: Oh, my sweet girl. It's okay. It's okay.

Doctor: You want some time?

Neil: Yeah.

Doctor: I'll be right outside.

Lily: Dad, it's not true.

Neil: Lily...

(Sighs)

Lily: (Sniffles)

Neil: There was good news, okay? You had eggs already mature, and they saved them. It's a tiny miracle.

Lily: Wake me up. Please, wake me up.

(Crying)

Murphy: You invited Mac?

Chloe: Yeah. Yeah, you know, we've really been hitting it off lately.

Kay: Oh.

Esther: You have?

Kay: Oh, God, I hadn't realized that--

Chloe: Yeah, yeah, I-I think Mac is great. I really do.

Kay: And, uh, you know, Billy still might come.

Murphy: Yeah, well, I'm sure he will now.

Kay: Well, that makes eight.

Esther: Well, I'll go set two more places.

Murphy: Oh, do we need another leaf for the table?

Kay: Oh, to make room for the high chair. Come on.

Murphy: All right.

(Grunts)

Chance: Uh, can I give you guys a hand with that?

Murphy: Oh, no, no, no. You've got your hands full.

Chance: Oh.

(Chuckles)

Kay: (Smacking lips) Aren't you so cute?

Chance: Oh, wow. Look at you. Makin' it to the big table already, kid?

Chloe: Mm-hmm. Yeah, Dee, you stick with me. I'm gonna take you places.

Chance: Oh, you guys travel much?

Chloe: Yeah, but you know who--Mac. Mac--she's traveled a lot. You know, she just came back from Africa.

Chance: Yeah, um, yeah, I heard.

Chloe: Yeah. Have you--have you talked to her much lately?

Chance: No. No, not exactly.

Chloe: You--well, you should. You should, 'cause you know what? You guys have a lot in common. You do. Hi. You do. You know, you both, um... well, you both grew up without your fathers, and then you reunited with them later, and I'm sure she could give you a lot of advice on that.

Chance: The situation with my father--Phillip-- it is what it is, okay?

Chloe: You really don't want to get to know him better?

Chance: Well, he never made an effort with me.

Phillip: Yeah, I-I know. One--one-way tickets always get flagged for security. So I'll get to the airport early, I promise. Okay, thank you.

Nina: Airport? So you're leaving?

Phillip: I did what I came to do, and I've got a business. I've got responsibilities back in Sydney.

Nina: You know, you-- you had to know that it would be awkward at first. If we're not living up to your expectations, I mean...

(Sighs)

Phillip: Oh, no, Nina. No, I've got--I've got no right to expect anything from you or any of my family. I know that.

Nina: But you're still disappointed in us.

Phillip: No. No, especially our son. Oh, my God. Nina, what a wonderful job you've done.

Nina: (Laughs)

Phillip: You--

Nina: I always told him that his father would be proud of him.

Phillip: Proud-- I-I don't know if the word is proud, 'cause I had nothin' to do with it, but I'm impressed, very impressed with him.

Nina: Well, the more you get to know him, the more impressed you'll be.

Phillip: Yeah, no doubt.

Nina: But you're leaving anyway.

Phillip: He can get in touch with me any time he wants to.

Nina: He won't, not if you walk out on him again.

Phillip: I'm not walkin' away, okay? I'm just going back to my life. I'm Phillip Langley now. I have been for 20 years.

Nina: Um, I-I didn't order this.

Man: The gentleman did.

Nina: Okay, so how did Phillip Langley know that I love cinnamon rolls?

Phillip: Both Phillips have very fond memories of Nina Webster.

Nina: (Laughs) You know, you can call yourself Bugs Bunny, but you are still Phillip Chancellor. You are who you've always been, and now you can be more. You could be a father.

Jill: (Sighs) How's Lily?

Cane: I don't know. She was in surgery last I heard. (Sniffs) (Sighs) What are you doing here?

Jill: Katherine found out about Lily through Neil.

Cane: It's kind of you to think about me.

Jill: I know your feelings for Lily are genuine.

Daniel: I don't want to see her.

Amber: Daniel, please.

Daniel: Just--can you get her out of here?

Amber: I am not-- I'm not leaving.

Daniel: Fine. Guard, can you take me back to my cell?!

Amber: Daniel, please, okay? Let me explain.

Neil: (Sighs)

Devon: The doctor said that he told her.

Neil: Yeah, briefly. She was, um, she was too upset to hear the details.

Neil: Where'd Dr. Berger go?

Tyra: (Sighs)

Devon: I don't know. He had a call.

Neil: I have a lot of questions for him.

Devon: I'll sit with Lily.

Neil: She's kinda out of it because of the anesthesia, you know?

Devon: Okay.

Neil: God, he's barely holdin' it together.

Tyra: Well, sure.

Devon: (Sighs)

Tyra: I mean, when your baby is suffering and there's nothing you can do about it, Devon, that's... (Sighs) That's the worst thing ever.

Devon: It could get worse. No, it could get a lot worse, and that's exactly what he's thinkin' right now. He's thinkin' he could lose Lily just like he lost Dru.

Devon: God, without her here... without her here...

Tyra: Devon, listen to me. Nothing--listen, nothing is going to happen to Lily, okay?

Devon: You don't know that.

Tyra: I have faith.

Devon: I don’t. Gosh, I don't anymore, no.

Tyra: Come here. You should have faith. Come here.

Nina: Your son needs you in his life.

Phillip: He's a grown man.

Nina: Don't you wish you still had a father to turn to?

Phillip: Yeah, I do, but I'm a screw-up. You know, Chance is self-assured, nothing like me.

Nina: I-- well, you--you're more alike than you think you are. I can't tell you how many times he gives me a look or--or makes a gesture-- it's like looking at you. Don't tell me you've got nothing to offer him, because the Phillip that I know and fell in love with...

Man: Whenever you're ready.

Phillip: Hey, uh, hold on. There you go.

Man: Thank you.

Phillip: Keep the change.

Man: You guys have a great day.

Phillip: All right, you, too.

Nina: Thanks.

Phillip: (Clears throat) Uh, you were saying?

Nina: I was saying don't go for Chance's sake.

Phillip: You haven't told Chance that I'm gay, have you?

Nina: No, is that what you're worried about? 'Cause I told you he can handle it, and so can you, by the way. In fact, I think you need this even more than he does.

Chance: And these are just a few of the smiles that you put on those faces with the toys that you sent over.

Murphy: Oh, nice.

Kay: Oh, dear, my goodness.

Murphy: Those kids.

Chloe: Oh, she's really cute.

Kay: Well, I'm glad I could help.

Mac: Hello. Hope I'm not too late.

Kay: Hi, Mac.

Chloe: Ah, no, you are just in time. Uh, look at these pictures. Look.

Mac: Cute kids.

Chloe: Yeah, and Chance here...

Mac: Hi.

Chance: Hi.

Chloe: Happened to be in Iraq the same time that you were helping refugees in Darfur. Ha! So you guys gotta discuss. And I'm really hungry, so can we put the food out, yeah?

Kay: Oh, yes, of course.

Murphy: Yeah, sure.

Chloe: Sit down, make yourselves comfortable, chat.

Kay: Okay, here you go.

Mac: Okay.

Chloe: Come on, let them be.

Chance: Um, sure.

Kay: Help yourselves. Hi, Mac.

Mac: Hi.

Chance: Thank you.

Kay: How are you doing?

Mac: Hi.

Kay: Okay.

Chloe: Go, go, go.

Chance: I--

Mac: I thought I was invited to a birthday party, but, apparently, it's a blind date.

Chance: (Chuckles) Ya think?

Mac: Chloe doesn't know this, but I'm, um, seeing someone.

Chance: Well, there's somebody else that I'm interested in, as well, so, uh... let's not spoil her fun.

Mac: It is her birthday.

Chance: Yeah. So, um, tell me about Africa. You know, I had a friend of mine who was stationed over in Djibouti.

Mac: Camp Lemonier? I was there last year. I spoke at a training session for their crisis response team.

Chance: You had to have met my friend Cletis then.

Esther: Are you doing what I think you're doing?

Mac: Oh, my God, I totally know Cletis.

Chloe: Yes, yes.

Mac: He kicked my butt at ping-pong.

Chloe: And it is working.

Chance: (Chuckles)

Chloe: Yes! Happy birthday to me. Ha ha.

Daniel: You know what? It's exactly what it seems, isn't it, Amber?

Amber: No.

Daniel: So you weren't having sex with Deacon? Yeah.

Amber: He forced me.

Daniel: You know, that's funny, because I don't remember hearing you screaming for help.

Amber: It's not like that.

Daniel: How stupid do you think I am? Apparently pretty stupid, 'cause I'm sitting here in jail thinking that I want to get married to you the minute I get out, and you're off banging some guy that you just met! (Scoffs) (Laughing) You know him. You--how long has this been goin' on?

Amber: I hate him, okay? I did this for you.

Daniel: (Sighs)

Daniel: For me, you did this for me--you go and you sleep with this guy?

Amber: He had evidence that proves that you're innocent. I saw it myself, and he was gonna destroy it unless I did what he wanted.

Daniel: (Laughs) You know what, Amber? That is the most bizarre excuse that I've heard from someone cheating on someone.

Amber: Well, it's because it's the truth. It is the truth. He took your painting, and he hid it in the apartment, and then he called the cops because I wasn't cooperating.

Daniel: Oh, that's the truth?

Amber: Yes!

Daniel: I suppose that he's the murderer from the alley, too, right?

Amber: I don't know. I don't know, okay? He said he isn’t. I wouldn't have believed it before, but I don't-- I don't know.

Daniel: How long have you known this guy? You never mentioned it before.

Amber: No, well-- well, just because it was years since we knew each other. I haven't even--I haven't even thought about him.

Daniel: Well, it sounds like whatever the two of you had, it must have been pretty intense.

Amber: It's over. It was over-- it was over before it began. It was over. That is his problem.

Daniel: What problem, Amber?! He doesn't have a problem! He doesn't have a problem, because he got what he wanted! He got me in jail, and he got you in bed! You sold yourself to him!

Chance: So Cletis--

Kay: Cletis?

Chance: Cletis, yes, his name's Cletis.

Kay: Cletis.

Chance: Cletis is what we used to call him.

Kay: Okay, all right.

Chance: So anyways, he comes walking out himself and, I think, reaches back, gets down on one knee, reaches back, grabs the box, pulls it out--complete surprise--and then opens it up.

Kay: (Chuckles) Yeah?

Murphy: And when they pulled the girl up off the floor?

Chance: She says "Yes." I'm gonna be the best man.

Kay: I don't believe that. That's not a true story.

Chance: It's a great story.

Mac: It's gonna be a great wedding.

Chloe: Do you, uh, do you have a date yet?

Chance: No.

Billy: Hey, door was open.

Chloe: Ah, Dee, look who came to visit us.

Kay: Well, I'm so glad you could make it.

Billy: Yeah, I have a present for the birthday girl.

Chloe: Thank you. Really? (Gasps)

Billy: Remember that seal statue in Rockport?

Chloe: Yes.

Billy: You know, it was a fun weekend. Ha.

Chloe: Thanks. So they're really hitting it off.

Billy: Yeah, Delia and Mac?

Chloe: Uh, no, Mac and Chance.

Billy: Yeah? Oh, well.

Chloe: Yeah.

Billy: Hey, there. Let me see her. Come here, little one. Hey.

Mac: It's all right.

Billy: It's Daddy. Aw. So are you, uh, are you gonna be stayin' in town for a while?

Chance: Uh, yeah. Yeah, I think you're gonna be seeing a lot of me.

Billy: (Chuckles)

Nina: Hey, you didn't blow out your candles yet, did you?

Chloe: No, I still get to make my wish.

Nina: Okay. Um, can I talk to you for a second?

Chance: Yeah, sure. Excuse me.

Billy: Hey. Daddy.

(Mumbling indistinctly)

Cordelia: Ah.

Billy: Yeah. Yeah.

Nina: Hey, uh, Billy just got here.

Esther: Oh, excuse me.

Chance: Mom, you okay?

Nina: Yeah, yeah, I was just with your dad.

Chance: Uh-huh. I figured you would.

Nina: He's thinking about flying back to Australia. Now look, I-I don't expect you to make peace or form a lifelong bond. I just... (Sighs) I don't want you to miss this opportunity to get to know him a little bit. I mean, you might be surprised. Yes, he has his flaws, but he's also very funny and warm, and he's a kind-hearted man.

Chance: Well, it sounds like you've forgiven him.

Nina: It's not really about forgiveness. I'm just-- I'm trying not to judge him too harshly, and I-I really hope you'll do the same.

Devon: You're not alone, okay? I'm right here.

Lily: (Sighs)

Devon: Hey, just tell me what you need-- what do you need? -- Anything, and I'll get it for you, okay?

Lily: Cane.

Devon: (Sighs)

Jill: So who talked Lily into having the surgery? It was you, wasn't it?

Cane: I'm amazed she even listened to me.

Jill: It's not amazing. She loves you.

Cane: Yeah, well, let's see how long that lasts. Listen, you don't have to worry. I'm not gonna take advantage of the situation.

Jill: I know that you would never do something like that.

Cane: You trust me?

Jill: I trust myself. I trust my judgment. You are a good man, and you love your wife and your family.

Jill: Now let's go find out what's happening with Lily, huh?

Cane: Listen, thank you.

Amber: (Crying) You know, I feel bad enough about what I had to do.

Daniel: You didn't have to do it, Amber.

Amber: Well, what was I supposed to do, just let you sit here and rot in jail?

Daniel: Look where I am now.

Amber: Well, that's just 'cause I haven't turned in the new evidence yet.

Daniel: Do you have it?

Amber: No.

Daniel: No, no, I didn't think so. You know what? You'll probably never have it.

Amber: No, no, I'm gonna get it. I don't care what I have to do.

Daniel: Oh, I think that much we all know.

Amber: Will you stop it?! Stop being so mean! I did this for you!

Daniel: You say that again-- you knew exactly how this would make me feel, Amber, all right? You knew that it was gonna make me sick, and you just went off and you did it anyway.

Amber: I just thought you'd never have to know.

Daniel: Well, that's perfect. You know what? Just get out of my sight.

Deacon: (Sighs)

[Deacon remembering]

Amber: (Breathing heavily)

Deacon: She'll be back.

Chloe: So you actually brought Lily to Cane?

Billy: Yeah, I could see how much she needed him.

Chloe: Well, do you think that he's gonna pull through for her?

Billy: I think so.

Chloe: Well, it doesn't mean that we have to--have to do anything with him, right?

Billy: Oh, hell no.

Chloe: Right?

Billy: Hell no.

Chloe: Okay, good.

(Chuckles)

Billy: (Clears throat) Hmm.

Kay: Don't--don’t...

Esther: Okay.

Kay: All right, here we go.

Esther: Everybody ready to sing?

Kay: Oh, yeah.

Cane: Sorry to-- sorry to interrupt.

Nina: Then don’t.

Jill: Nina, he's here as my guest.

Billy: Mom, it's a very bad idea.

Jill: Billy, Cane is gonna be in my life, so you've gotta find a way to deal with it.

Billy: Fine, I'll deal with it.

Kay: No, no. Pardon me, Esther.

Cane: (Sighs)

Kay: I'm so glad, so glad.

Jill: (Sighs)

Tyra: What did the doctor say?

Neil: I'll tell you later. I want to check on Lily first, okay?

Tyra: Sure.

(Door closes)

Tyra: Devon, how is she?

Devon: She is, uh, in and out of it. I don't even think she knows what she's really saying right now.

Tyra: Why, what is she saying?

Devon: She says she wants Cane.

Tyra: Okay, well, then go get him.

Devon: Yeah, it's not that simple.

Tyra: Yes, it is.

Devon: No.

Tyra: Look, Devon, I already know, okay? So you don't have to tell me. Cane's a liar, and he's a con man, but he also adores her. You know that. Lily needs him more now than ever. Just worry about all the rest of that later. She needs him, Devon.

Devon: (Sighs) Gosh.

Neil: Oh, Dru, I felt you. I know you're out there somewhere. I know you're there, just like you were there the day our girl got married.

Neil: Where are you now?

Neil: (Crying) She looks at me like she was a little girl again. She wants me to put a band-aid on and make it all better, but I can’t. (Sniffles) I can’t. I don't know what to do. (Inhales sharply) I can't make it better... (Exhales deeply) 'cause I can't do a damn thing. She's gonna see how scared I am.

Neil: Dru, if ever I needed you, I need you now. 'Cause I can't do this on my own. (Sniffles) (Sighs) Oh, God. I can't do it without you.

Neil: Please, please help me.

Neil: Please help me.

(Crying)

Amber: (Crying) Daniel, I am so sorry.

Daniel: Really? 'Cause you keep saying that you didn't have a choice.

Amber: I didn’t.

Daniel: You could have talked to me, Amber. You could have been truthful with me. I mean, did that thought ever cross your mind?

Amber: There was nothing that you could do.

Daniel: So you just went charging off on your own again! You lied to me again! I-I guess it's just how you're made. I guess it's just always what you're gonna do! And how stupid am I for sitting here and believing that every time it happens, it's not gonna happen again?!

Amber: This was not my idea! Can't you understand that?

Daniel: No! No, I can't understand that!

Amber: (Crying) Fine. Okay. You know, even if-- even if you never forgive me, I just, um... I would rather lose you forever than see you spend the rest of your life in prison.

Daniel: Well, I guess you got your wish.

Daniel: Can I go now?

Amber: (Crying)

Jill: Have you heard anything from Neil about what's going on with Lily?

Kay: No, I've been waiting for his call.

Cane: Would you mind calling him, 'cause he doesn't answer the phone if I call?

Kay: I'll do that now.

Cane: Thank you. Thank you, Kay. Listen, guys, I don't mean to intrude. As soon as I find out about Lily, I will go.

Esther: Well, Mrs. C.'s glad you're here.

Murphy: Yeah, but you steer clear of Billy, 'cause if you get into it, it's just going to upset her.

Cane: I understand.

Mac: You need to calm down.

Billy: This guy has no right to be in my family's house, okay?

Mac: Give him a break. He's going crazy right now.

Billy: Oh...

(Mutters indistinctly)

Mac: Okay, I have to go say good-bye. Hey, me. I have to go say good-bye, and I have to change, and then I have to leave. Promise me that you will not make a scene.

Billy: Fine.

Mac: Billy.

Billy: Fine. I promise--no scene. They'll only run to his rescue anyway, right? So...

Mac: Thank you.

Billy: Okay.

Mac: Okay, I will call you later.

Billy: (Clears throat)

Mac: Happy birthday, Chloe.

Chloe: Thank you so much for coming.

Mac: And it was really nice getting to know you better.

Chance: Same here.

Mac: Okay, bye.

Chloe: Okay, great, bye. You know, I bet you she didn't tell you how, uh, she's volunteering at the homeless shelter. She's just so modest.

Chance: Chloe.

Chloe: Yeah?

Chance: (Chuckles) Whatever you think is happening here, it isn’t.

Chloe: Really?

Chance: Really.

Chloe: Okay. Well, I guess I tried. I'm just a sucker for a good love story. What can I say?

Chance: Yeah, well, so am I.

Chloe: Mm.

Chance: Will you excuse me for a second?

Chloe: Yeah, sure.

Chance: Thanks.

(Sighs)

Chance: (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Phillip: Hello?

Chance: Hi, it's your son Chance.

Phillip: Hi.

Chance: Can we get together?

Phillip: Yeah. Yeah, abs--absolutely.

Chance: How about noon tomorrow, Crimson Lights?

Phillip: Chance, that is great. That is--I will see you there.

Phillip: Hi, uh, this is Phillip Langley. I need to cancel my plane reservation, please.

Chloe: (Clears throat) What was that about?

Chance: That... (Sighs) That was for my mom. It's because I know she's still in love with the guy.

Cane: Happy birthday, and I want to apologize for crashing your party.

Chloe: Well, you didn't bring a present. Ha ha. Surprise. Uh, you know what? I think you made your point, and I think you should just go now.

Cane: All right, listen, this is not about making a point, okay? I'm just trying to find out how Lily is. That's all it is.

Chloe: Great.

(Cell phone rings)

Cane: Devon.

Devon: Yeah.

Cane: How is she?

Devon: She just got out of surgery, and, uh... you can come see her if you want to.

Cane: I'll be right there.

Kay: He wasn't answering.

Cane: It's okay. Devon just called. I'm going over right now.

Jill: Give Lily our love.

Cane: I will, thank you. Thank you.

Jill: (Sighs)

Kay: Whatever it is you said to him, I am so glad.

Jill: (Sighs) Me, too.

Cane: (Sighs) What is your problem?

Billy: What do you think my problem is?

Cane: I don't know, but I've got to go.

Billy: Yeah, you are leaving, and trust me, you are not coming back here. Listen to me. There is no way I'm letting you back in this family. There's no way in hell.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Mary Jane: I've been so alone.

Mac: You're not alone anymore. You have me.

Victor: I do not want to be disturbed.

Jack: Too bad, 'cause this is pretty damn disturbing.

Phyllis: You little bitch. You bitch!

Woman: Oh, my -- let go of me.
