Jill: How could you pretend to be Phillip? How could you make me believe that you were my son?
Kay: Well, speak up, young man. How could you do such a thing to people who have shown you nothing but kindness since you've entered into their lives?
Phillip: He didn't do it. He didn't do it. I did.
Cane: What are you doing?
Jill: No, no, no. This is impossible.
Nina: No, it makes perfect sense.
Murphy: Katherine, are you all right?
Lily: Wait, who is he?
Esther: Oh, my God. It's--
Kay: It's Phillip.
Murphy: Call 9-1-1!
Cane: Katherine. Katherine. Katherine.
Esther: Mrs. C.
Neil: Yeah, we need an ambulance at the-- at the Chancellor estate. 12 Foothill Road. Please hurry.
Cane: I am so sorry, Katherine. I am so sorry.
Murphy: Hey. Hey, you don't get to apologize, not after what you've done. Hang on, Sweetheart. Help is on the way.
(Voices speaking indistinctly)
Neil: (Speaks indistinctly)
Jill: No, what is this? Is this some sort of cruel hoax? Oh, my God. Yeah, you look just like you would have looked if you were still-- but he's dead. Phillip died.
Nina: It's him, Jill. It's you, isn't it?
(Sirens wail)
Phillip: It's me. It's me, but I came back to help. I-I didn't come back to cause this kind of pain.
Esther: Please hurry. She's right over here. Hurry.
Neil: Guys, right over here. Right over here.
Esther: Please.
Woman: How long ago did she collapse?
Cane: A few minutes ago. She's still breathing and her pulse seems strong.
Neil: She had a T.I.A. a couple of nights ago.
Lily: Could it be a stroke?
Woman: We'll know more once we get her in the ambulance.
Murphy: Uh, listen, I'm her husband. I'm gonna come with you.
Nina: Jill!
Jill: Where is he?
Nina: I don't know.
Billy: Mm. Am I dreaming?
Mac: (Laughs)
Billy: (Chuckles)
Mac: Maybe we both are.
Billy: Mm. I can't believe you're here. Are we really together, hmm? I'm not gonna let you go this time.
(Cell phone rings)
Billy: Oh, there's not a chance. No way. Mnh-mnh.
(Cell phones ring)
Billy: (Groans)
Mac: Maybe something's wrong.
Billy: Okay.
(Sighs)
Billy: Who is it?
Mac: Grandma's house. Who's yours from?
Billy: Chloe.
Mac: Hello?
Esther: Mackenzie, I am so glad you're there.
Mac: Esther?
Esther: I-it's Mrs. C. She's on her way to the hospital again. It was--it was just way too much for her, and she fell to the ground, and--
Mac: What? Wait, Esther, slow down. What--what's too much?
Billy: Hello?
Chloe: Billy, you have to get over to Katherine's right now. She collapsed. It's all a lie.
Billy: W-w-what? What's a lie?
Chloe: Your supposed brother. Cane is a fraud.
Billy: How is he a fraud? He passed the D.N.A. test.
Chloe: He faked it.
Billy: How'd he do that?
Chloe: Billy, will you just get over here right now?
Billy: (Sighs) Oh, man.
(Groans)
Nina: He's not on the property. You get him back here. You find a way.
Cane: I didn't even know he was coming to town. This was not part--
Neil: What, wasn't part of your plan? Huh? This insidious scheme that you cooked up to--to, what, manipulate everyone, Cane?
Cane: This was not our intent.
Nina: You really thought that you could get away with this, didn't you? You and Phillip.
Chloe: It's really him? It's your Phillip?
Nina: (Scoffs) It's him. It's his voice, it's his eyes, and we all know it was his blood.
Neil: How'd you manage that one?
Cane: Phillip gave me blood vials. I kept them frozen so I could use them as proof.
Neil: Oh, that's--that's-- that's brilliant. So you could go on perpetuating your lie.
Nina: This is the most vicious-- I don't understand. You know, you had better pray that Katherine is all right.
Olivia: Katherine, I want you to lift your left arm.
Kay: Oh, Olivia, it doesn't seem to want to.
Murphy: (Sighs) So, uh, what are we looking at, Doc?
Olivia: Well, I'm gonna have to look over the tests that we ran, but my guess is, Katherine, you probably had a mild stroke.
Kay: Oh, God.
Murphy: You mean on-- on top of the T.I.A.?
Jill: Oh, my God.
Kay: Well, you know, I don't feel all that ill.
Murphy: Look, Katherine, the other day you were stressed and you wound up in the hospital. Now here you are again, and it's worse this time. Look, the minute I saw Nina confront Cane, I knew that we were in trouble.
Olivia: Wait, Cane?
Jill: Cane is not my son. Um, he duped us. He fooled all of us.
Olivia: What?
Kay: (Clears throat) Uh, well, it seems that young Mr. Ashby is not who he says he was... or is.
Olivia: (Gasps)
Kay: It seems he's part of an ingenious plot to ingratiate himself into our lives.
Jill: Yeah, and we had just found all that out, and then Katherine collapsed.
Olivia: Oh, my God. Lily, how--
Kay: Lily.
(Pager beeps)
Olivia: (Sighs) Oh-- oh. (Sighs) I'm sorry. I'm--I'm gonna have to go to E.R. I-I promise I'll check back once I get the test results.
Kay: Uh, okay. Olivia—
(Door closes)
Kay: I-I don't--I don't know. Uh, uh, w-was it a dream? I--everything about Cane?
Jill: No.
Kay: Well, no. Did I--did I really see Phillip? Did I?
Jill: It all happened. Whether or not he's Phillip, I couldn't tell you. I barely got a chance to talk to him. I mean, he just showed up, and then he took off the minute our backs were turned.
Kay: Jill, how can that be? Phillip has been dead for 20 years.
Jill: Shh. Try to calm down. Try to calm down.
Kay: Oh, how can I be?
Jill: Shh. Shh.
Murphy: Um, would you excuse me for a minute? I, uh, I want to ask the nurse something.
Kay: (Sighs)
Murphy: I'm Katherine's husband. I don't know if you are who you say you are, but you're not going in that room.
Phillip: I don't mean her any harm.
Murphy: Well, it's a little late now.
Phillip: Okay, I'll go.
Murphy: No, you hold it right there. You've got a lot to answer for.
[Cell phone rings]
Murphy: Oh, Nina? It's Murphy. Can you get down to Memorial right away? Guess who just showed up?
Nina: Where are you? 407. Okay, don't let him out of your sight. I'm on my way. That was Murphy. Phillip's at the hospital.
Cane: Lily, please. Can we please talk someplace quiet?
Neil: Cane, you're done. You don't need to say anything, okay?
Chloe: Don't do it, Lily. He's just gonna lie to you some more.
Cane: Please, will you listen to me? Give me a chance to explain. I want to make this right.
Esther: You can't. Now go. Leave. You've done way too much damage.
Cane: Please. Please, just let me explain. Please. Please.
Neil: I'll tell you what, man, we're gonna leave. Are you happy?
Cane: Please?
Neil: Come on, Lily. Let's go.
Chloe: What--what part of "Back off" don't you get?
Cane: Lily.
Chloe: I think you've done enough today.
Cane: Please.
Lily: No, you know what? Wait. (Sniffles) I want to hear what you have to say.
Cane: Thank you. I want you to understand.
Lily: This isn't just for me, Cane. You have lied to everyone here, and we all deserve to know the truth.
Cane: And I'll tell you everything you want to know.
Lily: Well, if you're not Jill's son, then who are you?
Murphy: (Sighs)
Nina: Where is he?
Phillip: Hi. Uh, hi, Nina.
Murphy: I didn't want this guy running off again because there are people who still have some questions.
Phillip: (Sighs)
Murphy: And I don't want Katherine upset, so get him out of here, will you? Go talk somewhere else.
Jill: You're back.
Murphy: (Sighs)
Phillip: I-I was just gonna take off with Nina. We're gonna go somewhere.
Kay: What's going on out there?
Murphy: That is exactly what I wanted to avoid.
Nina: We're leaving.
Kay: Everybody in here now! Or so help me, I swear, I will go out there.
Murphy: Look, Honey, we don't want your blood pressure going through the roof.
Kay: All right, all right. (Stammers) Yes, Darling, I will try my best, but right now, my entire family's life is blown apart again, and I want to sort it out now.
Murphy: Okay. All right. I'll give you your privacy. But if I hear anything going on, I'm gonna have the three of you thrown out.
Jill: We'll keep it as calm as possible.
Murphy: Okay. I want you to do more than just try to keep it.
Jill: Okay.
Murphy: I'll be right outside if you need me.
Kay: Thank you, Darling. You may look like him, and you may have cooked up this terrible scheme with Cane, but you are not our Phillip.
Phillip: I am.
Kay: No, you can't be.
Nina: Katherine, it's him.
Jill: I watched my son die, okay? I saw him die. We were all there when it happened.
Phillip: You saw me lose consciousness. You saw the monitor flat line. But you're right. My life as Phillip Chancellor III ended that very day, and I took off for Australia, where I started a new life.
Kay: How did you meet Cane?
Cane: My name really is Ethan Ashby. I'm from Australia, and I had a horrible childhood, just as I've always told you.
Lily: Yeah, that's all you've ever told me. I guess now I know why.
Billy: Oh, I'm sorry, I got here as fast as I--
Chloe: Yeah.
Cane: I never knew my father, and my mom died when I was a little boy, so I grew up on the streets. And I was lost for most of my life.
Lily: (Sighs) So there was no "Uncle Langley"?
Cane: Phillip has gone by Langley for many years now.
Billy: Hold on, wait. Phillip's, uh--
Esther: Yeah, he's back.
Chloe: Yeah, I'll fill you in later.
Lily: And obviously, you guys aren't related.
Cane: No. I mentioned him in case people heard us talking or if they saw his name somewhere.
Neil: I can't believe you two actually concocted this whole thing.
Lily: (Sighs) Dad, just--
Cane: Lily, when I talked to you about family, I want you to know how much it means to me-- that I meant it. I swear to you on my life that this is the truth. Before I came here, I had nothing. And I didn't believe I could be loved, and I couldn't love anybody back, and you could never understand what loneliness is unless you had my childhood.
Lily: I bought us tickets to Australia as a surprise for our honeymoon. And you talked me out of going. Why? Why? Was it because there really was nothing left for you go back to, or because you couldn't risk me finding out what was really going on?
Cane: It was both. I finally had everything I've ever dreamt of, and I was scared to death I was gonna lose it.
Lily: (Scoffs)
Phillip: I met Cane about five years ago. I own a bar. He came to work for me. We became friends, and we had a lot in common.
Jill: You and Cane.
Phillip: Yeah, we were both isolated as kids, our backgrounds filled with a lot of pain. It made me do some soul-searching for the first time, and I realized, you know, what I had done to you guys-- thinking that I was dead, thinking I was gone forever. So I thought, I'm gonna come up with a plan. I'm gonna bring you peace, make amends.
Kay: Amends? How could you possibly?
Phillip: I know it sounds crazy, but I thought that somehow, I-I would be able to help you heal this way, and I would have helped Cane out, and, uh, I was right.
Nina: About what?
Phillip: You all believed a miracle had happened, that the lost son had been returned. You guys were family. Cane has never been happier in his entire life. It--it--it worked, just like I had hoped. Everything worked... until now.
Cane: Please. I won't ask you to forgive me... not now, because I know there's too much you need to absorb. Will you please look at me? Will you please look at me? I could tell you a thousand times I didn't care about the money or the name, that I never meant to hurt anyone, and you can tell me to go straight to hell, but there's one thing I need to know that you believe. When I told you I loved you, and when I told you the life we're gonna have is everything I ever dreamt of, I meant it. Every single time, I meant it. Because I love you. I love you, and I'll always love you. And I just need to know you believe that.
Lily: You want me to look you in the eye? What about the other day when I asked you to do the same thing? When I asked you if there was anything that you weren't telling me? And you promised me that I had nothing to worry about, that the tests would prove that you were Phillip Chancellor.
Cane: I wanted to tell you. I always wanted to tell you, but I couldn't.
Lily: Oh, please. You had so many chances, Cane. How about when we first got back together? Or on our wedding day? Why didn't you tell me then? Or on our honeymoon when I asked you about your past? Or how about every single day that we lived in that house together? But no. No, you only came clean when Nina proved what a liar you are, when you realized you had no other choice but to tell the truth. And you say that you love me?
Cane: Lily? Lily, just listen to me.
Lily: (Sighs)
Cane: Lily, please--
Lily: No, Dad. Stop.
Neil: You don't touch her...
Lily: I just want to go, okay?
Neil: Okay? You know, what-- what's wrong with you? You don't come around my house. You don't call her. You don't write to her. You stay away from my daughter, you hear me?
Cane: Lily.
Neil: Cane, you stay away from my daughter! Come on, let's go.
Cane: Lily. Lily. Lily--
Billy: Hey, brother.
[Billy hits Cane]
Cane: (Grunts)
Esther: Oh, my--
Chloe: Ooh! Oh, my God.
Esther: Oh, no.
(Winces)
Billy: Since, uh, Neil didn't get the chance, that's for all of us, you son of a bitch.
Esther: Oh, my God.
Mac: Maybe this explains why Billy and Cane had so much friction between them. I guess Billy was right not to trust the guy.
Murphy: Oh, yeah. It's a mess, all right. Look, no matter how this plays out, your grandmother's welfare comes first with me.
Mac: I'm so glad she has you, Murphy, especially now.
Murphy: Yeah, and I'm glad that you're here to help us keep our heads on straight. Oh, boy, things have sure gone haywire, and they don't show any signs of changing real soon.
Kay: You expect me to buy that you sent Cane here as our savior? Well, that's fraud, pure and simple.
Phillip: Cane is not a malicious guy. You know what kind of man he is.
Nina: Yeah, we know he's a liar. I knew there was something wrong with that guy the first time I--
Jill: I don't want to hear anything more about Cane, okay? You expect me to believe that you are Phillip? You've given me no proof of this.
Nina: Jill, open your eyes, okay? It's him.
Jill: Nina, you don't think I want my own child to be alive? Okay, forgive me if I need more than your word for it.
Nina: It seems to me my instincts have been a lot better than yours lately.
Kay: All right, stop it. Stop it, both of you. Both of you. I cannot believe the young man I knew would have faked his own death.
Phillip: It's all e-extremely complicated, and I know that you're probably not gonna want to hear this, but the first thing you should know is the accident that I died in, it wasn't an accident.
Murphy: So it was a minor stroke?
Olivia: Yeah. The C.T. scan confirmed it, and I'd like her to stay a few days.
Mac: I'm gonna go home and get some of her stuff.
Murphy: Oh, that'd be great, Honey. Thank you.
Olivia: Well, I'd better go in and tell Katherine.
Murphy: Uh, could we wait, uh, until we tell Katherine? I mean, uh, you have to go in and examine her? Uh, I mean, you're the boss. I mean, you do what's best.
Olivia: Well, it's not imperative I tell her right this minute, but why?
Murphy: Family meeting.
Olivia: Got it.
Phillip: I remember it so vividly. It was an office party at Chancellor. I'd gotten so wasted.
Jill: God, if I'd known you were drinking again, I--
Phillip: Oh, I was under so much pressure. There were these, uh, two guys, Richard and Burt, and they kept toasting me. "To Phillip! Man, you're doing such a stand-up job! Man, Phillip, you're part of the team." Un-until I wanted to scream, but--but I didn't. I smiled. I played the game, did what I was expected to do, until I said, "You know what? I-I gotta get out of here, guys. I gotta go home." But that's the last place I wanted to go. I got in my car. I was feeling panicked, stressed out. I couldn't breathe, and I kept thinking, this is my life. There's no way out. I'd just gotten this big job to prove my worth as a Chancellor. I was married, married to a woman that my mother despised. A woman that-- that I'd grown to care about, but then you got pregnant and--and--and we have this child. How was I gonna raise a kid? I-I was a kid. I was a kid. I was a teenager. I was a kid trying to do everything you wanted me to do, trying to be who you wanted me to be. And I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it anymore. I was lost. (Inhales deeply) I got in the car. I drove, felt panicked. I sped up, turned the wheel, went over the road, and I felt relief. You know, all this worrying stopped. I was feeling at peace.
Kay: Oh, dear God. It was bad enough thinking it was an accident, but hearing you-- just hearing you were that unhappy--
Jill: No, suicidal. Let's just call it what it was. Phillip wanted to take his own life. You wanted to kill yourself.
Phillip: When I woke up in the hospital, I was so surprised to be alive. And, uh, I didn't want that, uh, so I started to make some arrangements. Money can buy you anything, you know?
Kay: Mm.
Nina: That cop who rode in the ambulance wandered around the I.C.U. all night, disappeared right after that.
Phillip: Yeah, you knew?
Nina: Yeah, well, I figured it out recently when I started digging around.
Phillip: Yeah, he was in trouble financially, and so, uh, a doctor I knew on the staff also needed some financial help at that time. So all--all I cared about was getting free, getting out.
Kay: I know you, uh, turned to alcohol again. Jill, Nina-- they didn't want to believe it, and, um, well, I-- I guess I had a blind side, too, because I thought I could find a way to help you, but, dear God in heaven, you were past that point, weren't you?
Phillip: I was in so much pain, Katherine.
Jill: So, uh, did you just want to spread it around? Did you just want us to endure the agony you were going through? It was worse, Phillip. You made us believe you were dead.
Phillip: I was a teenager.
Jill: (Scoffs)
Phillip: (Stammers) This was a life I didn't want. I-I didn't know how to get out of it. It was, uh, I had a whole life ahead of me. This wasn't it.
Kay: I feel so terrible for that little boy who was so lost for so many years. But let me tell you something. I do not excuse the behavior of a young man who continued to let us suffer for 20 long, long years.
Jill: Yeah, Phillip. Were you trying to punish us?
Phillip: It wasn't like that. No.
Nina: Okay, so you hated us. Fine. I can accept that. We all did things to you that weren't fair. But how could you walk away from your son and never look back? Didn't you care anything about your own child?
Neil: There you go.
Lily: Thanks.
Neil: Anything else you need?
Lily: No.
Neil: (Sighs) Lily, baby girl, I wish I knew what to say.
Devon: Hey, Neil. I got your message. What happened? Lily? Are you okay? What's wrong with you?
Lily: Cane—
(Sobs)
Devon: (Whispers) Come here.
Lily: (Sobbing)
Billy: The way you looked down on Chloe and me, trying to prove that we're unfit to be parents, that we had no morals. Man, talk about a hypocrite. It's...
(Sighs)
Chloe: Yeah, you know, I want to know. You had all this blood stashed away in a freezer, and you could have used some of that when I was pregnant to get yourself off the hook.
Cane: I did. After the lab technician took my D.N.A. in front of you and Lily, I went down to the lab with my wallet and a vial of blood. You can only imagine my shock when it turns out that the same sample was a genetic match for the baby.
Chloe: (Scoffs)
Billy: So you knew this whole time? You knew.
Chloe: Oh, my God.
Cane: The baby's father had to be related to Phillip. Yeah, I knew, and you were the only candidate.
Chloe: Oh, I don't-- I don't get it. When you realized that Billy was Delia's father, why didn't you just go to the lab tech, have them use your D.N.A., and then you would have officially been out of the running as the father? And then you could have been with little precious Lily. I don't get it.
Cane: I couldn't risk having two different genetic profiles on record.
Billy: Oh, was your wallet not fat enough to take care of that one, too?
Cane: Billy, at that point, all I cared about was staying here and being part of this family. And, Chloe, I want you to know, I grew to love that baby, and I couldn't just walk away.
Esther: Oh, everything's always about you, isn't it? You know, you make me sick. I'm never going to forgive you for what you did to my daughter and to Mrs. C. and to--
Billy: And my mother.
Chloe: Yeah. Yeah.
Billy: And to my mother.
Chloe: Really. Really. I mean, I know that Jill can be a royal pain, but she did not deserve this. She didn't.
Billy: Your sob story about your childhood-- man, it does not justify what you did here. You took advantage of my mom for years, for years.
Cane: You know, Billy, if you had been this protective and concerned about--
Billy: No, no, no, no, no. Don't stop. Just say it. What? Say it. Come on.
Cane: She wouldn't have had to fill the void with another son.
Chloe: (Scoffs)
Billy: You should really get out of my sight. I'm serious. You need to walk away. You need to leave this house. You need to leave this family's house. And don't come back. (Slaps Cane's chest) Can you not hear me? Get out! Leave!
Lily: You can say "I told you so" if you want.
Neil: Lily, I wouldn't do that.
Lily: Yeah, but you were right. You know, for a long time, you had issues with Cane. You didn't trust him.
Neil: But then I did, just because he finally managed to convince all of us what a great guy he was.
Lily: (Scoffs) (Sighs) Well, not Billy and not Nina.
Neil: No, not Nina. It's because she had her own reasons for being persistent. The rest of us...
Lily: Were idiots?
Neil: Lily, do not beat yourself up over this, okay?
Lily: (Sniffles) (Sighs) I just finally felt like my life was coming together. I've just been so happy being married to Cane. And now it's all gone, just like that. (Sighs) It's like everything is just so screwed up. I have just been deluding myself this whole time.
Neil: Hey.
Lily: (Sighs)
Neil: It's okay.
Lily: (Sniffles)
Neil: It's okay.
Lily: (Sighs)
Cane: Katherine Chancellor. She--she collapsed at home earlier, and-- and she was brought in. Yeah, I mean, I'd appreciate it if you could just tell me anything about her.
Woman: Sir, I can't give out that information over the phone.
Cane: Okay, can you please tell me at least if she's been admitted?
Woman: Are you her next of kin?
Cane: (Sighs) No, I'm not.
Woman: I'm sorry, Sir. I can't help you.
(Front door opens)
Cane: Lily? Lily?
Devon: (Sighs) I'm here to get Lily's stuff.
(Door closes)
Cane: I'm not gonna give you any trouble.
Devon: Yeah, well, you'd better not.
Cane: All right, look, I-I'm gonna go. I-I-I don't want to watch you pack up my wife's things.
Devon: My heart really bleeds for you.
Cane: Just tell Lily for me that--
Devon: Hey, shut up. I'm not gonna tell Lily anything. I'm not gonna deliver any messages. I really have no interest in what you have to say, okay? You conned my sister. You broke her heart. Just get out of my way.
Esther: Here, Honey. Put this ice on your hand.
Billy: Thank you, Ess.
Chloe: Oh, you should have seen the way that your daddy stood up to Cane. Oh, mean old scam-dog. You know what? On second thought, I'm happy that she was upstairs in her room, right? 'Cause you were safe and sound, away from all the yelling and the screaming.
Esther: I can't believe that Delia slept right through that.
(Scoffs)
Chloe: About the only good thing you can say about what happened today.
Billy: Silver lining-- I might be out one half brother, but, hey, I've got a replacement all lined up.
Esther: Oh, is any of this real?
Billy: Hey.
Mac: Hey.
Esther: Oh, Mac. Did you go to the hospital?
Mac: Yeah, I went right after I got your call.
Billy: How is Grandma?
Mac: Um, it was a mini stroke, but she seems fine.
Esther: Oh, thank God, it isn't any worse.
Mac: Yeah, she's gonna be, um, she's gonna be in the hospital for a few days, so I just-- I came to pack a bag.
Esther: Oh, I-I'll help you.
Mac: Okay. Oh, um, one more thing-- Phillip, if that's who he really is, is at the hospital with Grandma, Jill and Nina.
Esther: Yeah, we heard.
Billy: So, um, how's that going?
Mac: I'm not sure. I didn't-- I didn't ever go in the room, but he was in there when I arrived, and they were still talking when I left.
Billy: Well, I'll bet after he faces those three, he's gonna wish he stayed dead.
Nina: (Sighs) You grew up without a father because he died in a horrible car crash. How could you turn around and-- and do that to your own child? You know, when Phillip was growing up, I told him again and again the story about how his father-- the last day that he spent on this earth-- the last thing he did was reach out to his son and take his hand because that's how much he loved his little boy. I told him that you were in heaven with the angels watching over him. You've made a liar out of me because you wanted to be dead rather than be a part of your son's life. How could you do that? How could you do that to your son?!
Phillip: I did that for our son.
Nina: Oh, you're so full of crap!
Jill: Nina, this isn't helping.
Kay: Both of you, stop it.
Nina: You chose to take off, and you left me alone to raise our son. How selfish can you be?
Phillip: Have you been listening? I was depressed. I was alcoholic. I was suicidal. Is that the kind of father that you wanted?
Jill: He has a point, Nina.
Kay: So does she.
Nina: (Sighs)
Phillip: The only thing worse than leaving would have been staying and--and being a bad father or--or--or just growing to resent him.
Nina: It might not have happened.
Phillip: It already had. By the time that I left, I resented all of you.
Jill: (Sighs)
Billy: If I'd have known what a crook that guy was, I would have never let him near you. No, I wouldn't.
(Chuckles)
Chloe: At least now we know why Cane was such an ass when he first tried to do right by Delia. (Sighs) I mean, he knew I was lying about her paternity, and he just got sucked right in.
Billy: Yeah, he was an ass. Who else would share D.N.A. with Phillip, huh? Come on. Come on. There we go.
Chloe: I know. It's just crazy, Dee, isn't it? It's crazy. Isn't it so crazy?
Billy: Well... (Sighs) One less nut in the family tree. Good riddance, right, Dee Dee?
Chloe: (Laughs)
Billy: Huh?
Chloe: Yeah.
Neil: Yeah, Lily's hanging in there... barely. Okay, hold on a second. Your Aunt Olivia says she'll be over as soon as she finishes work, okay?
Lily: Well, tell her thank you, but she doesn't have to rush over. It's not gonna change anything.
Devon: (Groans) Hey. We're here. Here you go.
Lily: Humphrey.
Devon: (Chuckles)
Lily: Hi, Bubba.
Devon: I got his, uh, his toys and his food and about a tenth of your clothes.
Lily: Was Cane there?
Devon: Yeah, he was, just at first, but he didn't make a scene or anything.
Lily: Well, that's good.
Devon: Poor guy.
Phillip: Oh, I shouldn't have said that about resenting you. Uh, that just-- it blurted out.
Kay: Well, we wanted to understand your motivation back then. Thank you. We certainly got a bit of insight into it.
Phillip: You look tired. Uh, I should go.
Jill: Where are you going, Phillip? Are you gonna just disappear again?
Phillip: No. I promise.
Murphy: Katherine, how are you?
Kay: Don't ask, Murph. Just don't ask.
Jill: We're all pretty shell-shocked in here.
Nina: Here we are again, sitting in a hospital room full of pain and rage and guilt, just like the night we lost him. How's that for irony?
Cane: Have you seen Katherine?
Phillip: Yeah, uh, she's, uh, doing better than expected.
Cane: (Sighs) Thank God. And now you can answer my other question-- what the hell are you doing here?
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Lily: You gave me up, Cane. You chose your secret over me.
Heather: I know that you didn't mean to hurt Summer. We can get you help if you just confess.
Kay: I loved that boy like he was my own. For him to treat me this way, I don't know if I can get past it.
