J.T.: You should be home resting.
Victoria: What? No, I am fine. I am fine, and I have a ton of energy, and if I don't go into work, I am gonna be bouncing off the walls.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Victoria: (Sighs) I know. It's so frustrating putting up with me.
J.T.: If you'd listened to me the other night, you wouldn't have gotten hurt.
Victoria: That's true.
J.T.: You're lucky you just got away with a concussion.
Victoria: (Sighs) I'm lucky that I have you, because you're so sweet and you're so understanding.
J.T.: I do understand. I do. I mean, you feel like you owe Sabrina something.
Victoria: J.T... (Sighs) It would have made her sick-- a con artist selling forged artwork.
J.T.: Yeah, but do you think she'd want you risking your life to bring this guy down?
Victoria: No. No, she was a mother-- I mean, she would have been a mother.
J.T.: All right, well, good. Listen, if Agent Aucker contacts you again, you're not gonna-- Victoria?
Victoria: Um, I'm sorry. I just--I realized the date. It's Dad and Sabrina’s anniversary.
Ashley: So is everything okay? Dr. Taylor? Hello?
Dr. Taylor: Yes. Mother and baby are doing very, very well.
Ashley: Oh, Victor's gonna be glad to hear that.
Dr. Taylor: He's here?
Ashley: Yeah. You can tell him the good news yourself. He's up in Adam's room.
Dr. Taylor: Happy to. Now you keep up the good work, okay?
Ashley: Okay, I'll try.
(Chuckles)
Ashley: All this nonsense with Estella is finished. And now Victor can relax and stop worrying. I know that's what you want for him. You want him to be happy.
Victor: Why are you surprised? I told you that I wanted Dr. Donahue to examine your eyes.
Adam: That was when you thought I was the one terrorizing Ashley. You--you were just trying to prove I'm faking my blindness.
Victor: Wait a minute, son. That's your interpretation. I bought Dr. Donahue's company because I knew that he was involved in stem cell therapy. He's coming up with some experiment that might help your disease.
Adam: I'm not gonna stand for this.
Victor: You mean you're not gonna stand for me spending millions of dollars to help you regain your eyesight?
Adam: Look... (Sighs) It's not that I'm not grateful, but I told you a long time ago. I-I-I gave up hope already.
Victor: (Scoffs)
Adam: Now I'm sorry if I misjudged you, but the accusations that you've been making, uh, th-they've been really hard for me to take.
(Knock on door)
Victor: Son--
Adam: Come in.
Dr. Taylor: Sorry to interrupt.
Victor: Hi. Dr. Taylor, I didn't realize you would be coming back so soon.
Dr. Taylor: Oh, well, I had some business in Chicago.
Victor: Oh.
Dr. Taylor: And I figured while I was in the area, I would, uh, take the opportunity to check on Ashley.
Victor: All right. And -- and you did so?
Dr. Taylor: Yes. She's doing very well.
Victor: That's wonderful. Did you check the baby's heartbeat?
Dr. Taylor: Strong and steady.
Victor: Really? That's wonderful.
Adam: Hey, you know, we haven't had much time to catch up on old times. You want to stick around for a minute?
Victor: Listen, uh, you two talk and, uh, I'll see you downstairs.
Dr. Taylor: All right.
Victor: Thank you.
(Door closes)
Adam: Did you bring it?
Nick: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are you going?
Sharon: Um, let's see. My clothes are over there.
Nick: You don't need clothes.
Sharon: Well, I-I do if we're going to go house hunting.
Nick: What do we need a house for? We have a door with locks and that bed.
Sharon: (Chuckles) No, no. We have to do this. We've gotta do this at some point.
Nick: Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry, you know, I had to cancel on you the other day, but Daniel was arrested, and Phyllis was really freaked out.
Sharon: No problem. I understand. You--you've dropped everything many times for Noah. Do you want to be at Daniel's hearing today?
Nick: He has Michael. There's really nothing I can do for him.
Sharon: So we're really doing this? We're really going to get a place of our own?
Nick: Today, I'm all yours.
Michael: Daniel's bail hearing is first, then Jana’s.
Phyllis: Okay, you know this judge, right?
Michael: She's fair, no axes to grind.
Amber: You think she'll grant bail?
Michael: I'm cautiously optimistic. I'll do what I can to counter the evidence. It's all circumstantial.
Daniel: Yeah, but there's a lot of it, right? I mean, I admitted to painting the forgery, and then my fingerprints are on the murder weapon.
Phyllis: Oh, my God. Shh!
Daniel: And, uh, oh, yeah, let's not forget that my name and number are in the dead guy's cell phone.
Phyllis: Shh.
Daniel: (Whispering) And the money at the coffeehouse? I have no idea who did that.
Man: Romalotti, ready for you.
Amber: Don't say you did.
Jana: Good luck, Daniel.
Jana: (Sighs) God, I am so scared.
Kevin: I know. I know. Me, too. But, hey, you know Michael, right? He's gotten way tougher customers than you out of jail. Remember that silver chipmunk? That dude was hard-core. Hey, this is gonna be over soon.
Jana: (Sighs)
Kevin: I promise. We get to go home, okay?
Jana: (Sighs) Damn it, Taylor.
Dr. Taylor: I can just guess what you're planning to do with it. You'd have to be out of your mind.
Adam: Is that concern I hear in your voice?
Dr. Taylor: (Chuckles) No, I just don't want you blaming me when it goes wrong.
Adam: It hasn't been a problem so far.
Dr. Taylor: You've done it before?
Adam: Yeah. I've fooled two ophthalmologists already. I need to fool a third.
Dr. Taylor: And your vision returned completely?
Adam: Uh, I don't know yet. I haven't had enough time between injections. Ahh.
Dr. Taylor: You could be doing permanent damage.
Adam: What, are you an eye doctor now? Just remember, you won't be any kind of doctor once I tell the medical board what I know.
Dr. Taylor: It might be worth it just to see you go down.
Adam: I'm not worried. You have an instinct for self-preservation, just like me.
Ashley: You realize now that Estella’s been behind all these things. And I was just starting to think that I was wrong about her. But to even think that Adam, your own son, could have anything to do with it is just too horrible.
Victor: Sweetheart, it's very difficult to conceive of Estella doing anything so cruel. I mean, I never, ever detected even a slight bit of cruelty in her character, ever.
Ashley: Well, she must have some kind of a Sabrina fixation. And, um, maybe you're thinking about Sabrina today. It's your anniversary.
Victor: I didn't realize you knew.
Ashley: And you weren't gonna mention it, were you?
Victor: No. Why should I mention it?
Ashley: I'm going to town.
Victor: You're going to town?
Ashley: Yes. (Sighs) I made an appointment at a spa for a prenatal massage, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Victor: (Sighs) Are you doing this for me?
Ashley: Yes.
Victor: You are?
Ashley: I think you need the time alone. And I don't want you to be holding back because you think I'm fragile or I feel threatened by Sabrina.
Victor: That's very nice of you.
Ashley: (Chuckles) Well, you know, Sabrina gave you so much. I think I can manage to give her a day.
Victor: You know something?
Ashley: Hmm?
Victor: That's very sweet of you. It really is.
Ashley: I'm very much in love with you-- makes it easy. You've got a day. I'll see you.
Nick: The things you make me feel.
Sharon: Mm, I know. Me, too.
Sharon: (Sniffles)
(Sighs)
Nick: Hey, what's wrong?
Sharon: Nothing, I-- it's nothing.
Nick: Tell me.
Sharon: I-I can’t. If I say it out loud, I--
Nick: Sharon, just say it. What's wrong?
Sharon: I just-- everything is just so wonderful. I-I-- I don't want to say anything.
Nick: Look, nobody's gonna take anything from you.
Sharon: I used to believe that. And then Cassie, and then you...
Nick: (Sighs) Look, I can't promise you that a tragedy's never gonna happen again, but I can promise you that I'm never gonna willingly walk away from you again. So you're stuck with me, whether you want me or not, so can you deal with that?
Sharon: I think I can find a way.
Nick: Oh, okay. You know, first one in the shower gets to pick the house.
Sharon: (Gasps) Oh!
Nick: Move it.
Heather: The evidence will show that Daniel Romalotti conspired to defraud a nonprofit organization and subsequently murdered his coconspirator, heretofore known as Thomas Balfour for clarification purposes.
Judge: Now am I to understand the victim has still not been identified?
Heather: That is correct, your honor.
Judge: Please continue.
Heather: After Daniel Romalotti shot Thomas Balfour, he then made off with roughly $100,000 of federal funds. Therefore, the state is charging him with conspiracy, fraud, malfeasance, obstruction of justice and one count of murder in the first degree. Due to the violent and serious nature of these crimes, the state asks that bail be denied.
Michael: (Sighs) Your honor, the evidence Miss Stevens is referring to is entirely circumstantial. Daniel Romalotti was not conspiring with Thomas Balfour. He was just another in a long line of victims. (Sighs) He was, in fact, the first to report the man's criminal behavior to the authorities. Mr. Romalotti simply wanted justice and now for his efforts has been made a scapegoat. Your honor, this is a promising artist with a bright future. He has no reason to commit a crime of this nature and certainly not the inclination. He has no history of violence. We therefore request that the bail be assessed accordingly.
Jana: God, I'm such an idiot. (Sighs) If only I hadn't told Daniel that that meeting was gonna be in the alley, maybe none of this would have even happened.
Kevin: You couldn't have seen that coming.
Jana: (Sighs) There are so many things that I should have done differently. God, I should have told Victoria right away that that painting was a bloody fraud.
Kevin: Yeah, and then that guy would have made good on his threat and gone after Daniel. He could be dead right now.
Jana: Don't say that.
Kevin: Well, then stop blaming yourself. You didn't do anything wrong. We're gonna get the judge to see that, okay? We will.
Jana: (Sighs) Kev, if I do have to go to jail, even if it's just for a little while--
Kevin: Don't, Jana. Don't--don't even go there.
Jana: Look, I'm just saying, we need to have some sort of a contingency plan. You're going to need help at the coffeehouse--
Kevin: I'm serious. I'm serious, okay? No. No, we're not gonna even talk like this.
Jana: (Sighs)
Kevin: You didn't do anything wrong. You are an innocent bystander in all this. Daniel--Daniel's the one who should be worried.
Jana: You think he'll be convicted?
Kevin: I don't know. I don't know. It depends on the jury, whether or not they buy his story that he was caught up in some government sting operation.
Jana: Well, he was. He was convinced that--that--
Kevin: By what, Jana? By what? A fake I.D.? A-a phony badge? What?
Jana: God, you sound like you're angry with him or something. Kevin, Daniel had no idea what was going on.
Kevin: I just wish that he would have looked out for you a little more, okay?
Jana: (Sighs)
Kevin: Or--or told me so that I could have looked out for you. Somebody should have had your back.
Michael: My client has strong ties to the community. He's very close to his family. His mother holds a position--
Heather: None of which stopped him from running before. The last time the defendant faced serious charges, he jumped bail and fled to California.
Phyllis: Wait, wait, wait. Object to that. That's prejudicial.
Michael: No, no. Shh.
Phyllis: She can't do that.
Heather: He had to be found with law enforcement and forcibly brought back...
Michael: Let me do my job.
Phyllis: W-wait a second.
Heather: To face vehicular manslaughter.
Phyllis: He was going to see his father. He was going-- say something, Michael.
Judge: Is there a problem, Counselor?
Michael: Yes, your honor. The prosecution is deliberately misrepresenting the facts. Yes, the charges that my client faced as a teenager were indeed serious, but they were also wholly without merit and eventually dismissed...
Heather: My point...
Michael: As Miss Stevens well knows.
Heather: Is that he tried to jump bail, and there's no reason to think that he won't do it again. We're not talking about a teenager anymore. We're talking about a cold-blooded murderer who should not be allowed to roam free.
Sharon: How can this be? This is a 5,000-square-foot house. It only has three bedrooms, and look. The kids' rooms are really tiny, and they're off on a wing by themselves.
Nick: Yeah, those kids will never visit their parents in the nursing home. And that staircase, I mean, do they even make baby gates that wide?
Sharon: Well, this is gonna be harder than we thought.
Nick: No, no, no, no. We'll find something.
Sharon: You know, all I want is a simple house that says, "All are welcome."
Nick: So you want a talking house?
Sharon: Mm-hmm.
Nick: Okay, yeah, that narrows it down.
Sharon: You know what I mean.
(Chuckles)
Nick: I do. You're making room in your life for everyone-- for Summer and Daniel, Phyllis.
Sharon: Well, we have two families now. That's just the reality, and--and they have to make room for this little one.
Sharon: Nick?
Nick: (Sighs) I was just thinking about my dad. I mean, he was always trying to re-create his family, start fresh, like with Adam and Sabrina. It was a balancing act, but somebody always felt left behind.
Sharon: So we know what not to do.
J.T.: You don't talk about Sabrina much, but there's still some unfinished business there, right?
Victoria: I feel like I never really made amends.
J.T.: Yeah, but don't you think she knows wherever she is, how sorry you are?
Victoria: (Sighs)
J.T.: I mean, your father-- he forgave you. What, you don't think so?
Victoria: There's a mistrust there. It's under the surface, but it's there.
J.T.: (Sighs) Victoria, I don't get that.
Victoria: Do you think I'm making it up?
J.T.: No, I don’t. I just--
Victoria: You know, it's really not easy for me to talk about. If you're gonna argue with everything that I have to say--
J.T.: Victoria, I'm on your side, okay?
Victoria: (Sighs) I can't go into work today. I'm going to see my dad.
Victor: Only a year ago, you were my bride. Such a short time... I was so in love with you. You had such an impact on me. I wonder what our life would have been like, what our baby would have grown up to be. I built this statue of you because I wanted you close to me. But, you know, I'm with Ashley now. Life is so strange sometimes. Because of your death, Ashley has been brought into my life. And I have to let you go now. I've loved you very much. (Whispering) Good-bye. Good-bye. You've given me a lot of happiness.
Victor: (Normal voice) Tim?
Victor: Would you kindly remove this statue by this afternoon? Thank you.
Sharon: Okay, back to work.
Nick: Sure. You know, it's too bad Victoria and J.T. are in our old place.
Sharon: Mm, I don't know. I think it's good. You know, we never lived off on our own off the ranch.
Nick: Well, I guess it was kind of like playing house.
Sharon: You know, some of these houses are just too, mm, I don't know, grown-up. I don't need to impress anybody. I just want someplace that's warm and cozy, something that has a big kitchen so the kids can do their homework when I'm cooking.
Nick: Mm-hmm. This one has five bedrooms. There's a mother-in-law suite. Check out this bonus room off the master. That could be a nursery.
Sharon: Are you serious?
Nick: Yeah, I mean, they're saying exercise room. I'm thinking nursery. Look.
Sharon: (Gasps) Oh, my gosh. Look at the yard. The kids would love to play there.
Nick: Yeah, I mean, this could be where your mom stays when she comes to visit us.
Sharon: Mm-hmm.
Nick: Right there, that could be Faith's room.
Sharon: Faith?
Nick: Yeah, that's our baby. That was-- that was the name of our daughter that we had in that dream that Cassie came to visit me to show me what my life would be like someday.
Sharon: Oh, Nick.
Nick: So what do you think? Huh? You like that one?
Sharon: Yes.
(Laughs)
Nick: Yes, you can have a pony. All right, she's-- she's sold.
Sharon: (Laughs)
Nick: She's--she's sold.
Sharon: Oh, look, it even has a basement.
(Gasps)
Nick: She is sold. Yeah, hey, Becky. Yeah, Nick Newman. I'm good. How are you? Good. So we are looking at this place on Rampart Lane, and we think we like it. Yeah, is there any chance we could get in and see it today? Cool. Yeah, just--just call us back. Okay, bye. Faith, I think we found you a home.
Judge: Mr. Romalotti, am I to presume from what I heard today that you feel you were justified in running the last time you were charged with a crime?
Daniel: No, your honor.
Judge: The charges were unfair. You were innocent.
Daniel: All the more reason for me to stand and defend myself.
Woman: I'm going to grant the defendant bail.
Michael: Thank you, your honor.
Judge: Bond is set at $1 million.
Heather: Thank you, your honor.
Michael: Uh, I request that the--the court reconsider the amount.
Judge: These are very serious charges, Mr. Baldwin.
Michael: Um, my client is an artist. He's just starting out. 10% of $1 million is more than he's made in his entire career.
Judge: You are Daniel Romalotti Jr., son of the international recording star?
Phyllis: Oh, wow, what is this, a shakedown?
Heather: He's also son of Phyllis Newman, as in the Newman family.
Judge: We're done here. The defendant will remain in custody till bail is made.
Michael: (Sighs)
Daniel: (Sighs)
Phyllis: I've got this, Honey.
Daniel: No. No, you don't have this. Just--I'll be fine. I'll stay here in jail. I'll be okay.
Amber: No. No, he won’t.
Phyllis: Listen, I've got this. You're coming home.
Amber: Well, they set bail.
Daniel: Yeah, at $1 million.
Jana: Oh, no.
Kevin: That's insane.
Amber: Well, you only have to come up with 10%, though.
Kevin: Well, that's still a huge amount of money. How are you gonna come up with that?
Daniel: I'm not. I'm serious. I'm not, Mom.
Michael: The fact that bail was set at all is a good sign for you.
Phyllis: Whew. Yeah.
Michael: Your crimes are less serious, and, uh, you are not the offspring of a celebrity.
Kevin: Good. So this means her bail will be set lower.
Michael: One might hope.
Man: Mr. Baldwin.
Michael: Yes? Oh, okay. Here we go.
Kevin: It's okay. It's okay.
Daniel: Mom. Mom, listen to me. I do not want you doing anything about this, all right? And I definitely don't want you calling Dad.
Phyllis: I don't care what you want. You're coming home. I'm taking care of this. Excuse me.
Daniel: Mom--
Amber: Daniel, no. You let her do this. You have to get out of jail so we can find out who really killed that guy. I mean, the feds, they're not gonna help you. You saw Aucker in there. He's perfectly happy to pin this on you.
Daniel: But we don't even know where to start. I don't know the guy's real name. I don't know who he was working with.
Amber: So you think this guy has partners?
Daniel: Yeah, absolutely. Somebody knew what he was up to, and they knew where to find him, too. When we were in that alley, he was scared. He was scared before he even saw who was there.
Amber: Well, whoever did this definitely didn't do it for the money. You know, they gave up $100,000 just so you would look guilty.
Daniel: So that means they're either so rich that they don't care, or that this was their plan the entire time-- framing me.
Michael: Your honor, Mrs. Fisher owns and operates a successful business along with her husband. They have a secure and loving marriage. She's not going anywhere. Her connection to the crimes in this case is peripheral and accidental. The evidence against her is so slight, it can barely be seen with the naked eye. Yes, the stolen money was found at her place of business, but that same place of business is frequented by hundreds of people daily. It is ridiculous that these charges were ever filed, but they have been. So, your honor, I request that bail be set at a reasonable level.
Heather: (Clears throat) Mrs. Fisher's a sweet young thing. Or--or so it would seem, to be the entirety of Mr. Baldwin's defense. And, indeed, you know, by looking at her, you'd never know that she's an admitted murderess.
Michael: All right, objection, your honor. That charge was vacated.
Heather: Uh, yes. Yes, it was, because Mr. Baldwin concocted a very, very clever defense. Um, but wasn't it that Mrs. Fisher walked away from charges of murder, attempted murder, arson...
Michael: All of which is irrelevant.
Heather: Criminal damage--
Michael: My client is not being charged with killing anyone.
Heather: True. True. No one is saying that Mrs. Fisher fired the weapon herself because she conveniently placed herself in sight of Agent Aucker at the exact time that the crime occurred. In fact, if you were to trace a diagram of all of Mrs. Fisher's connections to this case, it looks a bit like a-- like a spider web. Mrs. Fisher was aware that Daniel Romalotti had painted a copy of the stolen masterpiece. In fact, she was present when it was offered for purchase to Victoria Newman. She, in fact, encouraged its sale, without, of course, revealing to the buyer that she knew it was a fake.
Michael: Thomas Balfour threatened her.
Heather: And then she informed Daniel Romalotti of the exact time and the exact place of the sale while she was waiting for him, but just on the other side of the wall while the murder took place.
Michael: Supposition, your honor.
Heather: And then later that evening, Agent Aucker found them together, and it looked to him as if they were going to run.
Michael: Supposition.
Judge: I've heard enough. A previous arrest for murder is sufficient reason to deny bail.
Kevin: What?! Come on! Come on, Michael, this is so unfair. She didn't do anything!
Jana: Kevin--
Michael: I'll take care of this, Kevin.
Kevin: No. No. You-- you don't--no one is gonna lay a hand on her. She's not going back to jail.
Michael: You have to pull it together. Pull it together. Look, I will move to-- for a quick trial. She'll be out soon. She will be out soon, I promise you.
Jana: (Sighs)
Michael: It's--
Kevin: Jana?
Jana: (Sniffles)
Kevin: Oh, God. Jana.
Jana: (Whimpers)
Kevin: (Sighs) Jana. Don't let them do this, Michael. She can't go back to jail.
Victor: Hi, Sweetheart.
Victoria: Hi, Dad.
Victor: Hi, Sweetheart.
Victoria: Hi. I thought I'd missed everyone.
Victor: Well, I was taking a walk.
Victoria: To Sabrina’s statue?
Victor: How'd you know?
Victoria: It's your anniversary. I might go out there later myself. I go there sometimes. Did I tell you that?
Victor: I didn't know.
Victoria: I feel her presence there.
Victor: Me, too.
Victoria: I feel it in this house sometimes, too.
Victor: To be honest with you, sometimes I feel this house is a little haunted.
Victoria: Haunted?
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Victoria: What, did Ashley say that?
Victor: No. Ashley has been very respectful of my feelings for Sabrina. In fact, sometimes I think a little bit too respectful.
Victoria: Dad, you loved her.
Victor: But now I think it's time to let go.
Victoria: Let go?
Victor: Well, I think it's unfair to Ashley, you know? I've started a new life with her, and she shouldn't always feel that I'm still sometimes thinking about Sabrina. So...
Victoria: What are you doing?
Victor: (Sighs)
Victor: (Sighs) Sabrina is no longer here, and I've moved on.
Victoria: You're just gonna forget about Sabrina? What are you trying to do? Are you just gonna wipe every trace of her from your life? What about the--the statue? Is that going?
Victor: I don't need all those things to remember Sabrina by.
Victoria: You don't want to remember her. You want to move on. That's what you just said.
Victor: Why are you so upset?
Victoria: You know, if you and Ashley are having problems, this is not going to solve them.
Victor: Why are you so upset?
Victoria: People love you, Dad. They open up their hearts to you, and then when you're done with them, you just dismiss them like they don't even exist. Sabrina deserved better than that.
Victor: You know damn well Sabrina has moved on. I'm living with Ashley now, okay? None of this is my fault. I'm not gonna give up thinking about Sabrina. I mean, look, I don't know what you're talking about.
Victoria: You don't want this anymore, right? Can I have it, please?
Victor: Yes.
Victoria: Thank you.
Ashley: Oh, hi, Victoria.
Victoria: I hope you're satisfied now.
(Door closes)
Victor: (Mouthing words)
Nick: We're on our way.
Sharon: Right now?
Nick: Let's go see our new house.
Sharon: Nick, don't get my hopes up.
Nick: Well, aren't they already?
Sharon: I just-- I can't count on this being Faith's room, and I can't count on this even being Faith. It might not be your child.
Nick: (Sighs) You can think whatever you want, but I know that little girl in there is mine, and today, I'm gonna buy my daughter a new house. So if you would like to come with me, then let's roll.
Sharon: (Laughs)
Phyllis: Oh. Hi, um, am I interrupting?
Nick: Uh, no. Is everything okay? Is--is Daniel all right?
Phyllis: Um, I need your help.
Amber: How high was the bail?
Jana: Denied.
Daniel: What do you mean, "Denied"? Why?
Jana: My record.
Kevin: Hey.
Jana: (Sighs) God, Kevin.
Kevin: This isn't happening.
Jana: (Sniffles) Look, you're gonna be all right, okay?
Kevin: Mm-hmm.
Jana: Amber and Daniel are gonna help you.
Kevin: Mm-hmm.
Amber: Yeah, whatever you need.
Michael: Jana.
Daniel: Michael, really?
Michael: All right, listen. Heather has had it in for Jana since the last time.
Amber: What is her problem?
Jana: She thinks I got away with murder.
Daniel: Yeah, but you weren't responsible for your actions.
Kevin: She's not responsible this time, either.
Jana: Kevin, it's--it's--
Kevin: You got her into this, you get her out.
Michael: All right, be nice to her.
Jana: Oh, God.
Amber: You--you know what? It's okay. He's just really freaked out.
Daniel: No. No, he's right. I gotta figure out who's behind this. Aucker. Do you know who the guy was that died? I mean, do you have a name? Do you have anything?
Aucker: So you're gonna find the real killer now, huh?
Amber: You should be doing that.
Aucker: Yeah, two guys walked into the alley. One walked out.
Daniel: Three guys walked into that alley. Three.
Aucker: Right, right, right. It's the guy in the ski mask that no one saw except you. I-I-I think that when the jury hears that, they're gonna come to the same conclusion I did. It's all a bunch of bull.
Michael: All right, gentlemen, let's save it for the trial, please.
Aucker: Yeah, believe me. I can't wait.
Amber: You know, we--we're gonna find out what really happened.
Daniel: How? I don't have a clue who would want to do this to me.
J.T.: So where's the portrait now?
Victoria: It's in my car. We're gonna hang it in our house.
J.T.: All right. That's, uh, that's good. I mean, if your father wants to come visit it, he can.
Victoria: He doesn't want to come visit it, okay? He wants to pretend like Sabrina never existed.
J.T.: Hey, did he actually say that?
Victoria: Look, you're doing it again. You're challenging me.
J.T.: No, it's-- I'm not challenging you. It's just people grieve in different ways.
Victoria: Well, he's not grieving, all right? He wants to pretend like Sabrina never existed, and he wants to cut her out of his heart. It's very typical.
J.T.: Is this about more than just Sabrina?
Victoria: What are you saying? It's my problem? You're making this about me?
J.T.: Victoria, no. I'm not.
Victoria: No, don't "Victoria" me. It's obvious where you stand.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Ashley: Does Victoria think that I'm trying to pressure you into forgetting about Sabrina?
Victor: You know, to be honest with you, it's very hard to know what she was thinking in there. She seemed almost incoherent, for heaven's sake.
Ashley: Well, she obviously has some unresolved issues where Sabrina’s concerned.
Victor: As does someone else I know. That's why you gave me the time to be alone, didn't you? Hmm?
Ashley: (Patting Victor) I noticed you took the portrait down.
Victor: Mm-hmm. It was time.
Ashley: Did you do that for me?
Victor: Yes-- for you, for me, for our family, for that little baby. That's all I'm gonna pay attention to now is you and this baby. Come here.
Adam: Oh, my God!
Nick: $1 million bail? Why is it so high?
Phyllis: Because I'm a Newman... in name only. So, uh, since divorce proceedings are moving along, uh, I need your permission to access the money from our account.
Nick: Of course. Take the money, whatever you need.
Phyllis: Thank you.
Nick: I would like to speak to Daniel, though.
Phyllis: Okay. He'll appreciate that-- your support.
Nick: Well, of course he has my support, but I want to talk to him and let him know that I'm really putting my trust in him.
Phyllis: Um, what's--what-- (sighs) What's that supposed to mean? You think he's gonna take off?
Nick: Well, I realize he was a kid the last time he did this, but...
Phyllis: You--you recall the reason he left town was because you ran him out of town. Don't you remember that? I mean, he was scared of you. You know--you know, he almost didn't get bail today because-- I-I don't--forget about it. You know what? No, not forget about it. (Sighs) Let me tell you something. I find it, um, sort of crazy that you're gonna lecture my son about running away when that's all you ever do. I mean, that's what you're doing right now here, isn't it? I mean, you call it "Creating a new life," "Creating a new family," "Starting over." That's what you're doing? Call it what you wish, but it's cowardly.
(Door closes)
Amber: There's gotta be something you can do for Jana.
Michael: Well, I have to make a few phone calls. I'll be back to check on your bail situation.
Daniel: Go. Just go.
Amber: Okay. Okay, as soon as your mom gets you out of here, we're gonna start digging.
Daniel: We don't have that much to go on.
Amber: We didn't when Mrs. C. disappeared either, did we?
Daniel: You know, this is a little different ball game than the Clint Radison thing. I mean, you said yourself. You know, there's money behind this, right? And brains. That means someone took the time to set this up-- reeled me in, set me up. And who would do that to me? I mean, I don't have any enemies... do I?
Man: Bad news-- the girl was denied bail. But Romalotti will be out as soon as he posts bond.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Dr. Donahue: Your son doesn't have retinitis pigmentosa.
Victor: He's been faking it all along?
Noah: Can you keep a secret? I'm thinking about divorcing my parents.
Daniel: We gotta get the victim's cell phone.
Kevin: The one that the feds have.
