Nina: Hi, Cane. Thanks for fitting me in.
Cane: Hey, hey, not a problem. Um, I don't have much time, but I could tell it was important to you, so...
Nina: Oh, you could tell that from the 15, 20 messages I left you? I'm sorry. Subtlety is not my strongpoint.
Cane: (Laughs) So I understand that you want to get some, uh, background or something for this screenplay you're writing, right?
Nina: Yeah, it's important I get the details right.
Cane: Okay, well, I don't have much time because I have to get back to the bar, so...
Nina: Oh, I would have been happy to meet you there.
Cane: I don't think that would work. There's a lot of distractions, so...
Nina: Okay, well, good. I'm glad I've got your full and undivided attention.
Cane: Okay.
(Clears throat)
Billy: I didn't think you'd come.
Chloe: Yeah, neither did I.
Billy: No Delia?
Chloe: No. I gotta keep a clear head 'cause when I see her in your arms, it kind of makes my brain go to mush.
Billy: I miss her.
Chloe: Yeah, I know. We'll work something out.
Billy: I want us to work out.
Chloe: Well, today you do, because you're lonely. Mac's engaged. Your brother is disgusted with you, sleeping with the woman that he loves. You can't talk to your family about it, so don't worry about it. Plenty of girls. Random hookups. They won't care about your past.
Billy: And they won't care about me, either.
Chloe: I mean, that's what you want, right? No pressure, no expectations.
Billy: Honey, what is this? Is this reverse psychology here?
Chloe: No, no. It's me getting a freaking clue.
Billy: Look, I stopped drinking. I stopped chasing Mac around. Maybe that's what I needed, just to hit bottom.
Chloe: Yeah, and maybe you were just sick and tired of being hung-over.
Billy: All right...
Chloe: And getting the smack down.
Billy: I'm confused. I mean you're the one who told me that I needed to get my act together if I were gonna get you back. Now I've done that, I'm doing that, and now you're pissed about it.
Chloe: Really? Is--is that what you're doing? Because it seems-- it seems like-- like you're just checking in with your parole officer or something. You know, that's-- that's not who I wanted to be in your life, Billy. I wanted to be the person who made you laugh. Mission accomplished, though, right? I'm sure you were laughing your ass off, laughing your ass off thinking of me while I was saying all of those heartfelt-- heartfelt wedding vows in front of my matron of honor, who you had just slept with.
Billy: Chloe, just stop. Just stop, just stop. Come on.
Chloe: You know, that's probably when she got pregnant. It's probably when it happened. Wow, what a wedding gift. It's great-- great wedding gift. I wonder how many more of those there'll be. And Delia--well, she's just gonna have a very hectic social life with all those birthday parties. You know, that's never the life that I wanted for her or for me. And don't you dare tell me you knew what you were getting into. Bull--because I swear to God, you say that one more time, I will rip out your vocal cords.
Billy: Just cut to the chase. Okay? What-- what do I need to do to get you back? What are you telling me, that there's-- there's not a chance?
Chloe: I think maybe I am.
Billy: (Grunts)
(Door closes)
Mary Jane: Phyllis isn't answering? I--she's probably on the other line. I really did just meet with her.
J.T.: That still doesn't explain what you were doing lurking outside of my house.
Mary Jane: L-lurking? I'm sorry if it looked that way. I-I was sightseeing. I saw the ranch in "Architectural Digest," and here I am in person. I-I couldn't resist. Mm? I-I'm--I'm very, very sorry for intruding on your privacy. Do you want to walk me up to Phyllis’s? She could vouch for me.
J.T.: No, no, that's not necessary.
Mary Jane: Okay.
J.T.: Next time, why don't you just arrange it through--?
Mary Jane: I-I'll arrange it through Phyllis, yeah...
J.T.: Perfect.
Mary Jane: And she'll give me the tour, yeah. Sorry again.
J.T.: Hey, it's me. Sorry I got delayed, but I'll be there in a second. Don't make a move without me.
Victoria: Hey, can I-- can I get another soda?
Man: Sure.
Victoria: Thanks.
Aucker: Not a smart idea to leave a briefcase with $100,000 sitting in it unattended.
Victoria: Would you rather I carry it with me and draw attention to it?
Aucker: (Sighs) Tell me what's going on. Has he made contact?
Victoria: I'm wearing a wire. I think you would've heard.
Aucker: Well, he might have texted.
Victoria: Well, he hasn’t.
Aucker: Why don't you call him?
Victoria: Thanks. No, not yet. I want to wait for J.T.
Aucker: As long as your husband stays out of the way. I won't have my agents or this mission compromised.
(Door slams)
Kevin: What are you up to?
Amber: Are you meeting Daniel?
Jana: Did you follow me here?
Kevin: Yeah, I heard you leaving Daniel a message.
Amber: Yeah, you said you were worried about him.
Aucker: This better be a coincidence.
Amber: Who's that guy?
Kevin: Yeah, who's that guy? What the hell's going on?
Daniel: Aucker-- Balfour-- whatever the hell your name is-- I know you're out here!
Thomas: Well, well. So I see your friend Jana didn't keep her mouth shut like I told her to.
Daniel: Yeah, well, she wasn't about to let you pass off a forgery, and neither am I. I want my painting back.
Thomas: Current bid's 100k.
Daniel: (Scoffs) You're not selling it. Give it back to me, or I'll take it.
Thomas: (Laughs) Don't move.
Nina: You know who really intrigues me is Violet Montgomery. What can you tell me about her?
Cane: Um, not a lot, really. She died when I was just a baby.
Nina: I understand, but she was your mother-- at least that's what you thought. You must have asked questions, or...
Cane: Well, I, you know, I probably did when I was little, but... (Sighs) Look, it was a sad story, and like most sad stories, you know, people don't want to talk about it, so you grow up learning not to ask about it, you know?
Nina: Okay, um, all right. Sh-she was a flight attendant?
Cane: Yeah, yeah. She was a flight attendant, yeah.
Nina: Uh-huh, and she died...
Cane: Pneumonia. She died of pneumonia.
Nina: You really don't like talking about your childhood, do you?
Cane: Look, Nina, my childhood really wasn't the happiest of times. If you want to ask me about now, I'll talk your ear off, though.
Nina: Okay, something more recent then.
Cane: Okay.
Nina: Um, Amber.
Cane: Amber, okay. Amber, yeah.
Nina: The two of you were close when you first moved to Genoa City, I understand?
Cane: (Laughs) Amber told you that, right?
Nina: No, actually, she's been quite reticent on the subject.
Cane: Um, what I'm not getting is if this movie is about Katherine-- I mean, I just kind of played like a really small part in her life, so what's the...
Nina: Well, yeah, that's the thing about writing. You kind of gotta go with the drama and, you know, who knows? This could end up being a movie about you.
Chloe: Hi.
Kay: Hello, there. Sit down.
Chloe: Oh, uh, isn't Murphy...
Kay: Oh, he had to leave. Um, the elks are very demanding.
Chloe: Oh.
(Laughs)
Kay: Are you, uh, meeting someone for dinner?
Chloe: Um, no. (Sighs) Actually, I came to talk to you. I know, I know, I see you at the house all the time, but, uh, I wanted to talk to you without my mom around.
Kay: Mm.
Chloe: You know, she's such a romantic.
Kay: So this is about Billy.
Chloe: (Sighs) I don't know what to do.
(Sighs)
Kay: And your daughter's future is hanging in the balance.
Chloe: Exactly. I mean, if this were just me we were talking about, that's easy. That's a done deal. I'll get my heart broken, and I'll move on. There are plenty of other guys out there, but-- but Delia's got one daddy, and if he doesn't pull through, I'm just so afraid that she-she's gonna end up as big of a screw-up as I am.
Kay: You think Billy has it in him to pull through for her?
Chloe: Well, I did. I did. And then...
Kay: Mm-hmm. And then I found out that Sharon is pregnant. And Billy...
Kay: Oh, no. No. No, no, no.
Chloe: Well, maybe, maybe. They don't know yet.
Kay: Oh, God. When will he ever learn?
Chloe: (Sighs) Well, I'm afraid that I might be partly responsible for it.
Kay: You?
Chloe: I just-- I've pushed him so much, but I really needed him to step up. But what am I gonna do? Am I gonna walk around life, you know, just being afraid to ask him to take out the trash too many times, or he's gonna, I don't know, seduce the babysitter?
Kay: No. No, you certainly can’t.
Chloe: So he said that he was sorry.
Kay: Mm-hmm.
Chloe: He's sorry, and he has hit rock bottom. (Sighs) I don't know. Who am I to judge, right? I mean, I have done some horrible things, but I'm really trying to be a better person.
Kay: And, yes, you have made some humongous mistakes, but if you believe for one moment that you can change Billy, my dear, that is going to be your biggest mistake.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Billy: (Clears throat) Hey, Mac. Um... do you mind?
Mac: No, not at all. Your timing's perfect. You're gonna get such a kick out of this.
Billy: What?
Mac: I was going through the attic, making room for Murphy’s fishing gear, and I found that.
Billy: A scrapbook?
Mac: Mm-hmm.
Billy: You made this?
Mac: Yeah.
Billy: Wow. Oh, my gosh. Look at this stuff. Oh. (Laughs) Look at us. Tell me I didn't walk around with this lovesick look on my face.
Mac: I liked it.
Billy: You really got everything in here. You have newspaper clippings from the school newspaper. You've got notes people passed you.
Mac: Mm-hmm. Some of them are from you.
Billy: Wow. Prom. When you walked in that room that--that night, everybody--not just me, but everybody had to stop and stare.
Mac: It was a good time.
Billy: Yeah, it was the best. It was the best of times. It's ironic because I was in such a hurry to grow up.
Mac: I remember.
Billy: Can I ask you something?
Mac: Yeah.
Billy: How come I never saw this before?
Mac: I was saving it.
Billy: Yeah? When? For when?
Mac: I had it packed to take on our honeymoon.
(Laughs)
Billy: Yeah, that would've been fun. Good times. This would've been great to show the kids, right?
Mac: Speaking of kids, I think, um, Delia really misses her dad. I'm sorry that you haven't seen her lately.
Billy: It's not for lack of trying.
Mac: Yeah, hopefully, Chloe will come around.
Billy: Why are you showing this to me now?
Mac: Who said I intended to?
Billy: Y-you're hanging out in one of my hangouts.
Mac: Yeah, well, it's not like I can go through it at home where your wife lives.
Billy: But why go through it at all, huh? I mean, why don't you just leave it in the attic? Or you can throw the damn thing away. You have to know what signals this sends to me, and I'm confused. What are you doing?
Jana: Right, so Daniel came here to get his painting back, or so I thought he did.
Kevin: By himself?
Jana: I tried to stop him!
Amber: Why didn't he tell me what's going on?
Jana: Amber, he just-- he didn't want you involved.
Kevin: Okay, you still haven't told us what he has to do with all of this.
Jana: Okay, that is the real Howard Aucker, an investigator with the department of justice. Amber, wait, no!
Amber: Daniel Romalotti's here.
Aucker: Is that supposed to mean something to me?
Amber: Look, I-I know who you are.
Aucker: And who are you?
Amber: I am Daniel's girlfriend, and he needs protection.
Aucker: Look. If Daniel was stupid enough to come down here, then--
Amber: No, no, he--he's here. He is here. He told my friend that he was coming here, and I-I saw his car parked just a few blocks away.
Aucker: It's not my responsibility.
Amber: The hell he is not. He is down here trying to do your job.
Aucker: Yeah, he's trying to cover his ass, and the two of you are interfering with a federal investigation.
Amber: If anything happens to him while he is--
Aucker: I have my agents on alert to pick him up if they see him.
Amber: You--you mean to arrest him?
Aucker: Happy now?
Thomas: Get out of here.
Daniel: I don't think so.
Thomas: You got a death wish?
Daniel: You're not gonna shoot me.
Thomas: Not only will I shoot you, but I'll enjoy doing it.
Daniel: The thing about that is I don't see you making a deal with Victoria Newman over a dead body.
(Cell phone rings)
Thomas: Yeah.
Victoria: It's Victoria Newman.
Thomas: Slight delay, but I'm here now.
Victoria: Where?
Thomas: In the alley. You got the cash?
Victoria: Yes.
Thomas: Good. Time to go.
Daniel: I ain't leaving.
Thomas: Your funeral.
Cane: (Laughs) Well, in that case, I'm coming home to see you. Okay, uh, we're done here, right?
Nina: No, actually, I still have a lot of unanswered questions, especially about Amber.
Cane: I'd just prefer if you maybe leave the past in the past.
Nina: You know, Cane, if I didn't know you better, I'd think you'd have something to hide.
Cane: (Laughs) You know, if I didn't know you better, I'd say maybe you do.
Nina: Me?
Cane: I think this, uh, screenplay that you're writing, it's got nothing to do with me, and it's, uh, you want to know about Phillip. You know, the Phillip you married.
Nina: Well, yeah. I mean, it's a big mystery. Who was this person? I mean, where did this other baby come from? Did someone give him up? Was he kidnapped?
Cane: Yeah. Nina, I understand why you're curious.
Nina: I'm--I'm more than just curious, Cane. I-I was in love with Phillip, you know, the way you love someone when you're that young, and he was my whole life. There were a lot of things about him that I didn't understand, things that I'm not able to make sense of, and maybe he didn't understand them, either, and maybe there's a family history out there that could explain so much, you know? And, I mean, wasn't it like that for you when you finally found your family?
Cane: Um, not as much as you might think.
Nina: Well, I-I gotta keep trying, and not just for Phillip’s sake, but for his son’s.
Cane: Well, I'm so sorry, but I think so much time has passed that you're just gonna find this is a dead end.
Nina: Yeah, that's what's so strange.
Cane: What's so strange?
Nina: That it's such a dead end. I mean, even after all of these years, I should be able to find out something about this Violet Montgomery person, but I can't find a single record of her, living or dead. It's bizarre, really, and that's why I was hoping that you might be able to shed some light--
Cane: You know, Nina, um, we kind of, like, discussed this already. I think now we're just gonna start talking in circles, so... look, I really have to go home. It was-- it was nice to talk to you. I'll see you, okay?
Nina: Okay.
Cane: Okay.
Paul: Oh, Ms. Benson--
Mary Jane: Oh, God. You know, I'm in a rush. I'm sorry.
Paul: I just have a-a few quick questions.
Mary Jane: You really need to get a hobby.
Paul: All right, fine, never mind, I'll just forward all my inquiries to the I.R.S.
Mary Jane: (Laughs) The I.R.S.?
Paul: I've done a little digging into your background-- financial background.
Mary Jane: I-is that even legal?
Paul: You know, that's funny, because that's the very same question I had when I noticed what you were up to.
Mary Jane: What are you talking about?
Paul: Well, on paper, it seems as though you've come into being in the last few months. I mean, that's when your social security number was issued, all your credit cards. In fact, that's even when you opened that bank account with that big fat cash deposit.
Mary Jane: So?
Paul: So... well, I'd be a little curious as to where the windfall came from?
Mary Jane: My cat died and left me a fortune. What business is it of yours?
Paul: Well, you show up in Genoa City without a past, without any personal connection, or none that you're willing to admit, anyway, and all these financial assets that seem to materialize out of nowhere. Who's behind this?
Mary Jane: I really don't know what you mean.
Paul: Oh, come on, somebody's bankrolling you. They went to a lot of trouble to give you a-a clean slate, a new identity, phony credentials, a plum job at Jabot.
Mary Jane: You know what? This was odd at first, you following me around. Then it became unnerving. Now it's just plain creepy. You're snooping in my private affairs. That is the definition of a stalker.
Sighs)
Aucker: Look, if Romalotti’s really here, and he's not partners with this guy...
Victoria: He's not.
Aucker: Then he's either gonna scare him off, or he's gonna get himself killed. Either way, if you're gonna do this, you gotta do it now.
Victoria: (Sighs) All right.
(Footsteps approaching)
Thomas: Who's there? Miss Newman? Your friend's very stupid.
Daniel: I don't know who that is.
Thomas: (Grunting) Aah! Uhh.
Daniel: Aucker. Aucker!
Thomas: (Groaning) (Gasping)
Jana: Oh, my God, there are D.O.J. agents crawling all over this place.
Amber: Yeah, and they all think he's a criminal.
J.T.: Where's Victoria?
Aucker: She's in the alley.
J.T.: Alone?
Aucker: Wait, you're gonna scare him off!
Amber: Daniel--
J.T.: Good!
Amber: D-Daniel's out there. Make sure he's okay.
J.T.: All right.
Amber: Oh, my God.
Thomas: (Gasping)
Daniel: (Grunts) Who did this?
Thomas: (Raspily) You did.
Thomas: (Sighs)
Victoria: Mr. Balfour?
Chloe: So... (Sighs) You're saying that people can't change.
Kay: Oh, they can. Of course, they can, but only when they're good and ready.
Chloe: Well, Billy says that he is ready.
Kay: Well, what do you expect him to say? He misses his daughter. Isn't that why you've been withholding Delia, so you can make him say what you want to hear?
Chloe: You think I'm being manipulative.
Kay: Mm.
Chloe: Maybe I am, but he deserves it. He does. He does not like what he's doing. He said that he does not like the choices that he's making.
Kay: No, of course he doesn’t. It's hell on earth living the way he does. I mean, I should know. Way back when I was drinking, I did things so awful, I wouldn't even admit to it, blocked it from my mind-- stealing, uh, baby Phillip from Jill, giving him away. If it wasn't for that psychic years later, I doubt I would have ever faced that.
Chloe: But eventually-- eventually, you did...
Kay: Eventually, eventually--
Chloe: So if--
Kay: Ev--Chloe, Chloe. "Eventually" can be a very long, long wait. It could be years, decades, and it might never happen.
Chloe: But if I give up on him, maybe it never will happen.
Kay: Oh, Sweetheart, please.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Kay: You're still believing that you have control over this. If you have faith, if you ease up or you clamp down, if you cry enough...
Chloe: (Sighs)
Kay: Or punish him enough or just love him enough. Let me tell you something. None of it. None of it makes a damned bit of difference.
Chloe: (Sighs)
Mac: Don't read anything into this, Billy. They're just cheesy high school memories.
Billy: That's our story in that book, and it's a love story, and you're mooning over it.
Mac: No, I'm not mooning. I don't moon.
Billy: Oh, that's right, because then you would have to admit that you had an actual human emotion.
Mac: Give me the book back.
Billy: No.
Mac: Billy.
Billy: Why is it always like this, huh? Ever since we first met. I mean, to get you to admit that you feel something, it's--it's--its torture. (Slams book down) No, really, it's torture. I had to have a near-death experience just for you to say, "I like you, Billy." And then there was that other time. I mean, you remember that? We got stuck in the elevator. I've had to beg and plead for every scrap of honesty from you.
Mac: That's not true.
Billy: Do you think you're better than me because you deny it and I don't? It doesn't make you noble. It makes you a hypocrite.
Mac: Are you finished?
Billy: No, I'm not, so just say it. Mac, come on, just say it. I already know. I knew before this book. I know because it's in your eyes every time you look at me. It's in your eyes every time you try not to look at me. Admit it. You feel the same way you did back then, don't you?
Billy: Don't you?
Mac: Yes.
Billy: I can't believe you actually admitted it.
Mac: (Sighs)
Billy: Mm.
Mac: Billy, don't misinterpret.
Billy: Oh, hey, don't do that. Don't you take it back.
Mac: I'm not taking it back. There's no point in hiding it from you, anyway.
Billy: No, because I know you better than anybody else.
Mac: You did once.
Billy: I still do.
Mac: I'm not in--I'm not in high school anymore, Billy. It was okay to get lost in each other then. It was fun, but now you're a married man with a baby, and I'm in love with another man.
Billy: So it's complicated.
Mac: It's impossible.
Billy: Don't say that.
Mac: We're just-- we're just having these residual feelings, and it's sweet and nostalgic, but--but neither one of us is available.
Billy: Oh, well, see, that's where you're wrong.
Kay: Now have you ever heard of the serenity prayer?
Chloe: Is that the one, uh, "I cannot change the things about myself," blah, blah, blah? I hate that prayer.
(Laughs)
Kay: (Laughs) Why does that not surprise me?
Chloe: Oh, I'm sorry. I-I sort of think it's a cop-out.
Kay: No, no, it's just the opposite. Now come on. When you realize you cannot fix other people, you turn the focus on yourself. Now that becomes your greatest challenge.
Chloe: Okay, well, the only thing I want to change about myself is how much I love Billy. Why, what do you think I should change?
Kay: Well, I was just wondering about your self-respect right now.
Chloe: (Sighs) Jeez. Self-respect? Well, my husband cheated on me with my sister-in-law, who was also my maid of honor. Let's not forget that.
Kay: Well, self-respect would be a good place to start.
Chloe: I told him-- I-I told him I didn't want to have anything to with him. I said I was done, and all I want to do is just run back over there and tell him I didn't mean it.
Kay: Is that what you're going to do?
Chloe: No.
Kay: Hmm? Come on, now listen to me.
Chloe: Oh.
Kay: All right. Now I'm going to act as your sponsor, and when you feel, or you're tempted-- going to fall off the wagon, I want you to call me.
Chloe: Okay, for Delia’s sake.
Kay: No, no, no. For yourself and your sake-- self-respect. Self-respect.
Chloe: (Sighs) Thank you.
Victoria: Mr. Balfour! He's running. He's taking off.
J.T.: Victoria!
Victoria: J.T., I'm here! I'm fine. Everything's okay.
Aucker: What? Damn it!
Amber: (Gasps) What's happening?
Jana: Oh, my God, please let them be all right.
J.T.: Victoria!
Victoria: J.T., I'm over here by the c—
(Briefcase thuds)
Victoria: Oh, my God. (Gasps) Aah!
J.T.: Victoria!
(Breathing heavily)
Victoria: (Screams)
J.T.: Victoria! Victoria! Oh, my God. Victoria! (Grunting) Uhh! Hey, baby. Hey. Victoria. Can you hear me? Huh? (Breathing heavily) Can you hear me? Help! Help! Can you-- hey, babe. Somebody, help!
(Panting)
Aucker: Yeah, the whole thing went to hell. We need an ambulance.
Kevin: What?
Amber: What? Who, Daniel?
Aucker: (Sighs)
Amber: Oh, my God. I gotta get da--
Aucker: No, no, no, don't go out there, it's a crime scene.
Amber: Daniel is hurt? Oh!
Kevin: Its okay, it's okay.
Aucker: No, no, there was no sign of him.
Jana: Wh-what about Victoria?
Kevin: Wh-wh-what happened?
Aucker: Stay here.
Jana: You said she would be safe!
Aucker: Stay here!
Amber: (Moaning)
Paul: Yeah, thanks for faxing those documents over. No, they really came in handy. Well, sure, if you can come up with anything else, it'd be appreciated. Okay, good deal. All right, thanks again. Bye-bye.
Nina: Hi, Paul.
Paul: Hey, Nina, how are you?
Nina: Hi! Really good, thank you.
Paul: Oh, you look great.
Nina: Hey, congratulations. Thank you. I heard about you and Nikki.
Paul: Oh, thanks! I'm very happy.
Nina: Wonderful, you look happy.
Paul: (Laughs)
Nina: Have you set a date?
Paul: Uh, no, we'll let you know. We'll give you a call.
Nina: Very good.
Paul: I understand that you are, uh, adapting Katherine’s memoirs to the screen. Is that right?
Nina: Yes, the other reason I wanted to see you. I want to find out more about Violet Montgomery. She's the one who took Jill’s baby and replaced him and--with Phillip and...
Paul: Yeah.
Nina: You investigated her when that story first came out, right?
Paul: Yeah, I did. It wasn't easy. She didn't leave much of a trail. Uh, she took the kid and went to Arizona, and I think, um, like, a couple of weeks later she died.
Nina: Wow. And so Cane went to live with her brother?
Paul: Yes, in Canberra. And his name was, um, Langley.
Nina: So what did you do? Y-you went and found Cane and brought him back to Genoa City?
Paul: No, he was already here.
Nina: You're kidding.
Paul: No. He was working as a bartender at Indigo.
Nina: Okay. All right, I think I got something to go on now. Thank you.
Paul: But, hey, do you want me to dig up the old files? I'm sure there are some details that I'm not remembering that might be helpful.
Nina: Oh, yes, that would be great. Thank you, yes.
Paul: Okay, all right.
Nina: Cool.
Paul: I'll give you a call.
Nina: All right, say hi to Nikki for me, okay?
Paul: Good to see you.
Nina: Bye.
Paul: Bye.
(Sighs)
Paul: Hey, Gil.
Wallace: Hey.
Paul: How are you doing? What brings, uh, Genoa City's finest to the club this evening?
Wallace: Well, as a matter of fact, I'm here to see you.
Paul: Really?
Wallace: Do you know a Mary Jane Benson?
Paul: Well, that's an interesting question.
Wallace: Be careful with your answer. She just filed a complaint against you for stalking and harassment.
Paul: What?
Wallace: Look, I'm sorry, man, but I gotta bring you down for questioning.
Mary Jane: Idiot Paul. I-I don't need that aggravation, and--and now I have Jack and Sharon to deal with. Hmm. Victor abandoned me. I, uh, I got really upset today. I'm afraid to tell you what I did. I smashed an innocent little bird. I did. And I know-- I know I promised you I'd never do that again after what I did to you. Mm-hmm. But my sweet kitty forgives me, don't you? (Laughs) Yes, you do. (Bell jingles) (Laughs) Yes, you do. (Sniffles) Ohh. Mm.
Chloe: Thanks, uh, make that to go.
Mac: Whatever Chloe said, I know that she--
Billy: Oh, she said that the marriage is over.
Mac: She used those exact words?
Billy: Oh, you want exact words?
Mac: Mm-hmm.
Billy: Okay, she said that there is no way that she would ever want me back, which means that I'm available.
Mac: Well, I'm not.
Billy: You can't hide your feelings from me. What makes you think you can hide them from Raul? Show the guy some respect.
Mac: By breaking up with him?
Billy: Look, you can't forget what we had, and you never will, and we can have it again. Just think about it. I know you'll do the right thing.
Chloe: Oh, thanks. (Sighs) Well, this is a good time to give Katherine a call. Talk me down.
Chloe: Maybe not.
Kay: Well, hello, there. May I join you?
Mac: Yeah, let me just get this out of the way.
Kay: Oh, dear, dear, dear, dear. Ahh. Everything all right?
Mac: Yeah. I just, um, wish I was someone completely different, that's all.
Kay: Mm-hmm. Different how?
Mac: Impetuous, impulsive, completely selfish.
Kay: Well, my dear, that would be very different. People who live that way are not very--very happy.
Mac: They are for short periods of time.
Kay: Mm.
Mac: Sometimes I think it would be worth it.
Kay: Mackenzie, I know you're still in love with Billy.
Mac: I can't help it.
Kay: None of us can, any more than he can help hurting those who love him the most. It took me decades to realize that. You know, it's not the kind of man you want who would be a wanderer...
Kay: Rather, just a good, solid man by the hearth.
Cane: I tried to put her off, but she's determined to get to the bottom of this, and it's just gonna make her more suspicious.
Langley: Relax.
Cane: How can I relax? I have a life here now. I have a woman and a family that I am crazy in love with, and if I lose that--
Langley: No, no, no, you won't, you won’t. Listen to me, Cane. Nina's gonna do a little sniffing around. She's gonna come to a dead end. She's gonna give up.
Cane: I don't think so. Your wife has not forgotten about you, Phillip.
J.T.: (Sighs)
Woman: Near the dumpster.
Aucker: What about the money?
Aucker: I'm so sorry.
J.T.: If my wife dies, I'm coming after you.
Jana: Okay, so I'm sure that we'll hear from Daniel very soon, okay?
Amber: Yeah, unless he's already dead. I mean, these people aren't just art thieves. They're murderers, and he went after them to--
Kevin: Okay, look, look, look, we don't know that. He may have changed his mind. Let me--let me take your keys.
Amber: Daniel, Daniel. Oh, my God! Hold me, ohh.
Jana: Daniel, I-I had to tell them. Thank God, you are all right.
Kevin: You gave us quite a scare, man.
Jana: (Sighs)
Daniel: Yeah, well, it's not over yet. I'm in serious, serious trouble.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Amber: If you want to leave town, we can do it right now.
Daniel: You're gonna give all that up for me, huh?
Heather: Why has this woman become so important to you?
Paul: I swear, I know her from somewhere.
Victor: What strange things?
Nikki: Something was not right in that house last night.
