Daniel: Hey, what do you want to do for dinner? You want pizza? You want Chinese food?

Amber: Forget it. I-I can't--I can't do this. I can't—

(Sighs)

Daniel: You can't order takeout?

Amber: (Sighs) No. This. I can't-- I can't just go back to work and--and just pretend everything is back to normal. Just--

Daniel: Are you still worried about Kevin?

Amber: Well--well, of course I'm worried about him. He's locked up in a padded cell.

Daniel: Okay. Well, at least he's safe.

Amber: (Sighs) No, not in his mind, he isn't, Daniel. Kevin has gone off the deep end, and you want to know what the worst part is? I almost brought him back.

Daniel: Are you talking about the boxcar?

Amber: Yeah. I had convinced him to turn himself in and get help, and then stupid Jeffrey Bardwell walks in and just screws everything all up.

Daniel: (Sighs) Amber, I know that sucks, but--

Amber: I was thinking maybe I could talk to the judge.

Daniel: Oh. Oh, the judge that you royally pissed off in court? No. No, you're already facing years in jail if you get convicted.

Amber: Okay, but if I reason with him--

Daniel: It's not gonna do you any good.

Amber: I got to do something.

Daniel: No. Amber, can you, for one second, stop obsessing about Kevin and think about yourself?

Jana: I'm so glad to see you, my darling. (Sighs) God, I've missed you so much. Guess what? I got a new Ouija board. (Laughs) It told me you're coming home to me soon. Maybe we could take a trip when you get back, go back to the ashram where we got married. (Sighs) You deserve a nice holiday after everything you've been through. Michael is doing everything that he can to get you out. Kevin. Kevin, my darling, please look at me. It's Jana... your wife. (Sighs) Just... just turn your head. Please, look at me. Just... (Sighs) I know you can do it. I believe in you.

Chipmunk voice: She believes in you, but you believe in me-- only me, right, zombie boy?

(Laughs evilly)

Kevin: (Sighs) Stop talking. (Breathing heavily) Stop talking! Shut up and leave me alone!

(Breathing heavily)

(Knock on door)

Neil: Yeah.

(Sighs)

Neil: Hey.

Devon: Guess I'm not the person you were hoping to see.

Neil: Well, for a second, I thought you might be...

Devon: Karen?

Neil: Yeah. I figured you'd be helping, uh, Tyra to get Ana settled in.

Devon: No, I-I am. Uh, we're, uh, I mean, I just came by here to get some stuff for Ana to take to school, but I'll be by later to get the rest of her things.

Neil: Okay. Come on. I'll give you a hand.

Devon: Well, hang on a second, Neil. Um...

Neil: Yeah. What's up?

Devon: What you and Tyra did-- I don't think I can ever forget that.

Neil: I don't expect you to, son.

Devon: But today you did a really good thing for my sister. I'll never forget that, either.  

Lily: Oh. (Sighs) It's been a crazy day, hasn't it?

Cane: (Sighs) You don't even know the half of it.

Lily: Hmm?

Cane: I resigned from Chancellor.

Lily: You did? Why?

Cane: There's been so much drama lately, Sweetheart. I just want life to be simple again.

Lily: (Laughs) That sounds like heaven.

(Laughs)

Sharon: (Sighs) Nick, hey. If you came to check up on me, I'm fine, so if you'll excuse me--

Nick: No, you're not. You're not fine. Tell me what's going on.

Sharon: Okay. Um, Noah came by last night, and he came down on me again, let me have it.

Nick: Because you let Eden take the fall for those stolen books?

Sharon: Nick, you should have seen the way he looked at me, like I was the world's worst mother.

Nick: Look, what happened with Eden, you didn't do that on purpose.

Sharon: It doesn't matter. We used to be so close, and now Noah hates me.

Nick: No, he doesn't hate you.

Sharon: I've just betrayed so many people. I mean, uh, Eden, Lauren, Victor...

Nick: That's because they don't know the circumstances. When they do, they will understand.

Sharon: I don't see how they are going to understand. That's why I've made a decision. I'm gonna go to the district attorney, and I'm just gonna confess everything.

Nick: The hell you are.

Michael: Uh, Detective Wallace would like to speak to you both about the items that Sharon allegedly stole.

Phyllis: "Allegedly."

Wallace: Yeah, everything found in her room was photographed, and it's being held as evidence. And a lot of the items had price tags from Fenmore's and the boutique.

Lauren: So Michael told me.

Phyllis: You know, we're not the only people that she ripped off.

Wallace: I'll leave the photos. If you recognize things that belong to you, call me.

Phyllis: My pleasure. Thank you.

Michael: Okay. Thank you.

Phyllis: Amazing. Let's see.

Devon: This ought to tide the little diva over.

Neil: (Sighs) Yeah, I'll miss having her here, that's for sure, Devon.

Devon: Well, you can see her whenever you want to.

Neil: It's just not the same.

Devon: Yeah. I'm sorry. Wh--I know Karen just left, but what-- what--what's the plans for you and--and Tyra? What's gonna happen next?

Neil: I don't know, my boy. I haven't thought that far ahead.

Devon: Really? 'Cause when you did what you did in court, I mean, you had to have thought that this--this could destroy your marriage.

Neil: What's your point?

Devon: You never once stopped and--and thought about what it could mean for the two of you?

Neil: You know what? I swear, I-I don't-- I don't even really see where that's going right now. I-I don't have time for it in my life.

Devon: Well, I hope not. I hope not, 'cause I really don't want to see Tyra get hurt.

Neil: Yeah, I don't, either, especially because I hurt Karen so badly, you know?

Devon: Yeah, can you, uh, can you really blame her? I mean, you guys were barely newlyweds, and you cheated on her, man.

Neil: I know. I know. I know. Oh, Devon, that's a part of me that I didn't even know existed.

Devon: Hmm. Well, hey, why don't-- why don't you come back to the house with me? We'll pick up a chocolate cream pie.

Neil: (Chuckles) Chocolate cream pie-- Ana's favorite, right?

Devon: That's right. We have a lot to celebrate 'cause of you, and I think you should be there.

Neil: No, I'm gonna pass. You know, but I appreciate the offer. Another time, okay?

Devon: Okay. I will save a piece of pie for you.

Neil: Thanks.

Cane: I want to wake up in the morning, and I want to look forward to my day, and when I come home, I don't want my job following me. Now as far as what sort of job I'm gonna get...

Lily: Hey, hey, you just made this huge decision. You can't expect to have all the answers.

Cane: Yeah, I know. I'm still trying to figure out the questions.

Lily: Yeah. (Sighs) I've been figuring out some stuff, too.

Cane: You are gonna finish college, right?

Lily: Yeah, of--of course. Yeah, I just-- I don't know. You know, more and more, I've just realized how much I miss modeling.

Cane: Really? You haven't told me that before.

Lily: Yeah, Nikki actually said they'd be interested in using me at "Restless Style."

Cane: That is wonderful.

Lily: Yeah. So I guess we're both starting over, right?

Cane: Mm-hmm, and all that matters is that we are starting over together, hmm?

Lily: Yeah.

Amber: How could you even suggest that I abandon Kevin?

Daniel: I didn't suggest that you abandon Kevin.

Amber: You know what? He was tortured, Daniel, to the point of just having a nervous breakdown. You know what? Maybe you could walk away from that. Maybe it's too hard or too messy for you. I cannot.

Daniel: Do you think that I don't want to see him get help? He is my best friend, but you can't keep running around and putting yourself at risk.

Amber: He needs me.

Daniel: I need you, okay? I need you, and you're never there. First, you run off with Mrs. Chancellor, and you try and find her, and you wind up almost getting blown up in the middle of that, and then you're off with Kevin, robbing banks and getting chased by the cops on TV. What am I supposed to do with that? The kid's completely unhinged. He could have turned on you!

Amber: But he didn’t.

Daniel: What if he did? What if I had lost you?

Amber: No, you're not gonna lose me, Baby, okay? I'm fine.

Daniel: Yeah.

Amber: I'm here.

Daniel: Yeah, you're fine. You're here. I just have to worry about you going to jail now.

Amber: Well, Michael's not gonna let that happen.

Daniel: I hope not. You know, we used to have all these dreams together. You know, you were gonna be... (Chuckles) A famous designer, and I was gonna make art that really inspired people and that they could really relate to, and we had this whole future mapped out for ourselves, and then all of this crap starts happening, and it just feels like it's all falling apart.

Amber: Nothing is more important to me than you. You know that, and those dreams that we had, they are gonna happen, Baby. I know it. I can feel it, okay?

Daniel: (Whispers) Yeah.

Jana: Kevin, would it be all right if I talked to you again? I'm sorry if I pushed you too hard before. I just-- I just want you to know that I'm here. I love you, Kevin. I love you so much.

Kevin: Jana, I love you so much. I want to be with you. Jana, can you hear me?

Chipmunk voice: She doesn't want you. Nobody wants you.

Kevin: She loves me.

Chipmunk voice: How could anyone love you? You're crazier than a loon.

Kevin: I am not!

Chipmunk voice: (Laughs)

Kevin: Don't say that.

Chipmunk voice: You've got a gorgeous babe begging you to talk to her, and all you can see and hear is me. Believe me, I know nuts, and that's what you are.

Kevin: Hey.

(Door rattling)

Amber: Don't listen to him, Kevin. He's wrong.

Jana: Did you hear anything I said?

Kevin: Amber.

Kevin: Amber.

Jana: (Sighs)

Lauren: You know, Sharon is the last person I would have pegged to shoplift.

Michael: (Sighs) Uh-huh.

(Objects rattling)

Phyllis: Oh, my God. Oh, my gosh. This is Victor's. You know, this is extraordinarily expensive. (Sighs) Victor used this when he proposed to Sabrina and, you know, to put her engagement ring in. Amazing. Oh. Look at this. And the monkey figurine.

Michael: Haven't I seen this in your house?

Phyllis: Yes. Definitely at my house before it just vanished.

Michael: So... do you want to press charges?

Phyllis: Yes, I do. I definitely do.

Michael: I realize that, uh, your monkey statue is of great sentimental value, but it's hardly grand larceny, whereas the items that Sharon took from Victor-- clothing and jewelry from Lauren's store...

Lauren: So what happens to Sharon if I press charges?

Michael: It's a felony.

Phyllis: Mm.

Lauren: It's always been Fenmore's policy to prosecute shoplifters.

Michael: All right, do you really want to see Sharon go to jail?

Phyllis: Yeah. I do. She's a thief.

Michael: We both know your desire to see Sharon behind bars is personal, a way to keep her away from your husband.

Sharon: You should go.

Nick: You're not getting rid of me that easily.

Sharon: I know you're trying to protect me, but, Nick, I have to take responsibility for this.

Nick: There are other ways to do that besides going to prison.

Sharon: Okay. Well, I'm a thief. I don't deserve any special treatment.

Nick: Sharon, do you want to be punished?

Sharon: Why would I want to be punished?

Nick: Because you feel guilty about the accident by the lake with Noah and then brad dying. Admit it. You haven't been the same since that night. But, Sharon, you should know more than anyone that--that bad things happen, and sometimes, it's nobody's fault.

Amber: Mm.

(Sighs)

Daniel: (Sighs)

Amber: Yeah.

(Knock on door)

Daniel: Go away.

Amber: Shh!

(Louder knock on door)

Amber: You get it.

(Laughs)

Jana: It's Jana.

Amber: (Gasps) Oh. Now?

Daniel: Oh.

Amber: (Sighs)

Daniel: (Sighs)

Amber: Really?

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah.

Amber: (Sighs)

Daniel: (Groans)

Amber: (Sighs)

Jana: Hi. Oh, I'm--I'm sorry to interrupt, but this is really important.

Amber: Um, is it Kevin?

Jana: (Sighs) Oh, God. I went to go visit him at that awful, horrid place, and...

(Groans)

Amber: Wh-what's wrong?

Jana: Just another one of those bloody God-- another headache. Um...

Amber: But, you know, I, um, I have some-- some pills over here--

Jana: No, no, no. I'm fine. I just... (Sighs) Look, I went over there 'cause I thought I could get a response out of him.

(Puts down purse)

Daniel: Well, did you have any luck?

Jana: No. He just stared into space, really, and... (Sighs) Glanced over at me a few times. The only time I really got a reaction out of him was when he told me to shut up.

Daniel: (Mouths words)

Jana: And then he asked for you.

Amber: For me?

Jana: You might be really the only person who can get through to him.

Lily: (Laughs) Hey, what's wrong?

Cane: Oh, I just walked past the nursery.

Lily: (Inhales deeply) Oh, Delia’s room?

Cane: Yeah, but it's-- it's not just Delia. I bought this house for us, you know, because we were hoping to have a family here one day.

Lily: Yeah, I-- I know why it's on your mind.

Cane: It was a year ago today that we thought you were pregnant.

Lily: Yeah, we were so excited.

Cane: I remember when we went for your ultrasound, and the technician said, "Hey, you might see the little baby's fluttering heart."

Lily: (Laughs) Yep. And then the doctor came in and said there wasn't a baby anymore. I still want to have your baby.

Cane: So does that mean...

Lily: Does that mean what?

Cane: Uh, that the marriage is back on the table, huh?

Lily: (Laughs)

Cane: Huh?

Lily: Uh, well...

Cane: Huh?

Lily: Why don't you ask me and find out? (Giggles) Oh, okay.

Cane: Huh?

Lily: (Laughs) (Giggles) Oh, goodness. (Laughs) Yes. (Laughs)

Cane: All right. Wedding proposal--take four.

Lily: Yeah.

(Laughs)

Cane: Lily Winters, will you please, will you please marry me? Hmm?

Lily: (Laughs) Um... (Laughs)

(Giggles)

Lily: (Giggles) Hey, aren't you forgetting something?

Cane: Oh, the ring! The ring.

Lily: (Laughs) (Gasps)

Cane: (Laughs)

Lily: Oh, my gosh!

Cane: (Laughs)

Cane: Now it's right where it belongs.

Lily: Oh, my gosh. I can't believe it. This is finally gonna happen, isn't it?

Cane: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And how do you want to celebrate?

Lily: I don't know.

(Laughs)

Cane: Would you like to have dinner and go dancing at the Colonnade room?

Lily: How about we cuddle on the couch and watch "Casablanca"?

Cane: Mm. I like the way you think.

Lily: (Giggles) But first, um, there's someone that I want to share our news with.

Cane: Your dad?

Lily: Yeah. I want to tell him in person.

Cane: Okay. All right, meanwhile, I am gonna go and get us something special to eat.

Lily: Okay.

Cane: Okay?

Lily: (Laughs)

Cane: Mm.

Lily: Okay, go. Hurry back.

Cane: (Grunts)

Nick: You have to do exactly what I say, and that means, you don't talk to anybody about this.

Sharon: People are gonna want to know why I did it.

Nick: Sharon, you aren't some hardened criminal who deserves to be in jail. Now if you want to do community service 'cause that makes you feel better, then do it. But do not go to the D.A. and say, "Lock me up because I did this."

Sharon: But I did do it. I deserve to be in jail.

Nick: Okay. All right, if you're not gonna think about yourself, then think about Noah. Yes, he is upset with you right now, but trust me, he needs you.

Michael: Is he with Sharon?

Phyllis: No, he's not. He is staying with his sister, but only time will tell, right?

Lauren: What happened? Why did he leave?

Phyllis: Oh... (Sighs) We are always fighting about his ex-wife.

Michael: You are a little obsessed with her.

Phyllis: Really? He refuses to see Sharon for the mess that she is. He refuses. And then when I try to open his eyes to it, he just gets mad at me and sticks up for her.

Lauren: All right, Phyllis, come on. You have always been jealous of Sharon, even when there was no reason to be.

Phyllis: All right, well, um, I have reason to be jealous now, don't I? (Sighs) She slept with my husband?

Lauren: What?! Wha-- you don't seem very surprised.

Michael: Oh. Uh, Phyllis confided in me earlier.

Phyllis: It happened again.

Michael: What, they were together twice?

Phyllis: Well, I guess some people would say, "Hey. Phyllis--she's getting what she deserves, right?" (Sighs) It's so weird. We still love each other.

Michael: The trouble is, sometimes you fight so hard, it backf--

Phyllis: I don't fight so hard. He's my husband! I love him. What am I gonna do, just sit back and go, "Okay. Sure, I don't mind that Sharon comes in the middle of our relationship"? What am I supposed to do?

Lauren: All right. You need to take Sharon out of the equation. I mean, what's wrong with you guys, it's between the two of you. And if you keep making it about her, you are gonna lose him.

Devon: Thank you. Hey, Ashby. Hey, what up?

Cane: Great minds, uh, think alike, I see.

Devon: Yeah, yeah. It's a, uh, a chocolate cream pie for Ana's homecoming.

Cane: Oh, how is she? Is she okay?

Devon: She's okay. Uh, one minute, she'll be laughing, and then the next, she'll burst into tears, but other than that...

Cane: Well, you know, being back with her mom, it's been a long time coming. It's got to be emotional for her.

Devon: Yeah, it really is. Uh, by the way, Lily mentioned that you dropped your own custody case.

Cane: Yeah, as much as I love Cordelia, I realized she has to be back with her mom.

Devon: Yeah. It's still got to be tough for you, though, right?

Cane: I just want what is best for that little girl.

Devon: Yeah, that seems to be going around these days.

Lily: Dad, I am so sorry.

Neil: Mm. I knew there was a good chance that I would lose Karen, you know, when I stood up in court.

Lily: I know, but being prepared to lose someone doesn't make it any less painful.

Neil: You said yourself that you thought we rushed into marriage.

Lily: Yeah, but I knew why you were doing it. It was for Ana.

Neil: Mm. (Inhales deeply) After your mother died, I-I was so empty inside, you know? And Karen was the first woman to come along and put a smile on my face again.

Lily: (Sighs) I know.

Neil: I am so sorry for all the pain that I caused her. (Exhales deeply) Um, look at you. You're so pretty.

Lily: (Laughs)

Neil: What--what was it that you wanted to tell me, hmm?

Lily: Uh, you know, I-I'll tell you later. It's fine.

Lily: Um, well, Cane and I are getting married.

Neil: What about-- what about the custody case?

Lily: He dropped it.

(Door closes)

Amber: Hi, Kevin. I heard you were asking for me.

Michael: (Sighs)

Lauren: You've really been through the wringer lately. I don't know how you keep it together, with everything that's been going on with Kevin and-- and now Eden.

Michael: (Groans) Oh, please, I cringe every time I think of my teenage sister having...

Lauren: S-e-x?

Michael: Yeah, right. I know I'll have to deal with that. Thank you.

Lauren: Not tonight, you won’t. Plus, I've already talked to her about it.

Michael: To answer your question, it's you. You. You are the reason I am able to keep it together.

Lauren: Mm.

(Laughs)

(Footsteps approach)

Lauren: Uh...

Sharon: (Clears throat) Hello.

Lauren: Sharon.

Sharon: I know that I owe you an explanation, Lauren.

Lauren: You mean, as to why you took all those things from my stores?

Sharon: Um, and I would really love to get into it, but--

Michael: But let me guess, you've been advised to stay quiet?

Sharon: Yes. But I promise, as soon as I am able to talk about it, I will explain everything to you.

Lauren: Yeah, fine. Fine. What I really want to know is why you let Eden take the rap for stealing those books?

Sharon: At the time, I had no idea what had happened.

Lauren: Really? And--and then what about later?

Sharon: Um, later?

Lauren: Your son's girlfriend was being arrested for books she swears she didn't take, books that just happened to be in the bag you left at the bookstore, and none of that helped you understand what you'd done?

Nick: Get six copies, and it should be good to go. Thanks for staying late tonight.

Phyllis: Hey.

Nick: Hey.

Phyllis: (Clears throat)

Nick: So, uh, what are you doing here?

Phyllis: Uh, Victoria told me you were working, so I decided to, you know, come by. You should come home. Um, "Supergirl" misses you.

Nick: That's why I'm staying at the ranch, you know, so I can be close to her.

Phyllis: Yeah. Well, it's not really the same thing.

Nick: I promised you that I will come by every night, and I will.

Phyllis: Okay, th-that's cool. Um, but you... how can we talk if you're not there?

Nick: That's why I had to leave, because we can't talk without yelling at each other.

Phyllis: Well, maybe it'll be different this time.

Nick: Phyllis, I don't know which end is up right now.

Phyllis: I don't, either.

Jana: How is Kevin supposed to get better if he's so doped up all the time?

Daniel: I don't know.

Jana: I mean, I know that the D.A. said that he's dangerous, but locking him up in a cell like that-- it's gonna remind him of "Terrible Tom."

Daniel: Probably.

Jana: I mean, don't those doctors know that the worst thing to do, is putting somebody who's claustrophobic in a small, confined space like that 24 hours a day?

(Sighs)

Jana: Daniel, are you cross with me or something?

Daniel: It just seems like Kevin's kind of taken over Amber's life.

Jana: Do you think that I liked begging her for help? I would give anything if he would have asked for me instead of Amber.

Daniel: Yeah. No, you're right. I-I'm sorry. It-- it's got to be rough.

Jana: It will be worth it if she can help pull him out of this nightmare world that he's living in. I just have to believe that this is all going to work out, and we will just have to be really patient.

(Sighs)

Amber: I came here because you said you wanted to talk.

Amber: Don't be afraid. After everything we went through, nothing you can say will scare me off. (Sighs) Listen, Hon, I know it's easy to lose your grip a little, but you've got to. You've got to bring yourself back. You've got to fight your way back. You've done it before, and you can do it again.

Chipmunk voice: Pay no attention to the nut job in the corner.

Amber: Kevin's not crazy. He's just a little lost.

Chipmunk voice: (Laughs) "A little lost"? The guy's gone, and he ain't coming back.

Amber: Don’t. No, you're wrong. You're wrong. Okay, don't listen to him, Kevin. He is not real.

Chipmunk voice: How's the weather in la-la land, Pal?

Amber: Ignore him. What is real is right here-- you and me. It's okay. (Sniffles) It's okay.

Kevin: (Sighs)

Kevin: Chipmunk doesn't want me to talk to you.

Amber: You saw the chipmunk? You're scared of him? Who is he?

Kevin: I don't know. I can't get away.

Kevin: Why won't he leave me alone?

Amber: I don't know, Sweetie. But next time you see the chipmunk, you have to face him. You have to find out who's behind that mask.

Lauren: Do you have any idea what kind of effect an arrest can have on a young person's life? They are forced to put it on all their job applications, on all their college applications. Eden's life could have been ruined because of this.

Nick: You're giving me an ultimatum.

Phyllis: No, I'm not.

Nick: So am I.

Phyllis: Nick, I think that everything's slipping away. I don't know what to do about it. I don't know what to do. I just feel like it's all going away, and... (Sighs) (Voice cracks) In a minute or an hour, it's all gonna be gone.
