Ashley: Okay. (Clears throat) Let's try this again.
Jack: Hey, I got a better idea. How about I drive you home?
Ashley: Don't be silly. I survived breast cancer. I can handle a little morning sickness. Besides, I want to be there for Billy's custody hearing. Have you read that?
Jack: Oh, three times over. I can't seem to get enough of it, especially the side piece on Jill, the ungrateful shrew who had her mother arrested rather than lose her inheritance.
Ashley: Mm. And now no inheritance.
Jack: And no mother.
Ashley: Boy, I bet she loved reading that.
Jack: Oh, she hasn't read this yet.
Ashley: How do you know?
Jack: We would know. We'd have felt the shock waves from her head blowing up. I tell you what, I would like to be in a front row seat when she does read it.
Ashley: (Scoffs) Jackie, you might want to get yourself some popcorn.
Jill: Hi.
Cane: Hey. You want a club soda?
Jill: Yes. With bourbon, please.
Cane: Oh, so you didn't get the new job, Mom?
Jill: No, but I got another name on the list.
Cane: What list is that?
Jill: Of people who will someday learn not to cross Jill Abbott. What are you doing here? Why aren't you at work? Did Katherine fire you?
Cane: No, Mom. No.
Jill: I will give her bloody hell.
Cane: Katherine didn't fire me. In fact, she offered me a high-level job at Chancellor, which I turned down.
Jill: Cane, how could you do something so foolish?
Cane: Mom, it was the best decision I have ever made.
Billy: This was the big emergency? Possibly your last day with Delia, and you spend it ripping on my ex? Are you serious? Look, I apologize for my wife, okay?
Chloe: How dare you?
Mac: It's okay.
Billy: (Clears throat)
Mac: Of course you're on edge. Your custody hearing's today.
Billy: That's no reason to take it out on you.
Chloe: (Scoffs)
Mac: Right, because I'm not a threat to your marriage.
Billy: (Sighs)
Mac: But I do live here now, and I'm not going into hiding anytime soon, and you need to get used to that. Excuse me.
Chloe: What an annoying little prig.
Billy: Hey, you want to get a grip? First, you rip my head off, then Mac’s? You gonna do that to the judge, too?
Chloe: Well, yeah. If he tries to take my baby away, yes.
Billy: Will you stop freaking yourself out?
Chloe: You said it yourself, Billy. I could lose her today. Cane already hates me as it is, because I split up him and Lily. If he wins, do you realize that we will probably never be able to see our little girl ever again?
Billy: (Sighs)
Neil: Excuse me. I have something to say.
Rafael: Your honor, a moment to confer with my client, please.
Neil: No, Rafael. I-I don't need that.
Karen: Honey, what are you doing?
Neil: Please, your honor, just hear me out.
Devon: (Sighs)
Ana: What is taking so long?
Devon: Well... (Sighs) The judge doesn't want to rush the big decision like this, you know? There's a lot to consider.
Ana: I bet when you were adopted, you were totally happy.
Devon: Well, big changes make everyone nervous, okay? But listen, you have something that I didn't have.
Ana: W-w-what?
Devon: A big brother to look out for you, right? Look, no matter who you go home with after court today, I'm gonna be right there with you, okay?
Ana: Okay.
Woman: Mr. Winters, you have a statement?
Neil: Yes, your honor. I-I-I do. You know, I've, uh, adopted before-- Ana's older brother Devon. I don't love him like a son. He is my son. I didn't think that I could feel that way, certainly not--not twice in one lifetime. Ana, um, uh, you've-- you've got all sorts of reports up there that you've been reading about her, but I can tell you now that no piece of paper could ever possibly explain what--what she means to us, or to me, personally. You see, your honor, before I met Ana, I had been going through a very dark chapter in my life. I had lost, uh, I had lost so much. I didn't think I had any love left to give a little girl. But then Ana arrived, and she gave me a sense of joy with her childish innocence and her laughter, her music. She gave me excitement for the future, and the first time in many, many months, I-I felt I had a purpose. I just-- I want to be the father she deserves. Which is why...? I am asking you to please... reconsider your decision. I'm asking you to place Ana with the woman who has made her what she is today...
Karen: What?
Neil: And that woman is Tyra Hamilton.
Karen: What? No, he didn't mean that. Ex-explain what you were talking about. You--you got to do something.
Neil: Karen...
Karen: No. No, please, we--
Neil: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Karen: We just need a minute. Just—
(gavel pounds)
Woman: Presumably, Mr. Winters, you knew before today that Ms. Hamilton wanted to adopt her niece.
Neil: Yes, I did.
Woman: Uh, why this sudden change of heart?
Neil: Because... there are things that-- that we hid from our attorney-- problems in the marriage.
Karen: That's not true.
Woman: Uh, you're not aware of these problems?
Karen: No, not anything that would justify our losing our daughter.
Neil: Now, now hold on. Wait a minute.
Karen: (Sighs)
Neil: Now Karen is willing to overlook the mistakes I've made, and I am sorry for those mistakes, Karen...
Karen: (Sighs)
Neil: But it's not fair to her or to Ana. That little girl has so much promise. She's bright and loving, smart, mature, and it's all because of the woman who raised her. Tyra is her mother in every way that matters. I firmly believe in my heart that they belong together, your honor.
Woman: (Scoffs) 26 years on the bench. This is a first. We will take a brief recess while I reevaluate.
Elizabeth: It looks good.
Neil: Karen...
Karen: (Sighs)
Neil: Karen, listen. Karen.
Karen: What have you done? (Whispering) What have you done?
Chloe: I'll take a double espresso, please.
Billy: Decaf. You're wound up enough as it is. I can hear your heart beating from here.
Chloe: (Sighs) Because I am going crazy. There is nothing that we can do, Billy.
Billy: Yes, there is. I've already done it, okay? I talked to Lily. She's gonna ask Cane to drop his petition of custody.
(Clears throat)
Chloe: I already tried that, and she couldn't do anything.
Billy: Yeah, I know.
Chloe: So then what makes you think that it'll be any different?
Billy: It will.
Chloe: Why?
Billy: Because it has to, okay?
Chloe: You're as scared as I am, aren't you?
Billy: No, I'm not scared. I'm not scared.
Chloe: No, no. It's okay. It's okay. It helps me, because I don't think I could go through this alone.
Billy: Nothing's gonna happen to my girls.
Jill: So...
Cane: (Clears throat)
Jill: You're going to tell the judge at your custody hearing that you quit your job in this economy? How are you gonna look?
Cane: Hopefully, like a man of principal.
Jill: (Sighs)
Cane: See, Mom, the business world-- this--this--this business world is not what I thought it would be. You know, all the infighting, all the backstabbing-- it makes me sick. I don't want to spend my day surrounded by that, and I sure as hell-- I sure as hell-- I don't want to bring that stress home to my family.
Jill: Oh, Cane.
Cane: Anyway, I have to get to the custody hearing. Are you sure you don't want to come with me?
Jill: Uh, I don't think it would make you look too good to be seen with the "Wicked witch of Genoa City."
Cane: (Laughs) I'll risk that.
Jill: (Sighs) Yeah. The press will probably be there, Honey. They'll pounce.
Cane: All right. I'll call you later, okay?
Jill: You know I'm always in your corner.
Cane: I know. I love you.
Jill: I love you too, Sweetie. Bye.
[Jill remembering]
Jill: Well, y-you know those Jabot shares that you transferred to me enabling me to fire Jack and Ashley? The thing is Jack has been hounding me about them. He's trying to confirm that you were the one behind my getting the shares in the first place. Can you imagine how disappointed Ashley would be if she found out the truth?
Jill: I have some news that I think both of you will find very interesting.
Jack: Oh, what kind of news?
Ashley: What do you want in return? There has to be a catch.
Jill: No. No catch.
Ashley: You're not looking for work? I know you went begging to Victor.
Jill: Excuse me?
Ashley: And unfortunately, we're not gonna be needing your services at Jabot, either.
Jill: I did not beg Victor for a job.
Ashley: That's not what I heard.
Jill: Well, I'm sure he left part of our conversation out. I would be happy to fill you in on that.
Chloe: She's smiling in her sleep. I love when she does that.
Billy: Well, take a picture.
Chloe: Okay.
Billy: No, don't use the flash, though. You'll wake her up.
Chloe: Okay. Oh. See?
Billy: Wow. Yeah.
(Laughs)
Chloe: I wonder what she's dreaming about.
Billy: Oh, probably growing up, getting big enough to borrow Mommy's clothes.
Chloe: Mm-hmm. Daddy's car.
Billy: No way. Now easy there. Getting a little ahead of yourself, don't you think, Sprout? Let's focus on first steps.
Chloe: First words.
Billy: Yeah.
Chloe: Her first trip to the principal's office.
Billy: Who, our kid? No, never. No way.
Chloe: Do you really think we're gonna be there for all of that, both of us?
Billy: Of course we will.
Chloe: Okay.
Billy: Let's, uh, let's just enjoy the moment, okay?
Jill: Thank you so much.
Jack: I don't remember asking you to join us.
Jill: Well, that's just tough, because you're gonna listen to what I have to say.
Ashley: (Sighs)
Jack: Ash? You okay?
Ashley: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just not interested in your gossip.
Jack: Oh, you can't blame her. She's got nothing else to do...
Jill: (Sighs)
Jack: Unlike us. We, of course, have Billy's custody hearing. We have to be there to support him, 'cause his mother certainly isn’t.
Ashley: So, what, you're gonna be there supporting Cane, I assume?
Jill: No, I am not going.
Jack: Oh? Afraid to show your face in public?
Jill: After what they wrote about me in that rag?
Jack: Oh, then you did read it.
Jill: No, and I don't intend to.
Jack: Poor Cane. What's he gonna do without your skirt to hide behind?
Jill: You know what? I'm very proud of my son. He's doing what he believes is right.
Ashley: You notice how she said "Son" as in singular?
Jack: Oh, yes, I did notice.
Jill: (Sighs)
Jack: It's a shame you and Billy aren't any closer. You have so much in common. For starters, neither of you has a real mother.
Jill: You're really enjoying this, aren't you, kicking me while I'm down? You of all people should know that that's when I am most dangerous. If Katherine can rise from the dead, so can I.
Ashley: (Groans)
Jill: What's the matter, Ashley? Satan's spawn giving you indigestion?
Jack: Okay, that's it. We're getting you out of here.
Jill: Not before I tell you what I came to say.
Jack: No one cares, Jill. Go ahead. Continue with your afternoon buzz. Here, some light reading.
Ashley: Come on.
Jack: Come on.
Jill: (Sighs)
Ana: Mr. Cane.
Cane: Hey. What are you guys doing here?
Devon: The judge wanted to talk to Ana before she made her decision.
Cane: Decision? What decision? I thought that Neil and Karen had a lock on this.
Devon: Yeah. Well, Tyra, uh, she decided to petition to adopt her, too, kind of at the last minute.
Ana: But I ran into her and hugged her in front of everybody.
Cane: I understand.
Devon: She's afraid that she upset Karen and Neil.
Cane: You just didn't want to look like you were playing favorites. It's okay.
Ana: But they're both great, but I do miss my mom.
Lily: Hey.
Ana: Hey, Lil. What's happening? Did they make their decision yet?
Lily: Um, not yet, but it shouldn't be much longer, okay?
Ana: Okay.
Lily: Um, can I talk to you?
Cane: Sure. I'll be right back in a second.
Neil: Karen, that wasn't planned.
Karen: Of course not. You didn't think you were gonna have to say anything. Getting Tyra a lawyer-- you thought that would be enough to ruin our chances. I can't even stand the sight of you.
(Door opens)
Man: Court is back in session.
Woman: Mr. Winters, it must have been difficult for you to come forward. I appreciate your candor. I'll be honest with you. I wish it had come a little sooner, so I could have avoided interrogating a 12-year-old girl. Based on the new information Mr. Winters has provided, I'm granting sole and permanent guardianship of Anastasia Hamilton to Tyra Hamilton.
Tyra: Oh! Oh!
Elizabeth: Congratulations.
Tyra: (Sobbing)
Elizabeth: It's okay.
Tyra: Can I go tell her?
Elizabeth: Of course.
Tyra: Yeah?
Elizabeth: Of course.
Ana: What happened?
Tyra: (Sobbing) You are mine, and you are coming home with me, Baby.
Ana: Really?
Tyra: Yes. And no one--no one will ever take you away from me again...
Ana: Mm.
Tyra: Ever. Ever. Oh, I love you so much, Ana.
Ana: I love you, too.
Tyra: (Sniffles) (Whispering) I love you so much.
Neil: (Sighs)
Devon: I'm sorry.
Neil: Yeah. It's all right.
Devon: I really didn't think, uh, Tyra stood a chance.
Neil: She didn’t.
Devon: I guess Ana's testimony, uh, really helped out then, yeah?
Neil: No, Son. Mine did. I-I told the judge that Ana belongs with Tyra.
Devon: How's Karen?
Neil: Not good.
Neil: (Sighs)
Cane: I can't believe your father would do that.
Lily: I know. It was really hard for him. Oh, my gosh. Poor Karen. She was just crushed.
Cane: But why did he do it?
Lily: (Sighs) Because it was the right thing for him to do. You know, Ana does belong with her mother. I don't know. It just shouldn't have been like this-- you know, this big court battle and the lawyers and Ana forced to testify. She must have felt like she was being ripped in half. And trust me, I know what that's like.
Cane: Sweetheart, I know where you're going with this.
Lily: (Sighs) Cane, I just-- I don't want it to be Cordelia up on the stand someday.
Cane: That's not gonna happen, 'cause we're gonna finish this now, once and for all.
Lily: Cane, come on. You know Chloe and Billy are never gonna stop fighting for her. This will go on and on, and she will be caught in the middle. Listen, you have a chance to make things right before Cordelia has to go through what Ana did.
Devon: Hey, I've been looking everywhere for Neil, but I can't find him.
Ana: He didn't even say good-bye. Neither did miss Karen. I made them really upset.
Tyra: No, you didn't, Baby. If you heard all the wonderful things Neil said about you...
Ana: But did Mr. Neil hear what I said about you being my real mom? I did make them feel bad.
Tyra: No, Baby. They know. They know, okay?
Lily: Here, you know what? Why don't we, um, go to the ladies' room?
Tyra: Yeah, go ahead. Thank you.
Lily: Sure.
Tyra: (Sighs)
Devon: Neil told me what he did.
Tyra: Yeah, I know. Devon, I can't believe it. You know, Neil put his marriage on the line for me and my little girl.
Devon: Yeah. They'll work through it.
Tyra: (Sighs) Look, you did not see the look on Karen's face, Devon. God knows that she's not my favorite person, but I don't wish this on anyone.
(Telephone rings)
Karen: Hello? Yes. Thank you. I'll be down.
Neil: Karen.
Karen: (Sighs)
Neil: What's going on? Where are you going?
Karen: As far away from here as I can get.
Jill: (Sighs) Bartender, another highball, please.
Man: Sure.
Jill: (Sighs)
Jack: They're bringing your car around. I'm gonna drive you home.
Ashley: Oh, Jackie, that's not necessary.
Jack: Don't tell me this is just morning sickness. You were feeling a whole lot worse when Jill came over.
Ashley: Doesn't everyone?
Jack: You need to avoid people like Jill and Gloria and a civil suit against Gloria. It's not good for the baby.
Ashley: Mm.
(Groans)
Jack: What? What?
Ashley: Oh, God. Something's wrong. I need to see my doctor. Aah!
Lily: Okay, bye. (Sighs) All right, so Michael is on his way.
Cane: (Sighs) Okay. Okay.
Lily: (Laughs) What are you thinking?
Cane: How lucky I am to have you.
Lily: Oh.
Cane: You always know what I need, don't you? Most of the time, before I even know that I need it.
Lily: (Laughs)
Chloe: (Speaking indistinctly)
Cane: (Sighs)
Rafael: Hey, there's the happy family.
Chloe: Hi. Yeah, if you call "Happy" being scared out of your wits.
Rafael: All right, why don't you come on in? We'll get you settled and go over the procedure.
Chloe: All right, well--
Cane: Um, Chloe, can we talk for a minute, please?
Rafael: I think it's probably a better idea if you have--
Chloe: No, you know what? It's--its okay.
Cane: Thank you.
Chloe: I'll be right back.
Billy: All right.
Billy: Any idea what that's about?
Chloe: You know what? If this is going to be another lecture on what a lousy parent I'll be, well, then you can shove it.
Cane: All right, just listen to me. Listen to me this one last time.
Chloe: "One last time"? "One last time"? What does that even mean?
Neil: Karen, come here.
Karen: Hey!
Neil: Hey, don't--don't do this. Don't leave like this. Come on.
Karen: What did you think was gonna happen, Neil, seriously, when you ambushed me in the courtroom like that? Certainly, you must have known it was gonna end this way. It's what you wanted all along.
Neil: No, it isn't what I wanted.
Karen: You know, um, yeah. Maybe you just needed to be everybody's hero-- paying for Tyra's lawyer on the side and then consoling me when we lost Ana. You know what? That's your problem, isn't it, Neil? You always got to be the good guy-- can't let anybody down, not even your mistress.
Neil: She's not my mistress.
Karen: Well, I hope she was a really good one-night stand.
Neil: Karen, you don't want to go.
Karen: I sure as hell don't want to stay!
Neil: Why? Because--because there's no Ana here now?
Karen: Not because there's no Ana. Because there's no us. There never was any of-- any of us, Neil. This was never real for you. It was never real for you.
Neil: You're wrong. Every single moment of this relationship was real for me.
Karen: No, that is-- no, it's not true! You've been doing nothing but pretending, going through the motions. Just going through the motions, and you know why?
Neil: Why?
Karen: Because a good guy cannot admit when he's been using me to get over his dead wife.
Neil: Don't you say that, Karen!
Karen: I don't have to say that! You said it the minute that you slept with that woman and humiliated me in front of all those people!
Neil: Don't you understand? I had to do it. I had to do it for Ana.
Karen: Oh! Oh... (Stammers) Just shut up! Shut up! This has nothing to do with Ana. It has nothing to do with Tyra. It has to do with you and what you wanted, and what you wanted was out. I've always known this was wrong. It was wrong from the very beginning. It's why I left. It's why, when you followed me all the way to New York and begged me to come back, I said no. But you just kept coming after me, and you kept telling me these things and giving me these promises, and you know what? I believed every word you said.
Karen: It doesn't matter... because I was wrong and you were lying. I don't know what that makes you, Neil, but definitely not the good guy.
(Sighs)
(Zips up bag)
Karen: (Sighs)
Ashley: (Sighs) I'm okay.
Estella: Oh. I wasn't expecting you until later.
Jack: Doctor's orders-- lots of rest and relaxation.
Estella: (Sighs) The morning sickness. I'll make you some ginger tea.
Ashley: Oh, no, thank you. Just some water would be terrific.
Estella: Sabrina always said nothing helped clear up the--
Ashley: Just some water, please, Estella.
Estella: Yes, Ma'am.
Ashley: Thank you.
Jack: What is it? You feeling worse?
Ashley: No. It'll pass. I was most concerned about the spotting, but you heard the doctor. It's perfectly normal.
Jack: But still reason for concern.
Ashley: I know. I'm gonna go lie down. Thank you.
Jack: Yeah.
Adam: Dad, is that you?
Jack: Not quite, Junior.
Adam: Jack. What are you doing here?
Jack: I brought Ashley home. She wasn't feeling well.
Adam: She, uh...
Jack: Morning sickness. Nothing dire.
Adam: Okay. Well, that's good. You don't need to stick around. I can look after her.
Jack: That's an interesting choice of words.
Adam: Yes. You, uh, referencing my eyesight?
Jack: Or lack thereof.
Adam: Well, you know, Jack, um, there are some things I can see more clearly now.
Jack: Such as?
Adam: You, your future. You're headed for a fall.
Jack: Is that a threat?
Adam: (Laughs) Yeah, Jack. It's gonna be your own arrogance that brings you down, just like it did to me.
Jack: A sadder, but wiser man. Is that it? Tell me something, is Victor buying any of this?
Adam: (Sighs) I don't know what you mean.
Jack: I'll bet he is. (Laughs) You're a clever young man, Adam. Finding the soft underbelly of the beast. Let me tell you something, it's not gonna work with me. I know you.
Adam: Hey, you know what? That was me before, okay?
Jack: Blindness hasn't changed your character. It's simply given you another angle to work.
Adam: Wh-why all the hostility, Jack?
Jack: Because I knew your mother, and Hope would never use a disability to manipulate anyone.
Adam: Were you thinking about my mother when you set me up?
Jack: Ooh, there's the Adam I know and love...
Adam: (Inhales sharply)
Jack: Angry, vindictive. Whiling away the hours, dreaming of revenge, are you? And bumping into furniture.
Adam: Nice.
Jack: Give it up, Adam. Find better ways to spend your time. Try whittling yourself a walking stick or teach Zapata to be a seeing eye dog.
Ashley: Hey, Jack, that's enough. It's time for you to go.
Woman: Refill?
Mac: Huh? Oh. Oh. No. No, thank you. Um, this isn't working. I'm gonna--I'm gonna go to the gym.
Woman: Great way to clear your head.
Mac: Exactly.
Billy: I don't hear gunfire. That's a good sign, isn't it?
Lily: (Laughs) It's gonna be fine.
Billy: Thanks to you.
Chloe: You have made it very clear what you think of me, Cane, and I'm sure that you are going to make that very clear to Delia if -- if you get custody-- that I am just some lunatic, which I will be if I lose my daughter. Don't you understand that she needs me and I am her mother? Don't you understand that?
Cane: I know.
Chloe: What?
Cane: I've tried to picture what I'm going to say to this little girl when she comes to me one day, and she says, "Why did you take me away from my mom?" And I can't think of a good answer for her, 'cause there is nothing that could justify putting her through what Ana just went through or what I went through, of growing up without a mom.
Chloe: I know. I know. I-I mean, I did, too.
Cane: It is gonna be different for your little girl, 'cause I am dropping the suit.
Chloe: (Sighs) Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you.
Cane: (Sighs)
Chloe: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Cane: (Sighs)
Neil: You're rushing into this.
Karen: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is long overdue. And you know what the worst part of it is? You were right.
Neil: (Sighs)
Karen: Adopting Ana would have been the worst thing that we could have done, because you would have just been left feeling completely trapped and I would have been left feeling more alone than I already am.
Neil: What are you talking about?
Karen: You know what I just don't understand? The one thing I don't understand is why, Neil. Why would you give me that hope if all you were gonna do was rip it out from underneath me?
Neil: Karen, stop with that.
Karen: Stop with what?
Neil: Stop with trying...
Karen: With what?
Neil: To make me look like a scam artist here.
Karen: Trying to make you look--well, you don't--you don't like that image, do you?
Neil: No, because that's--
Karen: No?
Neil: Because that's not who I am.
Karen: No, no, no! Who the hell knows who you are, Neil? You've been playing a role for so long.
Neil: So do you-- do you honestly believe that I've--all I've been doing is just using you?
Karen: I know you have been.
Neil: Karen.
Karen: Let go. Let go!
Neil: Karen, you're wrong. Karen, I love you. I--
Karen: Let--
Neil: If you don't believe anything else I say to you right now, believe that I love you, and I'm sorry.
Karen: Stop it!
Neil: I'm sorry, Karen. Please.
Karen: (Sobs) Stop--
Neil: Don't go.
Karen: Stop lying.
Neil: Don't--
Karen: I hate you.
Neil: Come on.
Karen: I hate you.
Neil: Stop. Just stop it.
Karen: I hate you!
Neil: Just stop. Stop.
Karen: (Crying)
Karen: (Sniffles)
Ashley: Jack, I mean it. Scram.
Jack: Uh, d-don't get all worked up, okay?
Ashley: He's been through enough. Adam doesn't need you rubbing his nose in it.
Jack: Oh, please tell me you're not buying into this crap.
Ashley: This is his home.
Jack: This is a prison to him. Don't ever forget that. And you'd better believe he resents it and you and Victor.
Ashley: Oh, now you're concerned about Victor. Please.
Jack: This man is a snake. He is not to be trusted.
Ashley: I mean it. We're not talking about this. Now go check in on Billy and fill me in, okay? Thank you for everything.
Jack: I'll call you later.
Ashley: Fabulous. Good-bye.
(Door closes)
Ashley: Oh, Adam. I'm so sorry.
Adam: That's all right. Don't be. You're not responsible for Jack any more than Victor's responsible for me. (Sighs) I don't resent my father.
Ashley: I know.
Adam: You know, Jack was right about one thing, though. I'm not worth much these days.
Ashley: (Sighs)
David: Ms. Abbott. David Suns, "National Inquisitor." What is your reaction to the piece in "Restless Style"?
Jill: No comment.
David: Uh, is it true that Mrs. Chancellor's gonna be pressing charges?
Jill: What?
David: For fraud, since you really aren't her daughter. Have you been lying all these years?
Jill: You know what? I am gonna give you a quote. In fact, I'm gonna give you an exclusive-- the real story on Katherine Chancellor. She's the fraud.
Cane: So how does "Aunt Lily" sound to you?
Lily: (Laughs) I could get used to that.
Billy: Good, 'cause I want you in her life. You're a perfect role model.
Lily: (Scoffs)
Billy: What, do you think I'm blowing smoke?
Lily: No.
Billy: You still don't think I cared about you, that I respected you when we were, um, well, whatever the hell we were doing.
Lily: No, I-I know you cared. You must have, or you wouldn't have been able to help as much as you did.
Billy: I did?
Lily: Yeah. I just--it was a hard time... (Sighs) And no one else could have gotten me through it, so thank you.
Billy: All right. You're welcome.
Cane: Well, that's it then. Michael's gonna drop the petition, and it is on you to change the father's name on the birth certificate.
Chloe: Okay. Okay, it's done.
Cane: Don't think I won't be keeping an eye on you.
Chloe: Okay. Good. (Laughs) I want you to be there. You know, you are a part of the family. I really have changed. I want you to know that. Honestly, since I... (Sighs) I know that I tricked you...
Cane: (Sighs)
Chloe: And then I just wanted to be someone else. I wanted to be something bigger. You made me a Chancellor, and Billy made me an Abbott, and Delia has made me a mom, and that is the only name that matters to me now.
Cane: I believe you.
Chloe: Thank you.
Cane: Okay.
Tyra: Look, I don't think we should have come.
Ana: This is my fault.
Karen: (Sighs)
Ana: Everybody's upset.
Karen: (Sniffles)
Ana: It's really my fault. I'm sorry.
Karen: No, Sweetheart. It is not your fault, okay? So just stop that.
Ana: Do you have to leave?
Karen: Yes, I do.
Ana: I'll miss you.
Karen: I'll miss you, too.
Karen: (Sniffles) (Sniffles) (Sighs) (Sighs) (Sniffles)
Neil: Karen.
(Door closes)
Ana: Where do we go now?

Cane: So does that mean the marriage is back on the table?
Phyllis: What am I supposed to do?
Lauren: You need to take Sharon out of the equation.
Jana: Did you hear anything I said?
Kevin: Amber.
