Colleen: Anyone, please. Are you out there? Can you hear me? Please. It's so cold. (Crying) oh, god, please, somebody help me.

Colleen: Oh!

Kevin: Hello, colleen. Calm down.

Colleen: What are you doing here?

Kevin: I was passing by. I saw--

Colleen: Get away from me!

Kevin: I just want to talk to you.

Colleen: Get out of my way.

Kevin: Colleen, you've nothing to worry about. Please, just hear me out. I have something important I need to say, and I need you to listen.

Chris: You want to move out?

Paul: No, believe me. I don't want to. I just think it's best.

Chris: What, tonight? Where will you sleep?

Paul: The office.

Chris: This is about our talk the other day, isn't it, when I turned down your proposal?

Paul: Look, chris, you want to be friends. I get that. We can have lunch, see each other now and then, exchange e-mails or even talk on the phone, for that really personal touch.

Chris: So I won't marry you, and now you can't handle being friends?

Paul: Look, maybe you can keep it that casual, but I can'T. It's driving me insane.

Michael: So you had a talk with victor. He's a fascinating man. It's nice for you.

Phyllis: Yeah, it was.

Michael: And you want me to tell you what victor and you spoke about. Am I hearing you correctly?

Phyllis: Yes, you are.

Michael: You know, I think the altitude of this executive suite is a little too much for you.

Phyllis: You don't have to be coy with me. Victor told me all about what you did.

Michael: He what?

Phyllis: The whole thing.

Michael: He didn'T. He wouldn'T.

Phyllis: , , He didn'T. But your face just did.

Michael: I didn't admit to anything. You startled me. That's all.

Phyllis: Really? Why did I do that?

Michael: It's all that I-know-what-you-did business.

PhyllisI've never seen that look of fear in your eyes, michael.

Michael: You're dreaming.

Phyllis: Come on, michael. He didn't hire you to make sure the christmas cards got out on time.

Michael: Who said he did? I was hired to handle important and sensitive matters for the great man.

Phyllis: Oh, yeah, so important and sensitive. So important, victor swore me to secrecy.

Michael: He mention my name?

Phyllis: No.

Michael: Then keep your secret and leave me out of it.

Phyllis: I don't think I can do that. I don't think I can do that at all.

Victor: I have never known you to drink alone.

Nick: There's a lot you don't know about me.

Victor: Son, our relationship is at an all-time low.

Nick: Tell me about it.

Victor: How about you tell me about it? I don't know what's going on. I'm the man I've always been. I do my business the way I've always done it. And suddenly, in your eyes, I'm beneath contempt?

Nick: It's not all that sudden.

Victor: Look, I know it isn't easy--

Nick: What, being the son of a powerful man? No, dad, it's awesome. You see, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, I'm told what to do, how to act, what to think. I love it.

Victor: You have a choice, you know?

Nick: Oh, yeah?

Victor: Yeah. You can accept what I've given you, and you can accept the fact that I've a right to exercise some control, or you can spit in my face, reject me, my wealth, my values. But you're trying to have it both ways, and that ain't gonna fly. You got that? Good afternoon. Police need help finding a man who sexually assaulted a seven year old edmonton girl on the weekend. We'll show you his photo at six.+++This year's checkstop campaign has a twist. Police will be looking for drunks - and drivers on drugs.+++And - the sale of the trappers hit a bit of a snag today at city hall - we'll tell you what happened tonight on global news at six. Ig splash can make you pretty hungry.

J.T.: Well, it looks like somebody's hitting the books.

Sierra: Hey, J.T. Yeah, big history test.

J.T.: I'm sure you'll ace it.

Sierra: I wish I were.

J.T.: Oh, come on. I heard about those straight "a's" of yours.

Sierra: It's a little hard concentrating right now.

J.T.: A few distractions, huh?

Sierra: What, like my best friend almost getting killed? Yeah, that's some distraction.

J.T.: Sierra, how is colleen? I mean, really.

Sierra: I was just gonna ask you the same thing.

Colleen: Why'd you follow me in here, huh? Figured you'd do it right this time? Get rid of me for good?

Kevin: Do you really think I'd lay a finger on you, colleen? Huh? I'm not stupid. Anything happens to you, I'm the first person everybody comes after.

Colleen: Then what do you want?

Kevin: I told you--to talk.

Colleen: Then say whatever it is that you want toayay, and let me get out of here.

Kevin: I need you to know that I didn't do it. I didn't set this fire, and I didn't try and hurt you. I know you're never gonna believe that, but it's the truth.

Colleen: That's not what the police think. I hear they've been asking you all kinds of questions.

Kevin: Yeah, that's right. Questions about you, the fire, my relationship with lily. They even took my computer. I guess to look for proof I'm some kind of pervert.

Colleen: Yes, I know.

Kevin: Yeah? Well, what you don't know is that I got my computebaback tonight. Guess how much evidence the cops found? Zero.

Colleen: That's impossible. All those hours that you spent chatting with lily and how many others? They must have found something.

Colleen: Of course. You deleted it all.

Kevin: The point is, they didn't find anything, and they're not going to, because I'm not the person you believe I am. The sooner you and all of your buddies realize that, the better off you're going to be, because you're barking up the wrong tree, colleen. And now what we need is to put this all behind us.

Colleen: That's wtt you want me to do, huh? Pretend this never happened? Just forget all about it? Ever heard of "karma," kevin? It means you don't get away with anything.

Neil: Sorry, honey. I didn't get back here as quickly as I thought I would. Hope you weren't here by yourself too long.

Lily: It's okay. I was fine.

Neil: Just don't want you thinking that I'm trying to be your watchdog. Know what I mean?

Lily: I don'T. I know you're just trying to protect me.

Neil: You got that right, kiddo, 'cause I really worry about you.

Lily: You know, it's funny. For months, I didn't think thatI needed anyone to protect me. Now I know better. But it's too late.

Neil: Lily, did something happen? 'Cause you sound lower than low, like you're really in the dumps.

Lily: Aunt olivia was here.

Neil: Did she just come by for a visit?

Lily: Not exactly. She was here as a doctor.

Neil: I see.

Lily: I don't think that you do.

Neil: What was that? What did you just say?

Lily: I said I don't think that you see, 'cause there's no way you could. Because I lied.

N neil: You lied about what?

Lily: I said that me and kevin used a condom, and it wasn't true.

Neil: Oh, lily, dear god.

Lily: And now I have a disease. I have a sexually transmitted disease. life.Global invites you to get involved and make a difference. November twelfth small.Global news is a

Victoria: Oh, darn, someone's here. Too bad for you. You don't get to be queen of the manor.

Sharon: You know, you sound more like your mother every day.

Victoria: Thank you. What a lovely compliment.

Sharon: Yes, I'm sure that's how you see it.

Victoria: You know, this really isn't a good time, sharon.

Sharon: Why? What's going on?

Victoria: My mom has called a family meeting.

Sharon: Oh,iright. Yeah, I know all about that.

Victoria: Well, then you must know that you're not on the guest list.

Michael: Why are you harassing me?

Phyllis: Why aren't you being honest with me?

Michael: What did he tell you?

Phyllis: I want to hear it from you.

Michael: Why?

Phyllis: Well, because I promised victor that I wouldn't reveal what he told me, and I'd like you tconfess. Then we can talk. I really want to talk to you, michael.

Michael: Once again, why?

Phyllis: Why? Well, because it's the world I live in-- this place, this company. I sacrificed a hell of a lot for newman enterprises. My marriage is falling apart for newman enterprises. I think that I can ask what the hell is going on here, why are we succeeding, who the players are.

Michael: We're all players. We all contribute.

Phyllis: We all didn't break the law.

Michael: How the hell much is he telling you?

Phyllis: Well, not details, but the substance, all the substance.

>>Michael: But he didn't mention my name.

Phyllis: No, he didn't, michael.

Michael: So you just thought you'd try and trick me into revealing myself. Nice work.

Phyllis: I'm worried about you. I'm really worried about you. You could risk it all.

Michael: Oh, well, there was a whole lot less risk before you found your way into the data stream. I wonder who else he's telling. What is the matter with the man? Is he suicidal or what?

Pllllis: I think he wanted to get everything off his chest.

Michael: What, was he all eaten up with guilt? You really don't know the man, do you?

Phyllis: Oh, I think I do know the man, because I told him he would need a friend in t f future.

Michael: Based on what?

Phyllis: Based on all the rumors that I'm hearing that victor tried to pull a fast one before the safra rollout.

Michael: We both know who started that.

Phyllis: Mm-hmm, nicholas.

Michael: You got it.

Phyllis: So now that I know that they aren't empty rumors, you and victor are in a lot of trouble if nicholas really does know things and plans to do something with them.

Nick: You think I'm taking advantage of you?

Victor: Of course you are, son, but that goes both ways. I'm proud of you. I love you, and I boast about you to my friends. I say, "look at this kid. He's mine."

Nick: You know, dad, that's cool. I don't hear any of that stuff.

Victor: It's evident in everything I do. Everything I've ever done is for you, is for my kids.

Nick: But you think I'm helping myself to too much of the good stuff and not saying--

Victor: All I want to hear from you is a little appreciation, all right, for the things you have been given, a little respect for the years I put in working for this.

Nick: Am I supposed to respect you for the type of man you are? For your character, for your soul? For what you've accomplished, no matter how you've accomplished it?

Victor: Let me tell you something about how I got where I am.

Nick: Look, dad, if this is the speech about, "a man's got to do what a man's got to do," I've heard it a hundred times.

Victor: Son, I'm talking to you now. You sit down, and you listen me.

Nick: All right. Go ahead.

Victor: What has gotten into you? Ng ]

Chris: This is about my not wanting to get married right now?

Paul: What can I say?

Chris: I'm sorry.

Paul: Chris, I love you. I need you. I want to share a bed with you. I want to share my life with you. But to share an apartment and nothing else? That doesn't work for me.

Chris: Well, please, don't leave, not like this.

Paul: Okay, if you can trust me, then trust my instincts. Take a leap of faith. Say you'll marry me.

Neil: So is, uh... is that what olivia came to tell you?

Lily: Yeah, she had my test results.

Neil: Honey, why? Why? Why would you do-- why didn't you use a condom? All right, listen. I'm sorry. I'm not going to go there. Please, forgive me.

Lily: No, dad, I'm just hoping that you can forgive me.

Neil: Done.

Lily: Thank you.

Neil: So what exactly are we dealing with here?

Lily: Well, it's not the most scary thing.

Neil: So it's not H.I.V.?

Lily: No, thank god, and I'm not pregnant, either.

Neil: Well, I guess we have quite a bit to be thankful for, don't we?

Lily: Yeah, I guess we do. Well, I do, anyway.

Neil: Lily, whatever's happening in your life, your mother and I are gonna go through it with you, you understand me? Because your problems are our problems, too. Whatever it is, we are going to face it together, and we are going to deal with it, you understand me?

Lily: It's called chlamydia, and you treat it with antibiotics. And if you don't take the medicine, then you might never be able to have kids or anything. I'm taking it. Oh, dad, I feel so cheap and dirty. Will that ever go away?

Kevin: Don't push me, colleen.

Kevin: I need you to do me a favor.

Colleen: You are asking me for a favor?

Kevin: Tell lily she can't come by and see me anymore. Her dad got a restraining order.

Colleen: Yes, which means you need to leave her alone.

Kevin: Look, I'm trying to do the right thing here, okay? I never meant to hurt lily, but sometimes things happen in relationships.

Colleen: Like you know what a relationship is. You go after kids because they're easy prey. You like to feel like the big, strong man in control.

Kevin: You shouldn't be saying things like that, colleen.

Colleen: Why, because the truth hurts?

Kevin: No, because you're wrong! You are so wrong about me, and that's why I needed to see you! God, haven't you been listening to me?

Colleen: Okay, okay. Okay, I'm sorry, okay? I mean, I shouldn't have said that. I mean, if the police have no evidence, you know--

Kevin: Right.

Colleen: I'm just really worried about lily.

Kevin: You don't believe any of that.

Colleen: I have to go. I'm meeting J.T., And I'm late.

Kevin: Fine, we're done here.

Colleen: And you know what? You're scum! You're not going to get away with this! I won't let you! You will pay for what you did to lily and me! You're looking live at edmonton from our skytracker atop manulife place.Good afternoon. I'm lesley macdonald. Today at 5:30...a group of parents in edmonton is putting pressure on the klein government to follow through on recommendations to deal with classroom woes. And sheila copps says news she's stepping out of the liberal leadership race...is news to her.Plus...trying to get your christmas shopping done? Sharon: Ah, yes, nikki has made it quite clear that she doesn't consider me part of this family.

Victoria: Then you won't mind leaving.

Sharon: Do you agree with her that I should be excluded?

Victoria: It's her meeting.

Sharon: Yes or no, victoria?

Victoria: Yes, obviously.

Sharon: Really? So your knee-jerk reaction is to just side against me before you even know where I stand?

Victoria: What are you talking about, where you stand? We don't even know what this is about.

Sharon: I know how I feel about what's happening in this family, what's going on between nick and his father. And you may surprised to find out, victoria, that we are on the same side.

Michael: Have you spoken with nicholas?

Phyllis: No, I'm not exactly on his list of confidantes.

Michael: But you're on victor's?

Phyllis: Wow, I guess I am now. Oh, which means you can speak freely with me. It must hurt to keep all of that bottled up inside.

Michael: Yeah, this is just great. You know, I think I liked it better, when everything was all bottled up inside. You know, that's where secrets really should be kept. Suddenly I just don't feel as in control as I did. I need to know what nicholas knows.

Phyllis: Oh, well, I can find out for you.

Michael: No, no, you've done enough detective work for one day, thank you very much.

Phyllis: Mm-hmm. Listen, even though I got you to admit that you were part of this scheme to make sure that safra got special treatment at the department stores, I'm not gonna tell anybody.

Michael: Thanks for all that. Victor tells jack's wife, right?

Phyllis: But don't doubt my loyalty to this company or my friendship with you. I would never do anything to get you in trouble.

Michael: Great. Cheers. Wonderful.

Phyllis: Oh, you can be as sarcastic as you want, but you'd better hope I'm telling the truth.

Michael: Is that a threat?

Phyllis: No, absolutely not. We're n the same team.

Phyllis: Oh, you know what, michael, by the way, great work. You should be real proud of yourself. Safra wouldn't have succeeded without you.

Michael: Damn straight.

Victor: Son, I'm proud of you, and I love you, but there's a limit to what I'm willintoto put up with, all right?

Nick: Dad, you don't have to put up with anything. Nobody's holding a gun to your head.

Victor: Why do you have this tone of moral superiority in your voice?

Nick: I have my reasons.

Victor: Why? Because I play hard, I play for keeps, is that it? Perhaps you should emulate that.

Nick: I have no desire to emulate you.

Victor: That settles that then, doesn't it?

Nick: What?

Victor: I am through mentoring you.

Nick: So be it.

Victor: What happened to you? Why are you so damn cold with your father? Do you know what you're giving up?

Nick: I know what I'm doing.

Victor: I don't think you do.

Nick: Dad, do you even care why I feel the way I do?

Victor: Son, you may have your reasons. I don't know what the hell they are, but I give you the benefit of the doubt. All I can tell you, I will no longer deal with this attitude. You got that?

Nick: You've done a lot of talking, but one thing you've never learned how to do is listen.

Victor: Son, get out now. I'm through talking to you. 12 months old.

Paul: Well, I guess there's my answer.

Chris: But you have to understand something.

Paul: What?

Chris: You have beaten yourself up so much about what happened after ricky's baptism. This has nothing to do with that, believe me.

Paul: Look, chris, if it's not me, then--

Chris: It's me, okay? I just need some time. Paul, you are a wonderful, sexy, interesting man that any woman would be proud to call hers, but--

Paul: Well, hey, take a walk on the wild side.

Chris: That is exactly what I don't want to do.

Paul: Well, then I guess it's time for me to mount up and ride off on the horse that brung me.

Chris: Paul... please, forgive me.

Paul: Chris, there's nothing to forgive.

Chris: I just wish it didn't have to be like this.

Paul: So do.. so do I.

J.T.: Where is colleen? She should be here by now.

Sierra: I'm sure she'll be here any minute, J.T.

J.T.: I'm just worried about her, you know? I should have met her back at the athletic club.

Sierra: She probably just worked out longer than she planned and lost track of time.

J.T.: Well, I'd try her on her cell phone, but she hasn't gotten a new one yet.

Sierra: Well, why don't you ask her instead?

Colleen: Hey, guys.

J.T.: Hey. We were getting worried about you.

Colleen: I know, sorry. I took the long way.

J.T.: Hey, you don't look so good.

Sierra: Are you okay?

J.T.: Colleen?

Colleen: Yeah, I'm here. I'm here.

J.T.: Did you really come straight from the gym? Something's got you freaked out.

Colleen: I went to gina'S.

J.T.: Oh, I knew it.

Colleen: Look, I know you said I shouldn't, but I just had to. I'm sorry. J.T., It was so awful.

J.T.: What, what happened?

Colleen: Kevin was there. Kevin was there, and I was so scared.

Neil: What do I say to you? My little girl, way too fast, you're grown up.

Lily: And I thought I was so mature. I was really just dumb.

Neil: I don't know, baby, you just made some bad choices.

Lily: Yeah, I did, like thinking I was in love with that weirdo freak for one.

Neil: Well, you just got sucked in by a guy who uses girls. You know, evidently kevin is quite the master manipulator. It doesn't make you mbmb or stupid. It just means that you were vulnerable and lonely.

Lily: Yeah, but so are a lot of other girls. They don't get themselves into this kind of a mess. I have a sexually transmitted disease. That is so gross.

Neil: Lily... I would do anything, absolutely anything, to make this go away for you.

Lily: But you can'T.

Neil: No, no, baby, we can't change what's already happened, but there's no reason that you have to let this ruin your life, you know? There's no reason that you can't put this behind you and go on to become a better, wiser, stronger person because of it. And your mother and i are going to be right here to help you do that.

Neil: You know, kiddo, things could be far, far worse. I mean, fortunately, from what you've said, this is a very curable disease.

Lily: Yeah, and we caught it early, too. Aunt liv said there won't be any lasting effects.

Neil: That's good. Saving grace, thangogod.

Lily: Yeah, I guess.

Neil: You guess? What do you mean?

Lily: I feel so weird, you know, like someone else is walking around in my body.

Neil: Well, maybe that's because, honey, a lot has happened to you these past few days and weeks. You thought you were in love for the first time. You became intimate, and then you found out that the relationship was something very different from what you first thought.

Lily: Yeah.

Neil: Part of the reason, I'm convinced, is because of the secrecy and isolation of the internet. Don't get me wrong now, kid. I think that the internet is an amazing, incredible tool. No other generation has ever had anything quite like it. But I hope you understand and realize there's also a negative side, that you can't just trust everybody that you meet there.

Lily: Believe me, I have learned that lesson.

Lily: Look, um, dad, I want to ask u u for a favor.

Neil: Sure, sweetie, anything. What is it?

Lily: Can we please not tell mom about this? The S.T.D., I mean.

Neil: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, now I can't, you know, keep something like that from your mother. What are you talking about?

Lily: Why not? I mean, what good would it do for her to know?

Neil: Well, lily, first of all, you need your mother's advice.

Lily: No, I don'T. I really don't, dad. Please, don't tell her, please.

Neil: Ah... yeah, you're-- it's a huge secret that you're asking me to keep, you know?

Lily: Dad, I told you because I trust you. And I don't see why mom needs to know right now anyway. Alall it's going to do is just upset her, and why do that?

Neil: All right, for now it will be between you and me.

For now.

Lily: Okay.

Neil: Okay? But there's something that I want you to do. It's gonna be very difficult, but it's got to be done.

Lily: What?Neil: Knowing what we know now, I want to go to the police with this information. I want to nail that scum kevin, arrest him and put him in jail.

Lily: God, dad--

Neil: Now listen to me. You don't have to decide right now, all right? But I want you to remember every time kevin goes on the internet, he could be going after another young girl, another young girl that he could be putting through the same hell that you're going through right now. My darling, I want you to think about this very deeply before you say no. Istmas moment didn't start with the perfect gift.

Victoria: You're right, sharon, that would surprise me since we so seldom agree on anything.

Sharon: Look, nick is up to something, and it has something to do with your father.

Victoria: So?

Sharon: So I'm really worried about it.

Victoria: Why?

Sharon: Because I have rarely seen nicholas this intense and so full of hatred. I mean, that's really the only word for it.

Victoria: And you think this hatred is directed at my father?

Sharon: I know it is, and you must have seen it. He's really not trying to hide it.

Victoria: What do you think this is about?

Sharon: He won't tell me.

Victoria: You'rhihis wife. He won't tell you anything?

Sharon: Well, I think he's afraid that I'm gonna try and stop whatever this is that he's trying to put in motion.

Victoria: He must have told you something.

Sharon: Almost nothing, but I get the feeling that this is really intense, and nick is out for blood. That I know for sure.

Victoria: So this something, whatever it is, when you do think it's gonna happen?

Sharon: Sometime soon if he hasn't acted already. Let me tell you, it scares me half to death to think what it could do to this family. We could be torn apart all over again, and that is the last thing that any of us needs. (Door closes)

Nikki: Oh, hi, darling. I'm glad you're here. Is your brother here yet?

Victoria: No, not yet.

Nikki: He will be soon, along with your father. I'm gonna go upstairs and change. I'll be right back.

Victoria: Okay, I'll be here.

Nikki: Sharon, it's time for you to go.

Sharon: Excuse me?

Nikki: Look, we're going be discussing something very personal. I can't have you here tonight.

Sharon: Or any other night, right, nikki?

Nikki: Sharon, the meeting is about to begin. You can't be here then.

Victoria: Mother, no, I think sharon should stay.

Michael: Hey, nick, you got a second?

Nick: What do you want?

Michael: I'd like to talk to you.

Nick: I got nothing to say to you.

Michael: All this attitude. What do you know, nick? All this anger, all this upset-- for all that, you really should know something. You act like you've got an ace up your sleeve you're just dying to slap down.

Nick: I don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Michael: Really?

Nick: Baldwin, you're being paranoid. I mean, seriously, if I had an ace up my sleeve that could ruin you, don't you think I would use it? Huh?

"the young and the restless"...

Sharon: Nikki, you are being totally unreasonable.
