Neil: Lily, I'm waiting. You still haven't answered my question.
Lily: Mom, please.
Dru: Neil, maybe we shouldn't, you know, get into this right now.
Neil: Shouldn't what? Insist that this girl open up and be honest with us?
Dru: No, I'm just saying now is not a good time to pressure her.
Neil: No, wait, wait, wait.
Dru: Neil...
Neil: Wait a minute. Wait. Lily, you must agree that these last few days have been really crazy around here. And why is that?
Lily: I'm sure you think it's because of Kevin.
Neil: Kevin-- this man that you met on the internet and welcomed into your life, and meanwhile, you're kicking your family to the curb. How much damage has he done? Now I know what your friends think. Lily, I want an honest answer, right now.
Lily: Okay, fine. I slept with him. Are you happy now?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Pounding on door)
Kevin: Yeah?
Bobby: Open up.
Kevin: Yeah, Bobby, listen, I'm really busy right now.
Bobby: No, you get over here and open this door right now before I bust it down. (Hits on door)
Kevin: Okay.
Bobby: Now why don't you tell me what the hell is going on?
Kevin: I don't know. You're the one who's upset. You tell me.
Bobby: Yeah, you're damn right I'm upset. I just had the cops down at my place, asking me questions about you.
Kevin: Ah, jeez. Look, I didn't do anything wrong, all right?
Bobby: Hey, let me tell you something. It doesn't always matter what you did do or didn't do, 'cause when you bring trouble down on me, it really doesn't matter what you did.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Door opens) (Door closes)
Victoria: Hey.
Victor: Hi, sweetheart.
Victoria: Drinking alone I see.
Victor: (Chuckles) don't worry; I'm not headed down the road to perdition.
Victoria: Never crossed my mind. Where's Mom?
Victor: I don't know. I guess she'll be home soon.
Victoria: You okay?
Victor: Yeah, I'm all right.
Victoria: You seem kind of serious about something.
Victor: (Sighs) I just got some news about something.
Victoria: What?
Victor: One day, I'll let you know, okay? I don't want to talk about it right now. Tell me about you. How was your day?
Victoria: Oh, well, it didn't start out so great, but it picked up as the day progressed.
Victor: Does that mean you saw a certain Mr. Damon Porter?
Victoria: That's amazing. How'd you guess?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phyllis: Uh-huh. Speak, speak, speak, or go away.
Sharon: Uh, you know, Phyllis, look, if you're busy--
Phyllis: Oh, I'm sor-- I'm sorry. Sharon, come in. I haven't seen you around here in awhile. What's up?
Sharon: Uh, hey, you're working late tonight, aren't you?
Phyllis: Oh, this is no different from any other night.
Sharon: So, uh, Safra numbers still strong?
Phyllis: Yeah, they're strong and getting stronger.
Sharon: You know, I heard that a lot of the success was because of what you've got going on with the web site.
Phyllis: Oh, you know, we all pull our weight. I'm sure you didn't come here just to flatter me. So why don't you tell me what's on your mind?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nick: Thanks for coming all the way out here, buddy.
Silva: Not a problem, Nick. So you said this is about something big?
Nick: Yeah. I have reason to believe that some of the country's largest retailers were paid to give Safra products better shelf space during the product rollout.
Silva: The retailers were paid?
Nick: Actually, it was some of the employees at the retailers.
Silva: By certain Newman employees.
Nick: Yes.
Silva: In exchange for positioning the Safra products in the most advantageous way.
Nick: That's right.
Silva: That's commercial bribery.
Nick: How serious is it?
Silva: Well, let me put it this way. Nick, if you've got an employee that's dumb enough to put his head, as well as yours, on the block just to sell makeup, you've got to do something about it, and fast.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack: Liv, how's my sister?
Olivia: Physically, she's fine.
Jack: Well, we know that. I'm asking you know...
Brad: Mentally, Jack. Say it. Mentally's the problem, and Ash is a mess. Worse than that.
Olivia: Okay, Brad--
Brad: Well, isn't she? The way she just fell apart... I mean, you saw it. It was like she was back to normal, and then, bam!
Olivia: Well, we just confronted her with the death of her baby.
Jack: And when we did, she wasn't ready to hear it.
Brad: Oh, come on, guys, just say it. We didn't confront her, I confronted her. I showed her there wasn't a baby in that blanket, and she couldn't handle it.
Olivia: Okay, stop blaming yourself.
Brad: Well, who else should I blame? If I'd kept my cool tonight, my wife wouldn't be in this hospital. Ash wouldn't be on the verge of a total mental breakdown.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin: Listen, Bobby, I can't help it if somebody is trying to accuse me of something I didn't do. It's that jerk J.T., Brittany's friend. He and this chick Colleen, they been trying to get me in trouble for weeks.
Bobby: You tell me everything you know about that fire that the cops are talking about.
Kevin: The one at Gina’s place?
Bobby: Yeah.
Kevin: It's got nothing to do with me. I swear. I was walking by, I saw the smoke, suddenly, everyone jumped on me and accused me of torching the place. It's--it's crazy.
Bobby: And that's it? That's everything? Hmm? You're not lying? Because if there's something that you left out that I should know about--
Kevin: Okay, okay. Look, look, there's-- there's this girl I was seeing, and it turns out that she's underage.
Bobby: Oh, that's beautiful. You're not an arsonist, you're a child molester.
Kevin: I had no way of knowing, believe me. She doesn't look underage. If you could see her, you'd agree. She's really mature, and she's--
Bobby: You know, I dot want to hear anymore about this. I don't want any more trouble with the cops. Bookkeepers like you are a dime a dozen. In fact, you know what? You and me, let's just call it a day. You give me back my files. I'll find somebody else.
Kevin: I can’t.
Bobby: You're not gonna give me back my files?
Kevin: I said I can’t. They're on my computer.
Bobby: So what does that mean?
Kevin: The cops took it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lily: If it means anything... I'm really sorry.
Neil: You're sorry that you slept with Kevin, or sorry that, uh, we found out?
Dru: Neil, don’t. She's--
Neil: No, no, don't you try to speak for her. Lily obviously feels she's an adult. She can speak for herself just fine. Can't you, Lily?
Lily: Sure, Dad.
Neil: How long has this been going on?
Lily: Not that long.
Neil: Let me get this right. You just, uh, you jumped into bed with the first guy you ever dated?
Lily: It was not like that!
Neil: Then, please, please, make me understand. What was it like?
Dru: Neil, he told her that there was only one way she could prove that she loved him.
Neil: I can't believe it. I... that's the oldest line in the book. I can't believe that guys are still using that line.
Lily: If you're trying to make me feel like a bigger idiot than I already do, it's working.
Lily: I'm sorry, Dad. I never meant to let you down.
Neil: No, princess... you let yourself down.
Lily: I never meant to hurt you.
Neil: I know that.
Lily: I hope that someday, you'll be able to forgive me.
Neil: Drucilla... where did we go wrong here?
Dru: I'm wondering that myself, Neil.
Lily: Yeah, but, you guys, it wasn't about you. When I was online chatting with Kevin... it was exciting. It was like going on a trip all by myself. It was like an adventure. It was my adventure, and I liked it because... I had a secret. You know, I had something that other people didn't, something that I didn't have to share if I didn't want to.
Neil: And you needed this why?
Lily: Because it made me feel special. It made me feel important, like I really mattered to someone.
Dru: Honey, but don't you think you matter to us?
Lily: No, I don't mean that. It's just that with Kevin, it felt like I was the center of his world. You know, not just an afterthought. I don't mean to hurt you guys, but half of the time, that's how I feel with you.
Olivia: She'd built a house of cards in her mind. It was shaky.
Brad: Yeah, but that house of cards was holding up, wasn't it? And I came along and knocked it over.
Olivia: Okay. We can stand here talking about who's to blame, but I don't see how that's gonna help Ashley.
Jack: Listen, where do we go from here?
Olivia: I'd like to start experimenting with medication.
Brad: Oh, great, drugs. You know, maybe Damon was right. With some love and understanding, maybe with some patience, she could've gotten through this.
Olivia: Damon Porter knows nothing. The loss of Ashley’s baby has affected her on a chemical level. Her neurotransmitters are way out of balance. No amount of hugs and kisses is gonna change that.
Jack: We are putting Ashley in your hands. Make no mistake about that.
Brad: All right, listen. I got to take a walk.
Jack: Liv, I get the sense that there's something more that you're not telling us. What is it? Talk to me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victor: At this moment, I can't think of any other man who would put this kind of smile on your face.
Victoria: Is that all you're gonna say?
Victor: Did you expect a different reaction?
Victoria: Wow. Well, either it's the tequila or the news that you got today, but something has put you off your feet. I thought you would take my head off for seeing Damon again.
Victor: Am I really that bad?
Victoria: Let's just say you're opinionated with a capital "O."
Victor: I know I've often interfered in my children's lives... maybe too often, but I just can't help myself, you know?
Victoria: I know.
Victor: But you know that I've always done that with the best of intentions. I mean, I'm just like most parents who want the best for their kids.
Victoria: Well, don't get too down on yourself. You've been a very good father. I realize we've had our differences, but, um... I couldn't have picked a better dad if I tried.
Victor: Let me ask you something. Have you always been comfortable being Victor Newman’s daughter?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
J.T.: So Kevin was here talking to you?
Sierra: Yeah, and when i just happened to mention you, Colleen, and that you'd talked to the police, I mean, you should've seen the look on his face. He was, like, so freaked.
J.T.: Yeah, because he thought she died at the fire at Gina’s.
Sierra: Totally. He tried to cover it up, say that he was just so worried about you, which is a big, fat lie. He was practically jumping out of his skin.
Colleen: Oh, it's too bad no one else was here. I mean, maybe we could've--
Sierra: No, wait. It gets better. Then this detective came in and asked to talk to Kevin--
J.T.: Oh, good. Finally they got something to connect him to this fire.
Sierra: (Sighs) I don't know. I wasn't close enough to hear them talk, but the detective took his laptop.
Colleen: His laptop? Why would he do that?
J.T.: They're probably gonna get into that thing. You know, find out some of his screen names and figure out how many of these young girls he's been messing around with.
Colleen: You really think so?
J.T.: Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure the cops have people who can do that kind of thing.
Sierra: The guy's gonna be so nailed. I bet he has hundreds of girls he chats with. He's such a pervert. Colleen, what's wrong?
Colleen: Oh. I was just thinking about Lily. You know how upset she's gonna be when she finds out all of the other girls he's used, just like her?
J.T.: Yeah, at least now she'll know the truth. It sounds like the police are gonna finally nail this freak Kevin.
Colleen: Yeah, and then she'll be safe. Even if she hates us forever, at least we'll all be safe.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lily: I don't mean to blame you.
Dru: We blame ourselves, honey.
Neil: It tears me apart to think of this happening to my little girl. The way it happened, the implications...
Dru: No, Lily knows the risks. We talked about aids, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, and she assured me that she used protection. We're just gonna go to the doctor and get her tested just to be absolutely sure.
Neil: Lily, your mom is absolutely right. We have to take you to the doctor’s. We have to get you checked. We have to make sure that you're okay physically. Now emotionally and spiritually, these scars aren't so easy to see. My darling, I want you to realize that you have been used. This man Kevin has used you and abused you, which breaks my heart.
Lily: Dad, things happen to people, and they get through them.
Neil: Yes, they do. And you will get through this. But I'm not gonna lie to you that there will be some tough times ahead of you. There will be some very dark nights and days. But I'm telling you right now... that as a family, we will get through this together, you hear me?
Lily: I'm so sorry.
Neil: I'm sorry, too. I'm so sorry, more than you'll ever know.
Lily: Oh, God. You know what? I need some air. I'm gonna take a walk.
Neil: We're not through talking, Lily.
Lily: I know. I know. I just need some space.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bobby: No. No. No. You didn't just tell me that the cops have your computer.
Kevin: This detective, he had a warrant. What was I supposed to do?
Bobby: What do they want with your computer?
Kevin: I have no idea! It's a witch hunt, I'm telling you. This guy J.T. has had it in for me--
Bobby: No. No. I don't want you putting the blame on somebody else. 'Cause as far as I'm concerned, this is all you! Now tell me exactly what is on this computer.
Kevin: All my work files and your books are on there. But relax, everything's nice and legit.
Bobby: Oh, so I should be happy they're looking them over?
Kevin: No, but it's the same information that goes on your tax return every year.
Bobby: No, not exactly.
Kevin: Is there something about your books you're not telling me?
Bobby: See, there you go trying to point the finger somewhere else. You keep this up, I swear, I'm gonna lose my temper.
Kevin: Bobby, don't, okay?! Look, I'm on your side. I hate this! Listen, could you maybe call your lawyer? I mean, they could probably help me get my computer back.
Bobby: No. No. No. No. I'm staying miles away from this mess. You're on your own, and let me tell you something, Fisher. You better make this thing go away. Because if you don't, I promise you, I'll make you go away. You got that? (Door slams)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sharon: You know what? Forget it. It's probably nothing.
Phyllis: No. No. No. No. No. If you felt that, you wouldn't be here.
Sharon: All right, Phyllis, I'm worried. I just get the sense that there's big trouble brewing here. And it isn't just because the people here are under pressure or because Nicholas was against the Safra line. A lot of people are wondering why Safra's sales are doing so well. And Nicholas seems to think that his father did something dirty. I mean, is it just me? Or don't you get the sense lately that some big disaster is going to strike?
Phyllis: Sharon, don't get into this.
Sharon: Phyllis, I can tell by the way that you are reacting that you're just as concerned about this as I am, aren't you? That any moment now something really ugly could be staring us in the face.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victoria: I have always been proud to be your daughter.
Victor: Yet I know that your brother and you have often accused me of being too controlling and not letting you make your own decisions.
Victoria: Well, yes, you have treated us like children at times. And there have been moments where we don't see eye to eye, but I have never doubted your love for me.
Victor: You know that there's a reason that I've become the person I am.
Victoria: Are you talking about your childhood?
Victor: Yeah. We are all products of our environment, of our early childhood years, we really are. And I guess when all's been said and done, I just... I guess I didn't get the kind of protection and warmth that a child needs.
Victoria: I can't even imagine, all those years you spent in that orphanage...
Victor: Makes you grow up very fast. I was on my own when most other kids were still in school.
Victoria: Must have been very hard.
Victor: You know, you have nothing to compare it to. You just sort of think that's part of life. You go from one struggle to another.
Victoria: I know that's why you're so protective of your family, because nothing came easy to you.
Victor: You know that I have always wanted what is best for you and for Nicholas. I wanted to protect you, make you feel financially secure. I guess I haven't always been the best dad. But I think you also know that it isn't because I didn't care.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nick: So give me some advice, John. What do I do now?
Silva: (Sighs) Do you know how this bribery was accomplished?
Nick: The one I know about was cash, lots of it.
Silva: And the others?
Nick: I have to assume the same way, but I'm not certain.
Silva: All right. Obviously, you have a problem employee. Fire the idiot, that's the first thing.
Nick: It's easier said than done.
Silva: Nick, make it easy. This is like a finger with gangrene. You cut it off.
Nick: We talking jail time?
Silva: On the federal counts, you bet-- max, ten years per count. But as a practical matter, probably three years per count, and they could be served consecutively.
Nick: So five counts...
Silva: 15 years, minimum. And the judge has a lot of discretion. But listen, Nick, don't worry about this. Just fire the guy so it doesn't happen again. Then you've fulfilled your obligation to society. Now I assume you'll be discussing this with your father.
Nick: No. I want this to stay between us. We're gonna treat it as a personal matter. You send the bills to me at the house.
Silva: I do a lot of work for Newman Enterprises.
Nick: John, my father is going to find out about this in due time, but that's not gonna be until I'm ready for it to happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Olivia: I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, Jack. This break with reality that Ashley’s having, it could be permanent. Now it's my strong feeling that that's not the case. But there are people out there with the same situation for months and years, and no one does anything about it.
Jack: What, are you talking about people we see out in the streets?
Olivia: Unfortunately. There's no one that cares enough to get them treatment. Seems to be our priority as a society. But right now Ashley is at a critical juncture she could come back. She could go away. She could come back somewhat diminished.
Jack: But you are confident we can do something to help her?
Olivia: Definitely. I mean, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, but I don't want us to think the worst either. I mean, she's got this hospital and all the science, and, as Mr. Porter puts it, friends who care and want her to recover. That bodes well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victoria: Where is all this coming from?
Victor: I just know that I haven't always been what you and your brother needed. I wanted to spend more time with you, I really did, but I guess life interfered.
Victoria: You were busy building an empire.
Victor: Yeah, meanwhile I'm afraid I sometimes failed you as a father.
Victoria: No, I think Nicholas and I turned out just fine. And it is because of you that I am as motivated and as strong as I am.
Victor: You mean that?
Victoria: It doesn't mean you're off the hook for all those times you've driven me crazy, especially where men are concerned.
Victor: I could hardly hope for that, could I?
Victoria: But even at your most irritating, I know that you've always had my best interests at heart, and someday I'm gonna repay you for everything you've done for me.
Victor: How are you gonna repay me?
Victoria: I just think that sometimes people are too hard on you, which is why I'm going to spend more time looking out for you. I will protect you.
Victor: That's so sweet of you.
Victor: I didn't expect to hear that. You think I need protection or what?
Victoria: I think everyone needs allies. Everyone needs someone on their side.
Victoria: And as you've always said, it's a cold, cruel world out there. And I want you to know that no matter what, I will be there for you just like you've always been there for me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brad: Sweetheart, I hope you know how sorry I am. I wanted to make things better, and instead, I've only made them worse.
Brad: We've both made some terrible mistakes, Ash. And the thing about mistakes in life is sometimes, they cost you... and the price tag can be huge.
Brad: You made a mistake when you left the lodge and drove home to confront Victor. That truck smashed into you outta nowhere, and our lives were changed forever. You couldn't deal with that reality. So you created one of your own. You started carrying that blanket around... convinced yourself that little Robert was in there...
Brad: Alive, healthy, happy.
Brad: But, Ash, he wasn’t. He was only alive in your mind. So when I showed you the truth, when I took him away from you, I-I didn't think I was robbing you of anything. I thought I was making you whole... making you let go of a fantasy so we could get our real life back.
Brad: I'm sorry, Ash. You were dealt an agonizing dose of reality today. Our son is dead. You couldn't handle that reality, so you've created some sort of alternate universe...
Brad: And as long as you insist on living on there, you're lost to me, and you’re lost to our daughter. We can't go there with you, Ash. This place you are with Robert, it's the world of the dead, and we're in the world of the living. There's a whole life I want to share with you. I want that more than anything. But it's not up to me, baby, it's up to you. You can stay away, or you can come back.
Brad: I know I'm not talking to a brick wall. I know you can hear me. Please, Ash, give me some sign. Anything.
Brad: Just know how much I love you. My whole world revolves around you... and if I could bring you back, if I could do it, I would. But I can’t. It's in your hands. I don't know... maybe it's not fair of me to ask. Maybe you're happier living in this world you've created, clinging to our son who didn't make it.
Brad: But I need my wife back. I need you, Ash.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neil: I remember the day that we took this picture... right after Lily's christening. We had such hopes and dreams.
Dru: Honey, that doesn't mean that our hopes and dreams still can't come to fruition.
Neil: What was she thinking? How did this happen? A girl who had everything... and now she's lost so much.
Dru: Neil, that's just it, she didn't have everything. We thought she did, but she ended up being this alone, neglected little girl in a big, scary world.
Neil: So she turned to this dangerous man because we weren't there for her.
Neil: I-I don't get this.
Dru: Neil, she's gonna be okay, but we have to support her. And quite frankly, I think she's learned a lesson.
Neil: At what cost? Drucilla... I want this man to pay. These predators, who steal into our homes and into our lives in cyberspace, and they prey on these... on these innocent, alive little kids like Lily. And, you know, we hear all the ads. They--what do they say? They say, "talk-- talk to your kids." And we try... and sometimes-- sometimes, we don't know what to say. And sometimes, we don't know how to listen. And the kids are the ones who end up paying the price.
Neil: How do we catch these filthy bastards, and make them pay? I'm telling you right now that if I ever see that Kevin Fisher ever again, I will kill him. He is a dead man. How dare-- how dare he do this to my daughter!
Dru: No, Neil, where are you going? Neil! Neil.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin: Who does he think he is, coming to my home and making threats? I tell you, Bobby Marsino, one of these days, you are gonna push me too far. There's cops snooping around, those damn kids-- I've got to do something about those damn kids, get them out of my life. (Knock on door)
Kevin: Lily.
Lily: Hey, Kevin.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Kevin: Well, news flash, kid, you can't prove that we slept together. You can't prove a damn thing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neil: I'm telling you, if you don't go and arrest him and put him in jail, I can’t promise you that I'm not gonna walk outta here and kill him myself.
