Dru: Oh, my god. Take another sip for me.

Ashley: I'm fine. I'm fine.

Dru: Oh, stop waving me off. Why are you so stubborn? How am I supposed to help you? You wouldn't even let me call the ambulance.

Ashley: No.

Dru: Wouldn't let me call brad. I mean--

Ashley: Absolutely not.

Dru: Okay, look. This could be very serious. You are pregnant. How am I supposed to help you if you won't let me?

Ashley: I'm fine. I just need a minute, okay?

Dru: Are you dizzy, huh? Are you queasy? Do you want me to call--you know what? Who's your obstetrician? You leave me no choice. Okay, all right.

Ashley: What are you doing?

Dru: I'm calling your husband.

Ashley: No.

Dru: Oh, yes. He needs to know something's wrong.

Ashley: You put the phone down right now, dru. Right now.

Cassie: Flowers. Guess you're going all out, huh?

Sharon: Hi, sweetheart. I'm glad you finally came down. It's good to see you.

Cassie: I just came down to get a drink.

Sharon: Oh, okay. I'll get it for you. What do you want?

Cassie: That's fine. I'm not that thirsty anyway.

Sharon: Cassie. Are we gonna spend the whole summer like this?

Cassie: Like what?

Sharon: You know what I'm talking about. You've been hiding up in your room ever since your dad went there and talked to you.

Cassie: Yeah, dad told me. He's letting you come back.

Sharon: I gather you don't approve.

Cassie: Whatever. I mean, it's not my decision, it's dad'S. I think it's a stupid idea, but I'm not gonna fight it.

Sharon: Well, thank you for that.

Cassie: If you think staying here is gonna change things for you and me, don't get your hopes up.

Sharon: Well, just being here and having that contact with you, that's what's important to me. I don't have any expectations.

Cassie: Good. Then you won't be disappointed.

Nick: So you never did say-- how'd it go the other night?

Cody: What night?

Nick: Well, you took out my sister, right?

Cody: Oh, yeah, it was fun.

Nick: That's all you're gonna give me?

Cody: We had a good time. What?

Nick: I don't know. Is there some reason you don't want to talk about it?

Cody: Victoria's your sister, and you're my boss. It's a little weird, you know?

Nick: Look, code, you don't have to worry about me, man. I'm not some overprotective brother. Wewell, I can be, you know, only if I haveo be. You're a good guy. You'd be good for my sister.

Cody: Thanks.

Nick: So you guys gonna go out again, or what? (Laughs)

Neil: Yeah, joyce, can you have them sent to my office, please? No, I'll be there later. Thanks. Bye-bye.

Victoria: Hi.

Neil: Hey.

Victoria: Am i the last one here?

Neil: Except for our commander-in-chief.

Phyllis: Do you guys know why he called this meeting?

Victoria: Well, I have a feeling it has something to do with the damon porter situation.

Neil: I take it he filled you in on all the gory details. Here he is.

Victor: Glad you're all here.

Victoria: So what is this about?

Neil: Losing damon porter to jabot, I assume.

Phyllis: Losing?

Victor: We've had a little setback. We need to regroup.

Phyllis: Thanks to drucilla winters.

Victor: I just paid a visit at jabot, and I told them that what drucilla did was unethical and perhaps illegal.

Phyllis: That's right. Are we gonna haul their butts to court?

Victor: We have to reconcile to the fact that from now on, satine will move forward without porter, okay? I want you all to consider jabot cosmetics our enemy from this day forward. When the dust settles, only one of these cosmetic lines will survive, and as long as I'm in charge here, we will survive come hell or high water.

Cassie: I'm gonna go upstairs and read a book.

Noah: Daddadad, where are you?

Noah: Mommy, how come you're here?

Sharon: Well, actually, sweetie, it's because of you.

Cassie: Yeah, mom's staying here now. Dad said it's okay.

Noah: You are, for real?

Sharon: Yep, for real.

Sharon: (Laughs) oh, sweetie. Your dad and i didn't want to tell you until after school today since it was your last day.

Noah: Thank you, mommy. I'm so glad you're home. Isn't that great, cassie?

Cassie: Yeah. Just don't get your hopes up.

Noah: Why not? What do you mean?

Cassie: Who knows how long it'll last?

Sharon: I plan to be here, okay? For yoand your sister.

Cassie: Yeah, like I trust that.

Noah: What's wrong with cassie?

Sharon: Well... she's upset. She doesn't think that things can be the way they were before.

Noah: Can they?

Sharon: I don't know. I hope so.

Noah: Me too.

Sharon: So what about you? You sure came in the door all happy. What's going on?

Noah: I passed, mommy. I'm a first grader now.

Sharon: (Gasps) oh, my goodness. Look at that. I am so proud of you. Wow, a first grader.

Phyllis: Listen, victor, just telus what you want us to do. We're all in this together.

Victor: As each of us knows, there are conflicts of interest involving almost every person in this room, conflicts of interest that may lead some of you to the temptation of easing up on the competition.

Neil: Well, as far as drucilla's concerned, what she did, I can assure you, I promise you, it'll never haenen again.

Victor: It had better not, neil. Now I include myself in this warning. As you know, my wife is working for jabot, and she happens to be victoria's mother.

Victoria: Well, mom and i rarely talk shop.

Phyllis: As long as we keep our personal and business lives separate, we're fine.

Victor: And let me make one other thing very clear. From now on, there'll be no more leaks, no more talking out of school. I don't give a damn how innocuous it seems. If anyone in this room cannot live with these rules, then please speak up now.

Victor: All right. I want you to understand something.

Victor: This is becoming personal with me. We will squeeze jabot until we hear them cry for mercy. We will bury them if it's the last thing I do.

Dru: If something ever happened to you, and I didn't do something to prevent it, I'd never hear the end of it.

Ashley: Brad and I both know what the problem is.

Dru: Well, tell me what it is because you nearly hit the deck.

Ashley: I have an issue. It's just a little high blood pressure.

Dru: Ashley, there is nothing little about high blood pressure. My sister nearly died of it.

Ashley: I know. I--

Dru: Remember? She was out to there. The blood pressure shot up. We nearly lost nate--

Ashley: I've got it under control.

Dru: If you had it under control, you wouldn't be having these dizzy spells.

Ashley: I'm fine. I just needed to sit down.

Dru: No, you need to slow down.

Ashley: Dru, please.

Dru: You're always saying how smart you are, how you're running the show here. Well, at the end of the day, you are acting stupid, and if anyone should know the difference--

Ashley: You're notelling me anything I don't know, okay?

Dru: I'm sure the doctor is telling you, brad's telling you, you need to get out of this pressure cooker.

Ashley: I get the message.

Dru: I'm sure you hate me lecturing you, but contrary to popular belief, I don't want anything bad to happen to you, ashley. That's why it's perfect that damon porter go in--

Ashley: I am not gonna talk to you about damon porter right now.

Dru: Why not?

Ashley: Do you see how upset this makes me? If you honestly want to help, then just, please, shut up and stop lecturing me and stop threatening to tattle on me to my husband.

Dru: Listen, listen, listen. I am not promising not to tell brad anything.

Ashley: Damn it, drucilla.

Brad: Tell brad what?

Nick: So you gonna ask my sister out again, or what?

Cody: You cutright to the chase.

Nick: I'm just curious.

Cody: Yeah? She say something about me?

Nick: No. Why, do you want her to?

Cody: No. Your sister's pretty cool.

Nick: Doesn't answer my question, code.

Cody: Yeah, I want to see her again.

Nick: Sheeeeel the same way?

Cody: I think so.

Nick: So there was a spark?

Cody: It was only our first date, nick.

Nick: You can learn a lot from one evening together.

Cody: What do you want me to say? I mean, I like spendg time with her. If it turns into something, great, and if not, you know, at least we'll still be friends.

Nick: What'd you guys do?

Cody: Usual stuff-- movie, dinner, talked about our families.

Nick: She say anything about our dad?

Cody: Some. He wants to train you to take over the company.

Nick: Yeah, which she isn't too happy about.

Cody: Yeah, I got that impssssion.

Nick: I still don't know what my father was thiing.

Cody: Well, it sounds like an amazing opportunity.

Nick: Well, that's the way he packaged it, but see, the thing is, if my dad wants something, he just charges right ahead and doesn't care how it affects everyone else. (Telephone rings)

Cody: Excuse me. Crimson lights. Cody speaking.

Jack: I thought I might find you here.

Nick: Hey, jack. How's it going?

Jack: Got a few minutes? I'd like to talk to you about something.

Nick: Yeah. You want some coffee?

Jack: No, no, no, I'm fine. Thanks.

Nick: Sure.

Nick: So what's on your mind?

Jack: To tell you the truth, you.

Ashley: What are you doing here, honey?

Brad: Got your note. If I'd have known that "going out for a little while" meant you were heading back here, I would have come after you a lot sooner.

Dru: It's a good thing you got here when you did.

Ashley: That's enough.

Brad: Is that what it's been like, you two going at each other? I can see how upset you are, honey. All because dru here isn't satisfied with just being a royal pain in the neck. You have to deliberately goad my wife into jeopardizing her health?

Dru: Oh, just a minute. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Brad: No, you wait a minute. I am sick of your total insensitivity.

Dru: You know what? If it makes you feel better, run your mouth.

Brad: The only thing this makes me feel is angry.

Ashley: Brad, brad, it was my idea to meet her here and have it out with her, which we've done, and drucilla gets the picture, don't you, dru?

Michael: Ooh, whiskey straight up. Make it a double, please.

Michael: Well, well, well, if isn't genoa city's favorite tycoon.

Victor: Baldwin.

Victor: Why aren't you out fleecing some poor, unsuspecting husband?

Michael: Victor, victor, victor, please, surely you're not holding any hard feelings regarding diane jenkins, huh?

Victor: Listen to me, baldwin. Because of your legal finagling, I made diane jenkins a very wealthy woman.

Michael: Oh, come now. What you lost on the divorce is just a drop in the bucket for a man like you.

Victor: You're forgetting something though.

Michael: What's that?

Victor: I don't like to lose.

Michael: Hmm, neither do I.

Victor: From what I understand, you don't lose very often, do you?

Michael: No, not in court anyway.

Victor: You got personal problems, or what?

Michael: Yeah, massive personal problems, if you must know. ???ó7

Sharon: Noah, sweetie, why don't u u run upstairs and see how cassie's doing for me, okay? I want to talk to nikki.

Noah: Sure. Did you know I'm a first grader now?

Nikki: Well, that's great, honey. That's wonderful. I know your daddy will be very proud. Is he here?

Noah: I don't think so. Just mommy. I'll go check on cassie.

Sharon: Okay. There you go.

Nikki: He is beautiful, isn't he?

Sharon: He sure is.

Nikki: No thanks to you. So what's going on here? Did nicholas actually leave you here for an unsupervised visit?

Sharon: Do you have a problem with that?

Nikki: Yeah, I do. I have a huge problem with that.

Sharon: Well, I guess you better take that up with your son.

Nikki: Don't worry, I will. After everything you have put these kids through--

Sharon: All right, here we go. Self-righteous nikki about to run through the litany of my sins.

Nikki: You really don't give a damn, do you, about the devastation you brought to those children?

Sharon: Yes, I do give a damn. That is why I came back, so I can try to fix some of that devastation.

Jack: I ran into your mother. She told me about your father's offer.

Nick: Of course she did.

Jack: I understand you turned him down.

Nick: You're damn right I did.

Jack: You mind if I ask why?

Nick: Because I'm not gonna be bought by anyone, and that includes my father.Jack: Are you really that certain that's his only motivation?

Nick: Why else uld he be doing this now, especially now?

Jack: What does that mean?

Nick: It means I've got some serious issues with the way he's been running newman lately.

Jack: Now you're referring to satine?

Nick: I've been against that deal since day one. I made it very clear to him, and he didn't care. He went ahead with it anyway. He's just doing this to get back at you. That's what this is all about.

Jack: I've had my suspicions along that line also.

Nick: So you tell me, why would I want to be mentored by somebody who's willing to jeopardize his whole company because he's hell-bent on revenge?

Jack: Nicholas, I don't want to minimize what you're feeling, but I have to ask. Is it possible you are letting your anger cloud the issues?

Nick: Trust me when I say this. The further I stay away from my father right now, the better.

Jack: This isn't just about business, is it? This is also about sharon.

Dru: Yeah, I get the picture.

Brad: I don't know what all has been going on here. You have been through the ringer, haven't you?

Ashley: No, I'm fine.

Brad: You don't look fine. Was ash this pale when you got here?

Dru: Are you talking to me? You mean I can talk? I really couldn't say.

Brad: If you two are trying to hide something--

>>Shley: No, it's--honey. What's going on with damon porter? Has he signed a contract?

Brad: No, not yet. He's here, by the way.

Ashley: He's here?

Brad: Yeah. Back from atlanta, ready to go to work.

Ashley: On... the strength of what, a verbal agreement?

Brad: Apparently.

Ashley: Well, that's good. That means I could still veto him.

Dru: What?

Brad: Be quiet, you.

Dru: I--

Ashley: Wait. Look-- so where is he? I want to speak with him.

Dru: Perhaps now would be a good time to go home and get some rest instead of second-guessing jack.

Ashley: Perhaps now would be a good time for you and your mouth to call it a day. Unless, of course, you want me to call personnel again.

Dru: Suit yourself, mrs. Carlton. You take care. Good care.

Brad: Personnel?

Ashley: Yeah, you know, never mind. So where's porter?

Brad: Dru's right, you know, honey.

Ashley: I know, and I will. I want to go home, but first I want to talk to that man. Where is he?

Brad: Down in the lab, checking things out.

Ashley: A bit premature, dot you think?

Brad: I'll have him sent up right away. I want this over with, honey. I want to get you back home, sitting on the couch with your feet up.

Damon: Ms. Abbott. I'm damon porter, and what a pleasure it is to meet you at last.

Ashley: Hi. Thank you for getting here so quickly.

Damon: Of course, of course. Happy to be on board. I've been an admirer of your work for quite some time. I was just down in the lab.

Ashley: Yeah, I-I hea.

Damon: Yeah, I was getting a look at the "to-do" list on your desk, trying to get a gauge for what's highest priority, and--

Ashley: Excuse me a second. We've never met, we've never had one single conversation, and yet you were imymy lab looking through my very confidential and personal materials?

Damon: I was, uh, hired to fill a position, and I was gearing up to do that. I realize it's my first day, but I think--

Ashley: Yes, and it may be your last unless we get something straight.

Nikki: How dare you show your face here. How can you even look at your husband and your children after the way you abandoned them?

Sharon: I am here to help my family. I think I owe them that much.

Nikki: You think that's gonna help them, interfering in their lives again? The best thing you can do for this family is stay away.

Sharon: You're wrong. Cassie and noah need me.

Nikki: For what, to be devastated again the next time you elel the need to escape?

Sharon: No, I have learned from my mistakes. I will not be doing that again.

Nikki: Oh, I see. So that just makes everything okay. That erases all the damage that you did. Because of you, nicholas and his father are barely speaking, and because of you, my marriage to victor almost fell apart, and also because of you, your precious little girl...

Sharon: Go ahead. Say it, nikki. My little girl almost died.

Nikki: That's right. At least you admit it. So why don't you ask yourself, sharon, what does she need you here for?

Sharon: I think that she needs to come to terms with her feelings for me, whatever they are, and you saw how noah reacted to me.

Nikki: Oh, please. Noah is very young.

Sharon: Well, he still deserves to be with his mother, even if his mother has made some terrible mistakes.

Nikki: You know, what you don't seem to understand is that we were doingjust fine without you. The last thing we need is for you to worm your way back into this family and into my son's life.

Sharon: You must think that nicholas is vulnerable to me.

Nikki: I will admit that, at one time, he loved y v very much, yes, but you threw that away, didn't you?

Sharon: I never, never, stopped loving nicholas. I still love him now, in case you care, which I know that you don'T.

Nikki: Did you love him when you were having your little fling with the stable boy?

Sharon: Okay, you know what? That was a terrible mistake.

Nikki: Okay. So we've got two big mistakes. Now let's see, what about coming on to my husband? Would that be considered a mistake, too?

Sharon: Let me just say that victor has always been the one person in this family who has treated me with respect and with dignity.

Nikki: And look what it cost him. He will probably never have a relationship with his son again.

Sharon: And that really-- it really breaks my heart, nikki, honestly. I swear that I will do whatever I possibly can to get those two back on track again.

Nikki: You listen to me. The best thing you can do, if you care at all about helping this situation, is to crawl back under the rock you came from.

Jack: Nicholas, I know this is none of my business, but from what you've told me, it sounds like you blame your father for sharon taking off the way she did.

Nick: I did. I still do.

Jack: Do you want to talk about it?

Nick: Look, my father thinks that he can wave this carrot in front of my nose, and I'm gonna forget everything he's done. Well, that's not gonna happen.

Jack: This couldn't possibly be just a father wanting to pass something on to his son?

Nick: Victor newman doesn't have room in his life for a son.

Jack: Oh, come on. You don't mean that.

Nick: The hell I don'T. It took me a long time to realize it, but I finally do. I would never and will never treat noah the way he has treated me. He's held me back in so many ways. He doesn't want me to be successful on my own, and I'm sick of it.

Jack: And your turning down his offer is your way of sending him a message?

Nick: Trust me, jack, this is only the beginning.

Victor: So, baldwin, do these personal problems pertain to a woman?

Michael: Uh, unfortunately, I have reverted to type, and I'm sitting here drowning my sorrows.

Victor: Ah, don't tell me that you were cut loose. You, this honest and upstanding gentleman.

Michael: Whoever said honesty is the best policy with regards to females ought to be shot.

Victor: Now, now, now, that's a rather cynical attitude, don't you think?

Michael: I'm a rather cynical man just now.

Victor: So tell me, are you and christine williams still law partners?

Michael: Seems so.

Victor: Last time I think I saw you with her was at nikki and my wedding.

Michael: Oh, yeah, yeah. I had the joy of witnessing those festivities firsthand. Poor woman. Some people never learn. Look, you give my card to nikki just in case history repeats itself, and she sends you packing.

Victor: (Laughing)

Victor: Baldwin, you're still the impertinent S.O.B. We all so fondly remember, aren't you?

Michael: Thank you, sir, for the compliment.

Victor: (Laughs)

Michael: Oh, by the way, your company's in the news again. Something about your daughter's division in this bitter competition these days. A cosmetic line for women of color.

Victor: That's right. Except it won't be competition for long. We're gonna wipe them off the map, that's all.

Michael: Now that sounds like the victor newman the world has come to love.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

>>Icichael: So you're competing with jabot, correct?

Victor: You got that right.

Michael: Hmm, and then it stands to reason that you will use any tactics to smash them, blow them to smithereens, crush them in a vice.

Victor: Now, baldwin, you know very well that I don't do business with kid gloves. Do you have a problem with that? You, who are the embodiment of ethics?

Michael: Honestly? I've always secretly admired the way you operate.

Victor: Oh, yeah?

Michael: Yeah.

Victor: Oh.

Michael: Truth be told, I've bent a few rules on occasion myself.

Victor: Oh, I know you have. I only remember too well when you and jack abbott and brad carlton tried to steal my company out from under me.

Michael: Yeah. Good times. Good times.

Damon: Would you like to tell me what's on your mind?

Ashley: Sure. You were hired without my being consulted.

Damon: Well, I suspected as much. I guess I just assumed that--

Ashley: What, that I'd be on board once it was a fait accompli?

Damon: It was kind of presented to me that way, too.

Ashley: You know, the way this whole thing was handled, let's just say it didn't make me very happy...

Damon: I'm getting that.

Ashley: And I'm not certain I can live with it, frankly. If that's news to you, I'm very sorry.

Damon: Well, I'm not used to being jerked around. When someone named abbott with a C.E.O. Title tells me I'm in, I--

Ashley: Jack severely overstepped when he hired you without talking to me first.

Damon: Is he your brother?

Ashley: Yes.

Damon: Then why wouldn't i assume he'd be speaking for you? Or was this all nothing but one big snow job to keep me from signing with newman enterprises?

Ashley: You know, let me get something very clear, okay? Whatever agreement you think you've made, I'm in charge of r & d here. So any conclusions you've made about replacing me are highly speculative, and I would think you'd know that as an r & d person yourself.

Damon: I can understand why you'd be frustrated. However, I was given the impression that you were in need of someone to replace you and soon, and by the look of you, I--

Ashley: No, no, please, let's keep this discussion on you, mr. Porter.

Damon: You know what? The last thing I want is to be all up in the middle of somebody's big old internal power struggle. I don't need this. I thought y'all needed me. If that's a mistake, tell me now, and I'm on a plane back to atlanta. Just say the word, ms. Abbott. You don't want me here, I'm gone.

Damon: Fine. Good luck with tuvia. No hard feelings.

Ashley: Waia a second. I apologize. I didn't say we don't want you. I just don't know-- I'm not sure-- I'm not sure what role you'll play.

Damon: Well... why don't we discuss that?

Sharon: Well, I can't go along with you that the best thing I can do for my family is to just disappear again. I plan to stay right here.

Nikki: So you are really determined to be in genoa city.

Sharon: No, nikki, here in this house.

Nikki: What?

Sharon: Yeah, you misunderstood before. See, I'm not just visiting now. I'm staying here. I've moved back in.

Nikki: Oh, my god. I cannot believe this.

Sharon: Well, nicholas invited mlalast night. It's what noah wants.

Nikki: What does cassie want?

Sharon: As I said, she and I have some issues to resolve.

Nikki: Unbelievable. You have actually gotten your hooks back into nicholas already.

Sharon: Well, I am still his wife, nikki, and whatever happens, I am always going to be the mother of his children. You seem to forget that.

Nikki: How I wish I could.

Sharon: So let me give you a few new ususe rules. You don't come and go on a whim, you knock before entering, and you come when invited. This is my home, nikki, not yours.

Nikki: And nicholas is your husband, and noah and cassie are your children. I get the picture.

Sharon: See, you're either for us or you're against us, and we really don't need that kind of destructive force in our life right now. I'm sure nicholas would agree. Have I made myself clear?

Nikki: Crystal.

Ashley: Please, sit down. Look, mr. Porter, I've been the creative force behind jabot cosmetics. It's been my vision that b been the vision behind all of our products, which is why I'm highly uncomfortable when people who aren't in product development hire someone, anyone, no matter how fabulous their résumé may be.

Damon: Thank you for the compliment.

Ashley: Oh, please, we both know you're very capable that's not the issue. The issue is whether or not you can share my vision. Can you work with me hand in glove without altering that vision to the point where it's unacceptable to me?

Damon: Well, I'm nobody's yes man, ms. Abbott.

Ashley: And I did not say you are.

Damon: I have ideas, I have opinions, and I'm not afraid to hold forth with either. That's one of the reasons I left satine. Not everyone can handle the free flowing exchange of ideas, but to me, it's the only thing it can be about in a creative environment.

Ashley: I don't disagree with that.

Damon: And yet here you sit with a chip on your shoulder about whether or not I can share your vision. I, on the other hand, came in with the expectation I was about to get a "welcome aboard." I have got... zero invested here. I have a very pleasant life. I have no need to return to this realm. I'm open to having this discussion with you because this is jabot and because you are ashley abbott. I have followed your achievements my entire career. It would be an honor to work here alongside you, but only if my contribution were, well, appreciated. Otherwise, what's the point of getting up in theororning? Don't you agree, ms. Abbott?

Damon: Now would that be my "welcome aboard" or "don't let the door hit you in the boo on the way out"?

Ashley: The former, mr. Porter. Welcome to jabot.

Damon: I thank you, ms. Abbott. I look forward to our collaboration.

Ashley: As do I. It should be interesting, very interesting.

Michael: Sometimes I envy you business tycoons.

Victor: Do you?

Michael: Yeah 'cause in court there are limits to what an attorney can do, certain legalities that you can never get around. God knows, I try, but...

Victor: I bet you do.

Michael: But the business world, that's so deliciously cutthroat. Like this battle with you and jabot.

Victor: What about it?

Michael: Oh, just envious, that's all. Two giants of industry going head-to-head, must get the adrenaline flowing.

Victor: It's not a game, baldwin.

Michael: No, of course not, not with millions of dollars at stake, but that's what makes it so appealing-- the risk, the danger, the feeling you're walking a tightrope without a net.

Victor: You're serious. You really miss this, don't you?

Michael: I was just a minor player when was at jabot, but when I got a taste of what your world was like, it made me wonder if I was in the right business.

Victor: You don't mind using what some people would consider shady tactics, now would you? I guess that's why you're a lawyer.

Michael: People are so rough on lawyers these days.

Victor: I wonder why.

Michael: But one hires one to win. You can't have it both ways.

Victor: Mm-hmm. All right, baldwin, interesting chatting with you, but I've got to get going.

Michael: I'm sure our paths will cross again.

Victor: Maybe sooner than you think.

Jack: Wait, what does that mean?

Nick: Nothing. Don't worry about it.

Jack: Nick, you said turning down your father's offer was only the beginning. That had to mean something.

Nick: Look, jack, right now my priority is my kids. Once things settle down at home, then I'm gonna deal with my father. I don't know when, but I assure you, that day is coming.

Jack: Do you know what you're walking away from?

Nick: Yes, I do.

Jack: I have to wonr.R. The chance to run an international conglomerate like newman enterprises and all that goes with it? Nicholas, people work their whole lives to get opportunities like that. You're thumbing your nose at it.
