Nikki: Hi.

Victor: Hi to you, too.

Nikki: Oh, it's so nice waking up in your arms. I'm very lucky.

Victor: I'm the lucky one.

Nikki: I'm glad you feel that way.

Victor: Do you know how fortunate we are to share this love? If only our son, hmm?

Nikki: Don't talk about it. It's too upsetting.

Victor: This is heartbreaking. He and sharon had such promise.

Nikki: She obviously is not capable of living up to any kind commitment. I mean, all she does is think of herself. Unfortunately, nicholas and the kids are paying the price for it.

Nick: Hey, little man, your bagel's up here. Why don't you eat before you gotta take off, okay?

Noah: Okay.

Victoria: Do you want some juice?

Noah: Look, cassie's up.

Nick: Hey.

Victoria: How are you feeling?

Cassie: I'm fine.

Victoria: Good. Why don't we get you something to eat so we can get to school?

Cassie: Hey, dad.

Nick: Hey, come here. So were you able to get back to sleep?

Cassie: After the dream, you mean? Thanks for staying up with me.

Nick: Where else would I be? So before I left, I thought you drifted off again.

Cassie: I did.

Nick: But you couldn't stay asleep?

Cassie: Not really. It's weird. It's like, I wake up, and then I'm afraid to go back to sleep because of my dreams.

Brittany: Good morning.

Raul: Hey, good morning.

Brittany: How long have you been up?

Raul: A couple of hours.

Brittany: Do you have an early class?

Raul: No, no, I just couldn't sleep. I thought I'd get some reading done.

Brittany: I slept like a baby. The whole time I was gone I never had one good night's rest. I would just lie awake and stare at the ceiling. Now that I'm back, I feel so relaxed. Must be because I'm with you. Hey, are you okay?

Raul: Fine.

Brittany: Listen, I'm sorry I got home so late last night.

Raul: It's no problem.

Brittany: I just thought it would be good for me to get back to work. I feel guilty, you know? Everybody was covering for me when I was gone.

Raul: Nah, don't worry about th..

Brittany: Are you sure you're all right? You don't seem like yourself.

Raul: Actually, there's something I want to get off my chest.

Colleen: Hey, you.

J.T.: Oh, hey, colleen.

Colleen: Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. Hey, let's get a table.

J.T.: I take it you got my message.

Colleen: I'm here, aren't I?

J.T.: Well, I wasn't sure you'd want to meet this early.

Colleen: Are you kidding? I'd give up sleep to be with you anytime. So what's new?

J.T.: Nothing.

Colleen: Well, you looked pretty deep in thought when I walked in.

J.T.: Did I?

Colleen: Yeah, what were you thinking about?

J.T.: Well, you know, just stuff.

Colleen: Stuff. What kind of stuff?

J.T.: Hey, are you hungry? Do you want a muffin or something?

Colleen: Um, sure. I--

J.T.: All right, stay right here. I'll get it for you.

Colleen: Okay. (Door opens)

Anita: Lauren.

Lauren: Anita. What a surprise.

Anita: That's a lovely way to greet a customer.

Lauren: We don't open till 9.

Anitafifine. I'll come back then.

Lauren: I'm sure you will.

Anita: What is that supposed to mean?

Lauren: The merchandise here is hardly your style, but it seems you found something to your liking, haven't you, something that keeps you coming back?

Anita: Lauren, if you have something to say, just say it. I don't have time to play games this morning.

Lauren: You were hoping to find J.T. Here alone.

Anita: I don't know what's going on in that busy--

Lauren: I know what happened between the two of you. I know you seduced that boy, and I have never been more disgusted in my life. Cassie: Better every day, right, dad?

Nick: Yeah, you're doing great.

Miguel: That's wonderful news.

Victoria: You bet it is. It's the best.

Miguel: How about you, noah? You about ready?

Noah: Mm-hmm.

Nick: All right, you little knucklehead. You be good daday, and I'll see you later, okay?

Noah: Okay.

Miguel: Come on.

Victoria: See you later.

Noah: See ya.

Nick: So... hungry?

Cassie: Not really.

Nick: Look, it worries me, what you said earlier about being afraid to go to sleep. You really need your rest.

Cassie: I know. It's just-- I don't like what I see.

Nick: What do you see?

Cassie: Well, the bad dreams. I mean, they're always there. And then when I go to sleep, they come back.

Ashley: Yeah, keep putting in less stearate each time until the mixture starts to separate, and then up the concentration by 2 ccs per liter. Dad. Exactly. Let me know what kind of results you get, okay? We have to act really fast on this. Thanks. (Sighs)

John: Now, my beauty, no emulsion is worth overworking yourself.

Ashley: It's pretty important. It's the backbone of about a dozen different products, dad.

John: My daughter-- type "a" personality. You know, it's nice to see you out of the lab for a little while.

Ashley: Except for the telephone, my umbilical cord.

John: Speaking of which.

Ashley: Everything is great.

John: Really? Are you getting enough sleep like you're supposed to?

Ashley: Almost.

John: Yeah, and eating healthy and taking your prenatal vitamins?

Ashley: I'm being a very good girl, and how about you? Are you taking care?

John: Never felt better.

Ashley: Great. Well, now that all the health issues are out of the way, what else is going on?

John: You wouldn't believe it.

Ashley: Try me.

John: It's jill.

Ashley: What's going on?

John: Well, she's possibly getting herself into something that could really hurt her.

Frederick: No. Tomorrow will be fine. Yeah, right, thanks.

Jill: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Frederick: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on here. Wait a minute. What were you saying?

Jill: I was saying that you are the most wonderful man.

Frederick: Well, don't stop. I need to hear that sort of thing.

Jill: Okay, you're generous, and you're giving, and you're caring, and you're selfless.

Frederick: What did I do?

Jill: Oh, come on. Don't give me that. You know exactly what you did.

Frederick: Remind me, just so I can do it again.

Jill: Unh-unh. It was a one-time thing.

Frederick: Oh, your birth mother.

Jill: See? I knew you'd get it.

Frederick: Ah, so things are working out?

Jill: Oh, my god. Yes, I'm so happy. I mean, I didn't expect her to be perfect, and she's not perfect.

Frederick: Yeah, but she's answering all your questions?

Jill: All about myself, you mean, and why I am who I am? No, there are no big revelations in that direction. But I feel such an outpouring of affection for her. I really care about her, you know? I want her to be happy, to be well, to--

Frederick: To like you.

Jill: To like me. Is that awful?

Frederick: No, not at all. Does she?

Jill: I think she ds.S. I mean, she's getting over the shock of it still. And she's a bit of a loner. She's not really used to showing emotion.

Frederick: Really? That's one way she's definitely different than you.

Jill: I guess so. And there are other ways as well, which is why I say that there's no real discoveries for me in that, but at this point, I don't care. I'm just enjoying this feeling.

Frederick: Oh, jill, that's great. Charlotte ramsey, huh?

Jill: Yeah, yeah.

Frederick: All right, tell me more about her.

Jill: Okay, um, she's not well off. And she's a bit of a nomad. And she-- well, I already told you, has this little problem with alcohol.

Frederick: Yeah, is it really just a little problem?

Jill: She thinks it's a little problem.

Frederick: So are you surethat it's a problem? I mean, some people drink more than you or me, but they get away with it.

Jill: Yeah, maybe that's it. Yeah. Although she gets really, really out there. But she is a happy drunk.

Frederick: You're a happy daughter.

Jill: Thanks to you.

Frederick: Well...

Jill: "Well" what?

Frederick: Well, the hug was nice, but don't you think I deserve a little bit better reward?

Jill: Oh, yeah, I do. Yeah, dodo. This is no place for abandage...till now.

Brittany: Did I do something?

Raul: It's about the other day.

Brittany: Well, you're gonna have to give me a little bit more than that to go on.

Raul: When I asked you to marry me.

Brittany: Is there a reason why you're bringing this up again?

Raul: Yeah, I need to know how you feel about me, brittany.

Brittany: What do you mean?

Raul: Do you love me?

Brittany: Of course I do.

Raul: Enough to get married?

Brittany: Raul, I don't understand what you're asking. I thought we both agreed that we weren't ready for marriage. I mean, it was different when I thought I might be pregnant.

Raul: Different how? You were terrified of the idea.

Brittany: I wasn't terrified.

Raul: Well, you could have fooled me.

Brittany: Raul, listen to me. I know that you were really shaken up by the way I was acting, and I know that you had questions about me and our relationship, but I thought I reassured you.

Raul: Yeah, you did... sort of.

Brittany: Well, then I really don't understand where this is coming from. I mean, it's not like you wanna get married right away. Do you?

Raul: No, no, but I...

Brittany: Well, then what is it, raul? Please explain it to me.

Raul: Listen, while you were away, I had a lot of time to think about my future, our future, and I realized that whether you were pregnant or not, I was committed to you. And now I'm just starting to think that maybe we're not on the same page.

Brittany: Raul--

Raul: Brittany, please be honest with me. Are you ever gonna wanna get married? 'Cause if you're not, you gotta tell me. You have to tell me now.

Anita: I have no idea what you're talking--

Lauren: Oh, don't even try and deny it.

Anita: Why would J.T. Come to you of all people?

Lauren: He didn't come to me. The kid was in shock. It wasn't the first time, either.

Anita: What are you talking about?

Lauren: You're confiding in him. You're pouring out all your problems to a teenage boy, and that is revolting. I told him to stay as far away from you as possible, but when he walked in the other day all shaken up, I knew you had gotten your hooks into him.

Anita: How dare you speak to me that way. You think you know what went on between the two of us. You have no idea.

Lauren: Oh, I know all about women like you.

Anita: J.T. Is not some innocent that I've corrupted.

Lauren: Really? Why don't I paint a little picture for you? Bored lonely socialite who drove her husband away, seeks out teenage boy to salve her ego.

Anita: You know, you know nothing about me or my life.

Lauren: Oh, I know all I need to know, and just because you're in an empty, unfulfilling marriage--

Anita: That's enough!

Lauren: Does not give you the right to drag someone else into your mess.

Colleen: Guess what.

J.T.: What?

Colleen: I've been doing some research.

J.T.: For school?

Colleen: It's more fun than that.

J.T.: I didn't know research could be fun.

Colleen: Well, this kind is. Um, I want to get my learner's permit.

J.T.: And your dad said that's cool?

Colleen: Well, he doesn't exactly know.

J.T.: How do you plan to pull that off?

Colleen: I don't need his permission. See for yourself.

J.T.: "Wisconsin department of transportation."

Colleen: Yep. I checked it all out. All I have to do is be enrolled in a driver's ed. Program, which I already I in school, and I have to have an adult sign my application.

J.T.: That sounds easy enough.

Colleen: Assuming I can find someone to sponsor me.

J.T.: Why are you looking at me like that?

Colleen: Why do you think?

J.T.: Oh, come on, colleen. I can't do that.

Colleen: Oh, why not? Look, it's all right here. All you have to be is over 18 and with one of those-- what you call it? Non-probationary licenses. Sound like anyone you know?

J.T.: Are you seriously asking me to sign for your permit?

Colleen: I'll evelelet you teach me how to drive.

J.T.: You're not gonna be able to keep this a secret forever.

Colleen: I'm not planning to, just for right now. Please, J.T.

J.T.: All right, I'll do it.

Colleen: You will?

J.T.: Yeah, yeah, I should have my head examined, but, yeah, I'll do it.

Colleen: Oh, this is awesome! When can we start? Can we start right now?

J.T.: No, no, sorry. I gotta get over to the boutique. I'm opening today.

>>Ololleen: Oh, you're not gonna be by yourself, are you?

J.T.: Yeah, for a few hours.

Colleen: All right, you want some company?

J.T.: What about school?

Colleen: I have first period free.

J.T.: All right, yeah. Come on.

Colleen: Okay.

J.T.: I might put you to work, though.

Colleen: That's okay. I could use the money.

J.T.: Hey, who said anything about getting paid?

Colleen: What, you think I'm working for free?

J.T.: Yeah, I do.

Colleen: Unh-unh. I gotta save up for my set of wheels. Let's go. ú ú F ú @ @ÑÑdwy@çÑ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ Ñ

Nick: So how you doing over here, sweetheart?

Cassie: Okay.

Nick: You know, you look awfully tired.

Cassie: I'm gonna go back to bed.

Nick: All right. Hey, you k ow what? Why don't you go sleep in my bed?

Cassie: Really? You sure?

Nick: Yeah, it's real big and comfy.

Cassie: Okay, thanks.

Nick: So, um... I really need to go in to work for a little while today.

Victoria: I will be here with you, and then my mom's coming by.

Cassie: It's okay. Don't worry about me.

Nick: I always worry about you.

Cassie: I love you, dad.

Nick: I love you, too. I'll be back as soon as I can.

Cassie: Okay, have a good day at work.

Nick: Okay.

Nick: Man, she's such a little trouper.

Victoria: Nicholas, you're doing a wonderful job. Being a single parent is n easy, and you're handling things. You're taking control, and that's good.

Nick: I don't have much choice.

Victoria: I can tell you're still going through hell.

Nick: I'm not even thinking about me. I mean, I'm an adult. I can handle it.

Victoria: You know, your whole family is here to help in any way that we can.

Nick: The whole family? Look, don't start in on this I-need-to-let-dad-get-involved- stuff again.

Victoria: Would it really be such a bad idea?

Nick: I can't deal with him right now, so don't go there.

Victoria: For the kids. If not for yourself, then for the kids.

Nick: Look, I know you're working through your differences with dad. Well, I'm not there. And I dot know if it will ever be there.

Nikki: I've been noticing something.

Victor: What's that, my darling?

Nkiki: You seem less despondent lately.

Victor: That's because of you.

Nikki: It is?

Victor: Yeah. Do you know how much your love and support have meant to me? Hmm?

Nikki: I have to admit there were moments I didn't know if we would get back to this. I'm so glad we did.

Victor: I had my doubts as well.

Nikki: It's sharon. She has just been such an incredibly divisive--

Victor: Let's please not talk about her. It's too depressing, all right?

Nikki: I know. You're right. I'm happy to see that nicholas is starting to pull himself together.

Victor: You think he is?

Nikki: Well, I know he's still closed himself off to you.

Victor: He's either gonna get over that or he won't, you know?

Nikki: I know. You just seem less vulnerable to the situation.

Victor: Well, there's only so much a man can do.I've reached out to him every way I could, and I've tried to help him every way I could, and I'm not about to hamper myself any longer.

Nikki: You're certainly not saying you don't care.

Victor: Of course I care, but I have business to attend to. I gotta move on. Life goes on. That's all.

Nikki: Hmm.

Victor: What?

Nikki: I think I've seen that gleam in your eye before.

Victor: Oh, yeah?

Nikki: A hunter out for the kill.

Victor: You got that right. Something you and i haveo talk about. I don't want you to get caught in the crossfire. You're looking live at edmonton from our skytracker atop manulife place.Good afternoon. I'm lesley macdonald. Today's the day the jewish state honours the six million jews killed at the hands of the nazis. And elvis is back. The world champion makes a major announcement about his career in competitive figure skating. Plus...prepare to be bombarded. Now that the war is over in iraq, reality tv is all over the airwaves. We'll show you the latest ideas coming soon......on edmonton's global news at 5:30.

Ashley: That's unbelievable. Jill was adopted?

John: Yes. And this wanan that she's convinced is her birth mother just doesn't check out.

Ashley: As far as you can tell.

John: Well, yeah, I realize I'm going on incomplete information.

Ashley: Where did jill find this woman?

John: From an adoption search agency, and they're generally pretty darn reliable, but I just have a bad feeling.

Ashley: So katherine told you that she knew a charlotte ramsey here in genoa city who would be about the right age?

John: Yeah, and according to katherine, who was present at the time, charlotte ramsey got herself pregnant when she was very young and had a backlllley abortion.

Ashley: And she wasn't able to have children after that?

John: Yeah, yet here is this charlotte ramsey from genoa city who says that she gave her child up for adoption. It just doesn't hold up, you know? Something's not right.

Jill: We can't do this.

Frederick: What would your mother say?

Jill: I know what my mother would say. She'd say, "whoo, that frederick. He's a looker, and he's smart, and he's rich and move over, jill," is what she'd say.

Frederick: And you forgot to mention that frederick's married.

Jill: Are you, still?

Frederick: Barely. But there is some good news. Brittany's back.

Jill: What? Why didn't you tell me? You must be so relieved. So is she...

Frederick: No. No, she's not pregnant.

Jill: Well, thank god for that.

Frederick: Yeah.

Jill: But then I don't unrsrstand. Why did she leave?

Frederick: I'm really not sure, jill. I'm just so damn glad to have her back.

Jill: Yeah, you must be. So did brittany coming home improve matters with your wife?

Frederick: No, not like you'd think.

Jill: Mmm. So anita still refuses to believe that that night we spent together was just spent talking?

Frederick: Yeah.

Jill: Although I don't know that I wouldn't react the same way in her shoes.

Frederick: Yeah, I feel badly for her. Believing what she does, it must hurt.

Jill: Well, she has the option of taking her husband at his word.

Frederick: Yeah, but what she saw with her own eyes, the two of us coming downstairs from the lodge that morning, pretty hard to ignore.

Jill: Yeah. Oh, my god. I just realized. Anita wouldn't go to brittany with what she saw, would she? Oh, please, frederick, tell me she hasn't done that.

Lauren: Your behavior is so selfish and stupid. Did you ever think of how many other lives you could be ruining?

Anita: Where do you get off being all holier than thou? Are you telling me you've never acted on impulse when you've been in pain, not once?

Lauren: Look, I'm sure it smarted when you saw jill and your husband that morning.

Anita: You have no idea.

Lauren: So you recruited J.T. To pick up the pieces, a boy who's known your daughter since when, nursery school? I don't suppose while you were ripping off his clothes, you had little flashes of serving him milk and cookies?

Anita: Hmm. Let me tell you something. J.T. Hellstrom may be young, but he has shown more maturity and kindness than most people I've had to deal with lately, including you.

Lauren: Mmm. And how much maturity did it take to lash back at your husband with a teenage boy?

Ani: : What's really going on here, lauren? You starting to feel a little guilty about shipping off your own son years ago? Now you gotta find somebody else to mother?

Lauren: Don't you ever bring scotty into this.

Anita: Surprise you how much of your own dirty linen is public knowledge?

Lauren: Look, you're not gonna wiggle out of this. What you did to J.T. Is beyond reprehensible, and I'm warning you right now, stay the hell away from him! I'm C.C. Brittany: Raul, I really hate seeing youikike this. Don't ever doubt how happy you make me.

Raul: Why can't you answer my question?

Brittany: I'm trying to.

Raul: Brittany, I know you're not ready for marriage right now. Neither am I. But one day I'm gonna be ready, and when that day comes, I... I want it to be with you. And I just--I want to know if you feel the same way. Yes or no?

Brittany: (Sighs) I can't answer that.

Raul: I don't-- well, then that's a no. I mean, at least we've cleared that up.

Brittany: Raul, listen to me. You're asking me to predict the future. I can't do that. I don't know how I'm gonna feel in five years or in ten years. All I know is that right now I want to be with you. You're the only guy I want to be with. I'm sorry if that's not enough for you. I guess I'm just uncomfortable with marriage. I mean, the whole idea of it just totally freaks me out. But it's got nothing to do with you.

Raul: See, I... I don't get that. How can you separate the two of them? 'Cause I think of marriage, brittany, I think of you.

Brittany: I love that that's the way you feel about me. I guess it just memes down to the fact that we've had two totally different lives... with two different families. I mean, your parents have this totally strong and loving relationship. It's the perfect example of a marriage.

Raul: And you've never had that.

Brittany: Oh, please. My parents are two people who've drifted further and further apart as the years have gone on.

Brittany: (Sighs) there were fights and... sarcastic comments and... cold stares. But mostly there was silence.

Raul: Sweetie, hey, we would never be like your parents.

Brittany: I'm not saying that we would. But I can't forget what I lived with for 18 years. Do you know how many wallsI had to break through to make our relationship work? It took time, but I did it because I love you.

Raul: Well, maybe it's just gonna take you some more time to realize that marriage can be a wonderful thing.

Brittany: Well, one thing I do know... nothing could ever be as wonderful as being with you.

Victoria: Look, I don't want to pressure you.

Nick: Then don't pressure me. Here.

Victoria: What's this?

Nick: It's a mild sedative for cassie.

Victoria: She's taking drugs? Does this have to do with the nightmares?

Nick: She's just not sleeping. I gotta do something.

Victoria: I cannot believe she's taking sedatives.

Nick: It's just a little something to get over the hurdle.

Victoria: You hope?

Nick: Look, she sleeps best during the day, but she might wake up if she has another one of her dreams.

Victoria: All right. How many do I give her?

Nick: Just one.

Victoria: (Sighs) what are these nightmares about? Or do I even have to ask? They're about sharon, right?

Nick: Victoria--

Victoria: You know, this whole situation is just unbelievable to me. I mean, sharon abandons her children. This is the one person that cassie should be able to count on, and where is she? She just takes off. She writes some stupid letter. No personal contact, no phone calls--I mean, it's just unbelievable to me.

Nick: Stop getting yourself all worked up, all right? We've been there. It doesn't solve anything.

Victoria: So you're just accepting this?

Nick: I'm not accepting anything. Sharon's gone, and I don't know if she's coming back, and I don't know if I'm ever gonna see her again.

Victoria: Well, you know how I feel about it. I mean, especially now that you're getting your life together. Sasay good riddance. I hope she never comes back.

Nick: Look, I don't want to talk about sharon, and I don't want to think about her. That part of my life is over. Right now all that matters is my kids, and I gotta do what's best for them.

Victoria: Well, you're doing a wonderful job.

Nick: Thanks.

Victori l look, uh, you should go to work. I will stay until mom gets here.

Nick: All right. You know, you and mom-- I don't know what I'd do without you.

Victoria: Love you.

Nick: Love you. Thanks.

Nikki: So what are you trying to tell me?

Victor: What I'm trying to tell you is that there's a lot going on between our two companies, and I have a feeling you're aware of that.

Nikki: You're talking about our new cosmetics line.

Victor: Sweetheart, do I need to remind you that you have huhuge investment in jabot-- $35 million, if my memory serves me correctly. I don't want you to lose that.

Nikki: What do you mean?

Victor: Unbeknownst to you, jabot owes me a hell of a lot of money, and the balloon payment is due next month. And quite frankly, I'm worried about the company's solvency.

Nikki: No, you're not. You're worried about putting us out of business.

Victor: Darling, I'm warning you. You talk to jack abbott. He'll listen to you. Tell him to pull his damn line. Otherwise, he'll be in over his head. All right?

Nikki: Well, that's not the only way to keep jabot solvent. You know, you could back off on this balloon payment, and we would continue to make payments with interest, of course.

Victor: I'm telling you, I can't do that. It would be bad business. Now, sweetheart, I'm warning you, protect yourself, because left to his own devices, jack abbott will not do that.

Nikki: So you're throwing down the gauntlet, are you? I know how much competition turns you on.

Victor: Makes me feel alive.

Nikki: I can vouch for that.

Victor: (Chuckles) heed my advice, my darling. It will spare you a lot of grief.

Nikki: Now, darling, don't be overconfident. Life is full of surprises.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Victor: Don't you ever say that I didn't warn you.

Nikki: Okay. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Victor: So you did. Cscscscscscscscscscscscscscscscscscsñ ñ

John: I don't know. (Sighs)

Ashley: It's not the most unusual name. Couldn't there be two charlotte ramseys?

John: I suppose. But, honey, I knew the names of all the kids in my high school. I dated eileen ramsey. It was a much smaller town then. Highly unlikely there'd be two charlotte ramseys.

Aleley: Well, why doesn't jill have this woman checked out?

John: She sees no need to. She takes the woman at face value.

Ashley: Maybe you should remind her that we're trying to launch a new line.

John: Honey, it's not affecting her work.

Ashley: Well... well, it will. If this woman turns out to be a fraud, she'll be under this dark cloud of despair. No one will be able to talk to her. Dad?

John: You said "fraud."

Ashley: It's possible, isn't it? I mean, you said this could be a mistake, but it's not very likely. Kay's memory is fine. Your memory is fine. And if this woman is claiming to be jill's mother...

John: But, ash, remember something-- charlotte ramsey didn't come to jill. No, jill went to charlotte ramsey through an agency, which means her name would be on a birth certificate or some official document, and these people generally know what they're doing.

Ashley: Anyone can make a mistake.

John: (Sighs) and if it is a mistake, then this woman knows that she's not jill's mother.

Ashley: Yeah, and jill has a lot of money, which is why the term "fraud" came to mind. Cacan't wait for jack. Would you tell him that I'm in the lab?

John: Yeah.

Ashley: Thanks. I'll see you later.

John: (Sighs) ash? You think I owe it to jill to check this out?

Ashley: Well, if you feel you should. Don't expect any gratitude from her, though. She'll make sure your good deed doesn't go unpunished.

Brittany: So are we okay?

Raul: Yeah, we're more than okay.

Brittany: Well, good. Then I'm going to finish my coffee and get dressed.

Raul: Oh.

Brittany: Oh, um, before I forget, did something happen with my parents while I was gone?

Raul: Something like what?

Brittany: I'm not sure, but when he was leaving the boutique last night, J.T. Said, "sorry about your parents." What did he mean by that?

Raul: Beats me.

Brittany: Well, when was the last time you saw them?

Raul: Uh, at J.T.'S birthday party. I mean, they were stressed out. They were worried about you. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Brittany: Still seems like a strange thing for J.T. To say.

Raul: Oh, I'd let it go. You know J.T.--He's probably justlalaying with you.

Brittany: Maybe.

Anita: Warning me? Is that a threat?

Lauren: Call it a strong word of advice.

Anita: Ah. Somehow I don't recall asking for any.

Lauren: Don't you think you've done enough damage? You compounded your marital problems. You completely messed up J.T. If you stay away from him now, the kid has a chance of getting his life back together.

Anita: Mmm.

Lauren: But if you can't, if you keep hounding him for comfort or god forbid more, your secret's gonna come out. And I just wonder how you're going to feel when your husband or your daughter find out.

Anita: Don't you ever, ever, mention my family again. I will decide what they know and when they know it. Do you understand?

Lauren: I don't think you get it. Your family is going to find out.

Anita: Shut up. If you even think about sticking your nose in my personal business, I promise you, lauren--

J.T.: Hey, what's going on?
