Victor: Get her as close to the window as possible. There. She has some fresh air now. Sweetheart. What happened?

Nick: I don't know.

Mac: What did you just say?

Billy: You heard me.

Billy: I've never been more serious about anything in my life, mac.

Billy: Lo--loo--look, I know this is totally out of the blue. It is for me, too. If I'd have known I was gonna do this now, I would have been more prepared. I would have brought candles or flowers or something...

Dr. Thompson: Hi.

Ashley: So what's the word? Oh, I like that look.

Dr. Thompson: You're doing well, ashley.

Ashley: I could've told you that.

Dr. Thompson: You're feeling well, then?

Ashley: Yeah, I just have a couple questions, a couple of things people have mentioned to me.

Dr. Thompson: Let's have a seat. So what are these questions?

Ashley: Well, I was wondering if there's any kind of impact from the chemo on the baby, because I wasn't planning on getting pregnant this soon.

Dr. Thompson: Well, when we chose the type of chemo to treat your breast cancer, we purposely selected one that would be less likely to damage your ovaries. Obviously, we were successful since, well--here you are.

Ashley: Yeah, obviously. So there's no residual effects from the drugs?

Dr. Thompson: Several months have passed between your last chemo treatment and your pregnancy. I really feel there's very little cause for concern. Though there is one thing I'm a bit concerned about, and that we do need to discuss.

Dru: That's right. You heard me correctly. You're so worried about me spilling the company secrets, and it cou b be your own kin. Yes, "madame bovary," chief chemist of jabot cosmetics, in her lab at work, but not alone. No, she's with victor newman, of newman enterprises. They were alone together.

Jack: What the hell?

Brad: Newman was here in this building?

Dru: The one and only.

Jack: If you're doing this to take the focus off of you, dru, and put it on someone else--

Dru: Jack, I swear it's legitimate.

Brad: It's too damn convenient.

Dru: Oh, I know you hope I'm not telling the truth. Sorry. Call down to security. Even newman has to sign in.

Brad: What, are you saying this happened today?

Dru: I'm saying it happened before she left for the doctor.

Brad: How long before?

Dru: I'm not her secretary. She said she wasn't coming to this meeting.

Brad: Ashley and victor...

Jack: In our lab.

Dru: Yeah, where we're putting together all of our new research, all of our new formas for the new cosmetics line. Do you see why I get a little bit ticked off at being targeted as the security risk, while your wife is getting cozy with the competition?

Brad: Hey, you better watch it. Let me tell you--

John: Bradley, bradley, calm down. Now if ashley was with victor, I'm sure there's an explanation.

Jack: Dru, I hope you're leveling with us. You're not racking up any brownie points here.

Dru: Jack, after this meeting, I feel like I have nothing to lose. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut, but you all were relentless with the nitpicking, because I suggested hair products. Give me a break. Ioneering under ]

Brock: It sure was nice of esther to fix us this snack.

Jill: Oh, that little twit makes me so...

Brock: Yeah, jill, I can see that.

Jill: Do you know if anybody else had walked in that front door, I'D.. how long are you in town for?

Brock: I don't know. A few days. I missed all the excitement.

Jill: So much has been going on.

Brock: The duchess wrote me about liz, everything that's happened.

Jill: Oh, great. Why doesn't she just get dan rather on the horn and brdcdcast it to the whole world?

Brock: Jill, if you'd rather not discuss it--

Jill: Finding out that I was adopted at this late date is a very personal private thing, okay? I don't need your mother shooting her mouth off and judging me every chance she gets.

Brock: Judging you about what?

Jill: I found my birth mother. And katherine didn't think I-- never mind. Never mind what she thinks. Anyway, I met with her.

Brock: Already? When?

Jill: Last night at gina'S.

Brock: Oh, jill, it must have been pretty overwhelming. I mean, coming face-to-face like that.

Jill: Oh, are you kidding? I've been a wreck all day today. The last thing I need is people attacking me.

Brock: Who's been doing that?

Jill: Your mother.

Brock: Ohh.

Jill: And then I had this horrible scene with billy.

Brock: Over...?

Jill: Over mackenzie. Brock, when are those two kids gonna figure out that this is just not something that's meant to be?

Billy: Well?

Mac: I don't know what to say.

Billy: Pretty much only have two choices.

Mac: Married? Us?

Billy: I know we're young, and I know we're still in school, but so what? Does that mean we can't do it? I love you so much, mac.

Mac: I love you, too, billy.

Billy: So what's stopping us?

Mac: We haven't even talked about this.

Billy: Sure we have.

Mac: Yeah, in general terms, like someday way down the road, but never for real.

Billy: So let's talk about it for real.

Mac: Billy, does this have anything to do with before? What we were doing?

Billy: What were we doing?

Mac: Hello? Were you there? 'Cse I sure thought you were.

Billy: You mean kissing?

Mac: Yeah, we were all over each other. Things were getting pretty intense.

Billy: And you-- what, you think that--

Mac: Would it be so crazy if I did?

Billy: That I would ask you to marry me so we could have sex?

Mac: Billy, you can't be serious.

Billy: I am. I mean it. Let's get married.

Mac: Billy, have you thought this out? I mean, really thought it out?

Dru: You know, the irony of the whole thing is that it was ashley who put this whole spin on me not being trustworthy. Do you recall--

Brad: Well, she's got some pretty damn good cause to feel that way, doesn't she?

John: Bradley, bradley, there is no need to shout.

Brad: Excuse me, gentlemen, do you realize that we'd be putting this woman in a position to represent jabot in a thousand different ways? Now the fact is there is too much bad blood between dru and my wife for this to work, period.

Dru: You don't know what you're talking about.

Jack: You know, I want specifics here. What exactly are you accusing ashley of?

Dru: I'm not accusing her of anything specifically.

Brad: No, you just want us talking about her so we're not talking about you.

Dru: I'm going to tell you that your wife was in this building--jabot-- hangg around the lab with the very man who has intentions of burying us. Now you do whatever you want with that information, but don't sit there and act like it's not worth discussing.

Brad: Why don't you impress us with your investigative abilities, dru? What were they talking about?

Dru: Ask your wife.

Jack: You didn't hear anything that was compromising?

Dru: I was out of earshot.

Jack: Okay, my guess is newman muscled his way in and ashley wanted him out of there.

Dru: That's not the impression I got.

Brad: Of course not, then you'd have nothing to tattle about.

Dru: Oh, so first, I'm a spy, now I'm a tattletale. Do you think that's why I'm telling you this information, to get ashley in trouble?

John: Dru, we've always taken a dim view of office gossip around here.

Dru: John, with all due respect, don't you gentlemen see the conflict of interest here?

Brad: Who the hell do you think you are questioning my wife's loyalty?

Dru: I'm not saying that your wife is gonna take down jabot on purpose, but...

Brad: You better watch yourself, dru. This ain't a photo session. Now let me tell you something. If you think that victor could get anything out of ashley, you are crazy. She is way too smart for that.

Dru: Oh, and that is to say that I'm not. I'm gonna let neil just pick my brain every night over dinner.

Jack: You do have a tendency of engaging your tongue before your brain, dru.

Dru: Yes, well, maybe I was a bit aggressive over the hair piece, but I was simply trying to give this company a leg up on satine and newman enterprises.

Brad: Really?

Dru: Real--you know what? I didn't take this job to fail. I understand the magnitude of the opportunity. I want jabot cosmetics to succeed, and I want to see newman enterprises eat our dirt.

John: Now, drucilla, I have your research and marketing ideas. We will go over them with the board and we'll get back to you. But you're gonna have to excuse me now. I do have another meeting.

Dru: All right, john.

Dru: You know, gentlemen, I hope that you'll keep your promise. If ashley finds out that I've told you about victor newman, I don't ink I have to paint the rest of that picture.

Jack: I think we're finished for today, dru. I need to speak privately with brad.

Dru: About me?

Jack: We'll be in touch.

Dru: Meaning what?

Brad: Whatever you want it to mean.

Dru: I want this job from the bottom of my heart and soul. I want this job. Do not eliminate me because of this. Please.

Ashley: Just what is that you're worried about?

Dr. Thompson: Tell me a little about your life these days.

Ashley: Are you asking about brad?

Dr. Thompson: Of course. I'm curious about your marriage, sure.

Ashley: Okay, well, things are good.

Dr. Thompson: I'm glad.

Ashy:Y: Yeah, he's very excited about the baby.

Dr. Thompson: I know you are, too.

Ashley: Ecstatic.

Dr. Thompson: Is there anything particularly stressful?

Ashley: I've just come through a very difficult time. But, thank god, I think that's behind me. There's a few issues at work. Why are you asking me this?

Dr. Thompson: Your blood pressure's just a bit elevated.

Ashley: Really?

Dr. Thompson: I don't want you to overreact, but this is something that we need to keep an eye on, particularly if it continues.

Ashley: Of course.

Dr. Thompson: Anything that you can do to decrease stress in your life right now, I encourage you to do it.

Ashley: Okay, I understand.

Dr. Thompson: How many hours are you working?

Ashley: You know my job. It's not exactly 9 to 5.

Dr. Thompson: Any way you can ease up?

Ashley: No, the timing right now-- that would be impossible.

Dr. Thompson: Well, at least try to stay as calm as you can.

Ashley: So just don't let certain people or situations get to me?

Dr. Thompson: I think you're getting my point.

Ashley: Yes, I hear you loud and clear, and I promise I'll be a good girl.

Dr. Thompson: Look, I know your business can be very stressful.

Ashley: Yeah, you got that right.

Dr. Thompson: And I have some idea how much this baby means to you.

Ashley: I can't even convey to you how much it means to me to give brad this child.

Jack: You okay?

Brad: No, I'm not okay! Who the hell does newman think he is?

Jack: King of the free world, I guess.

Brad: Can you believe this guy? He just comes walking in here like he owns the joint!

Jack: I agree he has colossal arrogance, but we have to handle this by letting security keep him out. We don't want to dirty our hands in this.

Brad: Well, ashley didn't seem to have any problem with him dropping by, did she?

Jack: Brad, listen to me. Calm down. I will talk to ashley. I'll make sure she understands that trusting newman at this point in our history is like trusting a coiled snake.

Brad: It's bad enough that he's trying to one-up us on our new cosmetics line, but I swear to god if he tries to mess with my personal life again... damn it! Just when I thought I was finally rid of the bastard.

Victor: Kindly tell dr. Walker to call me as soon as he gets back to the office. Right. Thank you.

Victor: Sit down here, hmm? Right here. There we go.

Nick: Here's another blanket.

Nikki: Thanks.

Victoria: So what happened?

Nick: Dad and I were outside, and we heard this scream, and we came in and, uh, noah had matches, and the gas was on full blast.

Noah: I'm sorry, daddy. I didn't mean to cause any trouble.

Nick: It's okay, buddy. Come here.

Victor: Go to daddy.

Nick: Listen to me. I don't ever want you to do that again, okay?

Noah: Okay.

Nick: I'm serious. Never, ever again.

Nikki: Noah, you turned the gas on?

Noah: I thought I knew how.

Nikki: Sweetie, never do that again. Your daddy's right. I know it scared you. Thank god you screamed.

Jack: God, we're barely out of the starting gate with this new line, and already victor's an issue. This does not bode well, bradley.

Brad: Well, maybe now you'll believe me when I say that dru has got to go.

>>Jack: I was not too pleased with the way she ratted on ashley.

Brad: Jack, they're not even really working together yet. Imagine when dru is on board. I'm telling you, now is the time to get rid of her before she becomes an essential part of this organization.

Jack: Ashley

Brad: This isn't about pretending that everybody gets along. We have to really trust each other, jack.

Jack: Don't forget, we don't ve a lot of time here. Yes, we could hire another spokesperson. In the time it takes to hire her, to come up with a contract, to move her here from wherever, we've already lost six weeks. Besides, honestly, from my gut, I believe dru when she tells me that she's gonna come through for us.

Brad: Sucker.

Jack: Bradley, give her a chance. She's in the right place at the right time. I honestly think she's the right person for the job.

Brad: Did ash say anything to you about seeing victor?

Jack: Brad, don't even go there. Don'T.

Brad: You think he came here to spy on us?

Jack: Probably. He's already sunk a bundle on a competition he can't win fair and square.

Brad: Jack, ash knows better than to let newman in the lab.

Jack: Give ash a little faith here. I know she's been vulnerable to him in the past--

Brad: Oh, please, jack, I don't want to hear it, not now when ash and i are back on track. We have our baby on the way.

Jack: Hear me out. Don't make a big deal out of this. Dad is probably right-- there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for him being in the building. We'll see that security keeps him out next time. Don't let this power-hungry egomaniac get in your way. Try to remember your wife's condition.

Brad: Our baby.

Jack: Last thing she needs when she's pregnant is you jumping in her face about victor. You want me to talk to her first?

Brad: No. No, I'll handle it.

Jack: Okay, go easy. No going in there and pushing buttons. Try to remember one thing--

Brad: What?

Jack: Victor almost caused a divorce between you and ashley. Don't give him any power. Don't let him break up the solid thing that you have now. The only way he can hurt you is if you let him.

Brock: Jill, I wish you would spend less energy fighting this.

Jill: Are you telling me you approve of their living together?

Brock: No, no, no. I didn't say that.

Jill: Because your daughter and my son will never have my blessing.

Brock: Because you dislike mackenzie so much.

Jill: No, brock, they're 18 years old. They're starting college. I mean, they've got their whole lives ahead of them. They should be out there spreading their wings instead of being consumed by this relationship.

Brock: Jill, I agree. I don't believe they're ready for this. I wish they were taking things more slowly.

Jill: Yeah, well, you could wish all day long. It's not going to accomplish anything.

Brock: And conflict will?

Jill: No, b we have to stand our ground. I'm not backing down. I told billy I will never accept his involvement with the girl. What?

Brock: You never stopped to think of the effect it could have, being so vehemently opposed to the most important person in his life.

Jill: I just keep hoping that eventually he'll hear me.

Mac: For what?

Billy: For making me see how much you mean to me, that I'd do anything to be with you. Today it's like a light went off. It hit me that there's nothing that I want more than to be with you every day forever.

Mac: Billy, we can't really do this, can we? I mean, it's crazy. Think how people will react-- not just your mom, but my dad and my grandma.

Billy: Yeah, they'll be surprised.

Mac: Probably upset.

Billy: Yeah, maybe, just a little bit, but they'll get over it. Mac, you remember over the holidays when we told everybody we wanted to go to school here in genoa city? Everyone thought that we were gonna be throwing away all these great opportunities just so we could be togeth,, that we might not last. Well, this would be showing them how serious we are. Getting married, that's like the biggest commitment that two people can make. I'm sure I'm ready for it, mac. The only question is, are you? Ashley: Hey, you.

Brad: Hi.

Ashley: I'm surprised to see you here so early, not that I'm complaining. Where's abby?

Brad: She's upstairs napping. I sent frances home.

Ashley: Oh, good. Okay.

Brad: How was your appointment?

Ashley: Everything looks good.

Brad: I'm glad to hear that.

Ashley: Except for one problem. I missed you terribly.

Brad: You did, huh?

Ashley: Yeah, I know I'm the one that insisted that you go to that board meeting, but from now on when I schedule these checkups, we've got to clear the deck so we can go together.

Brad: Okay, sounds good to me.

Ashley: Sweetie, is is such a magical time for us, this pregnancy. I want to make sure that we can share every second of it.

Brad:Eah. Me too, honey.

Aleley: Mmm.

Brad: Okay, time to get you off your feet. I'm gonna wait on you.

Ashley: Thank you.

Ashley: You know, I have to admit, I'm not heartbroken about missing out on that board meeting.

Ashley: I can't stand the thought of having to sit there and listen to drucilla holding court. I'd much rather have you fill me in later--thank you-- if anything worthwhile came of it. Oh, there I go again, copping an attitude when I promised you that I was gonna give her a chance, and I heard every word that you said. I did. I'll do my best to be as civil as possible.

Brad: Actually, I wasn't thinking so much about what I said as what you didn't say.

Ashley: What do you mean?

Brad: Why didn't you tell me that you met with victor in the lab?

Noah: Daddy, can I sit by cassie?

Nick: Sure, buddy. (Cell phone rings)

Victor: Yes? What did they say?

Nikki: Baby, it couldn't have been cassie who screamed.

Noah: Yes, it was.

Nikki: But she can't talk.

Noah: I know, but she can scream.

Victoria: How is that possible?

Nikki: Look, I want you to understand we're not mad at you.

Victoria: No, we're not, but don't ever, ever touch that gas knob.

Nick: It did sound like cassie.

Victoria: Nicholas, what are you saying? How is that possible?

Nick: I don't know, okay? It's just... dad?

Victor: Yes, son?

Victor: It sounded like cassie, but how could it have been?

Nick: Noah, come here. Come here. Now listen to me. It's very important that you tell me the truth right now.

Noah: After I fed cassie the ice cream.

Nick: All right, noah. Listen to me. It's very important that you tell me the truth.

Victor: You fed her ice cream?

Jill: How is my being frank with billy going to drive him closer to mackenzie?

Brock: There is a difference between frank and dictatorial, jill.

Jill: Oh, please.

Brock: I'm sure he'd prefer that we'd all just get along, and that can't happen, hello, guess who he will choose.

Jill: Are you implying that my son would just cast me aside?

Brock: Well, do you really want to take that risk? You have been against this relationship from the beginning, jill. How much longer before billy gets tired of trying to win you over?

Jill: He did seem really, really determined. You should have enen his face.

Brock: Mm-hmm. Neither of us wants these kids getting in any further over their heads. Jill, you don't have to be happy-happy about their being together, but you have to stop alienating billy. Don't give him any more reason to want to defy you.

Jill: You think this could all backfire?

Brock: Given the hard line you took.

Billy: Well, what is it? What's keeping you from saying yes? What do you need to hear? Tell me.

Mac: I still don't understand. Why now?

Billylook, who cares? Some people spend half their lives trying to find the right person. Some of them don't ever find that one, but not us. You realize how incredibly lucky we are?

Mac: You're not afraid that if we do get married now, you're gonna regret it later?

Billy: What would I regret?

Mac: We're still teenagers. I mean, don't you want to see what else life has to offer? Don't you want to explore the world, experience new things?

Billy: Of course I do, but why would I want to do that alone, when I could share it with the person I love? Look, maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I've been thinking about my future a lot lately. And I have this picture in my mind of what it'll be like to start a new career or to buy a house or to have kids, and the thing is, you're always in that picture, too. I don't want to go through my life without you by my side, mac. You are everything to me. You're my heart. You're my soul. You're my life, and I've known it for a long time. Now I just want the whole world to know it, too.

Ashley: Who told you that I saw victor?

Brad: It doesn't matter who told me.

Ashley: Yes, it does matter. It was drucilla, wasn't it?

Brad: I repeat, ash, it doesn't matter.

Ashley: Obviously you're upset with me.

Brad: I have to assume the reason you didn't tell me is because you thought I'd freak out. True?

Ashley: I asked victor to come and see me, because I wanted him to know what he was in for if he went head-to-head with jabot.

Brad: You don't have to go on.

Ashley: You're not even gonna listen to my explanation?

Brad: I don't need to hear it. I trust you completely. End of story.

Ashley: So you're not gonna...

Brad: Yell at you? No. No, I'm not.

Ashley: Well, thank you. Will you just answer me one thing?

Brad: What?

Ashley: What all did drucilla say to you?

Brad: Ash, this has nothing--

Ashley: No, I want to know. I know she's the one that went to you.

Brad: This isn't about dru. It's about us. And by not being candid, you put me in a very difficult position with your brother.

Ashley: Jack knows about this, too?

Brad: Yes, jack knows about it, and so does your father.

Ashley: Oh, god.

Brad: This came out in the meeting. And the idea of victor being in the r&d lab did not sit too well.

Ashley: Oh, yeah. She is the most despicable person that I have ever known!

Brad: Honey, honey, you need to stay with the issue. Had I been forewarned, I could have defused the situation. I could have reassured everybody. Honey, we need to be open with each other. We need to communicate. We can talk about anything, including victor. Now listen, we found out the hard way what happens when we try to protect each other, when we keep secrets from each other. And I'm going to do my damnedest to make sure we don't get stuck in that trap again.

Ashley: How'd I get so lucky?

Mac: We should probably get that.

Billy: I'll get it. So let's see who's gonna be the first to hear about the big news.

Nick: Cassie, there are some things going on that I don't understand. I need you to help me out, okay? Now noah says you screamed. I didn't know you could do that, but he swears it's true. I want to believe him, 'cause you know what that would mean? That would mean that you saved your brother's life. Because if noah had struck that match, then he wouldn't be here with us and neither would you. We would have lost both of you. So if it was you who screamed, I pray that means that you're coming back to us. You don't know how much we missed you. There were times when I thought that you were slipping away, and I may never get to see you smile again or hear you laugh.

N nick: I wouldn't accept that. Now I believe that I was right. By you screaming and saving noah's life, you showed us. It's a sign.

Nick: Please, cassie. Please, come back to us. We're never giving up. We love you so much. I pray that you're hearing me.

Nikki: Cassie!
