Ashley: If you're here to read me the riot act, nikki, I'm really not up to it today.

 Nikki: You just don't have a clue, do you?

 Ashley: About?

 Nikki: The hell you have made of my life.

 Ashley: All I can tell you is that I'm very sorry.

 Nikki: You're sorry. You're sorry. You're still in love with my husband.

 Ashley: Please, look, obviously yorere feeling threatened.

 Nikki: He loves me. He will always love me.

 Ashley: Well, then there's no reason for you to feel insecure, is there?

 Nikki: You could've saved everyone a lot of misery, but you didn't, did you? Because you have your own agenda. You and I both know why you did what you did, and now everybody is suffering the consequences.

 Victor: Son, if you have a minute, I want you to...

 Victor: Ohh.

 Victoria: Nicholas, I-- (sighs)

 Victor: You need to see him, too?

 Victoria: Well, it's nothing that can't wait. So is that your badge of honor? You and diego are combat buddies now, huh?

 Victor: Diego and i are not buddies, I assure you.

 Victoria: Oh, come on. A big, macho bonding experience like the one you two share, that brings people closer together.

 Victor: I've a dreadful headache right now. I don't want to argue with you. But let me ask you something. Are you trying to permanently ruin your relationship with your father? Why the sarcasm?

 Victoria: Sorry. Just that, you know, you berate diego. You call him scum. But he's a lot more like you... than you think.

 Cody: Hi, sharon. What's going on?

 Sharon: Not much, cody.

 Cody: Ooh. Bad morning, huh?

 Sharon: Yeah. The worst.

 Cody: Well, is there anything I can do?

 Sharon: No. Unfortunately, there's nothing anyone can do. Not anymore. But thank you.

 Cody: Okay.

 Sharon: Hey, uh, can I borrow a magazine?

 David: Sure. Take your pick.

 Sharon: Okay. Well, let's see. What do you got?

 David: Well, let's see. Uh, "wonderful world of auto mechanics," or, uh, "pro wrestling mania"?

 Sharon: You getting back at me?

 David: No way. I learned a lot the other day.

 Sharon: Really?

 David: I'm definitely not a mama's boy. I'm also not a glutton for punishment. Maybe I should hit the highway.

 Sharon: You're concerned about my husband?

 David: Well, he didn't seem too happy to see me talking to you the other day.

 Sharon: Well, don't worry. He's not around.

 Nick: Cody, what's new?

 Cody: Uh, actually--

 Nick: You know what? Hold that thought. Do we have a vase?

 Cody: Yeah. I think we do.

 Nick: Cool, 'cause I need to get these in water before they go south and ruin my whole plan. So bring it back to the office, all right?

 Anita: Brittany have you lost your mind?

 Brittany: Of course that's how you'd see it, mother.

 Anita: Going to genoa city university and moving back in with raul? What are you trying to do, punish your father and me?

 Brittany: Unbelievable. It's always about the two of you.

 Frederick: Sweetheart, it's your future you're throwing away.

 Brittany: No, dad, it's your future-- the one you and mom keep shoving down my throat. Well, too bad. This is my life, and I'm gonna live it the way I want.

 Raul: Mom, dad, it's gonna be okay.

 Adela: You have a scholarship, raul, to o of the finest schools in the country.

 Vicente: You would throw it away... to be with that girl who hurt you?

 Raul: This is the right decision for me.

A adela: It's not a decision we can afford to--

 Raul: I'm not asking you for one cent, mom. I'm gonna make my own way. I mean, come on, dad, isn't that what growing up is all about?

 Adela: You have such a bright future, raul. Your father and i have been so proud. But if you go through with this...

 Mac: Dad, say something.

 Brock: Uh, mackenzie, uh... I wasn't thrilled with your decision to leave northwestern, attend school here.

 Mac: Now that I want to move in with billy.

 Brock: You assured me that you were gonna live here with the duchess. Suddenly you're sharing an apartment with a boyfriend.

 Mac: And our friends. Look, if you think I'm being pressured--

 Brock: Are you?

 Mac: No. Dad, I want to do this. I think it'll be really good for me.

 Brock: Mackenzie... I've always, always tried to support the choices you've made, you know? But lately...

 Mac: What?

 Brock: It disturbs me... the way your life revolves around billy abbott.

 Billy: Mom, before you blow another gasket--

 Jill: Save your breath, billy. There is no way in hell I'm gonna support this harebrained scheme of mackenzie'S.

 Billy: Wrong. It's my idea, so if you're gonna blame anyone, blame me.

 Jill: Oh, for heaven's sakes. I would have thought your time down in the swamps would have taught you something.

 Billy: It did. Made me appreciate how lucky I am, how much mac means to me. If you can't respect that, then we got nothing more to say to each other. 

 Brad: So I guess you know why I'm here.

 Colleen: Let me guess. To apologize?

 Brad: Yeah. I guess I'm getting pretty good at that, aren't I?

 Colleen: It's okay, dad. I understand.

 Brad: I'm not sure you do, sweetheart. So how's it going?

 Colleen: Fine.

 Brad: Yeah? Driving your gradadad crazy?

 Colleen: Not yet.

 Brad: How's school?

 Colleen: Oh, I don't know. I stopped going.

 Brad: What?

 Colleen: Got ya.

 Brad: Very cute. Very funny.

 Colleen: Look, if you're gonna get on my case about J.T...

 Brad: You know how I feel about that, sweetheart.

 Colleen: Yeah, but the 2-week cooling off period is over.

 Brad: Sweetheart, I don't want to talk about that. I just want to talk about you. I want you to know that just because you're not living with me at the moment, I'm always thinking about you. I haven't forgotten about you. I never could.

 Colleen: I know that, honest. Still, I'm worried.

 Brad: About?

 Colleen: You and ashley. You guys are having problems, aren't you?

 Ashley: Despite what you think, I did not deliberately set out to complicate your life.

 Nikki: You didn't think at all. You thought only of yourself. How am I supposed to deal with this, ashley? Victor has a daughter he is totally unaware of. Should I tell him?

 Ashley: Of course not. For god's sakes, no, nikki.

 Nikki: Well, that's very easy for you to say, because you don't have to live with the man. You don't have to look him in the eye and be aware that you are keeping somhihing so significant from him. How long do you expect me to keep this secret? Take it to my grave? Rob him of ever knowing the truth?

 Ashley: You know that if you do say anything to him, what you're doing?

 Nikki: Yeah. I do. I would be sabotaging my own marriage. Do you get that, ashley? Is it starting to sink in, what you have done, the hell that I am living with because of you? You and your obsessive need to have victor's child-- I don't understand how anybody could be so selfish. Did you even think about how many lives would be affected by this?

 Ashley: You were not a consideration then, nikki. He didn't have a wife then.

 Nikki: Oh, my god! What, did you think he was gonna remain single the rest of his life? Victor newman? Are you kidding me? If it hadn't have been me, it'd have been some other woman going through this nightmare. And believe me, that's precisely what this is. It is a nightmare that you have created.

 Cody: Here you go.

 Nick: Oh, thanks, bro.

 Cody: Hey, uh, there was some guy in here earlier looking for you. He had an envelope.

 Nick: An envelope, huh? Maybe I won a sweepstakes.

 Cody: I don't think so. It was from some--

 Nick: Hey, remind me not to leave here today without cuttin' the checks. It's payday, you know?

 Cody: Okay.

 Nick: As you can tell, I'm trying to patch things up with sharon tonight. Got the flowers, some jewelry, nice dinner. I know what you're thinking, man--"it's about time."

 Cody: Actually, you know what? No one's covering the counter. (Knock on door)

 Man: Nicholas newman?

 Nick: Yeah, that's me.

 Man: You're served.

 Nick: "Nick, let's not drag this out. My attorney's card is enclosed. Please call her. I want this over as soon as possible."

 Cody: I'm sorry, man.

 Nick: I can't believe it. I mean, I can't believe she did it. Sharon's been threatening, but to actually go and do it? And do it like this? It's like she's firing one of our suppliers.

 Cody: Hey, nick, man, it's just--they're papers. That's it. All right? Nothing seouous has happened yet. Not really.

 Nick: You really think it's not too late? That I still have a chance with sharon?

 David: Even if your hubby isn't around, I still think I should hit the highway.

 Sharon: David, wait. That's not necessary. Things are different now.

 David: What do you mean?

 Sharon: Nick and I... we're getting a divorce.

 Anita: You'll do whatever you want, will you?

 Brittany: I'm 18. I can live my own life.

 Anita: Hmm. We'll see how well you live on your own. Are you threatening to cut me off again, mother?

 Frederick: Brittany, look, your mother and I don't approve of this foolishness. You can't expect us to just endorse ..

 Anita: If you choose to do as you please... you'll pay for it where it hurts you theost-- in your pocketbook.

 Adela: But yo father and I... (sighs) we want so much more for you.

 Frederick: Your mother and I love you, raul. We will always be proud of you. But as your father, I worry that you're about to make a decision that you will regret the rest of your life.

 Brock: Mackenzie, I... I know you feel very deeply for billy.

 Mac: I love him, dad.

 Brock: He's a fine, upstanding young man.

 Mac: As long as I'm not living with him.

 Brock: This is not about billy, sweetheart. This is about you and the choices that you've been making recently.

 Brock: You always said you wanna take things slowly, hmm?

 Mac: You're talking about sex.

 Brock: Now you'll be sharing an apartment together?

 Mac: With separate bedrooms.

 Brock: I don't understand, mackenzie. Why would you put yourself in what could be a very difficult situation?

 Mac: Dad, it will never come to that. Okay? Billy and I have talked. He's totally cool with it.

 Brock: For now. I'm sorry, sweetheart. If you're here to ask for my approval, I can't give it to you.

 Jill: Don't you take that tone with me, young man.

 Billy: Mom, I don't want to argue.

 Jill: No. You just want me to turn a blind eye to this lunacy.

 Billy: I want you to support me. I want you to be happy for me for a change.

 Jill: Billy, I can't! I can't when I see the kind of effect mackenzie has on you.

 Billy: Will you stop?! I'm sick of you constantly trashing mac! She is my girlfriend, mom. I love her.

 Jill: In other words, you're determined to go through with this.

 Billy: That's right. Nothing you do or say is gonna make me change my mind.

 Jill: Really? Well, how about your father, billy? Have you told him yet?

 Billy: Not yet.

 Jill: Well, then you better prepare yourself, because I'm sure he's gonna hit the ceiling, too.

 Billy: Yeah, well, I hope not. But if he does, I'll handle it.

 Jill: I'm warning you. If you insist on flushing your future down the drain, you are on your own. Do you understand? I am not giving you one single cent. And I'm quite certain that your father will cut you off, too. How are you gonna deal with that?

 Victor: Now you're comparing your wayward boyfriend with me?

 Victoria: You know, when I heard about his idiotic plan to go after those people who attacked him and stole your money, I mean, I couldn't believe it.

 Victor: That was very foolish. If he hadn't come to me, he would've been dead by now.

 Victoria: Well, he was only doing it to prove that he was just as tough as you are. You know, he wanted to look good in your eyes.

 Victor: If that was his intent, then he failed.

 Victoria: You went along with it.

 Victor: Victoria, instead of wasting all this time thinking about diego guittierez, why don't you devote some time to your brother and his wife?

 Victoria: Great. You're blaming me for their problems now?

 Victor: Well, you certainly contributed to tensions in their marriage, didn't you?

 Victoria: Oh, why, because of diego and his evil influence?

 Victor: Your brother is not thinking straight. He needs all the help he can get.

 Victoria: Is that what you're giving him?

 Victor: Do you realize that sharon is filing for divorce?

 Victoria: Maybe it's for the best.

 Victor: What do you mean, "maybe it's for the best?" How can you say that?

 Victoria: They're miserable.

 Victor: Have you thought of the effect this will have on two innocent children?

 Victoria: You know what? At a certain point, there's nothing more we can do for them. Is it healthy for those kids to be living in limbo? I mean, you of all people should know that marriages don't always last.

 Victor: What happened to you? How can you be so cavalier? Victoria: Maybe it's the only way I can survive these days.

 Victor: Don't you realize now that all this started when diego guittierez entered our lives?

 Victoria: You know what? It started a long time before that. I don't want to listen to this anymore.

 Victor: Stop it! Will you stop burying your head in the sand?!

 Victoria: I'm not. I'm not.

 Victor: What happened to us? What do you mean you're not? What does that mean?

 Victoria: I'm seeing things a lot differently these days.

 Victor: What, in regard to diego guittierez, or what?

 Victoria: You know, things were going so well for the first time in so long. And then I realized that I... didn't really know this person. Maybe I never did. And I'm sure all this makes you so happy. 

 Colleen: Sorry, dad. I didn't mean to pry.

 Brad: You're not prying, honey.

 Colleen: It's just you're obviously not yourself. And since I'm living with granddad...

 Brad: You're right. Ash and I are having some trol le.

 Colleen: Hmm. It is serious?

 Brad: You wouldn't be living here if it weren'T.

 Colleen: Is there anything I can do to help?

 Brad: I wish there were, baby.

 Colleen: You know, at least you have abby. I mean, she's so cute. I bet she always puts a smile on your face.

 Brad: Listen. You know what? I-I don't want you worrying about me. You have enough to deal with.

 Colleen: But, dad--

 Brad: That's an order. I'm sorry, honey. I wish my problems didn't have to affect you.

 Colleen: Hey, it's okay. I can handle it. Besides, what you said about me, same goes for you. I don't want you worrying about me, either.

 Brad: Hmm. No, see, that's my job. I'm your daddy.

 Colleen: So now what?

 Brad: Now, uh, you go to school.

 Colleen: Oh. I almost forgot.

 Brad: And I have to go speak with ash.

 Colleen: Hey, that's good, isn't it? At least you guys are talking.

 Brad: I can't answer that. Just know how much I love you... how very proud I am to have you as my daughter. Come here.

 Ashley: Nikki, I truly am sorry. But there's no rsoson fovictor to ever know, because brad is abby's father. He adores her, and she adores him.

 Nikki: Victor's blood is running through her veins.

 Ashley: So what? You're a mother, and you know what it really means to be a parent. Brad has been there for abby since the day she was born.

 Nikki: Oh, isn't that nice? The three of you, just a perfect little family.

 Ashley: Actually, things were pretty perfect.

 Nikki: Yeah, until your dirty secret came out.

 Ashley: You want to vent? I don't blame you. But it's not gonna solve anything, nikki.

 Nikki: Don't you think I know that? I am trapped, ashley. Everywhere I turn, there you are,you and your filthy little secret. You played god with all of our lives. And you know who's gonna be hurt the most? You know who is going to suffer the most? Your daughter. God help that innocent child.

 Ashley: Nikki... are you gonna tell him?

 Nikki: Stay away from my husband. (Door slams)

 Ashley: (Groans)

 Nick: Cody, you heard what sharon said. She wants to get this over with A.S.A.P.

 Nick: Should've made a move sooner.

 Cody: Look, I ululdn't give up, nick.

 Nick: Yeah. You're right. You know, she's hurt, and she's confused. All I gotta do is talk to her and let her know what a mistake this would be... not just for us, for the kids, too.

 Cody: Yeah. Yeah. I hear you, man. But I gotta goutut and cover the counter, okay?

 Nick: Hey, cod'. Thanks.

 Cody: Yeah.

 David: Sharon, I'm sorry.

 Sharon: Yeah, me too. Thanks.

 David: I take it things have been--

 Sharon: You know what? If you don't mind, I'd rather not talk about it.

 David: Sure. Whatever.

 Cody: Oh, sharon. Nick's in the office. He's looking for you.

 David: Well, that's my cue.

 Sharon: David, don'T. It's okay.

 David: Look, you guys are going through something heavy right now. I don't want to make things worse.

 Sharon: You're not. I refuse to let him run you off again.

 Nick: Hey, cod', I'm gonna take off, so you... 

 Mac: Hey, guys. Sorry I took so long. Not that it helped.

 Raul: So I take it we're all in the same boat?

 Brittany: More like a sinking ship.

 Billy: Your parents have a cow, too?

 Brittany: Completely cut me off.

 Billy: So money's a bit tight.

 Brittany: What money? We're broke.

 Billy: For the time being.

 Brittany: You plan on winning the lottery?

 Raul: All right, listen, guys, we could all get jobs.

 Mac: Unless that's beneath you, brittany.

 Brittany: Look, if this is the way it's gonna be, I don't--

 Billy: Come on, guys, cool it. Okay, so things are a little more complicated than we expected. We stood up for what we wanted. That's what's important, right? It's what matters. Right? Oh, man. Don't tell me you're bailing. (Door shuts)

 Ashley: Hi.

 Brad: Hi.

 Ashley: You're home.

 Brad: I'm here to see my daughter.

 Ashley: She just woke up from her nap. I'm just giving her a little time. You know how cranky she gets if we get her too soon.

 Brad: You're not wearing your wig.

 Ashley: No.

 Brad: That's your real hair?

 Ashley: Uh, yeah, all 2 inches of it.

 Brad: Wow.

 Ashley: Uh, would you like some coffee or something?

 Brad: No, thanks.

 Ashley: I was kind of hoping I'd hear from you yesterday, at least a phone call--

 Brad: I wasn't in the mood.

 Ashley: Okay. Not even to wish abby good night?

 Brad: Do me a favor, ash. Just don't start, all right?

 Ashley: All I'm saying--

 Brad: I know what you're saying.

 Ashley: If we don't communicate...

 Brad: I'm here for one reason and one reason only. Are you gonna get abby or am I?

 David: Don't worry. Your husband's not running me off.

 Sharon: Just don't wanna take any chances?

 David: Tomorrow's another day. Besides, g gotta catch up on my glamour dos and don'ts.

 Nick: What the hell's going on here? What's going on?

 Sharon: Nick, for god's sake, what is your problem?

 Nick: What's my problem?

 David: It's not what you're thinking, pal.

 Nick: Hey, shut up before I shut your mouth for you.

 Sharon: Nick, calm down. You are way off base.

 Nick: Am I? I wa o over here and find you holding hands with this loser?

 Sharon: What? I wasn't holding his hands. I was talking to the guy.

 Nick: You know what? Enough! I'm sick and tired of your lies.

 David: Whoa, buddy.

 Nick: I thought I told you to shut up!

 Sharon: Have you lost your mind? Keep your hands off him.

 Nick: You know what? You get out now before I throw you out.

 Sharon: All right, you know what? Just go, okay? Obviously, my husband is totally irrational.

 Nick: Beat it.

 Sharon: You are way out of line, nick.

 Nick: Am I? The ink is not even dry on our divorce papers, and you're over here hitting on guys.

 Victor: How can you use this tone with me? I'm your father.

 Victoria: That's what makes th s so sad. The whole world looks up to you. The great victor newman-- I used to look up to you, but time and time again, you have ruined what little happiness I've been able to find.

 Victor: You don't think this has anything to do with that opportunist diego?

 Victoria: He's not an opportunist! He's a stubborn, pigheaded fool just like you, but he is not an opportunist!

 Victor: How dare you compare that immature little boy with your father. He's trying to prove that he's a man.

 Victoria: Well, he's got a good role model, because you're a man, all right. I mean, you're rich and you're powerful and you're famous, but where it really counts-- where it really matters-- you're a failure, and you know it. Look at mother. She's miserable. Nicholas resents you. I can barely stand to be in the same room with you, so congratulations, dad. Look around. This is the life you've created for yourself. Congratulations. I hope you're satisfied.

 Ashley: There's daddy. You see daddy? There's daddy. Say hi to daddy.

 Brad: Come here, sweetheart. Hi. I've missed you.

 Abby: (Babbling) fire! Fire!

 Brad: Yes, you see the fire?

 Abby: This is a fire. This is a fire.

 Brad: Yeah, you know not to touch that, right? That's hot.

 Ashley: She missed you, too, brad. Brad: Hi, baby. Did you have a good nap? Did you have a good nap? Hmm? What you got there, apple juice? You know what? Come here. You wanna play with your bear for a minute while I talk to your mommy? You wanna play with that bear for a minute? There you go. There you go.

 Ashley: She is your daughter, brad. Don't ever forget that.

 Brad: She's victor's daughter, too.

 Ashley: No, she isn'T. She's yours. She's all yours.

 Brad: I have some questions.

 Ashley: Go ahead.

 Brad: Newman.

 Ashley: What about him?

 Brad: You said he knew nothing about this. It was all your own doing.

 Ashley: It's the truth, I swear to you.

 Brad: The truth? I wonder if you know what that means anymore.

 Ashley: Are you just gonna be cruel?

 Brad: Cruel? Are you kidding me? You turned my life upside down.

 Ashley: It doesn't have to be that way, brad.

 Brad: When I think of all the times newman butted into our lives this summer...

 Ashley: I was fighting cancer.

 Brad: All the times I asked you to keep your distance from him, but you kept seeing him, didn't you? How about that horrible argument we had? Do you remember that, ash? When you lashed out and accused me of not being as supportive as newman-- me, your own husband.

 Ashley: Do we have to go through that again? I've already told you how much I regretted ever saying those things to yo

 Brad: Yeah, but you did say it, didn't you? You know, it's all beginning to make sense. You wanted newman in your life.

 Ashley: That's not true. You're the only man I want in my life.

 Brad: Why do you suppose that was, huh? Think that maybe, just maybe you were trying to encourage a bond between victor and abby? Would it be unreasonable for me to assume that's what you were doing?

 Ashley: Brad, I was fighting for my life. I had breast cancer. I needed all the support that I could get.

 Brad: You swore to me. You swore to me that abby's biological father would never be a factor in our lives, never.

 Ashley: I still want that.

 Brad: Oh, come on. Newman's been a factor in our lives from day one. He's been smack dab in the middle of our lives. You lied to me. You flat out lied, and don't give me that garbage about support. You had me. You had your family. You had your friends. Newman didn't need to be hanging around here, ash. But you encouraged him every chance you got. Every single chance. And you wonder why I have a problem getting past this. You wonder why I question what your feelings for newman really are?

 Mac: Thank you.

 Billy: So our folks won't support us. If we stick together on this, we'll find a way to make it work.

 Brittany: Relax, billy. Nobody's talking about bailing.

 Raul: Yeah, bro, things are just gonna be a little more complicated, that's it.

 Billy: You mean it?

 Raul: Crazy idea like yours? No one's gonna pass that up.

 Billy: How about you, mac? Still in?

 Mac: Yeah, I'm in.

 Raul: What are you grinning for?

 Billy: We're gonna do it. It's finally gonna happen.

 Brittany: Great. All four of us living in a cardboard box.

 Mac: So we need money. We'll get jobs. I could go back to the coffeehouse.

 Raul: Oh, will you put in a good word for us?

 Brittany: Oh, like they'd hire all of us.

 Billy: There's always wilkinson's deli.

 Brittany: How are we supposed to pay for college and put a roof over our heads on minimum wage?

 Lauren: Well, this must be my lucky day.

 Raul: Hey.

 Billy: Hey, lauren. What's up?

 Lauren: I was just thinking about you guys.

 Brittany: Yeah? Why?

 Lauren: Because it looks like I'm gonna take over the glow by jabot boutique.

 Mac: Fenmore's?

 Lauren: Ah, sort of. I'm gonna partner jabot, still sell their cosmetics. I'm gonna tweak the concept a little bit.

 Billy: How?

 Lauren: I am gonna sell young hip fashions for young hip people like you guys, and who better to run it but the glow by jabot gang?

 Raul: Wait a minute, okay? Are you talking about jobs here? Like good jobs?

 Lauren: Well, yeah! That is, if you are gonna be in town. Are any of you gonna be in town?

 Brittany: Yeah, we'll all be here.

 Mac: We're all going to G.C.U.

 Billy: But we're in serious need of some work.

 Lauren: Well, theitit looks like your guardian angel has arrived. 

 Sharon: You are such a hypocrite. I slept with diego once, and you shacked up with grace turner how many times?

 Nick: That's ancient history, sharon. See, you've already moved on to the next guy.

 Sharon: This has nothing to do with david.

 Nick: Oh, david? That's his name? No wonder you were so quick to shove that divorce down my throat.

 Sharon: You know damn well why I want a divorce. 'Cause I'm sick of watching our children suffer while you sit around deciding whether or not you're gonna forgive me.

 Nick: Yeah, and you've already moved on to the next guy.

 Sharon: You are obsessed!

 Nick: Yeah, you're right, I am, because I can't get it out of my head.
