Reverend:  Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to unite this couple in holy matrimony.

Victor: Wasn't that incredible?

Man: You like it?

Man: How are things these days, Victor? You recognize this?

Cassie: What did he say?

Victor: You think I don't know what he said. It's from the Christmas story about the shepherd and the star.

Man: They saw the star.

Cassie: And they went to the manger?

Man: Right. That's very good.

Victor: Then he saw the star and there was much joy.

Man: Not rusted at all.

Victor: Are you impressed? I certainly hope so.

Nicholas: What about what we bought for --

Man: I hid them.

Victor: It's time to bring them out, son.

Mary: Normally, I'm good at recognizing this but it makes no sense. I must be wrong.

Paul: About what?

Mary: Isabella. Is it possible she could be pregnant?

Paul: Pregnant?

Mary: Well, I don't know. I can usually tell. If I'm right, she's not that far along. Maybe I’m just imagining things.

Lauren: Mass is about to start and we saved you both seats. What's going on?

Mary: I was just saying it looks as if Isabella might be expecting.

Lauren: What?

Mary: I must be mistaken. For her to have gotten involved with someone so quickly. Just -- maybe we should go in.

Paul: Go on ahead. I want to have a word with her.

Olivia: Come on in. Nate and I were finishing wrapping up our Christmas gifts. Aren't you picking him up tomorrow morning?

Victor: Why don't you let me do that for a second?

Noah: Merry Christmas.

Man: Thanks.

Cassie: We have more gifts at the back of the plane we will be leaving with you. Right, Victor?

Victor: That's right.

Cassie: Daddy, can I help unload them?

Nicholas: Yeah. Let's go get them.

Victor: Thank you. Merry Christmas.

Victoria: Merry Christmas. Leave it to the children to let us know what it's really about. Want a drink?

Sharon: Sure.

Paul: Do you mind? Isabella, don't go in yet.

Isabella: Why?

Paul: There's something I need to know.

Isabella: Seems to me last time we talked it was pretty clear we had nothing more to say to each other.

Paul: Well, I’m not so sure anymore.

Isabella: What are you talking about?

Paul: Are you pregnant?

Isabella: I beg your pardon?

Paul: It's a simple question, Isabella.

Isabella: A very personal question.

Paul: Yes, it is. Are you pregnant?

Isabella: I'm not going to discuss this with you.

Paul: So you are.

Isabella: I didn't say that. You have some nerve. What we had is over. What goes on with my personal life is no longer your business.

Paul: I have a right to know.

Isabella: Yes, I'm pregnant. Before you say another word, I know what your next question is going to be. Who's the father. Well, it's Michael Baldwin.

Reverend: The sacrament of marriage is one of the miracles of our world. The strongest strand in the web that holds together families, nurtures children, assures a place in our lives for love and commitment for caring, sharing and support through all the joys and hardships of this life. Into this holy union, Phyllis Summers and Jack Abbott now come to be joined. If anyone here can show just cause why they shouldn't be lawfully married, speak now or forever hold your peace. Phyllis and Jack, being the very exceptional people they are, have written their own vows to one another. Phyllis.

Phyllis: I join you in marriage, Jack, to make you my husband for the length of our days. I promise to love and cherish you in happiness and in sorrow. I promise to smile with you, laugh with you and to cry with you. I promise to open my heart to you when I need comfort. And I promise to give you light when your days are dark. And I promise to keep the fires of passion burning always. Today, you and I bond together, never to be torn apart, and together with the help of God may we bring happiness and joy to the lives of all those we touch.

Jack: They said we'd never make it. The odd couple. As I stand here in front of you and everyone else I truly care about, I have a confession to make. I stopped believing in love. I stopped believing that I could ever know love's deepest riches, that somehow cynics like me weren't going to feel it, that somehow this emotional band I was hiding behind wouldn't let it through. You changed all that. Today I believe in love. I believe that love conquers all. I believe that love transforms a man. I believe love gives direction. And I believe that your love for me has made me a greater, stronger, wiser and more humble man. Today as I ask you to be my wife, I promise you two things. I will spend the rest of my life protecting that love and I will always, always appreciate and respect what a truly unique woman you are. Yes, I believe in love. I believe in you. I believe in us.

Olivia: Okay, young man, what is so important that you couldn't wait until morning to see Malcolm?

Nate: Merry Christmas, Dad.

Malcolm: Get out of town. This is for me?

Nate: I wanted you to have it so you could open it up as soon as you woke up tomorrow morning?

Malcolm: This is great. Thank you.

Nate: I wanted to give the money to Mom to give to the kids that lost their folks.

Olivia: I could just hug you again.

Malcolm: I will treasure it forever because it's from you.

Nate: Ted called. He got a new puppy for Christmas. Can I please go see it?

Malcolm: That's fine by me. It gives me a chance to have a word with your mom.

Olivia: It’s family time so don't be long.

Nate: I promise. Dad, don't leave until I get back.

Malcolm: Yes, sir.

Olivia: See me about what?

Malcolm: Neil.

Olivia: It's Christmas Eve.

Malcolm: I want to know if you're going to see him tonight.

Olivia: We hadn't made any plans.

Malcolm: If you do, if he happens to call, I want to make sure that brother of mine understands he's no longer welcome on my doorstep for Christmas.

Olivia: If I see him, I will let him know.

Malcolm: You never respected my judgment before.

Olivia: Are you trying to pick a fight with me?

Malcolm: Admit it, you had suspicions about Neil’s feelings for Alex.

Olivia: So?

Malcolm: There's more to it. Did Neil tell you something directly?

Cassie: Really?

Victor: We'll be there for breakfast.

Cassie: This is like a dream. This is so amazing.

Victor: I'm so glad you like it.

Cassie: I do. Thank you so much, Victor.

Victor: You're welcome. You sleep now, okay?

Sharon: I'm going to go get changed.

Victoria: Is everything okay?

Nicholas: I thought this trip would make a difference.

Victoria: It looks like things are rough between you and Sharon.

Nicholas: And it's getting worse.

Victoria: How long has this been going on?

Nicholas: A couple days now.

Victoria: I thought things were getting better.

Nicholas: So did I and then everything changed. I don't know why.

Reverend: Do you have a ring?

Jack: Ah, yeah. As a symbol of my promises to you, I give you this ring. Wear it as a reminder of all we share.

Phyllis: I cannot believe this is happening. Oh, my God.

Jack: I'm not allowed to kiss you just yet.

Phyllis: Okay. I give you this ring as a symbol of our promise. Wear it as a reminder of everything we share.

Reverend: In as much as you have pledged to each other your lifelong commitment, love and devotion, I now pronounce you husband and wife, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Let what God has joined together, let no one pull asunder. Now you can kiss her.

Jack: Thank you.

Paul: Michael Baldwin?

Isabella: That's right.

Paul: What kind of a sick joke is this?

Isabella: It's not a joke. We met at Jack and Phyllis' engagement party. When I was on top of the world because of you? We met again by chance after you shattered my dreams. He was there for me. He never tried to remind me he wanted to be with someone else. It's quite refreshing.

Paul: What are you going to do now, marry the guy?

Isabella: I'm not in love with him, Paul. Of course I’m not going to marry him.

Paul: You're having his baby.

Isabella: He decided to support me during this pregnancy. After the child is born, we'll see what happens. Now aren't you glad you asked? Merry Christmas, Paul. I have to get some air.

Lauren: Your mother's wondering what's keeping you.

Paul: I can't believe what I just heard.

Lauren: What did she say?

Paul: I don't want to get into it. Suffice it to say I know why she's still in town. Let's go.

Lauren: Okay.

Olivia: Malcolm, whatever Neil told me told you directly how he feels about Alex. What more is there to know?

Malcolm: You wouldn't be sparing my feelings are you?

Olivia: Do you recall me recently trying to spare you a feeling?

Nate: Mom, Dad. You have to see the puppy. He is awesome.

Olivia: We will another time.

Nate: I know Dad has to go. I'm glad you waited to say goodbye. Tomorrow will be great even if Uncle Neil isn't there.

Malcolm: Yeah, it sure is. Come here, man.

Mackenzie: Congratulations.

Katherine: Congratulations.

Jack: Katherine, thank you so much for being here.

Katherine: You, my dear, you are certainly a beautiful bride.

Phyllis: I owe it all to Ashley.

Katherine: That sounds like a story.

Ashley: I will never tell.

John: Well --

Jack: Hey, thought you would never see the day, huh?

John: I wouldn't say that. Congratulations. And congratulations to you.

Mamie: You two were obviously meant to be together.

Phyllis: Thanks, Mamie.

Mamie: Aunt Mamie to you, young lady.

Alex: No, you don't understand. It is over, and I can't have anything to do with you ever again.

Neil: I almost forgot about these. To Nate from Uncle Neil. To Olivia. Malcolm. Alex.

Alex: You're home.

Malcolm: Hey. How long have you been home?

Alex: Not long. I went to the store, picked up the goose and we're all ready for the big feast tomorrow.

Malcolm: Sounds good, baby.

Alex: So I can hardly wait. It's going to be our first family Christmas. I'm really looking forward to seeing Nate. I bet you are too.

Malcolm: Well, actually, I just saw him.

Alex: You did? When?

Malcolm: Just a little while ago. He called me from his mom's.

Alex: You were at Olivia’s?

Malcolm: Yeah, yeah. Little Nate has a present for me. You know me, I couldn't turn him down.

Alex: Yeah. But honey, couldn't it wait until tomorrow when we were all going to be together?

Malcolm: What can I say? My son wanted me to have something to open first thing in the morning. Is that a problem?

Alex: No, no. Usually you avoid dealing with your ex and today you made a special trip.

Malcolm: And I told you why.

Alex: Mmm-hmm. So is Nate’s gift the only reason you went by Liv's? Or is something else going on?

Malcolm: I don't know, Alex. What else could it be?

Billy: What can I say?

Phyllis: You're doing a great job.

Jack: Leave out the part of the ancient big brother.

Billy: For an old guy, you haven't done bad for yourself. You hooked yourself up with a major babe. My friends will be, "Yo, man, this is your sister-in-law?" Hands off, guys. She's taken.

Jack: That's right, she's taken.

Billy: Yeah, so, that's my toast. You guys are the best. I know you're going to have a great life together. So here's to ya, huh?

Jack: Cheers. Thanks, Billy. Great job.

Billy: Congratulations.

Mackenzie: I heard what happened.

Colleen: That got around fast.

Mackenzie: I know you don't want to talk about it. If you get the urge, call me any time. Can you do that?

Colleen: Okay.

Mackenzie: I know what you're going through.

Colleen: You do?

Ashley: What is it?

Brad: Colleen has no idea how lucky she is. She's surrounded by people who love her and care about her. What does she do, rejects them.

Ashley: Just calm down. There's nothing you can do about it right now.

Katherine: So where are the two of you going on your honeymoon?

Phyllis: Well, my husband wanted to whisk me away for the weekend.

Jack: I had a perfect place in mind.

Phyllis: We figured it was so close to the holidays, we wanted to spend time with the family.

John: Would you --?

Billy: Isn't it time for a Christmas tradition?

John: Are you talking about the Christmas story? Jack, Phyllis?

Jack: Absolutely. The great tradition continues.

Alex: Never mind. I am glad you got to spend time with Nate. Who, by the way, is not the only one with an early present for you.

Malcolm: Oh, yeah?

Alex: Yes. I think you're going to like it.

Malcolm: Uh-oh. What do we have here? A recliner? Big screen TV.

Alex: Only one way to find out.

Malcolm: They say great things come in small packages.

Alex: Right.

Malcolm: Right, right, right. If that is the case, then I know we have ourselves a -- a car key?

Alex: Mmm-hmm.

Malcolm: What's this for?

Alex: Well, it's that little convertible rocket you have been salivating over for the past couple months.

Malcolm: Get out of here. You bought me a car?

Alex: I knew you wanted it, so I went and got one. A special edition.

Malcolm: Okay, damn. I know how much this thing costs. Where did you get the money from?

Alex: I used the bonus for nailing that HMO's butt to the wall. I wanted to do something special for you.

Malcolm: Thank you. Baby, this is too much.

Alex: No it's not, baby. You deserve everything and anything I can give you. Well? I mean don't I at least get a kiss?

Malcolm: Yeah, of course. Thank you, baby.

Alex: You're welcome.

Malcolm: Come here, you.

Victoria: Still awake?

Sharon: Yeah. I'm not sleepy.

Victoria: Neither am I.

Sharon: How are you doing? I know that Christmas can't be easy for you.

Victoria: I'm okay. It helps being here with all of you. You know, our family has been through so much. I guess it feels comforting to know that you're all still here. It makes me feel hopeful.

Sharon: I'm glad.

Victoria: You don't feel the same? Do you want to talk about it?

Sharon: No. There's nothing to talk about. I want to put a blanket on Noah.

Nicholas: Sharon, look, I know this isn't the best time. I know there's something bothering you. And I need to know what it is.

Sharon: You're right, Nick, this isn't the best time.

[Phone ringing]

Neil: Hello?

Olivia: Hi.

Neil: Hi.

Olivia: I was wondering if you want to have dinner with Nate and me.

Neil: I appreciate the offer but you have other plans.

Olivia: Really.

Neil: Yeah.

Olivia: Okay then. Merry Christmas, Neil.

Neil: Merry Christmas, Liv.

Singers: Out of the city of Nazareth unto Judea, into what is called Bethlehem, with Mary who was great with child.

Ashley: And so it was while they were there, the days are accomplished that she should be delivered. She brought forth her firstborn so and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn.

Phyllis: And there were in the same country shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night. The angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, they were so afraid.

John: Thank you. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings and great joy which will be to all people. For unto you are born this day in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord. There shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in the manger.

Victor: Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to all men.

Singers: All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and child Holy infant so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night, holy night shepherds quake at the sight Glory from God up above the angels singing hallelujah Christ our savior is born Christ our savior is born Silent night Holy night
