Mackenzie: Please, you have to go along with me on this. You won't tell anyone my mom was here, will you?
Billy: No, no, I promise. Are you worried she might show up again?
Mackenzie: No. I know my mom can't hurt me. She's a part of my life I want to forget. If they know my mom was here --
Billy: I know, you don't want to answer some questions.
Mackenzie: I don't know how my mom found me. It doesn't even matter. Something positive did come of it, though. I know now my mom's not a threat. She's out of my life once and for all. I've seen her, told her I want nothing to do with her. She knows my grandma is my legal guardian. There's nothing my mom can do. She's out of my life for good.
Jack: Hey, gang. Sorry to keep you waiting.
Billy: Paychecks, Jack?
Jack: They're here. Get them while they're hot. Raul. J.T. Raul, Raul, don't take off yet. We want to have a little group meeting.
Raul: I'm kind of in a hurry, Jack.
Jack: This won't take long.
Billy: Why are we having a group meeting? The party's over.
Jack: It is and it isn't.
Sean: We have a proposal for you guys.
Mary: Hello, son.
Paul: Hello, Mom. What are you doing here?
Mary: I'm not going to stay long. I wanted to know if you --
Paul: If I heard from Isabella? The answer is no, and I don't expect to either.
Michael: This is the second time in a month I have been to the hospital to visit a friend. I'm beginning to feel like I'm bad luck.
Isabella: Hey, Michael.
Michael: Hey, yourself. How are you feeling?
Isabella: My head hurts but other than that, I'll be fine.
Michael: I spoke to the nurse.
Isabella: They're running some tests. This is your entire fault.
Michael: Mine?
Isabella: You called me on my cell phone while I was driving. I took the road to --
Michael: How do you know I was reaching out to touch you?
Isabella: I saw your name on the caller ID after the crash.
Michael: How was your car?
Isabella: It's being fixed as we speak. That's why I called you.
Michael: You need money?
Isabella: I have enough to cover the repairs. My hospital bill is another story.
Michael: Without insurance?
Isabella: Will pay you back every cent. I need time to get back on my feet. Please, Michael. I have to get out of here.
Michael: What's the rush?
Isabella: I'm leaving town. This time it's for real.
Ashley: Well, hello Olivia. What brings you by?
Olivia: I need a reason to check in on my best friend?
Ashley: I'm sure you have one. You're worried about me.
Olivia: A little. Looks like I had more fun at Jack's party than you did.
Ashley: It wasn't a stellar evening. He bares his heart for all to see and she leaves him. She said yes. We're going to be family.
Olivia: Jack must be thrilled.
Ashley: He's ecstatic.
Olivia: By comparison must make your situation more uncomfortable. We need to talk about it.
Ashley: No, we don't.
Olivia: You were right before. I am worried. And I guess that you're worried too.
Traci: Hi, Dad.
John: Traci, are you here to invite your old dad to lunch?
Traci: That sounds like a good idea, but I'm here to look for Brad, have you seen him?
John: No.
Traci: I'll try his office again.
John: What's going on?
Traci: A photographer showed up at the house to do a portrait.
John: That doesn't sound like a problem. Colleen wanted to do a sitting with me and Brad. It sounded like a simple question and I'm not sure why Ashley was so bothered by it.
John: What did your sister say?
Traci: Nothing. Brad's look spoke volumes. He told Colleen it wasn't going to work out. I have no problem with him standing by his wife. I wish it didn't have to be at our daughter's expense. Poor little thing, she's completely rejected.
Brad: Hey.
Colleen: I thought you went to the office.
Brad: I have a brief I need for a meeting today. I can't seem to find it.
Colleen: I see something on the coffee table.
Brad: I think that's it. Thanks. Good book?
Colleen: It's okay.
Brad: Think you can put it down for a minute so we can talk? There are things I need to say this morning.
Colleen: We don't need to talk about it.
Brad: It's not that I didn't want to have a picture taken with you, Colleen. I would like that very much. There are other things involved. It's not a reflection of how I feel. I don't want you ever doubt how I feel.
Colleen: I didn't mean to upset anyone. I thought it would be nice to have a picture with you and Mom. Aren't we a family?
Brad: Everyone in this house shares a connection. Ash is your aunt, Abby's your cousin.
Colleen: And you are my father.
Brad: What I'm trying to say is you, your mom and I are family. But we're not "a" family like you're thinking.
Sean: So the boutique would be open a few hours after school every day. Highlights uploaded to air.
Jack: You have plenty of time for your studies.
Sean: You heard enough of us yammering on. What do you think?
Raul: No thanks.
Sean: That's pretty definite.
Raul: Yeah, it is. I'm not interested.
Jack: This will be your decision. There is a bit of money to be made here. You might want to think about this.
Raul: I have another job lined up for the school year.
Billy: It won't pay nearly as much as this.
Raul: I'll manage.
Billy: Why would you want to?
Raul: We'll be paired off. You and Mac will be together. Who will that leave me with?
Jack: J.T.?
J.T.: Sure. I'll like to be paired off with Riana.
Jack: Let's check with Miss Miner.
Riana: Can I get back to you on that?
Brittany: It sounds exciting. I never had an after school job before.
Jack: Your answer is yes.
Brittany: Definitely. I have one question. If Billy and Mac are together and J.T. and Riana are together, who will I work with?
Jack: One day you'll work with Billy and Mackenzie. Heck, maybe we'll have a shift with the ladies.
Brittany: It'll be like the Girl Scouts but we'll sell makeup instead of cookies. I have another question. Who's in charge?
Sean: You're looking at him.
Brittany: I thought you were leaving town?
Sean: Change of plans. Looks like I'm sticking around for a while.
Brittany: Really? Isn't that interesting?
John: I know you don't want to hear this.
Traci: You're right, I probably don't.
John: I warned you about it. Staying in that house with Colleen would bring about more turmoil.
Traci: It was a minor incident.
John: It's a prelude of what's to come. She will get closer to Brad and vice versa.
Traci: Brad is not trying to replace Steve as her father.
John: I am not trying to point fingers at anyone. You have to put a stop put a stop it. I insist you move back to our home.
Traci: I had a conversation with Ashley about this. She's willing to stay with our arrangement, difficult and complicated as the situation is. She said she's all right with it.
John: I know you're asking for trouble.
Traci: And you have every right to your opinion. Brad, Ashley and I are adults. We want to handle this in our own way and that's what we intend to do. I love you, and I will talk to you later.
Colleen: Is there something wrong?
Brad: No, but I worry when I hear you talk like this.
Colleen: Like what?
Brad: You referred to Steve as ‘that man’; you don't want to see him again?
Colleen: I don't.
Brad: I know he made a mistake.
Colleen: He cheated on my mom. That's more than a mistake.
Brad: That doesn't change how he feels about you.
Colleen: It changes everything.
Brad: What you and Steve share is sacred. And I'm not here to drive a wedge between the two of you. If that's what I'm doing, I'm going to have to take a good, hard look at our relationship. You understand what I'm saying?
Colleen: Yes.
Mary: I'm not surprised you haven't heard from Isabella. She seemed quite distraught last night, which is all the reason why you should be out looking for her.
Paul: That's not a good idea.
Mary: Paul, you have the resources to track her down. She can't have gone far. Why don't you try to find her?
Paul: Because she has no desire to be found.
Mary: Now you're not making any sense whatsoever.
Paul: Isabella thinks I'm only interested in her because I am on the rebound. I'm not over my wife yet, at least not as much as she needs me to be.
Mary: I'm sorry, Paul.
Paul: So am I.
Mary: I don't know what you said to Isabella about Christine, but I'm assuming you brought it up. I have to ask why. Why did you say anything at all?
Ashley: Okay. Brad and I are having problems, but we'll work it out.
Olivia: It seems so.
Ashley: Don't sound so encouraging.
Olivia: It looked very tense between you and Brad. It looks grim.
Ashley: It's that transparent?
Olivia: We have been friends a long time. I know when you're hurting. Are you and Brad still avoiding this issue?
Ashley: We can't. It's ever present in our lives. Brad and Colleen certainly seem closer.
Ashley: Closer every darn day.
Olivia: At the expense of his relationship to Abby?
Ashley: He doesn't admit to it. He doesn't see what's happening in front of his face.
Olivia: Have you tried talking to him?
Ashley: We are on such different wavelengths. He doesn't think I'm listening to him and I know he doesn't hear me.
Olivia: You're at an impasse.
Ashley: All of a sudden this issue of paternity is huge. Last night he accused me of making him feel like Abby is not his daughter. Do you know how upsetting that is?
Olivia: He couldn't pull it out of thin air.
Ashley: I don't know how it started. There's so much tension, bad feelings.
Olivia: You have to get beyond that.
Ashley: I'm not sure I know how.
Olivia: Okay. Have you thought that Brad could be dealing with guilt himself? All those years he hasn't spent with Colleen?
Ashley: That's what Traci wanted.
Olivia: He feels like he's abandoned his daughter and these feelings have gotten stronger with your child. It's unfortunate to see this come between you and Brad. I know how in love you two are. I never doubted that.
Ashley: I know. We really do love each other. There's so much weird history and so much baggage. It's starting to take its toll.
Olivia: Which I think the only way to get past this is not to concentrate on the past but focus on the future.
Brad: There you go.
Colleen: Thanks.
Brad: You're welcome. I'm glad we cleared the air.
Colleen: Can I ask you a question?
Brad: Mm-hmm, anything.
Colleen: You said we couldn't have our picture taken because there were other issues. Did they have anything to do with Ashley?
Brad: Why would you ask that?
Colleen: Mom asked if I noticed any stress between you two.
Brad: That's not the point.
Colleen: Not that it was because we could have our picture taken?
Brad: I'll tell you what. If it means that much to you, I'm going to set a date for you and me to have our portrait taken.
Colleen: And Mom too?
Brad: No, sweetheart, just the two of us. Look, I am not trying to be the bad guy here. But there are some things going on that aren't healthy for any of us. I'm trying to get it resolved because I don't want you to get hurt.
Colleen: I think I'll go read in my room for a while.
Michael: You want to leave Genoa City.
Isabella: As soon as I possibly can.
Michael: That doesn't make any sense. At the Abbott's you were excited about this rendezvous you planned with Paul.
Isabella: During the party, Victor called Paul and asked to see him about some urgent business. By the time Paul got to the lodge, he was all hung up on his wife again. When I asked what was wrong, he started pawing at me as if making love to me would let him forget about his wife. I had to get out of there.
Michael: No, no, no, you're making way too much out of this. Besides, I don't want you to leave town and lest we forget, I do have one ace up my sleeve.
Isabella: What's that?
Michael: Well, suppose I tell Paul why you really walked into his life. How do you think he’ll react?
Jill: It's the holiday budget I had for the men's.
John: Why?
Jill: It's one thing to attract the teens on holidays. Then we have the real risk of over-exposure. Drag this out until everybody is sick and tired of the Glow by Jabot gang.
John: Jill, I'm afraid that won't happen.
Jill: Why are you so bothered? You are just like the rest of them. No matter what I say, your first reaction is that you disagree with me.
John: That's not true and you know it. You have to see the merit in this campaign. We spent a lot of money on that retail space downstairs.
Jill: Silly me thinking my opinion might matter. John you come back here. You have been outnumbered on business decisions many times before. Now come on, is there another reason you're upset about this?
Paul: What are you suggesting, Mom? I should have hidden my true feelings about Isabella?
Mary: Yes, there are some things that are better kept to one’s self.
Paul: That's the advice for building a true, strong relationship.
Mary: The divorce papers have been filed. It would be easier if you met Isabella after you grieved. This woman came into your life. You have strong feelings for her, you should fight for them.
Paul: I can't believe what I'm hearing. In the eyes of the law and, yes, in the eyes of the church, Chris and I are married. You are my mother and I love you. You are being such a hypocrite. You are talking about the sanctity of marriage and you practically encourage me to have an affair. I am sick of you interfering in my life! I am sick and tired of you sticking your nose in my business! I want you to just back off!
Isabella: Once I leave town, you can tell Paul whatever you want. When Christine found out you and I conspired all along, she would never speak to you again.
Michael: I should go. You're going to need your rest.
Excuse me, Mr.. Baldwin? Miss Brogna mentioned you'll be handling her medical bills. You need to sign these forms.
Michael: There's been a change in plans. I won't be covering those bills. But I think I know someone who may be able to help her. I'll give you the name and number.
Ashley: I'm not sure I know what you mean.
Olivia: Here's what I'm hearing; that Brad is bonding with his biological daughter and on some level you feel worried about his commitment to your daughter.
Ashley: Obviously, I haven't handled this well. I left it up to Trace whether or not Colleen should be staying with us.
Olivia: She didn't say yes.
Ashley: She wanted to protect Steve and Colleen's relationship because she acted as her father her whole life.
Olivia: That's not what she decided.
Ashley: Now I'm stuck. Now I have created more tension. Brad didn't see conflict at all. That's not what this girl is doing. She is using Brad to push Steve out of her life. What if there's reconciliation? Brad and Traci don't see a problem here. I see a problem.
Olivia: Ashley, there's never going to be a meeting of the minds. That's why I say look to the future. Colleen is Brad's daughter. Abby is yours. Have you and Brad thought about having another baby, a child that's yours together?
Ashley: Yeah. We were going to start trying around Abby's first birthday.
Olivia: My advice is you don't wait. Start now.
Brad: Hi.
Traci: I finally found you.
Brad: I didn't know I was missing.
Traci: I went to Jabot. I wanted to talk about what happened with Colleen.
Brad: That's one of the reasons I came home.
Traci: To talk with her.
Brad: We had a good talk. We straightened things out. I hope you don't mind.
Traci: Thank you, Brad. It's a big load off of my mind.
Brad: I have to get back to the office.
Traci: I'll see you later.
Brad: I'll see you later.
Colleen: Is Brad still here?
Traci: Sweetie, you just missed him.
Colleen: He told me why we couldn't have our picture taken. Brad didn't want to make things worse with Ashley.
Traci: He told you that?
Colleen: I have eyes, Mom. There's something I still don't understand.
Traci: What?
Colleen: Brad said we were family but not a family. I was kind of confused by that. I'm confused by that but he is my dad.
Traci: Brad and I are friends now.
Colleen: You were married. After the divorce you didn't see each other much. Now you're seeing each other more. I wonder if any of those feelings are coming back.
Traci: This has gone far enough. The only thing I am focusing on is trying to fix my marriage can Steve.
Colleen: You’re wasting your time.
Traci: That is for me to decide. I don't know where you're getting these questions about Brad and me. That is enough of it. You're not to dwell on this, okay?
Colleen: Fine.
Jill: John, I'm an experienced, astute business woman. I bend over backwards for this company. How do you all treat me? My opinions are ignored. It's not bad enough, you take the side of a virtual stranger.
John: What do you mean stranger? Are you talking about Sean?
Jill: Don't tell me your family hasn't told you the gossip. What on earth could he have been thinking of? Jill? He must have been out of his mind.
John: Are you telling me that the two of you were --?
Jill: Go ahead, act like it's the most unbelievable thing you have heard.
John: You have been dating.
Jill: We were dating but it's over. This is why Ashley and Jack are so gung ho to keep this boutique thing going.
John: I don't know what to say.
Jill: Why don't you lecture me on how foolish I was to let this happen in the first place? You'd be right. God, I should have had my head examined. How could I have been so stupid, John?
Brittany: Need a hand?
Sean: No thanks. I got it.
Brittany: A lot to do before we reopen?
Sean: Not much, change the clothes, restock the cosmetics. I'll leave that to the experts.
Brittany: I bet you'll be sticking around here for a while. Whose idea was it to keep the boutique going?
Sean: Mine. Are we done with the interrogation?
Brittany: I guess. Is there something you want to ask me? The last night of the summer campaign when I was blowing out the candles on my birthday cake, I made a wish. Aren't you wondering what it was?
J.T.: Thought I'd find you here.
Riana: What do you want, J.T.?
J.T.: I hope you're not busy tonight. I scored two tickets to the concert.
Riana: I don't think so.
J.T.: You have been down long enough. Time to have some fun.
Riana: That's really sweet of you. I'm just not up for it.
J.T.: You going to sit here and be depressed?
Riana: Would you stop?
J.T.: I said I wouldn't push, but look what you're doing to yourself. The guy is a jerk. Time to move on.
Riana: I'm sick of you ragging on Raul. You're making it worse. J.T. Just leave me alone.
J.T.: Hey, you.
It's been a while.
J.T.: You don't return my calls.
That's because you never call.
J.T.: You free tonight?
I sure am.
J.T.: You want to go to a concert with me?
Would love to.
J.T.: Want to see the band?
Not particularly.
J.T.: What are we waiting for? Let's go.
Mackenzie: You were kind of quiet on the ride over here. Billy, you have that look on your face again. Like your body's here but your mind's a million miles away.
Billy: Will you tell me if I'm being a nag?
Mackenzie: You're thinking about my mom? Do we have to go through this again? I told you I'm not afraid of her.
Billy: I know. I'm just wondering if her visit upset you more than you were letting on.
Mackenzie: She's gone and I'm all right. I promise.
Billy: How old were you when she first started seeing your stepdad?
Mackenzie: About eight.
Billy: Did she have boyfriends before that?
Mackenzie: Not that I remember.
Billy: It was just the two of you. How did that work out?
Mackenzie: What do you mean?
Billy: How was your relationship toward each other?
Mackenzie: It was normal. Considering what happened afterwards. Can we change the subject?
Billy: How about I buy us both a cup of coffee, huh?
Mackenzie: That would be great.
Traci: It's beautiful.
Brad: I wish it could get bigger. That'll come later. I'm getting ahead of myself. You haven't given me an answer yet.
Traci: An answer?
Brad: Traci, will you marry me? Well, say something. You want me to have a heart attack over here?
Traci: I can't believe this is happening.
Brad: Believe it.
Traci: You want me to --
Brad: To be my wife.
Traci: Brad, I -- I'm so taken by surprise. I didn't expect this. I mean -- I mean, you and I were getting close, but now look a man like you.
Brad: That's right a man like me. Traci, I want us to be together as man and wife. I want us to build a life together, and I hope very much that you want the same thing.
Traci: You're everything any girl could ever dream of.
Brad: Does that mean yes?
Traci: It means that I'm really taken by surprise. I never expected any of this. Brad, do you think you would understand if I just took a day to think about this before I gave you my answer?
Brad: Yeah. Yeah, of course I understand. As long as that answer's going to be yes.
[Doorbell sounding]
Traci: What am I doing to myself? This is insane. Steve, what are you doing here?
Steve: Hello, Traci.
May I get you something, Miss Brogna?
Isabella: I need to speak to someone in accounting about my bill.
It's being taken care of.
Isabella: How can that be? I haven't made other arrangements.
The gentleman outside is handling it.
Isabella: What gentleman?
Paul: Me.
