Victor: So where would you like to sit?

Tricia: Um, I don't know.

Victor: Why don't we go to the patio?

Tricia: Fine.

Larry: What's up, sugarplum?

Larry: You know I've got nothing to hide, unlike you.

Tricia: I have nothing to hide.

Larry: Trying to get rid of me? That's too bad because I'm not going anywhere.

Tricia: I want you to leave right now. Listen, Carter is going to be home any second.

Larry: Shut up! I don't want any lip from you, understand me? So zip it. I'm staying right here until Carter comes back. We have some business to take care of. It has nothing to do with you.

Victor: What's the matter, Tricia? How come you're shaking?

Tricia: Can we please get out of here?

Jack: You need time, take it. Yeah, I'm serious. We could all use a break now and then. Okay. You, too. Thanks.

Ashley: Good, you're still here. We need to discuss new fragrances. You can see the results are conclusive.

Jack: Good morning to you, too.

Ashley: I'm busy, Jack. I don't have time for chitchat. What do you think?

Jack: I think it looks great.

Ashley: I'll bring it to marketing.

Jack: Aren't you the least bit curious how things turned out last night?

Ashley: What things?

Jack: I thought you might be interested in Phyllis's reaction to my proposal. As you can see from the smile on my face, I'm officially engaged. And by the look on yours, you're just thrilled. I need your support on this. It's a done deal.

Ashley: I am more concerned about my own relationship than I am yours.

Brittany: Sorry, no Rianna. It must be a drag knowing she doesn't care about you.

J.T.: You don't know what's going on.

Brittany: When you were home playing video games, I got myself invited to a shindig at the Abbott’s.

J.T.: Whoopee.

Brittany: Sean was there. He's the most amazing dancer.

J.T.: What are you saying? You got it on with the web master?

Brittany: Not yet. It won't be long, Sean, and it's just a matter of time.

Brittany: Mrs. Abbott, what are you doing here? J.T. and I were thinking of going to the boutique.

Jill: J.T., give us a moment.

J.T.: Good luck.

Brittany: You know, I really --

Jill: Not so fast. You know, I have made some mistakes of underestimating your maliciousness. But not anymore. You never really cared about my son, did you? And now you set your sights elsewhere. This time, honey, you are totally out of your league.

Brittany: I guess Sean will be the judge of that.

Jill: You really are a fool. Sean's job was for the summer only, Brittany.

Brittany: So?

Jill: Summer's over which means there's no reason for him to stick around, which means you're all on your own to deal with me. And honey, I'm no school girl.

Katherine: Where, um -- where's Mackenzie?

Billy: She went to get changed.

Katherine: All right, Billy, what do you think? You think she's all right?

Billy: Seeing her mom for the first time in years freaked her out. But I think she's handling it.

Katherine: I pray to God that woman doesn't show up here again.

Billy: I thought you said she said she wasn't coming back.

Katherine: I can't take her word for that.

Billy: What can you do?

Katherine: Perhaps I can hire Paul Williams, track her down. Tell her she's not welcome here. On the other hand, that could set her off. Mackenzie is always so upset --

Mackenzie: Grandma, it's okay. I'm fine.

Neil: Alex, what do you mean you can't take the job?

Alex: It's not going to work.

Neil: Just like that, it's not going to work. You have to give me some kind of reason.

Alex: Neil, it's too big of a change. Working for a corporation full-time.

Neil: I thought we'd agreed.

Alex: I hadn't thought it through completely. I'm really sorry, Neil.

Neil: That I understand. You specialized in medical issues your entire career.

Alex: And a position here would require me to change my focus.

Neil: That wouldn't be a problem because you're a brilliant attorney.

Alex: Please accept my decision.

Neil: It doesn't make any sense. Alex, what's going on? Is there some other reason you're turning me down?

Sean: Hey, you're early. Checks haven't been cut yet.

Rianna: What are you doing?

Sean: Reviewing footage for another best of Glow by Jabot showing. You have to feed the beast. Let me get back to you. I have to run. Meeting with the suits. Tell them I'll be down shortly with your paychecks.

Rianna: What about all this stuff?

Sean: It's yours. Perks of the job. Rianna, take care.

Rianna: Bye.

Raul: What's that?

Rianna: We get to ring in the New Year together.

Mackenzie: Please don't worry about me.

Katherine: Mackenzie, don't you understand I know that you're frightened?

Mackenzie: Seeing my mother was a shock. She's gone now and I'm all right.

Katherine: Do not be brave for me.

Mackenzie: I'm not, honest. You ready?

Billy: Yeah, let's go.

Katherine: Where are you going?

Billy: The boutique, to pick up our last paycheck.

Katherine: Spend it wisely.

Billy: I'll spend it on Mackenzie here.

Mackenzie: Like heck you are.

Billy: First go to a movie, go shopping. Take you to a fancy restaurant.

Mackenzie: Where, the Colonnade Room?

Billy: Sounds perfect.

Mackenzie: I will not let you waste your money on me like that.

Billy: It's not a waste when I spend it on you.

Katherine: Just have a great time.

Billy: We will.

Mackenzie: I have to get my bag.

Katherine: Thank you, Billy, for putting a smile on her face again.

Billy: No problem.

Mackenzie: Ready?

Billy: Yeah, let's go.

Katherine: Off, you two. Remember, have fun.

Billy: Bye.

Katherine: Bye-bye.

Billy: What do you think?

Mackenzie: I hope she's okay. This whole thing with my mom, it's like my grandma is more upset than I am.

Billy: It's okay. It's all right.

Malcolm: Mamie, thank you for coming by. Come in.

Mamie: Malcolm, is there something wrong? Olivia hasn't done anything.

Malcolm: Mamie, easy, easy. Things are great with Nate. Couldn't be better.

Mamie: I should have known that by the smile on your face.

Malcolm: Nate isn't the only reason I'm cheesing like this.

Mamie: Tell me why you're so happy.

Malcolm: I will when my mystery guest arrives. I promise to break it down for you then. In the mean time, bam!

Mamie: Champagne.

Malcolm: I know it's a little early for champagne but as they say you only live one time.

Mamie: It must be very good news.

Malcolm: Mamie, trust me. It is the best news.

Victor: Would you like to sit down?

Tricia: I thought I put it behind me but seeing that man again.

Victor: Talking about Larry Warton?

Tricia: It all came back.

Victor: What came back?

Tricia: That horrible time. What was he doing there? I thought he was in jail. Did he escape or something?

Victor: He's out on probation.

Tricia: How can they let a man like that out on the streets?

Victor: You can't count on the legal system keeping people behind bars anymore.

Tricia: The way he looked at me.

Victor: I have to go to work. I will have one of the guards keep you company.

Tricia: That's okay. I'd rather be alone.

Victor: Are you sure?

Tricia: That's fine. I'll be all right.

Alex: Neil, Neil, I admit it's an exciting offer.

Neil: Say yes. We'll let you choose where you think you will be most effective.

Alex: Is there something about the word ‘no’ that you don't understand?

Neil: Yes. No. There's no rush, okay? Take your time. Promise you'll get back to me.

Alex: I have an appointment.

I have those numbers -- sorry.

Neil: Come on in. I'm wrapping up now. Come on in. Alex, I know this is a big decision. We are offering an incredible opportunity. The best part, we get to keep working together.

Rianna: Hey.

J.T.: The others aren't here yet?

Rianna: No. Raul, look --

Raul: I'm going to wait outside.

J.T.: What's up?

Rianna: Not much.

J.T.: Ri, what's wrong?

Rianna: Nothing.

J.T.: Hey, did Raul say something?

Rianna: I don't know why I still let him get to me.

J.T.: It'll take a little time. It'll be all right.

Rianna: I know you mean well. I just want to be left alone.

J.T.: Sure. Like I said, I am not going to push. If you need me, I'm here, all right?

Larry: I know that Tricia's scared of me but did you see how flipped out she was?

Sharon: Your plan worked.

Larry: Still, I can't get over the fact that Victor went along with it.

Sharon: Victor will do anything to protect his family. What? What is it?

Larry: I keep thinking about Tricia.

Sharon: You're not having regrets, are you?

Larry: That dame is one messed up broad.

Sharon: She is a dangerous woman. No wonder she was scared.

Larry: That was no act. She was freaked out of her skull just from seeing me.

Matt: Not a word. Big brother's watching.

Tricia: I don't want to talk to you, especially after seeing this disgusting man again.

Matt: I'm the only part of your brain that's thinking clearly. Did you hear what Newman saying the right people not always being put away? He meant you.

Tricia: You don't know that.

Matt: You don't quit. He's always looking for an angle. Running into Larry Warton, maybe that wasn't a coincidence, huh? Did you think he was getting your defenses down? Why would he want to be in public with a crazy broad like you? He was looking for your weak spot, looking for a reaction. Boy, did he get it.

Tricia: Why would he want to scare me like that?

Matt: Maybe he was trying to get you to flip out. He could be talking to the doctors right now trying to get you committed permanently. I don't know. You know, I thought it was a good idea for you to move in here. Now I'm not so sure. Maybe you don't have what it takes to pull this off.

Ryan: Advertising on the net is a much more efficient way to get to our customers.

Neil: I agree. You think I can leave that in your hands?

Ryan: Yeah, yeah.

Neil: My buddy, good. One less thing I have to worry about.

Ryan: Referring to Ms. Perez by any chance?

Neil: I still don't get it. Victor was so impressed the way she handled the HMO case. He offered her a job. She was all gung ho at first.

Ryan: And now?

Neil: Now she turned me down flat.

Ryan: Did she say why?

Neil: She said she didn't think it would be a good fit. What's that all about? I think I got her at least to consider the idea. What? You have some idea what's going on?

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, I do. I'm not sure you want to hear this.

Alex: The door's unlocked.

Malcolm: There she is.

Mamie: Is this your mystery guest?

Malcolm: Yes, it is.

Alex: What are you doing?

Malcolm: Mamie, see, Alex and I, we were going to tell you yesterday at the party. Being I was such the party-pooper -- actually, you know what? I want to do this right. Ladies, what I'm about to is make a speech. This does not happen all the time so you need to listen up and listen close. Here it goes. This -- well, it's been a pretty rough year. The only thing that has gotten me through it is the help of three very, very special people in my life, two of which are standing in front of me right now. The other person being my big brother. He couldn't make it today because he's taking care of his business. But without him, Alex and I, we wouldn't be as close as we are. Come here, you. Now today is a new day. The bad stuff is behind us. I get to be with my son. Something else pretty amazing has also happened. I have fallen head over heels in love with this gorgeous, sexy, luscious, brown sugar woman. And it did not take me long at all to realize that I just can't live without her. I'm not going to lie. She did take her sweet little time getting with the program. But she finally eventually got her priorities straight and stepped up to the plate. Mamie, this is why I asked you here today because we wanted to tell you in person.

Mamie: Wait a minute, are you telling me --?

Malcolm: Yes, yes. Mamie, we are telling you that we are engaged.

Mamie: Oh, Malcolm. I am so happy for you both.

Malcolm: Thank you, Mamie.

Mamie: Oh, that's wonderful.

Sharon: There's no way Tricia was putting on an act.

Larry: You could see it in her eyes. She was losing it, coming unglued. I kind of feel sorry for her because Clark -- God, he treated her like dirt.

Sharon: You're certain he was using her.

Larry: No doubt. Granted, she's got a few screws loose but she was no match for that psycho.

Sharon: Apparently, she was no match for you either.

Larry: She wasn't what you call friendly towards me. She would take shots now and then trying to stand up to me.

Sharon: She certainly wasn't doing that today.

Larry: That's just it. This whole thing seems bizarre which makes me wonder how someone can let a girl like that out of the loony bin. She's got so many issues going on in that noodle head of hers.

Sharon: Thank you for helping me, Larry.

Larry: Yeah, any time.

Ashley: Obviously, I'm happy about it. We'll discuss the particulars after lunch. Talk to you then. The service department is unbelievable.

Jack: Sounds like you're on top of it.

Ashley: What are you saying, I shouldn't be?

Jack: Whoa, slow down. Talk to me. You and Brad having some troubles?

Sean: Great, there's something I wanted to run by you.

Jack: Not right now. We're in the middle of something.

Ashley: We're not in the middle of anything, what's up?

Sean: I was looking through the best of Glow by Jabot clips. Every time you shut down the Glow by Jabot, the sales slip. I did research to confirm this.

Ashley: What are you talking about?

Sean: We have the boutique. It's a killer space. Use it year-round, keep the kids going.

Ashley: The kids are in school.

Sean: Just a couple hours in the afternoon. Probably need one couple a day.

Jack: We could rotate.

Sean: Exactly. Nobody would work that much. We can upload the best clips every Saturday morning.

Ashley: We have to run it by the kids first.

Sean: If they agree?

Jack: I say it's a go.

Ashley: If we move ahead with this, isn't your contract about to expire?

Sean: Good point.

Ashley: We need somebody to coordinate.

Jack: I may have an answer. I have been thinking about upgrading Jabot's website. We would need someone of Sean's caliber to upgrade it, if you're interested.

Jill: Forget it. There's no way Sean is staying with this company.

Rianna: They're not ready yet.

Brittany: Why not?

Rianna: I don't know, ask Sean. He said we could take any of the stuff left over.

Brittany: All this tacky stuff nobody bought?

Rianna: Nobody's forcing you.

J.T.: What's the matter, princess? You don't appreciate your boyfriend's generosity? Maybe Ms. Abbott has you scared off.

Brittany: Like she could. Sean's heading back to New York.

Billy: Hey, Raul, what's up?

Raul: You tell me.

Billy: Checks are delayed.

Raul: No problem.

Mackenzie: Hey. How are you doing?

Rianna: I've been better. Sean was watching some of the old video clips. One of New Year's Eve. Raul and Ri.

Mackenzie: Reminded you of what you guys had? Everybody knows it was special, Ri. If I were you, I wouldn't give up on Raul.

Jack: Would you relax, Jill? We know Sean's contract is up. There's a new deal on the table.

Ashley: A way to capitalize on Glow by Jabot House year-round.

Jill: Reruns?

Jill: The kids are at school. How do you expect them to keep them on a 40-hour work week?

Ashley: We do it part-time.

Jack: And as Sean suggested, we do one couple at a time.

Jill: Oh, this is Sean's idea.

Jack: Sean came us with the concept.

Ashley: We all like it.

Jill: You all lost your minds?

Ashley: Why's that?

Jill: Over exposure.

Jack: We can't have too much of a good thing.

Ashley: The gains far outweigh the risk.

Jill: No one gives a damn. Has anybody thought of Mr. King of the Web's salary?

Jack: If you would just listen you would realize we have that covered too. The whole Jabot website needs updating. Sean will handle both responsibilities.

Jill: You just thought of everything.

Jack: Yes, as a matter of fact, we have.

Jill: For the record, I disagree with this idea.

Ashley: Kind of too bad, Jill.

Jill: You're being awfully quiet.

Sean: What do you want me to say, Jill?

Jill: You want to stay in Genoa City?

Sean: Maybe.

Jill: How low can you sink?

Sean: Jill and I have issues.

Jack: Join the club.

Ashley: Will this affect your decision?

Sean: I'm in.

Jack: Good. The big question now is will the kids be?

Mackenzie: You're funny.

Billy: So anything going on with Raul and Rianna?

Mackenzie: Maybe. Rianna was looking at an old clip of the two of them. I think she misses them.

Billy: Got her thinking how good things used to be.

Mackenzie: Yeah. How about Raul?

Billy: I doubt it.

Mackenzie: The two of them used to be so close.

Billy: I know. We're both friends with them which makes it very hard to hang out with them when they're not on speaking terms.

Mackenzie: I haven't spoken to either of them since the gig at the Glow by Jabot house.

Billy: You should tell them about your mom.

Mackenzie: I would rather we keep that between the two of us.

Billy: Are you sure?

Mackenzie: Yeah.

Mamie: Thank you so much for sharing your good news with me.

Malcolm: You're welcome. I'm glad my fiancée was able to skip out of work and join us.

Mamie: Congratulations again to both of you.

Malcolm: Give me some sugar, girl. I'll walk you out.

Mamie: Okay. Bye-bye.

Alex: Bye, Mamie.

Malcolm: You know I couldn't wait to tell you.

Alex: What a nice surprise.

Malcolm: Well, you, missy, are lucky you got here when you did. I mean, Mamie is no dummy. I call her over here. I have champagne chilling. She was going to figure out what's going on sooner or later.

Alex: Sorry I was late. It couldn't be helped.

Malcolm: Hey, hey, it's cool. What's going on? Anything serious?

Alex: Nothing serious. Everything's fine.

Malcolm: You better watch out. Those stuffy executives, once you become corporate lawyer they will try to stick their hooks in you and keep you there all hours of the night. Me, being the man I am, no. I will make sure you have plenty of free time with yours truly. You know what? As much as I hate to give up these little kisses, your man does have work to do. So I have to get over to the studio, pick up some proofs, get them over to Newman’s. I will see your beautiful, sexy, luscious little self over at the job. So fine, so fine. Don't forget this, you are mine.

Neil: All right, Ryan, I give up. Tell me your latest fantasy about Alex and me.

Ryan: This job you proposed, would you and Alex interact much?

Neil: That was the plan.

Ryan: It was part of the original agreement.

Neil: Ryan, where is this headed? When I walked in, you talked about the two of you continuing to work together.

Neil: So?

Ryan: Did you catch her reaction?

Neil: No.

Ryan: Well, I did. I don't think she would be opposed to jumping on board with Newman Enterprises. I don't think she's so crazy working intimately with you.

Neil: What the hell are you saying? I don't turn her on?

Ryan: There is something definitely going on between you two.

Neil: I don't know if you've been following this story but my brother is engaged to her.

Ryan: It doesn't matter. The two of you have feelings for each other and I think that's why she's freaking out about this offer.

[Knock on door]

Victor: Come in.

Sharon: Victor, sorry to interrupt.

Victor: It's all right.

Sharon: What happened after you and Tricia left?

Victor: I took her to the penthouse.

Sharon: Was she still upset?

Victor: Yes, very.

Sharon: Wow. She's really losing it.

Victor: It seems that way.

Sharon: How was she before you brought her to Crimson Lights?

Victor: She was very optimistic, looking forward to getting out. Her reaction to Larry Warton was unexpected.

Sharon: I asked if that was how she reacted toward him.

Victor: What did he say?

Sharon: He said the way she flipped out was way over the top.

[Phone ringing]

Victor: Interesting. Excuse me. Yes.

Mr. Newman, you said you wanted to be alerted of any change.

Victor: I certainly did. What's going on?

Miss Dennison has been pacing the room, looking very agitated.

Victor: You keep watching, Stan.

Sharon: Was that about Tricia?

Victor: She's acting strangely.

Sharon: She's probably still scared out of her wits.

Victor: Yes.

Sharon: You know, when I found out she talked her way into moving in with you, I was sure she had an agenda. Now think how frightened she was today, I wonder if she's even capable of doing anything to us.

Victor: Never underestimate that lady. She's a very, very dangerous woman. A very dangerous woman indeed. I think we found a weak spot and I think that could be very helpful.

Tricia: I know what you're trying to do.

Matt: Yeah, put your head on straight.

Tricia: You don't think I can pull this off?

Matt: Maybe it's time to cut your losses.

Tricia: Maybe it's time to shut the hell up.

Matt: Careful, sugarplum, they'll see you.

Tricia: Don't call me that.

Matt: Settle down, Tricia.

Tricia: I hate Larry Warton.

Matt: I hate the bastard too.

Tricia: I won't let him or anyone else stop me from making the Newmans pay for what they've done to me.

Matt: That a girl.

Tricia: Maybe they shook me up, but it doesn't change anything. They are going down, every last one of them. Starting with the great man, Victor Newman himself.
