Nikki: Maybe we should order.

Victor: You haven't answered me.

Nikki: Aren't you hungry?

Victor: Why are you diverting? Was Victoria wrong?

Nikki: About my having second thoughts about Larry Warton? No, she wasn't wrong.

Victor: So he is out of our lives.

Nikki: I have tried very hard to follow through with what I know would please you. I have certain obligations to myself and our son.

Victor: What obligations are you talking about?

Nikki: Victor, you know what I mean.

Victor: I think I do.

Sharon: So you're keeping your job at Jabot.

Larry: Why do you act so surprised? Wait, wait, wait, don't tell me your mom changed her mind again.

Sharon: No, no, not as far as we know.

Larry: Being jerked around is the story of my life. It won't surprise me if your old lady -- sorry, your mom, didn't change her mind three or four times by the end of the day.

Ryan: What a life: great champagne, the woman I love, my favorite chicken Thai.

Victoria: That is blowing your cover.

Ryan: Lighten up. We're celebrating. Signed divorce papers. You can't beat that.

Victoria: Aren't you the least bit worried about this?

Ryan: Honey, the doctors never would have let Tricia go home if they thought she was a danger to herself or anyone.

Victoria: I don't think they have a clue.

Keith: How does it feel?

Tricia: Being back in this house you mean?

Keith: When the sale fell through, I got our things out of -- is this upsetting for you to be here? Honey, we can stay somewhere else.

Tricia: No, no, Dad. You were absolutely right to bring me home. It's the perfect place for me right now.

Keith: That's what I thought, too. But seeing your reaction, I guess I blocked out what I didn't care to remember. There were some unhappy times in this house for you.

Tricia: You mean when Mom died? No, Dad, you're right. There's more happy times still.

Mackenzie: Rianna, what's wrong? What did J.T. do to you?

Rianna: I don't really want to talk about it.

Mackenzie: Hey. Let's go somewhere where we can be alone, okay?

Billy: What is up with Sean?

Raul: He hasn't called you from the boutique yet?

Billy: Nope. Something must be screwed up over there. You know, I think he said it had to do with the feed.

Raul: Great. Home base is shot.

Billy: At least frick and frack aren't bugging us.

Raul: I can't stand being with those two, especially J.T.

Billy: At least Brittany keeps him occupied for a while.

Raul: What do you have in mind?

Billy: Nothing. Peace and quiet. Man, it's hot out.

Raul: You know what, man? I'm going in the pool. Good lord, it's freezing!

Billy: Okay, okay, all right.

Raul: Get in.

Billy: I'm getting in!

[Knock on door)]

Michael: Come in.

Phyllis: Chantal is playing hooky.

Michael: I told her to scram. She's put in a lot of overtime.

Phyllis: Aren't you an enlightened employer. There's a lot of drama at the Abbott house right now. It's not about me for a change.

Michael: Well, there are benefits to being a little claustrophobic, don't you think?

Phyllis: I don't think.

Michael: What's the drama at the Abbott house?

Phyllis: That's a little troll, don't you think?

Michael: The question is, is all well with you and Jack.

Phyllis: Great. He asked me to marry him.

Michael: What? Congratulations. Did you accept?

Phyllis: I'm thinking about it.

Malcolm: I'm serious as a heart attack, unless you can give me other options.

Alex: You're talking crazy.

Malcolm: Nate is in pain. He needs his father.

Alex: I'm not disputing that.

Malcolm: I have held back month after month waiting for the law to make things right. You see the law can be manipulated by men like Baldwin. He will find a way to keep me and my son apart for good.

J.T.: So that's the live chat, huh?

Brittany: Not the way you type. Who wants to wait two minutes for you to say duh? Get real. It's a job. You have to answer questions. Make small talk. Chat with the girls. I'm sure you can handle that.

J.T.: It's all about makeup. I could care less about that stuff.

Brittany: You say that because you're so au naturel. I saw you talking to Rianna before. Where is Mackenzie?

Rianna: I'm not upset, Mac.

Mackenzie: Rianna, come on. Talk to me. Raul's worried about you.

Rianna: I wish he wouldn't be.

Mackenzie: He thinks you're still hurting from something J.T. did to you while you were still dating.

Rianna: He's right. Mac, I was talking to J.T., and it really hit me, how much he really, really cares about you. I'm not saying he would want to date you or anything right now. Still, just talking to him, I don't know, it's just weird. Hearing him talk about his feelings for you and how sensitive he is.

Mackenzie: I guess we've come to an understanding. I'm starting to trust him. You never had that with J.T.?

Rianna: How could I trust him?

Nicholas: Look, whatever my mom decided to do --

Larry: Obviously, you two thought I was getting the boot.

Sharon: We were under the impression that she was going to get you a job someplace else.

Larry: That's okay with you two regardless what it does to my probation?

Nicholas: She went out on a limb for you.

Larry: Your mom is caught up between helping me out and keeping the peace with your dad. The best thing is out of sight, out of mind. Leo saw her, told her if she pawned me off to some company it would make things quite sticky for me with the judge.

Sharon: Nikki thought the wisest thing is keep you on with Jabot.

Larry: For the time being. I was glad to hear that. I have no desire to go back to the joint.

Cassie: Do you want a refill? I made mango-banana. There's tons left over.

Larry: Do you guys mind if I hang out for a bit?

Nicholas: No, not at all.

Larry: What have you got?

Sharon: It had to be a tough choice but she obviously did what she felt was best.

Nicholas: My parents are supposed to be celebrating.

Sharon: Your mother is coming to her senses with Mr. Warton.

Nicholas: I hope this doesn't mess things up for them. I wonder how things are going.

Nikki: I am very aware how much it upset you when I arranged to have a job for Larry Warton.

Victor: You know I don't trust the man.

Nikki: It's certainly true he's not a mainstream individual.

Victor: Are you trying to impress me?

Nikki: You don't understand this at all. I talked to his probation officer. His probation was conditional on me keeping an eye on him. If I ship him off somewhere else, the judge won't go for it, and he will most likely end up in jail.

Victor: In other words, Larry Warton is not out of our lives.

Nikki: No, he's not. I tried. I intended to find him a job elsewhere.

Victor: But the doors are closed? Is that it?

Nikki: Regrettably, yes, they are.

Victor: Regrettably indeed.

Billy: You know, you really kicked my butt. What are you trying to do, try out for the Olympics? Did you overdo it?

Raul: It's the exercise, man. It might be low blood sugar.

Billy: I'll go get it for you.

Raul: No, I'll get it.

Billy: It is pretty fierce today. I was feeling a little weird before I jumped in the pool too.

Raul: Brittany made them?

Billy: Sure as heck wasn't Phyllis. You look better already.

Raul: I feel fine, man. I'm going to stick myself just to be sure.

Billy: You're getting to be a pro at that, man.

Raul: I have my days.

J.T.: What are you doing?

Billy: News flash, J.T. Raul's a diabetic.

Raul: We have a link to the American Diabetes Association.

Billy: Information is power, man.

J.T.: Thanks for the tip, Abbott. I really appreciate that.

Billy: Oh, yeah. It's going to be one big summer of love.

Sean: All right, everybody. Gather around. I have an announcement.

Keith: Over the last few weeks, I have been thinking a lot about that time. I realize now I put so much pressure on you, Trish, to make things right for Meagan and me, it was unintentional. I was devastated losing your mother. I wasn't the kind of parent I should have been for you girls. There are so many things I wish I'd handled differently back then.

Tricia: What's done is done.

Keith: I still feel terrible about it.

Tricia: There's really no point.

Keith: You know, maybe you should discuss this with your therapist, unless you've already done that.

Tricia: No, Dad, I haven't. I think you're right. I'll be sure to mention it to Dr. Burns.

Keith: I'm going to turn in early.

Tricia: I'll be up soon. I want to stay down here a few minutes.

Keith: It's been quite a day, Trish. Don't be long.

Tricia: I won't. Good night, Dad. I love you.

Keith: I love you, too. Good night, hon.

Alex: Malcolm, you have to listen to reason. You have an excellent attorney and there are counter-strategies.

Malcolm: Nate and I can't see each other. I'm sorry, that doesn't work for me, Alex.

Alex: I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help get this thing resolved. If you take off with Nate and the authorities catch you, you're guaranteeing not being with him anyway. You're going to jail. If you did get out of the country, your whole life would be in chaos.

Malcolm: It would be worth it.

Alex: Would Nate agree with you?

Malcolm: Alex, he needs his father.

Alex: Yes, he does. And that's a void Olivia can't fill. Could you fill the void you'd be creating by separating the boy from his mother? Have you considered for one moment what that might do to him?

Michael: You're thinking about it. Jack Abbott asked you to be his wife and all you can say is I'm thinking about it.

Phyllis: That's all I can say. I don't want to talk about it. I came here for a change of pace. Let's go to dinner.

Michael: I'm not in the most social mood.

Phyllis: Why? What's wrong?

Michael: I can't discuss my cases with you.

Phyllis: Really? You have before. Just change the names to protect the innocent or guilty.

Michael: Go to dinner, Phyllis.

Phyllis: Not even a little hint?

Michael: It has to do with the aftermath of a divorce, a very messy custody matter.

Phyllis: Interesting. Who do you think will win?

Michael: If things keep going the way it has been going, the lawyers. Nobody else.

Mackenzie: Rianna, what happened? You trusted J.T. and what?

Rianna: If only he had been the same way that he is with you.

Mackenzie: You would have been saved a lot of grief? Is that what you're saying?

Rianna: Yeah.

Mackenzie: Are you sure?

Rianna: Mac, if you don't mind --

Mackenzie: I'm sorry.

Rianna: Don't apologize.

Mackenzie: It's just, Rianna, I feel bad, okay? Being with J.T. All summer is not going to dredge up old memories? That's what Raul is worried about.

Rianna: How could I be bummed? I'm with Raul and he is just the best guy in the whole world. Really, I'm fine. Come on. Let's just go back to the others.

Ryan: I don't like Tricia's leaving the hospital any more than you do. Unfortunately, I have very little say. What is it do you think we can do?

Victoria: I don't know. Something. What about going to the D.A. and pressing charges?

Ryan: Vicki, you said --

Victoria: That was before. I never guaranteed Tricia wouldn't be prosecuted.

Ryan: You said you would keep this from happening.

Victoria: The woman is a menace. Would you stop protecting her? She confessed.

Ryan: Clark put her through hell. You want to put her behind bars?

Victoria: I want to put her back in the hospital. She needs help. There's no other way to do that, maybe we should explore other options.

Ryan: Be realistic. What do you think you will accomplish going after her like this? I don't think Glen Richards would want to prosecute.

Victoria: She is seriously disturbed. If she's found guilty or not, she will at least be committed.

Ryan: Don't be sure of that.

Victoria: What are you saying?

Ryan: Doctors think she's better. Not cured, but not criminally insane.

Victoria: I can't believe she's made that much progress.

Ryan: I know you're frustrated. So am I. If you just talk to her --

Victoria: Are you kidding?

Ryan: It's like night and day. She's a different person.

Victoria: I don't buy it.

Ryan: The doctors do, which means so will the court.

Victoria: I just thought this whole nightmare was over. Tricia is capable of doing terrible, terrible things. I just thought with her in an institution, I would be able to relax. I would be able to stop looking over my shoulder. I would be able to concentrate on us. You and me. Not you and me and Tricia.

Brittany: What kind of announcement?

Sean: Where are Mac and Rianna?

Raul: There you are.

Rianna: We were just out for a stroll.

Sean: I just fixed the problem at the boutique. Since it's almost quitting time, we'll start there for tomorrow. Let's do one more chat.

Raul: Ri, you up for it?

Rianna: Not really. I've had too much fun.

Brittany: J.T. got his feet wet earlier. I think it's time to introduce the new member of the group.

Sean: This time it's Mac. Next time it's J.T. If you want to stick around, I will be more than happy to do so. Otherwise, I'll double-check the boutique.

Billy: We're fine on our own.

Brittany: We can hang around, keep them company.

Sean: See you guys later.

Raul: Babe, you seem a little lost. It's J.T., isn't it? I hate having him around.

Rianna: No. Hey, I'm fine. I'm just tired. That's all. Okay?

Malcolm: Alex, you're right. Okay? You're right. I can't do this to Nate. Damn it, this is going to kill him.

Alex: Look, Malcolm, I know this has been tough on both of you. I didn't realize the end even appeared to be in sight. You told him?

Malcolm: No. Not exactly. You see, I bought tickets for a baseball game at the end of the month. I promised we would go see it together. You see, now --

Alex: Wait a minute, Malcolm. You talked to him and saw him again?

Malcolm: 4th of July. He was out with Mamie.

Alex: I told you --

Malcolm: Relax. It was accidental. It's not against the law to be there.

Alex: If Olivia walked in.

Malcolm: Baby, you're missing the point here. I was sure the meeting would be next week. I swore up and down I wouldn't have to disappoint my son again.

Alex: This will work out. Malcolm, I need you to stay cool and keep your eye on the big picture. You do realize that, don't you?

Phyllis: Michael, you're usually not this cynical.

Michael: I find myself in the uncomfortable position of having to achieve a goal I think is totally wrong.

Phyllis: On behalf of the client? So drop it.

Michael: You don't bail in midstream, Phyllis. It's just not done. This is hardly the first time I disagree with one I represent.

Phyllis: Why is this different?

Michael: Once I express my opinion, I forge ahead, find solace in doing it well. Now I'm frustrated by my inability to convince my client what's best for the child.

Phyllis: Oh, I see why you're so freaked out.

Michael: What do you mean?

Phyllis: You're thinking of the welfare of the child, Michael. You're having a sudden attack of conscience. A lawyer with morals, amazing. And you no less. Very scary.

Michael: Yes, Phyllis, it is indeed.

Tricia: Well, look who's here. I wish you wouldn't sneak up on me like that.

Matt: Hey, I have to keep things interesting.

Tricia: Hey yourself. I'm running the show myself.

Matt: Are you sure of that?

Tricia: If I didn't want you here, you'd be gone.

Matt: Please, please don't take those pills. Don't make me go away. I'm only a figment of your imagination.

Tricia: Shut up, figment. So what do you think so far?

Matt: Not bad.

Tricia: Not bad. Are you kidding? I'm on the road to recovery. I think so.

Matt: You can fool some people some of the time.

Tricia: You fooled everyone, Matt.

Matt: You learned my name.

Tricia: I've been faking people out since my mom died. Tricia the brave. Tricia the strong.

Matt: Substitute wife for your father?

Tricia: Don't be gross.

Matt: I'm your figment, remember?

Tricia: Little did people know, resentment, it hurts. Brings a desire to hurt back. But I hid it and no one knew.

Larry: You know what? Mrs. Newman is one heck of lady. I'm never going to let her down, no matter what. I'm planning on holding up my end of the bargain, and that's it. I think I struck bottom. Anyway, I think I'm going to be going. I don't want to wear out my welcome. Thanks again for the smoothies, Cassie. Here's something for you being a bartender.

Cassie: Thanks, Mr. Warton. Bye.

Larry: Take it easy.

Cassie: Isn't it great? Everyone's happy now.

Sharon: You think there will be more fireworks between Nikki and Victor?

Nicholas: I hope not, with Warton still around.

Sharon: Do you think he'll keep his word?

Nicholas: He walks into a room, trouble finds him. We just hope Mom has him under control.

Nikki: I can't find it in myself to leave Warton hanging. He says it's the first break he's had.

Victor: The man is playing you like a violin.

Nikki: It's a matter of my conscience. I can't walk away from him. I gave Nicholas my word.

Victor: Larry Warton has a long criminal record. One good deed involving our son ain't gonna change him. He plotted for months against our son.

Nikki: He wanted -- he wants to build a new life.

Victor: I know you don't want to hear this. But I have to say it to you. You trust people too easily.

Nikki: I made a commitment. So did Nicholas. Victor, how often have you told me a man is only as good as his word?

Victor: So you're saying my own words are coming back to haunt me.

Nikki: I do listen to you, believe it or not.

Victor: You've done it, you know.

Nikki: What?

Victor: You set out to become your own person. You've accomplished that.

Nikki: I'm not sure if that's a compliment.

Victor: Nor am I. But I do admire your strength. And your determination to stick by your own convictions. That doesn't do away with my concerns, all right?

Nikki: I understand. I never expected to hear you say that.

Victor: Perhaps what you said could become true.

Nikki: What?

Victor: You and I could become friends. Listen to me, if there's any sign of anything wrong with Larry Warton, you tell me about it.

Nikki: I know, I know. I promise.

Victor: Would you like to eat something?

Nikki: I would like that.

Victor: So would I.

Billy: Did you believe that guy from -- where was it?

Mackenzie: Austin, Texas.

Billy: He kept talking about guitars. And I'm like yo, dude, are you sure you're on the right website?

Mackenzie: That was totally wild.

Billy: It sure was. So where were you and Rianna?

Mackenzie: We were in the hideaway talking about private stuff.

Billy: Oh, okay. Private stuff have to do with me?

Mackenzie: Why would you say that?

Billy: Things were kind of weird today.

Mackenzie: Because things weren't right.

Billy: Mac, I don't want anything to come between us, ever, especially over a dumb disagreement about J.T. I care about you too much.

Mackenzie: I know, Billy. I feel the same way.

Ryan: Vicki, I understand where you're coming from. But I think at this point we just need to count our blessings.

Victoria: And those are?

Ryan: Tricia was rational enough to sign papers to allow me to move forward with my divorce. She's not going to fight me like this. She's also not running in the streets. She's on a very short leash. The only time she will leave the house is to go to the hospital for her sessions. She's on medication that's working. She knows it's helping her. Honey, look at me. Look at me. We have so much to be thankful for. Life is way too short to be worrying about what might go wrong. I believe in our future. I know it's going to happen for us. Don't let Tricia spoil that. Please.

Matt: Listen, doll, I know you think you're pulling the wool over people's eyes. But I'm not sure of your soon-to-be ex-husband. He looks like he was expecting you to foam at the mouth.

Tricia: If he has any doubts, I will put them to rest.

Matt: Why me? After all the people you could have conjured, after all I put you through.

Tricia: Maybe I thought you would be coming back for real.

Matt: Hey, I still might.

Tricia: Don't make me laugh. You're dead. I killed you.

Matt: Well, then why did you bring me back like this?

Tricia: You're not as clever as you think if you can't figure that one out. You're here, my own little private audience, because you're the one person who can truly appreciate what I intend to do.
